My drunken stranger

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts" Annastasia read aloud a quote she saw on a company's board while sitting in the taxi heading to work

"What a damn quote to start the day" she said and sighed listening to music all through the ride the taxi came to a halt and she alighted and she walked to the cafeteria to get a cup of coffee then walked to the company

She walked elegantly into the company, then into the elevator and on reaching the C.E.O's office department, she put on a smile

"good morning" she greeted everyone seated in the office department, she took her seat in front of her table sorting out some files on her table when someone wheeled his chair up to her side

"Woah! Miss Annastasia, you must have finished preparing for the opening speech for you to be carefully sorting out your files" Sven a partner at work said with a smile on his face

"Huh?" Sia said looking like she didn't understand what he just said and then recalled that she had to prepare for an opening speech

"Oh f**k! the opening speech" she said in a hushed tone trying not to gain the attention of her co-workers, she quickly stands up looking from right to left not sure of what to do

"Wait! you aren't trying to tell me you haven't prepared for the speech" you f**king kidding me??" Sven said as Sia just stood there confused and Sven slapped her shoulder

"Come back to your senses and get your @ss on the chair, this is an opportunity you are given but you want to f**k it up??" Sven scolded and Sia calmed herself down taking a deep breath and quickly took her seat, she began typing into the system while Sven helped her out by looking some things up on the internet

The chairman has called her into his office earlier that week and has explained to her about the launching of the new company for Lawnson Group, he had said that Sia had been the most hardworking in the department for the past two years and he personally asked her to give an opening speech at the project launching but here is the almighty Sia who is not even sure of what to say when the event is bound to start in less than thirty minutes..........

Sia arrived at Lawnson Group fashion house in her elegant red straight gown which was silted down to her thigh, she stopped looking at the name and sighed before walking in, she walked to the hall where the event is to take place and soon the event started and after a little speech from the master of ceremony, Sia who was lost in thought and obviously nervous not having come prepared heard her name

"Miss Annastasia Ruby"

"Yes!" she screamed out to the crowd and everybody turned to look at her, she has been called repeatedly for quite a while without giving a response

"Yes sir!" she answered again

"Please come over" the MC said and she walked over to the stand where she was asked to give an opening speech and she sighed before taking the microphone then smiled

~Few hours later~

"Sia, the chairman would like to see you" Sven said to Sia who had her head glued to the table ever since she came back from the launching event

"Are you serious??" she asked raising her head up from the table

"Yeah, he asked to see you and his ugly face was damn cold, did something went wrong at the event?" Sven asked obviously curious

"I will tell you after work" Sia said to Sven tapping him on his shoulder, she walked to the C.E.O's office, adjusted her cloth and sighed multiple times before entering

"Good morning sir! i mean good afternoon sir" she said with a slight bow not sure of what to say

"Miss Annastasia" what the hell was that show you pulled up at the opening event, you could have told me you can't fuvking do the simple job! the chairman shouted banging his hand on the table

"I'm sorry sir"

"I thought it would be an honour to have the most hardworking person working for me have a role at the event but the damn hardworking person i had chosen made them laugh at us??"

"I'm very sorry sir" Sia said and bowed for seconds

"Forgive my negligence to work, i will work hard from now on" Sia said sincerely apologizing

"Forget about it, you have disgraced the almighty Lawnson Group and you have to take a break" the chairman said facing his table trying to continue his work

"What??" Sia screamed loudly

"You heard me right" the chairman snapped not even sparing her a glance

"Mr. Chairman, seems like you don't understand the situation clearly, i sincerely apologize for the event but you can't cut me off like this, i have worked hard for the company!!" Sia yelled sounding a bit rude although she's trying not to be rude

"Exactly! that's why i will go easy on you cause you've been hardworking, you will be transferred to Lawnson Group fashion house from the start of next week"

"Sir??" Sia exclaimed, is this old man sh*tting me right now?? she screamed crazily in her head

"Do that or quit, nobody gets an opportunity like this from this old man but you get one because you have been devoted to the company" the chairman said showing Sia out of his office

~After Work~

"Sia, you promised to tell me what happened at the event earlier, what the hell happened that made you this moody" Sven asked seeing the mood Sia had been in ever since she came back from the Chairman's office

"I f**ked up big time Sven..............."

She smiled and started her speech

"My name is Annastasia Ruby" she said and bowed,

"Today, We are opening our new company............"

