Chapter 1 Episode 01

Anna'S P.O.V.

I held on to the white roses as I struggled to hold my bag and open the car door. My face lit up as I saw a light from the room, he was home. I had specifically gotten these white roses knowing Anton loved them and what better way to celebrate our three years anniversary?

I pushed the door open with my foot and a familiar laughter reached my ear that made me confused, that wasn't Anton. I placed the flowers on the table and walked upstairs while my heart raced, something didn't feel right, the voice grew louder, and I felt a weight against my shoulder.

I pushed the bedroom door open and my eyes stung with tears as I watched Anton laid upon my twin sister with the sheet wrapped around them and his head immediately snapped towards me

"Anna, baby, it's not what it looks like!" Anton scrambled to sit up, his words tumbling over each other.

"It's not what it seems? You're in bed with my sister!"

"Oh, don't be so dramatic, Anna. It's just sex." Rose mumbled still trailing her fingers on Anton's bicep and my eyes blurred with tears and dwelling anger

"Both of you, out. Now."

"You really need to calm the hell down"

"Get the hell out of my house Rose, now!!" She completely ignored me and reached for her food while Anton stumbled from the bed and walked towards me.

"Listen to me, Anna, we can make this work an..." I slapped him across the face.

"Don't you ever call my name again! We are done! Leave my house!" I reached for Rose and pulled her hair so tight and threw her against him.

"How dare you touch me with those filthy hands of yours? I'm calling mother" Rose raged.

"Of course you will, mother's little girl, and while you go back to that God forsaking house remember to never step here and take that bastard with you!"

"Anna, you've always been ungrateful. Rose has every right to stay in that house. If you can't share it, then maybe it's time you left." A chill went down my veins as I heard our mother's voice on loudspeaker

"What? This is my house, I am not leaving it for..."

"I'll buy the house from you," mother added coldly, "and Rose will take over. Consider it compensation for all I've done for you." she hung up before I got the chance to speak again.

"This should cover whatever attachment you had to this place," Rose said, tossing the check onto the floor and I clenched my fist knowing there was nothing I could do about it, the last time I had hit their precious daughter I spent days in jail

Tears rolled down my cheek as I picked my bag while hearing Anton and Rose make out. I couldn't do this anymore. I got in the car and drove down the street before stopping at the car, was it bad that I just wanted a peaceful night?

It was always Rose over me, she was perfect for the family image, never makes mistakes, and I was the mistake of the family even if we literally look like each other, I downed the cup of whiskey and let set before swinging the bottle

"Rough night?" a deep voice mumbled while taking a sit next to me and I snort

"You have no idea." I watched him order a glass of wine, and he suddenly raised his class to me.

"To forgetting,"

"To forgetting," I echoed, clinking my bottle against his.

Laughter and music filled the air, and the only thing I remember was being knocked down on the table by a certain stranger. I woke up disoriented and confused and panic sets within me as I realized this wasn't my room.

No, no, no, no. I wasn't in my clothes, I was in my underwear, oh my God!

"You're awake." I jumped as a man walked out of the bathroom and I forced myself not to stare.

"You slept with me," I blurt out feeling myself being sore and tears escaped me

"You came on to me, but we didn't sleep together. You passed out before anything happened."

"Do you think I'm stupid? You were the man at the bar and I don't even remember what happened, God!"

"You're being dramatic, nothing happened!"

"I'm in your house, butt naked on your bed, and you tell me to myself that nothing happen? I'm calling the police" I snatched my phone from the bedside cupboard before pulling my oversized shirt over my head.

"Do what you need to, but you're wasting your time and while you're doing that get out of my house, your car is upfront" His voice darkened and he stormed out

The nerve of this guy

"I have been assaulted by a man at this address, and you're telling me you can't do anything about it?" I reached the front door while putting my shoes on as he was nowhere in sight.

"Ma'am we will advise you to leave the premises immediately" I shut the door and the phone went off

******

Three days passed by in a breeze and I still couldn't figure out who the hell this man was, and I was going to be late! Shit!

I got into Valerian interior and immediately head to the meeting room where my client was waiting, according to my assistant thus will be the best contract of the year and I couldn't rob my company of that honor

The door swung open and the air in my lungs was knocked out as my eyes met familiar blue ones, this cannot be happening. It was the man from three days ago. He smirked as he played with the pen while I tried to keep my temper in check.

"Miss Valerian. Fancy seeing you again."

"You aren't meant to be here" I mumbled trying to stay professional

"Well unfortunately for you, I am" He stood up and adjusted his blazer before walking towards me

"Oh, and by the way..." he stopped as he walked past me. "I'm buying Valerian Interiors. Welcome to your new boss".

