Mr and Mrs contract

She rolled again on her bed when the alarm went off, she doesn't want to stand up from the bed. Her sleep is so sweet to be distributed by one lousy alarm.

God knows Monday mornings is always like a disaster to her in her life, that's why she doesn't go to church and father Michael as been calling her and of course she as been ignoring his call because she can't say that she is sleeping in on the lord's day.

But then God understand the reason why she as been doing this.

She rolled again on her bed and pulled the duvet over her head,

"one more minute just give me one more minute"

She cried and for her that day work, is really a no no.

But then she needs to go no matter what, life when you got no money.

But also then.....one more minute.

"When are you giving me my great grandson?"

Mr Rogers said hitting his hands on the chair he is sitting on as looked at his grandson Ryan.

"Honey calm down" his grandma said.

"You should be brothered about a guy who cares, look at him acting like you are not talking to him, I didn't raise him well he used to be sweet and obedient and now he grew up to resemble is grandfather" his grandma added and sighted.

"Is that like a abuse?" Mr Rogers asked, peeping at his wife through his glasses.

"It's more like the fact" Mrs Rogers replied.

"Grandfather I am not ready for marriage yet, like not now, why do you think am not into any relationship? It's because am not ready yet and the. Marriage are you kidding me?" Ryan said and laughed.

"You are not ready for relationship you say? Then very well I guess I need to collect my shares from you" Mr Rogers concluded, and picked up his newspaper.

"Well that's not a problem I have grandma's share it's more than Enough" Ryan said and smiled

'i am removing mine too" Mrs Rogers said and picked up a magazine to.

"Are you going with him, I thought you said I am your most precious grandson in the universe is your love changing that quickly" Ryan asked surprised, at his grandmother sudden change of mind.

"I also need a great grandson, to don't blame me" Mrs Rogers said.

"Okay I would adopt" Ryan said hopefully, that would be a solution.

"Adopt who?"the Rogers asked in unison.

"A great grandson, who else Are we talking about?" He asked with his hands.

"Does it look like am joking young man?" Mr Rogers got furious.

"I Am not also joking. people do that this days adopting stuffs" Ryan took a sip from his drink.

Mr Rogers stood on his feet and hit his walking stick on the floor and he adjusted his glasses and walked away and he knows that, that behavior means anger, Mr Rogers just got angry, at him because of a great grandson.

He looked at his grandma for support but the old woman just followed her husband he sighted. What is he expecting from a old couple anyways? They are always together.

"They should be happy to have a grandson and now they want a great grandson that's a unique prayer, even I don't want a son. Disadvantages of growing old"

Ryan thought as he also made his way outside to get ready to go to the company.

Astoria rushed into the building like a lighting, she was really going to sleep for one minute but she ended up sleeping for two hours and now she is super late, she couldn't greet everyone who greeted her because she is a dead meat if Mr. Ryan doesn't meet her on her desk. And she is not ready to be roasted on a Monday morning.

She rushed to her desk and prepared her self well as the personal assistant that she is.

She changed her slippers to a seven inches heel and released her hair, she also applied her make up and wore on her cologne.

"Nobody is gonna know just nobody" she stood straight and stood formally to welcomed Mr. Ryan who is already on his way to the office after visiting his grandparents.

Thank goodness that she didn't get a second late if not she would have been long gone, that's why she didn't have her bath anyways.

Ryan walked inside the building with his bodyguard more like men in suit, immediately he entered everyone stopped what they were doing and started greeting him, not that he replies but they greet him anyway. He is the boss anyways.

He walked to his office and pursed when he got to Astoria's desk.

"Good morning sir" she greeted.

"Miss Astoria I would just pretend that I did not know that you resumed work five minutes ago" Ryan said and smiled.

"Excuse me?" Astoria asked both sacred and surprised.

"Just bring my schedule for today and let's just pretend" Ryan said and looked away from her.

"Am sorry sir" Astoria said with her head bowed.

Astoria watched as he entered the office, who is she lying to? Who can hide things from him? That rat he knows everything just everything.

