Raina's POV
It's the sensation of a cold wind caressing your face like smashing onto a beach, your feet sinking into the earth like mud, activation. That's my preferred way. That's how all werewolves enjoyed it. However, I'm not just jogging for pleasure. The reason is that I need to get away from the nightmares of the past. I'm rushing into the woods around 4:30 in the morning as if I'm being pursued. or a person. I've been coping with all I've gone through for the past three years by doing that. I flee to conceal. I flee in search of freedom.
I feel liberated and pressed for time when I run. It compels me to stay vigilant and mindful of my surroundings. I have to maintain my vigilance.
My name is Raina Mason, and I am currently the greatest female werewolf fighter in recorded history, as the history books say. I am a Bright Moon Pack member and twenty-one years old. A few days after my birth, I was left in a baby basket with only a baby blanket bearing the letter R on it, and no letter or message indicating my place of origin. To be honest, I have no idea who my parents are or even if they are still alive, but that doesn't matter. I did not feel like playing hide-and-seek. They wouldn't abandon me at the eastern edge of the pack in the hopes that I would be discovered by someone else if they truly wanted me. If they wanted to be discovered, they would have left clues as to where they were, and if they had, they would have searched for me. However, they didn't.
I grew up having to deal with their departure on my own. Thankfully, though, I wasn't by myself. Although they took me in, Uncle Ethan and Aunt Mariah are not my aunt and uncle. Uncle Ethan spotted me that night when he was watching the pack's borders, so I just called them that. They've been kind to me, and I appreciate that. Without them, I would not be who I am today. Here in the pack, Aunt is a doctor, and Uncle Ethan is the Enforcer. a physician who is well-known for both her career and her union with the Enforcer. They said that they fell in love with me the moment they laid eyes on me and that they were unable to conceive. They decided to adopt me after they gave up trying to find my parents.
In case you guys haven't guessed, I'm a werewolf. We don't exhibit ourselves to the human world, yet we do exist. Humans are naturally inclined to "investigate" the unknown. Back to my previous task, then. I'm running in the Bright Moon Pack this morning in the woods. I left the Silver Blade's pack last night at midnight and returned. Normally, I raise the skill levels of other pack fighters. responsibilities as the best female warrior. Not only do I have to train my pack, but all the packs.
It was about 7:30 am when I returned home. Yes, after three hours. I have werewolf speed, thus I can run for extended periods if I so want. To stay awake, I walked upstairs to quickly take a shower and brew some coffee. I made my way back upstairs to get dressed. I decided to pair it with a black top, black jeans, and black boots. After giving my hair a brief brush, I returned downstairs to pour my coffee into a mug.
I cleaned my cup after finishing and proceeded to the pack house. Even though it was almost eight in the morning, not everyone was up at this point, but I knew Uncle Ethan was present. While performing errands for her family, Aunt Mariah was in another group and gave me the impression that she was ordering Uncle Ethan to stay here with me. He can't prevail in a duel with her. He is infatuated with her.
When I got near enough to Uncle Ethan, I said, "Hey," and he gave me a hug and a forehead kiss. He said, "Hey sweetie pie," and I gave him a light tap on the shoulders. I remarked, "I thought I told you to stop calling me that," to which Ethan responded. He gently squeezed my cheeks, laughing at my immature actions. "When did you get back?" He enquired.
"Midnight," was my response.
"So what's going on today?" I inquired, but Alpha Thomas entered the room before he could respond. Alpha Thomas hugged me and said, "Raina your back." He wants himself and his pack members to be one and to get along with everyone, so we may refer to him as Alpha Thomas rather than Alpha Samuels. Don't be misled, though; if you cross the line, he won't think twice about putting you back where you belong. In my years here, I've also grown close to the Alpha family, but I don't recall ever meeting their kid, who is the subject of much discussion. Do not wait for corrections. Upon seeing their son, I regret not staying to engage in a conversation with him. Not even his name comes to mind.
I understand your question: How am I unaware of the Alpha's son? To answer your question, I have never been curious about getting to know him or even just glancing at him. When there's a pack meeting, the Alpha or Luna usually speaks or calls it to order. I've never seen his son, but I've heard females chatting about him all the time, but I never stay to hear them.
