They say, "a new day is another opportunity for you to forget yesterday worries and problems, as it is another chance for you to be happy".

Happiness? I think that's only a fantasy, a fairytale being told to little children so they could feel better. A mask that humans wear on their faces as a form of defense mechanism to escape reality a bit.

"Liv! Liv!" The excited voice of my best friend broke me out of my train of thought.

"Now what's got you so stoked this morning?"

I raised my brows at her.

"Well I've got good news for you girl" She grinned widely.

"Well I'm all ears, but first let's get outta here, this place keeps getting disgusting day by day" I scrunched my nose in disgust at our current environment which is also our place of shelter by the way.

"Right, I forgot about our situation for a minute, but your expression makes it sound so terrible". Jade replied.

"Girl, we live in the most terrible city in LA" I glared at her.

"For the past ten years, the streets of skid row has been our place of shelter!" I groaned out in frustration.

"Okay,okay, you don't have to get so fired up" She sighed.

"I'm sorry for my little outburst, I just keep being reminded of our miserable lives every single day, and this morning isn't an exception". I released a shaky breath trying to calm myself down.

"Liv, it's okay, but one thing I'm glad about is that we both had each other during these miserable years of our lives" She gave a soothing smile.

"Now, enough of this pity party, let me tell the why i got so excited earlier" She rubbed her palms together which got me so curious about the news she was about to break.

"Well, while I was out for my morning run earlier, I bumped into Jax and the rest of the boys, and they informed me about an opportunity coming from a private organization" She paused to see my reaction and then I urged her to continue.

"Apparently, this organization helps the underprivileged kids, the homeless youngeters, orphans, blah-blah-blah".

"Well my point is, this private organization could be our ticket out of this shithole, Jax further explained to me about how they help youngsters to put their skills and talents into great use, they've visited a lot of underdeveloped places in the past and now Skid-row is their next stop" The look of excitement was still stuck on her face as she awaited my response.

"Look jade, I'm not sure about this 'Private organization' that you just gave a full details about" I sighed, feeling unsettled about the whole thing.

"Besides, how does Jax know so much about this organization?" I furrowed my brows, trying to analyze the whole thing.

"Well, according to him, a sophisticated man who was walking down the streets yesterday caught him red-handed while he was about to mug him" She explained.

"Whoa! That's new, I'm surprised the notorious Jax got caught" I smiled in amusement.

"But why is he not in jail now?" I looked at her in confusion.

"Well that's how the opportunity flew in, that same man is part of the same organization that I was talking about and he was at skid-row to observe the surroundings before they start full work". She replied

"C'mon Liv, these kind of opportunity doesn't come too often" She whined

"Alright, we're gonna go check it out" I chuckled at her drama.

"Now?" She gazed at me with anticipation.

"Oh, is it today?" I gave her an oblivious look.

"When were you expecting it to happen then? When we taste misery completely?" She gave me mocking look while I rolled my eyes at her response.

Soon we got to our location and it was being held at skid-row. According to jade, they didn't want us to feel inferior so they chose a familiar environment for the event to take place.

Big white tents were being set up at every corner, I was a little surprised that something like this was actually happening right here at skid-row. Maybe the universe decided to prove me wrong based on my little train of thought this morning.

The event started and the boys were taken to one side while the ladies were led to another, we were served some snacks and drinks while a little introductory speech was ongoing. Jade gave me a little smile as we listened to a speech that was about how our lives were going to change for the better and her hands trembled a bit, I gave it a little squeeze to calm down her nervousness.

We both looked at each other with misty eyes feeling so overwhelmed at that moment.

Will I finally understand and get to experience that emotion called "happiness"? I thought to myself.

But if had known that wishing for a fantasy to become a reality in my life was a crime that I should never commit, I would have just allowed that fantasy remain an imagination in my head rather than trying to achieve the impossible.

While every youngsters were all lost in that dreamy imagination that they thought was about to become a reality, the unforseen disaster happened.

Kids started loosing consciousness one after the other, jade looked at me with fear and confusion and before I could say anything, she was the next. While I tried to awaken my best friend, I felt myself feeling numb, my eyes were getting drowsy, and slowly I began to lose my consciousness. A little tear dropped down my eye as I regretted not trusting the unsettledness that I had felt earlier that morning.

