SHEENA
Sheena slid the bright yellow curtains of her bedroom window to let the sunlight in before pushing open the window. The cool morning breeze caressed her face and exposed skin as she rubbed her hands on her arms while looking up at the sky.
"Good morning, Drake," she whispered and stared at the sky as her heart felt heavy with emotions, remembering their old days.
With a sad smile, she turned around and went on with her daily routine before walking out of the apartment building.
She was checking the contents of her bag while walking at a fast pace when her head hit something or someone.
"Ow!" She looked up at a charming face with piercing blue eyes, dirty blond hair and a wide smile.
"Cyrus! What are you doing here?"
"Get in the car first. Look at the time!" Cyrus opened his car door for her and she debated for a few seconds before getting in.
"Thanks!"
Cyrus got into the driver's seat and they drove away.
"So! What brought you here?"
"A woman!" Cyrus took a quick glance at her as she gave him a bewildered look.
He laughed loudly in his gruff voice and said,
"Look at your face. You can't believe it, right?"
Sheena stayed silent and stared at him with an amused smile while twirling a few strands of her silky blonde hair around her finger.
"Okay, hear me out," Cyrus began.

The car came to a stop in front of the Beans & Cocktail Cafe Bar. Even though she'd worked here for over two years, the sight of it still made her smile. The wooden signboard gave it a cosy vibe, and the violets in the hanging baskets matched the blue paint on the front door.
"See you later!" Sheena said with a faint smile and was about to open the car door when her phone rang and Little Blooms Orphanage caller ID flashed on the screen.
"Good morning, Agatha."
"Good morning, Shaila. Are you coming today?"
"Of course. I'll be there after lunch. Why? Is everything alright?"
"Actually Shaila, we have a problem."
"What happened?"
"We found a little boy crying outside the orphanage early this morning. We waited to see if someone would come to pick him up but no one came. There is a bag with him too but we'll talk about that later. Right now he is crying nonstop and no one has been able to calm him down yet. All the kids here love you, maybe you can...."
"I am coming right now. Don't worry," Sheena spoke up before Agatha finished her sentence.
"But the cafe?"
"Rose will handle everything. Don't you worry," She ended the call and Cyrus looked at her questioningly.
"Do you need to go to the orphanage? I can take you."
"Actually...yes. But you shouldn't slack off from your responsibilities. Won't it waste your time?"
"Nah. Don't worry. Let's go."
"Wait a minute. I have to inform Rose."
She went inside the cafe while Cyrus waited in the car. Sheena greeted everyone at the cafe and asked her assistant Rose to handle the cafe without her for a day.
Sheena opened the car door after five minutes and slid in.
"Let's go!"
"Shaila, the mother of all kids, reporting for duty," Cyrus said in a teasing tone, making Sheena laugh.
"For how long are you going to use this fake identity?" Cyrus asked and Sheena quieted down.
She shrugged her shoulders and said,
"As long as Rosario is free or alive."
"Why don't you return home? You'll be protected 24/7 and can live freely. You were once my secretary and financial advisor. Now because of this fake identity, you can't do what you are qualified for. Don't you think you are wasting your bright career?"
She shook her head and Cyrus added,
"Okay! But at least let James appoint a couple of bodyguards for you here."
"Cyrus! Stop. You know I can't let anyone here know my real identity or they'd be in danger. What if Rosario ever doubts me and uses others to get to me? My fake identity is better for everyone here."
Cyrus stayed silent for some time before speaking again as Sheena was looking at the street passing by.
"It's Drake's death anniversary today, right?"
She turned her head towards Cyrus and gave a sad smile before nodding her head.
"You remember?"
"Of course. Chris.....uh..sorry."
Sheena let out a forced chuckle and said,
"It's okay. You don't need to stop thinking or talking about your brother or abandon him because of me."
"I know. How can I abandon my only brother who is more like a father to me? I just didn't want to hurt your feelings."
The rest of the ride went quietly until Little Blooms Orphanage came into view. Sheena bid goodbye to Cyrus and got out of the car.
As soon as she put her feet inside, pushing open the orphanage gate, a little kid's cries fell on her ears. The old watchman greeted her with a smile and she greeted back before walking ahead.
"Here you go. Let's see who this little guy is," she muttered while walking inside.
