Chapter 1
little-angel POV.
The funeral of the alpha of the Moonlit Claws pack had ended just a few days before. Life was slowly trickling back to normal, the hush of grief giving way to the anticipation of the upcoming ceremony. "The Shadowboom Unveiling", that sacred rite where the Moongoddess would designate the new alpha and show us our mates for under 18.
I was joined by two of my childhood friends, Sunshine and Sunrise, as we made our way towards the apple groves .
we strolled through the enchanted woods. Our footsteps were drowned by the rustling leaves beneath our feet, and the gentle breeze whispered secrets in our ears. Our conversation revolved around the upcoming ceremony, where dreams and desires intertwined.
"So, who do you think she'll choose for you?" Sunshine asked, her eyes sparkling with intrigue. Her question hung in the air, waiting for an answer.
"I don't know," I replied, "But, I do hope that I get a mate who is both charming and stunning, and would never reject me." My voice shimmered with hope, my heart fluttered with the thought of a future filled with love.
Sunrise laughed, her voice was light and teasing, "Dreaming big, aren't we?"
We all burst out laughing, our laughter echoed through the forest,
Just as we were lost in our girlish fantasies, a patrol of Warriors emerged from the shadows of the forest. At the front was Stone-heart, a young wolf whose arrogance matched his strength, his stoic, handsome face carved with responsibility far beyond his years. He was just 22. He signaled his men to move forward, his gaze fixed steadfastly on me. I felt my heart skip a beat.
"Go on," he commanded them, "I'll join you later." His voice was a low rumble, echoing against the towering trees around us.
Sunshine and Sunrise exchanged glances before trotting off, leaving me alone with Stone-heart. My heart pounded in my chest, my palms felt clammy against the basket handle. I watched them disappear around the bend, suddenly feeling very alone.
"Little-angel," Stone-heart's voice cut through the silence, his eyes meeting mine. "We need to talk."
I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat. The air between us crackled with a strange tension, a mix of anticipation, confusion, and something else I couldn't quite place.
As he made his way towards me, I couldn't help but feel a rush of anticipation. His presence commanded attention, exuding a sense of superiority that both intrigued and unnerved me. This was Stone-heart, a man who wasted no time in expressing his deepest emotions.
"I have loved you for what feels like an eternity," he declared, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Tell me, what will it take for you to reciprocate my affections?"
His words hung in the air, and I found myself torn between being honest and sparing his feelings. Taking a deep breath, I mustered the courage to respond. "I will await the Shadowboom Unveiling to make my decision," I said softly, concealing the truth that his pride and pretentiousness repelled me.
Stone-heart's eyes narrowed, his face contorting with a volatile mix of frustration and wounded pride. "Regardless of who the Moongoddess chooses as your mate," he vowed, his voice laced with determination, "no one will ever reach my ankle."
I couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance at his words. His arrogance had reached new heights, making it all the more clear that he was not the one my heart yearned for. Deep down, I knew I desired more than just grandiose declarations of love.
Suddenly, Stone-heart take another step forward, arrogance radiating from his every word. "You may think you're special, but mark my words," he declared. "One day, I will ascend to the highest rank among the warriors. And at that moment, I won't even remember your name."
His words cut deep, but I refused to show it. With a heavy heart, I turned away and continued on my way, my thoughts swirling like the leaves caught in a whirlwind.
Rejoining my friends, Sunshine and Sunrise, I attempted to push the encounter with Stone-heart to the back of my mind. We continued our journey through the apple orchard, the vibrant colors of the trees providing a temporary distraction.
But despite the beauty surrounding us, the weight of Stone-heart's words lingered, casting a shadow over our carefree adventure. It was as if his presence was still haunting me, even in his absence.
Sunshine couldn't help but ask what had transpired between us.
"What did he say to you?" Sunshine inquired, concern etched on her face.
" Always the same old things, that he loves me and blablabla! "I say not wanting to dwell on it too much.
Unable to contain her curiosity any longer, Sunrise voiced her confusion. "I don't understand why you rejected Stone-heart," she said, genuine confusion in her voice. "He seemed so interested in you. I mean, his eyes never left you!" She said with envy.
Little did she know that Stone-heart's advances only served to irritate me.
