When Wesley saw that little boy with all the features that resembled his, he realized that he still has a chance to make it right. Their story has just begun.

Chapter 1 Divorce Agreement

Taiwan International Hotel

The bright sunlight outside entered the room through the gap between the thick curtains, casting a warm glow. On the bed lay a woman who was sleeping soundly. Soft tendrils of hair framed her gorgeous face. When she turned over in her sleep, the dark silk duvet slipped down, revealing her beautiful naked back. There were faint hickeys on her snow-white skin, a memento of the events of the previous night.

Suddenly, the phone rang, breaking the tranquil silence in the room. The woman stirred and slowly sat up, pushing her fringe out of her face as she tried to clear her cloudy mind.

As she moved, the duvet covering her slipped down, revealing her entire upper body. She instinctively pulled up the duvet and, wincing at the incessant ringing sound, finally picked up the phone.

"Hester, come home right now!"

As soon as she answered the phone, she heard an extremely angry voice shouting at her, making her head pound all of a sudden. Before she could respond, the person on the other end of the call had already hung up. Of course, it was none other than her childhood sweetheart and now husband, Davis Tong.

She had gotten married to him at a young age, like in a fairy tale. Upon hearing his tone, she knew that something must have happened, so she immediately put down the phone and jerked into action. She got out of bed and picked up the clothes strewn on the floor before getting dressed at lightning speed.

Then, she walked into the bathroom and tidied up a little. After that, she strode over to the bedside table to grab her phone. Just as she bent down to pick it up, however, she noticed a check lying beside it. After seeing the account number and signature on it, she quickly turned her head and looked at the bed next to her.

The bed was a total mess, as if she had tossed and turned the whole night.

Hester Gu reached out and patted her head. She had drunk too much last night, not to mention that she had been awakened so suddenly this morning, so her mind was in a state of confusion and she could not recall what had happened last night at all.

Looking at the phone in her other hand, she suddenly remembered the phone call just now and ran out the suite without thinking any further.

A while later, Hester Gu arrived at a mansion surrounded by beautiful scenery. She rushed up the stairs, took out the key, and opened the door. When she walked to the living room, she saw everyone in the house standing there with solemn looks on their faces, as if they were at a funeral.

It was only then that she realized that something was wrong. She turned to her in-laws and greeted, "Dad, Mom..."

"Hester, what do you think of yourself?" Before she could finish her words, Davis Tong walked forward and interrupted her, throwing a bunch of photos at her with anger written all over his face.

Hester Gu squatted down and picked up the photos he had thrown in front of her one by one. The photos showed a man and a woman walking into a five-star hotel at night. Although she couldn't tell who the man was, she could clearly see that the woman in the photo was her. For a moment, she felt like the breath had been knocked out of her.

Then, as if realizing where she was, she stood up in a hurry and turned to her husband. "Davis, listen to me..."

"Do you think there's anything to explain?" Davis Tong asked sharply, cutting her off again before she could say anything else. "What reason can you possibly give to explain such a dirty thing?" "I..."

Hester Gu shook her head helplessly. She really wanted to explain it, but after seeing those photos, she felt lost as well. The memory of last night lingered in her mind, but every time she felt like she was close to recalling it, it slipped out of her reach. She felt like she was grasping at nothing but air.

"All right, stop." At last, her father-in-law stepped in and said, "What can be proven by just some photos? With the current technology, everything can be faked."

"I want a divorce," Davis Tong said firmly without giving any room for negotiation. When he looked at Hester Gu, his face was full of disgust, as if he had seen his wife in bed with another man.

"No! Hester is and will always be our daughter-in-law," Davis Tong's mother, who had been silent so far, finally said, trying to calm her son down before he did anything too drastic.

"I can't live with someone who did such a shameless thing. I want a divorce," Davis Tong said again in a determined voice. Then, he placed a document on the tea table.

Hester Gu rushed over to Davis Tong and grabbed his shirt, knowing what the document was without even looking at it. "I know I made a mistake! I know it was wrong! But I will make up for it, I promise. Don't divorce me, okay?" she begged desperately.

But Davis just reached out and pulled her hands away, and his face twisted in disgust. "Don't touch me. I feel sick just looking at you."

