CLEOPATRA
Some people wished for a luxurious life, but I wanted a peaceful life. A home and a family that would love me like their own. My name's Cleopatra. I was in my final year in business college and an adopted child, someday I was hoping to find my biological parents very soon.
It might sound weird but I wanted to know who they were. If I have to scurry into every damn hole, I would surely do it.
I looked in the direction of the door when I heard a cracking sound. Dad just stepped inside, carrying a cake.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday princess. Did you sleep well?" He sang as he walked over and placed the cake on the bed. He moved to the other side and then planted a soft kiss on my forehead.
"Of course Dad. I even snored like a baby." We laughed. He ruffled my hair while smiling. "How about you?"
"Same as yours darling. I've been thinking of a gift for your birthday but I can't decide what to buy. What do you want, princess? Car or diamond necklace." I rested my chin like I was thinking.
"Really dad? What if I say I want something different?"
"I know what she's thinking, Dad." Brenda interrupted. I didn't expect to see her in my room. It was a surprise to see her.
"What's that Brenda?"
"She wants to celebrate with her friends. Right, Cleo?" I shrugged without responding. She was right but Dad wouldn't allow us to party.
"If that's what you girls, who am I to say no? Is there anything else you want?"
"Money for the party," I said immediately.
"Promise me you won't have anything alcoholic." I nodded. Brenda stood still watching us. I didn't know what she was thinking but she seemed unhappy about it, her countenance was proof.
"We promise you, Dad." my best moment ever was whenever Dad was around. I didn't know what happened to Mum, she wasn't affectionate like she used to be.
"Okay. Once you are ready let me know. Returning home early, it's dangerous to stay out late. You all know the city isn't safe. Do you get it?"
"Yes, Dad. Let's blow the candles." I blew air on the candles and cut the cake.
"Merry happy birthday honey." I fed Dad the cake I cut and I offered Brenda some but she looked away.
"Let me take a bath, I look awful in this nightdress." I stepped down from the queen-size bed. Dad excused us while leaving Brenda and me in the room.
"Are you happy? I thought you were going to ask for a car." She laughed sarcastically.
"Isn't that why you are here so I won't ask for it? If I need a car, I don't have to ask twice. It doesn't have to be my birthday gift." I scoffed. "I need my privacy now."
"If I don't leave what will you do?" She said with a mischievous smirk.
"Nothing, I've got nothing to do. Just ten seconds. Leave my room Brenda."
"I need a chair." She angled a chair close to the bed and straddled it. I take a deep breath before walking into the bathroom. She wanted to start a fight but I was not ready for that.
I would text Lisa, Dailey, and Karl later. I did all the necessary stuff in the bathroom, letting the warm water soothe my body. I used my fingers to brush my hair. I was thinking of dyeing my hair blue but the pink color suited me. I didn't bother to dye it so I stepped out of the bathroom.
I was hoping to see her in my room but she has left the room. "Thank goodness. I don't have to scream my lungs out." I let down the towel. I grabbed a brand-new dress from the wardrobe. I wore my underwear and then put on a sleeveless gown. The pink gown matched my hair. I squeezed my legs into four inches of heels. Checked out my reflection in the mirror before walking out of the room.
"Good morning Mom." I greeted Mom. She was setting up the table for our breakfast.
She didn't spare a glance. "Good morning." She replied, rather calmly or nonchalantly.
I waited a few seconds to see if she was going to wish me. However, she did. I decided to remind her, perhaps she has forgotten. "Mom, do you forget today is my birthday?"
She looked at me before shaking her head negatively.
"Of course not. Since your dad has already wished you, I don't think mine is necessary anymore. Happy birthday anyway."
I sat around the table. A bright smile craved my face when Dad showed up. "Honey, let's eat."
"Alma, what do you plan to give Cleopatra for her birthday gift?"
"Honey, I don't have such a plan in mind. I don't plan to give her anything, she's a grown-up woman already. She doesn't need anything and if she does, She should get a man." She said in an irksome manner. Dad threw a grimace at her before she could finish. "That's just a bitter truth." She added.
"What are you saying?" He asked hostilely.
"I'll get her a teddy bear." She said nonchalantly.
"What!"
I didn't utter a word, watching both of them. I was deeply hurt by her every word. My foster parents were aware that I was always terrified by the sight of a teddy bear. I didn't understand what had happened to her this morning.
"She's a grown-up woman, yeah I know. But every lady loves teddy bears."
"Do you forget she's phobia for teddy bears?"
She handed the cutlery set to Brenda.
"Oh, I forgot. I'm so sorry. I can't think straight because both of you are giving me a hard time. I don't want to talk cheap early in the morning, please." They must have fought last night or this morning, I could only sense it through the way both were replying to each other.
"Don't worry Mom, you can get me anything. Since it's coming from you, I'll accept anything." I uttered calmly.
