"Seojun" is the name I received from my beloved parents.
If you were to ask me how much I loved them, well, if they told me to destroy the world, I would do it. Eradicating humanity has always been my principle because that's the purpose for which I was born into this world.
The sweet times with my parents are gone now. The two people I treasured so much, who gave me so much love, are now in my arms.
"Did you finally come back, son?" a woman's voice reached my ears.
The woman in my arms hugged me as if I were the most precious being in the world, protecting me against the people around her.
"LEE MINYE! GET AWAY FROM HIM!" a man's voice was heard, and my mother weakly turned around and smiled.
"I just want to be with my son for the last time. Can you please hear my plea?" a voice filled with sadness and resolution came from my mother, who looked up and gazed at my face.
"No matter what happens, you're still my own son, Seojun," she softly ruffled my hair.
Now, thinking about it, what was happening right now? I'm sure I was just at home, eating dinner with my mom and dad.
And... I don't remember what happened after that.
"Ugh, why?"
A cold-blooded voice was heard by the people around me.
It was a confused question.
*Sigh* "You're still clueless, no matter how many years have passed. You are still my son... You are my son, that's the only reason," my mother's weak voice replied.
Looking at her state, I saw myself in her blue aqua eyes. It reflected my face.
My eyes are red. I have two black horns, and my face is covered in black and red lines.
What is this?
"SEOJUN! If you are still him, free your mother!" a man wearing a black suit shouted, bringing me back to reality.
"I see... I remember it all now." The man in the black suit made me recall all the nightmare experiences I had been through.
"You bastards from the Hero Association... Haven't you gotten tired of bothering my life? First, you killed my father... Second, you abducted me... tortured me, and raised me like a human weapon... And now this?" My anger rose, and my heart throbbed just looking at my mother's state.
Judging by the situation, my mother had protected me from the Hero Association.
My body was different. My human form had turned into a demon. I had two black wings, and my head was adorned with various black and red lines.
But above all, there was only anger.
All I want now is to kill these bastards.
[That's right, kill them all.]
A devilish voice was heard in my head, tempting me to follow its orders.
Yeah... Let's kill them all.
But my mother suddenly looked at me, grabbed my head with both her hands, and said,
"Seojun... Don't be swayed by the words of that devil. This will be my last day anyway... That's why, just listen to me once."
[No, don't listen to that human. Are you just going to watch how your mother dies? Without seeking revenge on the people who harmed her?]
'That's right... however...'
While thinking, a man appeared behind me with a sword and stabbed me in the back... Or so I thought...
My mother used all her energy just to defend me from the enemy.
The sword pierced her, and blood dripped around it.
"It can't be happening..."
No!
I quickly grabbed the enemy's head and crushed it in my palm.
It felt like smashing a watermelon because of the amount of blood.
"With just one hand... he killed an A-rank hero..." a horrified voice from the side was heard.
I pulled out the sword from my mother's hand, leaving a large hole in her body.
"No, this can't be happening..."
My mother weakly raised her hand, wiped my tears, and smiled.
"Farewell, my son..."
"Noo!"
"Quick! NOW IS THE CHANCE! KILL HIM!"
I felt dozens of metallic objects pierce through my insides at the same time.
It was not painful. I didn't feel pain from being pierced by dozens of swords in my back. However, I felt a different pain.
It was the pain of losing my own mother. It was happening again. I had lost my father once... Now my mother...
"I... hate this world."
[That's right, if you destroy it, there will be no problems.]
Destroy, huh... It's not a bad idea... My beloved ones are now gone. What's the point of living? Yes... Let's destroy this world.
I raised one hand while looking atmy mother and focused on gathering demonic energy.
"This is bad! DON'T LET HIM FINISH IT!"
A group of humans tried to stop me. However, a shadow flew onto SeoJun's back and slashed all the humans attacking him.
Within seconds, all their necks were separated from their bodies.
"Your majesty," the shadow knelt before me.
