"You bastard!" The boss yelled, taking the glass of water on the table, and splashing it on Ethan's face.

"Get out! No one wants a pauper like you here." She said, through gritted teeth.

"And no one wants an unreasonable boss like you!" Ethan fired back, angrily as he couldn't let her continue to look down on him. At his words, his boss burst into a peal of hilarious laughter mixed with annoyance.

"You know what, you are fired!" She declared with a wicked look in her eyes. She wanted Ethan to beg her, groveling on the floor, because she knew he had nowhere else to make more money.

"What? You can't fire me! I know my rights!" Ethan said with a firm tone. Though he couldn't keep himself from talking back at his boss, he didn't want to get fired.

"Do you think your rights work here? I own this company and even if you complain to HR, no one will help you. Now, leave before I call the police on you!" The boss ordered with an angry look on her face.

Ethan was boiling in anger knowing this was unfair. He hated his job but needed it. He thought of suing his boss but he had no money. He knew that he would have to beg to get his job back and for a few seconds, he contemplated what to do next.

"Fine!" He said, firmly as he wasn't willing to beg like she thought. Before her eyes, he walked out but deep in his heart, he was pained because it wasn't even his first time being fired from a job due to ridiculous reasons. This time, after the New Year's holiday, his boss asked him to complete a week's worth of work in two days. How the hell was he supposed to do that? He had to confront her and all she said was he should have known better than to come back to the office with a New Year gift.

His boss wanted gifts or some bribe money but he had no money to give. Even if he had it, Ethan would rather spend his money on his girlfriend. At this point, he was used to being fired because one time, he refused to sleep with one of his previous bosses. He could never think of cheating on his girlfriend, so he lost his job in good faith.

Now, all he would do was look for another job but even with this hopeful thinking, he was frustrated. He stormed out of the building, with his clothes wet and a tired face. His whole body ached and he recalled that he didn't even have money for a bus fare home. He gave his money to his girlfriend who demanded it urgently and just at that time, she called.

A smile bloomed on Ethan's face seeing it was Becca calling and swiftly he picked up the call.

"Hello, I..." He was about to tell her he would be home soon as he walked quickly on the sidewalks of the road but she cut him off, rudely.

"Let's break up." Her smooth voice resounded from the other end phone, making him halt his steps.

"What? Why?" Ethan asked, hurriedly as he felt this gripping feeling in his body and his heart rate sped up.

"I'm tired! You are poor and can't even provide my basic needs like I want. You are not enough, Ethan, goodbye." She said and her words were like tiny needles spreading in his heart.

"But..." He wanted to defend himself but she cut him off again.

"Never call me, again!" She declared and in the next second, she disconnected the call, not caring about how he would feel.

Ethan was lost and his body turned weak as the hand holding the phone fell to the side, with the phone falling off.

"Becca..." He said, with so much love mixed with pain as his eyes turned red, and they started to water.

"Why?" He asked, taking a step forward, forgetting his phone and he didn't even know where he was going anymore. His vision was blurry due to unshed tears but all he knew was that he was moving.

"Hey!!!" A loud voice suddenly resounded in the air, causing Ethan to come back to his senses but it was too late. He looked aside to see a truck approaching with the horning sound blaring so loud. However, he couldn't move, and swiftly, he was hit and his body was thrown off, to the side of the road.

Screams of horror echoed on the road as everyone watched Ethan bleeding from all sides. His leg was twisted and there was a bloody gash on the side of his face.

"In this life, I never got to enjoy the sweetest things..." Ethan slowly said, inwardly as his vision started to black out while he was losing blood so fast.

He then continued, "...Not even sex."

Ethan's eyes opened up slowly and he could feel his heart thumping in his chest. Was he scared or not, he wasn't sure about that because he started to wonder whether he was in the bad part of the afterlife or not?

His eyes were a bit dizzy at first but then they slowly made out where he was. And then his heart skipped a beat seeing that he was at the hospital with other patients in his ward.

"I'm not dead!"

