Chapter 1 One

Victoria's POV

Stretching lazily on the bed, I yawned loudly as I picked up my phone to check the time.

"Fuck." I thought.

It was already seven and I was supposed to be up by six thirty. Being the head girl came with a lot of responsibility which included waking up earlier than before.

"Welcome back to planet earth." Anna said.

She was dressed and ready for class while I was still in bed.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked, standing up from the bed to begin my day.

"You slept late last night, and to avoid your cranky behavior I wanted you to have enough rest." Was her smart response.

"But we're going to be late." I argued.

"We won't if you enter the bathroom now." Anna replied.

I spent most of the time talking to Daniel last night, and it will be so strange not seeing him at all in school. It was remaining just Anna and I, as the rest had gone to the university.

Today is the first day of resumption, and it is also my last year in high school. I couldn't be happier.

"See, we're early." Anna said.

We walked into the cafeteria for breakfast and immediately the students saw us, they all quietened down and focused on eating their food.

"I don't understand how you manage to control them without saying anything. I have to shout my lungs out before they listen." Dennis, the headboy, said joining us on our table.

"They like my pretty face." I joked.

"I guess you're right."

Dennis is nice, since the day we were given the prefect's position he had always been by my side and was quite helpful.

"So guys, what do you think of the new teacher?" Anna asked excitedly.

"Young."

"I think he's too young and inexperienced to be teaching seniors." Dennis responded.

"You guys are leaving out the fact that he's handsome huh?" That was Anna again.

If you didn't know, Anna is dating Jason so I didn't understand why she would think that the new teacher is handsome.... though he's really good looking and I'm sure most girls, both students and other female teachers were swooning over him already.

Mr Felix is the new teacher for biology, and I'm sure it will be so much fun when students start asking foolish questions.

"We're not having that conversation today, it's time to head to class." I said.

"Thank you, I think you're the only one not falling over heels for him." Dennis said happy at the change of topic.

"I don't understand your problem, but okay let's get to class." Anna pouted.

After making sure everyone else went to class, the three of us made our way to the first class for the day.

Luckily for us, the first period happened to be biology and I'm certain it was because they wanted to formally introduce him to the students.

The excited chatter from the girls and groans from the boys brought my attention back to the happenings in the class as my thoughts were divided.

"Hello class." He greeted us, and I wouldn't deny that his voice is a killer neither would I deny that I would go out with him if I saw him first.

"Good morning sir." We chorused.

Calling him sir sounded a little strange since I know he was only a few years older than me and with the thoughts I had....sir is a little inappropriate.

He introduced himself as Felix, and even his name sounded nice but I shouldn't be bothered by it, not if I can help it though.

As Mr Felix went on teaching, and though he looked young, he was really good and he explained everything in detail unlike the previous teacher.

"What do you have to say?" Anna asked.

We were done with the class, and I really enjoyed it though I wouldn't tell her that because I knew she was going to say "I told you so"

"Fine."

"Just fine???" She yelled, drawing attention to us.

"What else should I say? And don't forget, you have a boyfriend." I reminded her.

"Sadly right?"

Anna likes Jason a lot, so whatever she was doing right now was to have fun and it was understandable since the guys aren't here to make our last year interesting so we have to find our own way to do that.

We moved to our next class and everything about the new teacher was forgotten...at least for now.

"Did you notice that Dennis never said anything to us when the guys were around except something school related?" Anna asked.

It was true, for the first five years that we schooled together he didn't for once say anything to us probably because nobody wanted to deal with Daniel, Jason or Gideon but now that they were gone, he was always with us.

"Hey guys." Dennis greeted.

"Talk of the devil." I thought as I smiled at him.

"Hi Dennis baby." Anna replied.

His face turned a different shade of red when she called him baby and I smiled at how adorable he looked.

The entrance of the teacher put all our conversation on hold. There wasn't a need for an introduction since we were already familiar with who he was.

As the class went on, I kept thinking of Daniel and what he was doing presently and if he missed me as much as I did.

Time for lunch came, and I couldn't be happier because of how hungry I was and the continuous teachings didn't help matters.

"It feels strange sitting here." Dennis said.

I totally understand him, this is the first time he's sitting with us and this used to be our table before the guys left.

"You'll get used to it." I assured him.

"I hope so."

Looking at the table which held many memories of everything that went on, the heartbreaks, the funny times and especially when the video was sent out.

It was a day I'd never forget in a hurry, I was grateful for everyone who had my back then.

Since I was starting a new journey, I hope it doesn't contain any emotional stress and I'm also happy that Liz was out of the way seeing she was part of the reasons I broke up with Daniel before we sorted it out.

Thinking back to that time, I felt terrible for what I put him through and it was a good thing it was over now but was it really over now that I have no idea what he's doing or how he's keeping up.

One thing I wish for is that everything that happened in the past shouldn't show up again because I don't know if I would be able to handle it.

Chapter 2 Two

CHAPTER TWO

Daniel's POV

"This is strange." I said to my friends as we all sat together waiting for the next class.

"I know right, this school is sick, have you walked around?" Gideon said.

