Everyone in the office is working normally, when all of a sudden a guy comes running and says 'He's coming!'

The entire office staff starts running around frantically. Everyone is busy clearing their tables. Then all of them get ready and form two lines. A man probably in his forties comes over.

"Ok, you guys on the left, and you on the right. Make sure no one makes a mistake, ok." The man is probably in his forties and is practically sweating as the CEO is coming.

Just then a young man in his early twenties enters the office. Blue eyes, black shining shoulder length hairs tied in a neat ponytail. The suit was so perfect on him, anyone could guess he had a fit body and it wasn't hard to guess he had a six pack as well. As he enters the office, a girl comes over and hands him a bouquet of flowers and greets him.

Taking the flowers, Devon says "Thanks for the welcome, it's my first visit to the marketing department. I'm usually over at the accounts department. As you all know I took over the company three years back and I would like to personally thank you all for your hard work. But, as you all know our sales are lower than last year. Which is the reason I had to come. From now on I shall look over each project's marketing myself. Rodrick (Manager), please bring me the project files, and I mean all of them. And, Terry, you're the PR, right?"

Terry nods a yes and says "Yes, Sir."

Devon says "OK, I want you to recruit some new creators for the upcoming perfume project. Make sure it's an intern program."

Terry says "Ah, sir, Miss Linda's project is an elite project, interns? Would that be..."

With a stern look Devon says "Miss Terry, are you questioning me?"

Getting worried, Terry says "Oh no sir, I just meant."

"Miss Terry, remember one thing always. The opportunity you got, you should always pray for others to get it so they can live their dreams as well." Devon says with a brightness in his eyes "You also joined as an Intern two years back. I liked your work and made you a full time PR at the office."

Terry instantly says "Sir, I can never thank you enough and I'm sorry for my bad. I'll recruit some interns asap. Ah, Sir, any particular requirements?"

Devon says "Decent workers."

Saying so Devon goes to his office. As he closes the door, he comes and stands in front of the window. Though the sun was shining bright, for some reason Devon was not affected by it and kept staring at the sun. Just then his phone rings. He sees a text from his mother telling him his father will be coming back this week.

Who is Devon you may ask, well Devon is the President of Clement Group of companies and CEO of Osborn Event Enterprises. His full name is Devon Clement. But after he took over his grandfather's Osborn Event Enterprises, he changed his name to Devon Osborn Clement so he would have no problems in his work.

His grandfather, mother's father, passed away when he was only sixteen years old, and left the company to his grandson. So, Devon took over as the CEO of Osborn Event Enterprises as a teenager. And when he turned 20, his dad gave over Clement Group of companies as well.

Devon comes over to his desk and takes his seat. As he is going through the paperwork, his eyes fall on the engagement ring he is wearing. He says in his mind 'Why do I always end up wearing it when I know It will never be a reality.' He opens his drawer and removes a frame. The frame has a photo of a little girl and a boy. The photo is a childhood photo of him and Katherine.

Devon goes into a flashback

Devon's father Tim and Katherine's father Robert were childhood friends. Their wives were also great friends. Devon's mother Maddy and Katherine's mother Jin got pregnant at the same time. When Robert and Tim knew, they made a promise to each other. To make their friendship stronger they would marry their children together. And so, Tim had Devon and Robert had Katherine. When the kids became five years old, the parents got them engaged and planned to get them married after graduation. Everything was perfect. Devon and Katherine were growing in a loving environment and both could not stay away from each other.

But one dreaded day, a kidnapping, a shootout destroyed their peaceful life.

It so happened one day Devon and Katherine were at Katherine's home alone. Both kids were playing in the backyard. When all of a sudden a man wearing a monkey cap jumps over the wall and aims at Katherine and shoots. Devon sees the man and comes in the way. As Devon falls on the ground, Katherine starts screaming seeing Devon is bleeding. She falls on her knees and shakes Devon and keeps on saying 'Devon get up' over and over. Devon takes hold of Katherine's hand and holds it tightly. The man comes over and says 'So gonna play hero.' He pulls Katherine from Devon and takes her away. But Katherine manages to remove the monkey cap before the man manages to take Katherine away.

