Chapter one

Leila's POV

My name is Leila Wayne. I am the only daughter of my family. I have an elder brother, Kenny, all he does was to prank and tease me. I hope he finds his mate soon enough to let me be. My father is the beta of our pack. Oops! I forgot the most interesting thing. I am a werewolf. Most humans are oblivious of our presence. Some only think that we only existed in folktales, but the truth was that, we, werewolves actually exists. It's really funny and annoying to read the books human writers publish about us. They're mostly based on their fantasy only a few of them are good enough to write the truth about us.

"Wakey wakey, sleepy head". My idiotic brother pouredva bucket of dirty water on me. He knew how much I hated death on my skin. I wanted my skin to remain perfect but that idiot did not care.

"Oh my gosh, Kenny! I wasn't even asleep and you know it". I screamed angrily at him but all he did was to smile widely at me, showing me his stupid dimples.

"What were you doing then? I just hope you weren't daydreaming about that stupid asshole of a boyfriend because you must be stupid if you were".

"You can't say that. Damian is my boyfriend and he is in love with me and I am going to be mated to him on my eighteen birthday. Get that into your dumb skull". I snapped at him. Why don't they all get it? I and Damian are heavenly mates. He was born to be Alpha and I was sure that I was born to be a Luna. Even my mother confirmed it so I don't get why they are all against out relationship. We even have the most perfect ship name, Daila.

"Keep on dreaming kiddo. I hope when you wake up, you will still be able to live". He snorted. I angrily threw my pillow at him but the jerk dodged it. Yeah it was one of a werewolf's ability. We were fast. Kenny was almost eighteen, so he had pretty much discovered most of his abilities and he was extremely proud of it. He first discovered them at his sixteenth birthday. I knew that as the future Luna of the pack, mine would be greater than his. It would be greater than anybody in the pack.

"Are you two fighting again?". It was my father's voice. He was back from his beta work. I don't know what he does as the beta but that's none of my business, I was going to be Luna.

"Nope it's just that Leila here was daydreaming about her crazy relationship as usual". My brother accused immediately. I expected my father to side with me and shut him up but he disappointed me , as usual. He looked at me sadly and he said those annoying words;

"Leila, I've told you times without number, you are only diminishing your dignity and value in that relationship..." I didn't allow him finish his sentence because I felt that I was almost exploding, I stormed out of the room angrily. I was tired of them being disappointed in me. Why can't they be happy for me? I just can't wait to be eighteen years then I will leave them once and for all after my Alpha mate me. Yeah that was the plan.

"Hey baby girl, why the long face?". Damian asked worriedly as he stared so hard at me. See, I told you all, my mate was super nice and caring. He totally loved me.

"Nothing just my parents being annoying as usual". I stood on my toes to peck him. He grabbed me and deepened the kids. Totally not what I wanted but I was not complaining. My mate was the best kisser. He kissed all my anger away and left me breathless. He chuckled removing a strand of hair from my face as he watched me catch my breath.

"We should get going now unless you don't want to go to school today". He said and winked at me. I blushed so hard . I totally understood what he meant. He grabbed my hand and lead me to his ride. As I entered into the already opened door, I looked at my house to see my mother shaking her head disappointedly at me. I knew what she was thinking but what the hell does she claims to know? With anger, I banged the door so hard, Damian turned to look at me questionably, but when he saw where my gaze was directed at, he shook his head and rubbed my shoulders to calm me down. See what I told you? He was understanding.

"Start moving". He informed the driver and immediately the car was brought to life. Then he turned to my side and pinched my nose.

"You look so mad right now and it's turning me on. I want nothing but to rip your clothes off that gorgeous body but if I do, we might end up not making it to school". I bent my head down as I blushed so hard.

"You know we can do that if it's what you want besides, you're the next alpha and nobody will question your absence and I am the beta's daughter". I suggested. His words had turned me on and I wanted nothing but to get that beast of his in between my legs, where they belonged. He shooked his head smiling widely.

"Nah, princess. Even though I am the next alpha, my parents still wants me to complete my studies and besides don't you have a test today?". I groaned and he chuckled. He knew the effect that he had on me. I smiled and he raised an eyebrow at me.

" No princess, I know what you're thinking but if I start, I'm afraid I won't be able to stop". He smiled again while I groaned frustratingly. He started this and now he was torturing me. I sulked and turned away from him, pretending to be angry but that action made him laugh loud. He tried to bring up conversations as we drove to school but I turned deaf ear. I was only thinking of how to ease the ache between my legs and his sexy voice wasn't helping matters. I rubbed my legs together in annoyance.

Immediately we got to school, I stepped down from the car without waiting for him, but he was fast, he grabbed me by my waist, and kissed me so hard.

"Ace that test today and I will reward you". He whispered through the kiss. I moaned into his mouth in response. He had succeeded in making me flood my panties. He chuckled hard as he stepped a foot away from me. He stared at me for a minute, then he pecked my forehead and turned to go into his class. I caught few girls eye raping him. Yeah my mate was drop dead gorgeous. 'Stare all you want bitches but that body was mine and mine alone'.

