Author: : CKat
Genre: Fantasy
A story between a nine-tailed fox and a human who met with a tragic fate led by their descendants. From the very beginning of their story, they're already bound to meet and fulfill Kagome's curse at the right time. Amaya and Hiroshima are the victims. Kagome is the reason the entire fox tribe has been cursed to turn into a horrible beast every midnight and wild every full moon. But Amaya is the chosen one to break the curse since her body is where Kagome's spirit has been sleeping for a long time. Will they be able to escape their world and learn to love each other despite the fact that they are not the same creature?

Chapter 1 Kagome's Rage

ONCE upon a time, far from the land of the earth, nine-tailed foxes were born from the mountain, blessed by the forests, and lightened by the moon.

A legendary fox with nine tails isn't the only one that is created by the gods and goddesses. Werewolves were on it as well.

At first, they were made to be an animal alone. They were just a fox with nine tails, and a height compared to a bear. But Ruyanio, their world where they were originally bound to exist, was accidentally destroyed by an asteroid. The moon spirit made a way for them to still live peacefully, and they found earth.

After having to create different creatures on earth, a human was born from a tree.

Humans are made to be the food of all animals. Especially their liver and heart. It is to enhance the energy they kept on their stomach. It is most likely called 'fox bead'. But the thing is, humans have their guardians. Foxes and werewolves find it hard to intervene in the human world.

Werewolves gave up, foxes didn't. But not to bring troubles to the human realm, but to bring unity in the entire world.

Girl foxes are too powerful and intelligent, so all of the girls are the ones assigned to lead each pack.

And I'm one of those leaders. Yes, I belong to the creature called a nine-tailed fox.

"KAGOME! Come here, stop lecturing the kids and eat!" Mom called for me. I rolled my eyes and wiggle my tails. Sitting here feels like a second. I want to stay!

"Coming!" I replied but winked at the kids. It's my non-verbal way of communication to tell them that I'm just joking.

"I want to hear more stories, Kagome! Are you gonna leave so soon?" one of the kids asked and pouted.

I shook my head.

"I'm not!"

Right after I said those words, a hard blow from the wind appear and I felt my Mom's finger, twisting my ears.

"You're not, huh? Come here, brat!" Mom said and travels through the air while still holding my ears, leaving those children laughing at me, to our sweet little home.

Psh.

"Fine, sorry! Don't torture me anymore, I won't do it again, mom. I promise!" I said while she was still following me with a piece of wood in her hand.

I wrapped my tails all around my body.

"Stop right there, I will give you a present!!" Mom said.

She's not good at lying. Grrr!

Suddenly, a sound from the gong resounds. This means humans are nearby, we have to hide the rest of our tails leaving only 1 visible to their eyes.

We have to hide it to keep our powers safe.

"Whatever, I lost my appetite to scold you. Just bring this nuts to the human realm and sell them with a hug. Collect those little energies you will get, okay?" Mom said.

Human realm, my foot. We're already in their world but she keeps on calling it that way. She made it a habit.

I smiled to my ears and left. Finally! I found a chance to see him again.

"How much?"

"3 hugs only!"

"How about a kiss?"

"Yeah, but you will only get half of the nuts."

Any physical affection can produce human energy. So I will grab whatever is available.

"Alright, here we go," he said and smacked me.

His energy is so little, maybe because he's a pervert.

"Gross," I said behind that human.

"Hey..." I heard a whisper behind my ears, and caressed through my waist. It's him.

The rest of my tails are wagging because of the excitement I am feeling right now. I can't help myself!

But I have to... tch.

"Are you done with your products, Ms. Gorgeous?" he asked me. I smiled at him.

"Almost, Polo. I still have to sell half of this tray.

"Hmmm, then how about I buy them all? Payment is just a hug, right?" I asked.

"Yep, but---"

"No buts," he said and hugged me.

His energy is so heart-melting. I can feel how much he loves and cares for me. Ughh! This energy could make my tail glow!

Help yourself, Kagome!

"How can I resist you? You're so... cute."

He blushed and let go of the hug.

"You're a sly fox!" he said and laughed.

Human energy can be collected without any return. But it'll make them weaker. So what we do is just offer them fruits, nuts, juice, so it's a tie.

But Polo is giving it to me willingly. So I guess he's beginning to lose weight because of the energy I got from him.

Aish! He's making my heart thump faster.

"See you at the festival," I said and traveled through the air away from him.

Humans at this time know creatures like us. But they're not scared. I hope we won't turn evil in their eyes when the time comes.

"Hi, Kagome! I saw you and Polo, huh? You're hugging! Have you collected enough energy to become human?" Anya said, my friend.

I laughed and gave her a sign to keep quiet.

"Shh! Shut your butt! I'm still the leader of the Cobalt pack. I'm waiting for Kira to take over so I could enjoy Polo's company without thinking of protecting my pack," I replied.