When Devon and Katherine's parents come back home, they see the guard is shot dead at the entrance gate. As they come inside they see the nanny's are also killed. Jin runs to Katherines' room to see the kids. As she yells the kids are not in the room, everyone starts to look for them. As Robert runs to the backyard he sees Devon is lying in a pool of blood. He yells to everyone to come as he has found Devon. As soon as they see Devon, Maddy dials for the ambulance. As the ambulance comes, Tim tells Jin and Maddy to go with Devon as they will go to the police and report Katherine is missing.

At the hospital, the doctor comes out and says Devon's condition is critical. The bullet has logged near the heart and is causing a heart failure. He needs a heart transplant right now. Maddy agrees as this is the only option to keep him alive. But she didn't know it would cause him problems later on.

The police could not find Katherine. Days went by and there was no whereabouts of Katherine and Devon was at the hospital.

Finally, Katherine was found but she was in shock. Apart from her parents she would not let anyone come near her. The uncle and aunt whom she once loved, now she feared them.

One day Katherine's parents decide to bring her to the hospital in hopes maybe on seeing Devon, she would come to her senses. But at the hospital on seeing Devon she began to scream.

Devon's condition was also not improving and Katherine had literally locked herself from the outer world. Soon the families were filled with tension. That's when Tim took a major decision. He decided to accept a project offer in Italy and to leave along with Maddy and Devon.

Though he didn't want to leave, with a heavy heart Tim told Robert he was leaving for Italy with Devon and Maddy. And promises the day both graduate, they will get them married.

As Tim left with Devon and Maddy for Italy, he didn't know this would be the worst decision he'll ever make.

Back in Italy, Tim managed to set up his business and over time it flourished and within a few years he was the President of Clement Group of Companies. Robert also had opened a resort and named it Sunrise Resorts. Katherine has began to socialize but whenever her parents tried to show her Devon's childhood pictures, she would start getting scared, and would often have nightmares. So, her parents decided to not talk about Devon.

Devon also began to live his so-called normal life. After all he only had a heart transplant thanks to a near-death experience at the age of six and now for the rest of his life depends on medication and every slight whisk of wind can cause him to get infected. But nonetheless, Devon turned out to be an extraordinary young man. No matter what health issues he faced, he emerged as the most successful youngest CEO in his field.

Katherine also soon began to work at her father's resort.

Over the years Tim tried to keep contact with Robert, but it seemed like Robert was hesitant, but Tim never gave up.

To The Present

Suddenly a knock on the door brings Devon out of his flashback. "Come in." Seeing it's Terry, Devon says "Don't tell me you got an intern so soon."

Terry says "No, sir, actually I came to tell you the meeting is in an hour..."

A little confused Devon says "Meeting? What meeting?"

Terry is surprised to see Devon forgetting the meeting as he's the one who's always ready in advance.

"Ah, the one with Miss Linda, on the layout of the advertisements and the hoardings issue." Terry says a bit hesitant as she is afraid she will get scolded by him.

Devon sees he's gotten a text from his mother so he says "Terry, tell Rodrick to bring the file over."

Terry takes her leave and goes to Rodrick's office and tells him to take the documents to Devon's office.

As Rodrick enters Devon's office, Devon says "Rodrick, we need to close the meeting soon...."

Rodrick sees Devon is fidgeting with his engagement ring and he knows this means Devon is tensed so he tries to calm him down as he knows getting tensed or over excited can be fateful for Devon.

"Ah, no problem Devon. The hoarding issue is solved and we have gotten the advertisement telecast time as well. So, it won't be long." says Rodrick in hopes that Devon calms down soon.

Devon goes through the paperwork and then gets up and says "Let's go."

As Devon and Rodrick enter the room, Miss Linda and her staff member get up to greet Devon.

As Devon takes his seat, he says "Miss Linda, the hoarding issues have been dealt with. We will start setting them up by this weekend and as for the advertisements, they will be on air the next week. According to our plans, we will release an ad by Tuesday. The shooting will commence today. So far everything is going to plan so, I think you can rest assured, there will be no issues."

