In the big mansion of the Alpha of the Shadow Moon pack. The house was as quiet as it has always been. Some maids could be seen walking in and out as they cleaned in a hurry. They all know what could happen to them if Alpha Aiden meets them there.
They were only allowed to clean the house at their scheduled time before going back to their quarters. And no matter what happens or whatever noise is heard from the main house, no one must interfere or enter the house except the person who wants death. Rumor has it that the alpha sleepwalks at night, which makes him not want anyone to stay with him in the main house.
In the hallway upstairs, a maid could be seen mopping the floor. She packed her brown hair into a tight bun. She looked messy, with the sweat building up all over her body. Suddenly, a loud ringtone disrupted the quiet hallway. She quickly took the phone from her pocket and put it in silence mode before looking around her to check if anyone was coming.
"Good of you, Amelia. You picked up my call on time today." She heard the voice say over the phone, followed by a laugh, but she just sighed as she kept looking around to see if anyone was coming, because she knew the consequences as they weren't allowed to use phones in the house. "Send me money. I will be expecting it."
"I'll send it tomorrow. I'll collect my pay tomorrow; please just wait." Amelia begged. She knew he would surely call her for money, since it was already the end of the month. She has been working as a maid since she was eighteen, four years ago. Apart from being a wolfless omega, her life has been so difficult ever since her mother died, and her father blamed her for her mother's death. Not that she knew who her mother was because she died when she was a baby, but she only heard from her father and had seen pictures of her.
And ever since then, she has had to work for her family. Not that she was also happy working and giving her father the money, but she didn't have anyone or anywhere to go. He's the only one for her in the world, even though he's also the worst.
"Just make sure you send it tomorrow, or you won't like what I'll do to you." She heard, followed by the hang-up sound. She sighed again as she thought about giving him and her stepmother the money she had worked for again. Tears were almost running out of her eyes as she thought of her miserable life, forgetting where she was.
She was just a wolfless Omega who still wished to go to college and become successful, even though she knew it wasn't possible because of her status in the pack. The money she makes from side jobs, her father still collects from her. She was still thinking about her life when she heard a voice call her name from behind.
She quickly turned around to face the person, but due to fear, the phone in her hand dropped. But it didn't drop to the ground; it fell into the big flower pot that was close to her. "What are you doing here? The housekeeper asked us to come together for a meeting downstairs." The maid said, looking at her suspiciously.
Amelia also noticed this, and she knew that the maid might have thought that she had stolen something, given that she was just a part-time cleaner. Without bothering to search for her phone, she left the mop and left the hallway with the maid.

She was assigned another job downstairs by the housekeeper, and she couldn't get the chance to go back upstairs to get her phone. By the time they all finished their jobs, it was already late, and it was the right time to leave the main house. Also, she didn't remember leaving her phone upstairs.
They all went back to their quarters, ate their food, and went to their respective beds. Amelia, who was also packing her bags as she would leave for her house the next day, collapsed on the bed. She was so tired that the only thing on her mind was to go to sleep. But as she closed her eyes, she suddenly opened them back. She sat up immediately. "My phone. Oh my goodness! I didn't take my phone from the house." She whispered with her eyes widening.
"How could you forget your phone, Amelia?" She hit her forehead lightly. She sighed as she lied back on the bed, but raised up again. She wasn't allowed to go into the mansion at night, nor could she forsake her phone until next week, when she would come back. She had a feeling that something would have happened to her phone by then, and she was the only one who knew what she faced before getting the phone.
When she couldn't take it any longer, she sneaked out of the room quietly and walked out of the quarters. She was so careful as she watched for the guard monitoring the building. It took almost an hour before she could get into the mansion, and to her surprise, it was so quiet and dark that it gave her chills as she stepped inside.
At that point, she regretted not taking a torch with her. She was not expecting to find a dark room, but still, she couldn't go back after what she went through before entering the house. "I think I should find the switch first." She whispered to herself, not thinking that someone might be in the room.
She didn't see or know where she was going, but she just kept trying to feel things with her hands as she moved, but suddenly she felt something like a hand grabbing her by the arm. She became alerted immediately and wanted to scream, but couldn't. She knew she was caught. "I'm..." Before she could complete her words, she heard a masculine voice.
"Mate." She heard him say, but she couldn't move. She was shocked that she couldn't push him away, but when she felt his other hand on her cheeks and heard him say. "You came back."
His hand slowly went behind her neck, but before he could pull her closer, Amelia finally screamed and pushed him away, making him fall to the ground before she ran out without looking back.
The next morning. The whole house was clean and bright, with the rays of sunlight shinning through the windows. The house was so big and beautiful, covered in white and beautiful furniture.
The living room was so big, with a large couch and pillows, but in the middle of the room lied a man. He was sleeping on the floor, with his back on the ground, his hands spread on the floor, and one of his legs on the couch, as if he had no life in him.
