I swear to God that you will pay for this humiliation, you damn bitch.
------------------------------------
It was noon, and she was heading to Golden Gate University, one of the best universities in San Francisco that only a few could enter. She walked with several of her friends while her best friend Jisoo, with her high-pitched voice, cheerfully told them about her weekend at a friend's house with her parents. They all laughed at some anecdotes that the brunette shared about that weekend when, just before stepping into the university, she bumped into someone, causing some of her heavy books to fall to the ground. She was seconds away from uttering an obscenity, but upon seeing who it was, she realized that an insult wouldn't be enough.
"Sorry, I didn't see you coming," he said in a tone dripping with sarcasm as she watched the pages fly out from between the books. "Hello, Katherina," he greeted, flashing that trademark smile that had the opposite effect on everyone else.
Have you ever had the experience where someone's voice sounds to you like the most unpleasant, repulsive, and undesired sound in the world? Well, something like that happens to Katherina, who got lost for several minutes in the man's voice, idealizing a thousand ways to break that face that all the girls except her consider angelic. She looked at him directly in the eyes in the worst possible way, while Stefany, another friend of hers, and Jisoo kindly picked up the fallen papers.
"Hi, Tom," said Jisoo, the dark-eyed girl, gruffly as she gathered the papers. "I thought you'd skip classes like you've done the whole damn week." Her tone was sarcastic and cynical; I must add that she can't stand Mikaelson. She thinks he believes he's the ultimate and he's not. That much was clear to her.
TOM MIKAELSON HONSON:
23 years old, from the outskirts of London. A guy some envy and others simply wish to see six feet under, including Jisoo, Stefany, Belinda, and Katherina herself. For the rest, he was the funny, egocentric, attractive guy that every woman wanted to have by her side... Well, idolized by half the university, not to mention that some female professors were probably equally smitten, maybe even looking for a way to get him expelled.
For the dark-skinned girl with a tough appearance and a strong temper, he was and would always be that damn idiot who thought he was a god. Or as Belinda - another friend of the brunette - described him: "the super fucking player of the university who thinks he has all the girls at his feet." She couldn't stand him, and she had every justification for it.
She hated even looking at his face, a face that all the girls in her class described over and over again without fail. His wavy hair that sometimes varied in color, but at this moment, it was black-brown; his beautiful brown eyes with hints of hazel that, according to them, made them melt.
A couple of idiots, she would say when she saw them in that illogical hypnotic state over a guy who wasn't all that. Belinda noticed how Katherina clenched her jaw, knowing perfectly well that her best friend was seconds away from pouncing on Tom...
"You're a..." the brunette began, and Belinda interrupted her. "Move aside," she said, practically pushing him, causing him to collide with one of the boys in the hallway. "You idiot, do you have your eyes in your ass or what?"
"I suppose, do you see them?" He turned around, and his backside faced Katherina, who had crouched down to finish picking up her books.
"Very funny," she said with a smile that her friends took as wicked. "No, on second thought, they're not there."
"So?" He crossed his arms, facing her again, pretending to care about all this. He had that smug look on his face that only made the brunette angrier.
"Katherina..." Jisoo called her softly. "Don't pay attention to him, it's not the first time."
Of course, it wasn't. Every time, at the same hour, he made her drop whatever she was holding, from her morning coffee to her art projects. Each time, she would insult him, deliver a powerful blow, and end up walking away while Tom remained unaffected and found it amusing. Katherina smiled without showing her teeth and spoke:
"Do you really want to know where they are?" She asked in a flirtatious tone, getting closer to Tom more than necessary. Her friends exchanged confused looks at her behavior. "Right here, you piece of idiot." Without hesitation, the brunette's knee delivered a harsh blow to the dark-haired guy's groin, causing him to let out a painful groan and fall to his knees. No one expected that, especially not Tom himself. "Mess with me again, and I swear on your disgusting face that next time, your balls will be hanging from the school's Christmas tree," she whispered close to his right ear, before giving him another punch and resuming her walk.
Each and every person in the hallway recorded everything that happened while laughing, assuming it was the best thing the girl they would join for any mischief had ever done. However, they knew that this was nothing compared to the slap she had given him a few days earlier for messing with her shy friend, Carlos. That, for them, was the highlight of their social lives.
Tom was still lying on the floor, writhing in pain, his hands between his legs, unable to get up.
