The City of Miami,21st century***

The room was dimly lit, with only a few rays of moonlight shining through.

Piper stood by the window with her long hair covering half of her face, she just quarreled with Frank because she refused to have sex with him, she has very strong morals, not to give herself to anyone until marriage

'' I love Frank, but why can't he understand'' Piper said, her voice filled with complex emotions...she looked around the room, she and Frank had spent the whole day together and were having fun until they came to his apartment and Frank wanted to go down with her but she refused, he left the apartment in annoyance.

On her way home, Piper called Frank but he wasn't picking up....

"Pick up Frank, I'm sorry," Piper said with a cracking voice, after calling countless times she gave up

She drove into the snow's building, coming down from her car.... Piper 'sighed'

The Snow family was a well-to-do family, they weren't considered among the richest in the country but they lived comfortably

Piper is the illegitimate daughter of the family, her mother died while giving birth to her and she was brought up without motherly love, her stepmother detests her and she passes the hatred to her daughter, Priscilla. They both come together to make home a living hell for her whenever Mr Snow is out on a business trip.

Piper walked into the building, her stepmother and sister were both sitting in the living room discussing....she greeted her stepmother and was about to go to her room

"Come here Piper," Mrs snow said

"Yes Mum" she walked back

Mrs snow stood up and slapped her, the maid cleaning by the side gasped...

"How many times will I tell you to stop addressing me as a mum, I am not your mother, and I will never be like that cheap whore who slept with my husband for money, oh she's so lucky she died before I found out about her, if not she would have seen the other side of me" Mrs snow blurted

Priscilla laughed out

With tears streaming down her face Piper apologized "I'm sorry mum" she unknowingly said, she quickly corrected herself not without receiving another slap from Priscilla this time

"Why did you slap me?" piper shouted

" Fool, I'm only helping my mum correct you" Priscilla mocked

Piper ran up to her room, slammed the door, and sat on the floor crying, looking up at her mother's frame

"Why would you leave me to face all this alone? I have so many sad memories since I was born, why didn't you just abort me." She cried...

She sat there crying till she slept off.

*** The next morning, the sun shone brightly in a spacious room revealing the side view of a strikingly handsome young man sleeping peacefully, the alarm rang out causing the young man's brows to knit into a frown. He woke up, revealing his full face, Davis Kingston, the handsome billionaire god. He walked into the bathroom to clean up. With how built he is, one will think he pays extra attention to his body figure but no God specially designed his body. He came out of the dressing room already dressed in a well-ironed navy blue suit, his dark hair already styled. With his natural cold look he walked out of the room, his assistant, Jerry already waiting for him

"Good morning Mr Kingston" Jerry greeted

"Hm" he responded

"Sir, you have one last meeting with the CEO of Ever Groups, they are asking for a collaboration, and the meeting will be held around 4 pm" That's the last thing we have to do in this city, I already prepared the flight back home, we'll be heading home tomorrow by 8 am" jerry presented his schedule

"No," Davis said in a cold tone

Jerry shivered, scared that he might have made a mistake.

Sir? Jerry asked

"Arrange for the flight to be by 4 pm today" Davis simply said

"What about the meeting with the CEO of Ever Groups" Jerry asked

"Cancel it," Davis said....after a while, he added,

"Ever groups are currently facing bankruptcy, they're only looking for a collaboration to get funds for their company"

Jerry was stunned, he suspected Ever Group was facing bankruptcy but decided not to be forward...it's how his boss knew that was a shock to him, however, he immediately said

"All right sir, I'll cancel the meeting, and arrange for the flight"

"Anything else for me to do?"

Jerry looked at him with pitiful eyes and said " No sir, you can rest till when we have the flight, I'll come to take you to the airport". His boss was a workaholic, and he never rested, at such a young age different responsibilities rested on his shoulders. Jerry shook his head and left

Davis took out his phone to call his younger brother Daniel, after a few rings, he picked up

"Hey Bro," Daniel said in a playful tone

"Stupid, I'll be returning home this evening, Do me a favor," Davis said coldly

"Why are you so cold, anyways what do you want"

"Get Mr and Mrs Kingston out of the house for me"

"Why?"

