Those creatures are rampant, they are destructive and ruthless. Being a witch, a wolf, and a vampire at the same time does no justice to us. Whatever happens Isabella, we have to stay away from the border, from the territories where the hybrids lurk, this is the only way to protect our people." ................................ From an extremely young age, Isabella's father, the alpha of Moonlight Pack has shed a light on the dangers of hybrids. It was forbidden for any wolf in any Pack to interact with the hybrids. They were called the curse, believed to bring destruction upon the werewolf community, especially because witches and vampires had gone extinct. What happens when her father suddenly passes away and she is to assume full leadership of her Pack. In a quest to attain peace, Isabella accepts to set up a meeting with the king of the hybrids to negotiate boundaries and make a peace treaty. She wants an antidote to the poison that is spreading over the pack. Destiny however has different plans when she discovers that she was mated to the hybrid King, Adonis Cacius Kade! In the face of an intense and all-consuming heat, will they be able to resist their desires and avoid their own ruin? In the face of mounting tension and hostility between the two species, will they be able to find a way to coexist or will their hatred lead to their own demise?

Chapter 1 one

"ISABELLA!!'' There it was, a voice filled with panic.

"IT'S YOUR FATHER!" I'm pretty sure everyone in the pack heard that, I wasn't hallucinating. That rampant screeching voice that ran through the link connected to every member in the park. Everyone heard the message. Everyone knew it was directed to be.

"Father.." I whispered in a broken voice, my knees weakening as I looked around me. All eyes were fixated on me, as though reading my reaction and waiting for my next move. The field went quiet, and the sounds of warriors training and others transforming died down. It was as silent as a graveyard. I could hear the fast beating of my heart, the anxiety rising, breathing conscripting in my lungs as I looked around for my best friend. She was nowhere to be seen.

My heart is suddenly aching, there is an unfamiliar feeling inside me and it turns on negative emotions. It's like deja vu, something extremely bad is about to happen and I can't stop it. The last time a message was announced through the mind link of every pack member, was when someone noble was....dead.

Mere seconds later, there is the sounding of the first trumpet, I jolted up, running as fast as my feeble legs could carry me. It can't be, it couldn't be. That is what happens when alpha is dying, three trumpets are blown in their respect and honor.

But father was ok, there was nothing wrong with him. We had just trained with him an hour ago, he was rejuvenated and enthusiastic. How? How could he be dying?

Immediately I caught sight of the houses, I took a direct corner, diving towards the palace, my home. I followed the scent, the scent of my dad. It was weak, frail, as though he was...passing away.

A second trumpet was blown, making my legs weaken as I caught sight of the pack doctor leaving the palace. When our eyes met, they were filled with sadness, pure horror, and uncertainty. Tears pricked my eyes, stripping off my jacket immediately and throwing it over the floor, I entered the palace and ran towards the stairs. The living room was full, packed with members I had not even seen before.

"Isabella!'' my best friend called out, standing at my father's door, a look of disappointment on her face.

"I'm sorry!''Milly said, tears cascading down her rosy cheeks as she brought her hand towards my shoulder.

I avoided the affection, kicking the door open and moving past her. My heart was racing, tears blinding me as I stepped into my father's bedroom and caught sight of something I was not sure I could comprehend.

"Father" I whispered shakily, eyes raking over his body, resting on his comfy mattresses and sheets.

His body, his skin, he was turning pale....white.

Confusion struck me again, looking around expecting an explanation that would make sense.

"Bella..'' father said, lifting his hand weakly to capture mine.

He was dying, I could feel. I could feel our souls detaching like he was going into another realm.

"Dad...wh..what happened?'' I asked, tears finally falling down my cheeks. The sight broke my heart, he was the only one I had, the only family I had left.

"What happened is not what's important here Bella, you have to guard this kingdom. Rule it with wisdom and diligence. Use knowledge when it comes to solving cases. You need to be strong, it won't be easy, but you are now Alpha.'' His words are heavy, he tries to smile, but I read the sadness behind that expression. He can not die, not right now when I have not even found a mate. How would I rule the pack alone? Without him by my side.

"NO! You can't die, I won't have anyone else, please father. Fight it, fight whatever this is. The ..d. Doctor. The pack doctor, where is he?" my voice is shaky, it's breaking.

No one around is moving, no one is saying a thing.

"Don't just stand there, find the doctor,'' I scream at the warrior standing at the door. I feel like I'm losing it, like I have nothing to do other than scream.

My father squeezes my hand causing me to look back at him.

"There is nothing he can do, I have already accepted fate, you do the same Bella..'' he says again, looking me in the eye.

I always love his nickname for me, when he calls me Bella. It was my mother's name and dad named me after her, in her memory.

"I can't do this without you,'' I say in a defeated tone, sitting beside him on the bed as I take his hand more firmly in mine. His skin is running cold, freezing.

