City Hospital, A city

8:30 pm

"Miss, you are pregnant. Congratulations!!", the doctor told her, "You are one week pregnant."

Hearing the doctor's words, Yun Xi's mind went blank. She couldn't utter a word, she didn't know what to do and how to feel after hearing those words.

"Are you sure, doctor? Are there any mistakes?", she asked the doctor after coming back into her sense.

The doctor gave her an annoyed look and said, "Miss, I have been gynecologist for more than 20 years now and we just did your blood test. Do you think the reports could be wrong? Or do you not believe my words?"

"No.... No, I am sorry. I did not mean that. Thank you, doctor. Now, what do I do?", she asked.

"Look, Miss. I will be direct with you here. If you don't want the baby, then can get an appointment for abortion. But let me ask you if you girls really don't want the baby, then why do you not use any protection? Girls these days tcktcktck.....", doctor murmured.

"If you want the child, then you should start taking care of your health and lower your work loads. Avoid any cold and too spicy foods. Start doing light exercise suitable for pregnancy but don't get too tired.", doctor continued.

"Now that you are pregnant, you will start feeling changes in your body. You may start getting morning sickness after you enter 6 weeks of pregnancy and there may be changes in your appetite. But, it also depends on how your body functions. Some may not get any morning sickness at all while some really have difficult time having it. You will also start feeling tired easily and get sleepy.", the doctor told her.

Yun Xi was really getting hard time listening to the doctor's words. She was not sure on keeping the baby or not.

Just at that time, the doctor continued, "You will have to get frequent check-ups in the hospital now. I will provide you with the date and time."

Yun Xi did not know how she got out of the hospital. She was not in her right mind. She was confused about everything happening on her life. After getting out of the hospital, Yun Xi didn't know where to go. She just kept wandering around when she came across a park. She decided to get some rest there, so she went inside and sat on the nearby bench. It was already 9:30pm at night so there wasn't anybody around.

While seating on the bench, Yun Xi started to recount everything that happened that day.

(Beginning of her memories of that day)

"Let's break up. Let's annihilate our engagement.", her finacee, Song Kun told her.

She was very shocked to hear these words from him because she had never expected him to say that to her.

So, she had asked him 'Why?'

"Sorry, but I have no any other options left other than breaking up with you. I really have to do this, Yun Xi.", he had told her.

"I am not asking you this, Song Kun. I am asking you why do you want to break up?", she screamed at him.

"Because I have to marry Xie Zhi.", he replied.

"Who? Xie Zhi? Isn't she your adoptive mother's daughter? Hah! So, basically you are marrying your sister? Wow! I am impressed by you, Song Kang.", Yun Xi replied him in a sarcastic tone.

"I...", Song Kun wanted to say something but Yun Xi raised her palm in front of him and stopped him from speaking.

"Does your mother know about this, Song Kun?, she asked him, "I am sure she will be really disappointed in you."

She knew this because his adoptive mother, Song Yi, actually wanted to adopt her (Yun Xi) at that time but Yun Xi knew that Song Kun always wanted to be adopted in a good family so, Yun Xi requested Song Yi to adopt Song Kun instead of her. At that time, Song Yi was amused by her words so she had asked her why she wanted Song Kun to be adopted. Replying to her question, Yun Xi had said that she will be more happy if Song Kun was adopted instead of her and Yun Xi had also promised Song Yi that if she ever missed her daughter then she could come to visit her anytime time.

Amused by her words and character, Song Yi decided to adopt Song Kun and also decided to provide all the education fees for Yun Xi. But Song Kun was unaware of all these.

"I know. I know she will be disappointed in me. So, first thing tomorrow morning; I am going to tell her about my decision and also take my name out of her household resgistry.", he said.

"So, why did you exactly decide to marry her?", at this time, Yun Xi was already calm.

"Xie Zhi told me that if I marry her, she will accept her mother and also ask her father to bring mother back to their house and live as a family. You know how much mother missed her and wanted to be with her daughter. So, I can only do this much for her and give her family back to her and make her happy for the new life she provided me.", he told her.

"So, you think Xie Zhi will really do as she said? Do you think she will really accept aunty Song as her mother? Hah!", Yun smirked, "Fine, Song Kun. Let's breakup and never meet each other again. I hope you will be happy marrying your sister."

With that, Yun Xi left from there.

From that moment, Yun Xi really had no one whom she could call her family. Song Kun was only one who was with her through the orphanage but he too left her. From then on, she was really alone. Remembering all the memories with Song Kun, she really wanted to cry but she told herself to be strong and that Song Kun was not worthy of her tears.

She also decided not to hold any grudges against Song Kun because if she herself was on his place, may be she would have done same for her adoptive parent's happiness.

So, she left from that place without holding any grudges and to never look back.

