Chapter 1 CH 1

Laura's Point of View

I made my way to my tiny office. My desk is piled with papers, sticky notes, and an old coffee mug from yesterday's marathon of errands.

A few weeks passed, and I got used to working at Premium Trust. It's supposed to be a place where my dreams come true, but for me, it felt like a list of tasks.

The phone rang, snapping me out of my thoughts. It was Ms. Thompson, the executive assistant.

"Laura, could you please get Mr. Finch a latte? Make it a double shot with extra foam. Oh, and grab something for yourself too," Ms. Thompson said cheerfully.

"Sure thing, Ms. Thompson. I'm on it," I replied, trying not to sound pissed. I didn't want to meet the CEO. I had heard that Mr. Finch is strict and never smiles. No one wants to get on his bad side, especially not me because it was hard to get this job.

After waiting in a long line at the coffee shop, I returned to the office and knocked on my boss's door. I heard a cold voice saying, "Come in."

I opened the door and stepped inside, gasping at how beautiful the office was. Polished wood floors, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city, and sleek, minimalist furniture, it screamed power and authority. This was my first time inside Mr. Finch's office.

"Are you going to stand there until my coffee gets cold?" His sharp tone snapped me out of my daze.

I quickly walked to his desk, placing the coffee on his table. "Here you go, sir. I-"

He raised a hand to silence me, his piercing blue eyes meeting mine for the first time. My breath hitched.

He was... well, there was no polite way to put it, intimidatingly gorgeous. Strong jawline, short dark hair, and a presence so commanding it felt like the air had shifted in the room.

"Sit down, Laura," he commanded curtly, motioning to the chair opposite him.

My heart beat in my chest as I obeyed. He leaned back in his chair, picking up the coffee and taking a slow sip before placing the cup down.

"This is your first day, isn't it?"

"No, Mr. Finch. I've spent ten days in this company, " I replied softly, unsure where this was going.

"Interesting," he murmured, his tone laced with mockery.

"You've managed to cause more chaos ten than some employees do in a year."

I blinked, my stomach dropping."I....what do you mean, sir?"

His jaw tightened. He picked up a file from his desk and slid it toward me. "This. Tell me you didn't think it was a good idea to send this to Vanguard Industries."

I froze. My eyes darted to the file, recognizing the quarterly strategy report. My heart stopped as I realized my mistake. "I... Oh no. I... I didn't mean to-" I stammered.

"Didn't mean to?" His voice rose, and I shrank in my seat.

"Do you think I have time for excuses? That report contains information we've spent months developing. Now it's in the hands of our competition."

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. He shook his head, disgust evident on his face.

"I don't care if you're new, Laura. This is unacceptable. Do you know how much damage this could cause?" He stood, towering over me, his presence suffocating.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't fire you right now."

I swallowed hard, my mind racing. My hands clenched into fists as I forced myself to look him in the eye. "Because I can fix it, sir. Let me fix it."

His eyebrows rose, and for a moment, he seemed surprised. Then his expression hardened again.

"You've got until the end of the day," he said coldly, returning to his seat. "If I don't see results, you're done. Now get out."

I nodded quickly, rising from the chair. "Yes, Mr. Finch. Thank you for giving me a chance."

As I turned to leave, his voice stopped me. "And Laura?"

I paused, glancing back nervously. "Don't make me regret this or you lose your job."

I nodded again and hurried out of his office.

The day went on and on with me running errands, making copies, and organizing files. I was able to clear all my mistakes, and hopefully, I won't make any mistakes again throughout my stay in this office.

That evening, Kora texted me, insisting we celebrate at a club called 'Sin City'.

"I don't do clubs," I protested.

"You do tonight. It's my birthday!" she replied.

Reluctantly, I agreed, knowing I couldn't say no to Kora.

I couldn't argue with her. You can never win against Kora. And maybe I did need a break, even if it meant stepping out of my comfort zone.

The day went on and on with me running errands, making copies, and organizing files. I'm the one who keeps everything running smoothly without any recognition.

At five o'clock, I quickly packed up and headed home. After a shower and a quick dinner, I headed over to Kora's place.

"I got us entry passes to one of the most luxurious and exclusive clubs in the city," she said excitedly.

