ONE MORE CHANCE FOR ME

Selene woke up deep at night, She turned to see her husband standing by the window and he was on a phone call.

'Honey' she stood up and approached him.

'Babe, why are you up? Did my call disturb you?' Tyler asked and she hugged him tightly from behind.

'Who are you calling this late?' she asked and he turned towards her.

'I was discussing with my club member in the e-sport, he was mocking me and saying I live in a glass house owned by my wife' he said with a painful smile.

Tyler is an e-sports player, and he is the AD(leader) in his team, his dad is one of the business partners in Selene's company, but he doesn't have such a big share in the company.

Though the e-sport pays a lot of money, Tyler is still not as rich as Selene.

'Don't mind their words, what belongs to me belongs to you as well' Selene tried coaxing him but he frowned.

'I love you a lot Selene, but others don't understand our relationship.... Have you read the comments online? They all say Tyler the AD of Giant team is a weakling compared to his wife' he complained then walked towards the bed.

'If I had the wealth you have then our marriage would have been perfect' he said then went to sleep.

Selene was in a tight spot, She went online and checked the comments, it was indeed true...why would people keep criticizing her husband, She had never complained about that.

She took a decision instantly and dialed her lawyer's number, after the call she went back to sleep.

The next morning, Selene dressed classically and got into her Porsche car before driving to the restaurant to meet up with her friend and lawyer.

As soon as she spotted her best friend Summer she walked toward her, Summer pulled Selene to the chair.

'Why do you have a facemask?' Selene asked and Summer had a huge frown.

'Am an esports player so am a celebrity, forget about me...tell me you are joking, you want to transfer all your assets to Tyler?' Summer scolded.

'It is not a big deal, I don't understand how this your esports fans are, they keep throwing hateful comments about our marriage' she scoffed.

'Just because those online keyboards said his wife is richer than him? You must be crazy...don't do that' Summer warned.

'I already made up my mind, what belongs to him also belongs to me right'

Summer banged her head on the table frustrated.

'Ok if you give all your assets to him, tell me who will pay Lottie's fees?'

'I will still have access to my account, Why do you and Lottie think the worst about my husband?'

'Lottie said she suspects he has an affair with your secretary' Summer said.

'And that's just scram, Lottie is still young'

A middle-aged man walks in together with Selene's secretary Lara.

'Hello maam' Lara greeted with a smile.

The lawyer greeted them as well and then sat together with them.

'You brought the documents?' Selene asked.

'Your secretary put me under pressure, so I had to finish early' the lawyer explained and Summer glared at Lara angrily.

'Ok give it to me' The lawyer handed the documents to Selene who read it and was about to sign it.

'Wait, think this one more time' Summer said, Selene smiled and pushed her hands away.

Then she signed the papers and handed them to the lawyer.

'Now all my properties and assets belong to my husband, that's all for now' she said and the lawyer nodded before leaving.

'I will see him out' Lara said and followed the lawyer.

'Selene I just lost you' Summer said disappointed and left.

On her way to the door, she saw the lawyer handing the document to the secretary, Immediately she took the documents she got into a car...that was Tyler's car.

She ran back towards Selene.

'Come quick' she said and pulled Selene towards her car.

'What happened?' Selene asked almost breathless.

'Look in front, what do you see?' Summer asked, Selene looked and saw her husband's car in front.

'Why are we stalling my husband?' she asked with a frown.

'You are such an idiot, just keep quiet and see' Summer kept driving till Tyler's car stopped in front of Selene's house.

Selene watched as Tyler walked into her house together with her secretary.

'What's happening?' Selene asked scared.

'Come' Summer pulled her in and they walked inside the building.

They could see the secretary's shoe on the door, her shirt was on the couch and sounds could be heard from the room.

'Summer please don't tell me what am thinking' Selene said in tears, she loves Tyler so much that she can't take it.

Summer walked inside the room angrily.

'Lara' Summer said angrily.

Selene walked inside the room, she immediately slapped Tyler.

'Selene wait I can explain' Tyler said but Selene was already losing it.

'How do you want to explain the fact that your d..ck was in her' Summer scolded.

'Stay out of this' Tyler warned angrily.

'I won't' she said angrily as well.

Selene walked towards Lara and slapped her.

Tyler held Selene and pushed her angrily.

'How dare you slap my woman?'

'Tyler I am your wife, You just slept with my secretary in my home' she scolded when Tyler laughed out.

'Which home? This house and the company belong to me...so save some face and leave' he pointed towards the door.

Selene was shocked, did Tyler just switch to a monster right now?

'As expected of you' Summer scoffed then held Selene.

'This is not over, you played me hard....It is not been 24hrs I transferred my properties to you so I can still take it back' Selene warned and left with Summer.