All of a sudden, Hester froze, feeling like she had been stabbed in the heart. She had never expected such words to come out of her husband's mouth.

She wanted to stay married to him for the rest of her life, but for him, their marriage had become something repulsive. She felt so aggrieved that she couldn't hold in the tears that silently fell down her face.

Davis was the man that she had wanted to marry since she was young, and the man that she had loved for so many years since then. "Please don't talk about divorce, Davis, I beg you. I can't live without you... "

This time, Davis didn't interrupt her with words, but with a slap. Hester froze in shock, feeling her cheek burn with pain. Even the tears in her eyes stopped falling.

Davis' reaction had been so unexpected that even his parents, who had been about to try to dissuade him, held back their words.

"Your tears are worthless. Who are you crying for? I've already made up my mind. Sign the papers," Davis said mercilessly, staring straight at Hester without any emotion in his eyes.

"How dare you! If you dare to divorce her, don't ever enter the house of the Tong family again," his father said, suddenly becoming enraged.

Davis turned his gaze from Hester to his parents, but his firm eyes never changed. Then, without saying another word, he stormed out of the gates of the Tong family's mansion.

The entire family watched him leave, holding their breaths. It was only when the door slammed shut with a loud bang behind him that Hester snapped back to reality. She slowly turned her eyes to the document that sat on the tea table. With her heart pounding, she reached out and picked it up. When she saw the words "divorce agreement" on it, her hand trembled and let go of the document.

As it fell to the floor, Hester collapsed onto the ground too, staring blankly at the place where Davis had signed his name. Her tears finally began to fall again.

Chapter 2 The Return Of The King

Six years later, at the international airport of H City

"Wesley! Wesley!" The VIP exit of the airport was completely surrounded by a crowd of people. Some of them were holding up posters of a handsome man's face, while others were holding fan signs decorated with doodles and glitter. However, all of them were shouting the same name,

their voices getting louder and louder by the second.

In the middle of this noise and chaos,

a man walked out of the VIP exit surrounded by a group of assistants and staff. Although his eyes were covered by a pair of sunglasses, it was obvious from the contours of his face, his tall nose, and his thick rose lips that he was an extremely good-looking man. His brown hair was tousled from the journey, but still sleek and shiny.

With his appearance, the crowd around the VIP exit began shouting even louder, as if the louder they shouted, the longer this handsome man would stay here.

Wesley raised his hand and waved at the excited people on both sides. At the same time, the corners of his mouth slowly raised into a perfect arc.

His dazzling smile made all the women surrounding him swoon.

Slowly but surely, he was escorted through the crowd by his staff until he got into the car that had been waiting there for a long time.

As Wesley drove the white limited edition Cadillac away, the screaming of his fans finally faded away. He sighed in relief and turned on some music. As he drove, a big poster at a newspaper kiosk caught his attention. It was a picture of him with just a few words: "Superstar Wesley has returned after six years."

With a smirk, he turned the steering wheel and parked the car next to the newspaper kiosk. He carefully put on his sunglasses before walking to the kiosk.

He reached out for the most conspicuous magazine, but before he could touch it, someone else grabbed it out of his reach. Wesley turned to his side to see who had taken the magazine but couldn't see anyone standing there. For a moment, he was perplexed. Then, he heard a small voice.

"I want to buy this."

Wesley lowered his head and realized that the person who had grabbed the magazine first was actually a child. The small boy was holding the magazine in his left hand and the money in his right hand, standing on his tiptoes as he tried to reach the counter.

The middle-aged woman at the counter took the money from the boy and gave him five dollars in return.

The boy looked at the money and then at the magazine, a frown slowly appearing on his face. Then, tiptoeing once again, he looked up at the woman at the counter and asked, "How much is this magazine?"

"Fifteen dollars."

Wesley understood why the boy had asked this question. When the boy had been reaching out to hand over the money to the woman at the counter, he had clearly seen a fifty dollar note in the boy's hand.

"You've given me the wrong amount of change," the boy said, holding up the five dollar note for the woman to see.

"Little boy, you just gave me twenty dollars. The magazine costs fifteen. So, I've given you five dollars as change."

Wesley was about to cut in and argue with the woman, but before he could, the boy retorted, "No, I gave you a hundred dollars!"

