Chapter 1 Prologue: I died

"VALERIE YOU ARE FIRED!" My direct supervisor Kevin yelled slamming a termination letter down on the the table between us.

"What are you talking about?" I demanded.

Why would I be getting fired? I had worked with the company for two years now, had never been written up, had never broken a rule. Why would I be fired?

Unless.....

No, no way, there was absolutely no way this disgusting pig was firing me because I turned him down. He couldn't be, right?

"What grounds?" I asked Kevin slowly narrowing my eyes.

"Your performance has gone down the drain Valerie." Kevin said smirking.

My performance had gone down the drain....

Right, this had nothing to do with my performance and no amount of times he said would change that fact.

"Give me an example." I said slamming my hands on the table. "Where has my performance gone down?"

If he wanted to claim that was it then he would need to prove it to me, otherwise I would happily go above his head. If he thought I was easy to bully he had another thing coming.

Kevin had begun to squirm under my defiance, good he better be squirming. I would be damned if he was going to get one up on me.

"I don't need to show you anything." He said beginning to look cocky again. "However...." oh there it was. "I'd be willing to overlook it if you're willing to scratch my back, if you know what I mean."

And there it was folks, this had nothing to do with my work performance and everything to do with me rejecting this sleaze a few weeks back.

"I will pass." Grimacing I tried to not even think about how disgusting he was being right now. "I will just take this with the higher ups."

Turning I started making my way to the door, I couldn't continue to look at that disgusting pig any longer.

The sound of chair legs scraping against the ground came from behind followed by quick footsteps. It seemed that Kevin wasn't going to let me leave that easily.

Picking up my pace I quickly reached the door and began opening it only to have a meaty hand fly past my face before connecting with the door before me. With a loud bang it was slammed shut trapping me inside.

Whirling around I came face to face with a very red faced and crazed looking Kevin.

"What the hell are you doing?" I hissed backing up a few steps so he wasn't directly on top of me. "MOVE YOUR HAND RIGHT NOW!"

"Or what?" Kevin cackled beginning to lean in close. "What is a defenseless woman like you going to do to me if I don't?"

I could feel a shiver run up my spine at Kevin's words. If I actually was a defenseless woman as he said, then maybe I would be in trouble. However, defenseless was something I absolutely wasn't and he was about to find out that I wasn't the one to be trying to take advantage of.

"I'm giving you one chance to get the hell back and let me leave." I warned steeling myself, if he was smart he would take this chance, otherwise, well, he couldn't blame me.

Tilting back his head Kevin let out a loud laugh that echoed around the room, before fixing his deranged gaze on me.

"Go ahead what will you do?" He puffed inbetween cackles. "Is the weak little Valerie going to beat me up?"

Instead of responding I reached up grabbing Kevin's hair, quickly pulling down I allowed my knee to connect with his face. A crunching sound filled the air as his nose broke from the impact. So taken off guard Kevin removed his hand from the door allowing me to escape.

"YOU BITCH!" He wailed grabbing his face as blood began to ooze. "You're going to pay for this!"

"I'm not going to stick around to pay for anything." I responded eyeing the door.

Taking my chance I lunged foward yanking the door open and made my way out into the hallway.

Not bothering to look back I raced towards the stairs that would lead to my escape.

It was still early morning and everyone else hadn't appeared for work yet. I had only come at this time because I had recieved a message from Kevin in regards to a big project that was currently being worked on. Never in my wildest dreams would I have known that he had lied to get me alone.

I had managed to reach the stairwell when I heard Kevin huffing and puffing behind me. Taking the first step I tried to start my descent only to feel my hair get yanked from behind.

Yelping I began trying to claw at his hand to make him let me go.

"You stupid bitch!" Kevin growled pulling hard enough to send me flying backwards and into a wall.

Feeling all the air leave my lungs I gasped and began to try to suck in deep breaths while scrambling to get off the floor. Kevin had begun to make his way towards me and he looked like he was ready to kill.

"HELP!" I screamed hoping that maybe someone had arrived early. "HELP ME!"

"No one is here." Kevin laughed as he grabbed me by my neck. "You shouldn't have gone against me Valerie. I could have been good to you, but now...."

Kevin trailed off as he began pushing me towards the stair by my neck. Try as I might he was just too strong for me.

"THIS IS MURDER!" I hissed as the floor beneath my feet began to disappear.

"You think I care?" Kevin asked smilingly wickedly. "No one will ever know I was the one that did it."

Finished speaking Kevin released my neck as I began to fall backwards. Eyes widening I grasped around for something, anything, to stop myself even though I knew deep down that it was pointless.

Looking up I caught Kevin's happy gaze, blowing a kiss he turned and walked away as my entire world turned black.