"That was brilliant," his brother Harry said, laughing, pausing the recording on his cell phone. He was red with laughter and even more so at the pained expression on his brother's face. He knew what Katherina was like, and he wouldn't want to be an enemy of that woman. So, he was just friends with her, and they got along very well. But as they say: Keep your enemies closer than close. Be glad it wasn't on your face.
"Shut up, idiot," he said, groaning in pain. "Damn Katherina, damn bitch..."
"Do you want to die?" his other brother and half-twin of Harry, Sam, asked as he helped him up. "That's what you get for provoking her." He managed to lift him up, and the dark-haired guy put his hands on his knees, feeling the pain. "Both of them will be like tomatoes tomorrow," he taunted, and the rest joined in.
Tom glared at him and shouted for the others to leave. He stood upright, grimacing, and walked as best he could to his first class. When he arrived in the classroom with his brothers, he sat down as best he could due to the pain, while hearing the low laughter from the rest of the students and the attentions of most of the girls.
"That woman is an animal," said Dalia, the pampered blonde, a popular girl in the university and desired by most. She sat next to Tom and caressed his hair. "Does it hurt a lot?"
"Too much," he replied, pouting. "I think I need someone to ease the pain." He changed his tone to a seductive one, trying to attract attention.
"Sluts," Belinda muttered as she entered with Jisoo and their good friend, Carlos. "Did you see what Katherina did?" she asked Carlos.
"Yes," the dark-eyed guy replied, adjusting his glasses. "It was awesome," he added with a small smile.
"What's so awesome, huh?" Tom asked, now standing behind him. The dark-haired guy made him turn around, and Carlos clung tightly to his books. "How lovely," he said mockingly, and simply took off his glasses.
"Enough, Tom," Jisoo said, trying to remove his glasses. "He needs them, he can't see without them."
"Oh, really?" he sarcastically replied. "Four-eyes. Can you see me or not?" he pushed him while the others laughed.
"Idiot," Belinda said, giving him a strong shove. "Give me the glasses."
"Try and get them," Tom laughed, teasingly playing with the glasses as Carlos tried to see what was happening. The dark-eyed girl, Katherina, tugged his long-sleeved shirt forcefully, trying to take off the glasses. "Give them to me," she pleaded, but Tom only refused, toying with the glasses while Carlos attempted to intervene. He assured Katherina that it was nothing, but to her, it meant a lot. She was tired of Tom treating him like a punching bag and a victim of bullying. "Give them to me," she went towards him, trying to take them off. "Shut up!" She looked at the entire classroom, which was laughing, and they stopped when she yelled. This wasn't a joke for her. "You have five seconds and counting, Mikaelson."
"But look how scared I am," he pretended fear and laughed. "I won't give them to you." He smiled challengingly.
Katherina took a deep breath, patted each side of her body, and chuckled lightly, biting her lower lip in the same manner.
"Very well, Tom. If you don't want to give them to me, then don't." She spoke in a simple tone that only the rest and the dark-haired boy's siblings knew too well. "Sam," she called out, and the mentioned person put away his phone, which was recording, asking, "Yes?" "Step aside, darling." She asked, and Sam moved away while everyone watched. "Fine... you piece of garbage, I'm fed up with your 'I need someone to help me control my attention deficit' attitude." She mimicked his voice with humor as everyone listened. "I'll give you that attention, you know how? Like this." She went to her desk, took her skateboard and what seemed to be a script, and at the exact moment, she swiftly destroyed both in front of him, hearing the exclamations from the others and seeing Tom drop the glasses, rushing toward his belongings. "Thank you very much, Tom," she said, taking Carlos' glasses from the floor and putting them on him. "Can you see better?" she asked Carlos, who nodded. To her, the dark-haired boy was like a younger brother. "Well, why the furious face, Tom? They were just worthless things." She turned around and looked at him.
"You're a damn..."
"Goddess of giving space to garbage like you, I know, I know," she interrupted him with an egotistical smile on her face. Tom was as red as a tomato. "But I'm not done yet," she added, hearing a "what" from the others. "This is missing." She went straight to her desk, lifted it, and left the classroom. She threw it from the seventh floor, hearing everything shatter from where they were standing. "Was your phone in there?" she asked. "Well... I guess you'll have to buy a new one. I'm sorry." Her tone indicated that she didn't mean what she said, and she laughed. "I'll go to the coordinator's office before they call me." She passed by everyone, stepping on Tom, who stood still, filled with anger, shame, and humiliation...
