Emily's POV

"Emily, Run!" My mother screamed, her voice cracking in terror as the paws of the beast crashed closer to her.

Running.... Running..... Running!

I can't look back, my heart racing like a furious drum in my chest.

I kept on running and running into the darkness of the woods, my legs shaky, my knees trembling with each step.

"Please" I sobbed while begging to the moon goddess. "Please, I can't die like this"

I am Emily von heist.

I am the only rightful daughter of the current alpha king of nightfall park alpha Richard.

He was known for his taste for power and superiority above all.

My father Richard was 42 years old, chubby, dark skinned, with silky dark hair, held all back. He had slightly light blue eyes with a beard round his mouth.

My mother's name was selene, selene von Heist, my mother was just an omega when my dad got married to her, she was 37 years old, she has a fair skin tone, blonde hair with a medium sized body.

I have an adopted sister Vivian, Vivian was adopted by one of the Gamma's of the nightfall park, a senior member of the park.

Despite being the only rightful daughter, my father always treated me like I was the adopted one, while Vivian was treated as the first daughter.

According to my father he claimed to have sworn an oath to protect Vivian no matter the cost.

Living in the nightfall park wasn't easy as I always get maltreated and beaten up by Vivian who has always been angry and jealous of me for being the rightful daughter,

She claimed to have better features than me and has more leadership qualities than me. I was known as the child who has no wolf

But that changed during our 18th birthday.

It was custom that a daughter from the Alpha king will be presented hence a grand ball is held in the palace. All the high class alpha from neighboring countries were invited to pick a mate.

The day for the grand ball has finally arrived, Shafts of sunlight sliced through the curtains, splashing brilliant gold across the tangled sheets....

I glanced through the window of my room, all the maids were preparing for the grand ball, when suddenly I heard a knock on my door "come in".. I said.

The door knob opened and a maid walked in. "Good morning, lady Emily, I am Quin and I will be at your service today" she said with a joyful smile. "Morning," I said.

Quin walked into the bathroom and prepared a bath for me. A rush of water cascaded down, steam curling upward like ghostly fingers.

From a small shelf, she chose a vial of lavender oil, tipping a few drops into the bath.

The scent unfurled instantly, rich and calming. Without a word, she adjusted the water temperature, testing it with the back of her hand,

After my bath, I was dressed. The dress I wore was a deep shade of purple, its fabric rich and smooth like satin. It clung gently to my silhouette, then flared out just above her knees.

Around the waistline, a delicate band of embroidered flowers bloomed in intricate patterns, tiny lavender petals, pale pink buds, and soft green vines woven together in an elegant design that seemed almost alive.

The neckline dipped modestly in a soft V, just enough to hint at the curve of her collarbones.

"You look beautiful lady, Emily," Quin said. A smile crept on my lips as she was indeed correct.

This was the most beautiful I have ever seen myself since living in nightfall park.

"Your mate won't be able to resist you lady Emily" she teased. A soft giggle left my lips" I hope so" I whispered to myself.

"You may go," I said to Quin. She took a bow before exiting my room.

I looked at myself in the mirror and kept on admiring myself, my curves are very visible.

"KNOCK, KNOCK, there was a knock on the door.

The door opened and a maid entered an bowed in front of me

"Lady Emily, all the guests have arrived, the alpha king has requested your presence immediately" the maid said.

"I understand, I'll be there shortly." I said to her,

I looked at the young lady in the mirror again, took a deep breath and exited the room.

I was walking steadily, practiced how to walk with heels and a gown for over a week.

Walking in the hallway I met my mother waiting for me.

"Happy birthday my daughter" mum said with a huge smile on her face. " Thank you mum," I replied. My mother has always treated me like her daughter unlike my father, he treats me like his adopted daughter and treats Vivian like his daughter,

My father didn't approve of me attending the grand ball party, but my mother fought for my sack to join Vivian in the grand ball. I loved my mother so much, she was all I had left in my blood.

"Have you seen your sister Vivian?" mum asked me. "No I haven't seen her, maybe she is still preparing" I replied, "mum replied with a slight nod"

"Are you excited to meet your mate today"?