Chapter 2 In A Stranger's Bed

Pressure against my arms and torso was the first thing I noticed when my conciousness began to come forth once more. From the feel of it someone was laying on top of me and moving wasn't an option. Try as I might the person's grip was too strong and wouldn't budge in the slightest.

Opening my eyes I looked up to find a man hovering above me. Not any man but an attractive man with snow white skin that showed blue veins beneath it, dark hair with white streaks through it that hung loosely around his face, and glowing red eyes. His mouth that was smirking was open just enough to reveal two sharp canines that looked ready to rip into my flesh any minute.

"You finally woke up." His cold voice laughed sending a shiver through me. "I thought you were dead."

"What's going on?" I asked slowly as the last bit of confusion faded from my mind. "What are you doing? Let me go!"

Beginning to wriggle I tried to break free again, but the man was strong, too strong. Keeping his firm grip he watched me with a curious expression.

"Let me go!" I snapped as his grip tightened sending pain shooting through my arms.

"Not until you tell me why you are in my bed." The man said leaning in closer so his ice cold breath caressed my skin. "No woman, especially a human, has ever touched this bed."

Why I was in his bed? Good question, why was I here and thinking on it, who was I? Why couldn't I remember anything past waking up where I was?

"What did you do to me!" I yelled beginning to struggle more as panic washed through me. "Why can't I remember anything?"

Getting up the man narrowed his gaze at me as anger flashed in his red eyes.

"What do you mean you can't remember anything? Don't try to save yourself with lies." He hissed frowning.

"I'M NOT LYING!" I screamed fully overcome with fear. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?"

Why couldn't I remember even my name? And where the hell was I? Why was I in some strange man's bed? My heart that had begun to pound plummetted to my feet as my panic began to turn to fear.

"Stop yelling." The man growled placing a hand over my mouth. "Do you want to wake up the entire castle?"

Castle? Did he just say castle? Were we currently in a castle? Then what did that make this dude?

"Mmmph mmmph," not even a single word could escape from my mouth past this man's hand.

Grabbing hold of his wrist I began trying to pry it away as breathing began to become difficult. If he continued to do this there was a chance I was going to pass out or die altogether.

"Will you yell again if I remove my hand?" He asked as I continued to try to fight him off.

"Mmmmph" I tried to say no but damnit he was stopping me!

Narrowing his gaze at me the man removed his hold over my mouth allowing me to begin sucking in deep lungfuls of air. Narrowing his gaze he watched me repeat this act over and over as if I was some type of strange creature that he couldn't understand.

"Now tell me who you are." The man demanded fixing his red gaze on me. "And don't you dare try to claim that you don't remember."

"I told you I don't know!" I snapped beginning to get frustrated. "You can ask a million times and the answer will remain the same!"

"I'm warning you." The man's voice had developed a hint of warning. "If you keep up this act then I will have no choice but to kill you."

"THEN KILL ME!" I yelled defiantely. "I'VE TOLD YOU I DON'T KNOW AND THAT MEANS I DON'T KNOW!"

"SHUT UP!"

Lunging forward the man grabbed me by my neck slamming me against the bed. His red gaze had turned completely black as he growled.

"I warned you to not play games." He said tightening his hold on my throat. "I have no patience for games, especially from humans like you."

"This... isn't...." I tried as my wind pipe was crushed by the now very angry man hovering over me. "A... game."

Getting the words out was damn near impossible, but I wasn't about to let him make me out to be a liar when I was telling the truth.

Not satisfied with my words he began to dig his long nails into my flesh causing a gasp to escape me.

"Are you perhaps a spy sent by the holy knights?" He asked leaning in closer. "Or maybe you are a rogue who wants to kill me and usurp the throne."

What the hell was this fella talking about? I had no idea what these holy knights he spoke of was and I had no desire to have any throne. I didn't know what this guy so paranoid, but somewhere in my heart I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

"Can't even argue?" He hissed. "Does this mean I was spot on."

Lifting a hand I pointed to the hand he still had wrapped tightly around my throat as a way to show him why I couldn't speak.

"Can't...." I puffed as I felt my mind beginning to drift again from lack of oxygen.

Letting go he stepped back and watched as I sat up breathing deeply. I didn't know if I should be grateful he spared me or not, but I wasn't about to tell him thank you.

"I've got a way to make you talk since you refuse to be obedient." He said pulling me towards him. "If I discover you are lying to me you won't like the consequences."

"What ways...." I began only to stop mid sentence as the man's mouth landed on my neck.

At first I couldn't quite comprehend what it was he was doing, at least not until I felt two sharp pricks as his teeth pushed through the delicate skin beneath it.

"No...." I gasped as they moved in even deeper. "Let...."

I wasn't able to finish my sentence as I felt a tug at my conciousness as I was being pulled into darkness.

