Chapter 1 Bara nodded and took Adi away

Elina never imagined that her life would change so drastically. Since the first day of graduate school, he has faced many challenges. However, nothing is more challenging than facing Bara, the cold and stubborn examiner.

That day, Elina was sitting in the library, immersed in reference books for her thesis. When he was seriously reading, a familiar voice made him raise his head.

"Elina, are you here?" the voice came from Bara.

Elina looked up and saw Bara standing in front of her with a flat expression. He tried to hide his anxiety and stood respectfully.

"Yes, Prof. How can I help you?" he asked politely.

Bara stared at him for a moment before speaking. "I want to discuss your thesis revision. Can you come to my room now?"

"Okay, Prof. I'll be there soon," answered Elina as she packed up her books.

Along the way to Bara's room, Elina's heart was pounding. She never felt comfortable around Bara. The young professor always had an intimidating and cold aura. When he arrived at the door, he took a deep breath before knocking.

"Come in," came a voice from inside.

Elina opened the door and entered the spacious room. Bara sat behind his desk, staring at the laptop screen. Without raising his gaze, he invited Elina to sit down.

"Please sit down," he said simply.

Elina sat nervously, waiting for Bara to start speaking. After a few seconds that felt like an eternity, Bara finally spoke.

"Elina, your revision is quite good. But there are still several things that need to be corrected," said Bara as he handed Elina a thesis document which was full of notes and scribbles.

"Okay, Prof. I will fix it immediately," answered Elina in a low voice.

Bara looked at Elina sharply. "I hope you can be more thorough. We don't have much time."

Elina could only nod. He knew Bara always demanded the best, but sometimes the demands felt too much to bear.

After the meeting, Elina felt tired and frustrated. He decided to take a walk in the campus park to relieve stress. In the park, he saw a small child playing alone near the swing. The child looked cheerful, but there was something in his eyes that made Elina feel pity.

Elina approached the child carefully. "Hi, you alone?" he asked softly.

The boy nodded. "Yes, Auntie. Papa is busy at campus."

"What's your name?" Elina asked with a smile.

"My name is Adi. Who are you?"

"I'm Elina. Nice to meet you, Adi," answered Elina.

Adi smiled broadly. "Nice to meet you too, Aunt Elina."

Elina felt that there was something special about this child. They talked for a few minutes, and Elina felt comfortable around Adi. When time was almost up, a man came over to them. That man is Bara.

"Adi, let's go home," said Bara in a soft tone that Elina rarely heard.

"Papa, this is Aunt Elina. She's very kind," said Adi, pointing to Elina.

Bara looked at Elina with a different look. "Thank you for accompanying Adi," he said in a softer tone than usual.

"You're welcome, Prof. Adi is a very pleasant child," answered Elina with a smile.

Bara nodded and took Adi away. After they left, Elina sat on a park bench and pondered. Meeting Adi made him see a different side of Bara. Maybe behind his cold and hard attitude, there is a man who is caring and full of affection.

Day after day passed, and Elina met Adi more and more often in the park. Every time she saw Adi, her heart felt warm. He begins to feel an emotional connection with the child. These small meetings give Elina the strength to face the challenges in her stressful marriage.

One evening, Elina was sitting in the living room, contemplating about her life which was full of uncertainty. Suddenly, Bara came into the room with a serious face.

"Elina, there is something we need to discuss," he said.

Elina looked at Bara worriedly. "What is that, Prof?"

Bara sat next to Elina, trying to find the right words. "I know our marriage is not something you want. But we have to carry it out according to the contract."

Elina could only nod. He knew the situation wasn't easy for anyone. However, in his heart, he hoped that one day Bara would see him in a different way.

As time goes by, Elina gets closer to Adi. Adi's presence brings joy in the midst of a stressful life. Bara began to see changes in Elina.

"Why are you so nice to Adi?" asked Bara one day.

"Because he's a good child. He doesn't deserve to feel alone," answered Elina sincerely.

Bara was silent. For the first time, he felt something was different in his heart.

How will the story continue between Elina and Bara? Will this contract marriage turn into true love, or will they remain trapped in a cold and stressful bond? Only time can answer that.

Chapter 2 In her heart

Elina is getting used to her new routine. Apart from completing his thesis revision, he also often spent time with Adi. His relationship with the child made him feel more important and gave him enthusiasm to face the challenges that came. However, every time Bara saw their closeness, his expression was always difficult to predict.

One day, Elina decided to take Adi for a walk to the park. They enjoyed the sunny day by joking and playing. Adi looks very happy, and Elina feels happy to be able to make the child smile.

"Aunt Elina, when can we play again?" Adi asked with sparkling eyes.

"Whenever you want, Adi. You just have to tell Papa," answered Elina while stroking Adi's head gently.

While they were busy talking, Bara came over. He looked at Elina with a look that was difficult to interpret.

"Elina, can we talk for a moment?" Bara said in a serious tone.

Elina nodded and asked Adi to wait a moment. He followed Bara to a quieter place, and the atmosphere between them felt tense.

"Why are you with Adi so often?" asked Bara without further ado.

Elina was surprised to hear the question. "Adi is a good boy, Prof. I just want to make him happy."

Bara was silent for a moment before continuing. "I understand. But remember, this is all temporary. Don't get too attached."

Elina felt hurt hearing those words. He knew Bara didn't open his heart easily, but he didn't expect to get a response like that.

"Okay, Prof. I understand," answered Elina in a low voice.

Even though Elina's heart ached, she tried to remain professional. He knows his relationship with Bara will never be easy, but he hopes to change Bara's views one day.

A few days later, Elina met Adi again in the park. They played and laughed together, trying to forget the tension. However, this time Bara looked different. He looked at Elina and Adi with a softer look.

