Chapter 1 1

Master, they've taken the flower and burnt the forest where we buried our loved ones. " Lucas said.

They did what?" he barked. Who did this? " biting his lower lips.

It's.. the humans. Those ravaging beasts. They have started haunting werewolves. " Lucas said.

This calls for war! They've trespassed into our property, stolen our flowers and burnt our forest." he laughed mischievously. Run along lucas. Tell the council, we have a meeting tonight." he waved his hands.

As the moon set in the night sky, its rays illuminated the dense forest below. Crickets chirped in the darkness, their song pierced only by the occasional howl of the werewolves. The night was still, as if the whole world was holding its breath, waiting for what was to come. The moon's final rays faded into the horizon, leaving only the dim light of the stars to guide the way.

Amidst the stillness of the night, the sound of footsteps could be heard, crunching through the leaves and twigs on the forest floor. A low growl echoed through the trees, followed by a chorus of howls. The night seemed to hold its breath, waiting to see what would happen next. The footsteps grew louder, and the growls more ferocious.

The pack of werewolves came to a halt just outside the entrance to the cave, their eyes glowing in the darkness. They remained still, their ears perked, awaiting the instructions of their leader. Inside the cave, the Alpha sat with the elders in council, their voices low and urgent as they debated their next move. The tension was palpable, both inside and outside the cave. A decision would have to be made soon.

"Brother, you are blind to the truth," Ethan snarled, his eyes flashing with anger. "The humans have always wanted to control our forest, and they will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Your good heart has only led us to disgrace, and we are treated like common dogs."

Daciana's voice was calm and steady as she spoke. "Ethan, please do not be so hasty. The humans have not done this before. Perhaps there is more to the situation than we know." She looked at the Alpha, hoping to reach him with her words.

"Peace and purity? You sound ridiculous," he scoffed. "What good is peace if we must hide like the vampires? They run from the humans, living in shadows and darkness. We are not like them. We are wolves, we are strong and fierce. We were not made to run from humans. We will stand tall, and we'll roar."

He looked around, seeking support from the others, but their faces were stony. No one spoke, but their eyes betrayed their doubt.

Daciana countenance changed,

"You know nothing! We shouldn't be engulfed by rage. We...

As Daciana spoke, the Alpha held up his hands, signaling for her to be silent. Her face flushed with anger, but she stopped speaking. She sat back down, her eyes narrowed, her body tense.

The Alpha cleared his throat. "We are at a crossroads," he said. "We can choose the path of peace, or we can choose the path of war. I know that many of you are filled with anger and fear, but we must decide carefully. The future of our kind hangs in the balance."

He looked around the room, waiting for someone to speak.

As the Alpha looked around the room, a voice rang out from the entrance of the cave. "I have decided that there will be war!" Jack exclaimed, his voice echoing off the stone walls.

The other wolves turned to face him, their eyes wide. Jack's fur was bristling, his claws unsheathed. "We will feast on their flesh, and we will be victorious," he snarled.

"Enough!" the Alpha roared. "I will not allow this pack to be torn apart by war." He turned to Jack, his eyes flashing. "You will leave, now!"

"Father, I'm a weapon of destruction. I'll kill them. Just as they killed mom. " he snarled.

The alpha was taken aback by the mention of his wife.

If she was here, she would never support war." he said .

But she isn't! " Ethan snared. She's absent and only lives in our heart. We lost her to those cruel beings lurking in shadows, looking for souls to devour."

He went to the entrance of the cave

Look! They are waiting for your command, brother. Permit me to give them the go order. "

The alpha stood in the middle of decisions. His mind running far, he bit his lower lips.

"Your highness, if I may, I'll love to tell you that every action we take now, we'll face the consequences. " Daciana voice broke the silence.

Ethan gaze moved sharply to her.

"You lost your family to the humans.your beloved husband and your son to them. Here you are, defending them. A stare of disgust they'll give you from where they are. Have you forgotten the look on your husbands face when he died? He looked so innocent and your son, swimming in the shallow of pains. "A sly grin ran across his face.

The wolves howled, urging the alpha to declare war.

The alpha stood up, moved outside. The council watched as he matched majestically to address the angry pack.

"My beloved wolves, " the noise calmed as he said his first three words. "You want war?

The wolves howled.

He paused, waited for few minutes and continued.

"very well then, you shall not have it."

There was a low growl, followed by noise.

