"Coming!" Liam called out to whoever was banging at the door impatiently as he rushed towards it. There were no intervals between each knocks delivered to the wooden surface and that was a telltale sign of the urgency behind whoever was knocking's situation. He pulled the door open to the sight of his girlfriend, Divine, looking anything but pleased as she dodged his advances when he leaned in for a kiss.
"Babe, we need to talk, we are in deep sh*t" She spoke, the small space under his arm serving as an opening for her to walk inside the house, taking a few steps before she rummaged through her bag, pulling an envelope out before turning to look at Liam, who walked in after her, still dissatisfied at the fact that he hadn't gotten his kiss. "What could be so serious that you wouldn't kiss me, I mean, it's not like anyone's dying from a terminal disease, right?" He asked, still edging closer. Divine let out a frustrated sigh, hands almost going to grip at her hair as she resumed walking deeper into the apartment with Liam hot on her tail "No, you don't get it! It'd been a lot better if I was dying from a terminal disease" she said, finally reaching the bed and practically throwing herself on it. Tears were begining to well up in her eyes, making Liam, who now stood in front of her panic for a brief moment as she was stretching the hand carrying the envelope towards him. With furrowed brows, he collected the piece of brown paper, quickly tearing it open and fishing another paper out of it. Sparing another glance at his girlfriend who watched him expectantly, he pulled it open and quickly scanned the paper in his hands for it's content, heart dropping to his feet as he returned his gaze to his girlfriend. "What's this? Y- you're pregnant?" His features twisted into a frown before he added. "For whom?!" "Yes, that's what I've been trying to say, we're in deep shit! And what do you mean for whom? Who else would it be if not you?" She asked, tears threatening to spill from her eyes when he looked at her with something akin to disgust. "What do you mean me? Don't give me that bull. You think I haven't heard the rumors of you fvcking other guys?" He chewed out, now stepping away from her, widening the distance between them as he avoided her reaching hands like the plague. "W- what?" She stuttered out, a tear streaming down her face at the accusation. "N- no how could you say that Liam, you know it has always been only you, why are you saying this all of a sudden" She questions, more tears freely flowing and Liam was shaking his head vehemently. "No." He said, making her look up from where she'd been crying into her palms. "What?" "You can't keep this baby, you have to get rid of it." She felt her heart shatter as he said the words she'd never expected of him. "I'm too young to be a parent! Heck, I can't even take care of myself, talk more of another person right now!. You can't..... we can't do it, you have to find a way to get rid of it" He said and she blinked at him, still having a bit of trouble processing his words. She couldn't believe it. He spoke and acted differently than the Liam she'd known and had been dating for the last 8 months, it was like being slapped across the face. "This is bad. This is really bad" he began to pace around the room before slamming the papers in his hands unto the small bedside drawer, jolting her out of her thoughts. No words would escape her mouth when he looked at her once again before wordlessly walking to the door and pulling it open, silently asking her to leave. Silence fell over the room like a thick blanket, with him waiting impatiently, almost tapping his feet before he finally voiced out his thoughts when Divine just stared at him dumbly. "I need you to leave. I- I have to do some thinking and I can't do that with you here, so......" he gestured towards the door again and if her heart had shattered before, she felt it break into more tiny, unsalvageable pieces at the implications of his words. "You're sending me away? I- I thought we were in this together? YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME!" She breathed out harshly after yelling the last part out, blinking as if realizing what she'd just done before a sob broke out again. "Please, don't do this Liam, don't ask me to leave. I need you now more than ever" She pleaded, rubbing her hands together in front of her. His eyes shut tight in frustration, her words only seeming to anger him more and with one final shake of his head, he briskly walked back to where she was now on her knees, grabbing her arm in a bruising grip as he dragged her out of the bedroom and out of his apartment while she continued to beg and plead with him. The last thing she saw was a grimace on his face before the door was slammed shut in her face and she was breaking down at his doorstep. The same one where they'd share hugs and silent whispers filled with confessions of thier love for each other whenever she had to leave. The same doorstep where he'd have kissed her a few minutes ago, like he always did whenever he opened the door to her. Had that all been a lie? She was hysterical when she got back on her feet, banging at the door with cries of his name and please's muttered to the wind as her forehead rested on the cold surface. There was no telling how long she'd cried, with Liam obviously ignoring her from the other side, but when she was finally pulling away after several failed attempts to get him to let her