Miss Linda folds her hands and says "Mr. Devon I do have to say I was a little worried when I was coming over. After all, this is our prime perfume and when I was told you're only 23 years old, I was sceptical, but now I'm happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with you."

Devon remains calm and says "The pleasure is all mine Miss Linda. In this case I should thank you personally for taking the trust in me, thanks."

As Miss Linda is folding her files she says "Mr Devon, would you please allow me to treat you to dinner as a gratitude for your great work."

Devon says with an expressionless face "Miss Linda, some other time. But, still thanks for the offer." As he gets up "Rodrick, please have David escort Miss Linda out. (Looking towards Rodrick) Let's go."

Linda and her staff gets up as Devon is ready to leave.

As Devon leaves, Miss Linda says "He's an interesting person."

A staff member says "Miss, according to my sources, he's single and has no love interest. But, he avoids ladies."

Miss Linda says "Well, there's always a first for everything. Let's go."

Just then David arrives and says "Miss Linda please this way."

As David is escorting Miss Linda to her car, back in the office Rodrick says "Devon, you received a text from Mrs Clement, I think you should take a look at it. Do you remember Katherine and..."

Devon picks his phone and sees the text and places the phone on the table and says "Rodrick, there's not a day that I don't think of Katherine. Matter of fact, I even tried contacting her two times, but she never replied. Looks like I'm the only one who wants the relation...."

Rodrick intervenes and says "Devon, please I don't think its so. I'm sure she must have reasons and we really don't know if she is ...."

Devon sighs and says "She's fine. Dad said so himself. But, I don't know...I mean come on, who in today's world would accept a childhood engagement. Like which century are we living in?"

Smiling Rodrick says "You do, and I'm sure she is ...."

Just then Devon's phone rings so he receives it and says "Yes, mom, what's up?"

Maddy says "Hon, it's your uncle...(sniffing) Robert....Robert....he's no more."

Shocked Devon says "What? When, mom, what happened?"

As Devon is speaking with his mom on the phone Tristan (Tristan is Devon's bodyguard and childhood besty) enters and says "Devon we have to go home now."

Looking at Tristan, Devon says confused "Mom, Tristan is here, did you send him?"

Maddy says "No, but it's good he's there, both of you come back home right now."

Disconnecting the call, Devon says "Rodrick, ah....tell everyone to take the day off and cancel my appointments."

Concerned, Rodrick asks "Devon, what's the matter?"

A little lost on words Devon says "Ah, Robert uncle is dead. Don't tell anyone yet, I don't know what happened, so..."

Understanding the situation, Rodrick says "It's ok Devon. Don't worry about the office, you guys go on. I'll come over after closing the office."

Devon and Tristan take leave for home.

As Devon and Tristan come inside, they see Maddy is crying so Devon goes over and consoles his mom and says "Mom, what happened and where's dad? Tristan..."

Sniffing, Maddy wipes her tears and says "Tristan, you have to stay with Devon ok, dear."

Tristan comes over and bends on his knees in front of Maddy and says "Aunt, you don't have to say that, but Devon is right, where's uncle?"

Maddy wipes her tears and says "Your dad got a letter from your uncle Robert and left for Alexin a few days back. Today he called me and said Robert and Jin, both got killed in a hit-and-run. (crying) They died on the spot. The police captured your dad cause it was his car that was seen by the witnesses."

Both Devon and Tristan say 'What?' in unison

"Tristan, see if you can call dad." says Devon as he dials Rodrick and says "Hi, Rodrick, did dad call you, today, tomorrow or..."

Rodrick says "Devon, he said he would call but he hasn't called yet, why?"

Taking a sigh Devon says "Ok, listen carefully. Uncle Robert and Aunt Jin, both got killed in a hit-and-run and the witnesses saw dad's car...(Tristan signals to Devon his dad wants to speak with him) Rodrick, stay on line. (Devon takes Tristan's phone and continues) Dad, are you ok, how's Katherine?'