"How do you feel"? She asked with an excited tone in her voice. " mm..mm, I wonder what he would look like or who he may be, I'm kind of nervous" I replied.

at the end of the hallway was stairs leading

To the ballroom of the palace. There my father and Vivian were waiting for me "I guess Vivian was earlier than I thought", I giggled.

My father was facing me while Vivian was looking at me with a bit of jealousy in her eyes.

"Alpha Richard, my alpha king"

I greeted him as his daughter, I held my skirt and gave him a courtesy.

"You may rise"

Father ordered me.

I slowly stood up and looked up at him, my father looked at me with a bit of surprise with a little emotion, this was the first time he looked at me this way, the other times he would look at me indifferently.

Father took I and Vivian arm intertwined in his.

I looked down the ball room. Many high class alphas were wearing good dresses, some were chattering, some were eating, some were dancing on the dance floor, everyone was present except from the alpha of crescent moon park.

Emily POV

We walked down the ball room, when suddenly the sound of music stopped

One of the servants blew the trumpet to get the guest's attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen...I present to you the alpha of nightfall park, Richard von Heist and his daughter's Emily von Heist and Vivian von Heist " the servant announced our presence.

"Dear guests,.I would like to present to you my daughters, Emily von Heist and Vivian von Heist," the father announced with an alpha accent.

The crowd applauded, I was feeling overwhelmed, this was the first time I attended a grand ball. Vivian on the other hand has attended lots of balls as father wouldn't let me attend one because I had no wolf.

"Let the grand ball begin!" Father announced with an authoritative voice.

Everyone was dancing on the dance floor, laughing, chattering,eating.

Vivian was at the edge of the ball room when a figure approached her. I thought she had found her mate. He had light blue eyes, long dark hair. Strands of inky black hair flowed into a sleek ponytail.

Vivian danced with the unknown guy for some time until in a blink of an eye he was nowhere to be found.

Vivian had a joyful smile written all over her face and I kept on wondering why

"Hey mum and dad, I would be going out for some while I have something to do" she said.

My parents furrowed the brows as to where she would be going.

"But Vivian, you haven't found your mate yet" mum replied. "Yeah I know I didn't feel any connection with anyone here, I'll be back byeee" she said and ran off.

"Hello Emily" a strange man approached me.

"I am Zachery, Beta to the alpha king of the crescent moon pack" he said with a wide grin.

"Why are you here?" I replied. "Your father and the alpha king has some business meeting, I was sent to escort your father"

So you didn't...... before I could continue I was interrupted by my father's voice.

"Zachery"! "My father said.

Zachery took a slight bow to my father.

"Shall we go," Father said.

"Yes,Damian awaits your presence"

Hmm...I guess the alpha of the crescent moon pack, his name is Damian I guess.

I turned to walk away in search of my mate when my dress got spilled with drinks "I'm so sorry lady Emily,I didn't see you" one of the servants who was carrying a trail of drinks said.

I went up to my room to change my dress, when someone dashed into my room. Before I could see who it was The sound of the slap was heard,

My head snapped to the side, my skin stinging where the slap landed. A red welt bloomed across my cheek,

"Vivian, what the hell," I said.

"Look at you, all weak, you think you can come to the grand ball party and look all shiny and beautiful!" Vivian said with hatred filled in her voice.

"You will never find yourself a mate Emily, you have no wolf!" Vivian yelled at me.

She walked away from my room before leaving and she gave me a deadly glare full of hate. Tears threaten to fall from my eyes as memories of my old life flashes in my head.

I stayed in my room still crying ,KNOCK, KNOCK, the door opened and Amy, my best friend, walked in, face full with worry.

"Emily, what happened?" Amy asked

I quickly robbed of the tears on my face"nothing I'm fine" I replied

"Emily! What did we say about hiding things from each other"? Amy looked at me with confusion.

"Fine," I said.

"It's my sister Vivian, she harassed me because I looked more beautiful than her today" I said with a shaky voice

"Vivian"? Amy looked furious, like she was going to do something terrible to Vivian.

