Mistaken Bride (A sweet mistake)

The sun entered into the room through the opened window and shined brightly on her face. The door creaked opened and Mrs Miller entered into the room.

"Cindy wake up, you'll be late" she said tapping her on the bed.

"Just give me five more minutes" she murmured sleepily, moving on the bed.

"This is 8:05am, c'mon get up" she said and she spranged up almost immediately.

"Why didn't you wake me earlier" she said scurrying into the bathroom

She did her normal routine and came out of the bathroom. She dressed up hastily and head down stairs for breakfast. She took two slices of bread and a cup of tea before rushing out of the house. She checked the time and gasped.

"I'm dead" she muttered and flaged down a cab.

The cab halted in front of the big company and ' CROWN'S EMPIRE ' was boldly written on it

Cindy entered into the elevator and prayed silently not to see her boss. The door of the elevator opened and she came out. She peeped into her boss office and heaved a sigh of relief

"You're late" she heard the voice she has been running away from and she turned back slowly

"Hmm...Boss...Good morning sir" she greeted

"Why are you late" His voice echoed in the office

"I'm sorry boss, something came up" she lied

"That was your excuse yesterday, later in the noon go to the disciplinary committee" he said and was about entering his office when he talked again

"Get me my schedule for today" he said and left

"Oh my" Cindy muttered and dipped her finger into her hair. She sat down on her chair and began working on the laptop.

H.R INVESTMENTS

"Good morning boss" the workers greeted in unison immediately he entered into the building.

"Morning" Micheal smiled

He entered into the elevator and rode to the floor where his office is. The door opened few minutes later and he came out of the elevator. He entered into the office and met Sydney sitting regally on the chair, a frown appeared on his face immediately

"Sweetheart" she smiled and ran to hug him. She kissed him and he push her away roughly

"Get out" he said and almost immediately the door opened and Dave, Micheal's dad who is the chairman came in and Sydney started faking tears

"What's going on here" Dave's asked

"He hits me and push me away from him" Sydney replied feigning sadness

"How dare you" he yelled at Micheal

"Sorry Sydney, he lacks manner, blame his mother for not training him" Dave said to Sydney

"It's okay sir, I'm sure he'll come around"she replied and tears clouded Micheal's eyes

"Meet me at my office and also take her on a date after the day's work"he said and left

"Just love me already so you can get out of your dad's claws" Sydney said and kissed him. This time he didn't push her away but did not also reciprocate the kiss.

"See you in the evening" she said after she broke the kiss. She hugged him before taking her bag to leave.

Tears came out of his eyes as he remembered his mother, maybe all this won't be happening if she was still alive. He really hates his life right now, if not for his younger sister, Sweeney, he would have committed sucide.

How can his dad be controlling his life since he was a child even till now. He wiped his face and head to the washroom to wash his face after which he dabbed with a napkin.

He was about to start working when a knock came on the door

"Come in" he said and Travis, his only friend since elementary days came in

"How are you doing buddy" he greeted

"I'm fine, how are you doing" Micheal asked

" I'm fine what's with your face" Travis inquired

"I'm okay"

"I don't believe you, something is wrong"

"I know you cried again, just be fine" Travis said patting his shoulder

CHAIRMAN DAVE'S OFFICE

Micheal entered into the office and a slap landed on his face.

"Why are you just here" Dave demanded angrily

"I was in a meeting" Micheal replied simply

"So..." Dave asked and silence followed

"The presentation for Monday is now today so get ready, the time will be sent to you and after the presentation you'll be going to represent the company at Key groups of company "He said and Michael left immediately

A knock came on the door and Cora, his secretary came in with some files.

" The files have been sorted, these ones will only need your signature while you'll have to review this proposals" she said dropping two piles of files on the table

" When are they needed"

"These ones will be needed before the presentation while these ones can wait till Monday" she replied

"When is the time for the presentation" he inquired

"It has been scheduled for 2:00pm and the board of directors will be here by 1:30pm which is exactly two hours from now" she replied

"Okay can go" he said and she left

He dipped his hand into his hair and then checked the time, It is really two hours from now. How is he going to sign the required documents and prepare for the presentation on time

He dailed a line on the land phone and the receiver picked up after a while

"Make a research on the presentation, send it to my mail and don't make mistakes " he said before hanging up

The presentation was over and exhausted Micheal yawned for the umpteenth time. He got to his office and his stomach rumbled. He picked the land phone and dialed a line, after few minutes the door opened