I sighed, trying to find the right words to explain my feelings. "It's not that simple," I finally replied. "There's more to love than just someone being interested in you. Sometimes, you have to consider what's best for both parties involved."
"Love isn't just about giving in to the first person who shows interest," I continued. "There's a deeper connection that needs to be established. And with Stone-heart, I couldn't see that connection. It wouldn't have been fair to either of us."
As we continued to pick apples, Sunshine, ever the mediator, chimed in, reminding me of something that had slipped my mind , whispers that had traveled through our pack. "I can't deny the rumors, though," she said softly, her eyes filled with insight. "Stone-heart accomplished the rare feat of shifting into his wolf form at such a young age. I think at 8 years old ." she said thoughtfully.
I looked at her, intrigued. "What does that mean?" I asked.
"It means he has a great destiny," Sunshine replied. "All the girls in our pack want to be his second chance mate."
" It's a sign of immense strength and a great destiny awaiting him. No wonder so many girls covet the title of his second chance mate." She added.
Her words tugged at my heart, making me question my resolve. Maybe I was being too judgmental, too quick to dismiss him. After all, every one of us desired love and acceptance. But deep down, I knew what my heart truly longed for. I craved someone who possessed both strength and humility, someone whose love would cherish me without conditions.
"I appreciate your concern, both of you," I finally said, my voice laced with determination. "But I can't ignore my intuition. Love should be more than just destiny and appearance. It should be about heartfelt connection and genuine respect."
Sunrise and Sunshine exchanged glances, their eyes filled with understanding. They knew that ultimately, this was a decision that only I could make.
I bid farewell to my friends Sunrise and Sunshine as we finished picking the apples. With a final wave, I continued my journey homeward, the forest seeming to whisper its secrets as the fading sunlight cast long shadows on the path before me. Feeling the weight of uncertainty threatening to consume me, I trudged on.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness, causing me to stop in my tracks. It was Silent-tooth, the rejected mate of Stone-heart. Her eyes were filled with a mix of desperation and anger as she approached me, her voice laced with warning.
"Foolish girl," Silent-tooth sneered, her voice laced with bitterness. "Stone-heart is mine, and I will not allow you to come between us. Leave him be or face the consequences."
Fear gripped me momentarily, but defiance replaced it swiftly. I refused to be intimidated by her empty threats. After all, I didn't even like Stone-heart. I had no intention of pursuing him.
"I have no interest in Stone-heart," I replied firmly, holding my ground. "Your jealousy is misplaced, Silent-tooth. Find someone else to blame for your misfortune."
Silent-tooth's eyes glinted with anger, but she seemed taken aback by my defiance. She raised her voice. "You lie. I just saw you together and I saw the look you gave him. Ignore my words at your own peril! " She warned.
" You have no power over me, Silent-tooth. I have no interest in Stone-heart, so your threats hold no weight."
Silent-tooth narrowed her eyes at me, her fury evident. "Don't think this is over," she hissed, her voice filled with venom. "I will make sure you regret crossing me."
With those final words, Silent-tooth turned on her heel and stalked away, leaving me standing there, my heart pounding with a mix of defiance and uncertainty. While I had no desire to be involved with Stone-heart, I couldn't help but wonder what Silent-tooth was capable of.
As two days of the Shadowboom Unveiling approached, my excitement mingled with a sense of worry. I could hardly contain my anticipation, but a nagging fear crept in, making me wonder if I could endure the wait any longer. The burning desire to discover my destined mate consumed me.
Chapter 2
little-angel POV
As the eve of the Shadowboom Unveiling approached, my excitement mingled with a sense of worry. I could hardly contain my anticipation, but a nagging fear crept in, making me wonder if I could endure the wait any longer. The burning desire to discover my destined mate consumed me.
"Mom, did you hear that?" I asked, jolting awake as the whinnies of the horses pulling Full-moon's cart echoed through the house.
Sky-pearl, my mother, stirred beside me. "Yes, it sounds like your father is back," she replied, her voice filled with sleepy confusion.
We hurriedly stumbled out of bed and made our way to the front door, desperate to see Full-moon, my lumberjack father, after his long day of selling orisier wood in the neighboring villages.
"I'll put the horses in the stable," Full-moon grumbled, his face etched with a perpetual scowl, as he walked past us.
