He asked me to set up a blind date for him but ended up asking me to be his wife on a contract.

Chapter 1 Set Me Up on a Blind Date

"Alba, I have an important task for you," said Mr. Malik. He is the CEO of Pelisia Citra Ayu, commonly abbreviated to Pecitra.

"You can express it comfortably, Sir." I lifted the shirt collar of the 185 cm tall man to tie his tie.

He looked me in the eye. "Set me up on a blind date!"

Wait ... what? What did he say? Repeat it!

I was pretty sure the sky was blue and there wasn't a wind or rainstorm in town. How could a human being who had been turned into a corporate computer decide to go on a blind date?

"Yes, Sir." I looked up and met his almond eyes, just as he did. "Who's your date?"

He grinned at me. So sweet. "You're the one who should be looking for... AAAAKKKHHHH!"

My hands tightened Mr. Malik's tie until he was choking impulsively. I'm sorry, Sir. I did it on purpose.

He wasn't satisfied with having me work from sunrise to sunset, taking care of not only office matters but also his personal needs, so what next? He asked me to manage his love life and find him dates. He must have thought I was a matchmaker or a warrior of Cupid, huh?

Mr. Malik shouted, "Are you going to kill me?" Honestly, I wanted to... but I didn't dare, so?

I loosened the tie that was still hanging around the Boss's neck, then smiled a beautiful smile, I'm sure it made his chest vibrate.

"Sorry, Sir. I was just too excited because you entrusted me with this special task. Don't worry, I'll find the best partner for you." I straightened the man's tie again. "What kind of ideal woman do you want?"

The CEO was unspoken for a moment, then took a step back, after that observing my appearance. "Just like you," he said.

Mr. Malik's partner can't be chosen carelessly. The woman must have a clear identity and a strong background, as my boss doesn't like buying a pig in a poke.

I sifted through information on the families of the entrepreneurs who collaborated with the Pelisia Group, finding out which of them had an only daughter, and determining whether they were already engaged in marriage. This way, I could confirm their identities without a doubt.

The man sitting in his chair reviewed the adult data of the women who had passed the selection. He skimmed it, then closed it nonchalantly. He had no idea how much my heart ached that the hard work I'd put in with all my heart and soul hadn't received the appreciation I'd hoped for.

Praise, extra bonuses, paid vacations... I didn't expect all of that just because I did something so trivial. Still, I hoped he'd show some interest, even if only a little. Those people were his potential wives.

"Is there anything you want to say?" He closed the paper.

I took a step closer to him. "Director Wirawan's daughter, Rosiana, is free tonight. Your schedule is also free. So..."

He pointed at me with his pen. "Make an appointment with her," he ordered.

Mr. Malik was going to have a private dinner with his blind date partner, so I didn't have to accompany him. Finally...! A free night. I hadn't felt this way in a long time. It was something commonplace for others, but for me, it was priceless.

I've carefully prepared everything for Mr. Malik's date. From renting out the entire restaurant so no one but the boss and his partner will be there and buying a large bouquet of red roses for Mr. Malik to give to the woman.

To make the atmosphere more romantic, I prepared a fireworks show that will be held at the end of the event.

"Honey, are you ready!" Aulia exclaimed. She's Pecitra's Finance Manager.

It was her birthday. She celebrated the occasion by treating all her employees to dinner.

Attending meals with coworkers is a great way to maintain good relationships with them. Besides maintaining established intimacy, it can also help prevent others from making us the subject of gossip if we're not present.

"Wait a minute, honey." I turned off the computer and grabbed my bag on the table. "Let's go!" I spoke.

As we stepped forward, an expressionless CEO suddenly appeared at the door of his room. He walked toward us, carrying the aura of a polar monster that sent a chill through the room.

"Where are you going, Al?" His eyebrows raised.

Oh my! I never expected him to show up when we were having so much fun. I had a terrible feeling. This feeling told me that the boss was going to ruin my beautiful plans to go out with Aulia.

"I'm going to ...."

Without giving me a chance to finish my sentence, the man grabbed my hand and led us both to the elevator. He immediately pressed the button for the ground floor, leaving Aulia standing alone in front of my desk.