"Get through with it over a glass of wine. Do you like that human?" she asked. I accepted the wine she's been holding and drank it.

"Yes, I do. I even invited him to attend our festival," I said.

I'm so excited to show him how many tails I possessed and how powerful a leader is.

"What? Are you crazy? Humans can't see foxes' nine tails! You, of all people, should know that!" she said. I laughed and tapped her shoulder.

"Don't you trust me? Polo isn't what you think he is. He will never betray me, Anya," I said confidently.

I know what kind of person he is, I am the last person who'll doubt him.

"Your relationship isn't clear as water either, Kagome. How can you be so sure?" Kayla, who just came in, said.

I rolled my eyes and took a sip of wine before answering.

"Trust is the main ingredient in love, girls. You will know it once you meet your soulmate, the person you will love with your whole being," I said.

"Is it a requirement to love a human while in love with a mere animal like you?" Kayla asked with a grin on her face.

Kayla and Anya are the leaders of the other fox pack. Mountain spirit always conducts a meeting for leaders, and that's what made us closer to each other.

Despite having similarities with our bad personalities, we managed to keep in touch as friends.

"What do you mean to love a human? He only loves me. He barely calls me an animal, Kayla."

"It's better for you to see, Kagome. Just ready your heart," Anya said.

"You both know this?" I asked.

"No more chitchats, Kagome. We've been telling you this the entire year. Yet, you didn't listen," Kayla said.

After that, both of them held onto my hand and teleported to the city, where Polo lives.

"Here, look for yourself. Watch at your own risk," Anya said. They're still as sophisticated as ever even at this moment.

My heart thumps so fast that I can almost hear it. I never believed these two with their accusations with Polo, but my tails are giving me the same vibes.

I looked inside through my eyes by not entering his house.

"How was it?" Anya asked.

"Why don't you look for yourself, goddamn it!" I said out of irritation.

Kayla laughed a little and tapped my shoulder.

"Let's go back to the festival, I believe you saw enough," Kayla said.

"They're just cooking... She's instructing him how to. That's just it..." I said, while my hands were trembling and started to grow fur again.

"While he's holding her hand?" Anya asked.

"And hugging her from behind?" Kayla added.

"You're not this low, Kagome," Anya said.

"Let's go," I said and traveled back to the foxes' field.

I can't afford to see another scene that'll ruin my trust in him again.

I'll just believe him. No matter what.

WHILE these foxes' parents are getting ready to get the light from the moon spirit, all the guardians met at once.

They were standing on top of the hill and staring at those foxes. Their image is small for these gods and goddesses.

"She's getting weaker," Mountain spirit said. He is Konan. His body has lava, and his hair is burning from fire.

"You're right. She can't separate her feelings from her priority as a leader. All foxes might be put into danger because of her irresponsibility. What did we do wrong?" Forest spirit replied. Her name is Olivia. She is surrounded by twigs, leaves, and flowers.

"No, we didn't do any. She had free will to decide on her own. Moon spirit gave her," Konan said.

"Her spirit will become weaker and weaker. She will lose in the power of love. Let's watch if she changes her mind," Moon spirit said. They call her Venus. She is the most powerful spirit among them all. Her appearance is just like a normal person, or animal. She wears a white dress and a moon tiara.

"Watch? And you're not doing anything? What are you here for?" Mountain spirit asked in vexation.

Venus' eyes became blue like a deep ocean and waters suddenly appeared beside her.

"Hey! Get your waters together!" Forest spirit said.

"Although the moon is the most powerful, it has no right to get in between the lives of their creation. I have given them multiple chances to choose. It depends on how they will use it. I'm done meddling."

Suddenly, Moon's spirit became calm. Waters was gone, and her eyes came back from being brown.

"So what is our purpose?" Konan asked.

"We are guardians. Gods and Goddesses. Not just some random being with powers. If you still think we have to get in between, read it again," Moon spirit said.

THE gong resounds, which means random humans are here.

Only a few hours before we transformed into our original form, and yet we're being disturbed? Oh, come on!

"Kagome, bring this in the middle to shoo humans away," Mom said. She gave me chicken blood.

"Got it."

All foxes are already lined up with the leader of their pack. Ready to howl in the middle of the night.

But I'm still preoccupied.

I know what's more important. But my feelings are a traitor. I can't focus.

"Drink this," Kayla said while handing me a pear.

Pear's juice can calm the heart of a trembling gumiho. This is exactly what I need.

A few more hours after the disturbance, moonlight is already showing. The clouds are starting to move away from the moon. My worries were cast away just seeing this beautiful thing.

A howl started to resound in the woods. I can't help howling.

My tails started to glow and the rest of it came out.

My nine tails were all out and my eyes became blue as my powers continued to grow.

I am the leader among the leaders.

