"I don't love you... I never have... And, I never will..." I stated firmly. Vicenzo smiled ruefully, licked his lips, and stared straight into my eyes. Then he uttered the coldest words I've ever heard: "What you feel for me is irrelevant... I've never asked for your love. And you always seem to forget that what we have here..." he paused, gesturing his fingers between the two of us. "Is just a peace treaty, nothing more, nothing less!! And yes, we will come out of this alive. And when we do, I will find out who betrayed me! And I'll make them wish for death." ******************************************************************* The Clayton and Griffo families are the two top crime organizations in Philadelphia. In order to coexist peacefully, a peace treaty was signed years ago between the two organizations. But everything goes to shambles when Tomas Griffo, head of the Griffo family was assassinated. Tension rose sporadically, and Harold Clayton, the boss of the rivals, became the primary suspect. To prove his innocence in the matter and to ensure peace, Harold offered a daughter of his, Anastasia to Vicenzo, the new head of the Griffo clan, as a wife in an arranged marriage scheme. However, things take a strange turn when Harold himself is killed. What happens when Harold's sons decide to change the terms of the arranged marriage without Vicenzo's knowledge? Will peace and love reign among the organizations, or will an all-out war break out? Read on to find out.

Chapter 1 Harder

THIRD PERSON P.O.V

"Harder! Harder!! Please go harder!!!"

The clapping sound of flesh on flesh could be heard accompanying the aforementioned screams of pleasure which were coming from Rain's bedroom.

Rain Clayton was one of the many illegitimate children that Harold Clayton had fathered while he was alive, and she, like all of the late Don's bastards, had been well taken care of with a weekly and unfailing allowance of $8,000 into her bank account, a scholarship that ran until whenever she decided to stop schooling. So, basically, being his child, legitimate or not, meant that her life had been sorted long ago. But that doesn't mean that Rain had the best life as it's often said, there's so much more in life that money can't buy.

"Right there!! That's the spot, Hmm.." she moaned.

Rain's mother died in a car accident when she was 18 and she has been alone since then, she was under the impression that the weekly allowance she got and the pre-paid school bills were from a trust fund her mother had arranged for her. Before her uncanny demise.

Although she could literally buy anything she wanted, which she did, owning multiple designers, and two cars at just 24 years old and treating herself to vacations whenever she felt like it, she still felt very empty inside, because, regardless of how impressive her bank account was, she was unable to lay a finger on happiness and her love life was, well.... non-existent.

Everyone knew of how she was financially, and because of that, the guys who dated her had always viewed her as a free paycheck. They always wanted to use her to line their pockets, and so, she had given up on dating and love in general.

Instead, whenever she needed a release, she would pay guys now and then to come satisfy her. Much like the man who was currently with her.

She was, at this time, bent over her reading table which had a mirror on the wall by it, and so, as her insides were getting pounded by the organ of the hot, white hunk who was standing behind and drilling her, she could only view the action from a third person perspective through the mirror.

"Ohh God!!!!"

She screamed a few moments later, as she arrived at the peak of the sexual activity. This yelp was followed by uncontrollable, spasmodic vibrations in her body, and for a moment, it looked as though she was having a convulsion: She went pink, the blacks of her eyes disappeared, leaving only the eerie whites, and all her veins were super visible and looking as though they would pop out of her skin, and her mouth was wide open, like a fish fresh out of water and struggling to survive.

"Your payment is on the table, take it as you leave", she said weakly to the man as he got dressed and prepared to leave. She was now sitting on her bed, stark naked, her red hair looking ragged and disheveled, and she, as drained as drained could be.

"Okay, thanks.." He acknowledged without even looking at her, more intent on getting his clothes on, his pay in his pocket, and his feet out of there. He was twisted into a very tight position while trying to lace up his shoes, and it surprised her how he didn't even look fatigued or spent. He probably did this a lot. As Rain watched him, she began to get some crazy ideas in her head, and although she knew that what she was about to say was hardly sensible, she couldn't help herself.

"Could we...you know meet sometime?" Rain suggested quietly, as though there was someone else in the room she didn't want to hear it.

The golden-haired, well-built man looked up from his sneakers which he was trying to put on, and said with a slightly confused look on his face, "Yeah... " he said and a smile lit up on her face.

"If you're ever in need of my services again, you can always ring me.." he added and her smile fell.

She swallowed hard. That wasn't what she meant. "No, no... I meant, like.. Maybe, could we meet sometime, like, have coffee or dinner somewhere?"