"You can and you will!! You are Isabella Montez, nothing can defeat you. You are strong. You are fearless. You are just like your mother.''

"You have a warrior's spirit in you, You are An Alpha's daughter. You can do this,'' he says.

"What about the hybrids lurking in the border?'' I take the initiative to ask, feeling my world slip into nothingness.

"I fear they are planning an attack, you must fight back Isabella, fight with everything you have. HYBRIDS AND WEREWOLVES CAN NEVER BE ONE!''

"Maybe they do not want war, maybe they want peace. Perhaps it's not about fighting. They want to come to an understanding father if we only we became rational..''

There it was again, the cold shiver running over his skin. Next, he is coughing, coughing...blood!

"FIGHT THE HYBRIDS ISABELLA! DO NOT LET THEM CONTAMINATE OUR BLOODLINE!''

Those were the last words he said before he fell back on the bed. Movement seized, silence took over.

"Isabella MaryAnn Montez, you are hereby the Alpha of MoonLight pack.''

My heart broke in half, hearing the last trumpet be blown, I knew it was my undoing. He was dead, father was dead.

The last words he left were orders to fight the hybrids.

But why? Why did I feel connected to them instead?

Chapter 2 two

"My Alpha, the council is set up, they would like to have a word with you.'' My beta, who so happened to be my best friend said to me.

Just like my father had died a week ago, and I assumed the full position of Alpha, my best friend was the daughter of my father's second-in-command. She was supposed to take over the position immediately after I stepped onto the throne. The death of my father had been a shock to everyone in the park. It was mysterious and there was no specific reason why the doctor was able to pinpoint the cause of his death. I still suspect that it wasn't natural because he was completely fine an hour before his sudden death. I'm running a private investigation to try and figure out who was with him minutes before he died or who served him his meal. For some reason, I feel as though I should not be trusting the people around me.

I have become more paranoid and agitated. Every time I sit down to eat my food, I have to get someone to taste it, specifically, the person who prepared it. I have become conscious of my surroundings and I cannot help that little feeling inside me that perhaps the hybrids had attacked indirectly. What if they had paid someone to poison my father's food that day? Perhaps father was right with his suspicions. The hybrids were lurking across our borders because they are planning an attack on us. To steal our territories and gain authority over our Park. I was not going to let that happen. I am now the Alpha and I would be putting the needs and responsibilities of my Park before my own.

"What exactly might they want?'' I asked, feeling extremely annoyed. I hated meetings with the council whenever my father drugged me to them. They were always disrespectful and felt that they had a touch over the park. Just because they were a bunch of elders who lived in the park for more than 100 years did not mean that they had the power to make decisions against the alpha. Even though he was also respected in a pack, the Council was more like the board that would advise the alpha on the decisions that he will take both politically and in his personal life.

In my case, I knew the trouble I would come across because they had never been a female Alpha in the history of werewolves. They would expect me To find a mate as soon as possible or be paired off to an alpha of another pack. I did not want this for myself. I wanted to remain strong and rule the park just like my father had taught me.

" I think you and I both know what they want,'' Milly responded, losing the hard expression as she moved forward and sat across my dining table.

"They want me to find a mate don't they,'' I say, anger laced in my voice as I turned around.

''Yap!'' Milly Responded in an obvious tone, picking up an apple that had been situated inside the bowl of fruits placed in the middle of the dining room table.

" you sure as hell eat anything you find,'' I said in a sarcastic tone.

" what? You think the Apple might be poisoned again?'' she says in a joking manner. up until now I still feel the same sensitivity having such a discussion with anyone.

" No one said about poison,'' I reply in an apprehended tone.

" Come on Isabella, rumors are spreading around the park about how you have become paranoid and ruthless. You have sent back almost 17 meals in one night just because they were not cooked to your satisfaction. Other than that, they know how you order your chefs to taste a meal before you have it. They say that you are a weak Alpha, that you should be more concentrated in finding an alpha mate other than stopping yourself from getting killed.'' Her words cause irritation and anger inside me. I feel that no one has a right to decide whether I am weak or strong.

My ways of mourning should not be in line with theirs. They should not stand by and wait to judge me according to my weaknesses and my strengths. I have covered up my emotions and manned up. I might be 21 but I was still not ready to be an alpha. My dreams are something way different than politics but I would not be letting my father's Legacy fall to the ground. I needed to be a great alpha.

"Stand up!'' I said using my alpha voice. I watched as Milly Jolted up immediately, standing attention as she looked at me with a confused expression. I had to be tough. I was not going to let anyone have it easy. I needed to take on my full responsibilities as the alpha of Moonlight Park, my pack.

"You will not address me as Isabella, I am your Alpha. If you are to use my name, let it be accompanied by my title first, Am I clear Beta Milly?'' I asked. I knew that she could not resist and neither could she object to it. The voice that I had used carried all authority and dominance.

"Yes, alpha Isabella.''