"I badly want to rest, I don't want their nagging"

"What did you do, that'll make them nag"

"I ignored Camela"

Daniel laughed out

"It's okay bro, I'll help you"

Davis sighed and hung up

***Back in the snow family, Piper sat in her room, still trying to reach Frank but to no avail, she decided to go to his house. On her way out of her room, she heard her stepmother's voice downstairs, Piper froze, sighed, and went back inside.

She decided to wait till her stepmother was out of the house before leaving to avoid trouble, Piper works as a part-time fashion designer at the same company her best friend and step-sister works at, so she decided to work on her designs while she waits for her stepmother to go out

***Annabel Romilly

Annabel works as a makeup artist in an entertainment group, which is rumored to be owned by Felix Roberts but no one has ever seen him in the company.

She's a diligent young lady who strives to earn a living and support her aged mother but even with all the challenges she faces, she is a no-nonsense lady, pretty in her way, how she became Piper's best friend is one of days Priscilla tried bullying Piper at the entertainment company, Annabel stood up for her which almost got her fired.

Priscilla is a model, a respected one at that, because of her father's little influence she rose to the top ten models in the country. The entertainment company was hosting a runway show and was scouting for models, so top models are to look their best, naturally makeup artists are usually the busiest this season and it was rumored that the owner of the entertainment company Felix Roberts will be visiting for the first time.

Annabel was told she'd be doing Priscilla's makeup, she hated Priscilla but it was her job anyway... she sighed and knocked on Priscilla's hotel room

"Come in"

"Good day," Annabel said

Priscilla chuckled

" How unfortunate you are, the last time we met you were proving the knight in shining armor of that fool called Piper, isn't it?... Get here quickly and do your work"

Annabel silently sighed and prayed that she wouldn't get fired if Priscilla provoked her...

As expected, Priscilla provokes Annabel by insulting her mother which leads to Annabel giving her a hot slap

"Did you just slap me" Priscilla shouted, her eyes were red and the slap was so hot that Annabel's five fingers were imprinted on Priscilla's cheek...

"I'll slap you again if you dare insult my mother again foolish thing" Annabel spat, took her makeup equipment, and left.

"You slut, I'll make you pay for laying your hands on me".

Piper got to Frank's house later that evening, she didn't need to knock because she had the spare key to his apartment. She got into the house, cleaned everywhere, and decided to prepare a meal for him, Frank came back an hour later, he walked into the house, and a beautiful aroma coming from the kitchen hit his nose...

He walks into the kitchen to see a slender figure, focused on what she was doing like she was going to be paid for it, he smiled...

Piper turns around to see him staring at her

"Frank" she called

"Hey" he responded

"I'm sorry"

"I'm also sorry, I shouldn't have forced you to do what you don't want," Frank said

He walked up to her envelopes her in a hug and said "I missed you"

Piper smiled, only Frank and Annabel put a smile on her face, her life revolves around the both of them

"I made you something to eat," Piper said smiling

"Thanks, sweetie, let me freshen up," Frank said, pecked her and went upstairs

Back at the entertainment company, Annabel was receiving a heavy scolding from her director...

Turns out Priscilla reported to her director and blew everything out of proportion, adding what she didn't do

"How could you strip her naked and beat her up" Director Daisy asked

"Ma'am, I didn't, she insulted my mum and I only slapped her, I didn't beat her up as she said" Annabel defended, she tends to take responsibility for her actions even if she's wrong, she was raised well

Knowing the kind of person Priscilla is and her scheming nature, Director Daisy knew Annabel was saying the truth

"I'm only letting you off this time because of how diligent you are, she's a top model, ignore her...next time I won't be this nice. You can leave"

"Thanks, ma'am"

On her way out, Annabel saw Priscilla standing by the door, smiling conquerously, she gritted her teeth and left...

However, she decided to check on Piper, she brought out her phone and called

"Hey bestie," Piper said

" You sound happy, won a jackpot?"