I said, "Yes, I'm back," and we started to argue. "I suspect the trip was a success?" Which he didn't need to ask, he asked. "Yes, Alpha Thomas," I confidently replied. There was nothing to fear. "All right. Enforcer Ethan "He shook hands with Uncle Ethan after saying that. "Alpha, good morning." Uncle Ethan said. Alpha Thomas remarked, "There will be a pack meeting today in 5 minutes in the courtyard. Please be ready." We answered, "Yes, Alpha," and he walked away.
As we entered the courtyard, we heard Alpha Thomas mention on the pack link that all pack members were to be in the courtyard immediately. "I wonder what's about," I said inquiringly. Gradually, the courtyard filled with chattering pack members. Everyone became silent when Alpha Thomas appeared on the podium and raised his hand.
"I want to thank everyone for coming so quickly. The throng gathered around them, staring at Ethan and mumbling, "I called you here to inform you and my son Kaden to be returning from Echo House today at 10 am." "Silence," Alpha Thomas commanded, and the assembly once more became silent. "I am aware of my son's past, but I don't want that to disprove your belief that he is unfit to be an Alpha. Although he is now stable and more than capable, he will be...distant from most others. Other than that, though, he's well, back on his feet, and prepared to assume the role of your Alp-" Abruptly, a pack member interrupted Ethan by yelling the pack connection.
I believe Nick stated, "There's a group of rogues attacking the borders." "Are you sure?" asked Alpha Thomas via the URL in the bundle. "Good. He said, "There are too many; we need backup," as Alpha Thomas began yelling commands at everyone, including Ethan. "Go to the safe house, everyone. I want you to aid the others, Ethan, along with fifteen other warriors. When they failed or someone launched a surprise assault, the surviving members of the pack stood ready to defend the group," Alpha Thomas commanded, and everyone complied.
I was one of the fifteen warriors whom Uncle Ethan selected to assist. We hurried to the borders to assist the other pack members after receiving our amour. Our troops were fending off about thirty rouges when we got there. A few pack members remain standing while others have serious injuries. Since Uncle Ethan and the 15 others he brought with him are included, it appears that we are down to only 20 members.
I caught sight of a rogue looming over one of our fighters out of the corner of my eye. He was hurt and unable to free himself from the rogue's hold. With a swift motion, I sprang forward, seized the rouge by the neck, and flung him off of him. The rogue got back up fast and prepared to throw a punch at me. I glared at him before striking.
I ruined it. The redhead. And without turning into a wolf, I murdered a great deal more people. My wolf hasn't spoken to me in three years, and she won't come out until she wants to. Thus, when I'm in danger, I've begun attempting to fight as well in my human form. I usually carry a sword because of this.
We weren't winning, in my opinion, because when you eliminate one, two more appear. From where do all these rouges originate?
"Ahh," someone said, and I turned to see Uncle Ethan lying on the ground. I noticed a rouge who appeared to be a leader since he was stronger and more muscular than Uncle Ethan. He is the rebellious boss. I glared as I moved toward them, but more rouges tried to block my path. Uncle Ethan would be dead by the time I finish them, especially given his current condition. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to reach Uncle Ethan amidst the horde of rouges. At this pace, I'm not going to make it to him.
No
At that point, I heard it.
A wolf's snarl reached my ears. Our bodies halted instantly, and a chill went down our spines, indicating that it was an Alpha. No, this one was stronger than Alpha Thomas. Strong enough to cause the ground beneath my feet to tremble. All eyes, including the rouge leader's, turned toward what they saw: a midnight black wolf with blood-red eyes. Perched atop its little hill, it gazed down upon us with the dignity of a peasant. It snarls once again, grabbing everyone's attention.
Who is this guy?
I didn't give the idea any thought before hurriedly walking over to see Uncle Ethan.
I executed a stealth strike, catching the rogues by surprise. In an attempt to assist Uncle Ethan, I ran over. The rogue leader tried to claw at me after sensing my presence and growling at me. I made a big mistake by ducking and slamming my sword into his abdomen. Despite his agonised cry, he continued to claw at me, which I quickly avoided. I drew my blade and gave him a kick to the exact spot where I had stabbed him. He collapsed back onto the floor.