Tim says "I'm fine kid, as for Katherine I don't know. She won't see me."

Devon says "What happened dad?"

Taking a sigh Tim says "It's like this. After we came, me and Robert kept contact with each other and kept each other updated about you kids. But over time Robert seemed like he was not interested in what was happening and would only speak about the old days. I kept on pushing it sideways and was waiting for the day he would say Katherine is fine, but I just found out Katherine has those nightmares even now. A few days back he called and said 'Buddy come back home,' I took the next flight back to Alexin. On arrival I booked a room and then he called and said he would meet me in the afternoon, I waited till evening, but he didn't come. I got a call from him the next morning saying he couldn't make it and said he'd meet me the day after. Again he didn't show up and again he apologized. Then the car got stolen and I told the driver to file an FIR, and yesterday morning on the local news I saw Robert and Jin got killed in a hit-and-run. The car was found a few blocks away. Driver fled the scene."

Devon gets angry and says "Dad, why did you never tell me all this? Now where are you?"

Tim says "Devon, sorry kid, I kinda forget even though you are young, you have more brains than others. Anyways, I'm at the hotel. Ah, a kind of hotel arrest. That's why I called you. You'll have to come. Tell Tristan to take care of your mom, ok."

Devon takes a sigh and says "Yeah, sure dad. And, dad, don't worry, everything will be ok."

As Devon disconnects, he takes the other call and says "Hi, Rodrick, book me the first flight to Alexin. And, Tristan is going to stay here with mom, so please take care of the office while I'm away."

Rodrick says "Don't worry Devon, I'll mail you the ticket right now."

As he disconnects, Tristan says "Devon, what's going on?"

Maddy also says "Yeah, what's going on?"

Devon says "Mom, Tristan, at the present all I know there was something wrong with uncle and Katheirne is still having nightmares."

Maddy gets up and says "Then shouldn't I also go with you. Katherine, my child must be all alone. She needs me..."

Devon says "Mom, at the present she will not want to see any of us."

Shocked, Maddy says "What? Why? Come on, Devon , she needs me..."

Getting a little frustrated, Devon says "Mom, dad's car is responsible for the hit-and-run. So far dad is under hotel-arrest. I have to go and help dad. And, Katherine, dad said she believes the witnesses and doesn't want to meet dad. (Looking at Tristan) Tristan, take care of mom."

Tristan says "Don't worry, and Devon, don't get excited. Your breathing is getting heavy."

Suddenly remembering, Maddy says "Dev, did you take your medicine?"

Devon says "Yes, mom don't worry."

Just then Devon gets an email. He sees his reservation is for the evening.

Seeing the email, Devon says "Ok, mom the ticket is ready. I'm leaving in the evening."

Rodrick comes to pick Devon and takes him to the airport.

At the airport, Devon goes to the counter and then as he is ready to board, Roddrick says "Devon, please take care of yourself. The atmosphere of Italy and Alexin is quite different. Your health, and remember to take your medicine on time."

Smiling Devon says "God, Rodrick, and I thought mom was at home."

Smiling Devon hugs Rodrick and enters the gate.

As Devon arrives at the entrance, memories come to him like a flood. He hails a cab and tells the driver to take him to the hotel. Since Alexin is a small town, there is only one hotel, so Devon did not have to take the name.

As the cab stops, the driver says "You took one hell of a time to come here. Stay safe."

Devon smiles and pays the cab and as he keeps his bags down, he looks ahead of him. He walks over and enters the reception area and says "Excuse me, but I would like to meet Mr. Tim Clement, room no 1503 please."

Just then a man comes over and says "Ah, you must be Mr Devon Clement. Officer Ren, please this way."

Devon follows him and as Ren gestures to him to sit, Devon takes a seat and says "Officer, can I meet my dad?"

Ren says "Of course you can, but after we get the statement recorded. Your father said he would record it in front of you. Now that you've arrived, let's go."

As they reach the door, an officer sees them and opens the door. On entering, Devon sees his father is seated on the sofa with two officers standing on his both sides.

Ren says "Ok, Mr Tim, your statement please."

