"Dad!" There weren't any answers but only silence. "Dad, please say something you are freaking us out. Mum, why don't you say something? Is it from the house again?!" Raymond and Emily asked their father for the second time but the silence remained. The struggle to get out of the room was held.
Hayden, their father stood shocked and silent by the paper he held in his hand. He instantly let go of the paper from his hand and it fell to the floor. Raymond quickly ran out from behind his mother, and then he went close to the paper lying down on the floor. He bent down to the paper and held it up. Slowly but quite frankly, Raymond opened the paper and saw strange writing which was written in Greek languages, however, because of his high grades in language, he knew what was written down on the paper. Same, with his dad he went consecutively silent. "Raymond says something, what's on the paper? Tell me!" His mother asked him, but still, the silence remained, not until shortly after his mother walked towards him and rapidly pleaded to him, and then he gave in. Raymond read out loud what was written on the paper envelope body, the paper specifically said, For only the occupants of the house. It read thus, 'Death, and suicide is valid of nature. You simply can't run from it. All humans are thought to possess the ability to commit to one. It is, therefore, not something to run from, because you all can't run from me! This is the time of horror!.'
"Ohh, no. No matter how much we try to run, we just can't make that possible, there is no way out." Raymond cried out as he sat down on the floor looking at both his parents. "Perhaps the house wants us to stay in for a while, right?" Emily said, but neither did she understand it was the opposite in this case. Words of encouragement were definitely not of help in this circumstance -because deep down, she knew there was no escape from the dreadful island. Slowly, she walked across the room with tears falling down her eyes, her hand to her feet shaking with fear. "Dad, if we don't make it out alive, I just want you all to remember that I love you all," she said, as she turned to look at Raymond and her mum. "Nonsense!, we are getting out of this, I brought us here in the first place, and I'm getting you all alive and well. I just expect you all to believe in me!." Hayden said with hope for the unknown,"Yeah, like we have a choice!" Raymond gave a rude reply to his Dad. "Hey, look at me I meant every word I said, I will get us out of this-" He did not finish what he was about to say, just instantly he noted that something was wrong with his kids, he asked, "What's wrong, Raymond, Emily what are you staring at?, do I sound funny, hm!"
"Dad, I want you to walk slowly and then run, immediately!"
"Why!" The quick reply came from Hayden, he was anxious to know what the problem was. "Because there's something behind you right now," Raymond whispered. "Emily now!" Immediately Emily threw a mirror at her Dad, he held it and directly turned to his back, and cut the monster that stood at his back."Yeah, you destroy it!"
"Come on everyone, we are getting out of here."
"Screw that Dad, screw this trip, I never wanted to come on this so-called adventure anyways. I want to go home, I miss high school. I don't want to die young, I just want to go home!." Raymond shouted angrily at his dad. "For goodness sake Raymond be calm, we all want to go home, or do you think you are the only one who misses home? News flash I do too." Raymond was perplexed he couldn't take in the yells from his dad, not being able to contain his emotions he burst out and let his emotions out freely as he teared up.
Just as they were talking about the matter on the ground, a push came from behind the door. It came very loud and clear enough that even the hairs in a deaf man's skin would rise and make him alert. "Who is that!?!" Quickly came the reply from Raymond's dad, he strode to the door with steady strips and looked through the doorway, and then he saw a few groups of people, mainly men who look like a walking dead. "It's them, they're here again!" Hayden said squarely. "Now what do we do Dad?" Raymond asked for answers. The only way to defeat the element of death was to fight back against them. Advantageous for them, the room was armed with year's long-term vintage weapons, which were used to fight Wars.
Hayden made brisk steps to the wall that had swords, which were placed on the side of the shield. Directly he pulled it out and formulated strength within himself. "Unlock the door, now!" He said, commanding Raymond to open the door so he could get outside. "Dad, do you know what you are letting out of your mouth? Are you sure you want to do this? It's a breakneck!," Raymond asked, with fearful gleams in his eyes. "Yes, I'm.., now open the door!." Instantly after the door was unlocked. The big clock on the ebony house wall chimed when it struck 11 in the evening, the rain began to pour heavily and thunder flashed while lightning was heard loudly from all corners of the house.
