My Princess

It's been years since I met my parents. The only way I get my family's whereabouts is by the two beautiful adorable friends, but more like sisters Khushi and Chavi. I and Khushi are of the same age. And Chavi is two years younger. Our chemistry is so strong, without saying a word we understand each other's mood and gestures, by the way, we Indians are very famous for our eyes gesture and nodding habits. I will be back with my family when I will complete my mission, find and punish the murderer of my deceased elder sister Kavya. She was my wonder woman.

Everyone adores her; she was talented and beautiful inside out.

We were a happy family, but the happiness didn't stay long as I was house arrested after Kavya Di's death. Baba (Dad) never allowed me outside of the world... No one has ever seen me in person. People have no clue, how I look. I did my senior high and college from home, I still miss that phase of my life where could I have some good times to be remembered.

Many know about this incident, but no one knows the real reason except my family and my friends Tanya and Aditya.

Tanni and Aditya are elder than me. They were Kavya Di's friends. After Kavya Di's demise, Tanni and Aditya took great care of me as a younger sister. They are my elder sister and brother. Tanni Di is a doctor and Aditya is in the hotel and construction business.

I was on the watch all the time, and my bodyguards followed me everywhere. No one could imagine, how suffocating it was. I guess even I breathed on the count. No one wants to live a life where it's a constant reminder that you were the reason behind your loved one deceased. This burden never allowed me to breathe in peace.

An incident with Kavya Di, made me understand life is unpredictable and always prepared for the worst. Never let your situation make you feel pity for yourself. That's why; I learned everything to make baba understand that I am strong, physically and mentally as well. I learned marshals and finger art (using your finger's pressure at certain points of the body makes a person unconscious), business management and psychology, and many more. Still, Baba never allowed me. I guess, he is afraid to lose me like Kavya Di.

My siblings have seen me living a suffocating life. I remembered the day when Shaurya Bhai (my elder brother) and Khushi helped me to escape. Though security was tight, my siblings managed. My family is under the impression; that I left as they imprisoned me.

I knew Maa and Baba were worried. I could have imagined their worried faces, but I want to punish that killer.

I flew to New York, and had enough money for survival, at least for six to seven months. I knew very well where to spend money to keep it flowing, i.e., the Stock market. It's risky, but I have to take it. I learned about the stock market from my elder brother Shaurya. He is a genius in it. I use to call him Money Man. I love to learn new things and because of this hobby, my life has become easier.

I know my family is searching for me. To conceal myself, I changed my looks to baggy clothes, old specs, and some makeup to hide my features. Now you are thinking about who I am. I am a princess.

One of my aims in life is to get that murderer and hand over him to Baba. I cannot bring back Kavya Di; at least this gives me a sense of relief. No one is aware of my mission. It's between me, my sisters and friends. Especially, Me and Chavi quite involved in it.

Last three years, we have all been making sure, that no one gets tracks me down, not even my family. We are attentive with my brothers Shaurya and Hridya.

We connect each other cautiously, not to be tracked.

After that occurrence, our families are meticulous toward Khushi and Chavi. They didn't prison them. However, my sisters have to give their whereabouts almost every day to family over the phone or video call.

I knew my family are missing me too. Everyone surmises Baba is the stone heart, but he is a bruiser with a soft center. I guess all dads are the same. We always talk about Mom and scarifies, but we hardly cogitate about dad. Mothers are expressive. Dad, they will never let others know how they are feeling. Both parents have different responsibilities. If anyone is missing, the family is incomplete. They are our family pillars.

Currently, I am working in a Robotics company owned by Lemaire Industries on a pretty good salary. New York living standards are stratospheric, for good life your pocket always needs to be full.

Today, it's my birthday. I am missing my boyfriends and chilies a lot. Yes, you read it correctly; my boyfriends include my Dadu (Grandpa), Baba, Uncle Swaraj, and my brothers (Shaurya and Hridya). Chilies are my Maa and Aunt Sukriti. However, I am lucky my sisters and Aditya are with me to celebrate.

"Wait what... Oh, come on Adira, how long you will hide. I am missing my Adira, who was so lively" Khushi said, daggering her eyes on Adira.

