Rosa Pov

I opened my eyes lightly and close it back immediately because of the sunlight that was showing in my room.

"Rosa, woke up you know we've a long way to go so get your fucking damn ass from that bed"my mom screamed loudly and I smile.

My mom will never seems to amuse me with her funny language.

I stepped down from the bed, went inside the bathroom.

"Hello bird!"I said to the bird outside my room window.

"Am moving into a new town and am gonna miss you so much"

The bird waved his feathers at me.

After having some chip chat with the bird.

I grab my toothbrush and toothpaste,apply a little on it.

After that I pull off my clothes and step into the shower, enjoying every bit of it.

You guys are wondering why I didn't introduce myself.

Gosh!!

Pardon my manner..

Am Rosa Scott,am 19 years old and I live with my mom.

She is my everything,I love her so much and I can't trade her with anything.

We just lost my dad a week ago and my mom can't bear the pain of staying here because it reminds her of my father.

So we're moving to Canada.

And am going to start a new college over there.

Cool right?

But am gonna miss my friends,Ella and Susan.

"Are you done Rosa?"my mom called out as I heard her footsteps in my room.

"Almost mom!"I replied causally as I stepped out from the shower,use my towel to clean up my hair.

When I came into the room, she was gone.

After some few minutes,I was done with packing my stuff and my books.

I applied a little make up on my face.

"Mom am done!"I said to her the moment I entered the parlor with my luggages behind me.

She stared at me and said"Rosa I know you are against us leaving this house"she said looking around the house.

"But you know am doing it for your own good alright?"

"Yes mom,I know"I replied smiling,I don't want her to think that am not happy with it. She has been through a lot.

"Mom am hungry"I pouted out like a baby.

"Don't worry sweetheart,we will take some coffee along the street but for now let's go"she said as she drag the luggages outside.

I stand for some minutes, look around the house,the garden where I usually plant flowers.

My bird was still on tree.

Then my favorite spot,dad and I play in that place whenever mummy is on her trip.

I smiled..

"Bye dad,I will miss you and this house but you will forever be in my heart okay"I stuttered as I clean up the tears that was gathering in my eyes.

"Rosa let go"my mom called out to me and I stared at the house for the last time before walking over to the car.

Mom has already load the truck and everything so I just entered inside the car while mom was at the first seat.

The engine of the car and started and we move.

"I hope I will enjoy my new house and college, make new friends"I muttered to myself as I stare outside the window.

I put on my earphones...

Bought out my dairy, wrote down my new year wishes.

"I wish to make mom proud!"

"I wish to leave a simple life with no stress"

"I wish to write all those stories that are in my heart but I don't know where to start from"

That was my new year wishes, with that I slept off into the land of gold.

I was felt someone taping my shoulders but I was too weak to open my eyes.

"Rosa!"I heard my name from a distance.

"Will you open your damn eyes!"I felt a light slap on my cheeks and I opened it immediately.

"Goodness!mom why did you slap me that way when we have not gotten to ca....."my voice was cut short as I look over from the car window to behold a beautiful mansion In front of me.

"Who has this house?"I asked nobody in particular as I trying to recover from the sleep.

"This is our new home,we are in Canada"my mom said as if she was reading my mind.

"Oh my gosh!!"I stepped down from the car.

"Mummy you mean this house is ours?"I asked her.

"Yes Rosa, this is our new home now start packing those stuff inside"my mom said but I was still lost in thought.

"Rosaaaa!"she screamed loudly in my ears before I turned to look at her.

"Mom do you want to break my ear,the one that God gave"I said in an angry expression.

"That was the only way to bring you back to your senses young lady"

She went inside with some of the stuff.

Without hesitating, I carried the luggages inside.

"Wow!"I mouthed as I stepped into the parlour.

"Mom this house is beautiful"I said dropping the luggages on the floor.

"Yes I know but go and get those stuff Immediately,we need to start cleaning up this house"my mom said.

Seriously she is a joy killer.

She will not allow me to admire this beautiful house.

After packing everything inside,mom asked me to go and decorate my room the way I want.

I ran upstairs.

I chose the room that was close to a tree.

"Wow! awwww my goodness!"

The view from the room was wonderful.

I bought out my bed,my books and everything.

I start by arranging my stuff in the closet.

After that I packed my books one place.

By the time,I was done with the arrangements.

I was really exhausted and hungry.

I went downstairs and thankful mom was preparing rice salad.

"Aww!the aroma is sweet!"I said as I hug my mom from the back.

"Are you done with the cleaning?"she asked.

"Yes mom"I replied.

"Okay food will be ready in a few minutes"

I can't wait to eat so I opened the freezer, took some apple.

After some few minutes of silence i said.

"Mom when am I starting school?"

"Probably next week"she replied.

"But next week is too far and I don't want to miss anything in school mom!"I cried out.