Mr. Hayden swiftly moved outward, utilizing his strong sword by slashing through deadly demons. The fierce fight went on under the downpours of the rain soon enough he was able to eliminate all of them shortly after. He stood under the downpour of rain as the blood of the demons went down his sword, some trees in the forest went ablaze after being struck by a thunderbolt. Numerous thoughts came to his mind, his knees squelching as it made way to the squelchy ground. "Why, don't you take me and leave my family out of this!" He cried out helplessly under the rain. "Sweetheart, come in please you will catch a cold. Come in, the rain is becoming more fierce than before, please bring Clinton to the house!" Mrs. Norman, his wife, screamed at him, but there wasn't any movement from him.
Raymond hurried off from the building, he got closer to his Dad, then he extended his right hand to his dad and said, "Dad, please give me your hand!" Just after he glanced at Raymond with tears in his eyes, he held Raymond's hand and got back to his feet. Shortly both of them were already the inns of the house. Quickly after Mr. Hayden, Raymond was in the house with the rest of the family, and suddenly, a sound was heard from the upstairs basement. "Something, is up there?" Raymond squeaked. Raymond's father said, "Don't worry about anything, I got this!"
"No, I will do it," Raymond's sudden speech was a bombshell that left everyone in the room thunderstruck; this happened as a result of Raymond's horrifying outlook towards the trip the whole time. "Raymond you? wait! wait for a moment, no offense Raymond you want to go upstairs?" Eily spoke with a downward smile on her face. "Maybe you didn't hear me, but I'm probably much I. I'm going up the stairs, and I need your sword!.."
"Here it takes! now go show those monsters whose boss." Handing over the sword to Ray, Emily made him believe himself. He left the sitting room, and then slowly, tiptoed upstairs. As he walked in the hallways of the house, the thunder flashed quite a bit of quick braking lights on hallway walls, lightning flew across the sky making the dark stairs get a glimpse of light, but still, Raymond didn't speak as he continued searching the house. A noisy thud was heard as an empty flower-a dropped drop from somewhere, Raymond shrieked "Grab yourself, Raymond, you can do this, you just have to continue..!" He thought to himself inwardly, as he walked shortly, maintaining his footsteps so it wouldn't be heard from whatever could be upstairs, so he thought.
He got to the second room on the right-hand hand side of the wall, surprisingly, the transpires were opened by themselves, this stage made Raymond speak because he knew no one opened the door before they downstairs aired. Slowly and generally he walked into the room. He heard a running downpour of water from the bathroom, then he went to the bathroom, and turned off the tap that controls the water which came out of the shower. Just as he was about to leave the bathroom, he felt something past him, and directly the tap to the shower went on again. "What!, but-..., but I'm just off this!" He stood confused in the bathroom shower. Then, again, he shut down the tap. Noises came throughout the building hallway, Raymond Couldn't even react to what he heard. He heard a voice from the man, it said, 'You all can't run from me...,' immediately, the voice went silent. Quickly, he tried to get from the bathroom, he got to the exit upstairs when an unknown force suddenly pulled his feet, he fell to the ground, and began rolling down the stairs.
"R-a-y-m-o-n-d...!!!" Mr. Hayden, timely swivels into action. Immediately, Raymond was saved and stopped from hitting his head on the floor. "Raymond, what were you thinking? you would have harmed yourself in what you just performed," Raymond's Dad had the thought of Raymond intentionally doing the fall to get his attention. "Dad! it wasn't me i promise. something dragged me down, i couldn't understand how, or know what it was, i just slipped down. I am sure it tried to kill me.
I don't think we can last longer than now Dad, I just want to go home! please!, and people!!." Right, at that moment, Raymond had already started shaking with fear, in his eyes, it would be seen, it seemed because he perceived danger ahead, and it could be told from his body movement.
He had never been that frightened before in his entire life.
eventually, the hidden truth had to be told before then...
"Dad! why don't you say something, anything?" Raymond cried for answers from his father. The thought had risen from the previous points that it was, nothing could be done. The mess wouldn't have gotten that wrong if he hadn't been so careless about the software on the game systems. "I'm sorry, we are all in this mess, I brought this upon us. From the very start, I knew something was wrong, I couldn't place my hands on who exactly it was. But now, I'm sitting, it's all my creations!"
"What do you mean by your creations? Oh, wait a minute, you knew what was happening, from the very start?"