I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. Was it too much to ask for a warm greeting from my father? Nevertheless, as Sky-pearl my mother opened the door, we both tried to hide our grievances and she asked him how the sales had gone.
"Hey honey, how did the sales go today? Any luck?"
"How do you think they went?" Full-moon snapped, slumping down on the worn-out sofa. "I'm tired, the prices were lousy, and the villagers barely paid attention. It's always the same."
Looking directly at me, he said, "I regret that Sky-pearl, your mother, did not give me a boy instead of you, little-angel, a pathetic girl. I doubt I will be able to support our family for a long time." His words shattered me, leaving me broken and vulnerable.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I confronted him, my voice trembling with emotion. "Why would you say something so hurtful? Am I not enough for you? Don't I deserve your love and support, regardless of my gender?"
My mother, standing beside me, pleaded with him gently. "Please, don't say that again. Your words carry immense weight, and they deeply affect our little-angel. We need to stick together as a family and support one another through thick and thin."
My father looked at her with contempt then looked away, still nervous.
I sighed inwardly, realizing that his bad mood was not going to lift anytime soon. But I couldn't let his negativity dampen my spirits.
"Do you think the Shadowboom Unveiling will bring us some good luck, Father?" I asked, hoping to lighten the atmosphere.
My father raised an eyebrow, his scowl momentarily fading. "Luck, eh? I don't believe in such things. But who knows? Maybe it will surprise us this time," he said casually.
However, deep down, I knew he secretly hoped that Moongoddess would choose me a rich mate during the Shadowboom Unveiling scheduled the next day.
Today was the Shadowboom Unveiling, an event that had all the young eighteen-year-old werewolves of our pack waited impatiently.
As Sunshine, Sunrise and I walked through the village, we could feel the collective joy in the air. The townsfolk were buzzing with excitement, exchanging playful banter and teasing. It seemed like everyone had a stake in this ceremony, as if the outcome would somehow affect the whole village.
We couldn't help but tease each other about who would be assigned as our mates.
"Nervous, Little-Angel?" Sunshine nudged me playfully. "I bet your mate will be the richest of them all."
I laughed nervously, hoping deep down that my mate would indeed be wealthy enough to please my parents. But more importantly, I wanted him to be handsome, kind and above all humble.
As the evening approached, we gathered around a massive wood fire, the flames flickering and dancing in the cool night air.
I sat with my friends, Sunshine and Sunrise, who shared similar apprehensions about their future mates. Sunshine, always the optimistic one, said, "I hope my mate is someone who loves adventure just like me. I want to explore the world together, running wild under the moonlight!"
Sunrise, on the other hand, was more practical. "I just want a mate who will be loyal and supportive," she said. "Someone who understands my dreams and will stand by my side through thick and thin."
"I'm sure we'll each find our perfect match, guys. Just wait and see," Sunshine said with a reassuring smile.
As we continued discussing our hopes and fears, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived. An elder, a strong and dignified figure, stepped forward, signaling the start of the ceremony. The village fell silent as he began to speak.
"Tonight, we gather around the sacred fire to witness the Unveiling of our destined mates," the elder declared, his voice carrying through the crowd. "May this fire represent the eternal flame of love and unity within our pack."
As we awaited the moon goddess's unveiling, a sudden thunderclap pierced the air, signaling her magnificent presence. In a breathtaking display of splendor, she descended upon us, her ethereal aura captivating our senses, her radiance shone brightly in the darkness.
The whispers of the crowd grew hushed as all eyes turned towards her.
The moon goddess greeted us with her ethereal voice, "Greetings, my beloved pack. It is with heavy heart that I that I note the passing of your Alpha , Alpha Cyrius , However, I am here tonight to unveil the new Alpha that I have chosen for you all."
The crowd listened intently, holding their breath, as whispers filled the air. Who would she choose to lead our pack?
As the tension mounted, the moon goddess's gaze fell upon Sone-heart, and a collective gasp rippled through the pack.
The moon goddess continued, "After careful consideration, I have chosen Stone-heart to be your new Alpha."
I couldn't believe it. Stone-heart was the most arrogant and selfish wolf in our pack, and the thought of him being our leader made me sick. But everyone else around me erupted in applause, hailing the new Alpha.
Stone-heart stood up from his seat, preening in his newfound power as if he was born to lead.