Entering the receiving room, she saw one of the staff holding a small child who was sobbing incessantly.
This must be the new arrival that they'd called her for.
"Hello baby," she cooed and Maggie turned around.
Sheena saw the little boy's face and her heart skipped a beat. She walked towards them with her arms spread out.
"Come, baby, come to me," she said and took him in her arms as he clutched the heart-shaped pendant resting just below her neck.
Seeing the turquoise blue eyes, and sandy blond hair, Sheena blinked back her tears as her heart was filled with longing for Drake whose eyes and hair perfectly matched with the kid.
Thankfully, the boy calmed down in just 5 minutes after she took him and everyone sighed in relief.
"You are a magician, Shaila. No matter what the problem is or how much a child is crying, they always calm down as soon as they are with you." Maggie smiled and caressed the little boy's head.
Sheena smiled at her when they heard a phone ringing while a middle-aged brunette walked towards them in a green maxi dress.
Agatha smiled at Sheena before picking up the receiver.
Sheena was playing with the little boy and Maggie was busy with the other kids when Agatha squealed.
Sheena looked at her with a raised eyebrow as she was beaming with happiness.
"Guess what? We are having a donor this evening. The chairman of a multi-billion dollar company will be donating a huge sum of money to our orphanage. Let's get to work and prepare for his welcome. He'll be here by 7 pm."
"God bless him," Sheena whispered, thanking the donor while Maggie, Agatha and the older kids rejoiced.
******
Christian got out of his Maybach while buttoning his navy blue suit and looked up at the skyscraper with Blue Diamond Hotel written in cursive on top of it.
Christian saw three of his staff waiting for him. They were a formidable team, without Amelia to organise him and his finances, Eric to manage his projects and Remmy to keep him safe, he wouldn't have made it to Forbes Richlist within 2 years of taking over as the chairman of Adams & Sons Med Tech.
It had been 5 years since he had taken over his father's company at the age of 29, which he wasn't willing to do but had to, because of his younger brother Cyrus' insistence.
He walked ahead with Remmy while Amelia and Eric followed them inside the hotel. They were guided by the hotel manager to the conference hall where the client was waiting.
As Remmy pushed the door open, Mr Hilton Bowman, their new client, stood up along with 2 more people accompanying him.
"Good evening Mr Adams." He stretched out his hand at Christian.
They shook hands and everyone greeted each other before taking their seats.
Eric presented the details of the new medical instruments which the Adams and Son's Med Tech was going to assemble in their country using the parts manufactured by the Bowmans in London.
Amelia noted down the client's conditions and put forth theirs. The meeting went smoothly and at last, they signed the deal.
"Thank you Mr Adams for the amazing idea of developing this new instrument. It will prove to be a breakthrough in the medical industry," Mr Bowman said while shaking hands with Christian.
"The pleasure is ours, Mr Bowman and it wouldn't have been possible without our project lead, Eric Stanley." Christian gestured towards Eric with a smile.
Hilton Bowman shifted his gaze to Eric and smiled appreciatively.
"Your presentation was excellent. I am impressed with your talent."
"Thank you," Eric smiled.
They had lunch in the hotel's restaurant together.
"This is my favourite restaurant. I am glad you chose this hotel instead of our office. I love good food and it's a cherry on the cake if it's in the Blue Diamond Hotel," Hilton Bowman said with a big smile and Christian smiled back.
"The Chairman and Managing Director, Mr James Anderson, is a dear friend of mine. So obviously I'll choose this place. I am glad you like the food. I love their food too."
"Oh!! What a nice surprise! So you know him personally ?" he said in a cheerful voice and Christian nodded.
The rest of the lunch went smoothly and Christian went to his room in the presidential suite.
He was in London for his business deal and for a donation from his company. He had researched orphanages in London for yearly donations and one orphanage stood out in them which had the largest occupancy and was in dire need of money. He felt a pull towards it.
After he read about this particular orphanage, he couldn't look at the others because his mind kept wandering to that one orphanage. So he had decided to donate there.
He picked up his phone from the side table and dialled a number.
"Amelia!" he said after she received his call.
"Yes sir! Do you need something?" she asked in a cheerful tone and he sighed while rolling his eyes.
"Did you call the Little Blooms Orphanage about the donation ?"