One would think that he grew wiser but I didn't think so, if anything I think he became dumber and sometimes I wondered how he even got in.

I was talking about the fact that Vee and my sister were the only ones absent from the group. Though he was lucky that Anita also got admitted.

"I don't think that's what he's talking about." Anita whispered to him.

"What is he talking about then?" He asked.

"You're a lost cause, I don't know how Anita keeps up with you." Jason said for the first time since we sat down.

"Hey, I'm sure he's just exploring his options of course he knows what you're talking about, right babe?" She defended.

"Yeah, I also miss them." He said.

"So you just decided to be daft on purpose?" Jason asked, but one look from Anita kept him shut.

This is going to be a new experience for us all, I have always wanted to study mechanical engineering and the same with Jason while Gideon chose Architecture. Anita got in also for nursing though she wanted medicine but since it was in the same circle she accepted it.

I was excited when I got in, but I was also going to miss seeing Vee everyday and though I might not say it but it was out of the reasons I decided to school in Nigeria and at first, my parents were against it and they only agreed because I complied with their wish of attending a private university if I wasn't going to school abroad. The plus of going there is because they were close friends with the founders.

"Have you guys started anything serious?" Gideon asked.

We then switched topics to academics and talked about our classes and every other thing and nothing in particular.

I wondered how Vee was doing, if the stress of being the head girl was telling on her even though I knew my sister was there to assist her.

Jason wouldn't say it, but he also missed them, especially Anna. I was more comfortable with Jason and my sister dating because he treats her well and she was happy and that's all I wanted.

"Guys, I'm going to skip the rest of the day." I said.

"Are you okay?" Anita asked, concerned.

"I'm fine, I just don't think I want to sit here again." I replied.

"Okay then, see you later." She waved.

I was given a special room but this time, I had Jason and Gideon stay with me since the room has two rooms and was big enough to contain the three of us.

I contemplated between calling Vee and sleeping for a while because I wasn't sure of their time table and I wouldn't want to call when she was in class and disturb her.

I know it's going to be hard, but it was a risk I was prepared to take. I also know that it would take a lot from the both of us but I loved her enough and I didn't want a silly distance to come between us.

We were both going to meet different people especially me because of the new environment and all but we have both come a long way.

"God, I miss you so much pumpkin." I thought.

I fell asleep while thinking of Vee so I wasn't surprised when I saw her in my dream.

When I was certain she would be back from school, I called her on video but she didn't pick up so I assumed she was asleep.

At a loss of what to do, I entered the kitchen and looked for anything edible and it wasn't because I was hungry, I just felt like eating something.

Back in the room, I heard my phone ringing so after settling for a chocolate bar I picked it up to see a missed call from Vee.

"Hey pumpkin." I greeted, as her face appeared in front of the camera.

"Hey babe, how are you?" She asked.

She looked more beautiful each time I called her. She was wearing a white tee shirt which I've seen her wear before and her hair was neatly braided.

"I'm fine, I just missed you." I said.

"I missed you too, a lot."

With the look she had on, it was obvious she did miss me and not that I doubted her at any point.

"How did school go today?" I asked her.

"Went well, Anna wouldn't stop talking about how handsome the new teacher is."

"You have a new teacher?"

"Yea, and he's also young. That aside, how did your classes go?" She said, not leaving the new teacher up for discussion.

"I skipped, I'll collect the notes from Jason."

"You're lucky you're in the same department."

"I know right." I agreed.

When I asked her if school wasn't stressful, she told me about the headboy who was always there. I'm not sure how I felt about the information because even before I graduated, he was always looking for an excuse to talk to her claiming it's about school.

"Be careful, and tell me if he crosses the line." I told her.

"Anna is here to keep him in check."

"I trust her. Where is Anna?" I asked.

"Hi brother, do you miss me already?" Anna asked, also putting her head in front of the camera.

"I'm not sure, do I?" I joked.

"Very funny." She laughed.

After a while, she left Vee and I to continue our conversation but Vee also had to go because it was almost time for dinner.

"I'll talk to you later." She said.

"Of course pumpkin. Take good care of yourself."

"I will, you too."

We ended the call after saying our goodbyes and at the same time, the guys entered both looking drained.

"I want to ask what happened, but don't worry."

"I'm hungry." Gideon groaned, dropping his book neatly on the table before going to the kitchen.

"Me too, I can feel worms feeding on my intestines." Jason exaggerated the whole thing.

"Of course." I snorted.

Just when they settled on cereal before the main meal, someone knocked on the door which made the three of us look at one another.

"That's not Anita." I said for sure.

"Are you expecting anyone?" They asked together.

"Nope, it's fine I'll go check while you guys eat." I offered.

"Sure." Gideon said.

I walked lazily to the door, wondering who it might be since we've barely met a new friend and talk less of inviting them over.

"Hi." The voice said when I opened the door.

"Hm...hi, who are you?" I asked.

Chapter 3 Three

CHAPTER THREE

Victoria's POV

"The principal wants to see you." Dennis said.