"That's impossible, I am not selling my company to you" I turned to face him, and he smiles before attempting to push my hair from my face and I slapped his hands away

"Your company? You mean the one daddy gave you?" My heart sank remembering the deal my father and I made two years ago.

This cannot be happening

Chapter 2 Episode 02

ANNA'S P.O.V.

I slammed the door of my car as anger raged within me. With my heels clicking against the marble floor I pushed the huge door open, there was no way he could do this, I had nurtured that company back to life and my father had absolutely no rights to sell it, none. Especially after our agreement.

"Father!" My voice echoed in the house and I noticed the workers looked at me confused but I honestly didn't care "Where the hell is he?" Troy point upstairs and I stormed.

I pushed the door of his office and slammed my hand against the table making him look at me through his glasses.

"What is the meaning of this?" I demanded, my voice shaking with anger. "You sold the company?"

"Good afternoon, Anna. What brings you here in such a state?" He spoke calmly while leaning into his chair.

"You know exactly why I'm here! You sold my company... The company I've worked tirelessly to save! We had a deal!" I ignored the sting of tears in my eyes and I blinked it away.

"Your company? Let's not forget, Anna, that Valerian Interiors was a sinking ship when I handed it to you. You're the captain of a ship that bore my name, my legacy. I've merely ensured its continued success." My hand balled in a fist.

"We agreed, you agreed, that if I made Valerian Interiors a success within three years, you would let me live my life without interference. It hasn't even been three years, and now you're telling me you've sold it?" His lips curled in a mischievous smile

"And you have done well, Anna. I'll give you that. But the offer was too lucrative to refuse. It's business." it took a lot for me not to scream in his face as realization slowly dawned on me.

"This isn't just business! This was my life! You..." I trailed off when the door flew open revealing my mother's petite body in an evening gown and I rolled my eyes as a wave of unease hit me.

"Anna, darling," She cooed, her voice laced with false sweetness. "I'm so glad you're here. We have something very important to discuss."

"What now?" I furrowed as confusion took the best of me.

My mother smiled widely, and a knock came at the front door that made her let out a little giggle which only meant she was up to know good

"What the hell is going on?" My father stood up and wrapped his hand around his wife.

"Let's welcome our guest" He said deadpanned not leaving any room for argument and they walked out

I shut my eyes before following them downstairs and my eyes widened when he walked through the door with flowers in his hand

"You!" my voice trembled in spit "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Good to see you too, sweetheart." He smirked, and I tried to speak, but mother's nails dug into my skin that made me jump.

"Stay in line, Anna. Smile." She warned slowly before smiling at him and I glared at her before moving away from her before father cleared his throat.

"Anna, we've made arrangements for your future, an arrangement that will benefit not just you, but our entire family."

"What arrangement?" I looked at him curiously.

"You're getting married to Jace Lysander over here."

My father's words echoed in my ears and I looked at Jace who held a smile on his face and looked back at my father

"You've got to be kidding me."

"This isn't a joke," father said, his tone firm. "It's been decided."

"It's for the best, darling. Jace comes from a reputable family. This union will secure your future." mother added, and I felt the world spin.

"Secure my... Are you out of your mind?" A sense of disbelief washed over me as I glared at my parents. "You can't just decide my life for me!"

Mother's smile dropped, and my arms was suddenly yanked and pulled the study room next to us as she hisses venomously

"You will go along with this, Anna. If you don't, I will make sure everything you've worked for, everything you think you've achieved will be destroyed. Do you understand me?"

"You can't control me forever."

"Oh, but I can try, now get out there and be a darling daughter" She left the room leaving no room for argument and I followed suit while having my arms folded

I sat down silently while watching them have a discussion of my life like I wasn't right there and the realization hit me harder than I expected, my parents truly had no remorse for me, Rose was always their golden girl and only child, I was simply

"I won't do this. You can't force me." I stood up and grabbed my keys from the table, and my father's eyes narrowed.

"Anna..."

"No." I mumbled and glared at Jace whose eyes burn holes in mine, "And as for you, stay out of my life. I don't know what game you're playing, but I'm not a pawn."

"Oh, sweetheart, you're much more than a pawn." He smiled, and I left the house before shutting the door behind me and letting the tears slip from my eyes.

I reached for my car door and my phone buzzed in my pants which made me sigh. I reached for it and my blood ran cold.

It was a notification from my bank. My accounts, my savings, my investment... Everything was frozen, every single one of them and a simple massage sat at the bottom of everything.

"Let's not make this difficult. - J.L."

I gripped my phone tightly as realization hit me. I wasn't just trapped. That bastard had the key to my escape, I had nowhere to go.

Chapter 3 Episode 03

ANNA'S P.O.V.

I tugged at the bodice of my wedding dress as the soft material clung to my body. Everything about this dress felt suffocating, but there was absolutely nothing I could do about it, moreover I was forced into a marriage that made absolutely no sense.