"Whatever. Everyone, let's eat. I'm not ready for any unnecessary talk today."
We all ate in silence. It was obvious Dad didn't want to get on her wrong side too. Suddenly she put down the cutlery and left the dining room.
I sighed softly. "Dad, did you two fight again?" I asked.
"You know your mother. I don't have to deal with her unnecessary nags all the time." He complained.
"Just let it go, Dad. You should go in and talk to her. I hate to see you two fight over a trivia matter. Please, Dad, today's my birthday so everyone should be happy, especially Mom."
He looked at my face and smiled brightly. "All right, dear. Are you heading out now?"
"Yes, I want to catch up with friends. I want to assist Karl with his project, he's almost done."
"That? OK, dear. Be careful."
I stood up and packed up.
"Sure I will." I took the dishes to the kitchen. After I was done cleaning up. I stepped out of the house after sending my friend text messages that I'd be coming over and that we should all meet up at Karl's apartment.

ADRIEN
"Did you just say sorry?" I yelled at the maid who was trembling with fear as she looked down at her feet. God knew I hated the word, 'sorry' all the time, they always made me feel like the worst person. I have warned them several times never to give me food that wasn't on my menu. I hate new things, especially the ones I knew it'd trigger my craving for blood.
Being a vampire has been hard especially if you were surrounded by humans. None of them knew what I was going to do, the pleasant smell of human blood... I wish I could taste one but I've never tasted human blood before. I was brought up without having a taste of human blood.
"I'm sorry sir." She fell on her knees and clasped her hands, begging me. Her presence only infuriated me even more, somehow I felt irritated.
"I told you never to say sorry. Are you insane?" I rasped, grabbed a cup, and threw it at her. She was lucky to have dodged it, I wasn't joking this time, I never joked.
"I, I-I'm, I don't know what else to say." She murmured feebly.
"You don't know what else to say, right? Let me help." I poured the cup of juice on her furiously.
"Ah... Please spare me. I promise never to do it again. It was a mistake."
"Really? All of you should come over here before I count to two." I ordered imperatively.
They dashed to the dining room, some of them almost stubbled. Some of them were already weeping but their tears wouldn't make me change my mind. I'd fire all of them today!
I looked at them all one after the other. I shook my head and grumbled silently. "You know what? You are all fired!"
"What? Please, sir. It was Dara who brought the idea, I knew nothing about it." Jane denied.
"Do I ask you to say something? Huh?"
She moved back nervously. Perhaps she knew what was coming next.
"What's going on here?" I heard Nelson's voice. I have no idea what he was doing here when he was supposed to be heading to work by now. I checked my watch and then shook my head. He's so dead today.
"Son of a bitch." I scoffed. "It's none of your fucking concern." I looked in his direction.
"Whatever that has to do with you is my goddamn concern. I thought you changed, Bud." Nelson blurted out.
"You shut the fuck up or you want me to suck your bloody soul out of you? When I'm talking you keep quiet. I pay them, they have no right to go against my order. You know how much I despise it when a maid gives me something that is not on my menu."
I tried to explain to him but at the end, he laughed it out like it was something trivia. This was what I despised about him, everything was a joke to him.
"Adrien, they didn't give you poison." He laughed like it was something funny. I lift a brow. I was trying so hard to conceal my temper but he was only making it worse for me. "Leave us now." He gave an order. None of them moved. They dare not stand up if they love their fucking lives. "I said you all should leave us alone." He repeated but none of them budged an inch.
"We can't."
"Adrien, please tell them to leave. I have something important to discuss with you."
"I ain't ready to listen to that important thing you have to say. I'm already late for work." I snapped. "If I return home and meet you all still in my mansion, it's a dead end for all of you,"
"Ethan, Ethan," I called out. He rushed out from his hideout. "What is wrong with all of you this morning?"
"I'm sorry sir." I glared at him. He was able to get a grip on himself.
I despise the word 'sorry'. It always made me feel like a terrible person. "Get my suit jacket and my briefcase. I'll be waiting for you in the car. Fifty seconds." I said and walked away.
"It seems like someone woke up on his wrong side today," Nelson said from behind.
"Nelson, not today." I cursed the day I saved him from a bloody sucker. "I should have let him have you for dinner that night if I knew you'd be this clingy."
"I'm stuck with you. You have no choice."
"Don't drive any of my cars and if I get to work before you. You are a dead man." I seethed. He knew when I was fooling around and when I wasn't. He knew I wasn't joking around when I said that. I hopped in the car then the driver drove out of the mansion.
***
"Mr. CEO has arrived." A lady hollered as they all queued up, bowing their heads as I walked past them.
Some of them were even drooling. I wasn't surprised. I'm every lady's dream. I have a pair of ocean-blue eyes and a luscious physique that could sweep any lady off her feet.