in, so they could talk at least, it was well dark out and like it couldn't get any worse, she realized she'd forgotten her purse and phone in her haste to break the news to him. After sparing a few longing looks at his still closed door, she decided to start the walk home, the tears never stopping as she wondered where it all went wrong, how would she continue from here. And it was as though the heavens were mocking her when the only warning she got came in the form of a loud clap of thunder, the first drop of precipitation landing on her cheek, before it came pouring, making her cry even louder as she couldn't be heard anyways, heartbroken, drained and just done with it all as she found her way back home, the whistles of the cold breeze her only companion. -A Few Months Ago- With a loud groan, a hand reached out to turn off the alarm clock that sent a shrill sound through the room, the numbers 06:00 displayed on the small screen. Divine stretched her arms out, looking around the room. She was a young teen, orphaned at the age of 10 when she lost both her parents in a ghastly car crash. It was a very traumatic event, which was also the biggest turning point in her life. After the funeral services, with relatives she'd never known her whole life looking at her with sad eyes and spilling words they'd thought to be comforting but were rather unnerving, she found herself living with her uncle. Her dad's younger brother, having gotten all her Dad left behind, seeing as his only heir wasn't of age, now lived in their family house, and that was when her life took a drastic turn. Having never lacked anything at the start of her life, she became the modern day Cinderella in her own father's house. Coupled with the constant insults and overworking, living with her uncle was nothing short of hell. She was 5'9 by the time she turned 16, her uncle and his wife never shutting up with their remarks about how she was 'too big for her age'. Growing into her body as a young woman wasn't the most comfortable of experiences too, eyes never leaving her chest, which was now home to two shapely mounds, and if they did leave her chest, it'd be to stare down at her body which would warrant several unwanted compliments, growing worse now that she'd turned eighteen. "With a body like that, it would be easy to get money off men" Amongst many other demeaning remarks, was what her uncle would say, whenever she needed one basic thing or another from him. She'd never really been interested in things considered suitable for kids her age, her uncle's words never leaving the back of her mind, afraid she'd turn out like he'd said. After stretching out her upper body, Divine got out of bed, feet landing on the floor sluggishly as she muttered to herself about how she was going to be late for school. She was quick to snap out of her sleepy haze, the line of chores waiting for her an effective wake up call. She pushed her feet into her slippers, grabbing her robe and pulling it over her body before she hurriedly rushed out of her room, careful not to make any loud noises to wake her uncle and his wife up. She made quick work of sweeping around the big house, hoping her uncle's insufferable wife wouldn't notice the spots she missed before rushing into the kitchen to whip something up for breakfast. She settled for Churros, pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice, which she hurriedly prepared, having some of it before rushing back to her room to take her bathe and before 7:30, she was rushing out of the house with a sigh of relief. She'd successfully made it to school before the bell sounded, hurrying down the hallways before she bumped into someone, sending the books that were held to her chest flying, landing all around them, the bottle of orange juice she'd taken from home spilling out of her hand too. "Watch where you're going! Are you blind?!" The person she'd bumped into, spat loudly and she gasped when she looked up to see the person. A man, obviously taller than her sneered down at her, his handsome features pulled into a frown, no doubt because his shirt that was now stained with orange juice, clung to his toned body like a second skin. "Oh I am sorry, I didn't see you there, I was.... running late, so I just, I'm sorry" She rushed to apologize, getting back on her feet from where she'd been scrambling to pick her books. And she missed the way his eyes widened at the sight, breath catching in his throat as he stared down at her body appreciatingly. "Oh that's fine. I should've looked where I was going" He says, scratching his nape, his eyes never leaving the silver of cleavage her uniform spared, she was surprised to say the least when a smile accompanied his words, no malice behind them like at first. "No, it's my fault, I'm sorry" She said, looking at him apologetically before she was stuttering out, "I- I can't pay for your dry cleaning but I really am sorry and I hope my apology would suffice" she muttered. "This is nothing. Apology accepted, but you'd have to tell me your name though. I'm Liam. I work here....Janitor" he introduced, extending his hand for a handshake. "Divine. Nice to meet you" -End Of Flashback- "I curse the day I met you" Divine yelled out, the sound of the rain hitting the ground drowning out her voice. "I wish I'd never met you! And if I could turn back time, I'd live the day I met you a little differently" she cried, breaking down again as she sunk back into a squat and cried some more.