-Miss Jackson, repeat once again the commitment you must make," said Director Kim Yeo-jin, leaning on the desk with both hands, looking at her over her black glasses. She had been pulled out of a meeting for the sixth time that week due to the somewhat rebellious behavior of the young girl with a dark complexion in front of her. That Latina, residing in America and living in San Francisco, with her attractive, tender, and sexy physique. And most boys knew it. Kim waited for her to say something. At that moment, she looked at him with defiance and annoyance.
"Again?" she asked, with a pout, to which Kim crossed her arms.
"How troublesome..." she muttered impatiently. "I've been sitting here for two long hours, repeating the same thing. Just let it be."
"I don't want to," said Katherina Jackson Collins, and she let out a frustrated sigh. "Repeat it again; it's an order."
"...I firmly promise," she chuckled softly, knowing she wouldn't keep her word. "Not to throw paint balloons again, not to drop desks from seventh-floor windows, like the one belonging to that idiot Tom. And for the remainder of the year, I won't do anything against any teacher, especially not against you, the principal. Are you satisfied now?"
"More than satisfied," replied Kim, collecting some documents and adjusting her glasses. "Please, Miss Jackson, refrain from getting into more trouble. It's embarrassing to call your... father to these meetings three times a week." She knew very well that Katherina found her father, Mr. Idris Collins, a very attractive man. He was a highly important businessman and desired by many, especially the principal. And Katherina was well aware of that, which amused her endlessly.
"Embarrassing that he comes to hear about the mischiefs I do?" She furrowed her brow and laughed. "Let's call things what they are. What's embarrassing is that you turn as red as a tomato when you see... Daddy." Looking toward the entrance, there he was in his black suit, exuding his typical egocentric and masculine air. "Him." She finished, and Kim felt her cheeks burning. "Hello, Daddy."
"Hello, sweetheart," he greeted, kissing her temple and gently stroking her dark wavy hair. "Good afternoon, Miss Kim," he greeted, removing his sunglasses, revealing his beautiful light brown eyes. "What has Katherina done now?" he asked, sighing. This was giving him more gray hairs than he already had. He knew his daughter was an incorrigible rebel, and all of this reminded him of his younger self. Except for the small detail that, unlike his daughter, he wasn't 50% covered in tattoos, although they were rather beautiful.
"Well..." He cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "Your daughter has been involved in recent issues with several students, including the student Tom Mikaelson," he said. "She threw his desk from the seventh floor."
"Because that idiot deserved it," Katherina spoke up, and Principal Kim asked her to moderate her language. "Tom started it, I asked him to behave and he didn't. I'm tired of it."
"But that's not the way to solve things."
"Then how? By talking to him like a preschooler? No, ma'am, that's not how I roll."
Her father looked at her sternly, and she felt like she was in trouble. The principal detailed everything she had done, and she felt her father's gaze could kill her.
"Wait," Katherina interrupted halfway through the conversation. "I've never threatened Mr. Creides. That Tom... He's a first-class liar. I haven't unleashed all my revenge on him yet," she whispered the last part. "I don't know why he's complaining, he starts it and I finish it."
"Is the damage to other people's belongings not enough for you?"
"Yes," she replied, and her father scolded her by exclaiming her name. "Oh no, I'm not going to say it was unintentional when it was. Tom deserved it, and I'm not done."
"What am I going to do with you?" her father asked, repressing a slight smile in his eyes. "Katherina, behave."
"Are you really..." Her father's darkened look silenced her; he was angry. "I already promised I wouldn't do it again..."
"We'll see," said the principal, handing Idris the citation to sign. "Thank you for coming," she said in the hallway of the large university. "I hope this is the last time."
"The last time you feel like kissing him," Katherina replied, tying her curly hair up in a high ponytail, noticing how the principal's eyes widened. She saw her handsome, loving father trying not to laugh. "Sorry, then," she raised her hands in a gesture of peace. "I won't say a word."
"Tuck in your sleeves," the principal requested, trying not to appear nervous. "You know tattoos are prohibited here."
"I know," Katherina said, and she rolled up the sleeves of her white sweatshirt even more. Kim rolled her eyes and sighed; this girl was going to give her a headache.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Daddy," Katherina said in a childish tone as she descended the stairs to the first floor with her father. "I love you, you know?" She shrugged slightly with a smile, but her father just looked at her disdainfully. "Sorry," she hugged him like a teddy bear. "Don't be mad... Dad!"