"Yes sir! I already did just before we met with Mr Bowman."
He thanked her and ended the call with a frustrating sigh. Amelia's subtle advances made him irritated at times.
She was good at her work and that was the only reason he hadn't fire her yet.
"Why do I feel this strange pull towards this orphanage?" he asked himself and opened the laptop once again to study their website but didn't find anything strange.
His eyes fell upon the list of staff of the orphanage which he ignored and was about to close the laptop when his eyes caught one name.
"Shaila!"
SHEENA
The rest of Sheena's day went by at the orphanage, playing with Tyler, the new boy who was brought in today. They got his name and age from his birth certificate that was with him in his bag. He was 3.5 years old.
Sheena felt sad for the boy and the thought of adopting him crossed her mind once but she shook off the thought because for that she'd have to use her real identity and she couldn't afford to do that.
Rosario, the mafia lord might be looking for ways to take revenge from her family and if he ever knew that she was living alone in a different country without any protection, he'd surely take advantage of it.
It was 6 pm and Sheena was leaving when Tyler started crying. She walked to the door unwillingly but Tyler followed her and tugged her skirt while crying.
"Shala, don go! Pwese," he said in his cute baby voice and Sheena couldn't refuse.
"You cute little thing! Are you going to force me to shift here permanently ?" Sheena asked while narrowing her eyes at him.
"At least stay until the donor arrives here. He'll be here in an hour." Agatha's voice came in and she agreed. Not for the donor but for Tyler.
Sheena picked him up and went to the backyard where there was a huge tent house for the kids. All the kids were inside the orphanage, having evening snacks and watching TV shows but Tyler wanted to play outside with Sheena. So they enjoyed themselves in the tent house
After nearly an hour of playing, Sheena sensed the smell of something burning and looked around when she saw smoke coming out from the gap below the closed door. Lantern lights hanging around from the trees were giving off a calming vibe, so she failed to notice the change earlier.
Now she could see black smoke rising in the sky and fear engulfed her, not for herself but for Tyler.
Her heart raced as she rushed to the door to open it but as she touched the knob, her fingers burnt.
"Oh my God! Agatha? Agatha! Maggie? Anyone there? Please open the door,'' she shouted and picked up Tyler.
She looked at the boundary wall which was 6ft in height and had a spiked fence over it. So leaving from there was not possible. There was no way to walk around the building to reach the front door because the backyard was blocked from the front side by big walls, the same height as the building.
They were trapped and if the fire wasn't doused in time, soon the plants and trees would catch fire and it wouldn't take long to reach them.
"Someone help!!!!" Sheena shouted as loudly as she could but she wasn't sure anyone could hear her because everyone must have left the building.
Tyler started crying and tears streamed down Sheena's face looking at his scared face.
"Don't cry, Tyler. I won't let anything happen to you," she told him softly and put his head on her shoulder to protect his face from the hot air that was starting to hit them.
"God! Please help me. At least save Tyler," she muttered while looking up with blurry eyes when the door burst open.
She couldn't control herself and cried loudly as relief washed over her looking at someone standing at the door. She couldn't see the face and because of the blazing fire behind him, she could only make out his silhouette.
He looked like an angel to her and she rushed to him before handing Tyler over.
"Wait!" she said and rushed back to the tent.
She took a napkin and poured water on it to make it wet and then went to the man to put the wet cloth on Tyler's nose.
"Hold it and go," she said and the man answered,
"I am not leaving you here. Let's go." He grabbed Sheena's wrist and pulled her but she didn't move.
"I'll slow you down. Just go! Firefighters will be here soon."
But she was not sure if she was safe anymore because the fire had started blasting out from the windows and a few potted plants outside had caught fire already.
"Stay here. I'll be back," the man said and ran away with a crying Tyler who was clutching the man's neck like his life depended on him.
Sheena was staring at their retreating figures while standing near the door, 4 steps above the ground when the wooden door frame began falling.
She moved back abruptly and lost balance, twisting her right ankle. She fell on the ground face first and a scream escaped her lips, her foot was hurting like anything.
The burning frame fell off on the stairs in a position that it could slip anytime and fall on her.
"Drake? Is it my last day?" she muttered, looking at the starless night sky that had turned red because of smoke.
"Sheena!! Get up. Come here."
