Chapter 1 PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE

Jihan's POV.

Lately, I always feel that there is something different about my husband. He often works out of town, usually only once a month and even then only for a few days. But now? Since four months ago, my husband has been on duty frequently, twice a month and for a relatively long time.

I try not to think bad thoughts. Maybe there are a lot of workers, to the point that my husband has to go back and forth out of town. The more I want to think positively, the more suspicious I feel. There's just something that makes me think negatively. For example, now it's been five days of work out of town. However, during that time they never contacted me once unless I initiate it.

What if something like that happened to you? Will you think negatively like me? Or is it the opposite? Or maybe I'm just overreacting? Who knows! What is clear is more and more.

One day, my friend and coworker sent a message. He said he saw my husband in a restaurant with a woman. Do I believe it? No, I don't believe it at all. Because obviously a few minutes ago my husband called and said he was on his way home.

I really trust my husband. Because in my eyes he is the best and most perfect of any man.

However, when I put all my trust in him. Even if someone says my husband is like this, so I don't believe it. Instantly, all that trust was destroyed in just a few seconds. When the person I call husband admits everything. Admits that he has a wife other than me.

My heart feels like it's broken out of shape. I was angry, disappointed and immediately slumped, I thought, what am I lacking? What do I not have that my husband is looking for from another woman? What?

In fact, I feel like I've devoted everything to him. And what's the reply? This is the reward for betrayal!

Chapter 2 Worry

Jihan had sent dozens of messages and miscalls, but her husband never responded to her calls or messages. There was worry in Jihan's heart, as it was unusual for Danu - her husband - to never give her news. If he was out of town, Danu would usually contact Jihan once an hour, but now? There had been no news for one day.

"My dear, where are you? Why don't you respond to my calls," worried Jihan as she continued trying to contact Danu.

Jihan did this continuously, and what started as replies turned into dozens of messages and miscalls. Tired, Jihan decided to contact Danu again later. Jihan works as a manager in a well-known company in Jakarta.

Despite her husband's wealth, Jihan wants to have a career utilizing the knowledge gained during college.

Jihan's mind was not concentrating; she was thinking too much about Danu, who never responded to her messages or calls. Bad thoughts came to mind; she wondered if Danu was having fun with other women or spending his money to pay a call girl.

Classic and baseless thinking. Jihan was thinking about something that was not necessarily true.

"Ah, I'll go crazy if this keeps up," Jihan complained in frustration. During the break, Jihan checked her cell phone again, hoping that someone would respond to her messages or calls. The result was the same; nothing. In the midst of her anxiety, Dewi suddenly arrived. Dewi is Jihan's subordinate who is closest to her.

For Dewi, Jihan is a perfect woman and a role model. She loves everything about Jihan.

"Mrs Jihan, let's go to the cafeteria!" Dewi invited Jihan, who was frustrated thinking about her husband.

Jihan smiled. There was no harm in following Dewi's invitation, she thought. Who knows, she might be able to forget all the thoughts about her husband.

"Alright, I'm hungry too. Your stomach keeps making noises."

"Come on, Mrs!"

Jihan got up, took her cell phone and a small wallet. All the way to the cafeteria, Dewi kept talking. She talked about her problems with her boyfriend and discussed her coworkers that she knew about.

"Mrs, do you know Amel?" asked Dewi when they had just arrived at the cafeteria and sat down in one of the empty seats.

"Amel Devisa Marketing?" guessed Jihan doubtfully.

Dewi snapped her fingers. "Exactly."

"There was a big news story about her," Dewi continued enthusiastically.

Jihan actually didn't want to respond to Dewi's words. But since Dewi was her most loyal subordinate and the one who adored her the most, she couldn't help but wanted to hear Dewi's story.Even though she doesn't want to.

"Wi, are we here to eat or to gossip?"

"Ih, Mrs Jihan this is not gossip, this is a REAL fact," said Dewi, emphasizing the word real.

"Wi, gossip is talking about people who are authentically true. If you talk about Talking about people without the truth is slander!"

"But Mrs, this news is really amazing."

"Hold on, let's order some food first. You'll need a lot of energy to tell Amel's story. You can order the usual, right?"

Jihan nodded. She was too lazy to talk much because her mind was back on her husband, Danu.

A few minutes later, Dewi arrived with a tray containing a portion of chicken noodles, a portion of vegetable salad and two orange juices. Dewi served her order as well as the one Jihan had ordered.

"Here, you eat first!" She handed Jihan a portion of the vegetable salad and she ate it immediately.