"...It's clear you haven't learned to understand your father," he burst into laughter, and Katherina looked at him seriously, crossing her arms. "Oh, come on, honey," he hugged her and kissed her temple. "I'll never be mad at you."
"Silly," she playfully punched his shoulder and laughed with her father. "I thought you were."
"You know that as long as you don't fail your semesters, everything will be fine. But please, try not to argue with that boy anymore."
"I'll try, father, but that idiot keeps bothering and I'm not like the others who let themselves be pushed around. Besides, he bothered Carlos."
- "Again?" he asked. He knew both Carlos and Tom very well. Carlos lived down the block, and Tom was a few blocks away. He was a close friend of their parents, who worked as entrepreneurs in their big company, and even they knew how their son and daughter got along.
They lamented that.
"He's an idiot, I can't stand him, always bothering me. What should I do with that idiot?"
"Put him in his place," she said, putting her glasses back on. "But not like this, thank you."
"However I want?"
"However you want!" she exclaimed quietly, giving her daughter a high-five.
Idris was one of those great and outgoing parents, loving yet respected and admired. He was more than just a cool dad, so to speak.
Katherina adored him with all her heart.
"Katherina!" That piercing scream, she knew who it belonged to. "Sir..." She lowered her voice upon seeing her best friend's father. "Hey."
"Hello," he greeted. "I'm leaving, sweetheart." He hugged her goodbye. "Goodbye, Jisoo." He nodded and watched him walk away.
"That scream of yours is going to make me deaf," Katherina said with a laugh. "What do you want? Aren't you supposed to be in physics?" she asked as they resumed walking.
"The teacher didn't show up," the sweet, playful, energetic, and beautiful Jisoo replied. "I have the latest scoop for you."
"What?" Katherina chuckled at her best friend's "journalist" expression.
"Everyone in the classroom is talking and mocking Tom right in his face because of what you did."
"Really?" she energetically laughed. "He deserves it, I hope they keep laughing."
"Exactly, he's about to explode, his face looks like a tomato," she laughed. "You're incredible."
"Me? Not at all." They both laughed.
"And besides, his little brother..."
"Again..." She rolled her eyes. "Why don't you just tell him you love him?"
"I don't love him," she contradicted. "I just want him with me," she said dreamily. Since high school, she had been fascinated with Harry, Tom's twin brother, and Katherina suggested that she tell him how she feels, but she always refuses. "He's like a planet," she added, and Katherina said to her:
"Is he that ugly?" She made a face and laughed at her weak friend's supposed hit.
"He's not ugly, he's freaking sexy," she bit her lower lip lightly. "If you could see him more closely, Katherina, he's divine," she emphasized.
"That's what you say about every man you see, like when you 'supposedly' said Antonio was a hunk - the arithmetic teacher. You claimed he was gorgeous without even seeing him, and it turned out to be the opposite. I've been teasing you about that all last year, and I still do," the brunette said. "Stop talking nonsense."
"But you have seen Harry properly, right?"
"Yes, but he's not my type. He's my friend and the brother of that jerk," she sighed. "What karma to have a poop like Tom as a brother."
"Enough." They laughed. "Are you going to the principal's office?"
"Yes," she replied. "I have to fulfill a commitment," she laughed. "Which I won't fulfill," Jisoo lightly punched her shoulder. She knew Katherina well, how tough and outgoing she is. She adores her for that. "Why the question?"
"Look, there's Tom," she said, and the brunette frowned. "He'll be punished too," she added, taking her friend's arm and quickening their pace.
"Let go," the beautiful being with blue contact lens eyes, Chan, appeared out of nowhere and said. He was a college football player desired by many. "He's mine, not yours," he stuck out his tongue, and Jisoo simply pushed him. "I thought you were going home?"
"The principal asked me not to, that idiot," she replied, greeting some friends from her class. She was very sociable. "And... Stefan?" she asked about the muscular brunette who was like a brother to her. "The idiot owes me $100 for the paint-filled balloon bet."
The three burst into laughter recalling the feat Felix, Bam, and Katherina pulled off on the math teacher. They raised the balloon filled with green paint to a certain height, causing it to fall on the teacher, who screamed like a preschool girl. It went viral on social media for months.
"Well..." Katherina said after a while. "Let me take care of the 'supposed commitment.'" She chuckled lightly. "Oh, it's so funny if they think I'll actually fulfill that. Let's go to break, okay?"
They all nodded, but Jisoo wanted to go with her so she wouldn't miss what she claims will be another fight with Mikaelson.