Tim takes a deep breath and says "Well, it's like this. Robert called me a few days back and told me to come. Since it's been ages since we met, I took the first flight. On arrival I booked this room and then Robert said he would meet me in the afternoon. I waited till evening but he didn't come. In the morning he told me he had some urgent work so couldn't come and would meet me the next day. In the morning, my driver told me the car got stolen from the parking lot so I filed an FIR. Two days later in the morning I saw the news that Robert and Jin were killed and then I got the call from the police station telling me the car was found and it was pounded as it's the car involved in Robert's hit-and-run."

Ren says "So, you didn't get to meet Robert during your stay here?"

Tim says "Yes, both times he didn't come."

Ren says "No offence, but how was your relation with the deceased couple?"

Smiling a 'what the hell', Tim says "My son is engaged to Robert's daughter. Me and Robert are college friends and my son and his daughter are childhood friends. How do you think our relation is, and here take a look (Tim shows his phone), not a day went by we didn't talk."

Ren says "Then you might know something. How was he during the conversations? Did he seem like he might have an enemy?'

Devon intervenes and says "Officer, may I ask a question?"

Ren says "Sure, why not?"

"What makes you think uncle Robert had an enemy?" Devon continues saying "Did he receive any threat or something?"

Ren says "From the files I see you and Miss Katehrine faced a near death situation. After you and your family left, Mr Robert took a loan and began his business. Over the years he had made a respectable reputation here. But a while back he did file a report of a burglary. Some documents were missing. I'm presuming that person came back."

Devon says "The one who attacked us? He's in jail."

Ren says "He was but only for a week, then he went off radar."

Shocked Devon says "What? It was proved he shot me and kidnapped Katherine. How could he be released?"

Ren says "Look, I wasn't the officer or judge back then. I'm just telling the facts I know now. Anyways, you can take you and your father are free to go. Oh, the car stays."

Devon says "Officer, are you presuming it wasn't a hit-and-run?"

Ren says "The way Robert's car went off the road, it looks like murder, but we can't verify that for now. Anyways the investigation is on."

As Ren leaves, Devon says "Dad, I want you to go back home..."

Tim stops Devon's sentence mid-way and says "No, I have to..."

Devon intervenes and says "Dad, uncle is dead and if what officer Ren said is correct, I'm not having you in danger. No one knows me here. I'll stay back and get to the bottom of this. You go back and look over the company."

Tim says "Devon, what about Katherine? She needs us..."

Devon stops his dad and says "Dad, you just said she didn't want to see you and she believes the witnesses. As for Katherine, I won't leave until I know she's safe. I promise."

Tim says "Dev, she's your future wife."

Devon's heart misses a beat when his father says that. Taking a deep breath Devon says "Dad, I tried texting her a couple of times back home. She read the messages but never replied. So, I would say she wants no connection with me. And, if she's still having nightmares, it's all the more obvious. (Just then he gets a call from Tristan) Yeah, Tristan, what's up?"

On the line Tristan says "Devon, Katherine has been using another number for the past 10 years. It's possible she never saw them."

"Tristan, if that's so, either uncle and aunt didn't let her know" continuing Devon says "And, if that's the so, I'm sure they had their reasons. But if it's someone else, I first need to know her position on me. Keep track."

Just then a bell-boy comes and says "Sir, Mr Tim's ticket has arrived. The flight is for tonight."

Devon takes the envelope and says "Thanks, could you please arrange for a cab to take my dad to the airport and please extend this room stay to infinite. Put it on my card."

Devon hands over his card and then begins to pack his father's bag. Making sure everything is packed, he keeps the bag on the side.

As Tim is waiting for his cab, he says "Devon, I can't leave if there's someone after them."

Devon sits beside his father and says "Dad, lesser the better. With you here, I'll have to worry about you and Katherine. Please, don't worry."

Just then the bell-boy comes and informs the cab has arrived. Tim and Devon hug each other and then Tim takes leave and goes back to Italy.