"Silence! As a 900 years wolf, I have seen what war has caused. The damages, the pain that both parties suffer. There is more than the eyes can meet. We are strong, yes. We are powerful, yes. But, I can't put your lives at stake to gain revenge. I have a question... " he remained silent for a while. "Can any one track the scent of the humans that causes this havoc? "

"I can!"Jack voice rang from his back. He has transformed back to human.

The alpha seemed to ignore him.

"Dad, I want to prove to you that I can be brave like you. I want to prove that I can be strong like you." he said as he touched his dad.

"There is nothing to prove, get lost! " he removed jacks hand from his shoulder.

As the Alpha struggled to keep his voice calm, another voice broke through the silence. "I can track their scent!" said Adolf. The pack turned to look at him, their eyes full of hope and expectation. The Alpha looked at Adolf, considering his offer.

The Alpha's voice was skeptical, but there was a hint of hope in it. "How sure are you that you can track the scent?" he asked.

Adolf's voice was full of confidence. "I've honed my sense of smell for years," he said. "I'm a crossbreed, so I've inherited the psychic ability of my mother. I can track everything."

The pack was silent, absorbing this information.

The Alpha nodded, his decision made. "Very well then, Adolf. Find the source of the chaos. Don't be seen, and don't engage. Just find out who did this."

Adolf nodded, and he turned to leave. He would track the scent, and he would find out the truth.

I will find the cause of this. "Adolf mumbled as he left. A sly grin on his face.

"The rest of you may go home," the Alpha said. "There is no need for more noise or commotion."

The pack obeyed, dispersing to their dens.

"I'm so disappointed in you, brother," said Ethan, his voice full of bitterness.

The Alpha let out a cold sigh, not even bothering to look at him. He knew what his brother thought, and he didn't care. He had made his decision, and he would not be swayed by petty emotions.

The Alpha watched as his brother, Ethan, disappeared into the night. One by one, the members of the council followed suit, returning to their dens. The moon was high in the sky, and the forest was silent. The air was thick with tension, and the night felt heavy with uncertainty. The Alpha stood alone, his mind racing.

"You know what you're hiding in your heart," Jack said, his voice low and dangerous. "You know why you don't want to take action. But I am more disappointed than Ethan. More disappointed than you can imagine."

The Alpha let out a low hiss. He clenched his fists, trying to control his emotions. But it was no use. Jack had struck a nerve, and the Alpha could feel his temper rising. He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself.

Jack turned and stalked off into the woods, leaving the Alpha alone.

"How long can I hide it?" the Alpha asked, his voice heavy with despair.

"As long as you are determined to hide it," Daciana replied, her voice soft and reassuring. "But you know that it will not last. Your emotions will betray you in the end."

The Alpha let out a heavy sigh. "They don't understand," he said. "They never will. They think I'm weak, that I'm afraid to fight."

"You're not weak," Daciana said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You're strong, brother.

Daciana green gown flowed behind her as she walked away from him. "You know," she said softly, "the prophecy will be fulfilled. I don't have much time here." Her voice was hushed, as if she were speaking to the wind.

"There is no prophecy!" he yelled, his voice filled with desperation. "I can't lose you!"

She turned to face him, her eyes filled with sadness. "I'm afraid it's out of our hands," she said. "I wish it weren't so. Good night, brother. "

She vanished into the thick night, leaving him to ponder and dive deep into his thoughts.

Chapter 2 2

"You're doing it all wrong," she said, her smile still in place. "You can't force yourself to wolf out. It has to come from within."

"But I'm no good at this," he said, his voice breaking. "Everyone else has mastered this, but I'm just a mess." He sat down, burying his face in his hands.

"Stop saying that!" she said firmly.

"You're stronger than you give yourself credit for. You just need to believe in yourself."

"Mum, why do you see good in people. " he asked.

"Because everyone deserves a chance to be good, Jack," she said. "People make mistakes, and they do bad things sometimes, but that doesn't make them bad people. They can change, if they want to. Everyone deserves a second chance."

"Even people like us?" he asked, his voice quiet. "I mean, we're different. We're monsters."

She took his hands in hers, her eyes filled with compassion. "No," she said firmly. "You're not monsters. You're just different. And different is not a bad thing."

"You're not a pup," she said, ruffling his hair affectionately. "You're a wolf. You don't bark or howl, you roar!"

He let out a small chuckle, the first smile he'd had all day.

"You're such a dork, Mum," he said, shaking his head.

She gave him a playful shove.

"You love it, and you know it," she said. "Now, come on. Let's go for a run."

As they were playing, Jack's father suddenly appeared, looking stern. "Has he transformed yet?" he asked, his voice cold.