"That's spoilt brat, let's just pretend" she mimicked.

She hissed and sat down as she prepared his file for schedule, she has forgotten that she is working with the most...... She doesn't even know how to put it. He is far from being a human and a animal is an understatement.

She entered his office and he shouted.

"Can't you knock?" She got scared and ran back to the door.

"Oh sorry I would go outside and knock again am really sorry" she apologized immediately.

"Don't worry, just come inside" Ryan said.

Astoria sighted and walked to him and stood opposite his table.

"Your schedules got canceled by your grandfather." She said putting down the files.

"What!?" Ryan said shouting and standing up.

"Well he set up blind dates for you like five of them" she explained calmly.

"Wait what five? And you allowed him to do that?" He fixed his eyes on her angrily.

"Was I supposed to, stop him? the chairman?" She asked surprised.

"Aren't you my secretary?" Ryan shouted at her.

"So was i supposed to say no Mr Ryan? I .can't do that to the chairman?, just go for the blind dates Mr Ryan I can't lose my job" she too almost shouted.

"Are you commanding me miss. Astoria?" Ryan placed his hands on his waist.

"No, like your grandfather asked you to go and dates and you are blaming me for accepting his proposal" she said and closed her eyes, she just exhausted all her boldness.

Ryan sighted and looked around, this his a disaster he said to him self, he is really not ready for marriage, why are they doing this to him huh!?.

He then looked up at her and asked, the most shocking question Astoria as ever heard.

"Miss. Astoria do you have a boyfriend?"

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

Mr Ryan asked searching her eyes for answers.

"Excuse me?"

Astoria said surprised at his weird question.

"Did you want me to repeat my question?" Mr Ryan asked looking irritated

"If you can, Then I would appreciate it " she said with a smile on her face.

"I asked if you have a boyfriend?" He folded his heads together and asked.

"No I don't" Astoria replied faking smiles as always.

"You don't look like someone that as anyways "

Ryan replied gently although audibly.

"Excuse me?" Astoria asked annoyed, but she had to keep that smile on her face.

"What? Oh nothing I wasn't talking to you. Can you prepare me for the Dates please send the location to my driver and all" Ryan said fixing his gaze to his computer, Doing nothing.

"Yes sir" Astoria said bowing her head slowly.

"And you can go home early since I won't be in today " He gave her the order.

"Yes sir" Astoria walked out of the office with her heels re echoing.

Astoria gently closed the door and suddenly made a fake punch at the door.

"Oh he is so annoying, I don't look like someone that as a boyfriend? Who made me single. That nut job, I feel like punching his face oh so annoying" she adjusted her hair and relaxed by breathing in and breathing out, she is so annoyed with him. "Does even has one himself, that spoilt brat"

"Look at the smirk when he said I don't look like someone that as, does he have himself, he can't even set a blind date on his own. So hopeless" she laughed at him.

she went back to her desk and started working on what he asked for, she is so engrossed in what she is doing when her phone brought her to reality she stopped what she is doing and checked the phone and it read like this.

"Your Loan is due please pay on time or 6% interest would be added to it"

Astoria sighted as she dropped the phone on the table. She knows they don't need to remind her ans it's not like she is delaying the payment on purpose, she just don't have the money.

She continued with her typing she has to get this done before he comes out of the office and start ranting,she is really not ready for him.

Her phone buzzed again and she checked it thinking it might be some good news, but what good news is she expecting?

"You house rent as not been paid yet, please pay on time" That is her landlord.

Then she switched off her phone and faced her work. She had dues upon dues her student loans, hospital bill, electricity water and so on and her salary is just not Enough. It's solves, one quarter of her problems.

She had no one she could turn to, she as no family, she grew up all on her own with her aunt who is now abroad, she she hasn't been in touch for years, she is not sure of she is Even dead or alive.

And her friends to have their own dues to pay she can't add her own to their own problem, she just doesn't want to be a additional burden to them.

Ryan walked out of the office and stopped at Astoria's desk, to ask her a few questions before going for the ridiculous blind date.