As Devon sits on the sofa he recalls his childhood memories. He remembered how he used to tease Katherine with her doll saying she loved her doll more than she loved him. And every time she would get angry and say Devon doesn't like her. He remembered one time when he had caught the flu, she stayed by his bed the entire time. The images flashed by as he remembered when his mother came to apply the wet bandages to cool off the fever, Katherine said she would do it. With tiny hands she would squeeze the cloth and place them on his forehead. When Devon was better, she cried and told him never to get sick again because she was so worried. Devon recalled he promised her he would never get sick again. Then he places his hand on his chest where his operation was done and says 'Sorry, I couldn't keep my promise.'

Then Devon goes through the paperwork Ren left for him. After going through the dates, Devon realizes the person knew his father was coming to Alexin. That means he wanted to frame his father for his uncle and aunt's murder. He also finds out his uncle's resort is under a huge debt. And, the resort is barely running. But his staff is loyal and trying their best to keep the resort afloat.

As the winds were blowing Katherine was watching in front of ehr as if she was looking into an abyss. She felt like her world had crumbled right in front of her. She pulls a chain in her neck and holds the ring in her hand. Suddenly memories of the day she exchanged the rings came back to her and her head started to pain her. She closes her eyes to forget everything and then comes inside and sits on the sofa and starts crying.

Speaking to herself she says 'Why, Devon? Why did you never contact me? Dad always told uncle I was not fine, did it not matter to you? Why? Why? How badly I waited for the day you would come and put the ring back but now I don't want to see you. I can never forgive uncle, never, never. Mom-dad, I miss you. I'm all alone. I'm scared. What do I do?'

Just then she gets a call from her receptionist. Taking the call she says "Yes, Dorothy?"

Dorothy says "Katherine, sorry to disturb you but they will come tomorrow for the loan, what do we do?"

Katherine says "Dorothy, don't worry. I'll arrange something. Take care."

Before Dorothy could say anything, Katherine disconnects. Then she dials a number.

As the person says 'Hello,' Katherine says "Hello, uncle, It's me Katherine, I was wondering if you could lend me some money. I'll return every cent....hello...hello"

She dials another number and says "Hello, I'm Katherine Jiles from Sunrise Resorts. I would like a loan of...Yes, I know the resort is not doing good business right now, but...it's ok, thanks."

One after another, everyone rejects helping Katherine. As she gets up, she walks over to a painting. It's a painting of Sunrise Resorts. Jin painted it on the day the resort was inaugurated. Seeing the painting Katherine says 'Father, I will save our resort and bring it back to glory. I swear.'

When she fell asleep she didn't realize until she woke up in the morning to her phone's ringing.

She sees it's Clive, her manager. Receiving the call she says "Good morning, yes uncle."

Clive has been the manager since Robert began the resorts. Katherine practically grew up in front of him and has been calling him uncle since then,

In the morning Devon gets ready. As he picks up his engagement ring, he places it inside his pocket. Then he orders breakfast and as he is waiting for his breakfast he goes through the daily paper. He sees a lot of people have posted condolence messages on the sudden demise of his uncle. Then his breakfast arrives. As he finishes his breakfast, he dials a number and hires a car for his travel.

Then he decides to take a drive and look around. As he comes over to the reception and hands his keys. Taking the car keys from the receptionist, Devon drives off. After driving for a while, Devon sees a young girl is pleading to some men, while a man probably in his early 40s and a lady of about 30+ is standing behind the girl and also trying to plead with the men, who by the looks, are probably loan shark men.

As Devon is looking at them, suddenly he realizes they are standing in front of Sunrise Resorts. Devon takes a closer look at the young girl and realizes it's Katherine. She is exactly as he thought she might look. Beautiful brown eyes with brown long hairs, Katherine always fantasized having long hairs. A complete replica of her mother.

So, Devon drives over and as he gets out of the car he can hear a man say "Look, I know you don't have the money. So, just sign over the resort and everything will be over. Look, don't make us the bad guys hurting a young girl, ok."

Just then Devon steps over and says "You're taking this young lady's resort and yet you claim, you are not hurting her."