Piper giggled

"I'm having a good time with Frank"

"That's nice, I got into trouble because of your crazy step sister, God knows how much I can't stand that witch"

"Please ignore her, I don't want you to lose your job, I'll stop by the house this evening to see you and Aunty"

"All right, let me leave you to love, see you later and use protection"

Piper gasped

"What do you mean?, You know I won't do that till we get married"

"I know and I'm just joking," Annabel said laughing

"All right bye"

Stone Residence

Mrs stone is sitting on the couch watching a television show while sipping juice

Frank walks in smiling after dropping Piper at Annabel's house

"Good evening Mum"

"How are you son? And where are you coming from looking all excited"

" I'm good mum, I just dropped Piper at her best friend's house, we spent the whole day together"

Mrs stone smiled

"When are you planning on getting married to her, I love Piper so much and would want her to be my daughter-in-law, what's with the hold up"

"I'm already planning the engagement Mum, and we'll go see Piper's father when he returns from his business trip that's what is keeping us"

"Can't wait" Mrs stone giggled

The Stone family was also a well-to-do family, even considered richer than the Snow family, Mr stone passed away a few years ago, and ever since Frank and his mum have promoted the family business to where it is currently...

WHITE RESIDENCE

Camela is seen slapping and punishing two maids who made a mistake in not serving her dinner on time

"How dare you low lives" she shouted

The maids could only shiver

Mr and Mrs White walk into the house coming from an event to see her hitting a maid

"What are you doing?" Mr White scolded

He asked one of the maids what happened and after much explanation

"Why would you hit them, when you were the same person who asked them to serve it after you had your bath"

"Dad, why are you supporting them, Mum" she faced her mother

"Stop scolding her" Mrs White told her husband, you can leave she told the maids

"I heard Davis is back from his business trip, why don't you go up and dress nicely and go see him"

"Thanks, Mum" Camela smiled and left

"Why do you keep spoiling her, she's 25 already," Mr White said to his wife

"That doesn't mean she's not my baby anymore," she said and went to their room

Mr. White shook his head, he isn't in support of how his wife spoils and supports his daughter's misdeeds, she was too arrogant for his liking and he knew there would be a time when his wife wouldn't be able to support Camela anymore

Camela drove to Kingston's residence with a smile on her face...

She drove into the spacious mansion, walked into the well-decorated living room...

Davis, Daniel, Jameson, and Felix were all seated watching a football match, Davis was forced to watch it by his friends tho....

Camela walked in with a smile

"Hello guys," she said smiling

Davis, Daniel, and Felix all sighed at the same time

Jameson being the playboy among the group of friends stood up and started praising her, he also doesn't like her but he can't resist anything under skirts....

The friends left, leaving Davis and Camela alone....

"What are you doing here?" Davis asked

Camela frowned but quickly masked it up

"I came to see my fiance, anything wrong?"

"You've seen me, you can leave," Davis said coldly

"Why are you so cold to me, I'm your soon-to-be wife, why can't you just treat me like other fiances do to their fiancee" Camela faked tears

"You're despicable camela, nothing is loving about you, and I'm sure you have a hand in what happened years ago and if I found out you do I'll make you pay, leave my house," Davis said coldly, and leave

Camela shivered, she was so scared but she let out a throaty laugh

"He can't find out, I covered my tracks well," she said and left

Davis Room

Davis laid on the couch, tears streaming down from his eyes as he recalled what happened years ago

***FLASHBACK(4 years ago)

23 years Davis was seen running around the park with a slender figure, his love, Victoria Banks, he was still betrothed to Camela at the time but he was madly in love with his Toria

Her smile brightened his morning, she was really beautiful

But on that fateful night, he was returning home when he received a call that Toria had been shot and had been rushed to the hospital....on getting there...he looked into Toria's ward, seeing her battling for her life shattered his heart into pieces. The doctor finally came out and gave Davis the shock of his life...Toria was gone....

He rushed into her ward crying and begging her not to leave him....then a nurse came in and gave him a note, Toria had written a letter before she passed on...