I rolled my eyes nervously, wondering how our pack would fare under his rule. As he caught my gaze, he gave me a teasing smile, as if to say, "See what you're missing by pushing me away."
Sone-heart approached the moon goddess, a smug smile playing on his lips. "Thank you, Moon Goddess," he said, his voice laced with pride. "I will lead our pack to greatness."
The moon goddess placed her hand upon Sone-heart's shoulder, granting him the authority he coveted. The cheers and acclamation from the pack filled the clearing, celebrating this new era under his leadership.
I rolled my eyes nervously, annoyed by his arrogance and the attention it garnered.
I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the moon goddess's choice. But as she spoke, it became clear why she had chosen him.
"Stone-heart has proven himself valiant and courageous. He will lead this pack to success and glory." Moon goddess said.
Despite my doubts, I knew that we had to give him a chance. For the sake of our pack, we all had to rally behind our new Alpha and support him in his leadership.
I watched as the moon goddess began revealing the mates of the people . Some were overjoyed, smiling and embracing their newfound partners. Others, however, shed tears of disappointment as they realized they weren't matched with who they had hoped for. The air was filled with mixed emotions, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from the scene unfolding before me.
Amongst the chaos, I noticed Sunshine, my closest friend and sister-like confidant, being rejected by her attribute mate. A pang of sorrow shot through my heart as I saw her tears fall freely. Trying to offer comfort, I took her trembling hands in mine and whispered, "It's going to be okay, Sunshine. You're stronger than this."
Sunrise, her twin sister, knelt beside us, her soothing voice reaching our ears. "Don't worry, Sunshine. We'll find a way through this together." I admired the deep bond that radiated between them, and it gave me hope for my own situation.
As the moon goddess finished her task, she began to depart . Desperation welled up within me, and I couldn't let her leave without an explanation. Gathering my courage, I called out to her, my voice quivering. "Wait! Please, Moon goddess, you forgot me!"
To my surprise, she turned back towards me, curiosity glinting in her eyes. "You, little one? I thought I had completed my task. What can I do for you?"
Her response filled me with both hope and confusion. "I'm still without a mate. Can you please help me find mine?" I pleaded, my voice barely above a whisper.
The moon goddess regarded me with an enigmatic expression before uttering words that made little sense to me. "Seek the light that shines upon the darkest shadows, where knowledge and acceptance converge. There, where lifelines intertwine, you shall find the key that unlocks your destined union."
Confusion clouded my mind, But before I have time to ask a question she leaves.
I was trying to keep myself together after finding out that I didn't have a mate. I could feel everyone's eyes on me, pitying me. It didn't help that my parents were angry with me and rejected me as their child.
"Little-angel, how could you embarrass our family like this?" my mother said coldly.
"I didn't do anything wrong," I replied defensively.
"It's a shame that our pack has a member without a mate," my father added.
Sunrise and Sunshine didn't say anything, but I could feel their distance and see their pitying looks. It felt like everyone had turned their backs on me.
I went back home, feeling more alone than ever. But then, I saw Stone-heart and my parents sitting together, laughing and chatting. I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy and sadness. Stone-heart had always loved me, but I never paid attention to him. And now, he was the alpha of the pack and had the power to make me his mate.
"Little-angel, come here," Stone-heart said as he noticed me.
I approached them, feeling anxious and scared.
"I know we've never been close, but I've loved you for a long time, Little-angel," Stone-heart said, his eyes softening.
I didn't know what to say, but I felt my heart racing. I knew that my parents would want me to accept his proposal, but I couldn't force myself to be with someone I didn't love.
"It's okay, Stone-heart. I need some time to think," I said, trying to sound confident.
Once we were alond, my parents were overjoyed when they found out that Stone-heart, the powerful new Alpha, had decided he wanted to make me his mate. They couldn't understand why I didn't share their excitement.
"But Little-Angel, Stone-heart is everything a girl could desire!" my mother exclaimed, her eyes shining.
"He's strong, influential, and he loves you," my father added, a touch of disappointment in his voice.
I looked at them with a heavy heart, trying to explain. "But father, mother, I don't love him. How can I agree to spend the rest of my life with someone I don't love?"
My parents shook their heads in disbelief. "Love will come, Little-Angel," my mother insisted. "You can't pass up this opportunity for a brighter future."