She looked at the door and found the same man standing there, stretching his hand in her direction.
"Where is Tyler?" she asked and squinted her eyes as her eyes were now burning.
"He is safe. Now come here or I'll have to die here too."
"I can't get up. I twisted my ankle. You go. Thank you for saving Tyler," she said as more pain erupted from her ankle and she hissed in pain.
She thought the man would run away but he came forward carefully crossing the burning log and bent down before slipping his hands under her knees and shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Sheena asked with her eyes half closed as she couldn't open it because of the burning.
"Picking you up. What else? Look around yourself. Trees are catching fire."
He picked her up bridal style and started climbing the stairs.
His voice sounded familiar but Sheena couldn't point it out where she heard it.
How did he know her real name? No one should know who she was.
Her heart drummed inside her chest.
As they entered inside, extreme heat enveloped her whole body and both of them started coughing but the man didn't stop. She rubbed her eyes and opened them to look around and the first thing she saw was something falling down which was completely engulfed in fire.
She was about to scream when the man turned to his right to protect her legs those were directly under the burning log or whatever it was. The object engulfed in fire fell on his left arm.
Urghhh!!!!
He grunted but kept walking at a fast pace.
"Oh my god! Your jacket." Sheena stretched her hand towards his left arm, trying to douse the fire when he said,
"What are you doing? Dousing fire with bare hands? Just stay still. I'll deal with it later."
Christian!!!!
She shifted her gaze to his face and she was right. It was Christian.
"You? What are you doing here? Put me down, Christian," she shouted as anger surged through her.
Christian looked at Sheena but said nothing and kept walking. Sheena was about to say more when they reached the front door and he rushed outside.
Sheena wiggled in his arms as she wanted him to put her down but he tightened his hold around her and she gritted her teeth looking at him. Christian was looking straight ahead with a poker face and then he told someone,
"Can I get a chair or something? She twisted her ankle. She needs to sit."
"Oh my god! Sir! What is this?" A beautiful redhead wearing a maroon formal jacket over a black tank top and maroon pencil skirt rushed to them and began dousing the fire on his jacket with a napkin.
She shouted in a shrill voice, "Someone get a bottle of water."
Sheena's nose scrunched up as she watched her over-reacting when she heard the siren of the fire truck and rolled her eyes.
"Everything is already burnt, Lazy asses," she whispered to herself and Christian looked at her with an amused expression.
Sheena remembered Christian was still holding her.
"Why are you still holding me? I said put me down. I can handle myself. Just put me down," she said in an angry whisper and he looked at her with knitted eyebrows.
The fire on his jacket was already doused by then.
When Sheena thought he'd argue, he did the opposite.
"Fine. Go handle yourself," he said and abruptly put her down on her legs.
Ahhhhh!!!!
A pain erupted from her ankle and she screamed, finding something to hold on to but there was nothing except Christian's dominating figure.
She was about to fall when Christian grabbed her hand and pulled her to him before carrying her again.
"You handled yourself well, I must say," he remarked sarcastically with a smirk and she fumed in anger.
"Sir, here. Put her on this chair." The red head brought a chair and Sheena sighed in relief as Christian finally put her down on it and sat on one knee in front of her.
"What are you doing?"
"Sir! What are you doing?"
Both Sheena and the red head shrieked but Christian remained unfazed. He gently took Sheena's heels out and kept them aside before standing up.
"Thanks, Amelia," Christian said with a faint smile and she nodded.
"It's okay sir. I am always happy to help you," she said while batting her eyelashes at him and her cheeks turned red.
Her cringe behaviour irritated Sheena.
Sheena was looking at Amelia when she heard a child's cry.
"Tyler!! Oh my god! Where is Tyler?" she shouted while looking around and saw Agatha carrying him.
As they reached where Sheena and Christian were, Sheena was about to take him on her lap but Christian beat her to it.
"Hello, baby! Are you scared of the fire? We are here with you. You'll be safe." Christian talked to Tyler softly and put Tyler's head on his shoulder while patting his back. Surprisingly, Tyler calmed down and snaked his arms around Christian's neck.
"Oh my god! I don't know why this kid doesn't calm down with anyone else but he is happy and content with Shaila and now you too. I think you people have some connection with him," Agatha said with an amused smile while Sheena kept looking at Tyler and how he was sleeping on Christian's shoulder.