"Good afternoon boss" Cora said

"Thanks for the research on the presentation, I owe you a bunch" he smiled

"It's nothing boss, the work was too much" she replied

"Let's go for lunch, my treat"

"Sure boss"she replied and they left the company together

SYDNEY'S MANSION

Sydney came out of her car with Sophia and Nickie and they entered into the mansion. The maids greeted them with their heads bowed and she smiled proudly. She threw her bag and one of the maids caught it

"Leela, prepare my bath" she ordered

"Yes miss" she replied and scurried away

The TV was on and they sat down to watch the soap opera

"When is the engagement" Nickie asked

"You've forgotten again" Sophia said

"Don't mind me" she replied

" You can't remember when you keep thinking of Jasper" Sydney chipped in

"Whatever" Nickie replied

"Anyways it's in two weeks time" Sydney said

"I'm happy for you baby, he'll soon be yours" said Sophia

"Thanks"

"How is Travis, is he looking at you already" Nickie asked Sophia

"Not yet but I'll keep on trying" Sophia replied sadly

"Sorry, I'm sure he'll come around" Sydney consoled

"Thanks dear" Sophia said

"When are we do...."Nickie was cut short by Leela

"Ma'am the water is ready" she said and Nickie stood up in fury before slapping her

"How dare you cut me short while talking" she snapped

"And who is ma'am?, I've warned you not to refer to me as ma'am"Sydney half yelled and pulled her hair

"I'm sorry miss, please you are hurting me"Leela pleaded

"Get out of my sight" Sydney yelled and she ran out of the sitting room

"I'll be back, let me freshen up" Sydney said

"Okay" Sophia said

"Don't stay long" Nickie said

"Okay"

Sydney entered into the bathroom in her towels. She applied her before bathing facials on her face then entered into the jacuzzi. She came out of the bathroom few minutes later and apply her facials before dressing up in a bum short and a tank top. She head downstairs to join Nickie and Sophia

"Bring me a glass of milk" Sydney said to a maid

"Okay miss"

"I'll be going for shopping soon, I wanna get something for Michael" Sydney said

"Okay, I'll be at Jasper's later in the evening so I won't be going with you" Nickie said

"I'm going on a blind date, my mom is gonna get mad if I don't go" Sophia said

"Okay take care" Sydney replied and the maid came with the milk

YUMMY RESTAURANT

"Thanks boss, they really have sumptuous meal here" Cora beamed

"You're welcome, do you want more" he asked

"Yes boss ,you are the best" she replied and he smiled. He called an attendant and her orders were brought to her while he started pressing his phone

Sydney entered into the restaurant and sat down to eat. The menu was brought to her and she picked what she wanted. She waited for the orders and she looked at a particular direction.

Her eyes caught something and her eyes widen in shock. She stood up and walked angrily to the direction

"Bitch" Sydney yelled and as soon as she got to the table where Micheal and Cora were sitted

"How dare you go on a date with my fiancee" Sydney yelled and took a plate of spicy pasta. She empitied it on Cora's face and Michael eyes widen in shock

YUMMY RESTAURANT

Cora cried immediately when the food met with her face and Sydney smirked. People were already making videos and Sydney doesn't give a damn about it.

"Stop this nonsense Sydney" Micheal yelled

"How dare you Michael, how dare you" she yelled

"Let's go, Cora," He said to Cora who had tears on her face. He left with Cora after paying, leaving Sydney dumbfounded

"I'll make you pay" she gritted and left in fury

"I'm sorry," Micheal said to Cora when they got out of the restaurant and wiped her face with his napkin

"It's okay sir, it's not your fault, I shouldn't have followed you" Cora replied sniffing silently. Her face still stings even though her face has been washed

"It's okay I'll drive you home," Micheal said and they got into the car

KEY'S GROUP OF COMPANIES

5:30 pm

Micheal came out of the company and entered into his car. His phone beeped and he checked the message, it was from his dad

"I've booked a restaurant for you two, take care of her, my eyes are on you"

He read the message and tossed the phone to the seat next to his. He started driving to the restaurant and when he got there he texted Sydney

The restaurant was decorated with flowers. There were candles on the path that led to their seat. He sat down and began wishing she did not show up but she came in after a few minutes

"Baby" she called

"This place is awesome, I knew I could count on you" she added coming in with a bright smile on her face

Micheal sighted a camera and voice recorder in the room and decided to play along at least to escape from his dad tonight

"Come sit," he said and faked a smile

Right now he hates himself for being weak and vulnerable. You may be thinking why he has not stood up against his dad. Well, he's a gentle guy and calm guy and does not like getting involved in a fight. He's more like a girl, even though his sister is stronger than he is.

