My Disabled Husband Is A Secret Billionaire

Author: : Christina Robles
Genre: Romance
To save the family business from bankruptcy, Carmen was forced to marry a paralyzed and blind man in exchange for an investment in her father's business. Her early marriage to Felix was terrible but she held on. He had not stopped telling her that he already had someone in his heart because he too had not wanted this marriage. At first, she didn't care about it, but when she started to have feelings for him, this sentence became the most poignant of her life. Following Hugo's advice, she put Felix at ease and managed to enter his world. The two of them grew closer and she helped him agree to have surgery to regain his sight and mobility in his legs. The same day he regained his sight, she was so happy for him that they just went out together to celebrate, but that same evening, everything changed after he met a woman. "This woman has things in common with my ex-fiancée who I have been looking for for a long time. I pray it's her." Carmen had been in pain but told herself that it didn't matter because he was certainly looking for her in order to ask her for explanations but after that night, he had become distant with her. The unpleasant man she had once known was back and she was able to measure hismonstrosity the night he slept with this woman in their apartment and on the bed she shared with him. Betrayed and hurt, she asked him for a divorce and decided to leave, hoping he could at least hold her back but he seemed quite happy.Three months later, she was passing in a street when a child insisted that she buy his newspaper that he was selling. She wasn't used to it but for a child, she made the gesture and the headline was what paralyzed her on the spot. "After three years where everyone thought he had lost his life in a traffic accident, billionaire Elio Ramirez is back and has been living all this time under the false identity of Felix Alvarez."

Chapter 1 The evening when everything changed

Carmen had been walking around in her room for minutes because she didn't understand why her parents would have asked to see her. She knew that most often, it was to reproach her for things but the way her half-sister, Célia, had said it, she understood that it was not an easy situation to understand. For her to understand, she had to go into the living room and that was the only thing to do to free her mind. We had never asked her opinion on anything and she didn't think it was a start.

"Luckily you are here my daughter. I'm glad you really understand that we need you," Paula told him.

Her daughter ? It was the first time she had called him that and it didn't bode well. More often than not, it was just insults and contempt. She looked at her father who was sweating. Javier Rodriguez sweaty and panicked? This story didn't feel good.

"We all know that you are surprised that we asked you to come and we understand you Carmen but the situation is not to be taken lightly this time. You have to help us."

Help ? Things had always been imposed on him in this family. No one had ever asked her about her birth and even her father, the only person with whom she had the same blood in the family. If they spoke kindly to her, it was certainly because they wanted her to give her life for one of them.

"We will run out of food in a while Carmen and we will all die."

She appeared indifferent despite her father's soft and calm voice. The main people to benefit from the Rodriguez fortune were her half-sister and her mother, so she didn't see why she was going to panic about this.

"Don't keep calm damn it Just because someone tries to be nice to you doesn't mean you'll grow wings. The situation requires sacrifice and the one we will have to sacrifice is you. It's not death that awaits you but a kind of deliverance."

She assimilated slowly because something told her that her father spoke with reserve, certainly because he did not want to rush her all of a sudden.

"The family business is bankrupt and we have an investor but in order for him to help us, he is asking in return for a marriage with one of my daughters."

This was a trap, Carmen thought. If it was an investor capable of saving their company from ruin, that simply meant that it was a rich man that Célia should have married since she was the one who deserved everything that was beautiful in life and what's better than a billionaire husband. There was something fishy going on.

"This isn't normal, dad. Why is it up to her to marry this man and not me? I think if I become his wife, you won't even have to work so hard. I will get us out of the situation. This marriage must be mine."

Carmen breathed in relief. She hoped that her father would accept that Célia marry this man instead of him because she was not even ready for marriage yet. All her hopes vanished when she heard her mother-in-law say.

"You can't marry him because he's disabled and I refuse to let my daughter, my only child, marry a man who can't do anything, not even give her a kiss. He's not the billionaire but it's a friend of his who is and he'd like to do him a favor by giving him a wife in exchange for money," Paula snapped at Célia.

Finally Carmen understood. It was just eternal condemnation. She looked at her father, the only person she still had in this world since her mother had died giving birth to her. The latter looked away and she understood. There was nothing she could do to change his mind.

"You're going to get married tomorrow, Carmen, and don't do anything stupid."

Just the next day? So suddenly? It wasn't serious at all. She didn't know anything about this man, she didn't even know if he could like her because her mother-in-law kept telling her that she needed to lose weight. It was not a marriage of love but a marriage of convenience and until then, she did not want to put that into her head for fear of suffering more.