'Was I the one that hired them?' I thought as I walked ahead to the elevator. Maybe after work.
"Good morning sir." Amara, my secretary, greeted me while walking with me.
"Am I the one that hired those imbeciles?"
She chuckled as we took the elevator together. "Of course not. They are your workers, sir."
"They need replacements." We stepped out when the elevator door slid open.
"Are you done with those files?" We made our way toward my office. I stalked to the swivel chair to get seated.
"Yes sir and that's why I brought them along."
"Okay. Just put them down and leave." She placed them on the desk and walked out of my office.
Suddenly I felt unusual and thirsty. I was unable to feed before coming to the office. When I opened my laptop, I felt my eyes have changed and my fangs have elongated. I gritted my fangs and then relaxed in the chair.
"I surmise I'm a minute late," Nelson uttered, panting hard. I glanced over and then rolled my eyes. "Are you planning to devour someone now?" He said when he saw my fangs and eyes.
I rolled my eyes, then ran the heel of my tongue on my fangs. "I'm thirsty for blood," I said hungrily.
"No one must see you...." Nelson couldn't complete the statement when the door busted open.
"Sir I forgot to bring this along. What!"
ADRIEN
I widened my eyes when the door burst open. Nelson abruptly turned around to cover up for me but it was already late.
"Sir I forgot to... What!"
It took my eyes a few seconds to change, about my fangs, I got that covered. If she saw anything, she might think it was a hallucination.
"Where are our manners? Do I have to remind you all the time that you don't stomp into my office without permission unless I call you in? Are you that senseless to understand that?" I sneered, staring at her furiously.
She stood in the same spot with her mouth slightly opened. "I-I'm sorry sir... I, I. '' She stammered out a few words. She cleared her throat then she walked over. "I think this slipped when I was packing the files so I came to return it. Is there anything you'd like me to work on for now?" She asked.
"Nothing for now. I'll call you when I need you. Leave my office." I ordered sternly.
"All right sir." She nodded then walked out after glimpsing at Nelson who shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.
"Adrien, did she see anything?" He darted to my front. "Why ain't you angry?"
"I'm not sure and if she does we are going to talk about it later. I'm thirsty for blood, right now." He scoffed. He rolled over to a seat. "Or I should feed on you?"
"That's ridiculous. You'd rather starve yourself. You'd never suck human blood. Are you planning to feed in your office? Why don't you do that before leaving home?"
"I was going to but the maids infuriated me that I forgot to do that before leaving. I might not be able to control myself if I continue like this, I might even suck human blood. Nelson, I'm starving." I said grimly.
"What do you want me to do? Do you want me to feed you mine?" He uttered.
"Ew... Hell no! Why would I suck from your rotten blood? Ew, I'd rather devour Amara than suck your fucking blood." He narrowed his eyes dubiously.
"Wait, are you planning to kill her? I thought you don't suck human blood."
"Not really, I've never tasted human blood before but I'm planning to. Maybe tonight because all the blood I've been perceiving smells sweet." I said demurely. "I can feed on humans without killing them. There's a whole different method. The first time I don't know how it feels because I'm addicted to animal's blood."
"You can't do that to her. I thought you liked her."
"Like her? Oh, that's ridiculous. I'm afraid to fire her because I mightn't find someone as good as she is. This boring chat won't help me, I need to feed." I said hungrily.
"Are you going back home?" I stood up and then closed the laptop.
"Do you have the car key?" I asked while extending my hand for the key.
"You said I shouldn't drive any of your cars." He said as he made a funny face. I felt like sending him some punch, maybe that would restart his brain.
"You know what, never mind." I stalked out of the office with no destination in mind. I wasn't planning to go home.
I sniffed in the smells. It only triggered my cravings because human blood seemed special. I ignored everyone till I reached the parking lot. "Give me the key," I said to the driver. He looked confused.
"I can drive you to where you are heading. Please don't fire me, I haven't done anything wrong." Should I say I was more perplexed than him? Why would I fire him because he hasn't done anything?
"Just give me the key," I repeated.
"Please sir I'm sorry for whatever I've done unknowingly." I arched my brow. He was wasting my fucking time while holding the key. I had zero tolerance for patience.
"Just hand over the key already." I seethed coldly. He handed the key in fear. I overlooked it as I hopped in the car and drove out at full speed. "I'm not sure I hired those monkeys. Imagine?" I'd have to deal with all my workers later.
CLEOPATRA
I knocked on the door thrice but got no response. I waited by the doorstep and then knocked again. The door was opened, Karl. I was surprised when he used his hand to impede the way. He shook his head.
"Are you going to keep me out here, won't you tell me to come in?" I asked.
"Just a second." He shut the door dramatically without letting me in. I snapped my head around, wondering what was wrong with him.
"What's wrong with him?" I muttered to myself. After a few seconds, the door was opened again.
"Please come on in." He moved out of the way as he walked me in. "Ta-da."