Feeling the weight of their expectations crushing me, I reluctantly gave in to the pressure from my parents. As night fell, my mother prepared me for the next day when I would become Stone-heart's mate. Deep down, though, doubts and unease churned within me like a storm.
That night, as the moon illuminated the forest outside the window, a decision formed within me. I couldn't go through with this. I had to run away. Leave everything I knew behind to find my own happiness.
With determination fueling my every action, I packed a bag with supplies, ensuring every movement was as silent as the night itself, so as not to disturb my slumbering parents. As I crept out of our room, my heart raced with anticipation and a mix of fear and excitement.
In the first light of day, the guards were hot on my trail, their presence felt even through the dense foliage of the forest. Adrenaline surged through my veins as I pushed myself harder, my footsteps a chorus of determination. They were growing closer, their shouts echoing ominously through the trees.
Just as they were on the brink of capturing me, my foot slipped over the edge of a hidden crevasse. Panic enveloped me as I tried to regain my balance, but it was too late. Darkness swallowed me as I tumbled into the depths, my consciousness slipping away.
Chapter 3:
little-angel POV
I groaned as I slowly opened my eyes, only to find myself surrounded by towering houses and a swarm of people giving me strange looks. Confusion washed over me like a tidal wave. What on earth was happening? I couldn't comprehend why everyone was dressed in crazy costumes. It felt like I had fallen into a bizarre alternate reality.
What pack had I fallen into?
I walked hesitantly through the bustling street, unsure of where to go or what to do. People rushed past me, bumping into me without a care in the world.
Another person dressed in a strange black dress bumped into me and I fell, hitting my head on the ground, which was weird, painted gray and quite hard, where had the true ground gone?
As I stood up and tried to balance, another person bumped into me.
" Get off the weird girl! You're blocking the way." She screamed as she walked through me.
Humph ! I couldn't help but wonder why everyone was in such a hurry. I mean, why the rush? And what was with their unusual outfits? I could see people with scary pumpkin heads , people dressed with weirdly holed pumpkins, and even a giant pumpkins .
"Hey, check out that weirdo!" I heard a child laugh and point at me. I felt a pang of hurt in my chest. I didn't understand why they were singling me out.
As I approached the passerby, I heard more mocking voices in the distance. "Look at those mismatched and dirty clothes! Did she get dressed in the dark? Where did she steal those clothes from a homeless man," one voice snickered.
"Yeah, and did you see her face? It's like a Picasso painting gone wrong!" another voice joined in, causing a chorus of laughter.
The hurt in my chest intensified, gathering some courage, I approached a passerby, normally dressed finally, I was hoping to find some answers.
"Excuse me," I began, my voice wavering slightly. "Can you tell me what's going on here? Why is everyone dressed so strangely?"
The passerby paused, giving me an odd look. "What are you talking about? It's Halloween, kid. People dress up in costumes."
"Halloween?" I repeated, bewildered. "But ... What's Halloween . And why is everyone laughing at me? What's the name of this pack?"
The passerby's confusion mirrored my own. "Kid, you really must be lost. I have no idea, what pack you're talking about? Maybe you should find a responsible adult."
I bit my lip, feeling my anxiety rise. This was all so overwhelming , there was too much weird light around me, blinking and changing color.
The sound of strange machines with rolling wheels on the road horns blared through the air, causing me to jump in surprise. I heard a piercing noise that almost pierced my eardrums, and I instinctively covered my ears.
My head swiveled around, searching for the source of the noise. I wasn't used to all this chaos and these noises were unfamiliar to me.
"In what weird pack was I. Damn it!"
Feeling a desperate need to escape the noise and confusion, I broke into a run. I dashed through the streets, desperately looking for somewhere to hide. Eventually, I found myself behind a big giant house, squeezing myself between a grimy dumpster and its concrete wall. It was the only place that seemed remotely safe.
But as I cowered in the cramped space, the smell assaulted my nose, causing me to gag. I couldn't stand the overpowering stench of garbage. It was suffocating, adding to my growing sense of unease. I had to get away from here, but where could I go?
" Moon goddess please help your daughter!" I exclaimed feeling desperated.