Wesley paused in surprise. He hadn't expected the little boy to lie. What he couldn't believe was that such a young boy had already learned how to trick people!

"What are you talking about? You only gave me fifty dollars," the woman blurted out without thinking. It was only after she finished her sentence that she realized her mistake.

"Since you know that I gave you fifty dollars, why did you say that I only gave you twenty just now?" the boy asked calmly.

In contrast, the woman was extremely flustered and embarrassed. She took out the remaining change and handed it to the boy without saying anything.

As the boy took the thirty dollars from her, he said, "You shouldn't try to fool children. It's not right!" Then, he slowly walked away.

Looking at the boy's receding figure, Wesley couldn't help smiling. He couldn't believe that a small boy of about six years old could be smart enough to beat a middle-aged woman who had tried to trick him. The woman had actually ended up falling into his trap. In fact, even Wesley had fallen for it and thought that the boy was lying out of greed.

He picked up another copy of the magazine that he had originally reached for and paid for it. The woman at the counter was still feeling so embarrassed that she didn't even realize that Wesley was actually the star on the cover of the magazine. With the magazine in hand, Wesley turned around and walked towards his car.

At that time, he happened to cross the boy who had bought the magazine. There was a woman walking next to the boy, holding his hand.

Wesley casually walked past them, but just as he was about to reach his car, he suddenly stopped and turned to look at them. However, they were nowhere to be seen.

His eyes flitted around as he tried to find them, but all he saw was a few people excitedly walking towards him.

Ignoring them, he walked back to the newspaper kiosk and asked the woman at the counter, "Excuse me, did you see where that boy went? The one who just bought the magazine?"

"He went that way," the woman answered, pointing to the right.

"Thank you."

Wesley immediately rushed in that direction.

There were a lot more people here than there had been at the newspaper kiosk, but he dashed into the busy street, not caring about whether he would be recognized or not.

But everywhere he looked, there was no sign of the boy and the woman next to him. Standing in the middle of the busy street, Wesley looked around anxiously, but the two of them seemed to have disappeared without a trace.

"Wesley?" a young woman said, standing in front of him with her eyes widened in disbelief. "It's really Wesley!"

Her voice caught everyone's attention. Soon, Wesley was surrounded by adoring fans.

"Wesley, please take a picture with me." "Wesley, can you give me your autograph?" As the crowd started clamoring for his attention, Wesley became even more fretful,

upset that they were distracting him from finding the boy and the woman. Just when he was about to lose his temper, he noticed two familiar figures outside the crowd.

"Wait, wait..." He tried to get rid of the people around him but failed. In the end, he could do nothing but watch the two familiar figures disappear around the corner of the street.

At this moment, the security guards of the mall nearby came over to keep order. With their efforts, Wesley finally managed to escape from the excited fans.

Then, he rushed towards the corner of the street where he had seen the two of them disappear.

Chapter 3 He Is My Daddy, Right

A black Benz stopped at the side of the road. A man in a straight suit got out of the car and shouted at Wesley, who was running down the street. "Wesley!"

However, Wesley ignored him and continued running down the street. The man hurriedly followed him until the corner of the street, where Wesley stood, looking around.

Following Wesley's gaze, the man looked around and asked, "What's wrong, Wesley?"

"Ryan, I saw her..." Wesley breathed, shaking his head helplessly. With his eyes still fixed on the surroundings, he didn't even look at his agent, Ryan Gao.

For his part, Ryan Gao immediately knew who Wesley was talking about. "There are so many people here. You probably just imagined it."

"No way!"

Looking at the determined look on Wesley's face, Ryan shook his head and said, "You go back first. I'll send someone to investigate."

Being a superstar, Wesley couldn't linger around in a busy street. Otherwise, he would be surrounded by fans again.

Knowing that he couldn't find her now anyway, Wesley nodded and finally walked back to his car.

Meanwhile, in a cozy house with simple decor, Peter Gu was sitting on the sofa in the living room and flipping through the magazine that he had just bought from the newspaper kiosk. When he saw the photos of Wesley in the cover story of the magazine, a childish smile appeared on his face.

"Peter, come here. I made your favorite dish." Hester walked out of the kitchen and put a bowl of minced pork noodles in front of Peter Gu.