I gasped at the sight.
"Happy birthday, baby doll!" They chorused.
I was nearly speechless when I looked around the living room. There were cakes, balloons, flowers, and more that I couldn't even mention.
"Lisa, Dailey, and you, Karl? This is a surprise." I covered my mouth in surprise.
"Happy birthday girlfriend and I love you so much." Melissa hugged me.
"Come on, let her go. I need to give her a warm hug too." Dailey said. I walked over. I couldn't describe how I felt but the feeling was good.
"Who planned this?"
"Karl's idea. He bought all this. My gift is going to be special." Lisa said.
"Well, I bought you a present and I hope you love it." She opened a box and unwrapped something. "I didn't know you'd be wearing a pink dress today. I'm so glad the pearl ribbon will match your outfit and hair."
"It's really pretty," I said cheerfully.
"Just your favorite color." She motioned me to turn around and I did. She packed my hair into a ponytail, using the ribbon. "It looks great on you."
"Everything looks great on her." Lisa rolled her eyes playfully. "I should have brought her something too." She muttered but I heard her. I placed a hand on her shoulder. I grinned as I played with her cheeks.
"You all have done enough."
"Aren't we starting the party?" Karl interrupted.
"I'm taking everyone out, let's party tonight." Said Lisa with a grin.
I slumped to a chair and then shook my head negatively. "I'm not interested. If you're planning to celebrate with me it should be here. I'm not intending to go out for a crowded celebration." I complained.
"We are clubbing tonight and you dare not say no to this," Karl said enthusiastically. He picked a pancake and forced it into my mouth.
"I'm not interested," I said with a mouthful.
"I'll have you dragged along," Dailey said.
I threw my hands in the air to surrender. "Whatever." I sighed loudly.

BRENDA
"That stupid child." I massaged her shoulders tenderly. "Your father and I have to fight over the same issue because of her. I'm afraid he'd favor her more than you." Mom uttered frustratedly.
"Why don't you return her to where you picked her from? You have me now and besides, you don't like her anymore." I sat beside her and then held her right hand.
"He doesn't want that. He said he had been the one taking care of her ever since she was a kid so that makes her his daughter. That's absurd."
"Ridiculous. Why would he say that? I'm his daughter after all. Why did he care so much about Cleopatra? Mother, if you don't do something about this I'm sorry I'll do something stupid." She grabbed my hands abruptly.
"Please dear, don't do such a thing. She has been our child before I gave birth to you... I know how hard it'd be for your father to abandon his adopted child but I promise you that I'll do something about it."
"I don't believe your words," I replied with a scowl.
"Believe me, Brenda. She'll leave this house very soon. Perhaps I'll ask your father to arrange a marriage for her. She's old enough for that after all." I was going to jump up out of excitement but I had to conceal it. I would want to back down.
"So I'm the one that owns the new car? I know you got the car for me." She lifted a brow, baffled. "You don't know anything about the car? You're not the one that bought the limo?"
"I don't know the car you're talking about. I didn't order any car..."
"Dad did..."
"He must've got it for you then."
"You think so? He didn't buy the car for me."
"How can you be this sure? Don't get it twisted. He'll hand over the key to you once he gets back from work."
"It's Cleopatra's. It's pink so definitely, he bought it for her as a birthday gift." I whimpered with frustration.
"What? Please Brenda look at me..." She cupped my cheeks to make me look at her. I shoved her hand, already pissed up. "Eh, Brenda."
"Leave me alone. I hate you all!" I walked out. I'm pissed. "I swear Cleo, you have to pay for this."
***
Adrien hasn't fed even when he left the company. Nelson was worried about him as he kept calling but Adrien chose to ignore the phone while it rang. He was at his favorite spot, perhaps waiting for that ugly old jerk.
The moon came out and the stars shone so bright. He was on top of the tower. He put his hands behind him and rested on them. His legs were swaying in the air.
"Are you waiting for me?" The voice was unfamiliar to him so he didn't bother to look behind him.
"Nope." He pouted and released the smoke from his mouth. The breeze caressed his face tenderly as he shut his eyes. "Don't mess up my mood, just leave." He said. His voice embedded caution, only if the vampire behind him listened.
Did he understand any slightest meaning in his sentence? Don't mess up my mood; you still have a chance to escape. Just leave; stay if you dare.
"You are waiting for Ging, aren't you?" He looked back and then teleported instantaneously from where he was sitting. He grabbed the guy's neck and shoved him against the wall.
His speed was extraordinary, it made the vampire wonder who the hell he was. He was strong.
"Did he use humans for his experiment again?" Adrien asked the guy who wouldn't stop grinning. He noticed how fragile the vampire was, he could only think of him as half-vampire.
"Are you surprised? If you are waiting to see him, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a thousand years."