Uncle Ethan was grasping his shoulders and blood was leaking from the cut swiftly, so I hurriedly tended to him. "Let's head," I declared. I could feel someone approaching me at that point. When I looked up, I saw the same Bright Moon black wolf, its fangs blazing, sprinting in my direction. I dodged on impulse, and it sprang over my head and attacked the rouge that was ready to bite me in the back.
Uncle Ethan was carried by some pack warriors to a secure location behind some trees, where a group of medical professionals were caring for all the other wounded warriors. I swiftly returned to the battle and saw that Ethan was maybe ten werewolves attempting to repel the midnight black wolf.
I'm done with these jerks. I slung my blade back into its holster and charged the wolf. I am aware that Alphas can defeat 10 to 15 werewolves, Alpha Kings can defeat up to 25 or 30, Hybrids can probably defeat up to 35 or 40, and Lycans can defeat an unlimited number of werewolves.
In any case, I killed any rogues who tried to stop me as I hurried across the field. Before I could get to the black-haired, Midnight wolf, a really large male approached me. He's as big as Trice!!!!!! I attempted to combat him. I tried kicking him, punching him, and even using my werewolf strength. Nothing was successful. In the wolf form, my strength surpasses that of my human form. Even now, my wolf chooses to take a leave of absence.
After a few seconds, I was able to steady myself after he head-butted me. He shattered my left arm, hit me in the face, and kneeled me in the stomach. I let out a painful "Ahh," and he flung me to the ground. It was then that I noticed my sword lying there. While I was fighting this gorilla, I dropped it. I grabbed onto the sword as the rouge began to approach me. When he got near enough, I turned and gave him a heart stab. I attempted to get back up on my feet without using my left arm as he collapsed to the ground. He rested on my sword, which was still in his chest. That must hurt, ouch.
When I looked up, I noticed that another rogue was attacking The Midnight Black Wolf. I'm not sure why it took me so long to notice, but he smells like the Bright Moon pack. He's the son of Alpha Thomas. How was I supposed to miss it?
I dashed towards them at full speed. The Midnight Black Wolf, whose name I still don't know, was about to be clawed by the rogue when I used all of my remaining power to drive him away. He staggered off but was able to gather himself. I felt the rogues leave a large claw mark on my neck as they clawed at it.
That ached like hell!
In an instant, the black-haired Midnight wolf dispatched the renegade.
Raina's POV
The rogues gradually began to lose stamina after Forty minutes of combat, which made it simpler for us. Together with their captain, the rogues began to withdraw. Despite the excruciating discomfort in my neck, I remained silent and didn't make any noise. I'm not accustomed to having a deep werewolf cut on my neck, though. I'll leave that to the doctor, but my arm also has to be popped back into position. I've never been a fan of popping bones back into position. At least not my arm, unless it's only a finger or so. That will hurt like crazy! But I need medical treatment now more than ever. Even if my neck wound isn't that deep, it still hurts.
Just when the leader, nearly fully cured, was ready to go. He continued to bleed. After turning around, he glanced at us. Probably at the Alpha of the future. With a look of disbelief, he turned to face him. as though he was acquainted with him.
"Kaden Samuels?" he inquired, grinning, as he stepped forward. Warriors take up attack stances close to the midnight blue wolf as the combat has ceased. "You know for a moment almost didn't recognize you," he grinned, and the midnight black-haired wolf-whom I now know to be Kaden-shifted to put on the shorts that were fastened around his leg. "Kyle Turner," explained Kaden. "So, are you aware of me? Alright. But do you recall Elena? The person with whom you professed to be in love? The one you were meant to shield? The person for whom you were meant to fight? Elena, do you still recall that? MY SISTER ELENA? "With a scornful tone, he yelled the final line at Kaden.
Naturally, I do recall her. She was - " The renegade leader, whose name I now know is Kyle, interrupted Kaden. "Nah! She wasn't. He replied, "You never showed her any affection," but Kaden said nothing. Kaden, keep this day in mind. I've spent years assembling this pack, and now I'm prepared to get revenge on her. You've merely scratched the surface of my abilities. He turned to face Kaden and stated, "I'll be back for you and your pack." I growled at Kyle without thinking, telling him to keep out or I would attack him, even though it hurt. He grinned as he glanced at me. "Before she bleeds out, you ought to take your little warrior to the hospital. Without looking away, he replied, "Wouldn't want you to lose another person you claim to care about."