"I am not afraid of anyone; you know it well...It's just, I want to be careful and as per our recent research, that psycho is near" Adira replied.

"I am there to protect you all" Aditya replied. "Keep your protection with you. I just want peace" Adira replied while enjoying the cake.

"Di we all are looking for that culprit, but because of him, we can't kill our happy moments...We will go shopping and clubbing, back by 10...No heavy drinking. Please" Chavi begged with a puppy face. Adira was surprised by Khushi's actions. Khushi was on her knees. Adira smiled "No". Both girls were shocked by her reply.

"I want to celebrate my birthday with people who love me. We are going to Ashraya," Adira announced.

Khushi said, "Great Idea, but...". She bought tickets for a week's stay in Tongass National Forest. Adira is smiling, her eyes lit up with happiness. She hugged Khushi.

"Thanks, Guys. I loved the gift, after Ashraya, we will leave for Rain Forest".

We reached Ashraya. I am hiding inside the car to surprise all. Everyone looks so joyful, hugging each other. They were expecting me as well. Everyone knew it was my birthday, but got downhearted. Soon evening arrives. All arrangements and decorations are completed. Everyone is getting ready for the party; it's going to start at 5:00 pm.

Khushi hold the mike and squealed "Let's party". Everyone echoed "yeah". All kids running toward the Ashraya club. Everyone performs poems, dances, stories, and thanks gestures. Later, Aditya played a song collection (Bollywood/Tollywood/Hollywood) and everyone is on the floor. Dancing, enjoying, and chatting. Aditya knew Adira is a fan of Bollywood songs and dialogues. She usually uses them a lot in her conversations.

Aditya announced, "Adira, we request you to sing a song for us". Everyone cheering Adira's name. She smiles "What song should I sing, Grannie Anna" .... Grannie Anna is the oldest member of Ashraya... Grannie replied "My child, sing any song close to your heart" Adira replied "Grannie Anna your chosen song will be a blessing for me" Grannie Anna was touched by Adira's gesture. She replied, "Can't Help Falling in Love". Everyone claps.

Lights got dimmed Adira starts singing where Chavi and Khushi are playing piano "Wise men say only fools rush in but I can't help falling in love with you......".

Everyone got spellbound by her voice.

It's already 10:00 pm. Khushi and Aditya announced the end of the party. Still, no one wants to leave. Kids are anxious if everyone will leave after the party.

Aditya announced, "Hello Everyone, We are not leaving tomorrow. We are going to spend two days with you". Every kid gestured their pinky finger and asked "Pinky Promise". We ensured them with our pinky finger "Pinky Promise". Everyone jumps and leaves for bed.

Next day....

Uncle Joseph is a guardian and supervises Ashraya. He came to Adira and Khushi to give all expense details. "Adira, Khushi, Here expenses details of Ashraya". Adira and Khushi smiled at Joseph. Adira moved to Joseph and hold his hand "Uncle, We trust you and we are not here for expense reports". Khushi walked towards Joseph "Please don't embrace us". Adira made Joseph sit on the chair and kneel in front of him "Uncle we here to know, if anything we are lacking for our family, just let us know". Joseph was ecstatically overwhelmed and said "No my child. We are more than full".

Adira hummed and observed that Joseph is a bit uncomfortable. He is hesitant to give a gift to Adira but ambivalent if she will like it. She asked with a bit concerned "Uncle, Are you ok." Joseph is holding a small box in his hand, trying to hide it. Adira has seen the box. She understood Joseph's hesitation. Adira asked Khushi "Khushi, I forgot to convey Aditya was looking for you". Khushi understood the message, replied "oh ok. Let me check" and left. Adira smiled "Uncle, Can you give me a gift now". Joseph handed the box to Adira "It's a small gift Adira. I wanted to present you yesterday, but.. your uncle only affords this much". Adira opens the gift, it was a simple pen. "Thanks for blessing Uncle". Joseph thought "Her parents had given her good sacrament".

She started making excuses while kneading her hands on her stomach "I am full Adira, I can't have". Adira thought, 21st-century kids, are way too smart. She needs to bribe her with mango "I am out of story Zuri. Can I narrate it tomorrow with Mango Shake". Zuri face lit up and she repeats "Mango shake". Adira nodded.

