Chapter 1 1

***Ryan's POV***

"Ryan!" Jessie whispered smacking the back of my arm silently, making me to turn my head towards her to see her scowl. "Shut your mouth. You're embarrassing them"

"Are all of them her daughters? Are the women gay or something?" Jace whispered back, unable to keep his eyes off them as he spied through the glass window.

"Not actually. Ms June has two daughters and the last girl...I don't really know where she stands out. Ms Montez, the auburn in blue, only has a daughter, but I'm not sure she's there. Apparently, they all had bad experiences with men"

"Thank God there's a new generation"

We all stared at Gray from the corner of our eyes as he rubbed his face with both hands, already trying to make a decision.

"They're so bogus. There's no way any girl in this world could look that good at that age." Jessie said, letting her irritability show. It wasn't because of Gray, it was because she felt she wouldn't look like any one of those girls...not even in her dreams.

"Why? Cause you got a moustache at eighteen?"

She gasped and covered her upper lip with both hands, "It's peach fuzz!"

I stared at her for a moment to see if she was serious then burst into laughter. "Keep telling yourself that. You might just believe it" I patted Jessie's shoulder.

"It is!"

Her voice streaked so loud, everyone turned and watched her. The guests left their mouths open and Kaitlyn, our mother, smiled, trying to break the ice. She said some words that we couldn't hear quite well and signalled us to come in.

I patted Jessie's shoulder again, while turning her about and gave her a gentle push toward the double doors that suddenly looked very intimidating.

Kaitlyn was already waiting for us by the door. By the time we walked in, she grabbed Jessie's hand and pulled her in front of the tall, yet outrageously beautiful group of girls.

"This is my daughter, Jessica. She's been dying to meet you"

"You have?"

Ms Montez's eyes popped open as she reached for her hand "Well it's an honour to meet you. I'm Gabriella Montez" she turned to the woman beside her, "This is my sister, June"

"A pleasure"

"And this is the family. My nieces, Riana, Piali and Diana. And this is my daughter, Dimple"

"Dimple?"

By the sound of her name being called, she walked slowly into the room, standing beside her mother with an expression of wide-eyed shock towards us. I turned at the sound of the soft feminine voice and raised my brows. Though my expression never said anything beyond that, inside was a different story. She wasn't the only one that was surprised.

Here was obviously Gabriella's daughter standing in the doorway of the living room with an expression of wide-eyed shock towards us.

She was gorgeous.

She had such vibrant green eyes surrounded by thick long lashes. She had long glossy auburn hair that tumbled pass her shoulders hinting at a slight curl. Her lips were parted, releasing an audible gasp and I couldn't help but look at them. They were full, lush and a perfect shade of red. She was obviously wearing make-up but she didn't need to. Her complexion was flawless even when it suddenly went pale. But that wasn't what caught my attention; it was the scorching body she crazed.

My eyes went from her black heels and slowly heatedly worked her entire form. The woman had the most delectable curves I'd ever seen. Those legs of hers were mouth-watering and seemed never-ending. They were definitely the legs of a dancer, long, firm, smooth and perfectly shaped.

Then there was the short black dress she wore that clung to every elegant curve she owned. With a strap circled around her neck and leaving her smooth, delicate shoulders bare, it was definitely created for her body and practically made those large emerald eyes of hers glow.

If I had my pick on the four young women standing right on front of me I knew just who she'd be.

"Is there a problem?"

Jessie's eyes popped and her jaw dropped when she saw her. She looked back from mother to daughter, signalling herself the resemblance. A few seconds ago she thought she might be good enough to stand between these groups but now, looking at Dimple, hearing her unique accent, paralyzed by the gorgeous dimple that flashed without Dimple even trying, she took a step back.

"Oh"

Chapter 2 2

***Dimple's POV***

I ran my fingers across the vase and over to the couch. For one thing, the family seemed to have some instinct when it came to class. The room was quite large and seemed to have more furniture than any other room I've been to the whole day.

It had been so long since I felt a tad of old-fashioned American designs. I turned over and landed on the chair, took a deep breath and tried to relax. God, I had no idea what I was doing here in the first place. I would have felt a little more secure if my mother, Gabriella Montez, didn't just smile at me and say "Dress your best. We're going out tonight"

Going where? I wish I asked. But my mother wasn't a fan of questions...or disappointments for that matter. Whatever she says goes. I wasn't a fan of answering questions either. I never liked being pinned against the wall because of something I said or did.

But sometimes I felt Gabriella was taking advantage of me because of that. I respected her- sometimes even terrified of her. She was just so controlling and always found a way to twist whatever I said to be what she wanted to hear. So I preferred staying quiet, even when my entire life was put up for it.

A few days ago, I came back from a four year stay in Paris. I never wanted to- never wanted to stay away but that was what she wanted. Even when I said no! But she always found a way of getting what she wanted form me. The night of the flight, I rushed to her room and my eyes were flashing bright rays of green, with slight hints of gold in between. She turned and stared at me oddly because of vibrating phone.

"What is it?" She turned her eyes away from my pocket and back at my face.

"Where're my things?"

She almost laughed at herself but then she just lifted the tip of her lip, "Things? Be more specific darling. You're giving me a headache"

"My things! MY CLOTHES, jewellery, bags, everything! Where are they?"