"Igris, huh... I didn't know you were still by my side."
"I, Igris, will never leave you, my Majesty. My loyalty has been reserved solely for you since the moment I was born. However, is this your choice?"
"Yes, perhaps this is what I am fated to be...."
"If that's the case, I, Igris, will disappear with you. It has been an honor to serve you." The shadow stood up, placed his hands over his heart, and bowed to me.
"The honor is mine, Igris. Well, I have finished chanting my spell. It's been nice meeting you."
"The same goes for you, Majesty." The shadow knelt before me, and I turned my head towards the horrified people.
"Bringing me into this world was the worst decision you humans ever made. Now, begone."
The demonic energy grew larger and shot into the sky, and in a matter of seconds...
The whole world exploded into bits....
-End of Prologue
In space, the Earth exploded into pieces, floating around the galaxy. Torn fragments were scattered throughout space.
The Earth we're gone... humanity we're completely dissappeared..
At that moment, when all of humanity had perished, a white figure appeared in the place where the Earth used to exist.
"The Earth is gone now, huh?"
The unknown entity pondered, placing a hand on its chin, deep in thought...
"Oh... I should recreate it without allowing it to be destroyed. But the power I bestowed upon the human named Seojun was altered by humanity themselves. Though it saddens me, humanity always does whatever it takes to survive in the wild, even using their own kind... If I am going to recreate Earth, I need to restrain his power...
How about changing his personality? But even if I do... his evil nature will still exist within him... Well, he can figure things out, and this will be the last time I create Earth. I have already restarted many times because of Seojun... but... maybe Seojun's strength can overcome it...and also...he had shown such devotion to his parents. Maybe if there's danger ahead, he will eradicate it without a trace."
The unknown entity chuckled lightly, reflecting on how many times Seojun had destroyed the world. It seemed as if Seojun was born amidst the destruction of the Earth. The entity recalled the various paths Seojun had taken, always leading to the same outcome.
And then...
The entity placed its hand where the Earth used to be, and suddenly, its hand emitted a radiant glow, illuminating the darkest night as if with the brilliance of a thousand suns.
"Recreation!"
As the entity shouted, smiling as if looking elsewhere, it thought,
"Seojun, now you can live in peace."
With the brightest light, the white entity collided, and along with the flash of the recreated Earth, the unknown entity's appearance vanished.
~
Seojun woke up in the morning, feeling as if he had just emerged from a long dream. He couldn't believe it was a dream, but he had only one thought in his mind.
Seojun quickly got out of bed, leaving it in disarray, and rushed to the living room. There, he saw two people sitting on the sofa, watching TV. It was a man and a woman.
The man, in his mid-thirties, wore glasses and had natural blond hair and sky-blue eyes. If you disregarded his age, you might have mistaken him for a teenager due to his handsome appearance.
The woman, in her twenties, had brown hair and aqua eyes. Her demeanor was that of a gentle goddess who had descended upon Earth.
There was no mistake... They were his father and mother.
Tears welled up in Seojun's eyes as he struggled to accept the reality before him. They were already dead, and he still vividly remembered their final moments. Someone who should have died. Someone who had left this world in agonizing pain.
Seojun stood still, waiting for his parents to call out to him.
"Seojun?" Two voices echoed in the living room.
Upon hearing those words, Seojun didn't hesitate; he ran toward his parents and embraced them.
"Seojun? What's happening?"
A gentle woman's voice reached Seojun's ears, and he held them even tighter.
"It's not a dream..."
"What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare or something?"
His father asked, concern evident despite his usually cold demeanor. He was the kindest person in the world.
"A nightmare... perhaps.... "
Ignoring the memories trying to flood his mind, Seojun continued to nestle closer to his parents.
The only thought running through Seojun's mind was, "I'm really back..."
After hugging his parents for five minutes, he let go and asked,
"Mom, I'm hungry.."
As he smiled happily at his parents.
Ugk!
So cute!