Shortly afterward, the elevator we were in experienced a breakdown. The lights went out, and we were both locked out.

"Are you planning on not accompanying me?" he whispered. His breath rumbled in my ear.

Even though he already knew that we were both trapped in a lift that was experiencing problems, he was still talking incoherently

"Why aren't you answering?" He shook me.

I was startled, not surprised, because Mr. Malik pulled me close and locked me in his embrace. The distance between us was so close that I could hear Mr. Malik's heartbeat clearly.

In an emergency like this, how could he do something that was not in line with professional principles?

Chapter 2 Roses and Red Dress

Some scenes of movies present a romantic spectacle where a man hugs his woman in a dark room as Mr. Malik did today. In the scene, they were looked happy enjoying their moment together.

Well, if I were Mr. Malik's lover, naturally I would be very happy with his behaviors at that moment. Sadly, he was not my lover, so the act of him hugging me in the elevator shouldn't have been done because it's really immoral.

PERVERTED BASTARD!

Deep in my heart I wanted to rebel and shout loudly, but my head still expended logic to think. Too much movement would just waste energy. In addition, we had to save oxygen, not to spend it on unnecessary things.

In order to save myself from the attack of a man who had no morals, I had to hit Mr. Malik's nape of the neck so that he fall unconscious. Attacking in a subtle way was the key so that he wouldn't suspect this incredible plan of mine.

The first step begins by touching the chest, then moving up along the neck ....

Umm ... wait a minute. There was something wrong with him.

Mr. Boss was sweating a lot, his breath was short, and his hands were shaking violently. Something bad has happened to the man who is the heir of Pelisia.

I grabbed my mobile phone immediately, then turned the flashlight on. It could be seen that Mr. Malik's face was pale as death. Without wasting any moment, I took his tie off, then unbuttoned a few of his clothes so that he could breathe a sigh of relief.

"Sit down please, Sir," I said.

I took the handkerchief that was in Mr. Malik's coat pocket and used it to wipe the sweat off the weak and helpless Mr. Malik's body. Afterwards, I hugged the CEO of Pecitra tightly, letting him lean on my shoulders that was not so wide.

"It's okay ...." I patted Mr. Malik's back gently and stroked him a few times.

"Everything will be fine ... everything will be okay." I rubbed his hair several times.

"How are you feeling? I'd like to cancel your appointment with Miss Rosiana if you're still feeling uncomfortable." We were both already in the car.

Luckily, the elevator technician came soon after I pressed the help button so we could get out of there quickly.

"Just do as it planned," he spoke.

"Yes, Sir. As your wish." I put on a seat belt for the boss.

Ah, this guy just made me nervous. Although he once seemed deeply troubled, but then he carried himself like a virtuous man, as though the past never occurred.

"Sir, could you stop the car by the nearest mall, please? " I asked Mr. Budi, the driver who drove us to the restaurant.

I needed to buy Mr. Malik a new shirt because there was a lipstick stain on his white shirt. It was left there when this handsome man hugged me in the elevator.

If I had known such an embarrassing incident would happen, I definitely wouldn't have used lip color that easily fades when applied to other objects.

According to a survey conducted in the United States, one in three women liked men who wore jeans and a white shirt on their first date.

"How?" Mr. Malik asked for his opinion on his appearance after trying on clothes in the fitting room.

Fascinating!

Only that word was aptly used to describe himself at that moment. It turned out that the survey I read was also true. I did hope the Boss succeeded in his date.

"Good, it's a good fit for you." I took out a credit card from the company. "I'll pay first, Sir."

"Wait!" Mr. Malik grabbed my hand.

"Try to wear this one!" He pointed to a long red dress with a high slit up to the thigh.

Wait what?!

Red dress ... high cleavage ... I thought he didn't aware that his blind date partner was not me.

Alright, I kept my mind in a positive vibe. I thought he wanted to give that dress to Miss Rosiana but was worried whether the dress would look good for or not, so he asked me to give it a try.

"I bought that one as well," Mr. Malik said to the employees of the clothing store where we were.