"I know I always told you that you were fat but you don't need to look at your weight because, this man won't even be able to see you. Blind and paralyzed in the legs, you won't risk a contemptuous look from him."

It was the only way her mother-in-law had found to reassure her. A mother's words were what she wanted but she couldn't even listen to them and instead of a father's words replacing them, the latter only thought about his business.

"Can I go back to my room?" She asked in a very small voice.

"I understand that you want to cry about the situation but don't worry. You can cry as much as you want because he won't even be able to see your reddened eyes. You can go."

She gave her father one last look of distress and ran up the stairs. Once in her room, she slammed the door and slid against it, crying. A marriage, an eternal union with a stranger and without love. So that was what she was condemned to after having spent years bearing the label of the orphan girl and the child born from infidelity on the part of her father. She couldn't even run away even if the idea crossed her mind. They were going to find her and by all means.

Chapter 2 Wedding contract

The next day, Carmen had finally established a better way to escape without being found. It was risky but she didn't want to waste her life because she wanted to save a company that wasn't even hers. She could be considered selfish but she told herself that if everyone had put themselves in her place, her father would never have accepted this proposition of an investment in exchange for marriage. She hadn't taken much but only when she wanted to leave through the window, the door to her room opened and she saw her father.

When the latter saw what she was about to do, a nameless darkness covered her eyes and she already knew what awaited her.

"The only reason I'm not going to punish you is simply because you're no longer my responsibility and your husband will be happy to correct you. It's time to get married. You will sign your marriage contract in my office."

Just a marriage contract, just that and nothing else. All hope vanished and she followed him. No amount of resistance was going to help him. When she arrived in front of her father's office, the door of which was ajar, she saw a tall man in a suit. She couldn't hope it was him because her husband was disabled.

"Hello miss, I am Mr. Félix Alvarez's lawyer, I am handling the marriage procedure requested by Mr. Hugo Lutero."

She didn't even know who her husband was and no one told her precisely. She took the marriage contract and looked at it distressedly. Every second that passed, she hoped that her father would tell her that she did not have to sign, but the look in his eyes made it clear to her that her investment depended on his signature.

"Can I take some time to read?"

"My investment is not going to wait. Your reading, you put it aside and you put your signature on this paper and now!" Shouted Javier.

She took a pen and signed with a trembling hand. It looked more like a grimace than a signature, but that detail wasn't important to anyone. She had just sealed her fate with that of a man who she didn't even know what he looked like.

"Congratulations miss! I must take you now to your husband."

"But..." She began before being interrupted by her father.

"You are a married woman now and your place is with your husband, my dear daughter. Good luck for the future!"

Just like that, with the snap of a finger she was no longer part of her family. It was the nightmare she never expected. Her stepmother and half-sister looked at her with smiles of joy, happy to have certainly gotten rid of her.

"Please hurry, Mrs. Alvarez."

She walked quickly so as not to waste time with the lawyer who certainly had things to do. As she got into the car and left her father's property, a solitary tear rolled down her cheek. This was the end and she didn't even know what world she was walking into.

As the car finally passed through the great city of Madrid, she was captivated by the beauty of this city. Since her birth, she had never left Seville. She could admire as much as she wanted but her ideas could not be diverted from what awaited her.

"Little reminders; he can be cold, distant and even sometimes verbally aggressive, so you have to find the best way to understand him and always stay on good terms with him."

A verbally aggressive person could end up physically attacking and they had no strength to defend themselves. The fear grew more and more within her as she imagined what she was getting herself into.

" How old is he?"

"You still have a copy of your marriage contract with you, you can look at it."

She knew it well but she would have liked him to tell her so she wouldn't find out herself. She began to leaf through the marriage contract and at each page, she swallowed with difficulty. Felix Alvarez, aged thirty-two, was in a traffic accident three years ago and many people believe he is dead. He cannot make any physical effort and cannot see. He has become allergic to human presence and yet doctors think that this is what will help him get better, which is why he should get married.

She was just medicine for a person who no longer wanted to remain among the living. It was all insane.

"I would like to erase my signature from this document, please."

"It's already too late, miss."

No turning back, so that's what it meant. No way to separate from this man if he didn't decide it as he had decided for marriage. To hell with his father and his business.

