In the luxurious five star hotel suite, Lin Wen Xin fixes her earrings as she looked at herself in the full-length mirror. Tonight, she is wearing a designer's champagne off-shoulder gown made of silk, that accentuates her perfect figure.

Lin Wen Xin is a beautiful woman, born with elegant and distinctive features. There were countless of men chasing her, but she has never accepted any one of them. She would always remember the promise that her first love made to her in high school, "Wait for me, you will be the only girl that I will marry!"

They promised to stay in contact when the boy had to leave the country to pursue his studies overseas. Lin Wen Xin had never forgotten the meticulous love and care that the boy had given to her. She vowed in her heart that she would only want to marry him.

Many years have passed, she has since graduated from university and has just started her work as a fashion designer in her family's company. However, the boy has never contacted her. She had tried searching for him, but was unable to find any information about this boy. It felt as though her high school love was just a dream.

However, she knows that her father's health is deteriorating, and so she decided to fulfil his last wish. Lin Gao Hai also wishes for her future husband to help Lin Wen Xin in managing the Lin Corporation since Lin Wen Xin has no experience and interest in doing so.

"I'm sorry to break our promise. I sincerely hope that you will be able to find a girl you love." Lin Wen Xin said to herself with teary eyes. She walked out of her hotel room, and left towards the ballroom with a heavy and regretful heart.

Lin Wen Xin elegantly held on to her long dress as she continuously step on the marble finishing of the grand hotel lobby. She smiled and nodded at the staffs who greeted her politely as she walked by.

As she was walking towards the grand ballroom, she saw a familiar face that flashed by. Her heart stopped at that instant. "Is that him?"

Lin Wen Xin walked quickly in the direction that the man has left. Unfortunately, she has lost him in the crowd.

In the grand ballroom of Country C's best five star hotel, only the most prestigious families and famous figures with high status gathered. It was the Wang Family's tradition to organise a yearly charity auction.

The Wang Family is one of the richest families in the world. Their family business, DT Holdings, spans across industries - technology, health care, commercial real estate, car and automobile, banking, oil, and tourism. As such, the Wang Family naturally became the top 5 richest billionaire families in the world.

Apart from hosting the charity auction today, it was also an opportune time for the Wang Family to announce the new president of DT Holdings, Wang Shen Ze.

Wang Shen Ze is the only grandson of the Wang Family and has always been his family's source of pride and joy.

Although he has a sister, Wang Yi Ning, she is currently pursuing her acting career and has never been interested in taking over their family's business.

Wang Shen Ze has perfect facial features and body outline, and it is said that even the best actors cannot outshine him. His cold, swift and decisive personality is well-known in the business industry. He is also famous for only hiring men to work for him, and has no interests and patience in communicating with the opposite gender.

Although Lin Wen Xin is from a family of high status, she does not like to attend such social events and gatherings. She then decided to walk towards a quieter corner of the ballroom, away from the crowd.

While walking there, she unknowingly caught the attention of many people due to her beauty and elegance.

"Wow! Who is that girl over there? She is so pretty!"

"If only I can have half of her beauty..."

"Why haven't I seen her before? She could easily be a famous model or actress with her looks like that!"

Lin Wen Xin was embarrassed by the loud and excited comments from the people around her. After all, she went to the side of the ballroom to be alone. Who knows, she has attracted even more attention!

Not long after, Lin Gao Hai noticed that Lin Wen Xin was standing alone by the side of the ballroom and signalled for her to join him.

Lin Gao Hai has been chatting happily with Granny Wang, who is Wang Shen Ze's grandmother. He can be considered a very good friend of Granny Wang since they have known each other for decades.

Granny Wang has always favoured Lin Gao Hai especially since he has once saved her life before.

When Lin Wen Xin walked over and greeted her, Grandma Wang smiled at her dotingly and said, "Good girl, you have not met my grandson yet, have you?"

"It's time for both of you to meet! I will introduce you to him later!" Granny Wang said as she rubbed gently on Lin Wen Xin's shoulder.

"Thank you Granny Wang." Although Lin Wen Xin was smiling respectfully at Granny Wang, only she knows that deep down in her heart, she is very reluctant to marry her grandson.

To her, a rich and handsome man did not matter. All she wanted is to marry a man who would truly love her and treat her well.

The opening ceremony of the auction is about to begin. Being the esteemed guests of Granny Wang, Lin Gao Hai and Lin Wen Xin naturally had the opportunity to sit in the front row, alongside with the Wang Family.