They ate in silence, because Jihan's life was very perfectionist and eating was regulated by not talking. And that's how good and right eating manners are.

Dewi hurriedly finished her chicken noodles. Her mouth was itching to tell the story of Amel the Marketing Division.Jihan, on the other hand, ate so casually and looked so elegant.

"Mrs, Dewi will tell you the story right away.Dewi is sure you'll be surprised to hear that."

"Wi, I thought you would have forgotten. It turns out you still remember it.You're like that, it's your turn to gossip about people with enthusiasm, even from beginning to end you remember and understand the story. Is it your turn to working?I can't answer, you must know the answer by yourself."

Dewi grinned."Sorry."

"Well, hurry up if you don't want to tell me.I still have a lot of work to do, Wi, " Jihan said after she finished another mouthful of vegetable salad.

"Listen carefully, Mrs .You know?"

"I don't know."

"Ish, this Mrs."

"Why, am I wrong? But I don't know anything."

"Yes, Dewi understands, Mrs. She means that she is...."

"What?"

"Just listen to my story, okay, Mrs!"

Dewi made a circle on her hand as an okay sign.

"Amel used to have a slim body, glowing face, exactly like your face. Now look, Amel's gotten a little fuller, and her face isn't as glowing after giving birth. I heard there's a problem in her household. You know what caused it?"

Jihan shook her head.

"Her husband cheated on her, the reason was because Amel was no longer attractive. That's crazy, no, ma'am. How could her husband cheat on her because of her looks? That's insolent man."

Jihan was silent as she digested word by word what Dewi had said. Hearing the word cheating made Jihan feel horrible. There was fear in Jihan's heart. What if her husband was like that? Leaving her when she was no longer attractive.

'It can't happen. I will do anything for Danu,' Jihan thought.

"Then, yes. Now Amel is in a deep depression. It's terrible."

"What?! Depression?"

"Yes, Amel is depressed. In fact, yes, Mrs, I think a relationship should be complementary, not about looking perfect in people's eyes. It doesn't make sense, how can you turn your husband away just because of your appearance? Yes, no, Mrs?"

Jihan was silent, Danu had never demanded anything in terms of appearance. However, she herself took the initiative to improve her body with treatments. Jihan's goal was to look beautiful in front of her husband so that he would continue to adore her. Not just a matter of appearance, for Danu's sake she is also willing to change herself to be feminine. Jihan used to be a tomboy.

A tap on Jihan's shoulder snapped her out of her reverie.

"Uh, Mrs, why are you staring?"

"No, I'm not," said Jihan, pretending to cover up the fact that she was scared, afraid that she would have the same fate as Amel.

"Now they're in the process of getting divorced. That's bad!

Deg...

'Divorce?'

Jihan shook her head trying to push away negative thoughts.

"Wi, already, let's talk about the person. Let's go to the room again, it looks like break time will be over soon."

Dewi glanced at her watch.

"You're right, Mrs. Alright, let's stop with the Amel story for now. If Dewi has any updated news, she'll tell me."

Jihan and Dewi returned to their room. With various fears on Jihan's mind after hearing the story about Amel

Chapter 3 Danu Goes Home

[Sorry, I just responded to your message. I was busy]

One message came into Jihan's number. Of all the messages and miscalls, only one was answered with a short message.

Jihan sighed, then tried to call Danu. Jihan wanted to ask how Danu was doing and when he would be home.

Tut...tut

The phone was connected but Danu never picked up. Finally, Jihan could only reply to Danu's incoming message.

[Where have you been, Dear? Why haven't you contacted me? When are you coming home?]

Jihan sent a series of questions to Danu's number. She hoped Danu would reply to her message right away, but he didn't. Jihan threw her cell phone on the bed, feeling annoyed at Danu's attitude.

Jihan got up; she wanted to see her children before she went to bed. First, she went into Raisa's room, stroked her hair, and gave her a goodnight kiss. Then Jihan went to Rafli's room and did the same thing she did to Raisa.

The sound of an incoming message was heard. Jihan immediately grabbed her cell phone and opened the incoming message. Tomorrow, you're coming home. What would you like me to buy you? A big smile spread across Jihan's lips.

She was happy that Danu was coming home tomorrow. She would get ready to welcome Danu. Jihan wanted to look perfect in Danu's eyes, perfect in every way. Are you really coming home tomorrow? I don't want anything, just as soon as you come home.