"A club?" I asked, shocked.

"Sin City is worth it, babe. I've heard nothing but good things. Have you seen their strippers online? It's trending, and I managed to get us in. It's my birthday, you can't say no. Remember, you agreed to celebrate," she said, bouncing with excitement.

"You might even meet someone to finally pop your cherry," she teased.

"I'm not giving myself to a total stranger," I said defensively, and she laughed.

"Kora, I don't feel comfortable in places like that," I muttered, adjusting my glasses.

"Oh, come on. You'll have a great time, I promise," she urged me, giving me those puppy eyes no one could resist.

"Fine, but I'm not staying long," I said, and she got so excited I almost changed my mind.

Kora couldn't stop talking about the male strippers at the exclusive club.

"Sin City," even the name sounds mysterious and a bit scary.

We arrived at the club late. The loud music and flashing lights made me feel out of place.

I noticed couples making out and dancing close together. The place wasn't too crowded since it was an exclusive club. I even spotted a few famous faces. I almost asked Kora how she got the tickets, but I was too shocked by what I saw next.

The waiters and waitresses were practically naked, only wearing small pieces to cover the front. They had masks on their faces, and I couldn't hide my surprise.

On stage, a female stripper was dancing sensually on a pole as the crowd cheered.

"Welcome to Sin City!" Kora yelled excitedly, laughing. I was glued to the scene in front of me.

"I'll get us drinks," Kora yelled, disappearing into the club.

The lights dimmed, and the crowd roared as a male performer took the stage. Dressed in a mask and leather pants, he moved with an intoxicating move. Water poured from above, glistening on his chiselled body as he danced. The dance looks very sexual and attractive.

For reasons I couldn't explain, my eyes stayed glued to him. There was something magnetic about him, something... familiar.

After the show, curiosity got the better of me. I found myself backstage, my heart racing as I followed him to a dressing room.

He walked into one of the dressing rooms, and it seemed like he knew someone was following him. I hid behind a dressing table, holding my breath. He came out and went into another room.

I quietly followed and entered the room after him. He must have felt my presence because he turned around, but this time without his mask.

As he turned around, my breath caught.

"Mr. Finch?"

I stumbled and almost fell from who I was seeing in front of me.

It was none other than my boss, the CEO of Premium Trust "BRYAN FINCH."

Chapter 2 CH 2

LAURA POV

The sound of me stumbling back caught his attention, and he narrowed in my direction. His gaze was just too hot and intimidating that I nearly fainted from his gaze.

When he turned and spotted me, his expression darkened.

"Ms. Laura," he said, his voice dangerously low.

"I... I don't...," I stammered, my mind racing to find an excuse, but the fear paralyzing me held my thoughts captive. I tried to escape, but just like the speed of light, I was caged in between him and the wall from behind. His hot breath hit my neck from behind.

"Come here," he ordered, cutting me off.

My feet moved before my brain could catch up, carrying me closer to him.

My heart beat crazily against my chest as I felt him so close, with his manhood directly making contact with my butt.

"You don't get to leave so fast Ms.Laura," his thick husky voice made me wet on my panties almost instantly.

How did he manage to get my name after our first encounter? I had never felt so flushed in my entire life as I turned towards him with cheeks as red as tomatoes. He had a silly smirk on his face.

"You don't get to leave until we have this conversation," he declared, as he bolted the door of the changing room, and walked towards the table while shamelessly taking off his belt like I wasn't in front of him.

If I used to think Mr Finch looked handsome in his office, then I wasn't ready for how dreamy the man looked half naked with his pants dangerously below his waist. Especially his eyes, the man looked almost unreal.

"I don't think I have anything to discuss with you, sir," I stuttered as my eyes moved from the stud on his ears to the diamond rings on his fingers.

"You saw too much," he said, his eyes locked on mine intimidatingly.

"I swear, I won't tell anyone," I blurted out, panic seeping into my voice.

He studied me for a moment, then smirked. "You'd better not. For your sake."

He continued, "It is not a surprise that you know who I am. After all, I believe we have met," as he tucked both hands in the pocket of his pants.

"I work for you, and I was the one that brought you coffee...." I responded, and he raised his eyebrows. He didn't seem to be intrigued by the information.