As DT's new president, Wang Shen Ze had the honour to make the opening speech. He is wearing a suave blue custom made suit from France. His hair is styled neatly and his shiny black leather tailored shoes were making the "click-clock" sounds on stage, entirely dominating the noise in the grand ballroom.

As he walked towards the centre of the stage, many girls gasped at his looks and charisma. He has been on the most eligible bachelor's list for years, and has made the public curious about what he looks for in his future wife.

"It is him?!" Lin Wen Xin widened her eyes, unable to believe in what she is seeing. Her heart was beating rapidly, and she was unable to conceal the happiness on her face.

Lin Gao Hai looked over to Lin Wen Xin and saw her unconcealed interest in Wang Shen Ze. He was naturally happy and nodded his head with satisfaction.

The long awaited auction has started and throughout the event, many number plates were being raised. The charity auction was once again a success and hundreds of millions were being donated to the charity.

Although the auction has ended, it also marks the start of the networking session as the guests swarmed out to the large private foyer outside the ballroom.

This was an opportunity for the guests to meet new business partners to broaden their network or to socialise and strengthen relationships with their existing partners to close business deals.

Lin Wen Xin could not help but feel nervous as she thought about meeting Wang Shen Ze for the first time after six years.

"Oh no! What should I say to him later?" "Should I ask him about how he has been?" "What has happened to him?" "Why didn't he contact me?..."

She had so many questions to ask him as her collection of memories in high school flooded her mind.

"Dad, let me go to the washroom first. I will come and find you later."

"Alright, be quick, I will be waiting for you there." Lin Gao Hai smiled and went over first to speak to the Wang Family.

As Lin Wen Xin was in a hurry, she reached to her bag for her lipstick as she walked. She did not notice that there was someone in front of her.

"Ouch!" Lin Wen Xin hit her head against the man's broad and muscular chest. Her bag dropped on the floor and she hurried to pick it up and immediately apologised to the man.

"I'm sorry, I was careless and did not see you..." As she lifted her head, Lin Wen Xin was shocked when she saw the man standing in front of her.

Lin Wen Xin was stunned and speechless at that moment.

As she continued to stare blankly at the man, he simply walked past her, not bothering to give her a second look.

Lin Wen Xin quickly reached out her hand and held onto the man's arm, "Shen Ze..."

The man sneered coldly, and ruthlessly removed her hand from his arm. "Get lost!"

Yi Fan, who is Wang Shen Ze's secretary, had noticed the situation and quickly walked over, together with a group of directors and executives behind him.

"President Wang." Yi Fan bowed to Wang Shen Ze and walked towards Lin Wen Xin.

"Miss, our president does not like to be touched, especially by women. We will let you go this time but this is also a warning to you." Yi Fan spoke to Lin Wen Xin with a stern tone.

Lin Wen Xin was still in a state of shock, as she continued to look at the group of people who have already left her sight.

"Ring ring..." Lin Wen Xin hurriedly picked up her phone and saw that Lin Gao Hai was calling her.

"Wen Xin, where are you?" Lin Gao Hai asked worriedly.

"Dad, wait for me, I'm walking over now."

At the centre of the grand foyer, the entire Wang Family is present. Wang Shen Ze's parents, Wang Li Xun and Xu Jia Li were happily chatting with Lin Gao Hai.

"We are looking forward to becoming a family with you soon! Don't be too courteous!" Xu Jia Li smiled and toasted to Lin Gao Hai. Wang Li Xun also reached out to toast to him.

But before Xu Jia Li's wine could touch her lips, Wang Li Xun took it away from her and said dotingly "Li, you have drank enough wine today, I will drink this for you".

Xu Jia Li rolled her eyes and refuted, "This is only my fourth glass. It's not like you don't know that I can drink 20 glasses and not get drunk!"

Wang Shen Ze turned to look at the both of them, only to see them shaking their heads and shrugging their shoulders helplessly.

"Mom, you are the main female host of this event, what will people think if they keep seeing you frown? Hmm? Give your most brilliant smile tonight okay?" Wang Shen Ze held on to Xu Jia Li's shoulders and rubbed it several times, gently.

"Humph, my son knows how to talk. Okay, I shall let this matter pass." Xu Jia Li then turned to Wang Li Xun and said "But don't you dare to provoke me again! Otherwise, even if you beg me, I will never forgive you!"

"Okay wife, I will listen to you." Wang Li Xun immediately responded by holding onto her slender hand, as though making a promise to her. Xu Jia Li then snorted and smiled with satisfaction.

Granny Wang saw Lin Wen Xin walking over from a distance, and excitedly waved to her. "Wen Xin! Come over here, I will introduce you to my grandson!"