He placed his hands on her table and looked into her eyes and just walked away. He wanted to say something but he just walked away, she didn't even see him.

She sniffed and sniffed again how is she going to pay all what she needs to pay?

She can't do part time because she is already a full time worker, were would she sleep when she gets sent out of the house, she did not even notice when Mr Ryan passed, she just continue typing with tears in her eyes, she also wish to live a happy life.

She wiped her eyes and continued typing, why doesn't easy life come by to everyone?

Ryan wondered why Astoria Is crying, did he say anything mean to her? It looks serious, did any of her family die? She doesn't have one then why is she crying? He is so disturbed that he couldn't concentrate very well, while he has walking, he even hit his head on the elevator.

"That was painful" he rubbed his head and placed his hands in his pocket.

As he entered his car, he still continued thinking about the situation. But he couldn't just lay his hands on it, he was so brothered.

"Boss miss Astoria has sent the location for the blind dates and I would be on my way now"

the driver said bowing his heads repeatedly that Ryan got worried that he might hit his head on the car .

"Wait blind date? could she be crying because of the blind date? But why? I should be the one crying for that? Is she sorry for me that i am forced to get married against my will" He thought within himself, and smiled.

"Not the blind dates, now take me to Harry's office for now" He told the driver.

"Yes sir" the driver said and started driving immediately.

"So she is crying because you are going on a blind dates" Harry said siping his coffee in his office while looking at his best friend.

"Yes, do you think so Harry" Ryan asked taking his cup of coffee too.

"How sure are you that she is crying because of that?"Harry asked and Ryan sighted.

"She stopped smiling ever since I told her about the fact that I would go for the date"

"Hmmmm then it means only one thing"Harry said and gestured to Ryan to move closer.

"What is that?"Ryan asked moving close to him

"She likes you" He whispered.

"Me? Who?" Ryan whispered back.

"Who are we talking about?" Harry asked adjusting his suit.

"Astoria? Never"

"Look at it in the bigger picture, her tears means please don't go look at me am beautiful to why won't you look at me?"Harry said demonstrating.

"Oh no wonder she applied more make up today than usual" Ryan placed his hands on his lap.

"She did?" Harry asked.

"Yes she looked sooo... pretty " Ryan said with all seriousness.

"Did you look at her to that extent? I guess you are in love to" harry said.

"No never she is not my style"

She got off work early and walked to her house while wondering what she is going to eat, she should have stayed at the office and ate lunch but she just wants to go home.

She saw series of papers in her doorstep they were all letters of money, she just picked them up and entered her house.

When she entered she kept them were she normally keeps things like that and lied flat on her bed.

Her phone began to ring and she checked the screen it is her boss, quickly she placed the phone on her ear and the first sentence she heard is.

"Miss Astoria let's talk for a minute "

She wasn't sure about what he is talking about when he said that they need to talk.

Isn't he going for blind dates again or he wants to add to her problems, she is really not in the mood for all his pranks and his disturbance this evening.

"Astoria are you still there?" His voice came through the phone and she came to life.

"Yes sir am still there" Astoria said sitting well on her bed with her phone placed tightly on her ears.

"I said we need to talk" He repeated, this time with a low voice.

"I would see you tomorrow then" Astoria said and nodded like he can see her.

"No today" Ryan insisted

"Today?" She asked surprised.

*What prank is he trying to pull this time?* Astoria thought within herself.

"Am sorry sir but am really busy, I think you should focus on your date let's talk tomorrow, bye for now sir" she said and cut the phone, before he says another thing to stop her, and make her come at all cost.

She cut the call and sighted, she walked slowly to the freezer to get water, she opened the bottle and slowly drank all the content, she felt much better.

She needs to fix her life now and not to worry about a guy who as all the world in his hands. But then what does he really want to say.

"She cut the call" Ryan said to his best friend and rested his back on the sofa and crossed his legs.

"She cut the call?" Harry asked surprised and also resting his back on the chair.

"And you said she likes me? How come she hangs the call before me? Is that what women do to men they like?" Ryan said looking Harry with a angry face, he also felt kind of embarrassed.

