"Doctor!! What the f**k are you trying to say?!"

"Sir, please come down. We did our very best, but we couldn't save her"

"I can see you are already tired of working!! You better go in there and wake her up, right now!!"

"I'm so sorry sir. We've already declared her dead and the death certificate has been signed. Please come down sir"

"F**k! F**k!! What is this Sofia?! Did you leave me and the baby just like that?! How on earth am I going to take care of her, huh!"

William Zane, a big business man who was married to Connor Sofia. He was an employee in his wife's family company before he married her. Although Zane was also an architect, Sofia's parents did not like him much because he was not of their standard. They only agreed to their marriage because he was capable of handling their business that was almost drowning. He loved his wife dearly and so did his wife. Well, so they thought!

"Just look at her, a rare beauty and a wealthy woman. Married to a very handsome man, who just had the most beautiful baby girl that I've ever seen in my life! Just lying down here, lifeless!"

"Hmmm! This life is really a f**ked up place!"

"Yeah! You are very correct! When I first saw the family, I thought maybe they were an angel's crew. I couldn't stop drooling. And now, she's gone! Leaving that poor child alone. I feel so sorry for that cute little baby"

"It's so sad. Please, let's just clean her up and prepare her for the morgue"

"Alright...! What can we do?"

"Nothing my dear. We just have to live with it. It's called life!"

The nurses looked at Sofia's lifeless body on the bed, in the delivery room and felt really bad for her. They could not stop feeling sorry for her. That was the day she had her baby girl. There were no complications at all, during her regular check-ups but right there on the bed after she delivered her baby, Sofia just stopped breathing. Even after declaring her dead, the doctors and nurses present there couldn't tell the exact reason she had died. Zane could not believe he had lost his wife just like that.

"How can you f**king say that, huh?! How can you not f**king know the reason my wife lost her life there!! You must be joking, doctor!!

"Just be ready for it!! I will make sure I bring this hospital down for this!! You dare tell me to my face that you don't know the reason she died!! You are all done for!! I'm gonna sue this d*mn hospital!!"

Zane was fuming. He could not stop barking at the doctor who was already drenched in his own sweat. They all knew how the man was and they very well knew that they were all in trouble even before he was told. And just right at that very moment, a nurse barged into the doctor's office. It was one of the nurses that was cleaning Sofia up.

"Doctor!! Doctor!! Doctor!! Oh my world!! Oh Lord!! F**king hell!! This is unbelievable!!"

"Are you ok, nurse Mia?!! Why did you barge in here like that?!!"

"Doctor! The...! His...his...I mean...umm...she...the madam is awake!!"

Right there in the doctor's office, the men could not really understand what the nurse was talking about or rather, they chose not to. The doctor stared at the nurse and said to her...

"Nurse Mia? What are you talking about?!"

"Doctor! It's... it's...um...the madam that died during... childbirth! She... she's awake doctor...!"

Nurse Mia could not stop shaking. Meanwhile, Zane had already informed his in-laws about it. They wanted to chew him raw, right through the phone. They always thought that it was bad luck to have such a man in their family, except for the fact that he increased their wealth daily, of course!

The two men right there could not believe what they just heard and they immediately dashed out of the office and straight into the delivery room but Zane could not enter because he was stopped by his in-laws. They did not waste time attacking the man.

"You ungrateful human!! What did you do to my daughter, huh?!"

"I told you not to get married to Sofia but you refused!! You did not only get married to her but you also got her pregnant, and now, just look at the result! You are evil!!"

The parents took turns attacking the man. They did not even let him leave.

"...oh my baby girl! How on earth am I going to live without you! Wuuu..."

Sofia's mother began to weep. Right there, the doctor came out and announced the good news to them.

"You mean...she is really alive, doctor?!"

"Yes ma'am"

After a while, Sofia was transferred to a VVIP room. She was already cleaned up and was putting on a hospital gown. The whole family went into the room to meet her but something bigger happened!

"Don't touch me, please...! Who are you people and...and why am I here, in a hospital?"

"I said don't touch me!! I don't like people touching me!"

They all looked at the doctor at the same time, waiting for an explanation. Zane shook off the shock and walked closer to Sofia and touched her cheek lovingly and said to her.

"Honey? It's me Zane, don't you remember me, hm?"

"You get away from my daughter and let me talk to her!"

Mrs. Connor quickly sat beside Sofia on the bed and pushed Zane's hand from Sofia's body. But the minute her hands touched Sofia's hands, Sofia jerked and then she shifted backwards and stared at the people in the room. She started shaking.

"Sofia baby...! It's mom and that's dad! We are your parents, my love!"

Their daughter Sofia, well "so they thought" could not believe it. She could not believe what she was hearing and right there, she started laughing. They were all very confused. She only stopped laughing, after feeling pains in between her thighs.

"Hahaha...! Tssss!"

"Please Sofia, take it easy. You are not very strong now!"

"Please, stop...mnn...stop calling me that! I...mnn... I'm not!!"

"What's this excruciating pain I'm feeling down there? I don't understand!" She mumbled.

She subconsciously touched her lower body and could not stop moaning softly. The pain was very new to her.

"Sofia love? How can you say that? We are your family and since when do you use such an accent? This is new!"

Mr. Connor said to their daughter. He was not happy. Zane just stood there and asked the doctor what was happening. The doctor himself was even more confused than them. There was absolutely nothing wrong with her. They were all very confused.

"What is happening to her doctor?!"

"Sir, I've run all the tests on your wife. Everything is good, sir. The only thing there is just the pains she will feel because of the delivery. I really do not understand myself, sir"

"Is there anything you understand?!"

Zane could not stop glaring at the doctor. He could not understand what was really going on. He walked closer to his wife and held her hand. For some strange reason, she did not refuse Zane, every time he touched her. He looked straight in her eyes and said softly.

"Honey...? We are your family, yeah? We love you so much. We need you to come back to us, hm?"

Sofia looked at the fine young man in front of her and was surprised how they could call her their daughter. He looked at the people once more and said to them...

"I...I am very sorry but I'm not your daughter, sofia. My name is Meilin Fan and I am Chinese!"

"......."

There was a pin drop silence and that scared her even more.

"Please, take me home. I want to go to my grandfather. He...is...all alone in the house...!"

"Honey? What are you even saying right now? The doctor said you are very much ok! What other house are you talking about? And how did you even travel down to China? You've never been there before!"

Zane could not believe his luck.

"You are pure American honey, not Chinese!"

"Your husband is right, my baby girl. You are not Chinese. Your name is Connor Sofia and we are your parents!"

"No I'm not!! How can that be?!! I...I...was just...*sniffs*...walking down my street to get my grandfather his drugs when I started feeling a strange headache and... right there, my eyes were shut, I couldn't... *sniff* control it. When I opened my eyes again, I found...myself right on this bed...!"

"Please, I...I want to go back home...!"