In the space of a few seconds, they were gone, leaving everyone else relieved. Everyone's gaze was fixed on Alpha. Looking behind Kaden's back to where they'd stood before heading out. I believe he turned to face everyone after sensing their attention.
When he commanded, "Get all the injured warriors to the pack hospital now," everyone said, "Yes Alpha."
As he continued, "I'm not Alpha yet, so please call me Kaden," everyone exchanged hesitant glances before yelling, "Yes, Kaden."
To assist the wounded soldiers, everyone began to rush towards them. I'm so tired that I think I could pass out at any minute.
I turned to my wolf and said, "I could use some help here."
Not a reply
Fantastic. Excellent. I have to wait for healing for a day or two now. Even though I believed there were enough warriors to aid everyone without my assistance, I went to check on Uncle Ethan and assisted any warrior in need. Even so, I doubt that my shattered arm would be of much assistance to anyone.
I heard Kaden remark, "Female warrior," and I froze. Even though I wasn't sure if he was referring to me, I turned to face him. I winced, "Kaden," but continued to speak with my Alpha. He straightened in front of me and said, "State your name and rank."
"Mason Raina. "Daughter of Dr. Mariah Mason and Enforcer Ethan," I addressed him as he stepped toward me. With a worried look on his face, he added, "Well then, Raina Mason, thank you for saving me and I'm sorry that you had to get hurt because of me." "Kaden, no need for that Alpha. It's part of the job," I informed him. He gave me a nod, and I noticed that his eyebrows were knitted together. "How are you doing? Apart from the slash, are you okay? Were you injured before that? He enquired.
"My arm is just broken, nothing serious," I said, brushing it off. That's what I heard, I see. From across the field, I heard a female roar and bones shattering. I nod in agreement as he says, "Just by the sound of it, it sounds pretty painful." "May I?" he said, and I gave him a perplexed look. As he extended his hand to take mine, I noticed that his veins were becoming black. I understood his actions. He feels my anguish.
Alphas can ease others' suffering. They know how to do it when they have control. Should he be careless, he may erase all of my suffering, including the hurt caused by my rejection. He sprang away and pulled away.
I was handed my sword by a warrior who said, "Raina, I think this is yours." I accepted it with my undamaged arm and murmured, "Thank you." He gave me a nod before walking away, swinging the sword into my hand and putting it in its holster around my back.
He replied, "You should get that cleaned up," and I nodded before moving to join the others. As best I could for my condition, I assisted the others in carrying the wounded warriors back to the pack hospital. Fortunately, they were only hurt and not killed. The pack doctor, Michael, and a few others began tending to them right away. I remained at Uncle Ethan's side the entire time they were assisting with his recovery. "Rain I'll be alright. He responded, "Go and let them look at you too, but I wasn't leaving." I'm obstinate and say, "No, I'm fine," as though he didn't know. He yelled out to me, "Raina," and I turned to face him. "Go, I'll be alright. I'll be in excellent hands since your aunt is on her way. Please go check that out for me. He grinned and I sighed, "You know you have to before it starts to heal." I said, "Ok," and gave him a forehead kiss.
I ran into someone after leaving the room. Because of the state my arm is in, I winced when I felt the agony. It was Kaden, as I saw when I looked up. He said, "Raina," to me. I clutched onto my arm and said, "Alpha," to him. He arched an eyebrow in response to what I did.
"Why are you still not healed? Have you not been examined previously? He enquired. "No, I stayed with my uncle the entire time and helped out. He nods, and I move away. I asked the receptionist if any physicians were available. "But I was just about to go look for a doctor right now." I wouldn't be shocked if she said that the physicians were busy since we had a large number of warriors who had been hurt during the battle and not many of them were here. She instructed me to wait in room 302 and assured me that a physician would arrive soon. I'm in room 302 all the time. I have no idea why I even asked. Jake has been my doctor every time I've been admitted to the hospital, and I've always been placed in room 302. Since he constantly wants to see how I'm doing, I believe he has something to do with it.
For some reason, Kaden has been following me around ever since I left Uncle Ethan's room. "Is there something you need, Alpha Kaden?" "I only wanted to confirm that you saw the physician. "You appear to be the kind of person who doesn't seem to care if you're in pain," he remarked, crossing his arms over his chest. He said to me as I leaned off the receptionist's desk and made my way to room 302. "So I'll escort you to the doctor myself," When we got to the room, Kaden stood and I sat down on the bed, and we both waited for Jake to arrive.