He hasn't let go of his neck. A red mark appeared on Adrien's neck. He put a hand on his forehead. "Ahh!" He groaned silently.
"Oh, you also have the moon mark? You won't be able to resist human blood whenever the mark comes out. Am I right?" He smirked mischievously.
"This is just a waste of time..." Before the guy knew when he was going to do it, Adrien had already pulled out a stake and stabbed him right in his heart.
"Nooo..." He screamed as his body started fading.
"I hate the game Ging is playing. Dumb human." He dusted his hands and then hid the stake. Ging happened to be an old doctor who had lived a hundred years before. He used human beings for experiments by transfusing vampire blood into their body system. During the process some became immortals. Adrien has encountered him many times but he was unable to take him down.
He returned to his spot. Since the moon mark has appeared, he has to try to stay away from humans. He jumped down from the tower. He strolled down the road. He could sense some vampires among humans as he kept on walking. He didn't intend to hunt for vampires tonight, how he was going to feed was what mattered to him.
"I should have vodka tonight." He halted at the entrance of the boîte. It was a nightclub that belonged to a Frenchman and it was a favorite spot for every vampire. They'd be able to feed on humans without anyone's notice. He glanced around before walking in. "Oh." He puffed air out as he headed inside. As he stepped in, it was lively and the music was loud and people were dancing to the beat. He walked into the VIP lodge.
"Bartender!" He tapped the button on the table.
"Oh sir, you are here. What would you like me to offer you?" The lady asked him in a seductive voice. It was obvious Adrien wasn't in the mood to fuck any bitch tonight, he rolled his eyes with irritation.
He ignored her seductive smirk. "Vodka only."
"Don't you need anything else?" The lady tilted forward, moved her face close to his as she moved her hand to his thigh and rubbed on it seductively.
"Are you sick of living?" He rasped coldly.
That was a harsh question and it frightened her. She panicked as she walked away to bring in his order. He was cold like his face. He brought out a cigarette pack from his pocket.
"Here sir." He put the cigarette in his mouth. The lady moved over and lit it for him.
"If you ever need my service, just call me." She admired his beauty before walking away.
"Ugly duckling." He cursed underneath.
He could sense everything from where he was. He only needed some time alone.
**
Brenda walked over and ignored everyone. Lisa looked at her disgustedly. "What the heck is she doing here, Cleo?" Dailey asked hostilely.
"She told me she was bored at home so I asked her to come over. Is everything OK?"
"Of course, everything isn't fine. She's not welcome." Dailey said sternly.
"Of course, I'm not here because of you guys. I'm here because of my sister and if you aren't comfortable, you should leave us." She shouted.
"Stop Brenda." Despite how she treated Cleopatra. She would never shut her out.
"Such an arrogant bitch." Lisa snarled.
"I won't have you abuse my sister, Lisa. Please, she's also here to have fun. Moreover, she's old enough."
"Fun or stalking you?"
"Whatever you called it." She gulped down her cocktail. "I have to pick up this call, it's Dad." She said as she excused them.
It was a nice move for Brenda to carry out her evil plan. "I'm going to use the restroom. Tell Cleopatra that I'll leave immediately and she shouldn't worry about me."
"Are you going to hook up with someone tonight?" Karl asked. Apart from Lisa who didn't like her, Karl and Dailey didn't care. Brenda was secretly crushing on him but Karl never noticed that. He thought of her as a younger sister. He loved Cleopatra instead but he never told her about his feelings.
She left their side and sidled across the room.
Brenda walked up to Justin and then whispered something to his ear. "You are going to pay me, right?" Justin asked.
"And why should I pay you? Aren't you secretly crushing on her and if you think you can't do it, just forget about it."
"Wait, are you sure about it? What if she doesn't want me?"
"Then force her. I'm sick of her being a virgin, she needs someone to do it for her but she's afraid to ask." Justin nodded happily. He took a last glance at her before walking out.
He was lucky enough, Cleopatra was about to head back to her friends. "Hey, baby girl." He called out.
"I know you..."
"Justin, actually I know you too. Aren't you Cleopatra?"
"Yes, I am. What can I do for you?"
"We are actually in the same department. Trust me I've been finding a way to approach you. You seem to be friendly to everyone but we never get a chance to chat."
"So..." She looked at him. She was a bit surprised to be approached by a stranger, especially a weirdo. That was what everyone thought about him. He has a bad tattoo on his body and the way he behaved is obscene. The master of playboys was Jusin and his gang.
"If you don't mind, join me at the table over there." Cleo was about to say something but he put a finger on her pink lips. "Hush, baby. I don't bite. You are here to have fun, right?"
"My friends..."
"Not everyone remembers each other at nightclubs. Don't let anyone deprive you of the night's fun. Come on." He pulled her along with him.
He took her seat before sitting beside her. She cleared her throat to start a conversation, she was trying to make herself comfortable around him. "So did you come here alone?"