I groaned in response, because being called into the principal's office isn't my favorite thing and it's either a student had done something offensive or I'm not addressing a particular issue.

"Did he say what it's about?" I asked.

"Nope, he just said to call you."

"I'm sure he just wants to talk to you or tell you to do something." Anna suggested.

I didn't like going to his office alone, but the number of times I've been there I had to go alone. Going to his office when you have no idea if you've done something wrong is very scary.

"Ok, I'm going now."

"Don't shit your pants." Anna advised, but I just glared at her.

The secretary told me that the principal was expecting me but she didn't make any attempt to ease my tension...not that I expected her to.

Making sure my clothes were well tucked in, and my badge rested firmly against my chest, I knocked on the door.

"Come in." I heard him say.

"Good afternoon sir, you sent it to me." I said.

He looked at me briefly before returning his attention to the book opened in front of him.

"Afternoon Victoria." He responded.

After flipping pages of his book, he finally had my time as he rested his back on the chair while pointing to the chair in front of me.

Taking it that he wanted me to sit, I drew the chair out probably before making myself comfortable.

"It's not advisable to accept transfer students in the senior class, especially the final class." He started.

I know this, but I kept wondering why he thinks I need to know it.

"Due to some reasons, we had to accept one so I want you, as one of our top students and headgirl, to assist us in making the new student comfortable." He continued.

In a more clearer words, there was a new student coming to our class and he wanted me to be her guide.

"Do you think you can handle that?" He asked, looking directly at me.

"No sir, I already have a lot on my hand right now." My inner mind answered.

"Yes sir." I answered the principal.

"I know I could count on you. She'll be here tomorrow." He said.

"So, it's a girl." I thought.

When there was nothing else to discuss, he dismissed me.

"You were gone for so long, I nearly organized a search party to look for you." Anna said.

I snorted at her statement, which made Dennis smile and I wondered if I looked funny but I didn't ask.

"So what's up?" She asked, more serious this time.

I recounted the entire conversation I had with the principal to them and they both looked surprised.

"Why would they accept a new student in the final class?" Dennis asked.

I didn't answer because I believed the question wasn't directed to me....I mean he doesn't expect me to know the answer.

"So she's coming tomorrow?" Anna asked.

"Did they listen to anything I said?" I thought.

"That's exactly what I said." I replied.

The teacher for that period didn't come, that was the reason we had enough time to talk about necessary things.

"If she's anything like Liz, we are going to have a problem." Anna said.

Even if she is anything like Liz, there's no Daniel that she's going to crush on so I think we're fine.

"I think we'll be fine." I told her.

I looked around to see the rest of our classmates' heads absolved in their books making the three of us look unserious but I didn't mind because I wasn't in a competition with anyone.

Over the years, I tried not to think of myself in a competition with anyone because I tend to over do things then.

"I feel so unserious right now." Dennis said, speaking my thoughts.

"I know right!" Anna exclaimed.

Both of them agreed that they were unserious but they still didn't pick up their books. Instead, they both turned to face me to continue talking.

"Why are you both looking at me?" I asked.

"Nothing." They replied.

"Okay...." I drawled.

As much as I'd like to continue the staring contest, I also have duties to perform and they were not left out.

"When you guys are done, you can meet me in the classroom." I said.

"You're just mean." Anna grumbled.

After making sure that the rest of the students were seated quietly in their respective classes, we head back to ours and hopefully we get there before the teacher.

"This is so stressful, why do I have to follow you everywhere?" Anna complained.

"Maybe you can wait for me in class next time." I said.

I knew fully well that she wouldn't want to sit alone in class so I wasn't surprised when she made a face at me.

"I'll pass."

When classes were over for that day, I couldn't help but breathe in relief. It has been a long day, and I also wasn't looking forward to tomorrow either...

I wished I could magically transport myself to the day after tomorrow but since I couldn't, I'd have to face it.

The next morning came with lots of groaning and hissing because I remembered the things I needed to do today.

"Someone looks excited for this morning." Anna said with sarcasm.

"Yeah, whatever." I murmured.

I managed to drag myself to get ready for class today and when I was done, we went outside ready to welcome the new student.

She still didn't arrive after breakfast, so we went to class and I already made up my mind not to stress myself. Probably she decided not to come today after all.

The teacher went on with his teaching only to be disrupted by the principal and someone I guess is the new student.

"This is Catherine, and she'll be joining you." He said, after we greeted him.

"Oh my goodness!" I exclaimed when I took a full look at her.

"That is Victoria, she'll show you everything you need to know, and don't worry you're in safe hands." The principal continued.

"Thank you sir." I heard Catherine say.

She walked gracefully towards me, attracting stares from our classmates, especially the guys.

"Hi." She greeted me.

I turned to look at Anna only to find her looking at me with a look I wasn't sure of but I had an idea.

"This is going to be an interesting year." I thought.

I welcomed her warmly and Anna did the same before we concentrated back on the teacher.

"This is going to be one long year." I thought and something tells me I wasn't wrong and not that I didn't trust Daniel but I was grateful he was in the university already so whatever drama we have doesn't have to do with him or any of the guys for that matter.