When the car stopped at the bottom of a building, she got out and found that it was a very modest place. After all, her husband was a poor man who couldn't even work to feed himself.

"Let's go!"

She nodded and followed him inside the building. There wasn't even an elevator and the stairs were endless. It was a real punishment for her on top of the weight of the marriage. She was about to have a panic attack when the lawyer rang the doorbell and she realized that they had arrived at the door that would soon be hers. She wondered who was going to open the door since it was said he couldn't stand on his legs. When she heard the sound of a key in the lock, her head began to spin uncontrollably and she fainted.

Chapter 3 Meeting of the spouses

Waking up slowly, Carmen realized she was lying on a couch but she didn't seem to notice the location. It was the first time in her life that she found herself elsewhere because if she was not in the classroom, she was in her father's house. When she turned her head to the side, she saw a dizzying man looking at her coldly. She stood up abruptly and when she saw the lawyer she was with, she breathed with relief. She stood on her two feet and looked furtively around the room when she saw the silhouette of a man, sitting in a wheelchair facing the window.

She looked at the others for an explanation but as no one spoke, she came to the conclusion that it was her husband.

"Welcome home, Carmen Alvarez. Your wedding ring is on the table and you must wear it."

She saw a wedding ring with a real diamond that sparkled. She looked at the man who had just said it and looked at the one in the wheelchair. A diamond jewel was a very big fortune and she didn't deserve that, not for a marriage without love and without a future.

"I see that you are still hesitant but each time you think about terminating this marriage contract, remember your father's business which could go bankrupt at any time."

A threat hanging over her. Her father's business which served to feed other people who suffered nothing like what she suffered. She wanted to scream that life was unfair but in the end, it wasn't going to change anything in her situation.

"I present to you your husband, Félix Alvarez. He can be unpleasant if he decides to be so, it's up to you to make sure everything goes well."

They then left and she didn't know what to do. Go talk to this man or pretend no one is there. She couldn't make up her mind and yet she had to find a solution very quickly.

"I...sir..."

She couldn't put together a correct sentence. She remembered that he couldn't even see her and tiptoed toward him. Once behind him, she didn't know what to do next.

"Would you perhaps like to ask me when our wedding night will be? Our honeymoon trip and which country I plan to take you to? It's a Cinderella dream but we're in reality and I hope you realize that I couldn't offer you any of that because I'm poor and I have no way of working."

His voice was cold as if he was angry with her. she didn't know exactly what she had done to make him hate her without knowing her and it was actually mutual. She hated him too.

"I...What can I do?"

" Nothing at all. I didn't ask you to come. You are not my wife because I never married you so stop pretending to be one. It's a dream that will never come true."

She didn't know that. She did not know that his opinion had been neglected in this story and yet he was the main actor. Who was she married to then? to the tree? impossible because she had indeed seen a signature before putting her own.

"Your signature appeared on the document."

"I never proposed to you, I never gave you any documents to sign, nor did I slip a ring on your finger. Do you really think you're my wife? That you can be my wife? The place is not to be taken because it is occupied."

A place already occupied which was not to be taken. So she understood that it was a nightmare. The idea of marriage did not come from him but from someone else, certainly his friend who had invested in his father's business. If she left, he was going to break the contract and if she stayed, she was going to spend her whole life suffering. She wanted to cry, to scream but it wasn't the time because no one was going to calm down. She was alone, alone against everyone in the world.

"Before tomorrow morning, I don't want to see you in this apartment anymore. This is my private space and I don't know why you agreed to this marriage but you will have to go back now otherwise hell will await you."

He turned his wheelchair and that's when she saw his sunglasses protecting his eyes. Despite his disabilities, he was so handsome and imposing that she took her breath away. He steered his wheelchair towards the corridor and when she heard a door slam suddenly, she jumped. He was sending her a message that was certain.

Just on her first day of marriage, things were already like this then, she didn't even know if she was going to last. Night was falling little by little since he left and she didn't know where to go. She had nothing in the way of clothing and she didn't have anywhere to sleep either. He hadn't asked her to make himself at home as she had hoped. When sleep began to overtake her, she lay down on the couch she had woken up on when she passed out. She hoped to wake up the next day before him so that he wouldn't know that she had taken the trouble to move in without agreement because that too, he wasn't going to tolerate since he already didn't tolerate her presence . She hoped she wouldn't sleep soundly because as the lawyer had told her, he was verbally aggressive and it could turn into a physical attack that she couldn't handle.