Amy has always had my back ever since, she fights for me and protects me like I am her sister.

"That little she-wolf I am gonna kill her" Amy got up and was about to leave my room but I stopped her. "Amy, no don't, let her be, I don't want you to have anything to do with Vivian" I said.

"Look at your face Emily, how could she?" Amy said. "I have seen worse," I replied.

Amy came closer to me and took me into her embrace, I felt happy, Amy was always by my side.

"Who cares about the ball party anyway, I have Amy" I whispered.

Richard POV

We reached the crescent moon park palace, Zachery parked in front of the palace gate.

Some guards came and escorted us inside the palace.

On the walkway I stumbled into Damian's uncle, Jimmy Parker. Jimmy gave me a slight bow, he had a sinister grin on his face.

Jimmy has always planned on taking the throne from his nephew Damian,he claims Damian is too naive and too young to rule.

The scheduled meeting between I and Damian was part of Jimmy's plan.

Halfway towards the hallway already and we finally stopped in front of a huge door.

KNOCK, KNOCK, "come in" Damian said from inside his office.

"Ah...alpha Richard it's a pleasure to have you here today". Damian said cheerfully.

"A pleasure to meet you too, Alpha Damian,"I replied.

"I have to comment, I am pleased by the descent and the beauty of your land Damian"i said

"Thank you Richard, the land of the crescent moon pack is filled with lots of rich resources which helps us keep the beauty of the land and a stable supply of natural resources to our people" Damian said.

"To what do I owe this visit Richard"? Damian asked.

I leaned closer to the desk of Damian, my hands in front, intertwined together, looking Damian straight in the eyes. "I came here today to discuss with you a business proposal that will benefit us both" I said.

"Mm-hmm is that so, alright then I am listening" Damian replied.

"You know the land of nightfall pack isn't as rich as the one in crescent moon park, and we find it difficult to supply stable natural resources to members of our pack, which leads to shortage in food production and natural resources" I said

Damian leans backwards on his chair with his hands folded "mm-hm, I see, so what are suggesting"? Damian asked.

"I want you alpha Damian to give nightfall pack half of the land resources to help boost our economy this way we have an agreement, we be in business together which profits both packs" I replied

Damian looked at me with a sinister look and I was taken aback by the fury in his eyes

"YOU WANT ME TO DO WHAT!" Damian yelled and slammed his desk with fury.

"Alpha Damian, this is what will benefit both packs, with this alignment we will be untouchable from any pack". I said

"I don't need your alignment and I am not giving half of my land resources to you" Damian said.

I could feel my blood boiling with in me, anger written all over my face, I balled my fist

"You are making a big mistake alpha Damian"

My voice is calm but sounds more like a threat.

You dare threaten me in my own pack Richard? Damian asks with a cold voice.

Leave my office Richard immediately! Damian said.

I stood up and leaned closer to Damian,looking him in the eyes. Gave him a smirk.

I turned around and walked away.

Heading back to the nightfall pack I reminisced about the conversation I had with Damian.

That bastard thinks he can reject my offer, so I rubbed my chin. We'll see about that Damian. I whispered to myself.

"Damian won't take my offer the easy way, then I'll take it the hard way". A wicked smile crept on my face.

I reached my pack, heading towards my office, all the servants and guards gave me a bow as I walked past them.

"Where is the Alpha queen?" I asked one of the guards.

"Alpha,I haven't seen the Alpha queen" the guard replied with a respectful bow.

"And Emily?" I asked again.

"Lady Emily is currently in her room with Amy Skye," the guard said. "Good," I said.

"Send words to Leon my Beta, tell him to meet me in my office immediately" I ordered.

I reached my office,

After few minutes, Leon reached my office, he gave me a bow

"Alpha Richard, you sent for me" he replied.

"Gather the best men, we are going fishing!"

I chuckled.

"Yes alpha" leon replied,

Leon looked at me with confusion written all over his face, but didn't ask any questions and proceeded in the order.

"I'M COMING FOR BLOOD SON!" I whispered to myself and left my office.