After she left him there, she began to feel drowsy and nearly fainted so, she decided to get check up on hospital; may be visiting hospital could make her busy and save her from heartache.

A gush of wind passed through Yun Xi, and then only she came to her sense. She realized that she was still in the park. She also began to feel cold so she decided to return on her rented room. She got up from the bench and started walking towards road to catch a bus, but while crossing the road, she saw a speeding car rushing towards her. Her mind went blank, she wanted to move from there, but she couldn't move her legs. She watched helplessly as the car came rushing towards her.

While trying to move from there, she fell down and she could only close her eyes fearing the pain.

'Screech...'

Yun Xi slowly opened her eyes when she did not feel the pain she was expecting. Then, she saw the car stopped few feet away from her and then she fainted; maybe because of fright or emotion turbulence she went through all day.

Before fainting, she thought she saw a figure getting out from the car but before she could look properly, she lost her consciousness.

Assistant Zhang Wei was standing timidly outside his boss's office room holding some important files given by other managers to show to his boss.

Managers and other workers realized that today their president's mood was not so good, so they didn't dare to report their work to their boss personally. They even had to work off time today because their reports were rejected in the morning meeting. So, they had to redo it.

That's how Assistant Zhang Wei became their scapegoat.

Knowing his boss's temper, Assistant Zhang Wei was contemplating whether he should go inside or not. He would bring his hand forward to knock on the door but withdraw his hand again not having the courage to face his boss.

At that time, "Come in", the cold voice sounded.

Assistant Zhang Wei was scared out of his wit when he heard his boss's cold voice.

Bracing himself and chanting god's name, he gently opened the door to the president's office. He showed his million-dollar smile to his boss and chanted, "President Mo"

"Reports.", Mo Shan asked without even lifting his head from the document he was reading.

"Here", Assistant Zhang Wei placed the reports in the president's desk and immediately moved few meters from the desk, afraid of his boss's wrath.

Mo Shan took the report file and began reading it and after reading it, he threw it on the desk and asked, "This is the report they prepared? Have I been too patient with them that now they dare to show me this type of report?"

Assistant Zhang was trembling all over when he heard his boss's words and hurriedly said, "Boss, I will tell them to prepare another report" and hurriedly reached out to take the report his boss had thrown.

"Also, cut off their pay for this month.", Mo Shan spoke.

"Yes, boss.", Assistant Zhang replied and went out to meet the managers and inform them about the sad news. He shook his head thinking about the expression of the workers when they will hear the news.

"Assistant Zhang, Assistant Zhang", everyone stood up when they saw Assistant Zhang walking into their department office.

"What did the president say? Is he satisfied with the report?", the head of the department hurriedly went forward and asked him.

"Here is your report.", Assistant Zhang threw the report file towards them and said, "Unsatisfied. Prepare another one by tomorrow morning. "

Everyone sighed and began to complain, "How can we prepare another one by tomorrow morning? We would be dead by then. "

"Also", Assistant Zhang continued, "No salary this month." He dropped the bomb at the last moment and left from there. He thought that the punishment was suitable for them. 'hah! You people tried to make me a scapegoat. You deserve it!', he thought in his mind and smiled.

After Assistant Zhang left their department office, some of the workers just collapsed on their seats while some began crying.

President Mo's office

After Assistant Zhang left, Mo Shan leaned back on his seat, closed his eyes, and pinched his eye temple to relieve some of his stress. He felt his cell phone vibrate in his pocket so, he brought his cell phone out to check it.

He saw the message notification and realized that it was from his nephew, Mo Jiang Hui. He opened the message box and realized that it was a voice message. He played it.

"Father, when are you coming home? It's late. Have you had dinner? Mo Jiang Hui's sweet voice resounded in his silent office.

That's right! Although Mo Shan was Mo Jiang Hui's uncle, he was taught to call him father because his elder brother and sister-in-law had died when he was very small.

Hearing his nephew's sweet voice; Mo Shan stood up, picked up his coat, and began walking towards the door.

Assistant Zhang met Mo Shan on the way and called out, "President Mo."

Mo Shan replied, "Mmm, Let's return home. Also, inform everyone that their off time period is over. They can go home now."

"Yes, Boss", Assistant Zhang replied. After that, he called reception and told them to inform everyone in the office to go home now.

Everyone in the office was happy that they finally got time off and was thankful to whoever changed their President's mind.

Assistant Zhang followed Mo Shan and got on the driver's seat whereas Mo Shan sat on the back seat.

"Hurry up. Mo Jiang Hui is waiting at home.", Mo Shan told him and closed his eyes leaning on the back seat.

"Yes, Boss", replied Assistant Zhang and increased the speed of the car.

Mo Shan nearly fell asleep when 'Screech' sounded and the car suddenly stopped. He was jerked forward and opened his eyes.