He wasn't sure whether to be happy about that because he could feel pain shooting through his body and he was practically wrapped in bandages. The pain was getting too much and he could feel his body almost convulsing.

The machines connected to his body started to blare loudly and he opened his mouth to call for a nurse but there was none around.

"Any...anyone there?" he struggled to say and his breath caught in his throat while he held onto the bedside tightly, to fight the pain. But suddenly everything stopped, his body went still and it was as if the whole world went silent.

He couldn't hear the blaring sounds anymore and there was a loud silence in his head. And then suddenly, a robotic voice echoed in his head spreading to his ears, almost deafening them.

"Stay calm, the doctor is coming soon." Another patient said and all he could do was nod. They probably didn't notice what just happened to me. It was surreal but was also familiar.

Suddenly, a screen appeared before his eyes and he gasped in surprise mixed with shock. It was a bit translucent and he looked around to see if anyone had noticed but no one did.

On the screen were a few things to take note of and he frowned lightly wondering what all these meant.

"What are all these?" he asked and he got the answer right away as that voice from earlier resonated in his head again and words were displayed on the screen.

"I... I... am just too stunned by your beauty." He muttered, with an intense look in his eyes. His words caused the doctor to gasp a bit, surprised because she never expected it. But then her pale and stressed face blushed slightly, regaining color.

"Oh, wow..." She let out a shaky voice and then slowly slipped her hand away from Ethan's chest while she placed a lock of hair behind her ear.

"You must be joking. I look so stressed." She said, looking the other way to control the smile creeping on her lips. It had been a long and tiring day for her, embarrassed by her tired looks but her patient was making her smile effortlessly.

"Of course, not," Ethan said instantly, letting out the most sexy smile he could pull off.

"Alright, thank you." The doctor replied as she tried to suppress her smile and regain her composure. Ethan thought of saying something more beautiful to her but then he realized he would come off as too pushy. It might even seem creepy to her, so he took a step back and that was for her to take a step forward to him.

He let her examine him while his eyes followed every one of her moves. He wasn't trying to monitor her but then he had this hot gaze. At the same time, his fingers brushed over her slightly making her shiver a bit.

"Is this making a real impact?" He asked, inwardly and he smirked, wickedly and that made the doctor raise her brows in question.

"How? What do you see in my eyes?" He asked, as his eyes turned dimmer and hotter while his smirk grew into a proud one since he knew his flirting skills were working. He looked more confident now and that was the greatest appeal.

"You look like you could devour me..." She bent down slightly, to whisper those words and some locks of her hair fell off. Ethan took the opportunity to take them in his hands, twisting them softly.

He tugged on her hair slightly and she bent lower.

"Would you want me to? Trust me, you won't regret it..." He said while he sniffed her hair. Her scent was intoxicating and he closed his eyes, inhaling more. By his actions, he showed just how intoxicated he was with her and this made the doctor feel good.

Slowly, he let go of her hair, causing her to straighten up because the other patients had started to look at them, weirdly. There was only a curtain hiding them from other patients and it wasn't completely drawn closed.

"We could swipe this curtain and you could tell me whatever you want me to do to you. Your wish is my command, lady." Ethan proposed and then winked at her.

His wink wasn't obnoxious but it was just right, blowing her away. At this point, he had scored himself a few points with the doctor. Her face was red as she started to think of different things he could do for her, right on that bed. But then she composed herself, knowing she couldn't do that to her patient.

"I don't think we could do that here..." The doctor replied with a slight blush. Ethan was about to speak up but she cut him off.

"Just relax, please, let me examine you calmly." She ordered and Ethan nodded. But all through, he looked at her intensely and she could not keep herself from smiling and glancing at Ethan from time to time.

"Alright, I'm done." She said, slightly bent toward him and Ethan nodded. He didn't hesitate to brush his fingers on her cheek, trailing them to her neck. He then took his hand off.

"Bye..." He said, waving at her with a sexy smirk. His actions caused the doctor's face and body to turn hotter. While she left the hospital ward, she couldn't stop glancing at Ethan with a shy smile.

As soon as she was gone, that robotic voice resounded in his head.