"Let's start eating," he said and they began eating. Sydney saw the voice recorder and smiled

"Baby, I'll be coming over to your place tomorrow" Sydney smiled

"No you can't," he said

"Please," she said, trying to act cute. He remembered the voice recorder in the room and sighed

"Sure," he said and smiled

After eating, he dropped her off and drove to his house. He sighed frustratedly and took a bottle of chilled water from the fridge. He gulped the water down directly from the bottle and went upstairs. He picked up his phone and dialed Sweeney's digit

★EVANS COLLEGE★

"I can't wait for the party, "Sweeney said, dressing up already. Today is Friday and there's a party at the school

"Same here baby," Bianca said

Sorry for my manners, I'm Sweeney Hunt, the only sister of Micheal Hunt. I'm 20 years old and I'm a surgeon-to-be. I'm cute, beautiful, and also a psycho.

Her phone rang and she smiled when she saw the caller's ID

"Baby" she called sweetly

"Sweet pie, how are you doing," Micheal asked

"I'm fine, how is everything going on with you"

"Everything is fine, are you coming over tomorrow" he inquired

"No, I have tutorials to attend"

"Okay then, take care of yourself," he said

"Good night my baby,y," she said

"Night sweetie" he replied and hung up

THE NEXT DAY

MICHEAL'S MANSION

He woke up and yawned loudly. He stretched his body and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. He finished brushing and he headed downstairs.

He entered the kitchen and began fixing breakfast. The door to the sitting room opened after about an hour and Travis came in

"Hey buddy," he said entering the kitchen

"Good morning" Micheal greeted

"Wow, you're fixing breakfast, it's a good thing I'm here," Travis said

"You should go home, I did not prepare yours" Micheal replied

"I'm eating, I don't care whether you like it or not"

"Let's see"

Micheal dished out the food into a plate and took it to the dining table

"Where is mine," Travis asked

"You thought I was joking, I did not prepare yours" he replied

"Then you are not eating," Travis said and took the pancake on the table

"Give me that," Micheal said

"Catch me if you can," Travis said and began running around the room while Micheal chased him behind

After a few minutes of running around and playing like kids, they both fell on the sofa and pant heavily

"The pancake was delicious," Travis said knowingly. He ate more pancakes than Micheal did

"I hate you" Micheal said

"I love you buddy" he replied and Michael shot him a glare

FEW HOURS LATER

The doorbell rang and Michael went to open the door, Travis left already so he's the only one at home. Sydney came in with a charming smile on her face

"Baby" she called and hugged him but he broke the hug

"I only accepted because there was a voice recorder in the room, so stay in your lane," he said and walked to the kitchen. He took a glass cup and a cranberry juice in the fridge before walking to the sitting room

He sat down and began watching TV series. Sydney went to the kitchen to fix something for the both of them. She decided to make pasta and meatballs

"I haven't done this before" she muttered

She took her phone and did some research on how to prepare the meal. She started cooking, following the procedure step by step

"Ouch..." she winced when she mistakenly cut her hand with a knife

She finished preparing the food and served it on the dining table

"Sweetheart, food is ready" she called from the dining

"I'll rather take poison than eat your food" he replied and went upstairs to his room

Sydney clenched her fist in anger, after all the Burns and cuts, the food was rejected. She threw the plate away in anger and took her bag ready to leave when she remembered something. An evil smile crept to her face when she went to the kitchen

A knock landed on Micheal's door and he sighed frustratedly. He went to open the door and met Sydney at the door

"What do you want," he asked

"I guessed you'll be tired so I bought a fruit juice," she said

"I don't want, leave" he replied

"I'll only leave if you take the juice," she said

He took the juice with an unsure look before closing the door

Sydney stayed outside and prayed for him to drink the juice. She knows that what she was doing was wrong but she can't help it

"If he can't look at me now, then I must take Nickie's advice and get pregnant for him," she thought

You may think that she's selfish but she's just so obsessed to see it. She opened the door to check if he was asleep but met him working on his laptop

"What are you doing here," Micheal asked."Thought you said you'll leave" he continued

"Hmm...I just wanted to say goodbye" she replied faking a smile

She closed the door, went downstairs took her bag, and left

She got to the parking lot and got into her car. She ignited the car and drove out of the mansion

Michael checked the window and smiled when he saw her car leaving the compound. He took the juice and gulped down almost half of the content.