At is me for you,I hate been late in everything I do.

"Okay, I'll get some information from the internet"

"Which kind of information?"I asked.

"The school that is best for you"

Oh

"Okay mom"

I kept quiet and enjoyed my apple ...

But what will I studied in school.

That question has been in my thoughts for a very long time but I don't have the answer for it.

"Food is ready"mom announced as she dish out some food in a plate.

I grab my fork and follow my mom to the dinner.

We ate in silence, nobody made a noise.

That is the rule my dad bought out.

After eating,I drank my juice and waited patiently for mom to finish hers...

"Are you done mom?"I asked and she nod her head.

I took the plates away.

"Mom let watch some movies"I said to mom as I grab the television remote.

"Rosa I have some important work to do so enjoy your movie"mom replied as she stood up from the couch.

"Okay!"I replied feeling a little bit angry.

She is always busy.

I can't remember the last time we sat down together and watch TV.

I went straight to my room not having the feeling of watching TV anymore.

I bought out my iPhone from my purse, dial Ella's number and it went through.

"Hello baby girl!"she beamed.

"I hope you are enjoying your new home?"she asked.

"And I hope you have made a new friend,I mean boyfriend?"

"Am fine Ella, what of Susan?"I asked ignoring the other question.

"She is alright but just missing you"

"I miss you too"I said.

"Okay we'll talk later,my mom is asking of me"Ella said.

"Okay bye"I replied causally and the call disconnect.

What Ella said replay in my mind.

"Boyfriend!"I said feeling a little bit nervous.

"Am not ready for that"I muttered to myself as I went over to the window.

I can see some houses through the window. But we don't have neighbor.

After viewing the house for some minutes,I retired back to my bed.

Feeling tired and sleepy..

I allow the sleep to take over me.

The next morning

Rosa pov.

I was already awoke ready to start my morning duties when my mom called me inside her room.

"Good morning mom"I greeted peeking her on her cheeks.

"Morning dear how was your night?"

"Fine mom!"

"Rosa guess what?"mom said and from the looks on her face and seems happy.

"I can't guess, just tell me!"

"Okay,I have found a school for you!"she said and I felt happy.

"Which school?"

"The school is in the next state!"she replied.

"Why that far,I mean how will I be going from home to school in that long distance"I said seating close to her.

"Actually the school is a boarding school"she replied and Immediately I stood up from the bed.

"Boarding school??"

"Mom why boarding school?"

"You know am always busy so I might not be in the house with you everyday so you need to be with people around you"she explained.

But that explaining did not go well with me.

I mean why will she chose to enroll me In a boarding school.

"Okay momma,I was doing something in the kitchen can I go?"I asked avoiding her gaze.

"Rosa!"she stood up from the bed.

"I understand how you feel but I can't leave you here alone so that why I chose to enroll you in a boarding school but don't worry you will make a lot of friends"she said as she stroke my hair.

"I understand mom"

"I will send you the details in your phone so that you can see the school is"

"Thanks Mom!"I replied.

With that I left her room and went over to the garden outside.

My mom is the best woman ever but the problem I have with her is that she is always busy.

My phone rang and I look into it.

She has sent me the details.

I opened the details.

I read some of the things in it.

The name of the school is Gina high school and the owner of it named it after her daughter.

The school envelope looks good even the hostels.

"This school will be interesting!"I said as I click on the link that said apply for an admission.

I wrote down everything about me and click send.

"Rosa how do you see the school!"my mom asked from the window.

"Looks interesting mom!"I replied smiling.

"I thought you that you will love it"

"Yeah!"

"Come inside let eat breakfast am almost late for work"

I ran inside.

I hope I will really enjoy my new school

Rosa POV

I rushed inside the house to prepare mom's breakfast before she leaves for work.

"Mom what do you like to take?"I asked from the kitchen.

"Prepare paste at least it will be fast because am already late for work"my mom replied from her room.

That is my mom for you always busy to the extent that she never make out time for me.

Even the first day I saw my period,my dad was the one who lectured me on. That's to show you how busy mom is.

Am still waiting for reply from the school I applied for. But thinking about that school gives me a strange feeling,like am happy that am going to be living in school but still sad about something which I can't place my hand on.

Whatever this is am ready to face it.

After preparing the pasta just the way mom used to like it,I dished out some for her and took it to the dinner table.

"Mom the food is ready"I said as I shifted one of the dinner chairs,sat on it.....operating my phone.

After some minutes mom descended from the staircase looking so beautiful with her silver dress and light makeup.

Coming to my mom's beauty and complexion,I look exactly like her.

"Aww!!!the food aroma is yummy baby how did you prepare this pasta?she asked as she opened the plate and dip in her hands.

"Dad taught me!"I replied sadly.

Mom face expressing changed.

"Mom don't worry ok"I said to her because the next thing she is going to say is am sorry and am tired of hearing it.