"What happened?", he asked in a cool tone.

"Th.... That Bo....ss", Assistant Zhang stuttered.

"What is it?", Mo Shan asked impatiently.

"Boss, I think we hit someone."

"We?"

"Sorry. I... I did boss. I think I hit someone.", Assistant Zhang replied and hurriedly got off the car to check on that someone who he thought he had hit.

Mo Shan sighed and he also got off from the car. If it was for another day, then he wouldn't have gotten off the car but that time he didn't know why, he just got the feeling as if someone was telling him to get off from the car and check the one who got hit. So, he got down from the car to check.

He saw that it was a lady and she had fainted. He approached her and crouched down to check on her. When he saw her face, he suddenly felt that the girl was so familiar.

While Assistant Zhang was trying to call the ambulance, he saw his boss crouching down and picking up the girl in a princess style. He was so shocked that he forgot that he was trying to call the ambulance. He came to sense when he saw his boss reaching next to the car.

"Boss, No need to do this. I am calling an ambulance.", He ran towards his boss and told him.

"Open the door", that was the reply he got from Mo Shan.

"Oh, okay.", he nodded his head and quickly opened the car's door for Mo Shan. He was trying to guess what his boss intended to do but couldn't guess it. So, he just sighed and after Mo Shan had settled himself and the girl in his arms on the back seat, he closed the door and went to sit in the driver's seat himself.

After getting on the seat, he suddenly didn't know what to do and where to go, so he asked Mo Shan, "Boss, where to?"

"Hospital', Mo Shan replied.

With that, Assistant Zhang drove the car to the hospital. While driving, he kept checking the rear-view mirror to look at his boss and read him. He saw that his boss was looking at the girl intently as if to find out something from her. Then, he saw his boss suddenly looking towards the rear-view mirror and glaring at him. Assistant Zhang hurriedly diverted his eyes from the mirror afraid of his boss's glare.

After glaring at Assistant Zhang, Mo Shan took his eyes back and again looked at Yun Xi lying in his arms.

"Are you really her?", he thought in his head. 'You really look like her.'

Mo Shan was debating with himself on doing something or not. Finally, his curiosity won and he slowly pulled down her dress.

Assistant Zhang accidentally saw that scene and his eyes nearly popped out. He didn't know what his boss was trying to do. 'Boss, what are you trying to do? Are you really my boss? How could my boss do this? There was no way his boss could do this.' Thousands of thoughts were flying inside his mind and he quickly raised the partition in the car lest he sees something more. He was really nervous now and gulping down his saliva.

Mo Shan's hand was trembling when she gently pulled her dress down to her shoulder. He gently turned her back and saw a birthmark that looked like some flower on her left shoulder. Then, he quickly pulled her dress up and fixed it as it was before.

His eyes widened, 'You really are her', he thought.

"Drive faster" Mo Shan urged Assistant Zhang. One could sense the urgency in his tone.

"Yes, boss", Assistant Zhang replied and increased the speed of the car.

Mo Shan caressed Yun Xi's cheek gently and thought, 'Were you fine all these years?'

Yun Xi could feel someone caressing her but she couldn't open her eyes.

Mo Shan then remembered something and quickly took out his mobile phone and dialed a number.

"Where are you right now?", he asked whoever was on the other side of the phone.

"Hospital", a reply came from another side of the phone.

"Stay right there then, I am coming there now.", Mo Shan replied.

"Why? Is everything fine? Did something happen?", A worried voice came.

But, Mo Shan didn't reply and directly hung up the phone.

Soon, they reached the hospital.

Assistant Zhang hurriedly got out of the car after parking it and went to open the back seat door for Mo Shan.

Mo Shan gently carried Yun Xi out of the car in princess style and hurried towards the emergency department.

There was already someone waiting for them with his team. He rushed towards Mo Shan when he saw his car driving over.

"What happened? I thought you were injured, man.", he asked worriedly, only when he calmed down did he see a girl in his friend's arms. He was shocked to the core when he saw this scene. Assistant Zhang saw his shocked expression and felt pity for him as he had the same expression in the car too.

"Wh... Who is this girl", that someone asked Mo Shan?

"Shut up and just treat her", Mo Shan commanded his friend Wang Lei who was also a top-notch doctor in the whole country.

"Bring her to the ward", Doctor Wang said and Mo Shan just followed him to the ward.

"Lay her down on the bed", Wang Lei told him and Mo Shan just followed his instructions and did as he was told.

After that, Wang Lei went forward and checked Yun Xi's pulse and all.

After checking her pulse and some other health factors, Wang Lei stood up, faced Mo Shan, then told," It's nothing serious. It's just because she was tired physically, mentally, and emotionally. By the way, she is pregnant."