Only I can see the spirits/guardians with my eyes.

Just like what we planned, we created fireworks using our tails, and we began to float.

All of the foxes are as happy as I am right now.

Not until the group of humans suddenly appear with a fire in their hand.

"MONSTERS!"

"YOU'RE A HIDEOUS CREATURE!"

"Polo was right, your tails are so useful!"

Other foxes started to teleport, but others couldn't make it because of the humans' weapons. It's a silver one, and it's poisonous for foxes.

Foxes' are all trembling, I can't move. I am the leader, but I'm not doing anything. The f*ck! My tails' light has darkened, just like my heart that's starting to cover with stone.

Not so far from here, I saw Polo. He's together with that girl. He's smiling weirdly to me.

"Let's go away, Kagome!" Mom said.

"Are you gonna stand there forever?" Anya added.

"Come on, girl. Don't you ever get distracted by that man again? He already put us all in danger!" Kayla said. But I didn't listen.

My eyes turned red and blue.

"Leave without me. I have to end this myself."

"Finally you got some brain, Kagome. I'm still having doubts why the guardians chose you to be this powerful," random foxes said before teleporting.

I didn't mind those foxes who went against me and walked towards Polo.

He smiled mischievously.

My tears couldn't help from showing. This broken heart I got is the reason why.

I can teleport, but I want to go on foot. I want to know his reasons for betraying me.

I trusted him.

Just tell me Polo, that this is not your doing. Just one word and I will rush to come to you again.

"Do I have to explain myself, Kagome?" he said after I reached him.

My tears fell so hard continuously.

"Is this true? Did you tell them about us? E-especially our tails?" I asked.

Hoping he will say no.

But he didn't.

Instead, he held his arrow and shot Anya, Kayla, my Mom, who was staring and waiting for me to follow them.

My world collapsed. It feels like my heart was pierced with a lot of needles.

My eyes turned fully red because of the rage I am feeling right now.

"Did you get your answer? Now give me your tails!" he said.

Lightning and thunder began to shock humans. I can see from my behind how guardians protected my creatures, so I let them.

Polo was so scared, and so was her girlfriend, so he shot me with his arrows.

It hurt me. But it's not enough to put me down.

"K-Kagome... protect Kira," Mom whispered.

For foxes like us, we can hear any whispers as long as it's for us.

I listened to her, and put young Kira in the arms of the guardians. She has a lot of bruises and a fatal wound.

"S-stop raging with the help of nature! Or I will kill you!" Polo said while his hands were trembling.

The face with tears I had a while ago has gone.

As I continued to gather my powers, and he continued to shoot me with his arrow, I grew as high as a mountain. I became an enormous beast.

"And what will you do? Do you think you could stop me?! YOU'RE UNGRATEFUL JERK!"

"I will."

His last shot finally sat me down.

It hurts.

Suddenly, a mountain spirit teleported in front of me. Of course, I am the only one who sees him.

"Let's go, I'll hold you," he said. I didn't listen and threw him away from me.

"Now, what are you gonna do? What CAN you do? JUST GIVE ME YOUR TAILS!" he still insisted on having my tails so I slapped him using it.

"Kagome, don't curse!" the Mountain spirit shouted.

"Let her be, Konan."

I know this is the end of my era. So I gathered all my powers inside the fox bead.

My eyes turned blue like an ocean and red like a fire simultaneously.

"Stop it, Kagome!" the moon spirit finally meddled. But I just looked at her plainly and smiled mischievously.

"You're the reason why I became like this."

Polo had all the chances to sneak away, but he didn't. Probably thinking I'm that good.

With the help of my fox marble, I enchanted the fox bead and put it in the heart of Polo. I froze it.

"There, you now have identification for me. In no time, I will meet you again. Not now, but I will. And I will surely remember who exactly you are. Remember that, Polo. Warn your descendants, warn your girlfriend! I will find you and kill all of the humans that belong to your clan. I proclaim, in the name of Konan, Olivia, and Venus. WE WILL MEET AGAIN"

After I said that, I perished like ash in the air, and a part of my ash blew higher to reach the spirits where my sister Kira went.

I'm about to pass out, so I enchant it to come to her and burn my soul to it.

She will have it, and I will restore myself from the dead.

I promise.

Chapter 2 Cursed

KAGOME perished through the air and left her ashes on the ground. It's a combination of the color red and blue. Moon spirit saw how Kagome managed to engraved her ashes onto Kira's womb. She knew from the start what her plan was. But she didn't stop and meddle.

She just watched as all the other spirits did.

Some of the foxes from different packs escaped from the dreadful place where their descendants, including the greatest one Kagome, lost their lives.

Again, SOME of them. Because nine-tailed foxes almost went extinct.

Forest spirit led them to their new home. It's still midnight, so Moon spirit Venus went to land and meet the foxes. She covers the whole area limited to their eyes only. Venus transformed into a human body to conceal her true nature. Nobody is allowed to see her except The One.