He chuckled softly, the sound both mocking and unnervingly captivating. "Do you think your little errand matters to me? You've seen too much, Ms. Laura. That alone makes this very personal."

His words were a warning, and I didn't miss the threat laced in them. Still, the question nagging at me escaped before I could stop it.

"Why would someone like you, wealthy and powerful, need to strip at a club? It doesn't make sense," I blurted out.

His expression darkened instantly, his gaze icy as he took a threatening step closer. "It's not supposed to make sense to you because it's none of your business!"

I flinched at his tone, but the stubborn part of me refused to back down. "It may not be my business, but I saw you," I said, my voice shaking.

His jaw tightened, and for a brief moment, he seemed caught off guard. Then he let out a humourless laugh. "Blackmail? How predictable."

"I didn't say that!" I retorted quickly, but he was already advancing on me.

"People like you," he sneered, his voice dripping with hatred. "Always clawing for an advantage, scrambling for scraps, thinking you can rise above your station."

"Maybe I am," I shot back, my heart beating rapidly.

"The world revolves around those who take what they want," he said, his smirk growing.

"And people like you that are scrambling for scraps will never understand that." he completely.

"Excuse me," I muttered, attempting to take control of the situation, though the smirk on his face told me he wasn't fooled.

"I will not resign," I informed.

"Why, if I may ask?" Mr Finch laughed, and asked, as he narrowed his eyes at me.

"If you're planning to syphon more money from me, then you clearly don't know who you're messing with," he uttered.

For a moment, he was silent, his eyes narrowing as though he were sizing me up. Then he smiled, a cold, calculating smile that sent a chill down my spine.

"Very well," he said finally. "Let's make a deal."

"A deal?" I echoed, my voice barely steady.

"Yes," he replied. "You keep quiet about what you saw tonight, and I'll..." He trailed off, leaning in so close I could feel the heat radiating from him. "Let you keep your precious job."

I felt my breath hitch as his lips brushed against my ear. "But don't think for a second that I trust you, Ms. Laura. I'll be watching."

I hated the fact that I wasn't controlling my emotions around this arrogant man.

"Get out!" He snapped, and I gave him a long last look before walking out of the dressing room. I slowly walked back to the club too shocked to even say anything.

"Where were you, babe? I thought something bad happened to you," Kora uttered worriedly, as we made our way out of the club.

"Don't tell me you decided to get yourself some good man because you look flushed," she mumbled, and I remembered how his front caused some sweet sensations to my body.

"I just want to get some sleep," I muttered, too tired to even stop and think about the day's events.

I arrived home quite late, and I went straight to my room. As I lay down to sleep the memories of the entire night came rushing into my head. What have I gotten myself into??

The next morning, I freshened up and wore a black skirt that hugged me in the right places and a decent dress shirt. Making sure to look very professional, Paired it with nude coloured heels and my glasses.

I walked in on Kora making breakfast.

"Are you up and ready for work?" she asked, as she served pancakes on my table.

"I can't go to work after last night's event, my head bangs with headache," she uttered, and I chuckled as I sat on the chair next to her.

"You need to stock up your kitchen girl. I couldn't find anything useful," she said, and I just sighed softly.

"I know things are hard, but forget all your debt and try to live healthy," she advised, and I just smiled.

After breakfast, I got out and boarded a taxi to Premium Trust.

Immediately I got to my desk, they filled it up with files to work on. I felt the urge to just cry. The day is already killing me, even if it has not gotten anywhere, how am I supposed to come with all of this?

I moved to the Cafe, got myself coffee and decided to go ahead with my day.

"Laura honey," Ms. Anthony called, as she gave me a warm smile, I knew she was on a mission to send me on an errand.

"The boss wants you to get him coffee, just like you did the other day, you can keep the change," she said, as she dropped some notes on the table.

My mind went back to our encounter at the club, and my throat immediately went dry. The memory of Mr. Finch's words flooded my mind. Why did he want coffee now? What game was he playing?

I fetched the coffee with shaking hands and made my way to his office. Standing outside the door, I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves.

"Come in," his deep voice called from within.

I stepped inside, keeping my gaze fixed on the floor.

"Are you planning to stand there all day, or will you serve the coffee?" he asked, his tone sharp.