Katherine looks towards Devon and for a moment is spell-bound. Then she says "Ah, sir, it's my problem, I don't want anyone hurt so, please."

Smiling Devon says to the loan shark men "How much does she owe you?"

One of the men looks at Devon and says "Look, since you're wearing a suit and boot, we are letting you leave with a face. Now, this ain't a playground and neither we have a video game arcade here so..."

With a stern look Devon again says "How much?"

Just as the first man was about to speak, the other one stops him and says "Twenty million, her dad owes us twenty million. You gonna pay?"

Devon reaches for his checkbook and is about to sign 'Clement,' but remembering Katherine won't accept if she knows it's him, he signs 'Osborn' instead and hands it over.

"You can get it transferred tomorrow," continuing Devon says "Now I hope you won't bother the lady."

One of the men takes the check and says looking at the sign "Mr. Osborn, thank you very much. And, of course, we have no reasons to bother her anymore. Nice doing business, miss."

As they were about to leave, Devon stops them and says in a stern dominant tone "Papers."

One of the men says handing over a file "Oh, sorry Mr Osborn, my bad, my bad."

As the loan shark men leave, Devon hands over the file to Katherine and says "Please check if the papers are complete."

Katherine takes the file and smiles saying "Yes, thankyou Mr..."

Devon says "Devon, Devon Osborn, and you are."

On hearing him say 'Devon' Katherine's heart skips a beat and then she says "Mr Devon, thanks for your help. I'm Katherine Jiles. Please would you come in (she points towards her resorts), I would like to assure you I'll pay back every cent I owe you..."

As Katherine was speaking, Devon could not resist but look at her. She had brown eyes, blonde hair and flawless skin. He could see tear stains on her face, meaning she was crying a while back. At that moment Devon wished he could go over and hug her and say he's there but he knew he couldn't.

Then Katherine says "You said your name is Devon, is that really your name? I mean I know you're not the only Devon in the world, it's just that apart from him I never met any."

Devon is literally smiling in his heart as he realizes she acknowledged him and says "Well, yes my name is Devon Osborn. Do you know someone else by my name?"

Taking a deep breath Katherine says "Yes, my fiance (she removes the chain in her neck to show the engagement ring), he's out of the country."

Devon feels so happy inside as he hears Katherine just said she has a fiance and is wearing their engagement ring in her chain. That means he still has hopes, she will be his one day. But for now, Devon knew he must win her trust and then her heart. And in between all this, he has to clear his father's name and catch the ones responsible for killing his uncle and aunt and for making Katherine cry.

Katherine again says "So, lets go inside and have a talk, Mr Devon."

Smiling Devon says "Ah, Mr Devon is kind of too formal, Devon will do, if you don't mind."

"Of course, and you can also call me Katherine," continuing Katherine says "Oh, he's Clive, our manager and family friend."

Devon smiles and shakes hands with Clive. As they are entering a man probably the same age as Devon comes over and tries to block Katherine's way. Ron comes in the way.

Seeing him, Katherine says "James, I made you the PR cause you needed a job, and you are my collegemate so..."

Humphing James says "Collegemate? Honestly? I'm or at least was your boyfriend..."

Intervening Katherine says "James, can't you see we have someone here?"

Scoffing James says "Mitchelle, are you not the secretary? Should you not know when someone comes, he should be taken to the visiting room and ...."

Katherine intervenes and says "Not when he just paid 20 million dollars and cleared Sunrise Resorts debt with one check. And, he's my guest. Mitchelle, please, two cups of coffee."

Katherine opens the door and says "Please, this way."

Devon and Katherine enter Katherine's office and as they get seated, Katherine seems to be at a loss of words.

"So, Devon, how would you like to have me repay, I mean...I do have to return the money and as of now....well...ah... you see, Sunrise Resorts is..."

Looking as calm as possible Devon says "Katherine, please calm down. We are practically the same age so, I don't think we need to be formal or uncomfortable. Since those guys were here for the loan, I can presume Sunrise Resorts is not doing well at the moment."

Katherine says "Yes, unfortunately over the past few years, there has been a decline. And, now that my parents have passed away."

