"Naylani" I heard Jason call me.

I did not answer him simply because I was upset at his actions. He did not come to my room yesterday to wish me goodnight like every other day. Hence, I folded my arms and tapped my foot against the floor waiting for him to show up so I can ignore him more.

"Lani" he called me by my nickname.

He came in the kitchen running towards me. I continued tapping my foot and pouting.

"Lani, are you fine?" he asked.

I just looked around and decided to look for ice-cream in the freezer.

"Lani, why are you not talking to me? Lani please say something, please, Lani" he begged.

Jason was about to cry, so I ran to him and hugged him.

"Jay Jay, you did not come to wish me goodnight yesterday. I was mad at you." I said.

"I'm sorry, Lani.", he said.

He went to the freezer where I was before and took out the ice-cream as he already knows that it is my favourite thing to eat.

Well, Jason and I were born in the same year the only difference is we are a month apart. I was born in July and him in June.

We are now 6 years old and happy best friends.

Jason protects me every day especially when I have nightmares, he comes to my room and covers me with his blankie then proceeds to kiss my cheek and rub my back to make it better.

Jason took out two bowls and spoons. He scooped the ice-cream into the bowls. I ran to the pantry to get some sprinkles because I love them, even Jay Jay does.

I went back running to Jay and I almost fell but he balanced me preventing me from falling.

"You are my hero Jay Jay! " I exclaimed.

"I will always save you Lani." he said.

Jay Jay was taller than me, so he didn't have to climb the kitchen stool to reach the ice-cream bowls. I climbed onto the kitchen stool and added the sprinkles. I added more sprinkles to my ice-cream than his.

"Lani!" he whined.

I just gave him a mischievous look and added a cherry on top for the both of us.

We went to the playroom and sat down on the couch.

"Lani, what movie to you want to watch." he asked.

"Cinderella!" I said excitedly.

"Again, Lani?" he asked.

"Yes Jay, because I'm Cinderella and you're my Prince." I said.

Jay put in the movie and we watched it until his mother, Luna Elise, called him.

We went to the dining hall and saw Alpha and Luna standing with their bags.

"Jason, we have to visit a pack and you're coming with us for a week." Alpha said to Jay.

"Do I have to dad? But what about Lani?"

"Lani will be here waiting for you to come back, right Lani?" Alpha asked.

"Yes, Alpha Jackson."

Jay came to me and hugged me, and I quickly gave him a kissy on the cheek and then we both giggled.

"Bye Jay Jay. See you" I said.

I will miss you

Jason's POV

I miss Lani so much and the fun that we have whenever we play together, eating ice-cream in the morning with sprinkles and cherries. I miss going to our secret spot and protecting her from nightmares.

Lani keeps dreaming about a black Wolf with a tint of light brown on the right eye. My father and Lani's father, the Beta assume it has something to do with her future considering that no one in the pack fits the description of the wolf.

Naylani POV

I shot up breathing fast with sweat dripping down my forehead.

"Jay!" I called out.

Oh no- Jay Jay is not here. I screamed out for my mother holding onto my teddy bear that Jason gifted me for my 5th birthday when the nightmares began.

My mom came rushing in my room with a glass of water. The wiped my forehead with a cloth and whispered soothing words.

I went down on my knees and prayed to God. My mom always taught me that prayer is important.

One Week Later

Daddy told me that Jay, Alpha and Luna are coming back today before midday. My momma and I were in the kitchen with the Omegas' preparing a feast - heard it from momma.

Momma and I were baking a chocolate cake with sprinkles and cherries on top because both Jay Jay and I are very fond of sweet food.

After decorating the cake. I went to my room and picked out a pink dress with sandals. I wore my clothes and shoes and looked in the mirror and saw how bouncy my curls were today. Oh well, Jay likes playing with my curls. After getting ready I decided to take a nap to have energy to celebrate Jason's return. He was gone for a week, which does not seem much, but when you ae used to being with your best friend every day you end up being miserable due to missing them.

I went outside and waited for Jay, Alpha and Luna with momma and daddy. I had the cake in my hand. I was so excited to see them

20 minutes later

Daddy you said they will be here before midday. It is now late.

"Wait a little longer daddy's princess.", my dad said.

" Okay daddy.", I said.