"Foxes, hear me out. I am your Goddess, and I need your trust," she said, but Foxes didn't mind her and continued to walk away.

She had no choice, so she floated in front of them. But it wasn't a surprise. For them, it was just a natural phenomenon since they can do the same thing.

"What? Are you trying to impress us?"

"Come on, girl, we can also do things like that," she said and floated as well.

Okay, that's it for Venus. She has a temper, she's arrogant, and doesn't want to get tested.

Her eyes turned red and she floated in the middle of all the gumihos.

Mountain and forest spirit tried to stop her, but she was just too powerful. So these two just watched her from behind while being invisible to the foxes.

"I swear by the name of all the deities, all foxes will have an innocent but seducing face. No one can ever escape from falling in love with you. But you will have a curse because of Kagome's betrayal for putting you all in danger, including humans," she stopped for a while and gathered all the waters beside her.

"What?! We've been betrayed and instead of pity, we'll receive a punishment?! THAT'S UNFAIR!" Ryujin said, one of the leaders of the fox pack.

"WHATEVER YOU'RE PLANNING IS, PLEASE, DON'T DO THIS TO US!" Jennie, a leader too, said.

Venus shut their mouth using her waters and clouds.

Her waters surround the whole fox pack, all of them. Even the ones who are trying to escape from the curse.

Her eyes turned blue.

"When the clock hits midnight, you will be able to receive moonlight from me every single night to enhance your powers and become human. But if you receive moonlight at full moon, you will become a hideous beast just like what the humans accused you of. You will become as big as a bear, and as hideous as a wild pig. You will obtain those fangs they have. And lastly, you will never trust a girl leader anymore. No worries, you will still behave just like a normal fox every night."

Her eyes turned red as she continued to enchant her curse among the foxes.

Each fox received water from Venus to apply her curse, and they became frozen.

"There will be special circumstances for you, foxes. If the night is the full moon, you will become a real beast who will attack everyone. You will make yourself a bad creature, and you will experience this curse for the rest of your life. But don't worry, someone will stop you from turning into one. You will meet her," when she said the last exact words, Kira appeared.

Kira was thrown by the other guardians in Venus' arms.

Venus accidentally held her womb with the thought of the fox who will be appointed to end their future sufferings.

"Who are you?" Kira asked.

Konan and Olivia's eyes turned blue.

"In the power of the Moon spirit, I blessed this child to carry the foxes' savior in the future in her womb. I blessed her with my lava," Konan said.

"All forests will be your guide and shelter you. I blessed you with my hand," Olivia said.

Konan and Olivia's hands intertwined and blessed it at Kira's womb.

She ended the curse and released foxes from her waters.

Venus, with Kira in her arms, teleported to the guardians.

"You lose my momentum to curse! What the hell is wrong with you two?!"

"We can't stop you, but we can get in between. Why won't you just assign their savior right away?" Konan asked.

Venus' eyes turned blue. She was in deep vexation right now and couldn't even find the perfect words to say.

"You didn't know? Even if I didn't appoint Kira's womb, she is already their savior in the first place. Her child will be."

God and Goddess are shocked by what they've heard. They're confused with her words and even have thoughts to believe it.

"What do you mean?" Olivia asked.

"Kagome left a part of her ashes at Kira's womb. She already blessed her with a curse. Now, I don't know how it'll affect Kira's future children," she said.

"What are you guys saying?" young Kira asked.

Moon, Mountain, and Forest spirit's eyes turned blue and erased her memory altogether.

Venus took a deep breath with disappointment on her face.

"Next time, just trust me. I didn't turn this powerful without a reason," she said and flew away, leaving Kira at the foxes' nation.

Foxes learned to transform into a human person completely, without a tail this time. That's why human ancestors who talked about their story just became a myth.

Today's descendants of human beings thought it was just an imagination and a little story from their grandparents. Little by little, gumiho's story has gone cold. They took it as an advantage to go out of their comfort zone. From there, a lot of gumiho became rich.

None of them stayed poor.

POLO, the traitor human died. But before he died, he made sure to give his pendant to the next man in their family. That was his protector from the foxes.

Its effect is to make gumiho disappear into a human's eyes.

So many years had passed, and Hiroshima was born from the family.

Hiro is an intelligent man, who was unluckily born from a poor family. They thought they were cursed. That's because his grandparents kept on saying that thing. Eventually, the following descendants believed him.

But not for Hiro.

One night, Hiro accidentally lost his way to the woods.

It was midnight, and the howling is pretty scary to hear if you're alone in the forest. Even if it's a normal thing to hear, he still gets scared.

He wants to run, but I'm bleeding. He wished to be saved by someone tonight because he wanted to go home.