He kept on working on his laptop till he started feeling drowsy so he decided to take a nap before working

Sydney tiptoed into the house and sneaked into Micheal's room. She never left, she only drove out of the mansion to make him believe she was gone while she lurked around the mansion

She entered his room and met him asleep on the bed. She smiled cause her plans are working out fine already

She switched off their phones and his laptop before making him lie on the bed very well. She started removing his shirt and she smiled when she saw his cute abs and biceps. They are enough to drive any girl crazy.

She kissed him while removing his trouser when the unexpected happened

Sweeney finished the tutorials and her phone rang. It was a call from Bianca

"Hi baby, are you done with your tutorials," Bianca asked

"Yeah I'm just coming out of the class, it was damn hectic"

"Sorry baby, let's go have fun"

"No I want to go and see my big brother, I miss him already" she replied

"Oh okay, I think I'll have to go to see my baby"

"Oh okay, take care" Sweeney replied and ended the call

She flagged down a cab because she didn't come with her car. She alighted when she came down in front of the big house and paid before making her way to the gate

She entered the mansion and smiled

"Yuppie, home sweet home" she smiled before making her way to the door but met the door opened which is unusual

"What's wrong, Micheal never leaves the door opened," she thought worriedly

She walked in and found a lady's purse and shoes on the floor. She smirked and walked to the kitchen. She saw the broken plate and dish on the floor and she smiled before taking a saucepan

She walked stealthily to Michael's room and peeped in. Just as she guessed, she met Sydney in his room and was laying on her brother. Anger boiled through her and she kicked the door open.

Sydney's heart skipped a beat and she turned to the door. Her eyes widen when she saw it was Sweeney and she trembled fearfully, even the look on her face is eating her deep down

"Bitch, how dare you try to rape my brother" Sweeney yelled and walked furiously to the bed. She landed a slap on her face and her lip burst. Her face changed color due to the heavy slap and she lost her senses for some minutes

"I'm his wife to be" she half yelled when she regained her courage though there are still some atoms of fear in her

"Stop saying nonsense, my brother will never marry you bitch, get that into your empty skull" she replied and slapped her again after which she pulled her hair, earning a cry from her

"If your dad finds out you'll rot in jail" Sydney yelled as she winced in pain

"Stop talking," Sweeney yelled and slapped her again. She fell and hit the floor

"I'll kill you bitch" Sydney yelled angrily

"I said stop talking," Sweeney yelled and hit her with the saucepan. She blacked out immediately and Sweeney ran to Micheal on the bed

She hugged him and wore his shirt before covering him with the duvet

TWO HOURS LATER

Micheal yawned and stood up from the bed. He walked to the living room and met Sweeney there with Sydney tied to a chair still unconscious

"Sweeney, when did you get here, and what's going on here, I thought she left already," he asked referring to Sydney

"This bitch was trying to rape you when I got here" she replied and Micheal's eyes became wide open in shock

"How dare her, she tried to rape me?" Micheal half yelled

"Calm down big brother, she's going to taste my wrath," Sweeney said and went to the fridge. She got a bottle of chilled water and emptied it on her head. This woke her up and she caught the flu immediately. Her lips began shaking as she looked up to see angry Micheal

"Baby," she called.

"Don't dare call me" Micheal yelled and raised his hand to slap her but brought it down

"I won't break my rule of not laying my hands on any girl because of you bitch, even though you deserve it, I won't do it," he said.

Sweeney brought a vacuum cleaner and some other cleaning equipment. She untied Sydney and gave it to her

"Start cleaning the house now" Sweeney ordered

"I can't,..."She was interrupted by a slap on the face.

Right now her face is unrecognizable due to the several slaps

"Start now, I won't repeat myself" she yelled coldly

She took the vacuum cleaner and cleaned it in tears. She cleaned the sitting room, the dining and she was currently cleaning the kitchen when Sweeney called her for the umpteenth time. Right now she's at the point of tearing up again

"Yes miss" she responded

"The tea is surgery make me another one," she said

"Okay" She took the tea and went to the kitchen to make another one

Sweeney hands Michael and he fakes a smile. Right now he's scared of the monster he calls his Dad cause he's sure Sydney is gonna tell him.