Kim had never found a man who'd liked her for her or anyone who sincerely wanted to be friends with her; it had always been because of her voluptuous body or of course, her money. She hoped this one would be willing to see past all that.

But, the man, upon realizing what she meant, began to laugh softly. Then, after putting his shoes on, he stood upright and said, rather coldly, "Sorry... You're hot but you're not my type", and then, he added, " I think you might wanna bolt your door after I leave.."

Then, he walked out of the room.

With tears nearly dropping from her eyes, Kim followed him to the living room. He didn't so much as turn to her or give her a second thought. He simply grabbed his cheque, walked to the door, opened it, and left. As though he'd not just been inside her some minutes ago, as though he'd not just guided her to climax, as though he didn't know her.

After she had seen him out and locked the door, she made to return to her room, but just crumbled and broke down on a couch, crying. When would she find someone who would want to be with her, not for her body or the money, but for her bubbly and nice personality? When would she find the guy who would stay without prioritizing getting paid or laid? Was there even such a man for her? Why was she the top choice when she was willing to spend or spread her legs, but suddenly nobody's type as soon as she requested real, authentic love or friendship? Was it that there was no more love in the world?

She lay face down and distressed on her couch, shaking with a frenzy and crying hot, bitter tears.

Then, there was a knock at the door. Thinking it was the man who'd had a change of heart and had now come back, Kim raced to the door, still stark naked, her big breasts flying around in no particular pattern and her butt cheeks rebounding from the ripple effect.

"You came ba-" She started to say, with a smile on her face, but once again, her smile fell. It was definitely not him. There were four, huge men dressed in black and wearing masks at her door.

As soon as her brain comprehended what she was seeing, she tried to scream, but one of the men reached for her with one of his strong, rangy hands, and covered her mouth, muffling her screams. From that point, everything happened so fast. Her arm was grabbed, and with it, she was pulled out of the house. Then, she was lifted onto the shoulders of one of the men and hurriedly taken to a car that was parked opposite her apartment. All this time, the strong, firm hand was still covering her mouth and frustrating her attempted screams. When they got to the car, the trunk popped open, and she was flung into it. From that point, she saw nothing but darkness.

Not until she was in that trunk did it set into her brain what had just happened: She'd been kidnapped. The realization that she might not be free again until whenever her captor, whoever it was, decided to set her free, if he/she did, caused her heart to sink, taking away her ability to scream. All she found herself able to do was whimper.

Just when it seemed her life couldn't get any worse, she had been plunged into a whole new dimension of the word 'trouble'.

Chapter 2 The Long Lost Dead Father

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Rain had now been freed from her bonds, taken out of the dark, cold room where she had been kept. Serge, eager to please Randy, quickly whipped up a cup of hot coffee and handed it to Rain, whose trembling hands struggled to hold it steady.

'What have I gotten myself into?' she kept thinking to herself. Randy, who was the scarier looking of the twins, had been standing opposite her silently for about five minutes, sizing her up which only worsened her fear.

"Now, Rain, I need you to pay close attention to the things I'm about to say because I am not a man who enjoys repeating himself."

Rain sat, her coffee still steaming. she was scared nearly to death with the many men before her and wished she wasn't about to be auctioned or something. If they wanted a ransom, perhaps she would be able to leave this place. How they had even known her name was still intriguing to her because she had a good memory, and she was aware that she hadn't seen any of them anywhere before. So, who were they?

"Allow me to introduce myself," Randy continued, "My name is Randy Clayton... The man who looks like me behind me is my brother, Roberto. The other men are not important to you; they simply did a job."

"And we, Rain... Are your stepbrothers," Randy declared.

At the sound of the word 'step brothers', Rain's head did a full reset to default. Goosebumps arose quickly all over her body, and her incomprehension of what had just been said was evident with the look of shock on her face. She wanted to scream, 'What?' But was too afraid to do so. She had to hope that his explanation, if he gave one, would make sense.

"Our father, Harold Clayton is dead..." Randy declared, watching for her reaction.

'Our father?' she thought to herself. 'What the hell is this man talking about? How is he my step brother? And, who the hell is Harold Clayton, was he supposed to matter to me? Was this a case of mistaken identity? Yes, that should be it. They've definitely gotten the wrong person. But how do I tell them that?' She thought, desperately trying to believe that she would eventually be let go.

You've got this Rain! She gave herself a mental boost as she raised her trembling hand in question.