Suddenly, a woman who was so beautiful came running to him. I mean, at this place. She ran like she was escaping from the rain but there wasn't one.

She's stunning. He's 10 years old, but why does he feel like he likes her already?

"Are you okay kid?" she asked. He mouthed his feet that's bleeding because of the branch he stepped into.

"Can you get me out of here?" he asked.

She smiled and patted his shoulder.

"You will. I will heal your wound. Tell me your name," she asked.

"I'm Hiro. How about you?" he asked.

"Close your eyes," she said and that's what he did.

"I'm Amaya," she said. From there, he opened his eyes to look at her.

But he wished he didn't.

Her hands glow through his veins. In an instant, it was healed.

She was shocked to see him with open eyes. But she didn't let him notice and erased his memory.

But little did she know, Hiro has a strong will.

He will never be affected by memory erasing.

Amaya teleported somewhere, leaving the kid with a lot of thoughts.

She was expecting him to be afraid like all the other humans did.

But she was wrong.

Instead, he felt so different.

AFTER so many years, finally, we moved a little less far from the woods.

"Hey! Mom, Dad, look at Mune. He's pestering me again!" I said to Kira and Loki.

Usually, we don't call them honorifics. Only if we have to be sweet towards them.

"It's not me! It's Aya! Tch. My little sis told me not to tell you this, but she didn't want to face the moonlight tonight just because it's a full moon!

"DON'T CALL ME YOUR LITTLE SIS! YOU'RE JUST 3 MINS OLDER THAN ME!"

"And I loved that three minutes of my life," he said and laughed his ass out.

I hit him with my tail. I just f*cking hates this man!

"Oh, you're learning to curse just like humans', huh? LITTLE sis?" Mune said.

Oh god, I forgot foxes could hear your thoughts if it's about you. I just kicked him again. This time, using my feet.

Living for so many years exhausts me.

Suddenly, I heard a rustling sound at the back of our house. And so as for Mune. We looked at each other and talked through our minds to check.

We're not yet getting close to it, yet my shoulder abruptly hurts.

Mune also did.

"K-Kira..." I called my mother.

"Again?" she said right after responding to my call.

Without having second thoughts, she healed our shoulders at the same time. Her eyes turned blue.

"You're burned is getting fatal. Be careful next time or it will be the end," she said and left.

"Tch, Kira still didn't get our story, Mune. How can we be careful of something we didn't know in the first place?" I said.

"Yeah, it's not like we want it. I don't know what happened in the past, but I'm affected! Whatever, Aya, I just want to rest," he said and left me as well. Whatever!

I was planning to go out and wander to the woods, but the rustling sound is bothering my soul!

Immediately, I caught him with my own hands.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

He didn't answer, so I looked closely at this young boy. He's so little!

I saw him holding a lot of pears!

"Are you a thief? A human thief!" I shouted.

The light from the bulb outside suddenly hit his eyes, and my shoulder began to hurt so bad that I even accidentally let him go.

I couldn't recognize him completely.

So I just shouted my lungs out. I can see Mune in my mind, he's just a few inches away from me, and he's hurt.

"Come here beside me," I said only in my mind to get that message to him alone. He responded immediately and went beside me. If we're together, I only feel less pain.

Our eyes turned green. It's unusual.

Because when we turned green, it meant we were in excruciating pain.

"Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded as a response and mouthed the little boy.

"He's snatching our pears."

"I'm sorry, okay? But what are you? God! You're a mesmerizing creature. A human? Half-human? With tails? And also, didn't you recognize me?" he asked.

Mune and I looked at each other and instantly did our job to let that little boy forget tonight's incident. I didn't mind his last words.

We sent him away as well.

To my surprise, our pain suddenly went away...

"What was that? It's new. Our birthmark never got okay until Mom healed us. What kind of sorcery is this?" Mune asked in confusion.

"I don't know. Let it slide, bro. I want to rest. I feel like I became weaker because of him."

It's a full moon.

It means we will become hideous creatures again.

"AMAYA! MUNE! DO I HAVE TO SHOUT?!" Kira called for us.

"WHAT?!" I replied.

"Just come here before I even plan to twitch your ears!"

"Kira, leave your daughter alone. This is the perfect night to be crowned Mune. Calm your tails," Loki said to my father. I'm just glad he rescued me.

Argh! How could he remind me of such a thing that I hated to remember at all?

I want to be the fox pack leader too. Why does it have to be Mune? Tch.

If I only have the power to become a REAL man, I will.

I left the house.

I was about to wander to the woods, but then, I bumped into him.

Kent, from the alpha pack, appeared in front of me. He's still as cute as ever.

"Oh, it was you! Sorry, I didn't bump into you on purpose," he said. But I can't process it.

I didn't reply. Instead, I just stared at him, still amazed.

"H-hey? Haha. Anyway, I should go."

