Mated To A Human

As Melody Johnson walked the little distance from her house to school her head was down as she was lost in thoughts. It is her last year in high school.

Will she ever be able to go to college like other kids? Of course she knew that it was impossible. Her father would never allow her to go to college not that she even have the money to go anyways

It was a good thing that they have been able to stay in the town for over a year now. Right from the time she knew how to speak she knew that her father was always traveling with her and her mother. They never stayed in a town for more than three months before her father whisk them off to another town so it was really a miracle she and her father have been able to stay in county vee for a year now.

As Melody walked through the hallway of her school she could hear students talking about how eventful their summer was and she felt envious. She spent her summer working three part-time jobs to be able to put food on the table but still nothing she did ever seemed to satisfy her father.

Nobody paid her any attention and Melody was really grateful for that and she hopes that her last year in school will be a little bit peaceful, that is if Madison........

" Look who we have here" a shrill and high pitched voice called loudly making everyone in the hallway to fall silent

" Missy Melody Johnson wow who would have thought that we will see each other again" Madison said sarcastically

Melody felt chill run down her spine. For some unknown reason Madison hates her and always took it on herself to make life miserable for her.

Melody acted like she didn't hear anything and kept on walking with her head down but Madison was having none of it. She sneered and marched to Melody's front and blocked her way.

" Am talking to you or did you go deaf during the holidays Missy or did your foolish father slap you again till you became deaf?"

All the students in the hallways roared with laughter. In Prema's high school the strong ruled the weak. Madison was the leader of the cheerleaders and the School queen bee. She was known to be nasty and everyone feared her. Her father was a leader and the mayor in the community hence she got away with so many things.

The bell in the hallway rang and students quickly hurried to their classes.

" Seems like you have some good luck this year huh?" Madison asked before she sauntered off to her class.

Melody sighs in relief as she watches Madison walk away. Maybe she really did have some luck this year and hoped that the luck would last for the whole year. She adjusted her big glasses and hurried to her first class. Mr Thompson hates lateness and she did not want to garner any unnecessary attention to herself this year.

When it was lunchtime Melody quickly took her backpack and rushed to the library. That was the only place in the school that she couldn't be bullied. The librarian Mrs Simpson was feared by all students and everyone obeyed her because no one wanted to spend their break time dusting dirt off the books in the library.

Mrs Simpson liked Melody so no one dared to bully her in the library or you would face Mrs Simpson's wrath.

Melody was very close to the library when a shadow jumped out of nowhere and blocked her way.

" Running away huh? " Madison smirked and Melody visibly shuddered

" Are you also dumb now? Am talking to you raised your head up" Madison yelled but still Melody refused to raise her head up. She did not want anyone to see her bruised face.

Her face was bruised and swollen from her father's slap. He slapped her this morning because she spilled some water on the table when she wanted to give it to him.

Madison stretched her hand out with the intention of yanking Melody's head up when the library opened and Mrs Simpson came out.

" What is going on here?' Mrs Simpson asked with a loud voice and everyone scrambled off including Madison

Melody's shoulder slumped down in relief as she was able she escape again. Maybe she really has found some luck this year. She just hoped that the luck would last.

" Melody honey I've told you to stop allowing people to step on you. Madison is a girl like you, you should learn how to defend yourself" Mrs Simpson told Melody and she nodded vigorously like she always does any time Mrs Simpson tells her the same thing.

"Come on in" The both of them went back into the library and melody stopped when she got to Mrs Simpson table. A business magazine was lying on the table.

" Can I borrow this?" Melody lifted her head a little bit and peered at Mrs Simpson

" Of course and you can take it" she really likes Melody but she didn't know what challenge the little girl was facing at home for her to be the way she is.

She was way different from other teenage girls and she is just eighteen. She has been monitoring Melody since she moved with her father to their little town.

The little girl was always putting on hideous clothes, her head was always down when she walked,she worked at least four to three part time jobs but she was very brilliant.

" Thanks Mrs Simpson" Melody said in her tiny melodic voice as she picked up the magazines and walked to her favorite place at one corner of the library which was out of everyone's sight.

The picture of the guy at the front of the business magazine had her pausing. The guy was wearing a black suit, he looked very handsome and wealthy. He had a girl clinging to his arm.

The girl was very beautiful with the right curves and a megawatt smile

" The most eligible bachelor"

Melody read out. He was really eligible. She flipped through the magazine until the bell was runged.

She put the magazine in her bag and rushed to her next class.

" Melody dad is home" a man with a very haggard look called as he pushed open the door of his house and walked in.

Melody's heart rate increased as she quickly turned on the camera but she didn't answer the man because she knew that he was already on his way to her room.