"Papa, come and play with us!" Adi exclaimed enthusiastically.

Bara looked hesitant for a moment, but finally he agreed and joined them. For the first time, Elina saw a smile on Bara's face. They played together all afternoon, and for a moment, they felt like a complete family.

After that day, relations between them began to thaw a little. Bara became more open, even though there were still high walls around his heart. Elina continues to try to show kindness and sincerity, hoping to dissolve the walls.

One night, while Elina was sitting in the living room, Bara came over to her.

"Elina, I want to talk about something," Bara said in a soft voice.

Elina looked at Bara attentively. "What is that, Prof?"

Bara was silent for a moment before continuing. "I know our relationship is not easy. But I want to thank you for making Adi happy. He really loves you."

Elina smiled, feeling warm hearing those words. "Adi is an extraordinary child, Prof. I am happy to be a part of his life."

Bara nodded and smiled faintly. "Thank you, Elina. I know this is not easy for you."

That night, Elina felt a little hope. Maybe, slowly but surely, he could change Bara's views and make him see that love could grow between them. However, their journey is still long and full of challenges.

In her heart, Elina promised not to give up. She will keep trying, for Adi's sake and for the love that she believes can grow between them.

In the following days, Elina and Bara continued their routine. Although there is still a lot of tension, there are also small moments where they can smile and laugh together. Elina's closeness to Adi becomes stronger, and Bara begins to see Elina in a different way.

One thing is certain, their lives will no longer be the same. Meeting Adi has changed everything, and they all have to learn to face this change with an open heart. Will this contract marriage turn into something more meaningful? Only time can answer that.

Chapter 3 Elina felt her heart pound

The days continued to pass, and Elina began to feel changes in their relationship. Bara, which was previously cold and hard, slowly began to show a softer side. Elina knew that this change was largely due to Adi's influence. However, he also hoped that there would be a little influence from him.

One morning, when Elina was preparing breakfast in the kitchen, Bara suddenly appeared. Elina was surprised to see him, because usually Bara rarely appeared in the kitchen.

"Morning, Prof. How can I help you?" Elina asked kindly.

Bara just nodded. "Good morning. I just wanted to talk a little."

Elina raised an eyebrow, curious. "Sure, about what?"

Bara took a chair and sat at the kitchen table. "I want to thank you for taking such good care of Adi. He always tells you how much fun he enjoys playing with you."

Elina smiled warmly. "Adi is an extraordinary child, Prof. I am happy to be a part of his life."

Bara was silent for a moment, seeming to be thinking hard before finally speaking again. "I know, our relationship is not easy. But I hope we can try to be better, for Adi's sake."

Elina felt her heart pound at those words. Could this be the start of a bigger change?

"Of course, Prof. I also want us to be better. Not just for Adi's sake, but for our sake too," answered Elina hopefully.

Bara nodded slowly, looking serious. "I will try, Elina. I hope you will try too."

"I will, Prof. We will try together," answered Elina with a smile.

That day became a turning point in their relationship. Even though there are still many challenges to face, Elina feels more optimistic. He began to see another side of Bara, a side that was full of affection and care, even though it was still hidden behind walls of distrust and fear.

That night, when Adi was asleep, Elina and Bara sat together in the living room. They talk about many things, from work to their personal lives. Elina felt this was the most honest and open conversation they had ever had.

"Bara, may I ask something?" Elina said suddenly.

Bara looked at him with caring eyes. "Sure, just ask."

"Why are you so cold and hard? What makes you like this?" Elina asked carefully.

Bara was silent, seemingly struggling with his thoughts. Finally, he took a deep breath and began to tell the story.

"My life has not always been easy, Elina. I lost my parents when I was young, and since then I have had to fight alone. I learned not to show weakness, because this world is not always friendly," said Bara in a low voice.

Elina felt pain in Bara's voice. "I understand, Bara. Life isn't always fair. But you're not alone now. There's me and Adi."

Bara looked at Elina with softer eyes. "Thank you, Elina. I will try to be more open. I know, it's not easy, but I will try."

Elina smiled, feeling there was hope behind those words. "I will try too, Bara. We will get through this together."

As time goes by, the relationship between Elina and Bara gets better. Bara started smiling and laughing more often, especially when he was with Adi. Elina felt a warmth slowly growing between them.

One day, when they were having dinner together, Adi suddenly said, "Papa, Aunt Elina, I'm glad we can eat together like this. It feels like a complete family."

Bara and Elina looked at each other, feeling that there was something special in Adi's words. They realized that they were not just living a contract marriage, but were also starting to build something more meaningful.

That night, after Adi slept, Bara approached Elina. "Elina, I want to say something."

Elina looked at Bara attentively. "What is that, Bara?"

Bara took a deep breath before speaking. "I know this isn't easy for both of us. But I feel something has changed within me. I'm starting to see you not just as a contract wife, but as someone who means something in my life."

Elina felt her heart pound. "I also feel the same way, Bara. I want us to be more than just a contract marriage. I want us to be a real family."

Bara nodded, feeling relief in his heart. "I want that too, Elina. We will try together, for Adi's sake and for our sake."

That night, Elina felt there was new hope in their relationship. Even though there are still many challenges to face, he is confident that with love and patience, they can get through it all.

In the following days, Elina and Bara continued to try to build their relationship. They talked more often, sharing stories and dreams with each other. Their closeness to Adi also grew stronger, making them feel like a complete family.

However, they realize that they still have a long way to go. There are many things that must be faced and corrected. But, with love and commitment, they are sure they can get through it all. And in the end, they hope to find true happiness in a marriage that was only a contract.

Can the love that grows between them survive all the tests? Only time can answer that. But one thing is certain, Elina and Bara will continue to try, for the love and happiness they believe they can achieve together.