Sia said as everyone expected her next speech but she wasn't able to say anything, she suddenly forgot the name of the company, nobody knew what came over her but she lost all confidence

"Let's go with a round of applause" she added and rushed down the stand as everyone started laughing instead of clapping

Sven laughed real hard when Sia explained her ordeal to him

"You really did mess up, it was an opening speech of course, he would have assumed that you clean it up without a speck of dust but you shocked his @ss real hard" Sven said and started laughing again

"So what did he say, the chairman?"

"He got really mad at me and now i'm getting transferred, holy shit!!"

"Really? to where??"

"The new fashion house"

"Ooh! that must be damn hard, got to start from the scratch" Sven said and laughed again when his mind went to the opening speech his friend gave at a launching event

"You are really something, Annastasia" he added

"Get the f**k outta here , you don't have to see me off, i can catch the bus on my own, you are freaking me out right now" Sia said angrily to Sven

"I won't get to walk you here anymore since you are going to start from the scratch now" Sven said and started laughing maniacally again and then became silent seeing how Sia eyed him

"Right! it's not funny" he said and they continued walking, just accept it let me walk you" Sven said holding Sia by the shoulder

The chairman sat in his chair and put a call across to someone who made him call twice before picking up

"Hey you!, why didn't you showed up at the opening event, is this the C.E.O who would be heading my new company??" The chairman screamed to the other end of the phone

"Omg! Dad! you are so loud, i wanted to attend but i was busy, looks like it went well, one of your employees even made the people laugh, damn!! it was so hilarious" Ryan the Chairman's second son said laughing from the other end of the phone and the laugh made the chairman angry

"Arrgh!! Lawnson Group is doomed!" the chairman said hanging up

"First was the damn employee and now my son who finds it funny........" the Chairman muttered angrily

Ryan smiled seeing his Dad has hanged up, he walked to the dinning table and gulped the glass of wine he left there before going for his phone, he then smiled after drinking the wine and then he remembered the company again and sighed.

Ryan Lawson the second son of Lawson Group

He has always liked fooling around and enjoys doing all he wants, he never wanted to be trapped in the company matters but looks like the bait finally got him, his Dad is not gonna listen anymore to his whining and what frustrates Ryan the most is the fact that it is a company which has to be built up from the start, he has to work hard to show that the fuçking business is really putting through!!!

It's the weekend and everywhere seems boring, watching the T.V and eating noodles too is boring and all she could think about is the company she's being transferred to, she searched through her contact and didn't know who to call, then she saw her School Alumni group chat

"A get together party?" she said aloud and checked the time and venue

"It must have started already" she said and quickly dressed up then head out

Cheers!! they shouted at the top of their voices and clicked glasses together then drink, Sia had a lot of beer and soon couldn't get a hold of herself but she kept drinking

"Glad i could get the damn company out of my head" she said calmly in her head

"Reyna?" Ryan said to the other end of the phone,

"Why is she here? thought she would be coming to New York City by next week, let her in, i will be there in a jiffy" Ryan said to the voice at the other end of the phone heading out in his black hoodie and long trousers, he went out of the house and clicked on the remote of his car and the blue lamborghini opened, he got in and drive out of the compound moving his head to some unknown music when suddenly someone ran to the front of the car, he quickly got off the car to check what the hell that was, getting to the front of the car was a lady seated on the floor examining her broken heels

"Damn! my heels is broken because of you!!" she said

"Does that even matter right now, she nearly died!" Ryan said calmly in his head

"Are you okay" he asked touching her to see if she is hurt anywhere but she brushed his hands away

"I said you broke my heels, sh*t!! how do i get home??" She said and Ryan sighed

"Is the heel that important?" Ryan snapped already getting angry at the lady

"Yes! i have to wear this to that damn company tomorrow!!" the lady snapped back still sitting on the floor

"What a f**ked up day i've had so far, a busy weekend and now an encounter with a drunkard??" Ryan screamed crazily in his head

Sia woke up holding her head, she was probably having a headache because of the excess drink she had the previous night, she looked round the room realizing she's in her apartment

"Oh! i'm in my room, but how did i get here?" she said trying to remember but just couldn't, she laid back on the bed and suddenly remember something, that it is Monday morning, she checked the time and jumped out of bed

"Won't i get fired on the first day?" Sia said to herself staring at the name of the company, she is forty minutes late already, she quickly rushed in and soon was at the "New brand fashion department" as stated in the transfer letter

"Good morning" she said with a smile but got no response, all eyes were on her looking at her with disdain

"Why the hell did i choose this dress" she thought to herself checking out her black cocktail dress which was silted up to her thigh and then her eyes went to the C.E.O trying to get into his office, she quickly walked to him

"Good morning sir?" Sia greeted the C.E.O who first scanned her from head to toe before looking at his wristwatch