Why was I the one marrying Jace? Rose had always been their favorite child and I don't give a damn about this family's affections let alone a prestigious marriage.

The door flew open, and I looked into the mirror to see Rose leaning casually against the door looking at me with a smile on her face. Talk about the devil.

"You look... radiant," She mumbled, and my face remained emotionless as I ignored her "...Funny, isn't it?" Ross continued, tracing a finger along the edge of the vanity. "This should've been my wedding. But Jace..." She paused, her smile widening. "He's no fool. He realized his little empire is crumbling, and he needs someone with substance. You, the workhorse of Valerian Interiors, are the perfect candidate. Meanwhile, Anton's becoming a billionaire. Quite the trade, wouldn't you say?"

"What are you talking about?" confusion sets in as I turned to look at her and she chuckled

"Oh, didn't you know? Jace's business is on the verge of collapse. It's all hush-hush, of course, but I have my ways. And Anton? He's thriving. I suppose I'll have the last laugh after all." my hand curled into a fist.

"You're despicable."

"Am I? Or am I just playing the game better than you? Enjoy your chains, sister. You've always been the disposable one." The door suddenly shut and she was out. My heart felt heavy as I kept looking at the door.

Was Rose telling the truth? Had my parents orchestrated this marriage to offload me onto a man with failing fortunes? But didn't he buy my company?

Her heart sank further and in made my way out while hearing my parent's voices echoing in the wall

"Finally," mother said, her voice tinged with relief. "We'll be rid of her. She's always been a thorn in our side."

"Jace Lysander can deal with her now. We've done our duty." Father chuckled and my stomach twisted.

Their words sliced through my heart like a dagger and I forced myself to breathe. If they wanted to get rid of me so quickly then so be it.

I stood at the garden that was filled with people from both family and my father extended his hand for mine and I glared at him

"I don't need you to walk me down," I mumbled and some guest gasp hearing my words

My father's face flushed in humiliation, but I ignored him and walked down with my head held high completely ignoring the whispers before reaching for Jace's hand without looking at him and the pastor began but Jace cut him off

"Skip to the vows and the kiss," Jace said, his tone commanding and I glared at him as the pastor hesitated

"You may kiss the bride," the pastor announced.

Jace blushed his lips against mine as I remained still and as the place erupted in applause he pulled away completely fooling them. How lovely to know I'm not the only one hating every bit of this.

I spared no one the time to speak to me as I got into the car with Jace. There was no need to talk to backstabbers, and now I am stuck with an infuriating husband for the rest of my days.

"You really know how to make an impression," Jace finally said, his tone amused.

"Don't talk to me."

"Funny, I thought we were married."

"Married in name only," I snapped. "Don't think for a second that I'll play the obedient wife."

"Good. Obedience would bore me." He smiled and I rolled my eyes.

Hours passed by and I was now looking at the ceiling of his bedroom and alone in a mansion of a damn house. What kind of husband leaves his wife to dazzle around the house on their wedding night?

A single tear rolled down my cheek as my frustration reached its peak, I can't believe I loved that family.

I'm slowly drifting off to sleep, but I was woken by a soft patting on my cheek and I opened my eyes to find Jace and the sun up in the sky. Didn't I just sleep off?

"Get up," he said, his voice soft but firm.

"Don't touch me." I slapped his hand away.

"Feisty already. I like it."

"What do you want?"

"I wanted to let you know you'll keep your position as COO of Valerian Interiors," A sense of relief washed over me knowing I didn't have to deal with him all day. "Of course, you'll still answer to me."

"How refreshing to know" I mumbled dryly

"Oh, and pack your bags," Jace said, his tone light. "We're going to Italy for a week."

"Italy?" my eyes widened as my heart flutters

"Your dream country, isn't it?" he said, leaning closer. "Consider it a honeymoon."

"I'm not going anywhere with you," I frown at the idea of this bastard ruining my Italy dream, but how did he know that information, though?

His smirk sudden faded and his eyes darkened

"You don't have a choice, Anna. This is your life now. Adjust to it." My heart raced but not from fear.

His god-damn proximity, the fire in his eyes as his spoke, the heat radiating from his body that was inches away from mine and I hated that my body was reacting this way, especially with him

"Are you going to kiss me or lecture me?" I whispered, and his lips curved in a dangerous smile as he leaned in closer.

Goodness if this man wasn't already my... The door burst open causing my body to go sniff and my eyes met with Ingrid's which made me frown deeply.

"You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into, Anna," Rose snarled, her voice dripping with venom

My heart's pounding reach my ear as I looked at Jace's face and for the first time the confident mask he wore around shattered, and his expression darkened with something I could place a finger on

"What are you doing here?" Jace growled and Rose smiled.

"Oh, I thought you'd tell her, dear husband."

Husband?