Suddenly, his leg that was on the couch moved slightly before he put it down and moved in his sleep. After some minutes, he opened his captivating dark eyes slowly. Even with the way he looked rough and reeked of alcohol, he still looked handsome. Thin lips, a strong jaw, and beautiful black hair. He was just too handsome, even in his state. He sat up, but was hit with a terrible headache.
Ah! He exclaimed with his hands on his head as he pulled himself up in struggle. He kept running his hands into his hair as he walked towards the stairs, but before he could take the first step up the stairs, he suddenly felt something strange.
He looked back at the sitting room, from the couch to the floor. He wasn't the type to sleep on the floor after getting drunk, but it was strange that he found himself on the floor. He kept looking at the couch, rubbing his forehead, until he finally remembered something. "Mate?" He said to himself before scoffing. "That's impossible."
"Eric!" He called out in anger, and at that second, a man quickly walked in as if he had been waiting for him at the entrance of the house.
"Who came into the house last night?" He asked with fury, but the man looked up at him with surprise. "No one came into the house, Alpha."
"Are you telling me I'm lying?" He asked again, but was hit with a more terrible bang in his head because of how he was raising his voice. He winced, but still, he didn't care. He walked closer to Eric and held him by the collar. He was sure someone entered the house, and he knew it was a woman.
"No sir. Please forgive me." The man begged before he finally let go of his collar. "Get every worker here now. No one leaves the compound." He commanded before the man left.
He sat on the couch with his legs crossed. He was so angry that he didn't even go upstairs to change his clothes, which smelled of alcohol. He didn't know what was going on, but he didn't want to jump to the conclusion that his wolf called someone a mate last night. "It can't be. She can't be the one." He thought, rubbing his hands together nervously.
Soon after, the door opened, and Eric walked in. "They're all outside Alpha." Without bothering to say anything to him, he stood up and went outside.
As soon as he stepped outside, he didn't have to say anything or look further before he sought a frail creature among the employees. "Mate." His wolf called.
He moved a few steps forward. The other maids, who also saw where his eyes were, quickly moved away, giving him a way to see the girl, who was hiding behind them. They felt that something was wrong, but none of them could say a word.

Amelia was ready to go home. She had already been given her pay and was free to go, but she couldn't because of her phone. She had been so restless since she woke up that morning. She didn't even know who she met yesterday, nor did she see the face because of how dark it was. She wished she had her wolf, which could have helped her see in the dark, but at that point she didn't want to think about that.
She just hoped it would be time for the maids to go clean the house so that she could come clean to the housekeeper about her phone. But not too long later, a knock came from the door, and the housekeeper went ahead to open the door.
"Good morning, Eric. What are you doing here early in the morning?" The housekeeper asked, but the man did not reply to her greetings. "Alpha Aiden requests to see everyone of you right now."
"Request to see us?" The woman asked, surprised. Even the other maids that were in the room having breakfast quickly stood up. "But why? Did something happen?" They knew the alpha didn't even know any of them except the housekeeper, who served his food and made his bed.
"I don't have time for this. We need to go now." Eric said, knowing that even a minute late could cause him death.
Amelia was so scared that she felt like her heart would explode. She has never seen the Alpha before, and she has heard stories of how wicked he was. He was the only ruthless one among his brothers. And his requesting to see them all of a sudden made her remember last night and feel terrified.
She quickly walked towards the housekeeper. "I should get going." She said, forgetting how she was planning to get her phone, but before she could move an inch, "No one leaves until you all meet the Alpha. And also, wasting more time means trouble." Hearing this from the man, Amelia knew she was in deep trouble.
The other maids were also scared, but they all accepted their fate and followed the man. They stood in front of the big building and watched as the man went in to call the Alpha. "Maybe if I beg him, he will spare my life." She thought, but her mind drifted to how she had pushed him, which made her accept that there was no way to get out of the trouble she had brought on herself. She had seen the alpha sleepwalk, and there was no way for forgiveness.
She was already fidgeting as they all stood together outside, but she made sure she was standing behind them. Suddenly the door opened, and everywhere suddenly became silent. She didn't even look up, but what surprised her was that the person standing in front of her quickly moved away, and a man was walking closer to her. She looked up slowly, and her heartbeat became even louder, sweat running out of her whole body as she kept looking at the man, who was standing in front of her with an emotion that could be described as rage.
She didn't know what he was thinking, but she just knew he was looking at her with so much hatred.
"This must be a joke. The moon goddess must be playing tricks on me." Aiden whispered as he kept looking at the girl. He didn't even know what to do or say to her. Turning to Eric, he said. "Lock her up in a room." And at that same instant, he walked back into the house.
Amelia thought she heard wrong. She looked at the man who had signaled some men to drag her. "No. Please, please forgive me. Someone help me." She kept screaming as she was being dragged away.
Even the maids were surprised at the incident that just unfolded. They could not explain what had happened, nor could they help the lady, who was being dragged away. They all quickly left the scene.
He took his bath and went to work, but still he couldn't stop thinking about how his wolf could call another woman a mate.