His parents thought, captivated by the most precious smile they had ever seen on their son. For a moment, they were lost in the sheer adorableness of it.
This smile had to be protected at all costs!
They thought...
And Lee Min Ye responded to her son's request,
"What do you need, son? Do you want a thousand fried chickens right now? Yes, I'll order them immediately!"
His mother exclaimed loudly, already dialing a number on her phone.
"Honey, what are you talking about?"
Seojun's father interjected, adjusting his glasses and pushing them up slightly.
"We should buy the entire stock of fried chicken, no, the entire restaurant!"
His father exclaimed with enthusiasm.
Seojun giggled, recognizing that his parents looked exactly as he remembered them.
As he gazed at his parents, he thought,
"I will live a peaceful life with my parents. If anyone intends to harm them... they will die..."
Seojun pondered fora moment and looked at his shadow, muttering something.
"Igris."
A shadow behind Seojun began to rise and looked at him.
"My... Majesty... Did you call for me?"
Igris observed Seojun's childlike appearance and thought,
"To summon a shadow at such a young age... My Majesty truly inherits it."
"Igris... Do you remember? No... It may be hard to explain, but I'm back," Seojun said in their mental communication.
"Yes, my Majesty? What do you mean by that?" his shadow wriggled, as if tilting its head to the side.
"Well... I'll explain the details later... For now, I have to stop my parents from buying the entire restaurant around here.."
As Seojun observed his parents going crazy and talking on the phone, he thought,
Well, this isn't bad either...
-End of Chapter 1
Lee Min Ye and Jason Morton were a beautiful couple-a Korean woman and an American man. They found themselves at the hospital where Lee Min Ye was undergoing a check-up.
"Dear, is this really happening?" Min Ye's voice, filled with doubt and happiness, resonated in the room.
"Yes, honey, it is," the woman lying on the bed replied quietly to her husband.
"Oh my God... Am I really going to be a father?!" Jason's loud voice echoed outside, startling the nurses and doctors.
"I'm glad both of you are happy with the news, but please keep the noise down a little. It might startle the pregnant woman," a sternly dressed woman cautioned from the room.
"I apologize," Jason quickly said, realizing his outburst.
"I must say, you are both lucky to have a baby with such a strong mana capacity. There's a chance that someone with ill intentions might try to exploit your baby, so you must take good care of it," another woman's voice in the room changed the atmosphere. It wasn't a compliment; it was a warning for both of them.
"Yes, I will do that, Nara," Min Ye replied with a touch of sadness in her voice.
"Don't call me by my name. We're not that close," Nara replied with a mix of anger and hidden happiness.
"You haven't really changed, have you, Nara? You still can't be honest with yourself. At this rate, you'll never get married," Jason teased her.
"Tsk, shut your damn mouth before I rip it off," Nara clicked her tongue and turned her head away from Jason, her mana flowing outside.
Surprised by the immense amount of mana emanating from an S-Class Hero, Jason held his breath to prevent it from harming his wife. Nara had no intention of harming someone close to her; it was just Jason's comments that always annoyed her.
But it was true...
She truly hated not being honest with herself, but if she didn't hide her emotions, they might come back to haunt her someday.
"I'm going now," Nara left the room, quietly opening and closing the door.
Two people chuckled at her reaction, and Nara truly hoped she could become closer to him.
"Hey, dear, I will protect our baby at all costs, just as you will," Jason said to his wife, filled with determination.
"I will also protect you and our baby," she calmly smiled at her husband.
"So, have you come up with a name for him?" Jason asked.
"Seo... Jun," the woman murmured quietly, but her husband heard it clearly.
"Seojun... Oh, that name!" Jason exclaimed loudly, surprising those who heard them. It was a name they had learned from someone. But that story would be explained later on.
Five years later...
Lee Seojun was now four years old. He was an energetic child, and his parents adored him a lot.
Lee Min Ye looked at her son playing with his beloved hero figures.