"N-no! U-Uhm, I'm wondering if we could... you know... go out together?" I asked with full confidence.

He smiled.

Jeez! I get it, your smile is my weakness. Do you really have to show it to me?

"Yes, we should do that. I have something to tell you too," he said. And I could barely breathe!

I was too mesmerized and shocked that he approved, 'cause I didn't even realize that he left!

"Wow, my sister's heart is thumping so fast! KENT! SHE IS AHSS--"

He couldn't talk more 'cause I zipped his mouth already.

"He knew it, dumb."

"DO I HAVE TO SHOUT AND REMIND YOU TO COME HOME, KIDS?!" Mom said and immediately pulled us together inside using her tails.

"It's a full moon! You know it's too dangerous, right? Just... stay here."

JUST as expected, they will become a beast, out of themselves, and thirsty for human blood, liver, and intestines. But luckily, they were able to tie themselves up.

"They've been suffering for so many years, Lady Venus. Why can't you just give them their savior already? Does she need to produce a child again?" Konan said.

Venus got so angry and splashed water using her powers.

"You really have no common sense."

"What? So it's my fault now, dear? God. I just want to help foxes. Some of them were attacked by humans because of their beastly nature. No humans are nearby, so foxes' energies were out of stock as well!

They're about to get extinct. And you didn't worry a single bit," he replied.

She closed her eyes as she is still meditating herself to answer calmly 'because she was about to burst up in emotions.

"Why can't you just sit and stop meddling in their lives? If they're about to lose their descendants, it will be."

"Don't be absurd, Venus. Just tell us who you appointed to be The One!" Olivia asked.

Venus opened her eyes.

"You met them already."

On the other side of the stage, the Cobalt pack family was about to receive moonlight in the full moon.

The two kids are already tied up really tight, but the parents were enchanted by something they couldn't identify to not to put it in time.

"Have you worn your necklaces?" Loki asked.

"Yes, but why won't you tie yourselves as well?"

"There's something on my mind, Aya. Something stopping me," Kira replied.

Those necklaces are bound to help them once they get into a situation that is hard to deal with. Especially if that burn from their shoulder will cause a ruckus to other people.

Their parents knew that it isn't just a normal spirit, but they kept it a secret because they think that Mune and Amaya will just be going to be bothered.

It'll get more complicated.

"Just try it again, Kira. I don't want to handle another mess," Mune said.

Kira and Loki tie themselves like us.

The moonlight appears. Slowly, we became a beast and started to go insane.

I know what I am doing. I can at least record it in my mind despite not having control over my body.

We were biting out of nowhere, thirsty with the humans.

Mune and I managed to stay at the chains.

But my parents didn't.

They managed to escape... outside the woods.

Chapter 3 Full Moon

MOON lights are still out, so foxes are still in the middle of howling.

They couldn't get back to their original form until 3 am.

"It's so funny to watch those creatures from here, Kent."

"Are you enjoying it, Jennie? They're always like that, in the middle of the night. It's just getting worse if it's a full moon," I said and took a sip of Hennessy.

"But how did you manage to dupe Amaya that you're one of us? She's too fussy to miss that," Ryujin asked.

"It's easy. She's into me, and I took that as an advantage."

"Just don't bite her if you get hungry, old vampy! Haha!" Jennie said and laughed her ass out.

Ryujin and Jennie are leaders of their packs before. But their relatives died long ago because of that curse. That's why they went into hiding and live as humans do. But in a bad way. Instead of getting energy from the moonlight, they're collecting humans. It's easier.

Their relatives died in a full moon, they couldn't control themselves. One night, when they got out in the woods, a group of humans saw their relatives eating a human. They attacked the foxes at once and killed them with a fire and silver harpoon. That was long ago so harpoon is still on-trend.

In today's era, a gun is their enemy. It's a silver one, so it's still dangerous for them.

"Let me ask you something, Kent. Didn't you develop feelings for her?" Ryujin asked.

Before answering, I took a deep breath and sip on my wine.

"It's unnecessary."

"Really? Then I have no problems at all," he said and smiled. What is he talking about?

"Aren't we all teamed up to shut them all down, especially the Cobalt fox pack? What's with that question and emotion, RJ?" Jennie asked.

He sighed.

"Fine, I'll admit it. I like her, I want to make her mine. I was afraid to confess my feelings before because I thought this vampire liked her as well," he said. Jennie laughed after hearing his answer.

"Haha! Can you hear yourself? Do you think it's the perfect time to even think about women?!"

"Listen, we can continue our plan to consume the whole foxes' races. Just seclude Amaya. Or else..." he said and his eyes turned red.

"...I might get out of myself, Jennie."

"Cut the crap! I'm getting annoyed. Can't you see me here?!" I said and shook them both to get back to their senses.

"S-sorry," they said in chorus.