After ten minutes
"I just mind linking a doctor but it seems like they're all busy due to the number of warriors they have so they won't be here for a while," Kaden remarked to me. I was simply sighing. "Ok," I said, getting up to approach the cabinet containing all the supplies I would need to clean this wound. "What are you doing?" He enquired. "I can't hold out for a physician. I responded, "If my wounds haven't already, they will become infected," pulling out the alcohol and shutting the cabinet.
Everything is now on the counter, and I've begun washing my wound. "You know how to use those things?" Kaden approached me and inquired. "I have some knowledge," I said. Gently, he pulled me back into the hospital bed after taking the piece of cloth from me. The only thing he said after placing the towel in my mouth was, "So do I." "Let's pop your hand back in place," Then, without suddenly, he snapped my bone back into place by placing his right hand on my damaged arm and his left arm on my injured shoulder. The anguish made me scream, and I believe tears welled up in my eyes.
That was painful!
My werewolf fangs pierced through the material and I felt blood on my lips, so it didn't help. When Kaden took off the towel and saw the blood, he apologized profusely to me. He murmured, "Sorry," and then started to clean my neck's wound. He remarked, "This is going to hurt," and then he put some alcohol into the towel and placed it on my neck. It was quite hot. I bit my tongue and clenched my fist to keep from shouting in agony. For the most part, we were silent while I watched him tend to my wound. I interrupted him as he began to tie the big band-aid over my wound. "A thing or two huh?" He grinned and showed me his dimples when I stated this while glancing at him.
That's adorable.
"Even though I intended to become an alpha when I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor. Not to boast or anything, but I finished medical school also at the top of my class," he laughed. "Why try something that you know is not gonna last?" My curiosity overcame me.
He smiled and said, "I wanted to do something I love before taking on the role of being Alpha." "I don't have the same freedom to select my career as the rest of the group. in particular, because I am an only child. I live my life in anticipation of that great day," he says, seeming dejected despite his grin. However, further inspection reveals that the grin is melancholy.
That's not how I always imagined things to be. I've always believed that Alpha accepted and was comfortable with their role as our leader. I was never aware of their wishes.
"How do you feel?" Pulling me back down to earth, he questioned. I said, "Um, better, thank you," grinning a little. I told him, "You would have made a great doctor," and he gave me a big smile in return.
Five minutes later, Jake showed up. Sorry for taking so long. One of the patients had an emergency," stated Jake. Then he got closer and found that my arm bones were back in place and the slash had been cleaned up. "Did another doctor come in here?" His face was plastered with perplexity as he inquired, his eyes darting between Kaden and me.
"No I just patch her up a bit," Kaden responded and Jake glanced at him, amazed. He continued without taking his eyes off of me, "But she's going to need some painkillers just to help her wolf heal her and she also needs a lot of rest to help the process."
"I confess I'm impressed by Alpha. I'll go get the analgesics and set up a room for her immediately. But in the interim would you like to make a report on this?" Jake questioned, and Jake sent him a brief, wide-eyed glance. "Are you sure?" He inquired gently, attempting to hide his enthusiasm I can tell. "You are the one who 'patched her up a bit " Jake responded and instructed Kaden to accompany him outside after he set up the IV chord simply for a check-up and to inject fluids in my body and all the work before departing with Kaden.
Now I'm alone in the room.
'Hey, are you fine there?' I asked Lizzy. That's her name. Lizzy.
No answer.
I sighed heavily and without a second thought, I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
'I hope you'll talk to me. I detest being in hospitals.
The room I was in with Kaden a few hours ago is where I woke up. I can go now that my wound has healed and I've had enough sleep. I didn't wait for Jake to give me the all-clear to go. Long hospital stays have never appealed to me. It only serves as a reminder that my healing has slowed down. that there is nothing I can do to stop my wolf from becoming weaker. Yes, Jake is upset that I'm leaving before I'm well, but I have to go. I took the sheet off my leg and got up. I stepped to the door after putting on my shoes that were next to my bed. An alarm went off as I pushed the door towards me. Leaning my head against the glass door, I sighed. I mumbled, "Well played, Jake," but I'm sure he heard me. I took a seat on the bed, stepping back from the door. I can see him grinning already.