"Oh! By the way, Shaila. He is Mr Christian Adams. He is the one I told you about earlier today. The businessman, coming here for donation," Agatha said and Sheena's eyes widened.
She added, "But now what? It's completely destroyed. For what will he donate now?" Her face dropped.
"I wanted to help you people and I'll still help," Christian said and both of them looked at him.
"I'll re-build this orphanage. Do you people have any place where you can keep these children temporarily?" he asked and Agatha thought for some time with her fingers under her chin.
She shook her head and said,
"Nowhere, except shifting them to other orphanages. These kids don't want to be separated except for being adopted. They like it here with us. I don't know how they will cope." Her eyes turned glassy.
Christian seemed to think about something and spoke after a few minutes,
"Don't worry. I have a mansion nearby. All of you can stay there for sometime. It's huge enough to accommodate everyone. I'll make this place as good as new in a month. Then you people can shift here.
Agatha covered her mouth with her hands and her eyes widened as she said,
"Are you serious Mr Adams? That'll be so good. Will you really do that for us?"
"Yes. Why not? I promise, all of you can stay at my mansion and the orphanage will be ready in a month."
A team of doctors arrived to check on people. One of the doctors checked Sheena's ankle and said she had a sprain and needed bed rest for 2 days. He strapped a compression bandage around her ankle.
"How will you go, Shaila? You can't even walk properly," Agatha asked.
"I'll hire a cab. Don't worry."
"Okay. It's time for me to go too. I'll make arrangements for the construction and it'll start once the police finish checking the place," Christian said and Agatha took Tyler from him. He looked up with a bewildered expression.
"Tyler baby, say goodbye to Mr Christian and Shaila," Agatha asked him gently, he looked at them with wide eyes and then started wailing.
He stretched his hands to Sheena and Christian so he took him back. Tyler stopped crying soon and said
"Shala...come."
He snaked one arm around Christian's neck and stretched another arm to Sheena.
"Oh boy! Now what will we do? He is not ready to leave both of you," Agatha said with an amused smile and raised her eyebrows.
Everyone tried to convince Tyler to let Sheena and Christian go but he was adamant on his demand.
Finally when Sheena was about to give in, Amelia spoke,
"Will you be okay if I stay with you? Shaila can't come with us."
Tyler frowned at her and shouted,
"NO! Shala Chischen."
Amelia opened her mouth to say something but Sheena beat her to it. She had noticed Amelia's hostile expression towards Tyler earlier and it didn't go well with her. She wasn't going to let Tyler go with her.
"Okay baby. I'll go with you both."
Christian's eyes widened for a second before he composed himself and returned to maintaining a poker face.
When Sheena got into Christian's car, her eyes caught a glimpse of Amelia's hostile and irritated expression and she rolled her eyes.
Stupid crush. Sheena thought to herself and smirked.
But when her eyes shifted to her side and found Christian sitting beside her, something snapped in her and she spoke,
"Why did you save me? You should have let me die. If Tyler wouldn't have seen me, he would have agreed to go with you alone. For whom am I living any way? I was ready to go to Drake but you barged in," Sheena glared at him with gritted teeth and he glared back, but didn't say anything.
The rest of the ride went silently as Tyler fell asleep in Christian's arms.
As soon as the car stopped, Sheena looked up to see the Blue Diamond Hotel and her eyes widened.
"You are staying here?"
"Yes." Christian replied curtly and got out of the car, walked around to open the door for Sheena and stretched out his hand for her to hold.
"No need," Sheena said and put her foot down without holding his hand but his hand was still in the same position as he looked at her curiously.
Ouch!!Ow!!
Sheena shrieked and he grabbed her arm while Sheena leaned on him with her sprained leg resting against the car.
"Amelia!" He called out while looking behind Sheena. She turned around to see Amelia getting out of another car.
I think she is his secretary. Sheena thought but kept quiet.
"Bring her to my room," Christian said and put Sheena's hand on hers before walking away with Tyler.
Sheena put her hand around Amelia's shoulders while holding her heels in the other hand and started limp walking.
Sheena could sense Amelia's gaze on her and asked without looking at her,
"Do you want to ask something?"
"Do you know Christian sir?" she asked immediately as if waiting for Sheena to start a conversation.