There was no reason to doubt that he satisfied with the secretary's performance, who else but me, Alba Ayuningtyas. I prayed that the man would fall in love with the person who wearing the red dress that he gave.

We arrived at the restaurant I rented for Mr. Malik. Before getting out of the car, I checked again how the CEO of Pecitra looked. Starting from the hairstyle, neatness of clothes, shoes, watch, even his body scent.

After checking everything, I added a magical touch by opening the second button from the top of Mr. Maliks so that Miss Rosiana could see how beautiful and seductive chest of his.

"Wait a minute, Sir," I asked.

I got out of the car to the trunk to pick up the bouquet of red roses that had been prepared and the dress that we bought when we stopped by the clothing store before we got the restaurant and then handed these two weapons of love to Mr. Malik.

No one other than the employee greeted us at the entrance. We were directed to the table that had been ordered. Before Mr. Malik sat down, I pulled a chair for him like I always do.

In order for the date of Mr. Boss to go well, communication with the person in charge of the restaurant must be maintained to ensure that everything is done according to plan. Romantic music, good food, and fireworks show, everything had to be perfect.

Mr. Malik looked at his watch. "Why hasn't she come yet?"

I smiled widely. "Because we arrived 30 minutes earlier than the promised time, Sir."

Mr. Malik turned his body. "Alba, you know I don't like to wait, don't you?"

"Of course, Sir. However, you have to do it for the sake of your future partner. One of the keys to keeping your relationship with your partner lasting is patience." I poured plain water and gave it to him.

"I understand." He drunk the plain water.

He just believed what I said. It seemed that the water I gave him effectively keeps his emotions in calm. I didn't give him a spell, you know.

Since Mr. Boss had no complaints, I could go out of room to find another place to have dinner. REMEMBER! No matter how hard we work from morning to night, the well-being of our stomach should still be a top priority.

"Where are you going?" He asked, stopping my footsteps that had ignited a fiery spirit to leave the Boss alone.

"I am going out to have dinner, Sir." I replied to him as it was.

"If you want to have dinner, you just need to sit in one of the chairs. Why do you have to go outside?" He looked at me with a questioning glance.

I wondered why he asked so much that day. He was going on a date so he should have let me go. If I continued to stay there, I would definitely turn into a mosquito.

He pointed to one of the chairs in the restaurant with a movement of his eyes. "You're not waiting for me to carry you sitting there, are you?"

Chapter 3 List of Mr. Malik's Fault

I put a knife and fork in my hands because the restaurant turned off most of the room lights to create a romantic atmosphere for the main characters, Mr. Malik and Miss Rosiana. The music flowed beautifully accompanied by dim light accompanying the two of them who were on the dance floor.

Rosiana wore the white dress, she was looked stunning. She moved beautifully in harmony with Mr. Malik's movements. Under Mr. Malik's control, she spun attractively and they danced harmoniously until the music ended.

I was able to continue eating dinner after they finished dancing. My fatigue disappeared as I savored the rib-eye steak, cooked medium-rare. If I could enjoy this delicacy every day.

"Excuse me, ma'am, Mr. Malik asked us to bring the food to his table," said one of the restaurant employees.

What an idiot boss. What man in the world would take his secretary out to dinner while he was dating a girl? Besides, I didn't want everyone's efforts to be wasted because of that CEO's stupidity.

I turned my face away from the two of them. I simply signaled to Mr. Malik that I couldn't go there and then continued eating.

"Did someone put glue this chair?" The man who had been the target of the Pecitra workers' eye candy spoke right in front of me. I really didn't expect him to come here alone.

I shook my head to the left and back to the right.

"Why are you still here?" He was still unmoved from his spot.

"I don't want to ruin your date. Any woman would be disappointed if someone other than herself accompanied her partner." I prayed that God would give this man understanding.

"There are no other women in this room." He raised both hands up while shrugging his right shoulder.

This guy really got on my nerves. In his eyes, I was nothing more than a superego robot.

"Sir! No matter how you don't consider me as a woman, but the fact is that the gender on the ID card is written as a woman, the body that you are looking at is a woman. The soul contained in the body is also WOMAN." I wondered what would he say to overcome this fact.