~How is she supposed to protect a whole pack of Lycans when she can't even protect herself from bugs~

~I have only heard of how he kills people without thinking twice, with no remorse of any kind. Perhaps that's the reason he doesn't have a mate. The moon goddess wouldn't want to suffer any one. Stupid heartless Lycan King~

Leila's POV

I breathed deeply as I stepped into my class. Time to be serious.

"Miss Wayne, you're late again". Mr Rogers complained. I ignored him and continued my journey to my seat. There was nothing he could do to me. I was the beta's daughter and he was just a teacher.

"If you come late again to my class, I'm afraid I will have to report you to your father". I mentally rolled my eyes. That was the only thing they all had against me. I turned to him in a mock salute making most of the students laugh.

"I'm so sorry Mr Rogers, I promised to be well behaved from now on". I apologized. He nodded at me and continued his lecture. I walked to my seat quietly.

"Pack whore". Someone mummured beside me. I turned to look at the owner of the voice. It was Cassidy, the daughter of Alpha Xarold. She always hated me from the very first day she set her eyes on me. As much as I wanted to grab her short hair and rip it off her shapeless skull, I refrained myself from doing so. I respected her mother so much, the Luna of Winter fortress besides her father Alpha Xarold was a troublesome Alpha. He had been looking for a reason to go to war with our pack. I wouldn't want to be the reason that the already strained relationship between the two powerful pack would break. I rolled my eyes at her. Everyone knew she always had a crush on Damian and when he chose to date me instead, her anger towards me intensified.

"You were with Damian weren't you?". Ellie whispered with a smug on her face.

"Of course she was, didn't you see that her lipstick is half way cleaned and her makeup looks so rough. I'm sure she made out intensely with Damian ". Lily whispered smiling. They both giggled causing a few eyes to turn to us. Oh I didn't realize I had the make out look on my face no wonder Cassidy looked as if she wanted to tear me apart. I smiled and wiped my face with the handkerchief Ellie gave me.

"If you girls don't keep quiet, I'm afraid I will be forced to ask you to see the principal ". Mr Rogers shouted at us. Lilly mummured an apology, Ellie just rolled her eyes. I didn't understand her hatred towards Me Rogers. Sure, we all hated him but Ellie despised him. I wonder why.

Ellie and Lilly had both been my best friends since third grade. We shared everything together. They were the only ones who always had my back. Our friendship was one of the many things that Cassidy envied about me. She hated the fact that she couldn't control my best friends. She tried creating hers but they just looked like her minions. Always dressing like her in an inferior way and striving to always please her.

"We should plan for our eighteenth birthday. I want it to be massive". Lilly said dreamily. It was lunch time already and we were at the cafeteria.

"What's the haste, I mean it's like eleven months away". Ellie countered.

"Nope, it is eleven months, twenty four days. And what if it's far, I just want it to be perfect, the best in the history of our pack".

"Yeah, Ellie is so right. I think we should start planning for it. I really want it to be massive. I just can't wait to see the look of defeat on Cassidy's smug face, that will be like the biggest comeback ever".

"You both are weird. I don't care if it's big or not, I just want to find my mate so that I can get away from that hellhole of a house ". Ellie shrugged her shoulders. We understood her pain even though she tries so much to hide it under the mask of being a strong woman. Her mother had died with her brother while trying to bring him into the world. Her father, in quest of a son, had mated another woman. Second chance mate were rare. The woman turned out to be a total bitch to Ellie. She always hit Ellie for any single mistake. We do pray for the woman to meet her fated mate everyday but I think the moon goddess had another plan. She just gave birth to another pup and that means, more hatred for Ellie. She hated Ellie because she looked like her mother. She and Ellie's mother were twin sisters. She had an open crush on Ellie's father but on their eighteenth birthday, he was mated to Ellie's mother instead. That was her grievance towards her sister. I wonder why Ellie's father took her as his second mate when he was aware that the woman hated his real mate. I mean it was obvious to everyone. Maybe, she bewitched him. It was even rumored that she rejected her mate when she found out that Ellie's father was going to marry her. How horrible. I just pray that Ellie should be mated to a powerful man maybe like a warrior who would save her from the claws of her evil step-mother.

"We should invite the whole pack". Lilly suggested. I was so into that idea, I wanted to prove everybody wrong. That was the only goal I wanted to achieve at my eighteenth birthday.

"Yeah and perhaps we might also invite other packs like the winter fortress". I suggested.

"I know what you're driving at Lei, you might want to keep your expectations low. Bad things happen all the time". Ellie said munching her chips. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Why are you so negative?".

"Nah, I'm not, I'm just being truthful. Bad things always happens to those who are too expectant of good things. It's an old saying ". She said nonchalantly.

"There's no such saying as that you're just so negative ". Lilly argued.

"Guys stop arguing besides everything will be made clear on our eighteenth birthday ".