My hands trembled as I moved toward his desk. But as I reached to set the cup down, my foot caught on something.

Time seemed to slow as the cup tipped, its contents spilling across his desk and soaking several important looking files.

"Jeez," I muttered, scared.

The room fell deathly silent, and I dared to look up, meeting Mr. Finch's furious gaze.

What had I done now?

Chapter 3 CH 3

LAURA POV

"I...I .."

"I am so sorry sir ..." I apologise, as I panicked while I tried to clean the desk.

He stood up, and I realised that even his white dress shirt now had patches of brown coffee on it. I shut my eyes and opened them one after the other to check the expression on his face, but he didn't have any expression on his face.

"You seem to be a very clumsy woman, Ms.Laura,'' he said, and my hands became sweaty instantly, I can't believe I'm going to lose my job just like that.

I flinched, "Sorry, sir."

He frowned, his piercing gaze locked onto mine. "I trust you've kept what you saw last night to yourself?" he asked, changing the topic.

"Yes, of course," I answered quickly.

His jaw tightened as if he didn't believe me. "Good. Because if word gets out, it won't just be your job on the line. Understood?"

I nodded, my throat dry. "Understood."

"Now, get back to work," he ordered, dismissing me with a wave of his hand.

"You heard me the first time Ms. Laura, get the fuck out of my office," he cursed, and I rushed out as fast as my legs could carry me.

I scurried out of his office, my heart pounding in my chest.

The rest of the day went on without any drama, it felt like the incident in his office was all in my head. I was expecting to see a sack letter, well he wouldn't want to do that because I have his little secret with me, I thought, giving myself a little hope.

I stayed late again, determined to finish my work this time. But as I was gathering my things to leave, a message popped up on my phone.

From: Mr. Finch

Meet me at this address in the next 30 minutes.

A chill ran down my spine. Was he going to fire me? Or worse, confront me about last night again?

When I got outside to flag a taxi down, a black tinted car drove by and stopped at my front only to see that it was Bryan's car. I tried to take a peek, to see if he was inside, but I was unable to see.

His personal bodyguard got out of the car. "Miss Laura, the boss asked me to pick you up."

"Me?? Ok," I murmured as I got into the car. I held my bag close to my body before getting into the car.

The ride to wherever he was taking me was a quiet one. Immediately we got to the mansion, my jaws dropped at how good the place looked. The tall mansion that stood in the middle, showed it was owned by an influential and wealthy man. The fountain and pool gave the place an exquisite look.

"Welcome to the Finch mansion ma'am" The guy ushered me in, and I nodded.

Workers walked around in white and black uniforms. An older lady who seemed to be in her early fifties, came out to welcome me as she took me inside. I was told to sit that the boss would be joining me shortly.

The different meals on the table made me wonder if it was prepared for a king. If I thought the outside looked good, it was nothing compared to the beauty of the inside.

"I can see you looking at things, even if it gets you into trouble most of the time," says the voice I could recognize even in my sleep.

This man has a thing for looking good, I don't think he has a day when he doesn't look good. He is wearing a black polo shirt that outlines his abs, for a moment I thought I could count the packs on his chest. I looked away, I wasn't comfortable with the way he makes me feel even without trying.

The maid pulled the chair out for him to sit, and I felt awkward at the way he was treated with royalty. They wore gloves and caps while serving us.

"You're not eating," he said when he noticed I hadn't touched anything.

What's with this man and being controlling? He made my entire day at the office awkward, and now he is continuing from where he stopped in the morning.

"I ...I'm not hungry" I responded immediately.

"I see you like it here then," he stated, like it was nothing serious.

"What ?" I asked in shock.

"It's obvious you have decided to spend the night here," he added, with a smirk on his face.

"When did I ever say I want to spend the night with you?" I spat angrily, and he smirked.

"There are two types of spending the night, Ms. Laura." He pointed out calmly.

"The one where I have you wrapped under my legs around my waist as I pound into you recklessly, or the one where we sleep in separate rooms, but I get to get what I want in the wee hours of the morning..." he trailed off, and my heart stopped beating for a second.

I drank from the glass of water on the table. "What you are saying is way out of line Mr Finch, you are being so unprofessional. I came here to discuss the deal so I can leave," I said, and my heart was pounding crazily against my chest.

