Mr. McKenzie's Aloof wife

At Yale university which was one of the largest and most prestigious private universities in New Haven. Also, a subsidiary of the Yale Group which was owned by Benjamin Yale.

The final year students were seen in a big hall in the business school with their faces looking down on their script as they were busy with their final exams Amongst the student was Alicia Walton and Adrianna Yale. They were sitting adjacent to each other with their face glued to the paper in front of them.

"Humph!" Alicia plastered a satisfied smirk on her face and went through her answers. She got up afterward, shot a glare at Adriana, her best friend who was still writing off on the white paper. She strode to the supervisor, handed over her answers script and stepped out of the hall.

Adriana's mind was focused on her papers as she have decided to give a very brief explanation on their last paper before submitting the scripts. Shortly after, she was done answering the questions, Adriana got up from her seat and strode to the supervisor with some other students who has also finished their work. They handed in their script and left.

Feeling the bright sun glisten on her skin as she stepped out of the hall, Adriana smiled heartily and walked to Alicia who was standing in the corridor with her new boyfriend Noah.

'She just couldn't get her legs closed, how did she even do that?' Adriana walked up to them with a sneer, "remember! By eight p.m tonight" Alicia said cheekily while licking her lips. All that did not leave her sight. 'What is Alicia up to this time' Adriana thought to herself, knowing that Alicia has always been mischievous since childhood and she was the only one that could tolerate her. "Hi, Noah," She uttered to Noah and turned to face her best friend. Alicia nodded to Noah who chuckled slyly and left while chewing a gum.

"What was that about? You already hooking up with boys just after you stepped out of the hall, Alicia have some shame" Adriana snorted with disgust, with both hands on her waist. She'd hate to associate with people, especially men since one of them bullied her when she was just a minor.

"Come on Adria, I got a massive blow from Justin after our breakup. So I got a nice replacement which is better" Alicia asserted with a shameless grin. "Such a slut!" Adriana rolled her eyes and placed her right arm on Alicia's shoulder.

"Tell me, what were you guys whispering about eight p.m?" Her look turned serious as she inquired about their conversation.

'Huh! I thought you hate it when other people are involved. Well, I'd need you to be at the after-exam party tonight', Alicia shrugged and notified Adriana about the party held at the Walton mansion for the finalists.

They'd thought of hosting the party at the Walton mansion after using up all their ideas, since Mr. and Mrs. Walton is out of town Noah thought it'd be a great idea to have the party at the villa as it would be less stressful.

"Alicia, this is not nice. Aunt and uncle will freak out if they found out that you're trying to turn the villa into a motel" Adriana tried to explain to Alicia but she wasn't having it. She has already planned out this evening, spending it with Noah smooching and having fun. Adriana knitted her brow while furiously biting on her lips.

"News flash: you must be there, no excuses will be accepted. It's a costume party, lingerie is needed" Alicia gloated as she stared at Adriana with a smirk.

"I'm busy tonight, I can't make it. Mum and dad are already waiting for my return and I'd like to spend some time with them. Gosh! I haven't seen them for four years, I'm so excited to see them" Adriana quickly derived an excuse to pull herself out of this dilemma. However Alicia was determined to make her lose her chastity.

"Omg, Look at yourself, gloating like a clown. You're no kid Adria, attending this party is a must there is no going back. Using uncle and aunt as an excuse won't work either, you need to let your guard down and meet new people. I can't believe you're still shy after four years in school" Alicia scoffed with her face filled with doubts and unforeseen thoughts, she had always wished to Adriana's wild side and had tried many times to drag her out of her comfort zone, but failed woefully. However, Adriana registered what Alicia had said in her mind and abruptly decided to go for a new change, 'Maybe she is right locking myself out isn't right, I need to loosen up' Adriana nodded her head thoughtfully and gripped Alicia's arm.

"Then you will be by my side and help me through this" Adriana asserted staring at Alicia intently with her deep clear blue eyes.

"That would be for a while, I would be spending the night with Noah. Let's go back to the hostel first." With Alicia's eyes locked with Adriana's, they nodded in unison and head back to their hostel which was a few miles away.

