"No father, I won't marry that impotent man, Charlotte should. Moreover, she's divorced now. Are you using me as a scapegoat instead of her?"
As Charlotte Wilson walked through the stairs of the Wilson mansion, the conversation from the stairs made her stop in her tracks. She continue listening to the conversation coming from her father and sister.
"Keep your mouth shut Christina. Don't you see that if you don't agree to this marriage, we might end up in bankruptcy and lose all worked for over the years ." David Wilson screamed.
"But she's right hunny. Don't you think it's high time that she pays us back after all we did for her. Moreover she is the elder sister?" Estella chipped in. She was Charlotte's mother.
Just as David was about to talk, Charlotte hurriedly walked downstairs.
"Fine, I will marry him but on one condition?"
Both her father and sister glanced at her, quite surprised how she instantly gave her consent to the marriage without any grudges.
"Which is?" There was delight in her mother's eyes as she asked.
"We will sign an agreement that states I won't have anything to do with this family anymore after my marriage, plus this will be my way of paying you back for bringing me up and providing for me all these years," Charlotte said.
"Of course, fine we give our consent to that."
There were rumors that the wealthiest Moore family's second son, Kennedy Moore was a man with an unapproachable personality. He was said to be strict in the business world and was hard to please. Because of his disability, he became impotent.
Out of frustration he even killed his five ex-wives, so because of this particular reason a lot of families in the city were afraid of getting their daughter married to such a cruel man, yet because of their selfish reason Charlotte's father wanted his daughter to marry him.
Charlotte's family got framed and for this main reason, they were on the verge of losing all they had worked so hard for over the years. Her father then suggested that they take loans from the bank to lift their business but the bank refused to grant them any loans leading them into greater crisis.
The Wilson's condition got so bad that they could not pay the workers at their company so the workers showed up one after the other and continuously threatened to harm them.
It was at that time that the Moore family intervened and was willing to help solve their financial break down, so Charlotte's father decided to use his daughter in exchange for his selfish needs.
Reluctant to marry that cruel man, Charlotte was assigned instead to marry him. Because she recently got divorced, her family felt she was the right one.
---
The next day after the wedding, Charlotte was sent to the Moore's mansion.
That night, as she sat on the couch in the living room, an old man in a wheelchair came to where she sat.
"Maid, make her clean and send her to my bed now. I want to Inspect her."
Inspect me?
There was a frown on Charlotte's face. What did he take her for? Was she simply a toy that could be used at any time by him?
Charlotte pretended not to hear what the man said, but the wheelchair coming closer to where she sat made her nervous.
Out of fear, Charlotte stood up from the couch intending to escape before the man could touch her but alas, someone dragged her arms by force. Before she knew what was going on, she was pulled into a dark room crashing hard on the bed.
Gasping for breath, she felt a giant body against hers, and then the person in the dark began to caress her all over her body.
"Ah! Stop." Charlotte couldn't help but yell in fear. She was sweating profusely.
After that, she heard the person laughing in the dark.
Judging from his figure and the way he handled her, Charlotte was certain it was a man but if Kennedy was said to be impotent, how was he able to touch her?
Still confused in her thoughts, she heard the man saying.
"Wait, are you scared?' The man asked still touching her.
Then the man's hand left her shoulder and went further to her slender waist, before moving to her bosom.
No! This was the height of it. She couldn't take it anymore.
The fact that she didn't see the person touching her in the dark made her even more confused and angry. Was it the impotent Kennedy Moore?
Charlotte pushed the man's hand away from her body, intending to quickly escape from this dark room no matter what, but the man dragged her back to the bed.
"Please stop." She screamed again.
"No. I won't!" The man screamed back at her.
She shivered in fear, her hand trembling.
The man continued to touch her all over. He reached for her waist and grabbed it closer to his body.
Charlotte got hold of his hand and flung it away.
"You disgust me huh? Stop pretending to be so pure when in fact you're not. Tell me, are you a virgin?" The man yelled at her.
Still lying on the bed, there was shock on Charlotte's face. "Could he really be Kennedy Moore?"
Seeing that he had caught her, the man instantly stopped touching her and stood up.
One second... two second....
The light in the room was switched on.
"You liar. Tell me, are you Charlotte or Christiana that supposed sister of yours?" There was a hint of mockery in his voice as he asked.
Too shocked to speak, Charlotte shivered in fear and closed her eyes, too scared to look at him.
So he was indeed Kennedy Moore?
She thought since Kennedy didn't see Christine, he must have been convinced that it was her, but it seemed she forgot such a man with a cruel character was hard to fool.
"Cats caught your tongue, right? Haha!" The man laughed.
His mocking tone made Charlotte open her eyes. Instantly she was met with a pair of cold eyes starting directly at her.