Why didn't i stop jade? Why couldn't we be like the other kids who stayed back and chose not to dream for something beyond their limits. But instead, we decided to bite more than we could chew.

I committed a crime by trying to be happy and this is the cost. Finally, I gave in to oblivion.

5 YEARS LATER,

(An underground casino)

Sounds of laughter and curse words filled the air as different men gambled together.

"Y'all just a bunch losers" A bald-headed man grinned widely exposing his side golden-tooth.

"Another round ray" Another man who sat opposite to him said in displeased tone.

"Nah, wanna go fuck some whores" He waved him across.

"You scared you're gon' lose" He smirked at him.

"You tripping man, I'm off for some manly business" He grinned at his opponent who scowled at him.

Deep inside the casino,a young man twirled his chair around while puffing out heavy smoke,he released an annoyed grunt at the sound of his phone ringing.

"Speak!" He ordered in a deep voice.

"What? You idiot!" He yelled furiously at whomever he was on the phone with.

"What about the goods?" He calmed a bit but tapped his fingers repeatedly on the table.

"Just come over to the base, you incompetent fool" He hung the phone angrily.

"Fuck,I need to release my anger on something" He sighed deeply before reaching out to his phone again.

"Bring me my toy" He ordered.

He opened another door in the same office which leads to his private chambers and sat on his bed expecting his guest and soon a knock was heard causing him to break out in a grin.

"Come in" He said.

Soon two of his men came in with a young beautiful looking lady who was no other than Olivia Wright. Gone was the savage and fierce 18-year old girl, this current individual was just a prey looking all pitiful right in front of her predator.

The men bowed and left immediately,while the olivia whimpered and looked down slowly.

"You know,I just got an annoying news and I'm not so happy tonight, therefore you my dear have to ease my anger tonight"

He broke out in a sadistic grin.

"Do I have to tell you what to do?" His face turned into an expressionless one.

She pulled off her raggedy clothes,and stood stark naked in front of him while his eyes darkened with lust. He moved in a swift and pushed her on the bed, without washing any minute,he cupped both breasts into his mouth like his life depended on them,not being satisfied with that he pulled off his pants and shirt in a rush and started thrusting in and out of her while she moaned in pain and a little bit of pleasure.

He continued thrusting in and out her without minding her pain.Soon he pulled out her and panted so loudly on the bed.

"Fuck off" He spat coldly.

She stood up and tried to find her balance, feeling so worn out,she picked her clothes and limped slowly out of the room.She got to a large looking room which contained so many bunk beds with different ladies present.

"Livia, are you okay?" Another young looking lady rushed towards her with concern written all over her face.

She groaned softly and slowly sat on her bed.

"Funny right? It's not the first time,but everytime I go through this,it's always a thing of torture and pain for me" She scoffed while trying to keep her unshed tears from falling.

"Hey,no one is meant to feel sense of excitement for something like this, I know this past five has shown us what hell truly means in earth. But we're gonna get through this" She held her hands in reassurance.

"How jade? These men sure doesn't look like they're gonna get tired of us and let us go unharmed" She threw her hands up in exasperation.

"We have a plan" Jade breathed out in a nervously.

Olivia looked at her friend with confusion written all over her face.

(An underground base)

"Ahhhh! Please spare me!".

A man strapped to a chair in what seemed to be a torture room screamed in pains, looking unrecognizable.

"Pluck out his both eyes,they disgust me". A deep and cold authoritative voiced boomed.

"No no no,you can't do this Xander,I am your uncle" He whimpered in tear.

"Be grateful, I'm not ending your life" He smirked coldly.

"Taking your sight away is my act of mercy".

"Xander please!!" His voice of agony echoed after the young man as he slowly walked out of the toture room.

"You should have thought about the consequences before deciding to provoke the boss" One of the men toturing him smirked and slowly brought a big plier towards his eye,soon his loud scream of agony echoed throughout the whole building.

"What is next?" Alexander asked his secretary as they drove past the streets and cities of Los Angeles.

"You have a meeting with your executives and after that you....".

"Have you suddenly now lost your ability to speak?" He glared coldly at the young man who sighed slowly before bracing himself for what he was about to tell his boss.

"Uhm,you have a blind date with the heiress of Keeks automobile company".

At that moment,both his driver and secretary felt the change of temperature in the car,before anyone could say anything,the sound of a phone ringing saved the moment.