'What will we do now?' Tyler asked frustrated, What if Selene takes back all her assets, then he will be poor and his plan with his father for 5 years will be a waste?

'Don't get too anxious, let's just deal with her once and for all' Lara suggested and Tyler stared at her shocked.

'What do you mean?'

'You know what I mean....by killing her it will kill the affection you have for her' she said in a jealous tone.

'I don't love her' he tried to justify.

'Save me that' Lara got dressed and picked up her phone.

Summer kept driving when Selene told her to stop at the court.

'They can't do this to me' she kept crying.

Summer received a phone call from her leader, she was expected to come back now

'You can drop me here, I will take a cab' Selene said and Summer hesitated before dropping her.

'Call me if you need anything' she said and drove away.

Seeing that the court was close, Selene decided to walk.

She was about to cross the road when she saw a car rushing towards her.

She tried escaping but the car was aiming at her, it was too late.

'Ahh' Selene screamed out, She was hit by the car and also got shot before the driver rode away.

The passersby all surrounded her, a man walked forward and felt her pulse.

'She is dead' he said and they all sighed in regret.

'Selene do you want to marry him?' Lottie asked and Selene who was dressed in a wedding dress was shocked.

She stared around, felt her body, and also touched Lottie's face.

'Lottie' she said and tears rushed down her cheeks, she hugged her half-sister tightly.

'What's wrong? If you will miss me this much then don't get married' Lottie said.

'What's the date of today?' Selene asked still confused.

'23 October 2022'

'It's 2022?' Selene got confused, but she had already gotten married to Tyler, and it's been a year already.

'Boring day' Summer walked in, she was dressed in a bridesmaid outfit.

'Summer' Selene rushed and hugged her friend tightly.

'If your sister hears about this she will scold you' he warned angrily.

'Tyler what's going on?' his dad asked in a confused state.

'Dad everything is fine, don't mind Lottie's words...I will go get Selene personally' he said and walked towards the room when Lottie followed him.

He arrived in the room and saw Selene was dressed casually and the wedding dress was on the bird.

'Babe, what's going on? Why aren't you dressed up' he asked anxiously.

Selene's secretary, Lara, walked in as well.

'Ma'am everything is ready to start, Why are you not yet dressed' Lara asked and Selene smiled before picking her wedding dress.

'This dress is so expensive that Tyler will have to keep his 3 months salary just to afford it' she said and Tyler was embarrassed and shocked.

'Also, the venue and decorations are top class, you will never be able to afford it even if you work for a year as my secretary' she added and Lara stared at Tyler asking for an explanation.

'But since I am so kind, I have decided to give it all to you...Lara put on the wedding dress and go marry the man you have been f.. king with...Tyler.' She dropped the bomb and Lara's eyes widened in shock.

'What are you saying? Me and Lara' Tyler asked.

'You think you will play me till the end? Do you want my assets? Dream on' she scoffed and picked up her car keys.

'Selene come back here' Tyler ran towards her and held her hands.

'If you leave now then it's over, Don't come begging me in the future' Tyler warned and she laughed out.

'Summer, stay out of this' he warned angrily.

'What did she tell you? She is trying to break us don't you see...I have a match with their team next week, so she is trying to make me vulnerable...please don't listen to her' he pleaded and Lottie got scared.

'You don't deserve to talk to me, and has your team ever won against her team? You are just a local e-sports player and can't even afford the car she drives' Selene mocked.

'Don't talk to him in that tone' Lara butted in and laughed.

'And who are you to reprimand her? His f.. king partner' Summer rolled her eyes and held Selene's hands.

'Let's leave, let's give the lovely couple some space' Summer dragged Selene out of the venue together with Lottie.

They got in the car before Summer retracted her phone.

'What are you doing?' Lottie asked curiously.

'Before Tyler gets the chance to post fake news about why the wedding was canceled I should do it first' she giggled and then typed.

'Team Giant AD-Tyler got dumped on his wedding day coz he had an affair with someone else' she typed and posted.

'Does your team allow you to defame other teams?'Selene asked and Summer's eyes widened in shock

'Why did you not say this early' She was so excited that she forgot the rules, but now she couldn't delete it because the post had already been shared and was even pinned.

Suddenly she received a phone call.

'Hello brother' she said to the manager of their team.

'Come back now, you are in trouble....' He said then hung up.

'You helped me today so I will help you as well, Lottie let's go with her' Selene said and she agreed.

'That's more reason we should come along' Selene said again and Summer finally accepted and drove to Team RQ base.

The base was really big.

'Ash is the goddess in the esports world, he is the best AD in the world' Lottie said with a dreamlike look.

'I don't like e-sports, it's just a bunch of lazy people sitting in front of the computer and playing video games' Selene said and a voice echoed from behind them.