"Hmmm then she probably got angry for calling her late" Harry said sipping his tea, and also bringing up a new idea.

"Is that really it? She sounded like she doesn't want to talk to me. Anyways I got to go grand father would freak out if I don't go" Ryan said standing up and adjusting his suit.

"I feel so sorry for you Ryan" Harry said also standing up .

"I feel sorry for myself to, but anyways see you soon"

Ryan smiled at his friend and left his office to his date.

Astoria walked inside the store with her hood, she picked up some few things and also some expired product and went to the counter.

"I told you to stop picking up expired product Astoria I mean you work in one of the biggest company to one of the biggest boss, your should be as rich as fu*k" her best friend said.

The only friend she ever has.

"I know right? My life is so hard" Astoria said bringing out her card, to pay for the stuffs she bought.

"Why do you keep saying that your life his hard? I think you got the best life and no one is as brave as you I can't do half of what you do babe"

Her friend said parking her goods into a nylon for her.

"Well it's nothing to be sorry about cause it's not your fault "

"Thanks for the daily word of advice I would get going now" she smiled at her and left the store.

The evening breeze didn't feel well on her as she climbed the stairs to her house, she was so shocked when she saw her landlady knocking on her door repeatedly.

Immediately she saw her she ran towards her and greeted her profusely.

"Evening ma'am" she greeted as she rushed towards her.

"What is good about this Evening"Mrs Lee said moving close to her in anger.

"Is anything the problem Mrs. Lee" Astoria asked getting scared of what she hasn't said.

"Move out by Tomorrow" Mrs Lee said simply.

"What?" Astoria asked both shocked and surprised.

"Why would I? I mean I would pay your rent and I would wire it to you now seriously Mrs Lee" Astoria said holding her hands.

"I don't care I really don't want to see you again just go and let a better tenant take the place" Mrs Lee said freeing herself from her grip.

"I have nowhere to go Mrs Lee" Astoria said in the mist of tears.

"I don't care just move out" the woman shouted.

Mrs Lee . Took a last look at her and hissed Mrs lee walked away angrily leaving Astoria in a devastated state.

She got really close to tears because she really as no where to go to and no one to turn to.

Life is really hard on her .

He sipped his wine again as the girl went on talking about how expensive her shoes and purse and clothes and stuff that doesn't interest him.

But then he had to have a good impression on her because of his grandparents, but he is getting really bored.

"Then they did not have Dior I had to travel to travel all the way to Paris to get one, it was so expensive but I need to look good" the girl said.

"Oh" Ryan said and sipping his wine again

"Did I tell you about how I got my fingers fixed?" She showed him.

"Your fingers?"

"Yes, after styling my hair at Japan they did not find the paint I want to I had to travel to........."

On and on she went on talking and talking without stopping.

even if she is the only woman that remains on the plant he would rather remain single, he doesn't like women who talks a lot.

He checked his phone again to see if Astoria texted him, but she did not, he is really getting disappointed in her but he doesn't know why, he shouldn't be thinking about that now what he should be thinking about is how to leave the mess that he got himself to. But she doesn't look like she would stop any moment soon.

Astoria sat on her bed and bit her lips, she looked round the house and sighted, she has to park out but she has no where to stay.

She picked up her phone and Dialed her friend's number, she is not sure if her friend would let her stay with her, but at that moment she is the only she has. And she knows Nicole she won't ignore her when she needs her the most. So she had to call her.

"Hello?"

"Hey Astoria"

"Nicole are... You ? Hello....." She heard someone in the background but she isn't sure how the person is.

"Babe you should stop placing your socks everywhere" Nicole shouted at whosoever she is with

"Babe?" Astoria said surprised

"Sorry Astoria it's Dave?" Nichole said laughing.

"Dave? Where is he there at this hour?"

"Oh we live together, he is preparing for law exam so I told him to live with me and besides am lonely. But then why are you calling at this hour?"

"Nothing, just nothing"

"Really, good night then I need to cook for him"

"Oh good night" Astoria said and cut the call off.

So right now as from tomorrow she is really homeless.