Lost and alone, I sank to the ground, my mind a whirlwind of unanswered questions. I just remembered being chased by Stone-heart guards and tripping over a branch and falling, then it was the black hole.
Traumatized, I took slow, cautious steps along the alley behind the big , giant house.
My eyes fixated on a disturbing scene unfolding before me. A group of young people mercilessly beat a defenseless man lying on the weird ground. Questions flooded my mind. Why didn't the man shift into his wolf form to defend himself? What was happening here?
Fear gripped my heart as I pressed myself against the wall, hidden from view. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the brutal assault taking place. I felt so sorry for the boy that those bullies beat, I mean he just lay on the weird ground letting himself be beaten .
"S-Stop! Leave him alone!" I called out, my voice shaking with fear and desperation.
The assailants halted momentarily, glancing in my direction, their anger and sadistic glee turning to curiosity. One of them sneered, "Well, well, well. What do we have here?"
"Please, I won't say anything! Just let me go," I pleaded, my voice trembling.
Laughter erupted from the group, mocking my desperate plea. "Oh, look at this one begging for mercy! Ain't she pathetic?" one of them jeered.
"Come on, boys, let's make it a party!" another one yelled, his voice filled with sadistic delight.
As they closed in on me, their laughter grew louder, mocking my desperate plea. Ignoring my words, they raised their fists, ready to strike. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the pain that I knew was coming.
And then, in a moment of primal instinct, a surge of power coursed through my veins. Without hesitation, I shifted into my wolf form, a protective barrier against their aggression. A startled silence fell over the alley as their eyes widened in astonishment.
One of the aggressors stammers, "W-What the...? Is that really a... a wolf?"
Another one whispers in disbelief, "N-No way. That's not possible, right? How can he just... transform like that?"
A third person, awestruck, mutters, "Damn, this girl's something else. We should probably back off. Like, right now."
the first attacker took a step forward and said "Come on guys! It's just a disguise!"
The others also came forward and in a moment of fear I growled to stop them from advancing towards me.
Instead of bravery, their faces twisted with terror. They screamed, scrambling to escape my wrath . Even the man who had been beaten managed to find strength and fled even without thanks me.
Confusion swirled within me as I watched them retreat. What had just happened?
As the adrenaline subsided, my wolf form dissolved, and I returned to my human self. Shaking and dazed, I struggled to comprehend the events unfolding before me. What had triggered their fear?
Was it because of my wolf form? I couldn't help but wonder if their pack was different from mine.
With a heavy sigh, I decided that it was best to refrain from shifting into my wolf form until I fully understood the dynamics of this new pack. I didn't want to unwittingly incite fear or panic among its pack member. But now, another pressing matter took precedence - hunger gnawed at my stomach, reminding me of my needs as a living being
I made my way back to the busy street, scanning my surroundings for any potential food source. Hoping to come across a food vendor or a kind soul willing to help.
As I walked, my senses sharpened, keeping me alert to any potential dangers. But in my distracted state, I didn't notice the strange four-wheeled machine speeding towards me until it barely missed hitting me. My heart pounded in my chest as I regained my bearings.
The machine came to a screeching halt, my heart still pounding as I watched
an arrogant-looking young man stepped out a mixture of anger and disbelief on his face.
"What the hell were you doing?!" he shouted, his voice laced with irritation.
I blinked, still trying to process what had just happened, as his words registered in my mind. "I... I didn't see you coming," I stammered, my voice barely audible.
"No shit!" he exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief. "You must be blind or something. Watch where you're going, idiot!" He snapped, his tone dripping with snobbishness.
I flinched at his harsh words, feeling tears prickling at the corners of my eyes. But as I looked into his eyes, my anger dissipated, replaced with a strange sense of enchantment. There was something about him that captivated me, despite his brusque demeanor.
He paused for a moment, seemingly taken aback by something.
His eyes were a mesmerizing shade of blue, and his chiseled features were almost too perfect to be real. "I'm sorry," I mumbled, unable to tear my eyes away from him.
He sneered at me, his disdain palpable. "Of course you are," he replied, his voice laced with mockery . Without another word, he got back in his machine and sped off, leaving me breathless and utterly stunned by his beauty.
It was then that I realized that in this strange pack, danger and beauty seemed to go hand in hand. I couldn't help but wonder what other surprises this pack had in store for me.