"No."
"It feels like you both know each other before."
"Are you his secretary?"
"Yes."
"You like him!" Sheena said and looked at her when her face turned pale.
Sheena smirked and said,
"No need to interfere in my matters. And I am not a threat to you. He is all yours."
She didn't say anything more and they reached the presidential suite after a very long and uncomfortable walk and an elevator ride. Amelia pushed the door open and Sheena's eyes fell on Christian playing with Tyler on a sofa.
He had already changed into a turquoise blue t-shirt that was hugging his chiselled body and showing off his big biceps, along with a pair of black sweatpants.
Amelia took Sheena to the sofa and she plopped down on it heavily before letting out an exhausted sigh.
"You can go to your room and rest, Amelia," Christian told her without looking and Sheena noticed Amelia staring at him reluctantly.
"Sir! I can stay here to help Shaila," she said and Christian looked at her pointedly.
"Did you forget my rule? No female employee inside my room, no matter where we are, unless it's a life and death situation," he said in a domineering tone and Amelia nodded slowly before walking away while Sheena raised an eyebrow.
"I think I should call James and book another room," Sheena said as soon as Amelia went out.
Christian shifted his gaze to Sheena and said,
"You forgot the purpose of coming here. If you are going to sleep in another room, then it'll be better if you go home. No need to stay here. Because I am not going to go to your room in the middle of the night when Tyler wakes up and asks for you."
Sheena sighed and looked away.
Christian got up and said,
"Come!" he held her hand and she stood up from the sofa. He put his arm around her shoulders while holding her arm and they started walking.
A hiss escaped her lips because of the pain which had now increased because of walking for so long. But before Sheena could control it, Christian stopped. She looked up at him to say that she was fine when he abruptly carried her and she yelped in surprise.
"Why do you keep carrying me? I can walk with a little support," Sheena said in an angry tone but he said nothing and walked inside a bedroom followed by Tyler.
He almost threw her on the bed.
"What are you doing? If you don't want to carry me then don't. I am not asking you to. Why did you throw me? You should have left me to die there. Why do you keep saving me all the time?" Sheena yelled at him when he was walking away but abruptly turned to her and in a blink, he was hovering above her.
Sheena was sitting on the edge of the bed while his hands rested on both sides as he bent down. Their faces were inches apart and she backed away a little to have some distance.
His eyes were blazing with anger and a shiver ran down her spine. Sheena had never seen him so angry as he was always a calm, composed and friendly person, so this side of him scared her.
"Listen, Sheena. And listen to me carefully. You keep blaming me for something which I didn't do, or at least didn't do intentionally. But I never explained myself because somewhere I feel guilty too. But why do you keep talking about dying? What do you think, only Drake loved you? What about your parents, your brother James, your sister-in-law? Don't they deserve to see the girl happy and safe whom they love with all their heart? Don't they matter to you at all? You left everyone and have been staying in another country for 5 years. You don't talk to them often. Do you think one or two video calls to your own fucking family in a month is enough? You know what? You don't love them and you don't deserve the pure love they have for you. Never once did you go to see them. Don't you have the urge to see your niece and nephews? How can you be so selfish? It seems what I thought about you before was wrong. This is the real you, a self absorbed person who doesn't care about her family at all."
He stood up and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration before speaking again,
"You keep saying you love Drake. Do you remember his last words to you? He asked you to move on in life and be happy. Not to stay stuck on him but you are doing just the opposite of it. Do you think he is happy and proud of watching you like this? He knew the value of family, if he is watching you now, taking your family for granted, then I am so fucking sure that he is not proud of you. Think about it and don't fucking talk about dying ever again, at least not in front of me."
He got up and walked away from the room while Tyler kept staring at his retreating figure and then at Sheena.
Her eyes watered while her gaze fell on her phone lying beside and then on Tyler who was looking at her curiously.
"Come, baby. Come here," Sheena said and spread her arms for him with a smile. He jumped into her arms and wiped her tears which were just starting to fall.
After some time, Tyler got down from her lap and ran out of the room while she got up to go to the washroom. She lifted the injured leg and bent down to take support of the bed before crippling towards the washroom.
After the bed ended, she couldn't find anything nearby to grab and sat down with a frustrated sigh.