Jake's POV
Before going to another patient's room, I was discussing the wounded pack members with Alpha Kaden at the receptionist's table. We are a tad short-staffed right now since more warriors were hurt than we anticipated and we neglected to call in all of our doctors. He wanted to know when they may be released later tonight or early tomorrow morning, as well as if the injuries were severe.
"Well, they're not all injured in the same way. Some of their wounds are too severe for them to heal, therefore depending on their wolf, they may take a day and a half or two to heal. Their partners may also aid in their recovery. He nodded as I went over a file that the receptionist had given me for my next patient. "The rest of them just need a lot of rest and hopefully, they can be out by tomorrow morning."
"What about Raina?" As he asked, I tried not to grin. I get the impression that these two will become very, how could I put it, fond. interested. Of course, this might all be hyperbole with one another. I turned to gaze at him, thinking to myself. "Everyone is aware that Raina cannot be kept in the hospital for an extended time, not even for relaxation. "She despises hospitals," I said, turning back to the paperwork. It was then that the alarm went off. "By the time you walk back into that room, I bet she's gone, unless," I added. Because everyone was used to this, neither I nor anybody else was disturbed by it. Everyone, that is, excluding Alpha Kaden, naturally. I often forget that he is new to this.
"Why is it there? Why isn't the alert getting any response?" With a bewildered expression, he inquired. Raina called out to me from her room, "Well played, Jake," and I grinned. I threatened to build an alarm system and shut the hospital doors a few months ago if Raina continued to vanish every time she had the opportunity. She always stays in room 302. It's her room, alone her room. I doubt she was going to smash the glass doors since once the alarm goes off, the doors cannot be opened from the inside.
Would she?
Now that I think about it, I should attempt to have it changed to something more difficult. I suppose that since I didn't inform her about the alert when I received it, she was taken aback. Although Raina despises hospitals, she has a propensity to think everything will be well. Which is okay occasionally, but by the time you return, Raina will have left if you leave her to rest in a hospital room. She finally returns to the hospital after that.
"That Alpha Kaden, that would be Raina," I said, returning the paperwork to the front desk clerk. I told her to "put this in my office please," and I went to Raina's room. He replied, "Call me Kaden," and I nodded. When we got to Raina's door, I grinned and unlocked it after turning off the alarm.
I apologise, but I don't believe I have seen you before. "Who are you?" To tease her, I inquired, putting my eyebrows together and pretending as if I didn't know her. With a blank expression, she said, "I'm a masked murderer who plans to take your life." "How can you be a masked murderer if you don't have a mask?"
"Who says I don't?" She smiled in response.
"Are you serious? Then I need to give the Alpha a call-wait, he's already here," I smiled in response. "Well, I must get out of here quickly since that huge evil wolf is going to murder me. She shot back, a sneer on her gorgeous face, "But before I die, call the doctor to patch me up, oh wait, I forgot I killed him already." To be clear, I'm keeping myself for my partner and am not into Raina. Yes, even at twenty-five, I still haven't found the right partner.
"Okay, I have no response," we both chuckled thereafter.
"Well, you are aware of how this ends. It is unlikely that you and your wolf will recover as fast as other werewolves due to your current state. It could take a day and a half at most to heal this wound. Thus, go gentle. To aid with the discomfort, may I offer you some painkillers? She gave me a nod of the head. I detest how she looks like this. When she is injured, she realises that she won't recover as quickly without her wolf. All I want is for her to be cautious and for her wolf to find her again.
I handed her the analgesics she was holding. I added, "I suggest you take one now," and she nodded. I said, "I'll go get you some water," and left the room.
Raina's POV
It was only after Jake left the room that I noticed Kaden was inside. "So are you feeling better?" He enquired. After I said, "Yeah, I'm ok, thank you again," Jake returned. I took the pills and he handed me the water. After ingesting it, I sprang off the bed. I said to Jake, "Bye," and he grinned back as I walked away. Uncle Ethan was asleep when I walked to where he was, but I halted outside the door. Grinning, I leaned against the door frame.