'Then you are not allowed into our base' They all turned to see a guy who had a serious look and both hands were in his pocket.

'Ash' Lottie said excitedly.

Ash walked in ignoring them all, he got inside and the girls could finally feel their heartbeats.

'He looks so scary, How do you survive living in the same house with him?' Selene said with a disgusting look.

'He looks scary but he is kind as well, Don't talk bad about e-sport again... let's go in' Summer said and they all walked in.

They walked in and the place was super large.

Computers were arranged in a straight line with some gamers focusing on their training matches.

'Summer you are in big trouble' Dave yelled out and Summer frowned.

'You are the only lady here' Lottie whispered and she nodded.

'Summer, what was the post for?' Lex the manager said, Selene stared around and saw the arrogant guy concentrating on his phone.

'It's all my fault please don't blame her' Selene said.

'No one asked you' Ash butted in without staring at them.

Selene frowned at him and then stayed quiet.

'Am sorry Lex, I posted it out of influence' Summer said.

'The manager of Team Giant plans on suing you' Lex added and Summer became all red.

'They can't sue her for something that small' Lottie said angrily.

'She has caused scandal online, and the whole team is at risk... We had an agreement before you joined this team, anything that doesn't concern our team should not exist' Lex said in an angry tone.

'What will happen if they sue her?' Selene butted in again.

'She might have to leave the team' Lex said sadly.

Tears rolled down Summer's cheeks, It was so difficult for her to get into the team so how could they take her out this easily?

'Is there no way to fix this?' Selene got worried.

'We are trying to fix it from within, but it will be easier if she apologizes to the manager of Team Giant and begs him not to sue her

'She hasn't done anything wrong so she won't apologize' Selene said angrily.

'Then let her park her stuff and leave' Ash said and stared daggers at Selene.

'I will fix things' Selene said.

'How? Are you going to plead with Tyler?' Lottie asked.

'Nope, am going to buy Team Giant' she blurted and they all stared at her shocked.

Ash had a mocking smile, did this lady think a team is that cheap?

'Miss stop spouting nonsense please' the mid-player Ray said In a mocking tone.

Selene ignored them then retracted her phone and contacted her lawyer.

'Prepare the documents to buy Team Giant and then take it to the owners' she said and hung up.

'Selene, what are you doing? You don't even love e-sports and you want to buy an e sports team' Summer tried reasoning with her.

'Such a show off' Ash scoffed and left.

'He thinks am showing off? For Summer and Lottie, I am ready to do anything for them...they are my only family' Selene thought angrily.

'Are you going to buy it?' Ray walked towards Selene and asked.

'Hmm,' she nodded.

'Oh my, how rich are you?' Lex said in disbelief.

'Summer everything will be fine, and I will just find someone to take care of the team since am not interested in e-sport...Lottie let's leave' Selene smiled and then waved at them before walking out.

Tyler felt frustrated, he stood in the huge sitting room together with Lara and his father stared at them angrily.

'She called off the wedding at the last minute, why?' Mr. Rein asked angrily.

His plan to take over the entire company was already going successfully, he even had to make his son date that Selene girl.

'Dad I don't know why' Tyler said.

'You don't know why? I already warned you to pause this stupid relationship you have with this slut, but you didn't' he warned and stared at Lara disgusted.

'How is it my fault? I didn't do anything' she retorted and Mr Rein sighed.

'Take this slut out of my side, and you better get Selene back, you won't be the one to ruin my plans' he said and Tyler nodded before walking out.

Lara sighed and followed as well.

'What do you think happened that she changed her mind this quickly?' Lara was confused, everything was going out as planned.

'You tell me, you are her secretary and always with her, so what the heck happened' Tyler yelled out.

'Why are you getting so angry? Is it because your plans didn't work out or is it because you love Selene?'

'Don't spout nonsense' he said trying to escape the question.

'Ok let's forget about this first, Now I have no job and you are the leader of your team...why don't you pull some strings and get me a job?' she asked with a smile.

Selene sat in her bedroom with the lights switched off.

She felt hurt, just because life gave her one more chance doesn't mean life took away all the pain.

What would her life have been like if she didn't have one more chance?

'Tyler played me for 4 good years' she cried out, she spent 4 good years of her life with a scum...it hurts a lot, and her heart aches coz she loved him.

She heard some yelling from outside and quickly wiped her tears before rushing out.

'I said you ain't welcome' Lottie kept saying to Tyler who found his way upstairs, he wanted to talk with Selene.

'Mr. Rein, what are you doing here?' Selene asked and stared at Tyler angrily.

'Why are you doing this to me?' Tyler asked with tears threatening to roll down his cheeks.

'Please remind me, what have I done?'