If eyes could kill, she would have died just now.
The man kept looking at her with his cold eyes. His thin lips were curled into a sneer and he gave her such an unapproachable look.
"So he is indeed Kennedy Moore?"
Charlotte was really stunned. A while later, after the atmosphere she sat up on the bed while trying so hard not looking at Kennedy Moore.
When he didn't speak, she finally spoke up breaking the silence between them.
"I'm Christina Wilson."
"Haha. Still lying. How about this?" Kennedy pulled out an envelope from the pocket of his suite and threw it at her.
Charlotte immediately took the envelope from the floor and opened the envelope, as the went trough the information on the envelope it was all about her sister.
"If this is the case, can it be that all this whole before the wedding he already knew about her identity?" Charlotte thought.
Charlotte scratched her palm and as she felt the pain from it, Kennedy laughed; making her to look at his face instantly.
Although this man possessed such an unapproachable aura, he was very handsome and was like a painting in an art work.
"What do the Wilson family take me for. A fool? Or the fact that I am crippled means that they can play with my intelligence. Wow. Such a smarty move from them." Kennedy said.
Charlotte dropped the envelope on the bed and whispered, "But how does it make any difference. I am also a daughter of the Wilson family."
"Hmm. The same daughter who just got divorced not long ago? Do your family think of the Moore family as a recycling bin?"
The sarcastic words from Kennedy Moore made Charlotte recall a very terrible time in her life. She scratched her palms so hard and felt droplets of blood gushing out, at the same time trying to use the pain to keep herself composed.
Nothing could be more painful that the fact she got caught. What would Kennedy think of her now?
"In three minutes I want you to get out of the Moore residence." Kennedy said with his eyes turning cold again.
"What?" Charlotte looked up and she caught his cold eyes starring at her.
If it turns out that the Moore family chased her away now, it was also possible that because of her family's deceit the Moore family might not want to help them
Solve their bankruptcy issue, something her family was counting on her for.
And even if she was against the marriage, she couldn't just allow her family go up in flame. So it was only better she star back.
Charlotte master up the courage and looked at his cold eyes while saying, "This marriage was arranged by your parents and I know you don't care who your bride is otherwise you won't have given your consent to this marriage. Rather than chasing me away, why don't you allow me to stay. I promise that I won't meddle in your life or cause any problem to you."
As Charlotte spoke, she raised her hands in defense to prove her innocence. There were a glint of determination in her eyes as she spoke yet, she still had a doubt that he would easily agree to what she said.
After listening to what she said, Kennedy laughed.
"Do you really want to live in luxury and bear the name as the daughter in law of the Moore family. How shameless!
It wasn't the first time that he encounter a greedy woman like her, who was willing to become a substitute bride in hopes for wealth.
But after thinking for a while, he finally concluded and said" Fine. I will give you a chance to stay."
"Really?" There were smiles on Charlotte's face as she asked him.
"But you have to satisfy me sexually."
Shocked, Charlotte looked at him in disbelief.
This man was truly shameless!
Charlotte immediately frowned her face.
"Don't you understand what I mean? Don't tell me that a divorced woman like you don't understand when a man says you should satisfy him sexually. I mean you have to please me first, then I can reconsider letting you stay in the Moore residence."
Understanding what he meant, The nails on Charlotte's hands dug into her palms from her extreme hand clenching.
Aldrich had been her husband for two years, but he had never slept with her because he was too busy.
Then, a little more than a month ago, she witnessed Aldrich having sexual relations with a stunning pregnant woman on their marital bed.
Her nightmares began as soon as she...
"Speak!" Kennedy became impatient with her silence. The quilt she was holding out in front of him was torn away by his hand, exposing the body of the fair woman.
"Ah!"
In a panic, Charlotte snatched the quilt and wrapped herself in it as though she were a peasant in some distant nation.
Kennedy's eyes darkened even more when he caught a glimpse of Charlotte's seductive beauty, and his angry voice grew husky with passion. Then he laughed. "You're awful at appearing innocent." He continued, a cold glare in his eyes. "Get the hell out of here if you can't do what I ask of you!" He then turned away and pushed the wheelchair.
"Wait a second!"
Charlotte was so anxious as she peered at Kennedy's cold and merciless back that she slid out of bed while still being covered by the comforter.
She yelled behind his back. "Anyway, you can't do it! Why are you punishing me in this manner?
Isn't peace of mind better for all of us? Additionally, you save the hassle of getting remarried.
Kennedy paused at her comments as his wheelchair came to a stop. Although his head was slightly tilted in her direction, his body was immovable. Then, as his mischievous voice crept closer to her, he sent her a severe glance out of the corner of his eye. "Who is it that says I can't do it?"