Davis was too heartbroken to open the letter.....after burying her, he went home, took out the letter without reading it, and tossed it inside his drawer, alongside everything that reminded him about her...

He wallowed in pain and agony for weeks, then promised himself never to open his heart to any woman again.

Davis stood up, cleaned his tears then sighed

He said to himself, "I'm still trying to find who killed you Toria, and when I do, the person will surely pay"

The fresh evening breeze blew outside the snow's residence

Frank is outside waiting for Piper, he's planning on proposing to her that evening, he already asked her out on a dinner date...

Piper walks out with a flowery Red dress, which looks like the dress was specifically made for her, she comes out with a beautiful smile and Frank can't help but return it, soon she'll be his wife and he'll do all he wants to her, he said in his mind.

"You look amazing" Frank complimented

"Thanks, babe," Piper said already blushing

"Can't wait for you to give birth to little Piper, so I'll have two beauties to stare at for the rest of my life" Frank said, trying to give her a hint of the engagement

Blushing hard already, Piper couldn't help but giggle

He opened the car door, and she walked in

"So, where to?" Piper asked

"You'll see" Frank answered with a smile

The ride to the spacious restaurant was a silent one, not an awkward silent tho...

Both parties occupied with their thoughts with smiles on their faces

Soon, they got to the restaurant, Frank came out to open the door for Piper

"Wow," she said as she walked

Frank laughed, she had yet to see anything

They both walked into the restaurant holding hands, Piper would have run out if Frank didn't hold her. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with the color of love, she was moved to tears...no one had ever done something this beautiful for her

Turns out Frank booked the whole restaurant, so they were the only ones there..... leading her to the center seat, Piper couldn't withhold the tears immediately she saw the "Will you marry me" question boldly written with flowers on the beautifully decorated table. With tears of happiness streaming down her face, she turns around to see Frank on one knee, with a ring.

"Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning. You gave love meaning in my life Piper, I love you so much. Be my wife" Frank said

Words can't describe how Piper feels at the moment

"I'll marry you," she said crying and blushing at the same time

The rest of the dinner went well, with both of them confessing the love they have for each other.

The day ended and Frank drove back to the snow's residence, dropped off Piper

Piper walks in with a smile, she feels indifferent about informing her stepmother about her engagement. She decided not to inform her, on getting to the living room, Piper met a full house, her dad had returned from his business trip

"Dad" Piper screamed and ran into her father's embrace

Her Dad treats her well, but he was never around if not living in the snow residence wouldn't be hell for her.

"Ps love" Mr snow calls out as he fondly does, shortening her name

"I miss you so much, dad"

"I miss you too sweetheart"

"How was your trip?"

"It was all right, so won't share the good news with everyone"

Piper was stunned.

Turns out Frank had spoken to Mr snow before proposing to Piper

The look on her stepmother and step-sister's face was deadly when they heard the word "good news", they hated Piper with passion and wanted nothing good for her.

Piper looked at their faces, with hesitation, she said

"Frank engaged me today"

"What?" Priscilla shouted

Mrs snow could only grit her teeth

"I'm so happy for you Ps love" Mr snow hugged her

"So, in two days, Frank and his mother will visit us to have dinner with their soon-to-be bride's family" Mr snow added

"Thanks, Dad, I'll go my room to wash up," Piper said with a smile

Mr Snow nodded, looking at her with so much love. He cheated on his wife with his late secretary, Piper's mum, but he doesn't regret it one bit, his wife is a woman with so much trouble and his secretary was a sweet loving young woman, she showed him what love and care felt like but it's a pity she died while giving birth to his angel.

Mr. Snow kept looking up, remembering the moments he had with Piper's mum, he sighed, turning around, he met his wife and daughter's deadly gaze...

"What's with the look" Mr Snow asked

"She can't get married"

"And why is that"

"Piper can't get married before Priscilla"

" I ask again, why?"