They both arrived holding hands just like in their childhood, they were always together with their hands clasped together. Alicia unlocked the door and walked into the dorm still holding hands with Adriana.

They stood still in front of the packed luggage waiting to be wheeled out of the dorm.

"We did it! Yes, California we're coming for you" they mumbled in unison and screamed heartily while clutching their hands to express the excitement they felt.

They rushed to the closet, pulled out the outfit which they have chosen earlier and slid into it. Alicia did their makeup, then they proceeded to wear their matching high heels, and wheeled the luggage out towards the gate of Yale university.

Both the drivers sent by both families were in front of the gate waiting for them respectively, as they stepped outside the gate both the drivers hurriedly rushed to them and took the luggage collectively.

"See you tonight!" Adriana screamed feeling a bit too excited, 'maybe is because this would be my first time wanting to party hard with my best friend' she shrugged and hopped into the back of a white Porsche.

"Remember the code, I already selected one for you. Eight p.m" Alicia sounded excited as she yelled and got into the back seat of a black Lexus ultra. The two Limited Edition cars that were slowly gathering attention sped off towards different directions which were the Hill Valley and Rock view estate.

The driver slowed down once they entered hill valley estate and made its way toward the large gate of the Yale mansion. 'How much I've missed this place, both the chirping bird and the cold breeze from the hills' Adriana gasped and got out of the Porsche after the driver pulled over at the parking lot.

Adriana blinked twice when she saw Mrs. Yale standing at the door with a broad smile, that was how she had addressed her mother.

She'd love the title as that entails the love between the two couples. 'Fuck the title' Adriana said Inwardly.

"Mum" she squirmed and ran to Mrs. Yale. Elizabeth Yale couldn't contain her excitement, seeing her only child after four years is a very big deal to her, Adriana ran into her arms and tightened her grip around her.

"I missed you so much mum, I can't believe I did this, I thought I won't be able to stay away from you this long" Adriana muttered as she pulled away from Elizabeth and stared at each other with mist in their eyes.

"Madam Yale, lunch is ready" butler Richard uttered with raised lips while his eyes fell on the two women having the time of their lives. Adriana flinched, chuckled, and recovered from trance, her eyes passed the shoulder level of Mrs. Yale and stopped at Mr. Yale who was stepping out of his study room.

"Dad!" Adriana screamed and ambled towards him, she jumped on Benjamin hugging him tightly. "Come on lad, the old man is too frail that he could lose balance if you continue to squeeze him like this" Benjamin said gazing at her daughter with excited glint in his eyes, he has always doted on Adriana and would do anything just to see a broad smile on her face.

Benjamin gripped Adriana's wrist and took her to the dining hall for lunch, there were tons of food on the table and almost every bit of it was her favorites.

"Look, your mother made sure that all your favorites were prepared by Richard" Benjamin said as he smiled at her daughter. Adriana was already drooling as her eyes fell on the foods on the table, immediately everyone settled down on their seats and digs in.

Adriana picked up the cutlery and started stuffing her mouth with the food on the table. Elizabeth giggled watching as her daughter bite down all the food on her plate like she had been deprived of eating for so long.

"Wow, uncle Richard, your culinary skill is still superb. Even the seven-star restaurant in New Haven couldn't compare to you" Adriana mumbled while stuffing the sauced waffles into her mouth.

"You flatter me, Adria, eat up your food and rest. It's been a long journey" Richard responded, Adriana flashed him a smile and continued to eat. Mr. Yale and Mrs. Yale had a bit of the food on the table and left the rest for their gluttonous daughter.

"Yes, dear, your father and I have something to say to you hurry up and meet us at the lounge on the terrace" Adriana paused and stared at her parents with confused face. She'd had a bad feeling about all this as she had caught her parents sneaking glances at her, Adriana bit her lower lip thinking about what they wanted to say that couldn't wait till the next day and let out a deep sigh.

"Uncle Richard, can you come over for a while?" Adriana abruptly diverted her gaze to Richard and nudged him to sit next to her seat, Richard arched his brow and strode towards Adriana, even though he refused to sit.