Chapter 3 Be My Slave

A dull ache began in the spot that the man had inserted his teeth that grew gradually by every minute until it had become a searing agonizing pain that clawed at my mind and at my body. Whimpering I tried to free myself only to be held steady.

"You aren't going anywhere." Came the man's voice from all around as the pain intensified.

Letting out a scream I felt myself become completely overcome by what could only be described as burning, it felt like I was being burned alive before it all stopped and I was left floating in a dark abyss.

Looking around I tried to figure out exactly where I was. There seemed to be no signs of life and no light to be found. I couldn't even see my hand as I lifted it directly in front of my face. If I didn't know any better I would think that I had died and this was what came after.

As I tried to figure out what exactly was going on a small shuffling and then grunt drew my attention. Whirling I tried to find the cause of the noise, but came up short handed.

Around me I could hear the shuffling and grunting growing louder as a voice began to let out unrecognizable words. It seemed that it was looking for something but wasn't able to find it and that was making its frustrations grow. I didn't quite know how I knew that was what was going on, but I could just feel it as if I myself was the one experiencing it. Odd.

"Why....." a deep voice rumbled as I began to feel like I was suffocating. "Why is there nothing?" The voice sounded on the edge of snapping as it spoke.

Opening my mouth I attempted to speak only to have the voice give a bellowing growl of rage at not being able to discover what it wanted.

With a jerk I was falling and then crashing against something hard and cold. In my chest my heart was pounding rapidly as a cold sweat sprung up on my skin. It seemed that I was back in my body once more.

Opening my eyes I stared into anger filled red eyes that looked hungry for blood.

"How is it you have no memories?" The man demanded grabbing me by my shoulders. "Why kind of trick is this?"

"I told you." I chuckled locking my gaze with his. "I can't remember anything, not even my own name. You shoud learn to trust people more."

The man narrowed his gaze at me as his huner filled eyes looked at my lips before resting on the spot on my neck where my jugular would be located.

"Should I just kill you then?" He mused as a sinister smile began forming on his face. "It isn't like you are useful to me anyway."

Was this man really talking about killing me right in front of my face? And he was even doing it with a smile.

"Can't you just let me go?" I asked slowly even though it sounded absolutely ridiculous even to me. "It isn't like I'm a threat to you."

The man smirked, "You snuck into the bedroom of a royal and expect to be let free? Most would be beheaded on the spot, I gave you a curtesy by allowing you to live this long."

The bedroom of a royal? Was this man saying that he was royalty? What the hell had I woken up to? What kind of place was this exactly?

"How about we make a deal." I tried as fear of being killed right here and now began to squeeze at my heart.

"A deal?" The man asked lifting an eyebrow. "Why would I possibly make a deal with a pathetic human?"

"Because I can be useful to you." I tried forcing a smile. "Since I'm a human doesn't that mean that I can pretend to be part of your enemy and sneak in and get information for you?"

It was probably an absolutely ridiculous idea, but I wanted to live damnit!

"What makes you think I need you to do anything for me?" He asked with a chuckle. It seemed he wasn't going to give in so easily.

"Because it could help you get the upperhand." I pointed out. "Or, I could become your servant. I could cook, clean, do the laundry, and I can be a blood source for you since I'm human. I'm like a walking blood bank at your disposal."

I realized that I had begun to ramble, but my nerves were getting the best of me and I was pulling everything out my ass as I went. I didn't want to die and I needed this guy to agree to keeping me alive under some deal or another.

"Blood source?" He asked as amusement began to light his face. "Are you openly asking me to drink your blood? Did you enjoy it that much?"

No I didn't enjoy it, it was extremely painful, but I wasn't ready to die yet!

"Sure, yeah, I enjoyed it." I said quickly trying not to grimace.

Tilting his head back the man gave a loud laugh that filled the room around us.

"You're quite amusing human." He said fixing his red gaze on me once more. "Fine, I will give you a chance to prove your worth."

"Really?" I asked beginning to perk up. "What do you want me to do?"

The man allowed a broad smile to form on his face as his eyes pointedly looked to my breasts.

"I will keep you alive, but in return you are going to be my slave." He said slowly. "And as my slave your first order is to please me."

Please him? Did he just say please him? Was I misinterpretting his words here?

"Please you?" I repeated trying to keep my voice from cracking. "What do you mean exactly?"

"Are you really questioning my order after you tried so hard to convince me to make a deal?" The man asked sitting on his bed.

Resting one leg on top of the other he watched me with a bemused expression waiting for me to decided what I was going to do.

Taking a deep breath I tried to calm my racing heart as I realized exactly what it was that he wanted from me. Fixing my eyes with his I grabbed the hem of my shirt ready to begin trying to save my ass.