A satisfied grin danced on my lips has revealed the power and respect I got for being an alpha. Even if leadership is not something I loved, it was something in my blood.

"ALPHA!'' and there it was again, the messages that are always sent through the entire park but directed to me. Something was wrong, I could tell that something was wrong with our security system. Being an alpha meant that I was linked to all the borders and the territories of our Park. If anyone was close to them or waged war against them, then I would feel it in my blood.

"WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! THE HYBRIDS HAVE ATTACKED THE PACK BORDERS!''

Chapter 3 three

When it came to battle, My father and I had taught the warriors enough skills in combat and we had studied the weaknesses of the hybrid. We have not fought the hybrids one-on-one. this was the first time that the pack was being Attacked by hybrids. We were a powerful park in the world, our fame had traveled far and wide? We had brought down kingdoms conquered territories and finished all the other werewolf packs that came against us. We however had never gone against the hybrids because they have never started a war against us. They were simply just watching.

Studying as from the far and calculating their mission. Right now, the shock that registered on my face when I discovered that the hybrids attacked our borders was something hazardous. I did not think they would do it. Especially a week after the death of my father. Perhaps they thought that I was a weak alpha and that penetrating our borders and the security I had already put in place was going to be easy. Thank god my father had taught me right and he had already trained me to always stay alert.

"Every warrior should stay prepared for battle. The ones guarding the border, make sure our defense system is not infiltrated. When you catch sight of the first hybrid, attack as soon as possible. Do not show mercy. I repeat, do not show any mercy! Attack to kill.'' My orders were clear. I knew that we could never win a battle if we let our good hearts speak for us. The hybrids are going to be ruthless.

They possess abilities more powerful than us. Hybrids were a combination of Vampires, werewolves, and witches. This means that they had the power to cast spells against it, turn into werewolves or vampires if they wished. I had silver Blades prepared that were handed out to every warrior as they prepared for battle. Silver is always a weakness for vampires.

"What do we do Alpha?'' Milly asked in a voice full of panic.

"Grab your combat, we are fighting this war,'' I responded, pulling open the drawer as I removed the crest my father always carried whenever he fought.

"Let's go, Milly!'' I shouted, heading towards the door. There was no response, she was quiet.

When I turned around, I was shocked to see Milly's stance weakening. She was toppling over the table.

I hurried towards her, grabbing her before she hit the floor.

"That apple..'' she said shakily, causing me to look towards the Apple that she has dropped on the floor. it had now turned a deeper shade of black clearly showing the outcomes of Witchcraft. I was right. My father's death was not natural and they had made their attempt to take me out as well.

" You are going to be okay. I will get the pack doctor right here soon as possible. You have to be strong for me beta, we are fighting a war right now, and I cannot be with you.`` I said unto her.

Her skin was already turning pale, but she was still warm.

When I left her side, I heard the faint whisper of my name. The poison was traveling fast.

"Isabella, kill those bastards,'' Milly said to me, making me smile a little despite her health condition. She was always feisty and tough.

"The doctor is on his way, you are going to be alright"

Even though I said those words to encourage her, with so much confidence and faith in my voice, I could not help but understand that possibility that she could not survive. she had eaten the apple and I now suspect that it was the same Lethal Weapon used to kill the Alpha; my dad.

"All members of the pack, the apples are poisoned. Don't eat the apples. WARRIORS! The hybrids should be stopped at all cost, do not let them start a war until I get there.'' I wanted to be there to witness the hybrids cast the first stone. My father had taught me enough about peace. He told me that we should never start a war if we do not have faith in winning.

I needed to make sure that my pack members did not throw the First Punch.

"My Alpha! It's the Hybrid King, he wants a meeting with you!''

The voice of the commander had me startled. A meeting?

Why would the hybrid King want a meeting with me? That question plagued my mind over and over again. It was not possible. It had to be a trap. The hybrids were responsible for my father's death and now the deadly illness stuck in the veins of my best friend.

I had never even seen the hybrid King in my life. There were only rumors about him. He had attacked all the other park's exempt hours. He had conquered them but he let them rule on their own. All you needed to do was exert his dominance and authority and show every werewolf that he indeed was the ruler of us all. for some reason, he had never attacked our Park.

He conquered all the other packs except ours. there had to be a trick, he must have been planning something. but how would I ever know, if I didn't attend this meeting of his? These are the kinds of decisions that leave me feeling stranded. Father had left Pacific instructions never to collaborate with the hybrids. But did we stand a chance? We could fight their vampire and werewolf sides but could never win against their witch form. Look at what they had done, I didn't know how many people in my park were poisoned by the apples by now. There had to be an antidote. What he was doing right now was fighting this war indirectly. I needed to make that decision even though I know that my people could never agree with me.

"Very well, tell him I am set to arrange a meeting.''

There was silence at the other end, doubt. People doubted my decision.

"Tell him that he should come alone, and I will come alone!''

There it was, the words that turned my life around forever.