In the pitch-black night, Kennedy's eyes were seething flames like a latent beast.
It appeared as though he would charge and rip her.
throat out if she said another word.
'What's going on?' How could a clearly disabled man be emanating such a powerful
aura?
Kennedy had already turned his wheelchair around and was slowly approaching her, his eyes as dark as night.
Seeing his sudden change of demeanor,
Charlotte, who was wrapped in a quilt, took two steps back subconsciously.
Before long, Kennedy, who was in his wheelchair, rolled to a stop in front of her.
His hand darted out and clasped her thin, fair wrist while snatching the quilt away from her body with the other hand.
"Ah!" Charlotte slid into his lap without delay.
What did you just say, exactly? Kennedy spoke through his icy lips with her in the center of his attention.
"It's said that you're impotent," Charlotte tried to hide her body as her face reddened and she struggled to escape his hold. Say "Let me go!"
Charlotte was startled by his sudden approach as his hot, masculine aura enveloped her. How ferocious, aggressive, and hazardous! Charlotte was reminded of the man in the automobile by the sensation. Charlotte's face grew pale, and the aura emanating from his body was just as oppressive as the lap she was presently sitting on. She wouldn't soon forget that embarrassing evening.
A month ago, she was skulking around the streets after seeing her spouse betrayed.
she was loitering on the streets dejectedly when a man caught her and pulled her into a car. Everything spiraled out of control after that.
She had fought and cried, but all of her efforts had been in vain against his enormous, scalding palms.
She was treated like a rag doll and pushed to the brink of death.
He abruptly stole her first experience during a gloomy night. What's more, she was unable to identify the man.
So you're going out of your way to be my wife, eh?
Her body tensed as she realized the man was frantically thrusting his manhood against her after being startled back to reality by the sound of his voice in her ear.
Only a month earlier, she had gone through a horrific tragedy.
Charlotte suddenly had sweat running down her forehead. She responded, "Let me go first," covering her chest with one hand and pushing against him with the other.
It's very risky for him to be lustful right now!
"Heh." Why are you so anxious, Kennedy scoffed? Is this the first time for you?
Don't push me past my breaking point, Charlotte stared angrily at him.
"You can only stay one more time if you please me," I said.
Charlotte's cheeks lost all color as her lips quiver.
Charlotte eventually found the fortitude to look into his unwavering gaze and did her best to fight the sensation of guilt as She showed the man in front of her her body. Then she extended her shaking hands to unbutton his shirt.
Two buttons instead of one.
She suddenly felt sick to her stomach.
"Blech!" Charlotte began to sneeze violently.
He held her chin with one hand as a deathly aura emanated from his body as soon as she finished speaking, sending a stinging pain across her jaw.
Are you sure I'm that repulsive?
It's not like that.
Charlotte was crying, either from pain or from concern; "I've already come this far. Now I can't fail! I must succeed in remaining in the Moore residence."
"I just-argh!"
Kennedy shoved her away before she had a chance to defend herself. "Bitches like you who try to act innocent disgust me even more!"
-Kennedy turned back and wheeled himself away without glancing at Charlotte, who had collapsed on the ground.
Charlotte gently bit her lower lip after noticing he had left.
"I should be able to stay at the Moore home since he didn't ask me to do so."
She went back to the bed and rewrapped herself in the quilt.
After ten minutes she sighed with satisfaction that no one was chasing her out of the house. She appeared to be successful.
Charlotte slept alone in the empty room the whole night.
It seemed Kennedy had accepted her proposal-them being husband and wife on paper, but not getting involved in each other's life.
Charlotte got dressed and headed downstairs to find a group of servants busy working.
She was just about to step forward and ask them where the kitchen was when a broom appeared under her feet suddenly. Charlotte failed to regain her balance, staggered, and fell forward uncontrollably.
"Ah!"
She was about to hit the ground when powerful hands lifted her up just in time.
Charlotte looked up, still in shock from the fall, and was met by a pair of kind eyes.
What's going on, my lovely sister-in-law?"
"Sister-in-law?"
Kennedy's brother, here.
Manfred Moore whispered, "My name is Manfred."
A cold voice said, "It seems like I've arrived at the wrong time," The voice said before Charlotte could respond.
When Charlotte turned to see the source of the voice, she saw Kennedy being pushed over by Nathan and that the man had a flimsy wheelchair.
He had a blanket over his legs. He appeared to be a proud monarch despite being in a wheelchair.
His steely eyes bore down like a dagger on Charlotte's face. Charlotte shivered as she met his cold gaze.
She didn't aware she was still in Manfred Moore's arms till after that. She hurriedly took two steps back to put herself further away before dropping her head reproachfully.
"It's unusual to see you at home, Kennedy."