"Enjoy your meal mom"

She ate some and stood up.

"Mom are you done?"I asked in a Suprise manner looking at the food which she has not eaten half of it.

"Yes baby take care of yourself"she said kissing my cheek.

"You too mom have a great day at work!"I replied as I stood up from the chair and escort her outside the garage.

She went into the car and within a minute the car was already out from the company.

I smile and dip my finger into my hair thinking of what am going to do today.

"What will I do now,this house is going to be boring for me!!"I said glancing around the company probably looking for someone to play with.

A message beep into my phone and I look into it.

"Oh my goodness!!"I screamed loudly jumping around like a kid.

"You have been offered an admission in Gina college and you are expected to resume next week!!"I read out the message.

My joy was massive.

I can't believe I have gotten an admission into one of the best school in Canada.

Mom will be happy to hear this.

All of a sudden,I felt someone passed my back. I turned immediately but nobody was there.

"Hello anyone there?"I asked walking around the garage.

"Welcome Rosa!"someone called my name and I flinched.

Fear crowded my soul as I stood in one spot unable to move or say a word.

"Who are you?"

"Show yourself!" I summon courage to talk but my legs were shaking.

The person didn't reply instead a wind blow me down to the floor.

With that fear,I ran inside my room and lock the door.

"Am leaving this house tomorrow!I mean I can't stay here till next week!"i stuttered.

I ran on top of the bed,covered myself with the duvet... within a sec I slept off.

Maybe is just my imagination that is playing with me.

"Rosa open this door now!!".

I heard someone voice but I was feeling too sleepy and weak to open the door.

"Rosa what is wrong with you huh!"the person tapped my shoulder with full force.

"Who is that person?"I asked opening my eyes slowly,still feeling blurry an image was standing in front of me.

"Rosa are you okay!"the person uttered again and the voice looks like mom's own.

"Oh mummy you are back?"I asked.

"What is wrong with you,I have been knocking at your door for some minutes but no response"mom lamented bitterly.

I didn't say a word instead of replying her,I stared at the garage.

The event that happened flash back into my mind.

"Mom s....!"I stop halfway.

"What if mom doesn't believe me!"I wonder in my mind staring into her face.

"Go on!"

"I have been offered an admission"I said

"Wow am so happy for you baby!"she uttered hugging me so tight.

"When are you resuming?"she asked as she sat down on the bed.

"Tomorrow mom!"I replied.

"Wow perfect timing!!"she giggles.

Why is she so happy!

"Mom why are you early today?"I asked standing Up from the bed.

"Actually Rosa am having on a trip to London with my boss tomorrow"she replied.

Hmm!!!

Holy moly!!

No wonder she is so happy with me going to that boarding school tomorrow.

"Okay "I replied causally.

"So we need to go to the market and buy what you need for school"she uttered.

"What do you think?"

"Nice mom!"I replied.

"Okay fresh up,I will be in the kitchen when you are done let me know so that we go early for the shopping before the rain starts....look at the cloud"she said and I turn my back to my window.

The cloud was looking so moody.

"Okay mom i will be fast"I said as I went to my closet to pick out a dress.

"Okay I will be waiting!"mom uttered walking out from my room.

Thank goodness mom will not be staying in this house.

I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower.

After that I applied my body lotion and wore my pant and bra.

I put on my dress and collected a snickers from the place I kept it.

Looking at myself in the mirror and I felt satisfied with my look.

"Mom am done"I said walking over to the kitchen. Mom was busy with a cup of coffee.

"Come and take some"she said passing in the coffee to me but I nod my head and said "no mom"

With that she drank the whole of it and we marched out from the kitchen to the garage.

Immediately we approached the garage I ran into the car.

"What is the problem?"mom asked.

"Nothing"I replied and she entered into the car and drove out.

How will I tell mom that I heard a strange voice in the garage. Gosh!she will not believe me.

We drove around the town till mom stopped at a supermarket and we alighted from the car.

"Just go inside and pick whatever you want!mom said.

"Are you not going inside with me?"I asked.

"I have some.......!"

"You have some documents to work on!"I said cutting her off. I already knew what she wants to say.

"You are right,I will stay in the car and wait for you!"she said entering into the car and I hiss.

I walked into the supermarket.

I was confused on what to buy,I have never lived in school before so am wondering what to buy.

I bought out my phone and browse what a boarding school student need.

It bought out a lot of stuff.

I went to where milk and milo where kept,I collected two of them with some biscuits.

To crow it all,I bought a lot of stuff.

After that I paid for it and went outside to meet mom

"Am done!"I uttered opening the door and went inside.

"Okay let go!"mom replied dropping the file on the seat and took off.

I bought out my phone and look at the school I will be attending from tomorrow.

"Rosa are you ready for this!" My inner mind said to me and I nod my head.

"Am ready"I muttered to myself.