He continued to stand next to Adriana with a creased brow. "What does the young Miss require?" He asked, Adriana smacked her lips and carefully placed the cutlery on the plate.

"Mom and dad, what do they want to speak to me about? I think they're acting all weird, like how are you expecting a talk after I just returned?" She'd had a close relationship with Richard as he has worked for the Yale family for thirty-five years which was why she could speak freely in front of him.

'This is a hard one, Adria is like my own daughter. How can I tell her that the young master of the McKenzie's family is coming back today and their marriage is being planned by the elders of the family?' A flash of distress flashed through his eyes knowing that Adriana had resented the proposal since she found out that she was engaged to the eldest son of the McKenzie family since childhood.

Richard hopelessly smiled and shrugged his shoulder, "dear, I had no idea. I think you should eat up and find out the issue, however, I'd advise you to be ready for anything"

'So mysterious! What could they be plotting?' Her face lit up as she was excited and nervous that She couldn't continue with her meal, Adriana got up from her seat, gulped down the last drop of orange juice and headed to the terrace. At the terrace, the two couples were seen with mugs filled with coffee in their hands, each one of them thinking about how to break the news to their daughter.

Benjamin Yale has spoken with Daniel McKenzie earlier, and the two concluded on sealing their years of friendship with the engagement between their children which was proposed when they were kids.

Adriana stepped onto the terrace and was startled to see her parents having a coffee on the chilly terrace. 'We just had lunch a while ago, they have such an appetite,' Adriana walked to an empty seat and sat down with a loud thud, the Yale couple only noticed that they had another company when they heard the thud.

"Did you enjoy your lunch?" Elizabeth inquired, Adriana flashed a smile and nodded in response. Elizabeth shot her husband a glare and breathed heavily before continuing to say, "it's about your engagement dear, we have decided with the McKenzie's to proceed with the marriage alliance between the two families, they will be coming during the weekend for a formal proposal. Their son has accepted the engagement, what do you think about this? Remember, this is for your good"

The smile on Adriana's face froze, 'a childhood engagement' that's nonsense, she had showed zero interest or taken it seriously because she believed that once they were adults they could decide on their own. Meanwhile, it seems like they're still latched onto the past' Adriana clenched her fist as waves of disappointment took over her.

Adriana decided to reject the idea just like always, she'd always thought of being with the one she love, and that was the one that saved her from bullies eleven years ago, he was ruthless when he dealt with the guys just like a knight in shining amor.

He held her in his arms gave a hard kick to the bullies, if only she didn't pass out. However, when she tried to see his face everything became all fuzzy. Then she passed out and woke up in the hospital, Adriana had pledged her life to her benefactor and he is the only man in her heart for making her childhood worthwhile.

Although she had no idea who he was but she was determined to find him and court him.

Adriana looked up at the couple whose faces had traces of nervousness and chuckled, "mum, dad, my thought remains the same. You both know how I hate arranged marriage, I can't be in such a relationship that was arranged by my grandparents when I was still a child and had no idea about it" she said flatly while watching the reactions of her parents.

"You don't have a say in this, you're getting married into the McKenzie's family and that's final. Prepare for that" Benjamin's cold voice resounded with a warning in his tone after taking a deep breath, he'd never wanted to hurt his daughters feelings.

However, this is about business and also between both families. It would be of great assistance in the business sector if both families are joined by marriage.

Although the Yale and McKenzie families are well off on their own they could dominate the world and the business sector if both families are joined in marriage, the people would tremble at the mention of both families that was the thought of the old patriarch from both families, 'getting stronger in friendship and dominating the world together' Adriana scoffed and stood up from her seat.

She bit her lips sadly and cast a gaze towards her parents.

"since you've already decided it why bother calling me up to the terrace like I've got a say to this? You could notify me just like you did now, rather than making me walk up the glass stairs." Adriana hissed, locked her eyes in an attempt to hold back the displeasure that she felt.

"I'm going to say this for the last time, I'm not getting into any arranged marriage. You and mum can easily have another child and hand her over to the McKenzie's" Adriana huffed and stormed out of the terrace.