" Melody" The man's voice thundered when he didn't get a reply. " Now where is that foolish girl? '' he muttered staggering drunkenly to his daughter's room.

" You can't hide, darling, come out. Don't play hide and seek or daddy will be angry"

Mr Johnson pushed open Melody's door " there you are my baby girl are you not going to welcome daddy" he said playfully with a sadistic smile.

Melody was crouched in a corner of her room. Her body was shaking as her father staggered towards her. She knew he was going to do it again. He was going to rape her like he always did since her mother died when she was five.

" You stupid girl come here" her father slurred when he saw her huddled In a corner.

When she refused answer him he walked to her and jerked her up flinging her to the bed and throwing himself on her.

All through as her father raped her Melody did not make a sound she only turn her head to face the camera. She has learnt long ago not to fight with him because at the end of everything he will still overpower her.

Her life was like a routine. Wake up, go to school, get bullied, go to her partime jobs, cook dinner, get raped at the end of the day.

She was tired of her life. She would have put an end to it a long time ago but any time she remembers the promise she made to her mother she stops herself but still she does not know how long she will last before she is completely broken.

If only she could go to the city then maybe her life will be a little bit easier. Just a little bit and her money will be complete. She will be able to maybe get a job as a waitress in a hotel.

She plans to run away but that will be after turning her father in.

He has to pay for everything!!.

" So these are the pictures of the little town"

Hunter looked down at the pictures his beta placed on his desk. He was planning on building a recreation center and his beta told him about a little town in county vee.

He picked up the pictures and examined them. This was exactly what he wanted. Green land, good scenery, a place one can relax and forget about his or her sorrow.

" Prepare the jet we will check this place out tomorrow"

" Yes Alpha" Beta Micheal released the breath he was holding when he dropped the pictures on Hunter's desk.

They have been checking out different lands for monthly but none of them was to his liking. This outback town was suggested to him by his mate and wife thank God the alpha likes it.

Hunter stood up from his swivel chair and slipped his hands into his pocket as he walked to the big glass window which oversee the busy city.

He presented a picture of loneliness.

He was already twenty eight but he is yet to find his mate. He has everything he wants. Money, House's, cars and everything to live the rest of his life well but he had no one to share it with and it makes his chest hurt just thinking about it. He is the CEO of one of the largest co-operation.

After his father gave him the company and made him the Alpha of their pack his father took off with his mother and they traveled from country to country to see places in the world. His baby sister already found her mate so she moved to his pack with him since he is an alpha.

Why was he so unlucky? He finds all his hobbies boring now. There was no fun for him in the world, all he wanted was his mate.

"Where are you?" He murmured

He has traveled to different packs to find his mate, still nothing.

His wolf curled up in his head. Both of them were lonely and sad.

The next day a private jet took off from a private airstrip. Inside the jet Hunter was seated opposite his Beta Micheal who was reading out the schedule for the day.

" We are going to be staying at the best hotel in the town. It's not much but we can manage it but if you don't like it we can stay outside the town and ........" Micheal was saying

Hunter locked out Micheal's voice as he stared through the little window at the blue sky outside the jet.

He does not want anything except his mate. Damn the project and every other thing. He needed a spark and he could get that with only his mate.

'Mate don't want to come' his wolf whine unhappily

" She will buddy" Hunter told his wolf

" Mr Hunter can you pls put on your seat belt we are about to land" The feminine voice of the air hostess called out to him

" Alpha?" Michael called when Hunter did not say anything but continued to stare outside the window "Alpha '' Micheal called again but this time in a louder voice.

Hunter walked out of the jet buttoning up his suit. He walked to a black car and got in with Michael.

The driver drove off from the airport and came to a stop in front of a hotel after an hour of bumpy ride.

Hunter was sure that his bones would have been broken by now if he wasn't a wolf. He would have complained if not that he liked everything he saw on the way. The scenery took his mind off so many things it was really peaceful.

Hunter took in a deep breath as he walked out of the hotel's bathroom. The hotel was not to his taste at all everything was poor he have never been to anywhere like this in his entire twenty eight years of existence.

He opened his suitcase that was lying on the bed and picked out a blue jeans trouser and a white shirt.

Hunter looked at himself in front of the mirror and smooths out his shirt before walking out of his room.

A strong scent of apples hit Hunter's nose as he walked down the hotel stairs making him halt. The scent was hard to ignore. His wolf began to run round in his head happily. Fighting to come out.

Hunter's eyes widened; he could not believe it. His mate is here in this hotel? He looked around the little hotel was crowded with women. How was he supposed to find his mate? If only this was a wolf pack he would have changed into his wolf.