"Just remember the reasons why we're even here together in the first place and stop being a pain in the ass!" I said and walked away.

I stayed here downstairs while Kira and Loki were released from being tied down, carrying a beastly nature inside and out.

It didn't last that long until an arrow from my window upstairs appeared and kill Loki and Kira. They were both shots, but too strong to pass out.

They were already fatal. But I'm still hungry for food.

Suddenly, humans showed up in front of them.

Their nature influences them to kill more and more humans.

Until another group of that creature appeared and killed them both.

"Good job, humans."

MIDNIGHT had passed, the clock ticked 3 am, and foxes were finally put into a deep sleep. But not for me and Mune. Because before we were both consumed by the curse completely, we have seen our parents slip away from the chain.

Abruptly, I heard something outside.

"Aya, where are you going?" Mune asked.

I started to walk slowly upstairs to see what was going on.

"Argh! Are you keeping this up? They're too old to check if they are okay."

"WILL YOU SHUT UP?! Something's strange. You can feel it too so don't act up! Get yourself together, Mune."

Now, we're slowly walking towards the window, being careful to see what's going on outside.

"What are they?"

"They were a hideous beast a while ago, and now, they transformed into human form."

"My child! I'm sorry I wasn't here to protect you... I'm sorry, baby girl..."

"Bring him to the ambulance, you can save the boy."

"What about my girl?"

"Sorry, you lost her."

"KILL THEM!"

"They've been killed by the experts already."

Our tears begin to flow. We can see through our eyes, even if a human is covering my parents, that it's them. It's my Kira and Loki.

Our eyes turned red, we teleported our parents before they completely perished.

"Kira, Loki, wake up! You can be healed by us. We contained a lot of moon energy, enough to heal you. Mune, hold my hand!" I pleaded.

Mune held my hand while his tears were continuously falling.

"Mom, Dad... hang on, please? We can still save you!" Mune said.

"Focus, Mune. Let's combine our energy and power," Aya said. Still calm despite her gloomy emotions.

She's holding herself back to release all positive energy to her parents and to increase the chance of saving them.

My heart is crying out loud. I can also feel the burn start to hurt as well... so bad. It led us to distraction.

"I couldn't focus, Mune! What should I do? Mune! It hurts... mom..." I cried.

Not because of the pain in my shoulder.

But because I could lose them, right there and then.

"Let's... try again, Aya. We can make it," Mune said.

He's fearless from the very beginning until today. I can see how hurt he'd become, and how much force he's releasing from his inside to save our parents.

I nodded.

We sat in a parallel position and made a circle with our parents.

Outside are still confused with what happened, so I erased their memories while focusing on protecting my parents.

"By the deities around the world, I summon you and serve you with your blessing. Give me the power of reviving them both," Mune said and shouted his vow in return for their blessing.

"Listen, especially the forest spirit who is assigned to protect us with her jurisdiction. I gave half of my life to Kira and Loki. At least give us a chance to talk to them if you wouldn't plan to give them back to us again," I said in my vow.

"Hey, you shouldn't act so mean, Aya! We're asking them for help!"

The circle that's bounding us together, with our parents' body, started to glow. Kira and Loki floated.

"I'm raging, Mune! What do you think I would say and feel?! DO I HAVE TO BE HAPPY?!" I shouted.

"Just get your shit together and be considerate!"

"I can't! I'M TOO CONSUMED BY MY EMOTIONS!"

Suddenly, an enormous light blows up.

Kira and Loki started to perish slowly on the ash.

"See what you've done? ARGH! I HATE YOU, AMAYA!" Mune shouted.

He collects their ashes while crying. I couldn't even move an inch.

"I'm sorry..." I uttered. This tear feels like they have their own life.

I couldn't stop it. It's just flowing. At the same time, my heart is cracking into pieces. No, I mean my bead. It's breaking me into pieces...

I don't have a heart.

"And you want to be a leader? With that attitude? I'm afraid you will never be," he said.

I didn't listen to him so I ran outside the house and flew towards the sky.

My heart is in deep pain. I want to stop all of this at once and become a normal fox.

I never experienced being normal.

"BUT BECAUSE OF THAT KAGOME, I HAVE TO SUFFER BEING A BEAST!" I shouted, and that hurt my shoulder. It hurts.

It feels like something strange is about to go out of it.

I saw in my vision that Mune felt the same.

Our eyes both turned red.

I summon Mune beside me.

"A-are you okay?" I asked while holding my shoulder.

"You guess? Is it your fault again?"

"Mune, I have to go to the moon and put a stop to all of this."

"What are you saying? Did you forget? Venus doesn't like visitors.

Anyone who tried to barge in never came back alive!"

"I have to try. I know there's no guarantee for my life. But I have nothing to lose anymore. I'll go, Mune."

I was about to fly, but our shoulders hurt so bad.

"And then what? Leave me here in pain?" he asked.