As she chuckled, she thought, "Seojun is almost five years old... He's growing up so quickly compared to his peers. But that doesn't stop him from making friends at school. I hope this kind of life lasts forever."
Baam!
A loud bang on the door echoed outside their apartment. Lee Min Ye cautiously reached for a dagger in her inter-dimensional space and slowly approached the door.
As she peeked through the hole that allowed her to see outside, she saw her injured husband lying outside their apartment.
She quickly opened the door and was horrified by what she saw.
A group of men in black suits, led by a man in a gray suit, arrogantly looked at them.
"Who are you people?! What did you do to my husband?!" Lee Min Ye angrily exclaimed, raising her dagger and pointing it at the men who appeared to have harmed her husband.
"Well, we received information about a high-ranking baby born a few years ago who may be connected to an attack on the hospital where they were admitted," the man in the gray suit took a cigarette from his pocket and ignited it with his index finger, creating a small flame. He slowly inhaled.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about. We have no children," Lee Min Ye cautiously replied, her eyes shifting slightly toward where Seojun was playing.
"Ma'am, I can see in your eyes that you're lying. You're nervous, and you can't hide your killing intent towards me," the man observed.
"That's because you harmed my husband," Lee Min Ye replied, filled with hatred.
"Oh, that? He just got in our way, so we restrained him a little to calm him down," the man laughed arrogantly.
"You BASTARDS!" Lee Min Ye couldn't hold it anymore and quickly dashed towards the man in the suit, attempting to slash him with her dagger.
Ting!
A protective shield automatically appeared in front of the man, shielding him from the dagger.
Lee Min Ye realized she couldn't pierce through the barrier and quickly backed up, performing a backflip to return to her previous position.
"A high-rank artifact..." Lee Min Ye murmured quietly.
The fact that he used a high-rank artifact meant that this man was from the Hero Association, and a high-ranking one at that.
"We have no business with either of you, so don't get in our way. Kill them all," the man ordered his subordinates, and suddenly they all dashed towards Lee Min Ye and Jason, their fists coated with mana aimed at them.
Just as their fists were about to land, Jason got up and appeared in front of them, using his own hand, coated with mana, as a shield to intercept the attack.
A surge of mana from different sources tried to overpower Jason's mana, but he poured even more mana into the fight.
"Argh!"
As a result, the group of men in suits flew in different directions.
Jason was breathing heavily as he looked down. Of course, using so much mana from a drained body was dangerous. He had squeezed out all his mana to take the damage and reflect it back at his enemies, like a mirror.
"Dear, look in front!" Lee Min Ye shouted, but it was too late.
The gray man who had appeared before them punched through Jason's belly, his fist coated with Fire Mana Attribute.
"For a guy who's injured, you're not bad. But with a body like that, you're just a punching bag full of openings."
As the man pulled his hand out of Jason's belly, leaving a big hole and burning his organs, Lee Min Ye quickly got up and unleashed as much mana as she could, overwhelming the man.
"Ugh." The man flinched due to the sudden overwhelming mana. It felt as if the gravity had suddenly increased, bringing him down to the ground.
As Jason fell to the ground, Lee Min Ye dashed to catch him in her arms. As she held him, she looked at his state with great sadness.
His belly was pierced, leaving a large hole and burned flesh.
"Dear, please wake up!" Lee Min Ye tried to heal him, using as much mana as she could, but it was all in vain.
"Honey... It's useless to heal me. Use your mana to escape with our son... That's my last wish as your husband," Jason weakly said to his wife.
"No! I WON'T LEAVE YOU! We promised to be together, right? That's why I will take you along with our child!" Lee Min Ye said desperately, her heart filled with sadness.
She didn't want her husband to die. As she continued trying to heal him, Jason said something.
"Dear... If I die... protect our child at all costs... I love you." He raised his hand to wipe away Lee Min Ye's tears, and then... Jason closed his eyes, and his hand fell...
Jason Morton died.