Two messages had been sent. Jihan was smiling to herself, while continuing to wait for Danu's long reply. Another message came in:

"You'll be home soon. There's a bad signal here, so I can't keep in touch with you, sorry." Jihan replied to Danu's incoming message again

"Yes, Dear I'm waiting for your return." The overwhelming sense of joy brought back her mood, and it looked like she would sleep well tonight.

***

As morning approached, it had become Jihan's routine every morning to work in the kitchen to prepare a healthy breakfast for her two children.

After finishing, Jihan would take a shower and then wake up her children. Raisa, her eldest child, can already wake up and bathe on her own. So, her only job is to bathe and feed Rafli, her youngest child. Now Jihan and her two children were at the dining table, enjoying the breakfast that Jihan had lovingly made.

"Mother's children, eat a lot so that they will be healthy and strong," said Jihan as she raised her hands and showed her arm muscles.

"Raisa will definitely eat a lot because Moms cooking is delicious," Raisa praised her mother.

"Ah, I'm so touched to be praised by your most beautiful daughter," Jihan stroked Raisa's cheek.

"Oh, yes, Mom, tomorrow Raisa wants to join the competition, you know."

"Oh, yes! What competition, dear?" asked Jihan enthusiastically when she heard that her daughter would be participating in a competition.

"Painting competition, Bun. If I win, I'll compete at the national level," Raisa replied enthusiastically.

"Wow, your child should win. Mom didn't send Raisa to painting lessons. So don't let her down."

"Yes, Mother. Raisa will definitely win."

Since kindergarten, Raisa has had a talent for painting. Therefore, Jihan enrolled Raisa in painting lessons. In addition, the main reason she put Raisa in lessons was so that the perfection of being a mother would be higher if she had an outstanding child.

Perfection seems to be Jihan's life motto. She will get angry or blame herself when something that should go perfectly fails. In the middle of her chat with her daughter, Mona came in and said her greetings.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Mrs , children."

"Waalaikumsalam," Jihan Raisa replied simultaneously as she turned to Mona who had just arrived.

"Sorry Mrs, I'm a little late," Mona regretted and apologized.

Jihan lookingl at the clock on her left hand.

"Only twenty minutes late is no problem. Alright, dear Raisa, let's go!"

Jihan got up and handed Mona the bowl that contained Rafli's breakfast. Mona grabbed the bowl and immediately sat down on the chair Jihan had been sitting on.

"Mon, have you had breakfast yet? If you haven't had breakfast yet, don't get sick," said Jihan. Mona smiled. '

"Thank you, mrs. I've already had breakfast,' Mona politely declined. 'Good then.'

***

"I'm going home today," said a man to the woman on his lap.

"Lo, Dear. How come, so soon? It's only been three days," a woman complained.

"Jihan has been calling me all the time. I don't want her to get suspicious."

The woman on the man's lap stood up, preferring to stay away from him.

"Why don't you just divorce Jihan, Dear. Instead of hiding our relationship. I also want to be like my friends, going on vacation with their husbands and children. I don't want to be like that."

The man who was with a woman was Danu and the woman was his second wife whom he had married in secret, her name was Firna.

Danu moved and approached Firna who was sulking. He hugged her from behind, resting his head in the crook of her neck.

"Why should I divorce her? Having two wives is so much fun," Danu said, chuckling softly.

Hearing Danu's statement, Firna immediately dismissed Danu's head that was resting in the hollow of her neck. Then she turned her body to the bed and sat on it.

"You're good! And me? I feel like I'm your mistress, Dear. Even though I'm clearly your legal wife!"

Danu smiled, happy that Firna was jealous, which meant that his second wife was deeply in love with him. Danu approached the sulking Firna. Danu knelt down in front of her, took Firna's hand and clasped it tightly.

"Patience, yes, later when it's time I'll tell Jihan about our real relationship," Danu tried to melt Firna's heart hoping she would understand his situation. Having two wives and one wife that he kept secret made Danu have to be fair.

Firna melted, she loved Danu very much from then until now. She chose to be patient for the common good.

"Alright, Dear I'm the same woman as Jihan. If our marriage is told at an inappropriate time, it will certainly hurt Jihan. In order to protect the feelings of fellow women and realize that I am only the second wife, I am trying to be patient," Firna explained with confidence in her decision.

Danu smiled happily, then brought Firna's body into his arms. He gave her a loving peck on the top of her head. Meanwhile, Firna closed her eyes, feeling Danu's long and gentle kiss reassuring her soul. She felt that she was deeply loved