He had to cancel all his meetings because he couldn't concentrate. This is the first time such has happened to him in months. "Shit!" He closed his laptop frustratingly and took out his phone to make a call. "Eric, I need every detail about that girl this night. Even the little ones." He said this before hanging up.
The day kept becoming shorter for him as each minute passed by. He couldn't even get any work done until work was finally over for the day.
It was already late when he came back home. Almost midnight. Something that has never happened before. Even when he gets drunk in the club, he comes back home early and continues with his drinking.
He walked into the house. "Good evening, sir." Eric greeted. Eric was his assistant at work, and he had some things to attend to on that day, so he couldn't follow Aiden to work.
Without replying to his greetings, he asked, "Where is it?"
"Here is it, sir." Eric, the assistant, replied, stretching a file to him, which he also collected and opened. He went through it for a few minutes before looking up at the guy standing before him. "She's an Omega?"
Aiden was not surprised to hear that she was an omega, but being a wolfless one made him shocked and angry. He was still checking the file when Eric said, "I also found a phone. And I believe it belongs to her."
He collected the phone and looked at it before turning back to Eric. "You can go."
Eric also bowed his head. "Good night, sir." Before leaving the room.
He didn't bother going to bed because he knew he wouldn't sleep. He walked into a large room filled with shelves of books and a small mini-parlor opposite a big table arranged neatly. All giving him the best study and the perfect place to get his thinking together. Dropping the file and phone on the table, he sat down on the chair behind the table and went through the file for some minutes before dropping it. "A wolfless Omega." He called out so many times.
He sighed as he rested his back on the chair. "There must be something wrong somewhere," he said, holding his head so tightly as if he were in pain. How could he have another mate? "The moon goddess must be joking." He knew that thinking more about the matter would definitely not make him sleep that night, but he couldn't help it. He opened the drawer beside the table and took out a bottle filled with sleeping pills. He opened the bottle and took some of it before standing up to leave for his room, but stopped because of the loud ringtone coming from the small phone.
He looked back at the table. "Dad," he said, looking at the caller ID, before shutting down the phone.
He went to his room, but, as expected, he couldn't sleep. He found himself tossing around the whole night, despite adding to the dose of the pills he took.

In an empty, small room with only a small window. Nothing could be found in the room except a girl who sat in a corner with her knees held in front of her. She was covering her face with her knees, making her hair fall on her knees and her back. Only the small sobs from her could be heard.
After some time, she raised her head slowly and felt a terrible headache. "Why is this happening to you, Amelia? What did I do so wrong?" She cried even more, rubbing her face with her hands. She had been in the room for hours, and she felt so hungry and weak, but none of that was her problem.
"What could she have done to deserve such a cruel punishment?" She asked herself as she thought of her father, who would have been calling her. She was supposed to have been at home, but she was trapped serving punishment. The fact that she didn't know what time it was but only saw that it was getting darker got her even more scared and baffled.
She kept thinking about the excuse to give her father about not sending the money on time, without even thinking whether she would leave the room alive, but suddenly she remembered something. "Mate." She cleaned her face and tried to remember what she heard. "No. That's not possible. I must have misheard." She kept saying it to herself. She didn't want to think that what she heard was true. There was no way the Alpha would call her mate.

The next morning, the rays of the sun reflected through the glass wall of the room, making the room brighter, and it could disrupt the sleep of the man lying on the bed. But his eyes were widely open. He couldn't get any sleep, making him have dark circles and red eyes. He stretched his hand towards the drawer close to his bed and took out his phone to dial a number. "Hello. I need to see you." He said, waiting for the person's reply before he said again. "Yes. I'll see you in an hour.
He rose from bed and walked into his bathroom. Even bathing became a problem; he couldn't stop thinking about the possibility of him having another mate, who happened to be an omega. "Should I just reject her?" He thought, but suddenly replied to himself. "No. The moon goddess has to know she made a mistake."
He finished bathing, dressed up in his suit, and walked down the stairs only to find his assistant waiting for him and the housekeeper in the dining room. "Your breakfast is ready, alpha." The woman said with a slight bow, but raised her head when she heard. "Feed that, Omega. If she dies, you'll pay for it."
He said before walking out of the room with his assistant. The housekeeper only stood in that same position. She was surprised to see the alpha acting that way after what he did to the girl. Without bothering to think more, she packed the food and went towards the old, small storeroom where the girl was being kept.
She took the keys and opened them, only to see the frail creature sleeping on the floor, looking so weak. She walked closer to her and dropped the tray of food on the floor. "Sit up and have some food." The woman commanded, but seeing that the girl wouldn't move, she sighed.
She would have left her alone, but for a reason, she wanted to know why the Alpha had locked her up. "It's your choice if you don't want to eat. But tell me. What did you do to the Alpha?" She knew that even breaking the rules couldn't warrant such punishment, but still, seeing that the girl wouldn't talk or even look at her, she scoffed. "Such rude behavior. I'm sure it's nothing important." She said before walking out of the room and closing the door after her.