She was all drenched by the rain by the time she got home. The pain in her chest that still felt like it was squeezing tightly, numbing the one from her feet that had been walking for an hour in the rain. "Now she stood in front of that same house, the first home she'd ever known until she walked out of it like it was nothing, just a few months ago. She realize now that it had been a bad decision, the worst she had made all her life, no doubt. How would she face her uncle now that she was proof that all those words he'd said were no lie.
Coming back home after going to live with a man after the first date, carrying his child, how depreciating" -A Few Months Ago- It was quite obvious that she and the guy, Liam had hit it off, at least at the last few seconds of their first meeting. She was a bit giddy when they spoke again after school, thankfully biting back an overly excited 'Yes' when he'd asked if he could see her outside of the school setting the next day, being a weekend. She was excited to say the least, trying not to get too ahead of herself, but it was her first 'kind of a date'. They'd agreed to meet at a diner, Suga's, which was just a few blocks away from school and she knew it wasn't that big of a deal, but she still wanted to look her best, Liam was handsome, and he had a nice smile, it was safe to say she developed a crush in a small space of time, blame it on how good he was with words, making her blush with every compliment he sneaked in their conversation and the amount of attention he'd given in that small period of time, different than the predatory, uncomfortable one she'd been used to getting. Checking herself out in the full length mirror, she nodded at how she looked, after three hours of rummaging through her wardrobe and almost screaming about having nothing to wear, she was finally satisfied with the ripped jeans she had on, paired with a white body suit and a jean jacket pulled over it, the black Vans on her feet finishing the look. She looked at herself from every possible angle, admiring her choice of dressing before she heard the loud voice from downstairs that had a frown etching unto her face. "Divine! Divine, where are you" she heard the voice call, before it muttered in a not very low voice, "is she even at home at all" She allowed him call her a few more times, cursing under her breath that he was home before she was replying loudly. "I'm here!" She replied, rushing out of her room and skipping a few stairs as she hurried down to where he was stood. She probably should've expected the look on his face when he finally caught sight of her, scanning her from head to toe before speaking. "What are you wearing" "It's just some clothes. I have to go meet a- a friend" she stuttered, never being a good liar. "Oh? So you've grown wings now, is that it?" He said with a brow raised, "You think you can now leave this house in broad daylight to go be a wh*re, huh? Like your pr*stit*te of a mother?" He chewed out, pulling hard at the jacket she wore, the action pulling her towards the man but he was quick to push her backwards. She blinked at his harsh words, pulling the jacket over her shoulder again. "Uncle, I am no whore....and don't talk about my mother like that. I just want to go meet with my friends" She defended but that only seemed to anger him more, the ringing in her ear that followed her words, a clear proof of his anger. "You think you can talk back to me now, you little sl*t!?" he barked as she held unto her cheek that now stung, tears brimming in her eyes. "F*ck you!" She finally yelled out, the suppressed anger finally seeping through the seams as she glared at her uncle who looked taken aback at the outburst. "Seriously, fuck you! And your wife and everything that makes you think it's okay to treat me this way when you're staying in my father's house and living off his wealth ! What exactly have I done to be treated this way! Was it my fault that I lost my parents? Why do you hate me so much! Everyday I've had to spend living with you has been one kind of torture or another! I hate it here and I refuse to keep living like this" She cried, not at all expecting a reply as she turned back around, still holding unto her cheek as she ran back upstairs. She got back to her room, the heap of clothes on the bed making it easy for her as she grabbed a carry on and stuffed an array of randomly selected clothes in it, tears streaming down her face. When she walked back down, the older man was still rooted in his spot, right where she'd left him, the surprise morphing into newly found anger when he saw the bag she was holding as she walked past him and made her way to the door. "If you go through that door, I want you to know that you're never to come back to his house" He gritted out and she chuckled bitterly. "Like I said earlier, I've had enough. I am eighteen now and I graduate high school soon, I should be able to live my life the way I want. I'd rather live under a bridge then continue to put up with this" She ended, slamming the door after her as she finally walked out of the house. It was now 20 minutes past the time they'd agreed to meet, and yes, Divine had thought about just not showing up as she probably looked a mess right now and couldn't go to him with that bag. After walking aimlessly for a bit though, she decided against it. Liam had done nothing to be stood up and she could use some positive interaction right now, so with a final nod of determination, she fixed her face and started the march toward the diner. When she got there, she peaked into the place, easily finding Liam, sitting alone in the not very crowded diner, looking around uneasily every once in a while. 