He shook his head. He pulled out a cigarette and then lit it. "No, I came with friends. They must be somewhere fucking bitches."
She gulped down the air and then moistened her lower lip.
"Am I not going to ruin your nice moment?" He was trying to hold her but she moved away from him.
"Oh sorry. Of course not. Having you around is great. It's an honor meeting your acquaintance." It's not an honor. She thought. "Here, have some drinks." He offered her a cocktail.
She looked at the drink and then looked at his face. "No thanks."
"Why? Are you nervous? You shouldn't because it's just a drink. It's just a drink that comes from my heart. You don't want to make me feel bad by rejecting it. This is our first time chatting, if you treat me harshly I might think you're not the kind of person I assume you to be and that'd be unfair "
" I'm sorry, I didn't mean to reject it but... I'm just being cautious of what I drink. I'm going to drink it if that's what you want." She gulped the cocktail in one draught. Justin called for more cocktails. A little alcoholic, a few cups would get her tipsy and that was his intent. To get her drunk as Brenda told him.
He puffed out the smoke. "You look like a Barbie doll with this hair. I must say you love the color pink so much." She chuckled.
"Yeah, I love pink."
"And it suits you. Look at your hair." He ran his finger through her hair. She was a bit drunk but she hadn't lost her senses. She scooted a little.
"I should leave." She tried to stand up but Justin held her down.
"Not yet my lady. You gotta drink with me then after that, we are going to leave together." He made her drink more and more till she was intoxicated. He slid his hand under her dress and caressed her bare thigh. He bit his lower lip and leaned over to kiss her.
Cleopatra cleared her throat as she pulled back. "I need to use the restroom. I feel like throwing up." She said,
Inward, Justin was smiling. He smirked as he nodded. She headed to the restroom, a bit intoxicated. She walked into the restroom and threw up. She wiped her mouth and then washed her face to make her vague vision clear. She widened her eyes with her hands. "I need to go home... Dad will be mad at me." She mumbled. She walked out of the restroom. Justin was so engrossed in his phone that he didn't notice her walking away. She wandered around the lobby, she didn't know the exit door but ended up in the VIP room. So calm as she walked inside.
Adrien's fangs were ready to devour anyone. Like other vampires, he craved blood. He didn't care if he was going to suck human blood. He just wanted to satisfy himself before he went berserk. He always got a grip of himself but not when the glow mark appeared on his neck. The mark was almost faded but he has starved himself for too long. He needed to feed. He was afraid he might hurt anyone and he didn't know if he'd ever survive after sucking human blood. He hasn't done that before. His way of feeding was different from how other vampires feed.
He puffed out smoke and sipped his drink. Cleopatra didn't know where she was. It was the footsteps Adrien heard, he refused to look at him. The room was so dark. "Leave!" He warned her imperatively without looking. He was more concerned that he was in his true form. Changed eyes, visible fangs, and that glow mark.
"Um?" Cleopatra yawned feebly.
"Leave now if you don't want to die." He said then looked up at her. She wasn't scared because she wasn't in her right mind. She didn't budge an inch. Without any delay, he instantaneously teleported to her. He was losing grip of himself, his craving was something he couldn't control anymore. He cocked his head to her neck, ready to bite her.
"Wait!" Her voice chimed like a command which made Adrien hold back with reticence. "I have to go... Um, They will be angry if I keep them waiting." She mumbled to herself.
He learned she was muttering something underneath but he hardly listened to everything she uttered.
Just like that, he took a deep breath to control himself. He raised his left brow and wrinkled his forehead.
"You ain't drunk, are you? What should I do to you? Um, let me think."
His fangs were not visible anymore. She skimmed her hair back and then glanced up to meet his contentious gaze. He was a bit taller than her, she tiptoed and then leaned over. Adrien paced backward briskly, wondering what she intended to do.
"Mhm... Oh." She moaned feebly. She flipped her long hair back and then moved closer till her hand fell on his chest. She tiptoed and leaned over till their lips met. Since she wasn't in her right mind, she couldn't think straight. Adrien pulled her away from getting closer as he widened in shock.
He was irate that she had the guts to touch him, not only that she even kissed him. He'd have pushed her away but he refrained himself, if he did that she'd get hurt.
"What the heck was that!" He demanded with a look of horror. "Yeah I know I'm handsome, you can drool all you want but I despise it when people touch me. Do you even know who I am?"
"Who are you? Oh, ah... My head is spinning." She put a hand on her forehead dramatically, about to fall. Adrien grabbed her before she could. Cleopatra abruptly grabbed his hands on his waist and then looked at him sharply. "Gotcha! You can't run away from me." She said, laughing sarcastically.
"It seems like you're drunk," Adrien said. He let go of her, ready to leave.
"Hey! You jerkface. Are you going to leave me here?" She hollered as she cried out.