Chapter Three

~Even her name sounds dumb just like her. I sniffed hard but I couldn't get her wolf's scent. She was even wolf less. The moon goddess must think that I am nothing but a joke to her~

~He is the strongest Lycan King ever known. Perhaps that was the reason many ladies wanted to be mated to him. He could even wipe a whole pack without blinking. He is only but heartless~

Leila's POV

Why don't they all get it? Mum said she had felt the spark in her fingers when she first met dad. That was the first indication that they were made for each other. I am sure I had felt that spark when I first met Damian. Even if I was young.

"Can we do a sleepover? I need to pass Miss Christy's test or I might not graduate with you guys". Lilly whined.

"Why can't you study alone? Each time you have a test, we have to do a sleepover for you". Ellie complained rolling her eyes.

"It's not my fault that I don't have a photographic brain like you two". Lilly argued. Ellie was ready to reply her but I had to step in. I didn't want them to start dragging each other's hair again. Though it was funny to watch them both fight but, it was also annoying. Ellie would always end up cutting a part of Lilly's hair with the pair of scissors she always carried, I wonder why.

"Fine, we can have a sleepover over at my place. I just have to ask my mother for permission". Immediately those words left my mouth, Lilly stuck her tongue out in victory towards Ellie.

"But, Lilly, you have to promise us that you won't fall asleep or try to cajole us into watching a movie". I quickly added before Ellie would be tempted to disfigure Lilly's face. She was always ready for action. The only reason Ellie wasn't training as one of the pack's soldiers was because of her step-mother. She probably didn't want Ellie to become a pack soldier with the fear of being beaten up by Ellie, but what she didn't know was that, if Ellie wanted to, she could beat her up without any sweat. Ellie was born to be a fighter. The only reason Ellie was holding back was because she was her mother's twin. It sounded weird but Ellie says she sometimes see her mother in her step-mother which I tell you is the weirdest thing I have heard in my entire existence.

"Yeah I promise, pinky promise swear". Lilly shouted raising her pinky finger up.

"Will your brother be around?". Ellie suddenly asked making I and Lilly turn to her.

"Of course he would why do you ask?". I could swear that I saw Ellie smile but it disappeared as soon as it appeared. Since when did she care if my crazy brother was around or not. We all hated him. He was just a pain in the ass.

"Nothing, I just felt like". Ellie shrugged. It better not be what I'm thinking. Lilly exchanged looks with me. We couldn't communicate through mind links since we were not officially connected to the pack. Mind link was like chatting to someone or people through minds. It was usually activated when a werewolf had shifted for the first time. I don't know how it happens but I guess I will find out few months from now.

"I will bring the snacks. My mother is the best cook in the pack". Lilly announced, we all agreed.

"And we should also use that time to plan for our birthday party".

"Hey ladies ". Someone said kissing my head. I knew immediately who it was. He sat down beside me making Ellie roll her eyes at me. She hated him since we were young and her hatred for him intensified when he asked me out. It was nothing to think about, Evie probably hated more than half of the pack members. That's just her.

"Hi Damian! We were actually talking about our birthday party. Why don't we all celebrate it together. You know since it will also be your first shift ". Lilly said as she winked at me. I knew what she was thinking. I tried to hide my blush but I didn't do a good job at it.

"Sure no problem. You just have to send me the budget. I will take care of everything". He said sweetly.

"We are so grateful Mr. Alpha but we are not handicapped. Just because we asked you to celebrate with us does not mean we gave you the permission to become our father". Ellie said with hate dripping with every word. She never tried to hide her hatred for anybody.

"I think what Ellie was trying to say was that, we are extremely grateful for your kind gestures but we can manage ". Lilly said before I could open my mouth. I looked at her gratefully.

"No it's no problem I can comfortably handle everything and take care of everybody. It's one of the pack Alpha's duty, my father always tells me". Damian replied calmly.

"Yeah, you can comfortably take care everybody, it's just a duty". Ellie replied harshly. It was just as if the hatred she has towards Damian grew day by day. Before any of us could say anything, Damian was called up by one of his friends. He kissed my cheeks and excused himself from us. It was an awkward moment.

"What was the meaning of that?". I asked Ellie angrily, immediately Damian was out of sight.

"Meaning of what? I was just airing my views and there is no law against that". She answered nonchalantly, sipping her drink.

"But that doesn't mean you should disrespect him. Damian is my boyfriend and also your future Alpha. I know you don't like him but could you try behaving like a normal person for me? It's that too much to ask?"

"You just can't see it, can you? You are just being dumb and foolishly stupid. I just hope when you wake up from your daydream, you will still be able to live with your crazy choice". She said angrily stomping out of lunch. This was the second time she was this furious with me. The first time was when I mentioned that I had given my virginity to Damian.

I had least expected her to do this. She was just jealous of me , just like Cassidy and the rest. I was going to be Luna and there was nothing she was going to be. She didn't even have a boyfriend and I had the hottest guy in the pack. That was her bitterness. I scoffed and drank my milkshake.