Wang Shen Ze looked over and immediately recognised that it was the lady who had bumped into him earlier. As he examined her closely, he saw that she was carrying and wearing high-end branded goods from head to toe.

Haute couture dress worth millions? Limited edition branded bag and high heels? Extraordinary fine and rare diamonds?

Seems like she is just like any other girls who wants to marry me for my money and looks!

What a coincidence! What I, Wang Shen Ze, hate the most are superficial and fake women like her, who naively believes that she would be able to lead a good life after getting married to me.

Lin Wen Xin then thought about it, and made a wild guess, "Perhaps he did not recognise me?"

Lin Wen Xin bit her lips, as she secretly encouraged herself, "If that is the case, it is fine as well. Since he can fall in love with me for the first time, I will make him fall in love with me again for a second time!" "Wen Xin, you can do this!"

The long night has ended. Lin Wen Xin and Lin Gao Hai returned back to their hotel room. Since it was a large suite, they naturally had their own private bedrooms.

After taking a bath, she lied on her bed as she slowly absorbed the events that had happened today.

Being able to meet Wang Shen Ze was a bittersweet moment for her. She has never expected that this arranged marriage partner would be him, the boy that she had yearned for, day and night for the past six years.

She thought that it would be the same for him, but his cold and aloof attitude has completely thrown her off guard.

Just as Lin Wen Xin was reminiscing about their relationship, she suddenly sat up and gasped, "Oh no!"

This morning, as she was in a hurry to pack for the hotel, she quickly threw everything she needed into her luggage.

She had an item that was very important to her and she would always bring it along with her wherever she go.

Lin Wen Xin quickly rummaged through her huge luggage. "Oh no, where did I put it?" "Is it in my side compartment? Is it in my small make up pouch?"

Soon, the entire luxurious hotel room was in a mess, with all her clothing and valuables lying around.

Just as she was about to feel dejected, the corner of her eye caught a green bracelet that was lying beneath the huge mess made by her clothing.

"Found it!" Lin Wen Xin smiled excitedly.

She took out the bracelet and rubbed it gently, checking and ensuring that it is still in its original condition.

Usually she would take good care of the bracelet by keeping in her casual bag or pouch.

However, she was in a huge rush this morning and had no choice but to put everything in her luggage first and then pack it later at the hotel.

This was a couple bracelet that both Lin Wen Xin and Wang Shen Ze had made together during high school.

Her bracelet is in magenta purple while Wang Shen Ze's bracelet is in emerald green. They had also engraved their names on both of it.

She remembered how they had chanced upon this mini workshop while at a local night market, and decided to make one for themselves since it was popular amongst couples at that time.

They personally made the bracelet and did an exchange with each other after it was completed. They promised to protect it well.

"Wow! It's so beautiful! I didn't know that you have a talent in making bracelets!" Lin Wen Xin generously praised Wang Shen Ze.

"I think you are ready to start a jewellery business and make loads of money for me so that I can buy all my favourite snacks at the night market!" Lin Wen Xin jokingly commented, with a wide smile.

"Silly girl... I will only make bracelets for you in this lifetime. In the future, I will definitely get you a better and bigger bracelet." Wang Shen Ze looked at Lin Wen Xin with his gentle eyes, and reached out his fingers to lightly rub on Lin Wen Xin's head.

"Hehe pinky promise?" Lin Wen Xin held out her last finger in the air and smiled cheekily.

Wang Shen Ze stared at her small finger, and his smile subconsciously deepened. "I promise you!" He reached out his last finger and made a hook with hers.

Wang Shen Ze held Lin Wen Xin's hand and left the stall.

They then went on to explore the rest of the night market and bought many local snacks to enjoy.

It was definitely a night to remember!

"Knock knock..." A light tapping sound on her room's door interrupted Lin Wen Xin's thoughts.

"Dad, you are looking for me?"

"Did I disturb you? Are you free to chat for a while?" Lin Gao Hai smiled and said to Lin Wen Xin.

"No dad, you did not disturb me! Come in!" Lin Wen Xin then led Lin Gao Hai to a sitting area in her room.

Lin Wen Xin and Lin Gao Hai have a close relationship and they would always find time to chat with each other.

On days when Lin Gao Hai has to go overseas for work, they would video call each other just to make sure that everything is fine.

"Dad, I'll get a drink for you?"

"No need, I'm fine! Come, sit down, I have something to ask you." Lin Gao Hai tapped lightly on the seat beside him.

"What is it? I'm not used to you looking at me so seriously." Lin Wen Xin chuckled as she sat down.

After a moment of hesitation, Lin Gao Hai asked Lin Wen Xin, "What do you think of Shen Ze?"