Adrien, who was already at the doorway, sighed frustratedly. He held the door handle, just about to twist it aside and she spoke again.
"You jerkface! I'm talking to you." She yelled.
"How much can you pay for the damage?" He uttered grimly then walked back to her. He grabbed her by the arm. "How about I give you what you want then you feed me." He whispered against her lips, holding her hands up in the air. She blinked rapidly, her heart throbbed like it was about to burst in her chest.
"Uhmm..." She swallowed hard.
He put his hand around her waist to pull her close, his other hand was wrapped around her neck. He cocked his head aside and leaned in till his lips met hers, sending a shiver down her body. When he kissed her, Cleopatra didn't hesitate to hold back. She reciprocated immediately, she tiptoed and wrapped her hands around his neck to pull him closer like she wasn't getting enough of him.
BRENDA
I boarded a cab home, it was ten o'clock by the time I arrived. I wasn't surprised when I saw Dad in the living room. I checked his body to see he was wearing his pajamas. I knew he was ready to retire to bed but waiting for us to return. I earned my way toward the stairs and spurned his presence as I kept walking.
"Why are you alone? Where is Cleo?"
I halted on the staircase, then whirled to look at him. I walked up to him and shook my head.
"Mum, Dad." I went over to join Mum on the sofa.
"Did she tell you she won't be coming home tonight?" Dad asked, wandering around the living room. I sat on the sofa watching him without saying anything.
"How do you expect me to know? She's an adult. However, she's old enough to make decisions on her own." Mum said.
"Cleo would never stay out this late. It's late and our daughter is not yet back. How can you be this calm, Alma?" Dad snapped.
"I beg your pardon! Do you think I'm still awake because of her? Hell no, it's because I couldn't sleep. Our daughter is back and you don't expect me to have a heart attack because of that useless girl. She can go to hell if she likes." She retorted.
"I don't have anything to say to you. Brenda, did you know where your sister is?"
"Yes, she told me she'll be spending the day with Lisa. So I guess she's going to sleep over as well. Don't worry, dad. She's old enough to take care of herself. She's going to return early tomorrow." I said, trying to convince him to calm down.
"Why didn't you tell me that before? I was totally scared that she might be in trouble. And why did she not pick up her calls?" He asked.
"She might have silenced it while studying... I think."
He had a long sigh and then nodded.
"That's right. I should go to bed. It's already late." He was the first person to climb the stairs.
"I don't know how to deal with this anymore. How could he? My gosh, that little devil... I should have known she had nothing good to offer. Ever since I had you she has been so envious of you, always competing with you. She'll be acting innocent but deep down she's a witch in disguise. How am I sure she didn't bewitch your father? Why would he ignore his daughter and focus on an adopted child."
"That's not a right mother. Dad is worried about her so you should. She was once your beloved daughter." I shrugged my shoulders.
She wasn't expecting I would say that, so she lifted a brow and threw me a grimace.
"Did you say that to me?"
"I'm sorry but that's the truth. I'm sleepy. I should be in my room now." I only said that to excuse myself. If I didn't do that she might keep me awake all night with her complaints about how Dad has been treating Cleopatra differently. I'm not ready for that tonight.
"Brenda?" she called out.
"Goodnight mum. I love you so much." I kissed her cheeks and then walked away.
I shut the door behind me. I ambled toward the bed and then slumped onto it. "I wonder how she's going to escape the trap this time," I mumbled while staring at the ceilings. Justin hasn't called me. Perhaps he might be having fun with her, I shouldn't disturb them; I concluded.

MELISA
I searched everywhere, including the restrooms but I still couldn't find Cleopatra. I headed back to Dailey who was checking out the poll side including under the tables.
"There's no way she'll be hiding under that thing. She's not a pet." I said.
"I need to be sure. Where is Karl?" She dusted her hands and walked over.
"He went to check outside. It's one o'clock already and we can't leave without her."
"Perhaps she finally decides to get laid, don't you think?" I threw her a grimace.
"That's the last thing on her mind. She's a complicated woman, you know. Cleopatra wouldn't just have a fling with a random guy she just met. She's the kind of lady that won't fall into your open arms."
"Oh, that's true. But let's be honest, she didn't pick up our calls."
"She must have gotten drunk and left her phone somewhere." I protested.
"Hey, babe, what's up? Have you seen Cleopatra?" I glimpsed at Justin who was standing in front of me. I rolled my eyes. "She told me she was going to use the restroom a few hours ago."
"You said what? She was with you?" Dailey looked at him suspiciously.
"Yes, she was. Although I even waited for her since her sister told me to keep her company."
"Her company? What the heck was that? What did you do to her?" I asked.
"Hey guys, did you find her?" Karl asked as he walked up to us.
With a shake of my head, I pointed at Justin. "He said they were together a while ago," I said.