"Do you have something to say, Rain?" Randy asked, as he had been waiting for her response.

"Um... yes, sir. No offense, but I don't know what's going on here, but I-I think your men got the wrong girl. I d-don't know any Harold Clayton. My name is Rain, Rain Coxson and my father died when I was a baby. So please, if you could just let me go, I promise to run and never look back. Please." she pleaded, shaking with fear.

As Bobby heard the pleas of his newfound step-sister, he couldn't help but wonder,

'Is all of this really worth it, Randy must have finally lost it'

Randy smiled at this, knowing all too well what was going on.

"Humor me, Rain Coxson," he slurred. "Your mother told you this, did she not?" He asked.

"Y-Yes. Yes, she did," Rain replied, stuttering.

"Of course, she did," Randy mocked,

"Did she also tell you about all the money you've been getting every week?"

"Yes she did, it's a trust fund that she left me to take care of me after her death. It's been coming through a company she used to own before she died." Rain said confidently. Little did she know that to the people in front of her, she sounded like an adult who still believed that Santa came on Christmas Eve to drop presents.

Randy broke out laughing. The incredulity of the statements he was hearing was making him hysterical. After some seconds of the first genuine laughter he'd had in a while, he composed himself and dished out the cold hard truth to Rain.

"Well, sweetie, I hate to break it to you, but your mother was lying. She had no company or trust fund. And Let me guess, she also told you, that you have no relatives?" He asked, and Rain nodded in agreement.

"Well, it is my pleasure to burst that big bubble of yours and tell you that it's all been a lie.." Randy said, inconsiderately.

Bobby, standing behind him, wondered why on earth Randy always had to be so sinister.

Rain, however, was shaken to her core. Her mother, who'd died when she was 18, had told her that her father had died in a motor accident, that she had no family because they were Australian immigrants in the United States, and the weekly deposits she'd be getting would come from her trust fund. How this man, whom she had never met, knew these things she'd never told a single soul of were alarming to her.

"I will tell you the truth of the matter. My father was a man who liked to have anything in skirts. Your mother was one out of many of these whores."

"My mother wasn't a whore." Rain replied bitterly, unwilling to let this man insult her late mother, whose memory she still treasured dearly.

"Would you look at that.. It speaks." Randy mocked with utter disrespect, surprised but also amused that Rain had gathered the audacity to talk back, before continuing, "well, I hate to break it to you, but she was my father's baby mama. And you were that baby. They met on one of his numerous extramarital escapades, and she gave birth to you. Thus qualifying her like, many others before her, for weekly allowances and benefits which you have now come to enjoy. I know she lied so you won't see her as a whore, but that is exactly what she was, a gold digging slut."

The sternness on Randy's face shut down every further protest from Rain.

"You see, our father took the 'be fruitful and multiply' mandate very personally, and he also had enough money to take care of as many children as he wanted. And this is how you came into the world."

Rain was hit by Randy's revelation. Was he lying? He couldn't be. He'd known her name and everything about her even before she told him. It was difficult for her to accept this truth in her heart, but her head knew that there was no coincidence: this man, who was supposedly her stepbrother, was, in fact, telling the truth.

Randy continued, "you've given absolutely NOTHING back to my father or the family. But, that's all about to change," Randy stated, a wicked smile forming on his face.

Rain shuddered. Why was he suddenly smiling? Was this about the job he claimed to have for her? She thought as tears began to stream down her cheeks,

"You see... our father, Who was also your father and the man who made your life easy Is dead. He was killed a week ago. Shot dead on the highway." Randy said.

Rain shuddered again. Dead? So now, she was basically an orphan? And the relatives she was left with were men like this one before her? She instantly began to wish for death, too.

"And, we know who killed him." Randy said.

Chapter 3 A Plan of Deception

Bobby, at this point, was standing at the door, he screamed, "No, Randy, we don't. You merely think we do." "Verdammt, Roberto, we've talked about this enough, alright?" Randy boomed impatiently. Bobby, not wanting an argument, raised his hands as though to say 'have it your way' and then proceeded to take a seat. "My brother is..." Randy paused as he searched for a better word to describe Bobby then continued as he couldn't be too bothered, "He's a different breed. You should pay him no mind. We do know who killed our father. His name is Vincenzo Griffo.