Devon quickly reacts "Oh, sorry for that, what happened?"

Katherine looks at her hands and fidgets (Devon recalls she had a habit of fidgeting her fingers when she would be nervous. At that moment he so badly wanted to say it's ok) a little. Then she says "They were victims of a hit-and-run. And, the person responsible had a good alibi so, he's free."

Devon instantly understood she meant his father. And, that also meant she now hates him, but Devon wanted to be a bit more certain so he could act accordingly.

"Ah, Katherine, I don't know if I can ask, but I'm taking the liberty of asking, it's a hunch but for some reason I feel it's more than just a debt. Were those people really here for money and nothing else? I saw the daily and when I came here to stay at the hotel, the cab driver also told me about your father's death. So, maybe..."

Getting a little emotional, Katherine says "Yes, actually it's cause of a years old incident. There is someone who was blackmailing my dad, but he never spoke about it. The money he took, the one you paid for, he gave it to someone. To whom, I don't know. Oh and one more thing. My uncle, who left, like years ago, came back a few days back and it was his so-called stolen car that was used for killing my parents."

Devon says "Katherine, one thing I know right now is you need to get the resort back on the top. And, looks like I came at the right time."

Surprised at Devon's words, Katherine says "What? Right time?"

"Yes, right time cause I'm the CEO of Osborn Events Enterprises. We Osborns have organized thousands of international events across the globe. The reason I came here was for an exhibition. I was looking for a location and those guys bugging you so, had to stop. And, now I think I have found my location."

Just then Katherine gets a call "Yes, oh (She gets a bit hyper) no, no, I didn't forget. I'll pay you back as soon as possible. You know the condition of the resort is not much good, but I promise..."

Devon takes the phone receiver from Katherin's hand and says "Hello, we don't know eachother but I'm Devon Osborn, CEO of Osborn Events enterprises, and Miss Katherine's business partner. How much does the resort owe you?"

The person on the phone says "Oh, Mr. Osborn it's a pleasure to meet you. Actually Mr Robert took ten million dollars from us and..."

"My number must have come on your ID, so could you please send me your account details. I'll send the amount asap." Devon says, looking at his phone's display. Then he types something and says "Please check your account."

The person on the phone says "Oh thank you Mr Devon, thanks a lot."

Smiling Devon says "Great! Now I hope you won't bother Miss Katherine."

The person on the phone says "Of course not, definitely not sir, thanks once again."

As the call disconnects, Katherine says "Great, now I owe you thirty million dollars, and why did you tell you're my business partner? Now, you'll be in trouble."

Devon dials a number and on the phone says "Rodrick, get a business partnership contract ready. 80-20, between Sunrise Resorts and Osborn Events Enterprises. Send the soft verified copy over at (Devon takes a notepad and writes 'email address' and pushes it over to Katherine. As Katherine reads it, she writes the resort's email id 'sunriseresorts@gt.com') sunriseresorts@gt.com. Check your email."

Surprised Katherine checks her email and she sees she just got an email from Osborn Events Enterprises and an attachment as well. On downloading the file, she sees it's a verified contract.

Devon says "Download it and sign it. Our business partnership will begin."

Katherine downloads the document and reads it, then she says "What is this? A business partnership, and you're taking only 20, like for real?"

"Well, as a business person, it won't look good and people will presume it's a personal contract so for other's we can say 50-50." says Devon in a calm tone.

"Devon, I don't know who you are and I don't get it, why are you helping me?" Katherine says getting a bit worried "Are you...do you want something from me, (figuring out) I WON'T GIVE THE RESORTS."

Devon smiles and says "I think you didn't read the contract properly, and as a business person, that is very bad."

Katherine picks the contract and reads it again and sees a clause that says 'I, Devon Osborn will never claim the 20% shares as mine'

Devon says "I presume you've read the clause so, overall I'm only helping you and I can at no cost take the resorts from you. And as for not knowing me, well my name I already told you, the contract proves I am the CEO of Osborn Events Enterprises, and I'm from Eden West. You can check on the map. My home is on the top floor of Osborn Enterprises."