"Oh, those things" she said simply, walking right pass me and towards her dresser. Then she just tilted her head and started taking off her earrings.

"They're in the car"

"What?"

"Sorry. I put them there when I thought you were still going to PARIS. I could have put them back put-" both brows rose for a second, "Crossed my mind"

I stared at her and blinked slowly, unable to take my eyes off of her. Then I got back my balance and slowly turned my head away, "Which car exactly?"

"Black Audi"

Without saying another word, I turned away and rushed out the entrance doors. The car was already ready to go. I opened the bot but took a step back to see it was empty. My sudden confused expression turned sour and I began fuming. I could have sworn my hair turned darker.

Just then I was raised and could feel hands on my hands and feet. "Let me go!" That was all I was able to say before someone placed a drugged handkerchief on my mouth and nose and threw me into the boot before closing it shut.

Then the engine started and I began screaming. It wasn't as loud as before because my sight was suddenly blurry and it seemed impossible keeping them open. No one came. My phone started vibrating and it took all my effort to take a look at it. I answered the phone call and words burst in my ear.

"Dee, whatever you do don't get close to that-"

"Too late" Then I closed my eyes. When I finally woke up, I was already on the nearest plane to France. And there was no way of getting out.

When I finally had the chance to talk to Gabriella, she just said it was for my own good. In order for me not to run away, she had guards watching my every move. Of course I escaped at some point. But she already gave my picture to any airport in that country, making it impossible to leave. Of course she did the same trick for my cousins but they had more of a chance of leaving than I did.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. God, I didn't want to be here! I needed to be home, moaning the death of the dearest people in my life. Then everything got worse when I heard my name. And like an obedient little dog, I silently walked to the next room- screaming...on the inside of course.

Chapter 3 3

"Seems you've made your choice"

"Choice?"

Gabriella tilted her head over to Jace's direction. He was affectionate, held my hand, and was a complete gentleman, but that's as far as it went. I looked back at my mother and tried to understand what she meant.

"What do you mean by 'choice'?"

"Well, Kaitlyn has been looking for a wife for one of her sons, just like you've been looking for a husband"

"I'm not-"

She raised her hand and cut me off "The Cartel's have a proposal."

I looked puzzled. Was that why I was here?

"What kind of proposal?" I asked, listening very carefully."

Gabriella looked away for a short while then her gaze finally met mine. "A few weeks ago, I made a deal with the Cartels, having to do with you. I agreed to have you get married to one of her sons"

"What?!"

"It was for your own good. You won't be given your share of the money if you don't get married before you're twenty seven" she said defensively.

"You said we'd talk about that...together. I don't need you to find a husband for me. I can do that perfectly well"

"And I don't doubt that. With a face like yours, who wouldn't want to you by their side? But your situation can't be based on love. It's all about the money"

"Life isn't just based on money!" I let my voice rise "It's always about the money with you. When will you understand that I don't need you to fix my

Life?"

"Your life doesn't need fixing. But it does need some help. Dimple, you're still young and you're so beautiful. The marriage doesn't have to be based on love. It could be an arrangement. The both of you could settle things as you please for as long as you want. But for the sake of everything you wouldn't like to lose, if Theodore Cartel, or his wife, asks if you would like to marry their son, say yes. Promise me you'll say yes"

I stared at Gabriella like she was crazy. I couldn't understand her. First, she kicked me off to another country, and now to another man's house. It was like I was being disowned. I caught her gaze. She than Gabriella would have hoped for. And having my grandmother die was hard for her, but she quickly recovered when she realized how much money I got from her will. Of course, it would end up in my name, but she was still my mother. It was obvious that even though she was born rich, she'd still end up asking me for favours to buy her a car, a house, or more likely on her turn, more money.

"And Aunt June knew about this?" she nodded "Who exactly did the both of you expect me to get married to?"

"We decided to leave it up to you. You're a-"

"Cut the act. Who do you want me to choose?"

She looked down and shut her eyes for a few seconds. Then she took a deep breath and stared at me, immediately getting back her strong-welded personality. "Ryan, of course. He's the eldest. He's mature, and definitely the most handsome of all his brothers. He's the most successful. Which better catch than he?"

Even though she didn't say it, I could understand what she meant; which better catch than the man obviously getting the greatest part of their parents will?

"But you're asking why?" she leaned closer "Will you pick him for me? Would you do that for me, darling?"

I looked away and nodded.

"That's just perfect-"

"Hold on. Don't get so excited" I placed my hand in front of her "I have my conditions."

"Of course?"

"One, you don't ask for a dime from me. That money was left to me by grandma. And I know she'll want us to follow every last one of her wishes. I don't want you trying to make that money yours"

She turned away from me for a few seconds, like she was thinking, then a few minutes later she turned to me and got up, nodding her head, "I can live with that" then she began walking away.

Confused, I stopped her "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to let the Cartels know you've chosen."

"I'm not done listing conditions, mum"

"We can talk about that later" she said, lazily.

"There're more important things at hand" She walked on then stopped again.

"I want to talk to Ryan!"

With a slight pause, she nodded and continued walking. But this time, she didn't look back.