"Is the child yours?", he asked facing Mo Shan's silence.

"You all can go out now.", Mo Shan told them instead of answering Wang Lei's question.

Wang Lei could guess the answer from Mo Shan's expression, so he just went out without making any noise. Everyone left in the ward also left following his cue. After everyone left, there was only Mo Shan, Yun Xi and Assistant Zhang left in the ward. Assistant Zhang couldn't bear the silence in the ward, so he decided to go out. Just as he opened the door, he heard Mo Shan's cold voice which sent shivers down his spine, "Find out about her recent life. Her name is Yun Xi. You have time till the morning."

Assistant Zhang wanted to cry after hearing his boss's order. He was happy that he would finally have a peaceful night that day but it all came down to the drain now. He wanted to cry but couldn't shed any tears.

"Okay, boss", he replied unwillingly. With that, he left the room leaving only Mo Shan and Yun Xi there.

After he left, Mo Shan took out his phone and messaged Mo Jiang Hui, "Sorry, Father cannot go home tonight. You sleep with your grandma tonight. I will come home tomorrow."

Soon, a reply came back, "Okay, father. Mo Shan will be a good boy. Just come back tomorrow." Seeing the message, Mo Shan's eyes turned gentle and a smile formed on his lips."

Yun Xi was pregnant. So, she could take any medicine and could only take a rest. She slept the whole night, sometimes she would frown in her sleep and sometimes would talk gibberish. Mo Shan stayed with her the whole night.

Yun Xi heard someone talking to each other but she couldn't see properly, it was all blur. The scene kept getting clear as she went near the source of the sound. There she saw two teenagers talking to each other. Finally, she reached for them and when she saw their face clearly, she was shocked. The two teenagers were Song Kun and herself.

"Xiao Xi, what do you want to become in the future? Tell brother. Brother will help you fulfill your wish.", she heard young Song Kun asking Young Yun Xi.

Being a young naive girl, Young Yun Xi believed everything he said.

"Really?", her younger self asked.

"I don't want to be anything. I just want a family, my own family. I don't like to live here alone.", she replied.

"Okay, when we grow up, we will leave this place together and build our own home and have a family, okay?", he replied to her.

"Lies", Yun Xi wanted to tell her younger self not to believe him but she couldn't talk. She tried really hard to speak but not even a word came out of her mouth.

But, when she saw the clear eyes of her younger self, she suddenly realized that she didn't need Song Kun to fulfill her dream. She herself was enough. She didn't need anyone's help, she will build a happy family by herself. And, that's when she got determined to keep the child and provide him with all her love and care. Even if Song Kun wasn't there, she will be both mother and father to her child.

Yun Xi felt that a long time has passed when she could finally open her eyes. As soon as she opened her eyes, she was blinded by the strong light. She squinted her eyes and slowly opened her eyes. All she was was the white ceiling, she felt confused as to where she was. She couldn't fathom her location as that was not the color of her room's ceiling.

"Awake?", That's when she heard a cool voice. For a moment, she thought that the voice was somewhat familiar to her. But when she tried to think about it, she didn't have any recollection of it. Was she dreaming?

"Still not clear-headed?", the voice sounded again. That's when she was sure that there really was someone present and then she slowly turned her head in the direction of that somewhat familiar voice.

"Handsome!!", she just wanted to whisper to herself but unexpectedly it came as a loud exclamation and it was very clear in the silent room.

Mo Shan also heard it and just raised one eyebrow looking at her but kept silent. It would be an understatement if he said that he was not surprised. But he kept his cool in front of her.

When Yun Xi realized that she had said those words aloud, it was already too late. She was so embarrassed that she wished that a hole will appear in front of her and she would readily jump down. She didn't know how to face him anymore.

Calming herself down, she finally realized that she didn't know who he was, then how come they were in the same room?

She finally got the courage to face him and asked, "Uhmm... Mister, do I know you? Where am I? And, How did I get here?". She asked all questions at once.

"oh? I thought you knew me already, Miss. Otherwise, why would come in front of my car and faint there? And you are in the hospital right now since you fainted last night. As for your last question, of course, I brought you here.", Mo Shan replied to all her questions.

Yun Xi blinked as she tried to process all the information she just heard. 'But she didn't go in front of his car knowingly right? Rather, it was the car that came speedily towards her. So, was that also her fault?' Yun Xi thought.

So, she asked him, "Mister, thank you for helping me and bringing me to the hospital but as far as I remember, it was your car that came rushing towards me instead of the opposite."

"So, what do you mean, Miss? That, I should take responsibility of yours?", Mo Shan asked back.

"No, that's not....." Yun Xi wanted to continue but Mo Shan cut through her words and spoke, " Fine. I will take your responsibility, Miss. So, when shall we get married?"

'What?' Yun Xi was bewildered.