"Wow! It smells so good," Peter Gu exclaimed, clapping his hands excitedly. The aroma of the noodles made him put the magazine aside and start to devour the dish in front of him.

As Hester watched her son eat the noodles with relish, a satisfied smile appeared on her face. However, she still couldn't understand why Peter liked this particular dish so much. Minced pork noodles was a popular snack in Taiwan, but Peter had grown up in H City of the mainland, so why did he have an affinity for a Taiwanese snack? Could it be because his father was from Taiwan?

Hester shook her head, laughing to herself about her own ridiculous conclusion. Peter's carefree growth had almost made her forget what had happened six years ago.

She reached out and rubbed his head affectionately. At that moment, the magazine next to him caught her eye. She knew the handsome man on the cover of the magazine.

Of course, everyone in the country knew this 28-year-old superstar. Wesley was a popular star in the entertainment circle. In fact, he was a child star who had started on this path at a very young age. Six years ago, he had gone abroad for his studies, but now, he had finally returned.

Although six long years had passed, his fans were still just as crazy about him.

'No wonder those girls couldn't forget him. He's such a handsome man!' Hester thought as she stared at the magazine.

"Peter, is this what you ran away to buy?" she asked curiously. Earlier, when they had gone out for shopping, Peter had suddenly let go of her hand and said that he wanted to buy something. Until now, she had thought that he had bought a toy or something similar, but it turned out that he had actually bought a magazine.

"Yes," Peter answered as he chewed the noodles with his mouth open.

"Why?" Hester frowned. A magazine with a cover of a handsome man would only attract women. Why would a small boy want to buy it?

Putting down his chopsticks, Peter motioned to the magazine cover and shot a meaningful look at his mother. "Don't you think he looks like someone?"

Hester looked at the magazine cover once again. This time, she suddenly felt that Wesley looked like the bastard from six years ago, perhaps because of the angle, or because she had been thinking of that night just now.

Then, she smiled helplessly and shook her head. How could she call that stranger a bastard when she was the one who had destroyed her own marriage? "Don't you think he resembles me?

Tell me the truth, Mom. He's my father, right?"

Hester couldn't help but burst out into laughter. Then, upon seeing the serious look on Peter's face, she stopped and forced a smile. "Come on, Peter. He is a big star, okay? Besides, he is older than you. You're the one who looks like him."

"Don't change the topic, okay?" Peter said seriously. The artificial smile on Hester's face disappeared, and she said,

"He's not your father. You think too much."

"Okay." After staring at Hester for a few seconds to make sure that she wasn't lying, Peter turned to look at the magazine cover and rested his chin on his hands. "Why does everyone have a father except me?" he grumbled unhappily.

Hester stayed silent, feeling a pang of guilt.

She knew that although Peter was sensible enough not to bring up this topic often, he really wanted to know who his father was. He had mentioned it today only because he had seen all the other children being picked up by their fathers after school.

Unfortunately, there was nothing Hester could do about it except compensate with more maternal love. Even after six years, she still wasn't sure who Peter's father was.

Her gaze subconsciously turned towards the room where she kept the check from six years ago. She didn't know whether Peter was Davis' son, or the son of the man who had given her the check.

In any case, she knew that the most she could do for Peter was tell him who the father was. After all, she could not give him a warm family.

Time really did heal all wounds. Over the past six years, she had slowly forgotten the pain that she had suffered after Davis had walked out on her. She had accepted that both of them were in the wrong. Before, she had always thought that she couldn't live without Davis. But as time went by, she had gradually realized that she had only thought that because she had never tried living without him.

Besides, in the past six years, she had also remembered some problems that she hadn't thought of before. For example, how had Davis gotten those photos of her that night? He must have had someone following her. But why? He couldn't have known that she would have a one night stand with someone. For what other reason would he have sent someone to follow her?

Anyway, it was all in the past. Hester turned her eyes to Peter, who was smacking his lips happily as he ate the noodles. A smile slowly appeared on her melancholy face. Fortunately, because of her sensible son, she had never felt lonely during the past six years.

As she thought of the past, she couldn't help but think of another person who had always been there for her. Without his help, she would never have been able to have such a happy life now.