"Yes, I did, and I'm so sorry for putting us in this. I've learned to leave with it. I really can't change the past few weeks we and every one in the country is facing. We just have to battle it out" he frowned in regret at his actions. "So what are we going to do now?" Raymond asked.
'The surprising truth!'
Instead, of answering the questions that were put before him, Raymond and Eily's fascinating in glancing at him as it was obvious that they didn't know what he was saying.
He stood up, lost in his own thoughts, and turned around looking and scouring his mind for explanations. He had thought about the numerous configurations and fragments of the tournament fiction, and an inkling immediately whacked up in his head. "Dad, if this was your creation, then you must carry a clue on how to terminate it," Eily added to the questions Raymond had asked earlier. "Let him reckon it out, he conceivably knows what he's doing!" Bella, his wife, answered the question on his behalf. Hayden who stood beside a wooden chair in the middle of the room concentrated on trying to think what the mission was all about,"Why can't I recollect anything, my head Is twirling faster by the second'' he continued to ask himself for answers. He would have remembered exactly what happened in the game, after all, it was his programming of the game that governed the mess. However, promptly before he had brought the game playstation home, he mistakenly missed his footsteps when he attempted to attain his house. The incident made him endure a head injury. Trying to remember how and when the game started, his head gave him a more painful headache every time the brain passed through his thoughts. "Dad! Dad say something please!" Out of his inquisitiveness, he had to beg for answers. "Don't you think I'm trying my very best on this matter? All I need is a minute of calmness from everyone, including you Raymond! for now, let me rest my head a little bit. Believe me, I'm trying my best to remember." Shortly, after extensive silence from everyone in the room, the clues of the game came into Hayden's head, he had only some few approaches to the answer which could detail their departure from the island house which had them caught up from every intersection. "I remember! I remember!! The clues which we need to win this level of the game. Raymond, bash the flower-vase on the right side of the staircase, the clue is there!" he said after greatly thinking. As he ordered, so did Raymond obey. Immediately, he hurriedly walked across the room and headed for the flower-vase and used his leg to kick it until it broke. It shattered open, and a piece of paper was dwelling on the sand of the flower-vase. Raymond went closer to the vase and bent down to pick up the paper. The paper was under his attention, so he opened it to see what was written on it. "The answer you are glimpsing for, dwelled inside my eyes, use your eyes and not your mouth to find me. You have only one minute to do that before this building is melted by a volcano!!" Those were the only words written on the paper. It became confusing when they thought about it. "What do you think this might be? Does the answer dwelled inside my eyes?!? Wow, this is unbelievable Dad, why would you do something like this huh?" Raymond squeaked. Hayden did not answer that question because he also did not understand what he meant by dwelled in my eyes. Rather, he said to his son,"Raymond, it's much better off when we work together as a family, I too want to get off this world. You should close your eyes and think about what the answer could be. Maybe we all should do it right now. We don't have much time to talk about this, it's five seasons gone, and yet, we haven't seen anything!" Raymond was quite a good and smart boy when it comes to games, he knew his father was right. It became clear that he was able to understand why the piece of paper and his Dad on the other hand, told him to close his eyes while they wait and use their brains to search for answers, something was up, maybe he got his memories back, just maybe, he did. Raymond said to himself. They remained calm and silent with eyes closed, for about a minute or so then opened it again. Raymond walked around the room slowly trying to dorvey everything in the room bit by bit, though there was much time before they were destroyed by the eruption from the volcano. The rules were simple, the players tried to look for the answers and if they made a misstep on that exact level, the ground slowly broke apart from each other until all the players fell into the hot lava. But if the player or players come across a time stone, they will go back to the past to start the mission. Raymond had proceeded to touch everything he could lay his hands on, he was then being followed by his little sister Eily. As they began to pick up the wrong things, the floors started coming apart from each other. Hayden's leg immediately got stuck by a rope that had a fire attached to it...
The house had begun to fall on itself, at that exact moment, they only had ten seconds of the game time, to find the clue around the house before it was completely taken down by the fire from the volcano eruption. Raymond tried all his best from the very first start, but his body was covered with sweat running from his head and arms down to his toes. He had one last try to find out what the clue was or they all met their end in the game world. Eventually, it meant their deaths in substantial life.