Zuri is close to Adira's heart. Adira found her abundant in the street. She thought it might be a kidnapping case. She reported to the police as well as published an advertisement for her, but no one came to look after her.

Adira replied, "I am going biking". Aditya said, "Stay close".

Adira enjoyed nature, birds were chirping, the pure breeze. It gives her a sense of calmness. Nearby four to five guys boozing saw Adira and approached her. She tried to avoid them, but they were bullying her.

A man held Adira's hand forcefully. She was about to kick him, but a hand came into view and punched that man. Adira saw who's that, and Ayden Lemaire's eye met her. Her heart skipped a beat. Ayden was mesmerized by her beauty, but he has idiots to teach the lesson.

He was beating all men to the pulp. Now, Adira is watching the show and enjoying the moment.

Adira was about to Thank Adyen, but she saw his attitude. He is smirking and his body language is singing I'm the only one to save you. She didn't like it, she was about to leave and took a turn.

Adira took her turn and left on her bike. She knew, who is he. She was muttering under her breath " khud ko kya samjhta hai, Bhagwan" ( What did he consider himself, God).

Ayden was bewildered; she is a beauty with courage. He never got treated, like this before. He thought "Who is she". Nevertheless, his heart whispered to him to follow her. He held his bike and start pedaling, but she is out of his sight. He has no time. His holidays are over and he is leaving today for New York.

Carlos gave a nice presentation to Lemaire. Vincent and Ayden were quite satisfied with the progress reports and results. Both have an eye for presentation slides that are quite impressive and being a businessman, they knew Carlos cannot prepare these slides. To prepare this type of slide you should have management knowledge. After the meeting, Vincent formally invited Carlos for Lunch.

Carlos is happy and relieved, for no cross-questioning. Heartily, He gave blessings to Adira, who provided him with a presentation in just 30 mins.

Lemaire chooses Royal Stay Hotel for lunch. They reached the hotel and entered the VIP section for their lunch with Carlos. Lemaire loved hotel architecture, hotel service, ambiance, and whatnot. It's full royal service. They are hoping the food is good as well.

They were seated and the waiter already reached them for service and greeted "Good Afternoon Sir". All placed their orders.

Lemaire and Carlos conversation...

Vincent started the conversation, "Mr. Carlos, how you doing'.

Vincent nodded with a smile and said "I am happy with the progress and hope we keep up our enthusiasm at the same level".

"We will do our best Mr. Lemaire" Carlos replied with positivity.

"By the way, I am impressed with your presentation, who prepared it."

Carlos honestly replied, "Presentation prepared by Miss Adira. She is talented and a great asset to the company".

Vincent chuckled "I agree Mr. Carlos, I can tell with presentation slides."

Ayden chipped in and, asked, "But she was not present in today's meeting".

"She is on leave Mr. Ayden. She will be back on coming Monday" Carlos replied.

Vincent with an appreciative gesture, said, "I would like to meet her".

Carlos answered "Sure Mr. Lemaire ".

Ayden was about to ask further questions meanwhile the waiter arrived with the order. Vincent said, "Let's enjoy lunch. Bon Appetite!". The food is very tasty and they are enjoying the food.

Ayden makes a mental note to inform Dylan to check on this hotel. Later, they had some talks about finance and projects growth.

After reaching the office, Ayden called his secretary and asked her to get the academic records and performance of Miss Adira. Going through Adira's academic records, he thought "She is very talented".

Here, it's already 4:00 PM, Ayden's mobile is ringing without looking at the caller id. He receives the call "Hello". In another line, Roman Carter, Ayden's best friend replied "Hey Ayd, You back to New York".

"How you have been and where are you?

Ayden understood and he didn't emphasize the topic and goes with the conversation flow "Wait, you two are together. Where is that idiot. Make sure, he joins us".

Ayden was curious, who is Khushi Randhawa. It's the first time they lost the real estate deal. He needs to dig down more. He made a call to his private detective "I am sending you the name and handful of details of a person. I want every detail on my table in three days". The man replied to him "Ok. Mr. Lemaire".