"No, not yet," his mother replied, her voice calm but firm. "But he's trying, and he's making progress. He deserves a break."

"A break?" he scoffed. "He's the only one in the pack who hasn't transformed, and you want to give him a break?"

"Yes," she said, standing her ground. "I think it will do him some good. He needs time to relax and not feel pressured.

In a jiffy, the wind began to pick up, and dark clouds rolled in. Lightning flashed in the distance, and thunder rumbled through the sky. A heavy rain began to fall, drenching them both. Suddenly, there was a great crash of thunder, and the ground began to shake.

Jack's mother screamed as she was swept away by the floodwaters. His father tried to grab her, but he was swept away as well. The last thing Jack saw was their hands reaching for each other, before they disappeared into the darkness.

Then he woke up, gasping for breath, soaked in sweat.

His hair was matted with sweat, and his sheets were damp. He shivered, the memory of the dream still fresh in his mind. It had felt so real, so terrifying. He tried to shake off the feeling, but it clung to him like a shadow.

As he sat up in bed, he noticed a faint glow coming from the window. It was the moon, shining brightly in the night sky. It was as if it were mocking him, reminding him of how he couldn't save his mother in the that night.

With a heavy heart, he got out of bed and walked to the window. He opened it, letting the cool night air wash over him. It felt refreshing, like a cleansing rain. He leaned against the windowsill, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths. The breeze whispered through the trees, rustling the leaves. It was calming, and he felt himself relax.

"I can't be a coward for ever! I have to find not only my mum killers, but the people who burnt our flowers. They will pay for this! " he whispered to the night.

He climbed out of the window and onto the roof of his home, his bare feet gripping the wooden shingles. He sat there for a moment, taking in the night sky. Then, he shifted, letting his fur coat cover his body. He howled, a deep, mournful sound that reverberated through the woods.

Suddenly, he felt the change within him, and he let it take over. He ran on four legs, his long tail streaming behind him. He was free, racing through the forest at incredible speed. The trees blurred by, the wind in his fur.

He ran for what felt like hours, until he reached the edge of the forest. Before him lay a river, its waters glistening under the moonlight. He paused to catch his breath, and then he looked up at the sky. The moon was shining brightly, its light reflecting off the water. The stars sparkled, a million points of light against the darkness. He closed his eyes, and he felt at peace.

He sat there for a long time, lost in the beauty of the night. He felt connected to the earth, to the sky, to everything around him.

His nostrils twitched as he picked up a strange scent, one he'd never encountered before. It was faint, but it was there, and it was intriguing. He stood still, all his senses on high alert.

His eyes scanned the darkness, searching for the source of the scent. The moonlight reflected off the surface of the water, creating ripples that moved towards him. His eyes followed the movement of the water, straining to see anything out of the ordinary.

Like an experienced hunter, he moved into the covers of the darkness, waiting for whatsoever that would emerge from the water.

The being emerged from the water slowly, its tail swishing back and forth. It was blue, like the deepest parts of the ocean, and its hair was a pale silver, like moonlight on the waves. Its shoulders were broad and muscular, and its eyes were the color of the sea.

The creature swam closer and closer to the shore, its movements graceful and powerful. He watched it, transfixed, unable to look away.

"What the fuck is this? "he mumbled.

The being bowed its head, and its tail disappeared. It stood up on two legs, tall and strong. Its body was covered in shimmering scales, glinting in the moonlight. The scales began to change, melting away like mist, revealing pale skin underneath. It was as if the being was shedding its armor, revealing its true self.

He watched in awe, mesmerized by the transformation. It was like nothing he had ever seen before, a creature unlike any other.

A faint sound was picked up by the both of them, they turned to the direction. The river's surface was disturbed, ripples spreading out from the center. A dark shadow moved beneath the water, a blur of motion. Then, it was gone. The river was still and calm once more, as if nothing had happened.

A moment later, Adolf emerged from the trees, moving with a high speed.

"Maybe he found something. " he thought.

He waited for some minutes before trailing behind.

They arrived at the village and all the wolves gathered.

"What did you find, my son?" the Alpha asked, his voice deep and commanding.

Adolf stood before him, his eyes downcast. He was silent for a moment, as if gathering his thoughts.

Then, he spoke up"Master, just as we suspected, it was the humans. They used the flowers power to heal a baby girl."