"She is your illegitimate child, and I won't let her get married before our daughter"

"Your daughter isn't ready to get married, is she?, She has no suitor so why will I stop Piper from getting married"

" So now she's my daughter"

"You know that's not what I mean"

"You cheating husband, you give that slut's child so much love than you give our daughter"

"I already apologized for cheating on you, why bring that up"

"I won't let her get married before my child," Mrs Snow said and left

Priscilla who had been sitting quietly, lost in her thoughts, finally stood up and left with her mother

Mr Snow just sighed...

Annabel's house

The next day, Piper spends time at Annabel's house

Mrs Romilly drops a plate of steak frites, a common French dish, for Piper

"Thanks, Aunt"

"Your welcome my dear, I'm so happy you'll be getting married soon, I really can't wait to attend your wedding let your friend keep waiting"... Mrs. Romilly said

"Mum, it's just a wedding, I'm happy for Piper, but marriage is a lot, I hope I don't get married soon," Annabel said

"Will you keep quiet* Mrs Romilly said and threw a towel on her

Piper and Annabel laughed

"We'll be leaving now mum," Annabel said and dragged Piper out

Entertainment Company

Still in preparation for the runway show...Piper and Annabel walked into the massive building, heading to their various departments....

"I hope I don't meet my step-sister today," Piper said

"Why are you so afraid of her?"

"I'm the illegitimate daughter, and I feel like my mother wronged her mother"

"Stop feeling indebted, you weren't there when any of that happened, and it isn't your fault that her mother doesn't know how to keep a man" Annabel mocked

"Okay"

"Look at me, if your crazy step-sister tries nonsense with you, just call me, I'm only a floor away," Annabel said

"Thanks, bel" Piper smiled

"All right I'll see you later," Annabel said heading towards the elevator. Her department was on the 3rd floor while Piper's was on the 2nd floor.

Piper turned towards the head of the department office to sign in, when she heard her name...she turned in that direction and saw her step-sister walking towards her with her assistant...

"I heard Frank proposed," Priscilla said

"Hm"

"I wanted to congratulate you," Priscilla said with a dirty smirk on her face

"Thanks," Piper said and walked away

"You think you can get married before me, you don't know what's coming your way," Priscilla said looking at Piper's departing figure.....

Davis office

Jerry knocked on the office door and Davis at the other end asked him to "come in"... He walked into the office....

"Sir, we received a call from Mr. Felix's assistant, inviting us to their upcoming runway show"

"All right"

Jerry nodded and left... a call came in immediately from Davis's phone

"What is it" Davis answered

Felix's voice came from the other end of the phone...

"Loosen up bro, you received the call from my assistant right?"

"Yes"

"Will you turn up"

"I'll think about it"

" Davis don't think, just turn up....we could use the presence of the youngest billionaire"

Scoffs*

"I'll be there" Davis ended the call

Outside the office, camela is arguing with Jerry, insisting that she must see Davis, she's dressed in a skimpy gown, revealing all her assets, no doubt she's endowed and her beauty makes heads turn, but all those doesn't move Mr Kingston

"Miss Camela, Mr. Kingston is quite busy, you really can't see him unless you have an appointment," Jerry said with a frustrated look.... he knows the kind of lady Camela is and also doesn't like her

"Do you realize that I am his fiancee, and you're refusing to let me in can get you fired"

Jerry laughed inwardly if there's anyone the Davis would want out of his life...it'll be Camela

Inside the office, Davis sat in his chair, listening to everything going on outside.....he called Jerry, using the desk telephone beside him. "Let her in," he said

Jerry received the call from Davis and said to Camela...

"You can go in Miss Camela"

Camela hissed and walked into the office

"You need to sack that rude assistant of yours, does he know who I am," camela said walking into the office

"What do you want" Davis stared at her blankly

"Won't you at least offer me a seat" Seeing the look on Davis's face...she immediately added...babe I miss you" She walked to his side trying to touch him

"Don't" Davis said coldly

Camela hissed and sat down

"I heard the runway show will be held soon, my parents want us to go as a couple"

"Is that all"

Camela kept quiet

"You can leave if that's all," Davis said, returning his attention to the files on the table.

Camela just sat there with a hideous look