He can't even imagine what he's gonna do to them. Sweeney took his hands as if she read his thought and hugged him

"I'm going to protect you," she said and Michael hit her head lightly

"It's my responsibility dummy," he said and she smiled

"If you say so"

"She has done enough please let her go," Micheal said referring to Sydney

"Oh shit, you're so vulnerable, anyways I'll let her go," she said and he smiled

"Bitch" Sweeney called

"Yes miss" Sydney scurried into the sitting room

"You can go" she replied and Sydney rushed out immediately leaving her shoes behind

She entered her house and walked angrily to her room. She can't believe she was humiliated in that manner. Even Micheal dare yell hurtful words at her and his sister

"I'll make you pay," she gritted in anger and went to the bathroom.

She was about to apply her facials when she saw her face. Tears came out of her eyes as she stared at her disfigured face. She took her phone and took a picture of it before applying her facial

MONDAY

MICHAEL'S OFFICE

Dave said nothing since the incident happened and right now he's scared. The door flew open and Dave came in with Sydney. His heart skipped a beat immediately after he saw them and he tried hard to compose himself

"How was the meeting with the Key's group of companies," Dave asked

"The shares have been bought, my secretary will send you the documents, "Micheal said

"Okay, the engagement is around the corner so get ready to get your clothes," Dave said and walked out leaving him with Sydney.

Micheal sat in his chair and heaved a sigh of relief

"What are you doing here, get out," Micheal said to Sydney

"I see you're ungrateful, you know what will happen if I decided to tell your dad about what you and your sister did to my face or if I post the picture of my red face, you'll be down," she said showing him the picture

"Are you threatening me now" Micheal scoffed

"Take it as whatever you want, I'll be back, my revenge is coming," she said. "And as for your secretary, I want her fired" she barked and left

Micheal relaxed on the chair and sighed. He began working on the documents on the table when Cora came in

"Good morning boss" she greeted.

"sorry for what happened on Friday"

"It's okay sir, I have forgotten about it"

"Thanks, dear, take these documents and send them to the chairman. Comeback for these documents, also get me my schedules" he said

"Okay boss" she replied and left while he kept working on the documents

EVANS COLLEGE

SWEENEY'S ROOM

"Let's go for lectures," Bianca said to Sweeney

"I'm almost done," Sweeney said, curling her hair. She added gel to her hair before pinning it. She added red lipstick to her lips before carrying her bag

"Baby, you look cute" Bianca Said

"Thanks" she smiled and they began taking pictures

They got to the parking lot and met Fredrick and Jasper

"Baby" Bianca cooed

"How are you doing", he asked

"I'm fine" she replied and he pecked her lips

"What are you doing here," Sweeney asked Fredrick

"I'm sorry Sweeney, please come back to me" Fredrick begged going on his knees while the two love birds continued their lovey-dovey

"I told you to stay away from me, I can never have you back into my life, let's that stick into your head," she said to him

"Bianca I'm leaving already, tell Jasper to drop you off before going to work," she said and entered her car in anger.

Anytime she sees his face, it reminds her of how she was greatly humiliated. He cheated on her with one of their coursemates and when she confronted him about it. He insulted her in front of everybody and humiliated her.

She cried as she ignited the car and drove down the road roughly. Fredrick sighed before standing up

NIGHT

GREGOR'S MANSION

Micheal drove into the compound and packed in the parking lot. He went on a date with Sydney at Fiona's request and he's here because Fiona requested to see them.

They entered the mansion and met her in the sitting room watching a soap opera

"Welcome Micheal and my baby," Fiona said and went to hug Sydney

"Good evening Mom" Sydney replied

"Good evening ma'am" Micheal greeted

"Evening, how was the office " she replied Micheal

"It was fine ma'am"

"It's been a long since we dined together, Let's head to the dining room," Fiona said and went to the dining room while they followed behind

They sat down and the maids began serving the dishes. They began eating and Fiona broke the silence after a few minutes

"When are you getting the dresses," she asked

"I think it's next week" Sydney replied

"Okay, I hope you take good care of my daughter," Fiona said to Michael

"Sure ma'am, I will," he said and faked a smile

"Okay, I wish you good luck" she replied and Sydney smiled

Michael left Immediately after eating and Sydney went to see him off since she was spending the night at the mansion

"Hey wait," Sydney said to Michael who was already in the car

"What do you want," he asked

"I already know what I want, if you don't want me to tell on you," she said

"What is that," Micheal asked

"GET ME PREGNANT," she said