"Was there any effect of the flower? "he asked

Adolf nodded slowly and said

"The little girl's hair glowed. Her wounds were healed. But, she was abducted by the people who brought the flower. They killed the parents, took her into the car and sped off. I tried trailing them, but they had lead in there car, scaring off my vision. This is all I have regarding this issue. " he bowed and moved into the pack.

They've taken her to conduct experiment. Humans would stop at nothing to evolve!" he laughed mischievously, then continued.

"The baby girl is a threat to this pack. I would have wanted you to kill her, but you can't contain the power of the flower. It will consume you and drain the life force out of you. Jack, trail her and kill her. You can contour the powers of the flower. Stop at nothing in killing her. Bite off her head and bring it to me. It's your destiny to kill her."

"Finally, a mission. I've waited my whole life. " he smiled.

"That isn't what the prophecy demanded. The girl should be brought here. "Daciana voice pierced the atmosphere.

"We can't lose you because of a dumb prophecy, sister."the Alpha replied.

You're making a big mistake," she protested. "Very well then, do as it pleases you. " she walked out majestically, her gown trailing behind her.

He turned to Jack and continued.

"You'll leave tonight.Adolf will be your partner in this mission. Leave, Now! "

They went into their den, brought out there back packs which contained some clothes and left. The wolves howled in unison as they left the forest.

"Race me! " Adolf said. Jack gave him a funny stare.

"Sure!mate. " he replied.

They transformed and sped off. Moving and over taking each other at each interval.

After few hours, they arrived at the city and met the unexpected: Civilization.

Chapter 3 3

"Man, this place is crazy! I don't know if I can handle it," said Adolf.

"Friend, we just got to New York and you're already talking like the locals?" Jack teased.

"I can't help it, man. I'm a half siren, half werewolf. I can read minds and pick up languages super fast. Just one of my many talents!" Adolf said with a laugh and continued

"But maybe we should blend in a little better. We stick out like sore thumbs in these clothes. Look, there's a boutique over there, let's see if we can find something that looks a little more... urban."

Jack nodded. "I'm down. It'll be fun to blend in with the crowd. Maybe we'll learn something new about the city while we're at it."

Sure! I'll try to show what's happening instead of just telling it:

As the two men approached the boutiques, the receptionist behind the counter gave them a friendly smile.

"Welcome, how can I help you?" she asked, her American accent warm and inviting.

Adolf stepped forward, his hand outstretched. "Just looking for a change of clothes," he said with a disarming smile.

The receptionist shook his hand, her eyes meeting his. Suddenly, her pupils began to change, shifting from round to slitted.

The receptionist blinked, then looked around, dazed. "I... I can't remember what I was doing," she said, her voice sounding drowsy.

"It's okay," said Adolf, his tone soothing and reassuring. "Just relax."

"Yes," said the receptionist, her words slow and slurred. "Just relax..."

Adolf turned to Jack. "Let's get what we need and get out of here," he said, his tone urgent.

Jack stared at his friend, his eyes wide and unblinking. He was speechless, frozen in place by the shock of what he had just witnessed. Adolf, on the other hand, seemed completely unbothered by the situation. He simply strolled over to the clothing racks, scanning them with a critical eye.

"We need to change," he said, his tone matter of fact. He plucked several garments from the rack and handed them to Jack, who took them, still confused.

"What did you do to her? " he asked.

Adolf glanced at him, his expression unreadable. "It's called a glamour," he said, his tone matter-of-fact. "I just used my werewolf powers to influence her mind, make her forget what she saw."

Jack's eyes widened. "Is that... is that ethical?" he asked, his voice shaky.

Adolf shrugged. "I didn't hurt her, and she won't even remember it happened. Sometimes, it's better to forget."

Adolf's eyes met Jack's, and for a moment, Jack felt like he was staring into the eyes of a predator. But there was also something strangely reassuring about the look, like a promise that everything would be okay.

"You don't have to understand it," said Adolf, his voice low and steady. "Just know that sometimes, the only way to heal is to forget."

There was a long silence, and Jack felt like he was suspended in time, caught between the past and the future.

"What about the CCTV footage? " Jack ask.

That has already been takencare off. She deleted it and blinded the camera. Save the questions for the hunt. "Adolf giggled and they left.

Jack's pulse quickened as he walked alongside Adolf, his footsteps matching the other man's stride. The city streets bustled with activity, but it felt like everything was happening in slow motion. Jack's senses were heightened, and he could smell the exhaust from passing cars, the musty scent of damp concrete, and the distant aroma of freshly brewed coffee.

Jack looked over at Adolf and noticed the other man's easy stride and relaxed demeanor. He seemed completely at home in this city, like he knew every nook and cranny.