"You ain't eating your food," he pointed out for the second time.

The fact that he was so calm, and I was burning in anger is pissing me off every minute.

"What does me not eating my food have to do with this? Sir??" I asked.

"Not eating means you're not ready for the conversation," he declared, and I knew the man was ready to frustrate me.

I took a deep breath in and out and decided to dig in. The more I listened to him speak, the more infuriating it was becoming so I went ahead and started eating.

After dinner, he walked me towards the bar in his sitting room, where he threw a file on the table in front of me. I stared at it with my eyebrows raised.

"Check it out," he declared, and I took a deep breath in and out to calm my nerves before going through the files.

"Wait, What...."I trailed in shock.

"Yes, I'm willing to pay you that amount of money, a promotion at the office as an official employee you don't have to be the office assistant anymore."

"You get to go on business trips with me," Mr Finch said, as he moved his hands to my laps, making me drag my skirt down a bit.

"A car and an apartment are part of that position, courtesy of Premium trust," he spoke, and his voice was so calm like none of the situations bothered him.

"Isn't it a bit too much?" I asked, the whole thing felt too good to be true it almost scared me.

"Why? Isn't that what you wanted?" he asked.

"You're willing to do all this just to shut me up? Why then do you strip, when you know it can destroy the reputation of your company?" I asked, and his intimidating eyes burned into me, making me shut up almost instantly.

"Why does it bother you so much that I strip? Have given you what you want, so why are you questioning me?" he asked, as he made his way over to me.

"I...it ...it doesn't bother me" I stuttered, as he walked in between my legs.

"Mr Fin.....ch" I stuttered, as tension filled the air.

"Why does it bother you so much, Ms. Laura?" He asked again.

"I saw the way you looked at me that night in the dark, like you wanted to be fucked so hard," he muttered in his deep velvety voice, that send chills to my body.

"I guess I should take my leave," I announced, and stood up immediately as I picked up my purse from the table, I heard him chuckle softly.

"Ms. Laura," he called, as I hurried towards the door.

I stopped in my tracks, as he walked over to me and handed me the documents.

"Make sure you sign them," he announced, and I walked away after grabbing the files.

As soon as I got home, I slammed the door shut and leaned against it, still holding the papers Bryan gave me. My heart was racing like I had just run a long race.

"What is wrong with me?" I spoke quietly, throwing the papers onto the nightstand in my room.

I walked to the bathroom, wanting to wash away the stress from the night. The room suddenly felt even smaller, making it hard to think clearly. I turned on the shower and let the hot water run over me, but it didn't help drown out Bryan's words in my head.

'I saw how you looked at me that night like you wanted something.' His words kept repeating in my mind until I groaned out in frustration, and held onto the sink for support.

"What am I doing?" I whispered to myself while looking at myself in the mirror. My cheeks were red, and my hair was wet and messy. I looked like someone who had been caught doing something wrong.

I stepped under the water again, hoping it would wash away memories of his smirk and the way he looked at me.

"This is silly," I told myself.

"He's my boss. He's rude and controlling. I should be angry, not..."I stopped talking, biting my lower lip.

I shook my head, trying to push that thought away. "No. No way. This isn't attraction. It's just... stress or fear or-"

Or maybe how his touch felt when he handed me the papers.

I pressed my forehead against the cool tiles in the bathroom, trying to stop thinking about him. But my body didn't listen. My skin still tingled where he had touched me.

"Come on, Laura, get it together," I told myself, standing up straight with my fists clenched at my sides.

"You don't have time for this. You need this job, not... whatever this is." But even as I said that, I knew it wasn't completely true. It wasn't just about the job or the promotion, it was about him. Bryan Finch, the man who made me angry and scared but also made my heart race.

I hit my palm against the shower wall in frustration. "Why does he have to be so... so-"

"Ugh!" I groaned, turning off the water and stepping out of the shower.

I wrapped myself in a towel and walked into my bedroom, determined to stop thinking about him.

But when I fell onto my bed, the first thing I saw was the file he gave me sitting on my nightstand.

I sighed and covered my face with my hands. "This can't end well," I whispered to myself, as I picked it up and signed the document.