Benjamin face contorted with anger that his face flushed, he wanted to speak more but nothing came out, he'd only balled his fist while Elizabeth caressed his chest.

"Don't bother about her little tantrums, she will understand our good intentions. Let's give her some time. You see that she just got back from New Haven after four years and would only want to spend time with us but we ended up bringing up marriage, we should do this another day" Elizabeth Yale asserted as she was out to pacify her husband and make sure an argument didn't ensue in the villa.

Benjamin heaved a sigh of relief and turned to his wife with doting eyes, "you know what's best, I'll leave it to you, speak to her later.

This matter can't be suspended or the McKenzie's would think we're putting them on suspense" Mr. Yale mumbled tiredly while they were walking down the glass stairs with their arms clasped together.

Adriana stepped into her room fuming angrily with a flushed face, she threw herself on the queen size bed and groaned, "all I got for running back home after school to see mum and dad" she huffed sarcastically, "how ironically to think they had missed me the way I did" Adriana was devastated that she mocked herself for being so lame, abruptly her eyes stopped at the luggage that was placed next to the vanity table.

The driver took the luggage upstairs immediately they arrived at the mansion. She stood up from the bed and moved to the vanity table, and within a few seconds the luggage was unpacked.

Adriana was all excited, dying to know the outfit Alicia had prepared for her, she hurriedly rummaged through all the luggage and found the outfit in the third one.

"Phew! Alas, here it is" Adriana flashed a smile and tore the package. She never thought of attending the after-exam party but with what was happening at home she needed a break from her family and hanging out with Alicia and her classmates was the best idea for tonight. Suddenly her eyeball popped out of it's socket, She was stunned seeing the kind of outfit prepared by her best friend, "what the fuck is this?" Adriana screamed, checking out the black sleeveless flare gown that stopped at her thigh. It could barely cover her ass.

That'd be tiring for her because as she couldn't be free walking around while her butt is visible. While checking out the outfit a shiny leather fell out of the black gown.

'What could it be?' Adriana arched her brow thoughtfully wondering if Alicia was up to no good. Finally she decided to see what was inside the shiny leather, it was a black rope lingerie. Adriana scoffed and threw it on the bed.

"What a joke! I'll definitely deal with her" she asserted with a knitted brow.

"Beep" her cellphone rang, that was a call from Alicia.

She had arrived home shortly and had been making preparations for the night party. Mr. Walton and Mrs. Walton went out of town thereby giving Alicia the chance to prepare for the event, she barely had time to contact Adriana.

Apparently, now she was done with the preparations what clicked into her mind was her best friend, 'she must have seen the outfit I prepared for her by now, I wonder if she liked it?' She picked up her cell phone and dialed Adriana's number, at the same time Adriana was also trying to contact Alicia.

Immediately Alicia's call popped in, she was startled for a while before connecting the call after recovering from shock. "What the heck Alicia! You want me to dress like a whore and attend the after-exam party, are you being serious?" Adriana yelled at the other end of the line immediately after the call connected.

'Fuck! This girl is something else. When Is she going to change her nerdy lifestyle?' Alicia rolled her eyes and said softly.

"That's the dress code, like I said before: it's a costume party. If you don't dress in that outfit you won't be allowed in even if you're my best friend, I can't allow you to look all nerdy and rejected. That's not acceptable, you have to embrace a new lifestyle and future. Remember, if you care about me you must attend the party." Alicia asserted in one breath, hopefully, Adriana would accept the whole ordeal after all she don't want to stay back at home and watch her parents prepare her marriage to a man she knew nothing about, besides spending time with her best friend is one of the best thing she could ever think of. Although they just parted a few hours ago, it felt like ages, that was how close they've become.

"Fine! Don't mess with me again or you would bear the consequences" Adriana warned her best friend and let out a deep breath.

"Well, see you by eight p.m. I'm going to get back to work, I love you" Alicia blew kisses to her, Adriana chuckled and sent a few kisses back to Alicia before ending the call.

"Well, there is nothing bad about trying new things. I'm a grown ass woman, I should at least have fun till it lasts." She beamed, placed the outfit on the sofa and started arranging her dresses in the closet.