I shut his door so he could sleep well and headed toward the door. That's where Luna Audrey and Alpha Thomas came in. They came to embrace me as soon as they saw me. "We arrived as quickly as possible," Alpha Thomas said. "We just heard what happened, are you ok?" As they moved away from me, Luna Audrey inquired, and I gave a nod. Yes, I'm OK. They both seemed perplexed when I responded, "But I think you should save the hugs for your son." At that moment, they turned to face the man standing a short distance away from us. Even with my back to him, I can still detect his presence since I smelled him.
The first to move was Luna Audrey, who hugged her kid before he returned the favour. Thomas the Alpha approached them and encircled them with his arms. I grinned at the figure, seeing tears welling up in their eyes. "Hello, Mom..."Hello Dad," Kaden murmured, but his voice broke as tears cascaded out of his eyes. He gave them a strong embrace as if they might soon vanish. I lowered my head and brushed away the tears that had just escaped my eyes.
Think about how it would feel to be surrounded by my blood relatives. My parents in real life. I have no idea whether I have any siblings at all. Perhaps a younger sibling who annoys us by running about the home and making sounds, or perhaps an older sibling who is protective of us. Imagine myself living that kind of life. Though I'm thankful for Uncle Ethan and Aunt Mariah every day, is it unreasonable that I'd ever consider it?
I sensed someone was staring at me and I turned to face them again. Kaden. For a few seconds, I kept my eyes fixed on him before turning to leave the hospital. I rushed quickly through the bushes. It was already dusk, but that didn't bother me. My feet hurt from jogging for so long after an hour, but I didn't want to stop.
"Lizzy, please." No answer. "Lizzy, say something." Just as I was about to cut off communication with my wolf, I heard it.
"R-Raina" I abruptly stopped as Lizzy responded, "Lizzy? How are you doing, God? I apologise for not being there for you. However, since the rejection, I've been gradually losing my strength. "What?"
"I am feeling less strong than usual. I attempt to become stronger again. It's just too difficult... It's just too difficult. I think I'm going to die.
"Why didn't you inform me sooner?"I never imagined things would become this terrible, and you're always busy helping others with their issues and trying to get along with everyone else. I did not want to burden you with any more burdens. You are welcome to visit me at any time. "Lizzy, you are important too, no matter how busy I am." "T-thanks, Raina." "I'll figure out a way to help you regain strength." "I-I won't be in contact for a while." B-but don't worry, I'm here for you. Just keep fighting,"
Then, without warning, she severed our connection. I dropped to my knees, feeling my feet give up on me. Both death and being alone myself no longer terrify me. However, you can't help but think about someone you care about and who is related to you passing away without your knowledge. Who in their right mind would do that to their wolf? Their closest pal? I'm a horrible person, and I eagerly await the day when I'll be lifted from the ground and into the sky. somewhere I feel content with who I am.
I leaned against a tree behind me, folded my knees to my chest, and encircled them with my arms while gazing out at the pitch-black forest. To have some alone time with my buddy Darkness, I broke the mental connection between myself and the pack.
Even though I knew it was late-it seemed like it was minutes to ten-I didn't give a damn. I have remained put. In the dark, chilly wilderness. By yourself. All I want to do is freeze. For once, experience coldness. I want the absolute minimum of warmth and comfort, and I want to tremble from the cold. I want to remain in this state. And I want to pass away alone when I do. There is no purpose to life without my partner. Finding our partners and spending the rest of our lives with them was our birthright. to become parents, age together, and die away together. None of it would exist without our partners. There's no goal.
Nobody else is what you would desire. For the next six months, I sobbed every night when my partner rejected me three years ago. I suppose the moon goddess had other ideas for me since I was saved by either Uncle Ethan, Aunt Mariah, Alpha Thomas, or Luna Audrey, even though I attempted to kill myself. When I do things like that, Aunt Mariah and Luna Audrey always weep, and I detest bringing them to tears. Though I could see they were concerned about me, Uncle Ethan and Alpha Thomas were trying to be tough. I despised myself and I was hurting them. For them, I wanted to be resilient.
To help them feel better, I exercised and made an effort to be there. I keep reminding myself to "fake it till you make it." However, my wolf is now dying, and if I don't assist her, I'll eventually die along with her. Because without her, I could not possibly continue living here on Earth. My partner has already left me. I couldn't bear to lose Lizzy as well. I'm left with a specific question after thinking about it. Will my life always be like this from now on?