He is an Italian, and his family runs the biggest drug organization in the city. Our organization is just as big, but they have a slight edge. Now, before our father died, this Vincenzo man was betrothed to marry our sister, Anastasia. They were betrothed because his father, their former don, was killed five months ago, and a huge uprising was brewing. So our father, in a pathetic attempt to make peace, used our sister, Anastasia, as a bargaining chip." Rain nodded, getting a good understanding of what was being said to her, even though she felt completely lost and heartbroken to find out that her mother had lied to her all her life. Her fast mind thought it was better to first know what was asked of her, do it, and get the hell out of there, before she took the chance to mourn and be angry about her mother's lies and secrets. "But now, Vincenzo has gotten his misplaced revenge on us. We didn't kill his father, but he has killed ours and we will not let this slide. Never!" Randy boomed once again. His voice, laced with ill-concealed malice, made him sound like a savage. He was envisioning how he would get his revenge and pull the trigger. Rain slowly raised her hand. "Do you have something else to ask?" Randy asked. "Um. Yes... yes sir." She replied politely. "Oh, please, call me Randy. We are siblings after all." Randy said, feigning niceness. "Okay, um. Mr Randy. Please don't be mad but, how do you know it was this Vincenzo man who killed your father?" Rain proceeded to ask. "Because his organization's fingerprints were all over the job! He and his organization kill people with silver bullets. One bullet costs about a thousand dollars. The chances that someone shot with silver bullets will live are next to zero, and this is why they use it. They're the only ones who use this, so it could have only been them. Do you understand?" Randy explained the basic knowledge to Rain, already getting impatient and annoyed by her questioning. "Yes, sir. I mean, Mr Randy." Rain replied, quickly bending her head, and staring at her half-cold coffee. "Good. And so, since we know he killed our father, I can't have my dear sister married to the man who murdered our father, now can I?" Randy paused, "So, here's the plan; You, my dear Rain, will be given to him as a wife." Randy declared. With this declaration, Rain was agape. This man who was apparently so dangerous, was who she was going to be married off to? Randy continued, though, "But there is a catch. Since you are family and we Clayton's look out for family, " he said, earning a scoff from Bobby. Randy gave Bobby a death glare before focusing his attention back on a freaked out Rain "It's not a forever deal... you'll marry him and show no signs of displeasure. You'll be a good wife to him, make him food, obey his orders, and you know, wifely duties. And in all of this, you'll remain in contact with us, giving us information about anything and everything about Vincenzo's movements and following our instructions accordingly as they are dished out to you. And then, after three or even four months, we'll tell you exactly how to sell him out to us. When you do, we will kill him and get our revenge. Then, and only then, will you be free to go back to your life. Back to your monthly trust fund, never to be worried again." Rain was already feeling terrible. 'Why me?' she thought. "But, sir... Mr Randy. Your sister is already betrothed to him, so why can't she do it-" she started to say, sounding slightly hysterical as the realization and reasoning behind her half brothers suddenly showing up and abducting her dawned on her. Randy cut her off, "Because she is a legitimate and useful child! This mission is dangerous. She's liable to get killed while doing it. She has already gone through enough, getting betrothed to that wretched Italians then watching her father die right before her eyes. I will never let her get caught up in any of this crossfire. But you? You're nothing but a privileged bastard who's been given everything all your life for merely being the product of an unfaithful marriage. You're pathetic." Tears began to run down Rain's eyes as she realized. 'So, I'm the DISPOSABLE one?' Bobby, now seated, had so many protests in his mind but knew that Randy would only shout him down if he uttered them, so he said nothing. He felt for Rain, but there was nothing he could do. Serge and the other men didn't care about all that was going on; they were simply doing a job for which they'd be paid, and so all this drama wasn't their problem. "You will do as I've said, and no more," Randy added. "B-But... I have a life. This isn't fair." Rain said, amidst warm tears, streaming down her face. "Fair?" Randy barked, "What's not fair is you getting weekly deposits of thousands of dollars you didn't work for! What's not fair is us bleeding out and doing the dirty business while you reap from it, unscathed! What's not fair is how you plan to strut through life on our father's money but remain unwilling to make even a small sacrifice for him!" Rain was whimpering, now. Randy had been screaming at the top of his lungs and leaning in with every statement. Rain was past her breaking point and silent tears flowed incessantly. "Listen to me and listen to me carefully," Randy said. He walked towards her and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes before adding, "I wasn't asking your opinion. I was passing instructions. And if you refuse to comply, I'll treat you like I do my enemies. And trust me. You don't want to be my enemy." "Welcome to the Family. Schwester," He added before walking off, leaving Rain to ponder on the bomb he had just detonated.