It fucking hurts so bad.

"We have to be together, Aya."

I didn't mind him, so I planned to go and run to the moon.

But he hugged me from behind. His tears wetted my clothes.

"I lost my parents. I couldn't afford to lose you too, Aya."

He turns my body to him, to face him, and hug me again.

"I want you to stay by my side until we get better. I will never let you go," he said and tightened the hug.

I responded to his hug and released my emotion.

I cried so loud.

"I can't afford to lose you too, brother. But it'll be too hard again if we both end up like our parents," I said. I closed my eyes and teleported.

Wait for me. I will be back.

GUARDIANS are watching the twin's heartbreaking scene. From the moment they lost their parents until she teleported to the moon.

She's still outside the moon spirit's gate and finding a way to come inside.

"Why wouldn't you just let her in?" Olivia asked.

I took a deep breath while looking at my mirror.

"I'm...shy."

Two of the guardians laughed so hard after hearing my thoughts.

"Don't you have jobs? Why are you always present to pester me? The hell!" I said and rolled my beautiful eyes and long eyelashes.

"Whoa! Look at that! Our girl learned to curse," Konan said and laughed.

"I lived for so many years, Konan. Don't you think I didn't learn something?!" I said and released a drum of water to splash on their faces.

Instead of opening the gate for her, I just summoned Amaya and kicked the other guardians to their respective places.

"I can't grant your wish."

"H-huh? Uhm, I'm not saying anything yet, Moon Spirit."

"Yeah, but I'm too powerful so I know what's on your mind," I replied.

"Okay, if you don't want it, let's just have a deal. I'll do everything you want in exchange for lifting our curse. No matter how hard, or long it gets. Just help me please," she pleaded.

I turned my back against her.

"No."

"Yes, please?"

"I said NO!" I replied and splash water on her face using my water.

"...go," I said and teleported her back to his brother Mune.

"You should've done that! She's the savior, right?" Konan asked.

Tsk, these stupid guardians kept on meddling my decisions.

"Forget it. Foxes are going to get extinct too. There's no reason to keep her. Why are you so obsessed? It's not like you were a fox too," I said.

"We were, Venus. It's so sad you forget about it," Konan said and disappeared through the air.

"We're obsessed because we care, and you don't," Olivia said and teleported to her place.

I have plans, but I shouldn't share them with them.

The highest almighty might get mad, and I don't want it.

If only they knew my reason, I might gain trust from them.

TONIGHT is going to be my last night duty here at Pavilion. So I will hang out late at night later in the woods.

I've been waiting for this to happen for sooo long!

"Okay, here's your receipt. Again, never let her taste any chocolate food. Even just a tiny bit of it," I reminded my patient.

She nodded and went out.

A girl came in again. But this time, it wasn't just a normal patient.

She's that irritating girl who's always clinging to me! My god!

"Hey, I want you to take me where you're going tonight," she said.

"How about some please, Yna? Psh. Get out of my sight. I don't want another burden. I have a lot of loans to pay. They're dead, but left me a bunch of responsibility. INCLUDING YOU!"

"It's not my fault. Just include me with your trip later, okay?" she said.

"No."

"Don't leave me to them! I don't want to be with our uncle!" I said.

"Argh! Fine! Just don't bring too many clothes."

"Too late, Hiro! I've already brought a whole suitcase," she said.

"Whatever!"

Later that night, I went to the woods with Yna. That was the same place I went to when I was 10 years old. When I accidentally lost and found her. They were different, but she's beautiful.

I'm too young to be in love with an adult. But I felt different towards her.

Now that I'm 24, I can finally meet her again. This time, I will make sure to introduce myself and make her mine.

"Bro, what's this place? It looks haunted! When did you build this ugly tent?" she asked.

"You're so picky. You don't have a choice anyway. What's the point? I really should've brought you with me," I said.

"No! I'm fine with this. But I was just wondering, are there no monsters living in this forest?" she asked while examining the whole area.

"There isn't anything. Enjoy your stay here, I'm sure you will enjoy it," I said.

Midnight has passed, and here I am. Hoping to see her again.

I know where she lives, but I don't want to disturb her.

I was planning to go inside and rest first before wandering to the woods when I saw my grandfather's jolen again. I thought I put it in my bag?

It's shining so bright and getting me attracted to it unintentionally.

It's tempting me to eat jolen, but what the hell? I might choke and die! How about my love life?

It didn't last long when it finally seduced me to eat it. Oh god, its taste is so addicting, like there's caffeine on it. The texture doesn't feel like a rock.

It's solid!

The moment I swallowed the jolen, my stomach glowed, and I became weaker.

My body collapsed, and my vision couldn't see vividly.

Amaya comes running into me.

It's blurry, so I couldn't exactly tell what she doing.

But right now, I could tell, her appearance made me calm alone.