"Where is Cleopatra?" Karl clenched his fist furiously. We all know who Justin is, he's a dangerous guy. We can't assure ourselves that he hasn't done anything terrible to her.
"Hey bro, I didn't do anything to her. She was drunk so I took her to the restroom..."
"And...?" I interrupted impatiently.
"I need to make you speak. Why would you get her drunk, you maniac!" Karl landed a punch on his pretty face and he ended up with his back on the table. A grin shrouded my lips.
"What do you have me do? How can I resist such beauty? But I swear I didn't do anything to her."
"I don't believe you." I pushed him out of the way. " We have to check everywhere. He must have hidden her somewhere around." We dispersed. I headed to the restroom but she wasn't in.
"Cleo, please be OK," I mumbled. I should have kept an eye on her. I hope those bloodsuckers wouldn't have done anything bad to her. My foot stepped on something. I squatted down to check what it was. It was a pink ribbon.
Just about to walk away, I remembered it was the same ribbon Dailey gave her. "Cleo?" I picked it up. It was in the front of the VIP room. "Could she? Of course not. She won't be able to get in there without an invite." However, there weren't any securities around. Just about to walk away I noticed the door was slightly opened. I handled the doorknob silently. I peeked in, it was a large room with a comfortable sofa bed.
"Cleo." I hope I won't get into trouble myself. Just how silent the lodge was, I was a bit nervous as I walked in. "Anyone in?"
I saw a figure sleeping on the bed. I rushed over when I noticed it was Cleopatra. "Cleopatra, oh my goodness. What the hell is wrong with you? I can't believe you got drunk and ended up here. Serves you right, you should have been more careful with drinks." I said as I sat beside her. She has blood on her neck. "Blood!" I touched her neck.
"Oh my... It hurts." She uttered feebly. When I touched her neck. I noticed it was just a bloodstain on her. I heaved a sigh of relief. I frowned and hit her gently on her thigh.
There were some bucks next to her. Where the heck did she get this huge money from? I wondered. "Cleo, you get the hell up or I smack your butt. You cannot drink along with your senses. It's late."
She groaned silently as she slowly sat up. She fluttered her eyes. I hit her forehead lightly.
She wrinkled her face to a certain pain I couldn't put a word to. "Mhm... It hurts." She groaned silently.
"I can't believe you slept off and here you are. We've been looking for you." She rubbed the heel of her hand against her eyes as she glanced around the room vaguely.
"Where the hell am I doing here?" She asked perplexingly.
"You finally show some reaction. I don't know how you end up here. But let's go. Much as I know, you owe us an explanation."
"And Brenda, has she left?"
"We are going to talk about her later. Let's go." She nodded. As she attempted to rise, she groaned in pain and then slumped back to the bed. There was little bloodstain between her thighs. "What's wrong?" I enquired worriedly.
She wrinkled her face as if she was in pain. "I feel discomfort right now, underneath, like...like, wait," She widened her eyes and moved a hand to her thighs. Her hand was stained with a little blood. She gasped at the sight and looked at my face sharply. "Lisa, was I raped?"
I blinked my eyes several times before bursting into delighted laughter. How am I supposed to answer that?
"Was that a rhetorical question I'm supposed to answer? I don't know how you end up here but no one will rape you and leave you some..." I couldn't complete the sentence when everything became clear to me. "My goodness! Cleo, did you get laid?"
Her eyes welled up with tears.
"What?"
"Have you seduced someone?"
"What the hell are you asking me? Why would I do that? How am I supposed to know? I wasn't in my right mind even if I did that. Can't he stop me?"
"Who?" She ignored me.
"I'm doomed. Lisa, this is driving me crazy."
"Happy no more a virgin girlfriend. It's nothing to worry about since he didn't kill you or hurt you, I guess you're safe."
"What?"
"You had a blood stain on your neck. Perhaps you almost got killed by a vampire so someone rescued you... Or you were wandering around till you ended up here, he thought you're one of those ladies he can have a one-time with and pay you for your service."
"How could you be so cruel with your words? I thought you were my friend." I placed my hands on her lap.
"Of course I am. I don't want to make you feel bad, that's why you should pretend this is just a dream. Or do you know the guy?"
She tried to recall his face. "He does have black hair and his voice was so cold. His hands were cold but his face... The lights." She pointed at the red lights.
"His face, what?"
"I couldn't get a picture of him. I can't recall anything." She said disappointedly. "Did he have sex with me and paid me because he thinks I'm a whore? I'm not a whore why would he pay me? He should have just left me alone." She grabbed the bucks and threw them away. "I'm not a whore. He, he, he even..." She broke down in tears. I crouched a little and embraced her warmly.
"It's all right. We are going to find that pervert and take revenge, dear."
"I'm not a slut." She cried on my shoulder. Her phone rang. She disengaged and picked her phone up. "Dad? Oh, I'm doomed."