'You called off our wedding without any explanation, why do you keep assuming I have an affair with Lara...that's impossible' he said and Selene smiled.

If not that she had seen the future then she would have fallen for the lies he was spouting out.

'Tyler I was a fool, I was a fool that you played me for 4 good years...why will you do that to me? Is it because of the money Selene scolded out and Lottie ran towards her.

'I never played you' he tried to justify but Selene pushed him angrily.

'What's wrong with me? Am not disabled so why did you have to pretend to love me for 4 years while all this time you have been sleeping with my secretary..you hurt me real hard' She was vulnerable now.

She felt broken, all the affection he showed to her for 4 years was all a joke, Lara must have had a good laugh every time she brags about her boyfriend.

'Selene why are you doing this, I know you love me so much so don't push me away, I might leave' he said and Lottie stared at him disgusted.

'Selene thinks about this again, do you want me to leave? All our moments for the past 4 years will be wasted...if I leave now then I won't come back' he threatened and Selene felt more hurt.

Why is she not shocked, in the past Tyler always used this threatening tone with her...any time he does something wrong she will be the one to apologize coz she doesn't want to lose him.

'What are you still waiting for? Leave now' Selene scolded and wiped her tears.

'Selene' he called out.

'Don't you ever mention my name, leave now or I will call the cops on you' she warned without blinking.

Tyler nodded and then left, he had a lot of pride that he didn't see himself begging any lady.

Tyler drove Team Giant base, he was going to do everything for Selene to come begging.

'Tyler' the manager of the team called and Tyler approached him ignoring his teammates.

'Have you seen the post online? I hope this won't affect your performance' he asked.

'It won't, and are the papers to sue Summer ready?' he asked and the manager nodded.

'Then good, let me see if she will ever step her feet to any competition in the future' Tyler smiled then retracted his phone and typed a message to Selene.

Selene got freshened up and saw a message pop up on her screen.

'Let's get back together and I won't sue Summer in court, think about this'

Selene read the message and laughed.

She dialed the number of the one in charge of Team Giant.

'Hello miss I have been waiting for your call' a middle-aged man said from the other line.

'I thought you would probably want to come to the base and see the team members and also see how it works' he said and Selene sighed.

'I don't want to come over, I will just give some rules and you implement them, let the team not sue Summer, let the matter go' she said and the man was shocked.

The manager made a phone call to the man in charge, Mr. Tonia who was in charge of the team felt a headache...why would Tyler suddenly threaten them?

Mr. Tonia made a call to Selene again.

'Miss, Tyler is threatening to leave the team if we don't sue Summer'

Selene had a bright smile, it's her team so she could decide to change all the members if she wanted, she could also decide to turn it into a baseball club.... It's all up to her.

'So am sure any other team will like to sign him in, if he doesn't follow orders then let him park his stuff and leave, he is not in charge' he said and Tyler was completely white like a ghost.

He clenched his fist angrily and walked upstairs to his room, he can't leave the team, and he has brought this team to where it is now so why will he leave?

Team Giant is like his baby, he can't let it go...he decided to let Summer off, but it's still not over.

Summer was having a training match with his team when the doorbell rang.

'I will get it' Lex said.

'Summer hide in the farm and wait for them' Ash ordered while playing.

They were having a training match with Team Nect.

'Ok Summer now' Ash said and Summer immediately attacked.

The fight was drastic, finally, they destroyed the base of Team Nect.

'We won' Dave the team jungle said excitedly.

'Great job guys, but this is just a training match...the real match is next week' Lex said and handed an envelope to Summer.

'Did your fans send you a love letter' Dave teased and Summer gave him a hard glare.

She opened the envelope and had a huge frown.

It's not yet February so why will they arrange the class reunion this month?

She felt irritated, they were doing this just to mock Selene.

She left the training center and went to her room before dialing Selene's number.

'Did you receive an invitation?' she asked.

'Summer it's bad, I received the golden invitation' Selene said on the verge of crying.

According to their rules, whenever there is a high school reunion whoever receives a golden invitation will be the one to open the dance floor with their partner.

'Am sure this is all Delaney's idea, she is a real devil' Summer said angrily.

'I don't have a plus one, she is trying to embarrass me' Selene pouted.

'I wonder who received the second golden card, I can bet that it's Tyler' Summer said.

'If he is the one then am out of the party, am sure he is going to come along with Lara and they will be the first couples to open the dance floor...and I will have to dance alone' Selene cried out.

'Selene you are beautiful and rich, am sure you can find a handsome date before this weekend right, Let's not allow Delaney to mock you' Summer said and Selene nodded before hanging up.

At the last school reunion, she insulted Delaney, she even told Delaney that the next time there will be a reunion she will come along with her wedding ring.