"Damn you Sia!!" she cursed under her breath, "why the hell did you drink so much yesterday" she scolded herself in her head

"Into my office" Ryan said and she bowed slightly then followed him into his office

"But this guy looks familiar somehow, have i met him before? if i had then why can't i remember??" Sia thought trying to figure out if she had really met him before

"Miss, is this the way you present yourself to the company, late on your first day at work?" Ryan asked Sia who only stared at the floor

"I received your transfer letter from Lawson Group, just as i had expected, you must have made a lot of mistakes to be transferred here and now this is how you present yourself? first was the opening speech and now you are late on your first day at work, that shows your incompetence" Ryan said looking at Sia to look at her reaction, Sia was plainly staring at the ground listening to his rants

"Why is he acting all high and mighty??" Sia thought and raised her head up a little bit to take a glimpse of the C.E.O only to see that he's staring at her, she quickly turned her face back to the floor

"From now on, i hope you won't bug or annoy me if you don't want to be fired, you are dismissed" Ryan said still staring at Sia's face

"Yes sir, i'm sorry" Sia said and turned to walk out of the office

"Damn it!" she said and sneered when Ryan said "wait!" and she stopped

"Did he see me sneer at him, i'm done for" she muttered to herself and turned slowly

"Now that i think of it, you are the girl from last night right??" Ryan said staring keenly at Sia

"Last night? what about last night?" Sia asked facing the C.E.O

"Wait, did i meet him when i was drunk? oh no! what do i do??" Sia screamed in her head

"I think you are mistaken" she added

"I'm right, it's you" Ryan said and stands up moving closer to her

"Don't you remember?? you were fuçking wasted last night" Ryan said with a disgusting look letting out a smirk

"Can't believe she can't remember, how come i didn't recognize her as the speech buster last night?" Ryan thought

"What did you just say, wasted?" Sia said Creasing her forehead and then scoffed

"I only drank a few bottles, i can't really recall what happened between us so i assume you must be mistaken" Sia said demonstrating standing with one of her hands on her waist when she realized that she's talking to her boss and quickly composed her posture

"You don't remember, almost getting hit by my car?" Ryan asked trying to make her remember

"What the hell is he saying now" Sia muttered and sighed then memories of the previous night flashed in her head

"I said you broke my heels, damn! i was going to wear this to that damn company tomorrow!" Sia yelled staring at the black glass heel which was already broken

"Is the heel that important? i'm glad you are okay, you should always watch the way you walk" Ryan said calmly to her

"Who are you to scold me?" Sia screamed loudly shocking Ryan who staggered backward a little bit with this thought in his head

"Did i just encounter a crazy lady today?" he thought and shook his head and Sia staggered up, took her heels and was trying to walk away when she fell and then she had her lips pouted

"What do i do, i can't walk" she said in a tone different from the tone she was using before, her voice sounded so cool and pitiful and Ryan just shook his head and sighed

"Glad, she's fine" he said and entered his car igniting it, he hate meddling in other people's business

"Hey! you heartless jerk, didn't you hear me just now!! i said i can't walk, won't you help me??" Sia screamed loudly creasing her forehead and Ryan just itched his eardrums and pretended like he didn't hear that then the car begins to move

"You motherfuçker!!" Sia screamed seeing the car fade out of her sight

"Mr. C.E.O?? Oh no! feel free to call me the heartless jerk or a motherf**ker" Ryan said with a smile

"Okay Sir! i mean no! i'm very sorry about that" Sia said feeling apologetic

"Is that all you can remember??" Ryan asked which made Sia face him with a surprised look

"Huh? is there still more?? but you already left" Sia said calmly and that made Ryan wonder if she's the crazy lady he had met last night

"You don't remember me coming back??" Ryan said trying to wake Sia's memory

"Did you?"

"Arrrgh!" he sighed and walked out of the car with his expensive white sneakers making a sound with each step he takes and Sia who sat down dejectedly on the ground stared from the shoe up to his face

"Oh! it's the heartless guy, you really came back, wow!!" Sia said grinning her teeth

"Arrgh!" Ryan sighed again and told her to hop into the car

"You are really blind, aren't you? can't you f**king open your eyes and see that i can't walk, my legs are damn weak!!" Sia snapped at Ryan who only stared at her in disbelief

"Can't believe i came back here out of concern to be treated like this" he muttered running his hand through his hair

"Huh!" Ryan sighed again then walk to her and lifted her from the ground taking her into the car as she held tightly to the heels, he had a look that wanted to dump her into the car like trash but ended up placing her gently on the seat and also fasten the seatbelt for her while she smiled at him