"But..." Mr. Malik clenched his fists tightly. "There's no other woman here but you." He spoke without opening his mouth, only moving his lips.

I immediately stood up and turned around to verify what Mr. Boss had said. Sure enough, Rosiana was no longer sitting in her chair.

"Miss Rosiana... where did she go?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "How do I know."

"Why did she leave?" I couldn't believe Miss Rosiana just left for no reason.

"I don't know." Mr. Malik took my bag. "Maybe it's because I told her she wasn't fit for me." He led me to his table, where his dinner was served.

The red roses I'd prepared for Mr. Malik's blind date ended up being scattered flowers that flooded my bathtub. The woman who was supposed to receive the bouquet left my boss without the flowers and red dress.

If Rosiana were just an ordinary woman, I wouldn't have bothered thinking about yesterday's incident. The problem was, she is the daughter of Mr. Wirawan, the Director of PT Onenabe, which remains a business partner of the Pelisia Group.

To maintain the good relationship that had existed between the two parties, I had no choice but to apologize on behalf of Mr. Malik, as he was reluctant to do so, regardless of the circumstances.

***

I went to PT Onenabe with Rosiana's favorite cake. Devil Cake, a soft-textured cake with a rich chocolate flavor, is the perfect choice for chocolate cake lovers.

"Sorry, I don't have an appetite." Miss Rosiana refused the gift I brought without opening it first.

I swore she was lying. How could she not have an appetite when she saw her favorite cake? It was darker than other chocolate cakes because the dark chocolate reacted with the other acidic ingredients. The caramelization process also played a role in adding the dark color. It was truly mouth-watering.

"Do you know what I brought?" I won't give up so easily, for Pecitra's sake.

"Devil cake from Weloveu Bakery, right?" Rosiana rolled both of her eyeballs.

Huh. So she already knew.

"Then you know how sincere I am, right? To get this cake, I had to travel two hours from Jakarta to Bogor and back. I spent four hours on the road." I said.

Well, that was a lie. I actually bought the cake through a delivery service.

She grabbed my hand. "Tell me the truth. Did you come here of your own free will or on orders from your superiors?"

It was a tricky question to answer. I had to think clearly about what to say.

"Actually, Mr. Malik wanted to come see you alone. Unfortunately, he had a meeting that couldn't be rescheduled. That's why I came here on his behalf." I was one hundred percent sure this woman would melt.

"It seems like a very important meeting." She took a sip of her black coffee.

"But why didn't he bring his secretary with him?" She placed the cup on the table. "You're lying, right? He actually had no intention of meeting in person."

Judging from the way she spoke and his body language, it seemed like she could read other people's minds. I wondered if he was a psychic.

"That's not true. He really wants to see you," I denied.

Mr. Malik having me as his secretary was a blessing because I wouldn't let anyone see through his disguise. Don't get me wrong, I did this because he paid me for this job.

"Why would he want to see me? Want an apology? Don't expect him to get one!" Rosiana shouted softly, but it sounded like thunder.

I was really curious what the boss did to this woman that made her emotions explode uncontrollably like fireworks on New Year's Eve.

"I've never met a man as insolent as him in my entire life." Rosiana slammed the table.

Her eyes widened. "Do you know what he said last night? He said my nails were shaped like sunflower seeds." She held up her fingers.

Rosiana wore pointed, light black artificial nails with two vertical cream stripes along the edges and a hint of yellowish-white highlighter in the center. At first glance, her nails might look like sunflower seeds. However, this style has been well liked among young women. The fault was on with Mr. Malik. He simply didn't understand women's tastes.

"He also said that the shoes I wore last night had too high heels, if I fell while dancing, it would trouble him." Rosiana grasped my hand tightly. "They were only 10 cm heels, you know?"

Please tell me how to stop myself from gawking. The shoes were 10 cm high, and she just said 'only'? This woman oh so ....

"Do you know what else he said? 'If you get breast implants, don't get them too big, or you'll hunch over quickly,' he said!" Rosiana adjusted her sitting position and made sure she was sitting firmly." I got the 300cc ones, they're just the right size, you know?"