'What a gentleman' she thought to herself, before finding a place to hide her bag, somewhere next to the trash cans. "Hi" She said, Liam immediately turning around with wide eyes, before she walked in front of him and took her seat. "Oh, Hey, I thought you weren't gonna come and I got stood up" He immediately joked lightheartedly and she forced a smile. "I'm sorry for wasting your time, I had a prior engagement that took a bit more time than I'd expected" she lies and he nodded in understanding. "That's fine, you're here now." He picked the menu off the table, looking up at her again. "Anything you'd like?" "I'm not picky" she replied with a smile and he hummed. "Most people would say their favorite foods, but I guess you don't have one" He said and that seemed to make her think, she'd never really liked any food to the point of tagging it a favourite. She just ate whatever she could get. She eats to survive. By the time she snapped out of her thoughts, the waiter she hadn't realized he had hailed was walking back to get their orders. They fell into a light hearted conversation afterwards, the waiter walked back into with two burgers and cokes and they ate between Liam sharing funny stories and Divine's laughter filling the air. He was easy to talk to, proving to be good company, if the way she'd lost track of time was anything to go by. "Woah, it's dark already?" Liam said, his palms rubbing up his thighs as he looked out the window, her eyes widening as she followed his line of sight. "What time is it?" She asked and he raised his wrist to his face. "Uhhhh..... six thirty" he read and she was almost jumping out of her seat. "I have to go!" She hurriedly stood up, Liam getting on his feet in alert too. "Hey, calm down, why are you in such a hurry? I can drop you home if you'd like" He offered and in that moment, it felt like she'd been doused in cold water, the realisation washing over her. "I- I don't have a home to go back to" She muttered and his eyes widened. "Huh?" He asked and her eyes were already filling with tears when she spoke. "I rebelled against my uncle and well, I can't go back home anymore" she sniffed and Liam stepped closer to her, his eyes widening. "Oh? You can stay with me then!" He suggested, clearing his throat when his excitement seemed too evident. "I mean, it's not a big house, but you can get the bedroom and I can sleep in the living room, how's that?" She couldn't believe what she was hearing, yes, she was rather impulsive when she left home with nothing at all planned, but this was all too sudden. "What? No I can't do that, I- I just met you" She reasoned and he shook his head. "I promise no harm will come to you, I'm not a creep" He said and she panicked, thinking he got the wrong idea. "No I don't mean that, I don't want to be an added burden to you or inconvenience you in any way, we're still strangers to some extent" she said and he dramatically held unto his chest. "You hurt me with your words, Dee, you're no longer a stranger to me, I promise you won't be a burden" They went back and forth for a few more minutes and Liam was so convincing, that at the end of the day, she found herself being ushered into his car as he tossed her bag to the back seat, rounding the car to get into the driver's side. Relaxing into the comfy seat, Divine thought to herself, 'what's the worst that could happen' it's not like she hadn't been through a whole lot in her few years of life already. ".." Little did she know that the worst was yet to come,Liam the perfect man, with everything good. he was a sweet talker to say the least, everything he says just made sense at that time, I could have seen the red flags but I choose to be blinded by my feelings, these feelings that I thought were real, was all a mirage and here I am going back to the very place I would never go back to.
In just a few hours my life came crashing down. The person who had once given me the world, took it all away without an ounce of pity. Just how cruel can this world get? I was beginning to feel a lot like the words my uncle spat at me whenever he got a chance. I was a whore after all, used and discarded like some kind of trash. I cried some more, my mind trailing back to what had been some of the best moments of my life with the man who had just broken my heart into pieces.