"I hate it. Why did I have to fall from the stairs?" she whispered when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
She looked up at Christian who was looking at her with a poker face.
"Let me help and don't argue. You shouldn't walk too much. The doctor has asked you for bed rest. So just let me help," he said and Sheena kept her mouth shut.
He carried her into the washroom and asked, "What do you want to do?"
"I want to take a bath but I don't have any clothes," Sheena said while looking everywhere but his face.
He put her inside the bathtub and opened the tap to fill it while asking,
"I think Amelia's clothes will fit you. Should I ask her?"
Sheena's eyes widened and she said,
"No! It won't fit me."
"Why? I think you both have similar figures."
She squeezed my eyes in frustration and said,
"I am telling you it won't.
"But why? You both have the same height, and the same figure, then what's the problem? Where would I get you clothes now? You take a bath. I'll ask her to send a pair of clothes for you." He turned around to leave.
"I told you her clothes won't fit," Sheena yelled.
"You are just being stubborn. Either tell me why her clothes won't fit you because I don't see any difference or just stay quiet." He turned to look at her with an annoying expression, his lips pressed in a straight line while his eyebrows met.
"Oh God! You are the stubborn one. It won't fit because my boobs are not huge like hers, dammit," Sheena blurted out and covered her mouth with hands as embarrassment crept up inside her.
Christian's eyes widened as they travelled down to her boobs and then he looked away abruptly.
Sheena gave him Rose's phone number and asked him to call her so that she could get a pair of pyjamas for her.
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid Sheena!" Sheena scolded herself while hitting the water inside the tub after Christian left and water splashed around the tub.
She took a long and calming bath inside the tub.
"Ah! I missed this," she whispered while sighing happily.
When she was done and was about to call Christian, he knocked on the door.
"Clothes are here. But I think you should put on a robe first and change your clothes in the closet."
She realised the bathrobe was too far from her. So Christian had to come inside with closed eyes and she had to guide him around.
"Okay. I am done. Now you can open your eyes," she said after wrapping the robe around her.
He turned around and took a step forward to carry her when he slipped.
"Oh my....." Sheena couldn't even get to say God because his 6 feet tall body collided with hers and they fell inside the tub which was still filled with water.
Ouch!!!
Sheena thought she'd hit her head but Christian's reflexes kicked in as he put his hand on the back of her head covering her neck along with it and used the other hand to support their weight inside the tub by holding the edge.
Water splashed around them as they hit the water, Christian's hand on the back of Sheena's head hit the tub and she felt its impact. Sheena could have died or slipped into a coma if she hit her head like that.
He saved her life. Again.
"I am sorry. I am sorry. I don't know how I slipped," Christian said as he was panicking and it was evident on his face.
"I am sorry. It was my fault. I had splashed water and forgot to tell you."
"Are you okay? Does your ankle hurt?" he asked while sitting up and pressing the button to drain out the water.
"Yes! I am okay. But you hurt your hand," Sheena said while taking his hand to check but he pulled it away.
"It's okay. It will be fine. We should get up and change first," he said and stood up before extending his other hand which was not injured.
Sheena got up with his support and he got out of the tub carrying her and made her sit on a stool in front of a long mirror.
"You sit here, I'll get you another robe."
He walked away while removing his drenched t-shirt and threw it in the laundry bin.
Sheena was left dumbfounded looking at Christian's glistening back. When he turned around, her breathing hitched looking at his chiselled body and his Adonis belt that was visible above the waistband of his sweatpants that were drenched now.
Water dripping from his hair made him look even more sexy and Sheena shivered a little.
What the hell is wrong with you? How can you think like this for the man because of whom...... Get a grip, Sheena. She thought while looking away and shook her head with closed eyes.
Christian noticed her reaction and his lips twitched, dying to break into a smile but he restrained himself and pressed his lips together.
He handed her a robe when Sheena said,
"Get me the clothes. I'll change here."
Christian got the bag in a minute and walked away.
She shuffled around the bag and her heart raced as she saw a sheer purple satin lingerie inside, that would end mid-thigh.
"Stupid Rose! She did it knowingly. Does she think I am here to have sex with him? Now what will I wear ?" she cursed under her breath and took out the lingerie to throw away when her eyes landed on the pair of white pyjamas.
She let out a relieved sigh before putting it on.