"You seem to know this place like the back of your hand," Jack said. "How did you get so familiar with it?"

Adolf smiled and shrugged. "I guess you could say I've been around the block a few times. But let's not worry about that now."

They moved for some minutes through the roads until they reached an old building.

The building stood talll, as if wanting to pierce the sky.

"Where's this? " jack asked, his face without expression.

"It's an old building. Legend says it houses the most powerful demons and witches. Only the purest heart can survive a night. " Adolf said, avoiding eye contact with jack as his gaze is fixed at the building.

"Really? Well, why don't you save those stories for the kids in the packs. " he threw a bunch on Adolf abdomen.

Adolf let out a loud laughter, revealing his canines and incisors.

They stood at a shade, waiting till night fall so they'll move undetected.

The sun went down and they pushed pushed open the rusted doors of the abandoned school, stepping into the dim, dusty hallway. They moved cautiously, their footsteps echoing off the walls. As they made their way down the hall, they passed room after room, all of them empty and eerily silent.

Eventually, they came to a science lab. The room was filled with dusty equipment and broken glass. They looked around, and then laid down on the floor. They were both exhausted, and the hard floor felt like a comfortable bed.

As the moon rose higher in the sky, its light streamed through the broken windows, casting long shadows across the floor. Jack shivered, his body trembling as he felt something change within him. Slowly, he felt the fur begin to grow on his skin, his fingers elongating into claws.

"Jack! What's happening to you?" Adolf exclaimed, his eyes wide with fear.

"I don't know!" Jack cried, his voice deepening as he spoke. He felt his body transform, his senses heightening as he became more animal than human.

As the transformation took hold, Jack could feel his humanity slipping away. All he could think about was the blood pulsing through his veins, the animalistic urge to hunt and kill. His eyes turned green, his teeth sharpened, and his body became covered in thick, matted fur. With a howl, he leapt at Adolf, his claws outstretched.

Adolf's heart pounded in his chest, his breath coming in short gasps. He scrambled to his feet, just barely avoiding Jack's attack. He knew he had to keep his wits about him, to outsmart the beast that was his friend.

"Jack, stop!" he cried out, his voice shaking. "It's me, it's Adolf! You're not yourself! Please, try to remember who you are!"

But Jack was no longer listening. His entire being was consumed by the hunt, by the need to feed. With a roar, he charged again, his eyes wild and bloodthirsty.

As the wolf leaped towards him, Adolf closed his eyes and focused his mind. He tried to reach out to the part of Jack that was still human, still rational, still his friend. He felt his telepathic powers flow out of him, like a wave of energy, wrapping around the wolf and engulfing it. For a moment, the wolf froze, its eyes glazed over.

And then, the wolf's jaws snapped shut, inches from Adolf's face. The beast let out a low growl, its fur bristling.

Just as it seemed like all was lost, the wolf suddenly lowered its head, its tail wagging. It nuzzled Adolf's hand, letting out a soft whine. For a moment, Adolf felt relief wash over him. But then, the wolf's eyes turned cold and hard, and it lunged forward, knocking him to the ground. It tore at his skin, ripping and shredding, blood spilling everywhere.

Adolf cried out in pain, but he refused to give up. With all his might, he fought back against the beast, trying to break free from its grasp.

The wolf's claws and teeth tore at Adolf's flesh, ripping him to pieces. Blood spattered across the floor, pooling in the cracks and crevices.

Jack bolted upright, gasping for breath. As his eyes focused, he realized Adolf was still alive. He looked around to see if there was any blood stains, but found none.He looked over to see Adolf standing next to him, a concerned look on his face.

"It was just a nightmare," said Jack, trying to catch his breath. "But it felt so real."

"It's okay, you're safe now," said Adolf, putting a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Want to talk about it?

"I rather not say. " he mumbled.

"That's okay, you don't have to share if you're not ready," said Adolf, his voice gentle. "But if you ever want to talk about it, I'm here to listen. No judgment, just support. Okay?"

Jack nodded, grateful for his friend's understanding. "Thanks, I appreciate it," he said. "Can we just... move on from this? I'm feeling pretty shaken up."

"Let's just retire back to sleep. " Adolf said.

"That sounds like a good idea," said Jack. "I could use some rest after that nightmare."

Adolf nodded. "Just try to relax, and focus on your breathing. Deep breaths, in and out."

Jack took a deep breath, then another, until his heart rate started to slow and he began to feel calmer. He closed his eyes, letting himself drift back to sleep.