When Liam parked in front of a small apartment, I took a while to scan the surroundings before his hand landed on the small of my back again, leading me in with one arm, while the other held my bag in a firm grip. Every other day that came afterwards, had me wondering where Liam had been all my life. He was perfect. A gentleman, respectful and never for once made me feel uncomfortable, even though sometimes I felt bad due to the fact that I was a kind of liability, he was quick to brush it off with reassurance. We'd been living together for about a month now. Everything went smoothly, Liam treated me like a princess, always making sure I had whatever I wanted, without asking for anything in return. I went to school like normal, sometimes Liam and I walked together, it was also his workplace after all. I realized he didn't go to work on some days, and seeing as we'd never lacked anything, I wondered if he was doing anything else on the side, but I decided to brush it off, not wanting to pry into his private life. We basically talked about everything, he'd have told me if he wanted to. When months started climbing over each other, Liam and I got closer, unsurprisingly. Within this time, we'd confessed our feelings to each other, living together made the whole 'getting to know each other' phase very easy. Becoming his girlfriend was another one of the most thrilling rides of my life. He became even more wonderful, if that was possible. From movie nights, to cuddle sessions and random dates in the middle of the day, I felt wanted, loved and treasured. Although after a few months of dating and never going past the quick peck on the lips and warm embraces, I started to crave for more. I wasn't blind, Liam was a fine man, down to his pinkie. I've had the pleasure of seeing him walk out of the shower in his bare chested glory a couple of times and that served to be the subject of my wet dreams on a lot of nights, coupled with the morning wood that always had my cheeks filling with color on mornings I had to wake him up. 'Maybe he was waiting for me to make a move?' I thought. He'd always been too much of a gentleman as far as my knowledge went. With a final nod of determination, I decided I was going to let it on. I was sure he wanted me too, if his dark gazes that always had me squirming in my seat on nights that I dressed a little too scantily were anything to go by. It was a cold Wednesday night when I decided it was time. Three days after I graduated high school and Liam had taken me out to celebrate, a candle lit dinner at a hotel that was definitely way above his pay grade as a janitor. Anyways, It just felt like the right time, I owe a lot to Liam and I wanted to please him and be useful in any way I could. It was another one of those days where he left for 'work' and never came back until the dark hours of night, so I took the chance to get myself ready. I wasn't very skilled in that field so by getting ready, I meant shaving and wearing the skimpiest night dress I'd gotten a few weeks ago, a lot of cleavage on display and pulling the sheer robe over my shoulder. Liam had always been appreciative of anything I wore and he was never afraid to show it. I was sure he'd like this, hopefully enough to get him to touch me. When I heard a knock on the door, I remained unmoving from where I was sat at the edge of the bed, nerves still a mess. He always had a key with him, and when I heard the rattle from the door, I knew he was using it. I wanted him to meet me like this, ready, willing and pliant. "Dee?" He called, walking further into our now shared apartment. I struggled to calm my nerves when his footsteps got closer, and finally, he was pushing the door open. Safe to say he was pleasantly surprised, his eyes widening as he stood by the door frame for a few seconds. Finally snapping out of the trance he was in, he walked closer, his eyes fixed on me. "Did you drink?" I asked, the moment he was close enough, nose scrunching. "I thought you were at work" I added and he knelt at my feet, the stench of alcohol prominent in the air. "I got fired today" he rasped out. "Some guy broke in and got away with something, so I had to take the fall" he explained and I bit my lip tentatively, well, it looked like I'd just managed to pick the wrong day. He stood back up, shaking his head before making his way out of the room again, staggering as he walked into the living room and threw himself on the couch. "I'm sorry to hear about that" I muttered, following after him. "That's okay, I'll get another place" he simply replied as I now took a seat next to him. "Dee?" He suddenly called out, turning to face me. "Yeah?" I answered lowly, his eyes trailing down my body again. "How long have you been living here?" He asked and my brows raised. "Uh...... it should be about four months now" I answered before adding a small "Why?" I already started to wonder if I did something wrong, prompting his question, but he smiled, turning to face me totally. "Nothing. I just wanted to know if I've been....good" he drawled out, his large palm landing in my naked thigh. My breath caught in my throat, I immediately knew what he was implying and I was very much on board. Before too many thoughts would fill my head and make me chicken out, I immediately leaned in, pressing my lips against his. He was taken off guard for a few seconds before he regained composure and began to lead the kiss like he always did. I was already breathless as he deepened the kiss, but his hand laid limply on my knee and that didn't sit right with me, so I reached for it and lead it atop one of my boobs, moaning into his mouth when he immediately squeezed like his life depended on it. After a few seconds, he pulled away, looking at me with spit slicked lips. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, making me melt, feeling more confident in my decision. "Yes" I replied. And like a sheep being led to the slaughter house, I was led to the bedroom. Where he made me sit on the bed before slowly undressing me, his eyes soaking up every trail of skin that was revealed to his hungry eyes. 'another great decision' I sighed to myself when he went down on me like it was nothing, burying his face between my thighs for a period of time I couldn't even fathom seeing as how I was a mess of drool and slick by the time he pulled away. My legs were already shaky by the time he pulled them over his shoulder, pulling a loud cry out of me when he finally buried himself deep in my no longer virgin hole. Like a fool, I babbled along to the demeaning words he spat as he thrust into me at an obviously skilled pace, ripping high after high from my body. I wasn't sure how long we went until I passed out, but judging by the devilish smirk that loomed over me before my eyes fell shut, I was sure it didn't end when I passed out. After that day, it was as though the gates of his lust burst open, giving way to a flood, which came in form of his insatiable sexual hunger. It wasn't even less than a week since my first that he'd taken me on almost every surface of his house. From the kitchen counter to the cold surface of an open fridge. And I should've noticed a few changes in his behavior ever since, but I was obviously still blinded by how I felt about him. He seemed more aggressive, especially with his words, more distant and less attentive, the only time he paid attention to me being when he wanted to sheath himself under my skirt. But it was fine, he was all I had and he was still here. Unlike everybody else in the life I left behind. I didn't think too much about it, he'd recently lost a job and that must've been keeping him on edge. He still gave me kisses before we had to seperate everyday. It was fine. We were fine. . "Get up" I heard the voice say and I peeled my eyes open, sparing a glance at the alarm clock on the table that read 06:00 AM. Liam loomed over me. Unimpressed look on his face and I pushed myself up with my elbows. "What's going on? It's just 6AM" I asked, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. It was a Saturday, he and I had nowhere to be in the early hours so we usually just slept in, until I had to leave for my shift as a cashier in the store I started to work at in order to support him. "What do you mean just 6AM, get up!" He demanded, harsher this time. "Liam?" I said, giving him a questioning look, but he ignored me, turning around and walking into the en-suite bathroom. By the time he walked out, I was still sitting on the bed and he frowned. "I thought I told you to get up" he gritted out. "My friends are coming over today, make the house presentable" I blinked at his words "You didn't mention anything about that to me" I muttered. "I have to put things through you in my own house?" He asked with a raised brow, grabbing a shirt and pulling it over his shoulders. "N- no it's just, I thought-" "Nevermind. Well I just told you. They'll be staying here for a while too, so there's that" He said, doing the last buttons before grabbing a pair of slacks and pulling it up his legs. "Get the house ready before I get back, for your own good" he said, the bedroom door shutting behind him and after a few seconds, the living room door slammed shut too. I blinked in confusion. That was definitely new. I was still confused about the whole situation but I hurriedly got out of bed, rushing to put the house in order which didn't take a lot of time. I figured I'd get something ready too, just in case his friends were hungry, so I made some food before rushing to the bathroom and getting ready to leave for work. I guess I should've known we've started falling apart since then. I spoke to him about the changes I noticed one night, but he brushed it off, saying he'd gotten a new job and that was taking a lot of his time. I cried myself to sleep on the same bed I'd caught him with another woman one of those days. I found a glock and a white substance I'd rather not think about in his wardrobe once and we had an argument about it, ending with him telling me to not go through his stuff and to quit being an 'ungrateful whore'. It was one argument or the other after that, even though there were days when it felt like I had the perfect life with Liam again, they were short-lived when he got ticked off by the simplest things. I should've known. Now I was pregnant with his child, thrown out of his house and wished I hadn't been so blind to all the signs that were thrown in my face.