45 minutes later

"Daddy I'm tired. I'll be back soon."

I went to Jay Jay's and I secret spot by the cave. The is a waterfall near the cave we sit in.

I went towards the river flowing and sat down. I threw stones in the river as I missed Jay Jay.

I stopped throwing stones and I started to fall asleep. I thought of lying here down for a few minutes of a nap.

I heard a stone being thrown in the river and I screamed, I turned around and saw it was Jay.

"Jay Jay!", I squealed.

"Lani, I missed you.", he said.

I gave him a kiss on the cheek and we both giggled, and he kissed my forehead.

"Jay! I made cake with momma. Do you want to have some?", I asked him.

He nodded. With no hesitation I grabbed his hand in mine and we went to the kitchen.

I took out slices of the cake and put it on one plate. Jay poured juice in our favourite glass and put in two straws in it. We went to the garden tables and ate.

" Jay, do you like it? ", I asked.

"yes, I do Lani.", he replied.

"Lani, can I play with your hair. Please Lani.", Jay asked.

"Yes, pwease Jay. I want to take a nap. Make me sleep pwease Jay Jay.", I said.

"I will Lani.", he said.

Jay played with my hair and I fell asleep right then and there.

I missed you Lani, you, and your hair.

9 Years Later (June)

I tiptoed to Jay's room with balloons, a present and a cupcake.

"Happy birthday Jay Jay! Happy birthday Jay, happy birthday my Prince. Happy birthday soon-to-be alpha!", I sang.

"Lani, come here.", Jay said while opening his arms.

I put everything on his nightstand and hugged him. I kissed him on his cheek. I gave him the cupcake and present.

He ate the cupcake in split seconds.

"How does it feel to be 15 Jay Jay?", I asked.

His smile dropped and he frowned. He took my hand and gestured me to stand up. I stood up and he led me to the other side of the room where all the albums are.

We sat on the couch and he took out our childhood album.

"Lani, you're my princess, my best friend and you're the apple of my eye.", he said.

I smiled and hugged him.

He opened the album and I immediately fell ecstatic.

"Jay Jay! When we were one.", I said pointing at a picture our parents took at my 1st Birthday celebration.

He chuckled and kissed my forehead. A trait from childhood he does when he is happy.

We continued to go through the album. We shed two or three tears. Okay, a lot.

"Lani, I'm going to miss you, I really am. But I must go to Alpha Training School. I will surely come back after year. I know I am going to miss your fifteenth birthday. So that's the reason why I bought you an early birthday gift.", he said.

He jogged to his lower drawer and he shuffled through it.

"uh-huh, found it. ", he said.

"Lani, here princess, or should I say my Cinderella?", Jay said handing me a black box.

"What's in here Jay?", I asked him.

"Open it Lani", he said happily.

I opened the box and there before my eyes was a shiny bracelet.

" Oh, my goodness, Jay it's beautiful. ", I said jumping.

"Analyze it Lani.", he said.

I looked at the bracelet properly and it was written Love Your Prince -JJ

I could not hold the tears anymore.I felt my right cheek getting stained then my left.

He held me and I sobbed on him.

"Jay, I will miss you.", I said wiping my tears.

He hugged me once more.

"Jay, it's good that when you return, you'll find your mate. And you'll be happy once more.", I told him.

"Lani, I wish you-", he said getting interrupted.

"Jason, honey, your driver is here.", Luna told Jay.

"Aww Naylani, I know you're going to miss your best friend. I know it's hard, but you have to let him do what's his supposed to. You and I will surely console each other. Jason, come everyone's waiting to bid you goodbye.", Luna said sadly.

I took his two duffel bags and he took the rest of his bags and we went outside to the SUV and we put everything in the trunk.

Alpha Jackson hugged his son, how sweet.

Luna Elise hugged her son dearly.

He went to hug my dad, the beta, and my mom.

He stopped in front of me and he did not hesitate to hug for dear life. I shed a few tears and when I looked up, I saw that his eyes had tears.

Jay looked into my eyes and kissed my forehead. He played with my hair and chuckled.

"I'm going to miss you Lani, you and your hair.", he said genuinely.

He got into the SUV and went off.

We all waved; me, his parents, my parents, and the whole pack.