The game simply had 'No way out.' The rules of the games were simple; it was either you struggled to complete it or the player died to end the game. Hayden never wanted any of his family to have that option. Thereupon extensively making an effort, Raymond had to evacuate struggling, he attempted everything excluded in the game, but ultimately, nothing appears to be working out.Without a doubt, he just sat down on a stool that was in the front of the entire room. He overlooked the floor and held his head with his two hands. His thoughts had already intoxicated his actions to act. He didn't believe he could do it anymore, he held up his head and turned to his right-hand side only to see his father, struggling to get the rope off his body. On the other side, his sister and mother struggle with all their might to hold on to the last floor that reminds them of the room.
Subconsciously, after he turned to look at what was in front, something caught his eye. It was a painting of a man, it looked straightforwardly at him. Slowly but quite steadily, he stood up from the chair and walked towards the picture, he eventually got close, and a very little illumination of light flashed his eyes when he looked at it. Raymond became curious, he felt something was behind the picture, 'But what?' he asked himself while he went closer to have a better look at it but as he got closer to the picture, the illustration on the illumination became brighter through the eyes of the picture. "Something is behind this wall! I must know what it's!..." He said to himself inwardly. Gently, Raymond extended his hand and held the picture, he brought it down slightly slower than normal, his thoughts were right, and through the eyes, lies the answers they seek. The picture was the answer the whole time. "Dad! I found it, I found it!!" Raymond exclaimed, "Yeah, so I will finally get out of this game" Raymond had his hope up at the wrong time; inside the wall where the picture was placed, three things were also placed inside the wall. Firstly, it was a timer, it had the time of the players in the game and once it went off, the game was over. Secondly was the key to the next level of the game and only a player or players who found it could find themselves in the next level. Third, it was a stone, and if you had it, you could go back to the past. He stood confusedly in front of the options thinking about what to choose between all three of them, two things hovered in his thoughts, firstly, he didn't want to die just yet and secondly, his family was his greatest responsibility, both of them were important to him. Shortly afterward, the time got almost to its peak, and when it struck noon on the dot, the game would be over without a second chance. Out of the 11:59 and three seconds, he had to act fast. Finally, his mind was all made up, he immediately took the time stone as the time straightly struck noon. Everywhere became blank...

Subsequently, the sun was rising shortly after a very terrible and heavy storm, for it was hot like it had been rising all through the entire year. It seemed to be a new day of the morning in a mysterious and anonymous world. The scorching sun burned aggressively . It hit the barren land causing heat and dryness in the deserted desert. Shortly after the temperature came down, the brightness of the sky and the sunlight that shone on the entire family, made them open their eyes slowly only to find their self-explanatory lying on the bare ground in the middle of a deserted desert. The environment was unfamiliar to them all. Even though the land was deserted, It seems more beautiful than the real world. Immediately, Hayden noticed that the environment looked exactly like the one he made. Raymond had stood up earlier before them, he walked to the rest of them and helped them up. His father stood up to his feet without the help of Raymond. After much standing in the middle of where they found themselves, there wasn't any sign of help coming, no one came to their rescue. They had to move from there when they saw it was becoming late, they moved and tried to walk towards where they could find help.
However, their staggered became harder as they fell, it got to the point where their legs couldn't take the pains from walking under the desert without water, and they all fell back to the ground after much staggering. Hayden could still feel the pains in his head and all over his body while still on the ground. Then without delay, their eyes closed and they passed out. "Dad! Dad!! Open your eyes..." Raymond tried waking up his father from his dream state. The echo rang inside his head, he heard the call from a distance between a slight space from his thoughts. He woke up and saw an anonymous man sitting close to him on the ground. He used his hands to massage his head with a piece of cloth soaked with water. His eyes were finally opened and he could see clearly. The middle-aged man quickly noticed that Hayden's eyes were now open, he stopped what he was doing and fell to his knees. "Your majesty!!" The man immediately addressed Hayden as his king. Hayden, looked curious about what the man called him, he knew he wasn't a king, and he still couldn't remember the setup of the gaming, soon, series of questions came to his mind, but does questions wasn't that important to him at that moment, all he wanted to know was where he was. "Ummm...! Where am I? How did we get here?" He asked out of curiosity.
"Welcome to the badlands!" The man replied to one of Hayden's questions. He continued by saying, "No one comes here and goes alive''....