"Grandmother" He sighed slowly

"Xander sweetheart, how're you doing dear?" The voice of an elderly woman boomed sweetly from the phone.

"A blind date?" He questioned.

"Ahh yes, she's such a well-mannered young lady from a reputable family" She spoke with excitement.

"Grandmother" His voice sounded with annoyance.

"You know,my only wish is for you to get married give me a great grandchild" She replied solemnly

Alexander sighed slowly knowing the only way his grandmother could get to him was through an emotional blackmail.

"Fine, I'll meet with her" He hung up immediately .

Soon they arrived at the company, and as usual he ignored everyone's greetings.They walked straight to the conference room and everyone stood up with fear and respect to welcome him which he only replied with a nod.

"Let's start".

"Boss,we have a slight problem" Alexander's right-hand man reported over the phone.

"What is it jace?" he asked calmly.

"Our goods got stolen while they were being transported to the base" Jace replied.

"And how were they able to do that?" Alexander asked in a cold manner.

"Two men were the ones in charge of the delivery,but they got ambushed on the way and it looked like they were outnumbered" Jace explained.

"Who are the imbeciles that stole from us?" Alexander asked.

"The venom gang" Jace replied.

"The gangsters?" Alexander raised in brows in amusement.

"Yes boss"

He smirked coldly as he tapped his fingers slowly on the table.

"End the fools who couldn't do their job properly, it's likely we have a spy in the clan,and lastly get the goods back before nightfall,I want their leader alive" He ordered.

"Yes boss"

He ended the call and stood up to get a good city view,but deep within he wasn't really focused on that,his mind was somewhere else.

(Underground casino)

"So what's your plan in getting everyone out of here?" Olivia questioned her friend.

"Well they have a really big operation tonight,I overheard their conversation while doing a lap-dance for one of the men" Jade explained to the ladies as they gathered round.

"So when do they leave?" One of the ladies asked.

"The time is 7:35pm presently,and they ought to leave by 8:00pm" She explained.

"So we have just twenty-five minutes left to leave this hell-hole" Another lady spat out in disgust.

"Wait a minute guys, even if they're going for an operation, there are still gonna to be few men left to watch over the whole place,how do we go about that?" Olivia pinched the bridge of her nose while looking frustrated already.

"Well, there's also a plan for that" Jade smiled at the ladies who had confusion written on their faces.

"Alright since we always attend to them every night, tonight we spike their drinks,they actually can't do without drinking,so that won't be a problem and it would make us look less suspicion" She winked

"How did you get the substance to be used for spiking?" Olivia asked,still surprised at the whole thing.

"Well it's actually a substance that makes one unconscious for few hours,I fucked the doctor that came last to treat the don and I had something in return" She grinned widely.

"Jade!" She widened her eyes before hitting her friend repeatedly on her arm.

"You could have gotten in trouble for that,they could have killed you,how could you risk your safety for that?" She sobbed as she continued hitting her friend.

"Hey,look at me,I would fuck a dog if it means our successful escape from this hellish place" She looked at her friend with so much determination.

"Alright ladies, it's almost time,and lastly livia, you're the one to handle the don,he doesn't want any other girl apart from you" Jade held her friend's hands and gave her a reassuring look.

"But how do I spike his drink?" She asked with fear written all over her face.

"Figure it out girl,we can do this" She nodded at her.

They heard a loud bang immediately.

"Hey,you fucking whores, it's business time" A voice was heard from the outside.

"Alright it's time ladies, let's do this" They all looked at each other with different emotions written on their faces.

They dressed up and soon dispersed to their various locations.Olivia slowly walked down the hall feeling so nervous,soon she got to the don's entrance door, looking at the guard in front of her who had a stotic look. He opened the door for her and she walked down to his inner chambers.

"Master" She bowed softly.

"Come over" He beckoned on her.

She walked slowly towards him,on remembering their plan,she changed her walking steps and moved in a seductive way with her cleavages so visible.

"That's new" He looked at her with amusement written on his face.

"Well I've grown so addicted to your touch my dear master" She smiled at him,as his eyes darkened with so much lust.

Knowing she had to somehow distract him if she wants to spike the drink,she chose to go beyond her personal morals and be totally shameless.

"Let's see who's tryna mess with us tonight,drag her along" He smirked coldly.

They got to the casino room where others where and found the men unconscious on the floor,before they could react to it,they saw something even more surprising.