"Oh! damn!" how can someone's drunken smile be this cute" he screamed crazily in his head and got seated on the driver's seat and begins to drive as Sia was giving directions

"Just hope she's not blabbing rubbish about the way to her home" Ryan muttered and focused on the road not even sparing a glance to the drunken tantrum she's performing in the car

"Oh! here! stop here!, this is my house" she said tapping Ryan's shoulder continuously, "heartless jerk! this is my house" she said and started laughing and the car came to a halt and Ryan got her out of the car only for her to sit on the floor again

"Gosh! why are you sitting on the floor again!! go on in!" Ryan yelled and she only smiled

"Why does she has to smile everytime" Ryan muttered and turned to go and she held his leg making him face her

"You bastard! i said i can't walk!! She yelled with her devilish look "help me in, huh?" she added with an angelic look winking her eyes continuously and Ryan shook his head

"What is she doing?? why does it have to be me, i should have just left her there, she should be grateful that i don't rape women no matter how much i crave for s3x, if only she had fallen into a kidnapper's hand, God knows what state she would be in now!" Ryan thought and carried her into his arms while she smiled again

"Oh here! this is my room" Sia said and smiled then input the door code into the keypad on the door still in Ryan's arms and the door made a sound indicating that it had opened

"Glad she wasn't mistaken about this" Ryan muttered and grabbed the doorknob opening the door and took her inside the house which was messy like a garbage can, the comfy sitting room was full of cup noodles which hasn't been discarded and on the floor were strands of noodles scattered everywhere

"We are here!" he said and looked at her only to see her eyes closed

"Did she just sleep in my arms?" he asked in his mind and sighed then proceed to her bedroom

"Looks like the best remedy for her now is sleep" Ryan thought and was shocked with the view he saw in the bedroom

"Gawd! does a human live here??" he asked in his head as he couldn't help but look, clothes were flinged to every corner of the room as Ryan almost stepped on a pink bra while making way to reach her bed

"goddamnit!!" he muttered and laid Sia on the bed covering her with the blanket

"Wait, what am i doing now??" he said calmly in his head and turned to go when she held his hand still with her eyes closed

"What?? is she faking the sleep?" Ryan thought and just like a flash, she dragged him into the bed and the position changed with Sia on top of Ryan

"W....what are......y..you doing??" he asked in a stutter

"What the hell is she doing now?!!" he screamed wildly in his head and Sia smiled moving her face closer to his and then slowly move her lips towards his lips as Ryan's eyes were on her soft looking pink lips

"Kiss?"he asked and she nodded

"Oh the Kiss??" Ryan said nodding his head

"Yea, i was just drunk, i didn't mean to, please forgive me just this once and forget everything that happened yesterday, i'm truly sorry" Sia said with pleading eyes

"okay i get it, get out!" Ryan said coldly facing his desk, he was actually wondering if she's really the crazy lady he had met the previous night cause the lady in front of him seems too gentle to be her

"Is she like that only when she is drunk?" he thought

"Yes Mr. C.E.O" she said and walk out, oh Sia! you are out of it really! like you are screwed!!" Sia yelled at herself in her head and slapped her head multiple times making Ryan who was peeping at her chuckle

"That head did nothing wrong" he said to no one seeing Sia continuously slapping her head

"did she really think we kissed?" Ryan said aloud and scoffed

Ryan thought as she brought her lips closer to his with Ryan staring lustfully at those pretty lips, their lips nearly touched when Ryan pushed her away making her fall to the bed and her faint snoring sound could be heard as Ryan came back to his senses, she almost moved his body with that closeness as he was almost tempted to kiss her, he shook his head and quickly dragged himself out of the bed and left the apartment, "She is crazy and i must have been crazy to do all these for a drunken stranger!!" Ryan said to himself

"First day at work and i'm already having so much to do" he muttered to himself

"damn these bitches!" Sia muttered as she couldn't help but steal glances at her co-workers as they couldn't stop laughing at her, one of them even came to her desk with a bunch of files and threw it heavily on her desk,

"Damn! that scared me!" She roared in her head

"Hey! sort out these files and check out the model for every single one of it and then you cross check it with our newly designed products but i doubt you will be able to do it, you couldn't even give an opening speech properly, i wonder how you got to work in Lawson Group, i still find that as a mystery, make sure to finish those up today" Sia's colleague whose name is Syaon said to Sia who wanted to talk but restrained herself because she is sure she is going to overdo it and that will get her on the bad side of everyone which is too early for her but she was sure it will eventually happen!!!