At his younger sibling, Manfred Moore grinned.
Kennedy, on the other hand, had a different approach toward him; he simply nodded without making any facial expressions.
"Okay, I'll continue on my journey for the time being." Manfred Moore then turned to face Charlotte and murmured softly, "Dear sister-in-law, I have to go right away because I have to go to work."
Charlotte heard that and watched Manfred Moore go away while giving a blank nod. She heard Kennedy making fun of her as she swung away from Manfred.
Are divorced women in general this hopeless?
"You simply must be itching to woo men, don't you?"
When Charlotte heard such damning remarks, she regained consciousness. The question "What did you say?"
Kennedy had heavy circles beneath his eyes and completely black eyes. Charlotte sensed his dislike for her.
Biting her lower lip, Charlotte. "I'm not as evil as you think," I
"Really?" Kennedy enquired while sporting a sardonic grin on his lips. After all, the lowest women were the ones who couldn't keep their husbands.
"How is it possible to suggest that a lady who remarried soon after her divorce isn't nasty?"
Intensely angry, Charlotte balled her hands into fists.
He said she desired it, but did he truly believe that? She had been coerced into marrying him.
You'd better stick to your word and keep your distance from the Moores. I'll make you suffer if I learn that you are carrying out heinous deeds in the name of the Moore family or harbor any evil motives toward my family.
Kennedy turned before Charlotte could react and yelled to a man standing behind him.
"Nathan."
Nathan moved forward and swung his wheel and Kennedy was gone.
A maid arrived after they had left and bowed to her. The elderly master requests to see you, Ms. Christina.
The old master? Kennedy's grandfather?
As she stood there, Charlotte's palms began to perspire.
Before she went, her mother informed her that Charlotte was chosen for marriage over Christina since no one in the Moore family had ever seen either of them before.
"Will I be revealed now that I'm going to see the Old Master? Charlotte cautiously followed the maid in her wake as she gave all of it a second thought.
"Please, Ms. Christina. The maid answered with another curtsy, "The old master is waiting for you."
After saying her goodbye to the maid, Charlotte stepped warily into the study.
Like she had anticipated, the study was decorated with bookshelves and classical accents. The space appeared solemn due to the abundance of pens, ink wells, and paintings on the shelves.
Charlotte glanced around the room for only a moment before turning her attention to the person in the space.
Greetings, Old Master.
Charlotte's eyes met the Old Master of the Moore family's astute stare.
He silently observed her while not hiding his gaze.
Charlotte was abruptly anxious and lowered her eyes in perplexity as she realized she was Christina.
She was afraid Old Master Moore would see the shame in her eyes.
Kennedy had been briefly appeased, but what if Old Master Moore discovered she wasn't Christina?
"Christina."
"Huh?" After involuntarily raising her head to meet the old master's stare, Charlotte hastily lowered it.
Mr. Reynolds spoke in a serious manner and had piercing eyes. "Since he was a little child, Kennedy has had poor health. You must look after him in the future because you are married to him. I don't have to explain to you what your duties as a wife are, do I?"
"I get it," she said.
"Starting tomorrow, you'll serve as Kennedy's assistant?"
Charlotte's eyes shot up in shock as she heard what the elderly master said. "But-" "
"It was decided. You'll accompany Kennedy to work tomorrow and remain at his side."
He gave Charlotte no opportunity to say no. Old Master Moore made the decision for himself and motioned for her to depart with his hand.
Charlotte was hesitant, but she ultimately made the decision to leave her previous position and adhere to Old Master Moore's plan in order to prevent unnecessary arguments or disclosing her true identity.
Old Master Moore gave Kennedy the order to bring Charlotte to the office the following morning.
"I understand why you're reluctant to hire a personal assistant, Let her stand by your side to look after you since she is already your wife."
Old Master Moore spoke to Kennedy in the same tone that he used to speak to Charlotte, which caught Charlotte off guard.
What is happening? She figured that since they were a family, they would be close.
Charlotte was lost in concentration when she felt an intense stare coming her way; she immediately recognized the person.
Kennedy gave her a mocking glance and responded, "Sure."
Because she felt certain he would decline, Charlotte was a little taken aback.
"Okay, go ahead." Reynold's face became a little more sympathetic.
In his wheelchair, Kennedy sat.
Nathan was expressionless but nodded. "We'll head to the company first, Old Master Moore."
Kennedy had no choice but to follow Charlotte.
Kennedy scowled while they were in the garden.
"You have gotten along so well with Old Master Moore so rapidly! Do you intend to keep an eye on me?
Charlotte scowled in surprise. "I have no idea what you're referring to."
"Humph!" Sneering, Kennedy. "It's better if you don't get what I'm saying.
Otherwise..