Hunter began to panic as his mates scent began to get distant. He scanned the hotel quickly and his eyes came to a stop at the door. Three women were walking out or is one of them a boy?.

One of them is his mate!!

Hunter ran down the stairs quickly as he measured them up. Two were full grown women and they were dressed to the nines while one was a teenager? He couldn't tell because he/she was putting on a big trouser with a big sweater that had a hoodie.

He dismissed him/her and ran after the two women they were talking and laughing. One of them was his mate and she is human.

He does not mind as long as he gets a mate.

The person in the hood lifted his/her head up a little just to check for any oncoming vehicle before crossing the road and walking round a corner the person disappeared out of sight.

" Excuse me?" Hunter called in a sharp voice making the two women to stop talking and turn around to face him

The scent have vanished

What's going on? Did he just lose his mate?

" Hello handsome you want something?" One of the women asked in a sultry voice

" Anna stop that " the second woman said as she looked at the man in front of them he looked lost " how can we help you Mr?"

" Don't worry am sorry for stopping you ladies"

Hunter backed away from them and rushed in the direction of the person that was putting on a hoodie. She must be a lady. He saw her cross the road before he chased the other women.

After running for a long time and still not catching a whiff of her scent Hunter stopped devastated.

Did he just meet his mate and lose her at the same time?

" Damnit!!" Hunter swore ignoring the eyes people were giving to him.

" Damnit" a little boy who heard what Hunter said repeated it

" Don't say such word" his mother berated him

" But that uncle just said it" the young boy points at Hunter

The young mother marched up to Hunter " how can you swear like that in front of a little boy are you trying to spoil my kid" she screamed at Hunter

Hunter ignored the woman and walked away dejectedly with his shoulders slumped down.

" Mother fucker!!" The woman swore angrily forgetting that her son was close to her

The little boy look up at his mother " mommy what is mother fucker?" The boy not more than five years old asked innocently

The woman looked down at her son as her face redden " shut the fuck up!!!!"

Hunter walked back to his hotel room depressed and frustrated. He needed to hit something or someone to reduce the pain in his chest, no he needed his mate to reduce the pain in his chest.

How could he carelessly lose his mate like that? He was so carried away with his conclusion that one of those ladies is his mate that he didn't notice when he lost the scent.

Stupid

He was so stupid. Hunter bangs the hotel room door making the door nearly fly off its hinges and his beta who was in the room waiting for him nearly flew out through the window.

Oh God his alpha was not in a good mood!!

Hunter ignored his beta and walked to the bed and dropped down on it. If his beta wasn't there he would have curled up to lick his wounds.

" I just got my mate scent now"

Michael's eyes widened in shock. They were going to have Luna very soon? But why was his alpha not happy? Has he not been looking for his mate for a very long time?

" Are you not happy at having found your mate alpha?" Michael asked with a complex look

" I lost her"

" There are two new guys in town, they are from the city. Accordingly to the mayor the own a very big company and wants to build a recreation center here so they came to check out the lands am really excited because very soon there will be crowd coming here for vacation and the town will become open" the manager at the little cafe where Melody's does a part time job told a customer

Melody, who was cleaning a table, stopped to listen. She heard this somewhere but dismissed it because it was rare for people to come to their outback town but hearing it from her manager again made her know that the rumors are true.

Two new guys? Owner of a big company?

What If she finds this men and ask for help? Will they help her?

Melody laughed at herself mockingly. Who will help her in this world? Men can't help a lady unless they will get something in return and that's something she can't give. When her mother was alive she told her enough things about men, especially the one in the city, for her to be wary of them.

" Melody move it, customers are here, you have been at that table for over thirty minutes now" the manager yelled when she saw Melody standing close to a table with a towel hanging in her hands.

Melody broke out of her thoughts and realized that she had really been standing in one position for a long time. She turned around and saw that customers were already walking in in three's and two's.

She forced a smile and raised her head up a little bit before walking to the first group.

" Welcome to Anna's cafe, what would you like to have today?"

" This land has been in my family for hundreds of years....." The mayor was saying as he showed Hunter and Micheal the lands he wanted to sell to them to build the recreation center.

Michael was listening attentively but Hunter's mind was somewhere else. He knew that this was a small town and everybody knows everybody but he didn't know his mate's name so how will he find her?

" Mr Winthrop?" The mayor called when he saw that Hunter was no longer listening to him but had a far away look in his eyes, he seemed lost in thought.

Hunter shook his head to clear his thoughts. He needs to focus on business now and look for his mate later but could he really do it?

" Am listening to you" Hunter said

The mayor nearly snorted. How can the man say he was listening when his name has been called more than three time's yet he did not answer and when a question was thrown to him he did not answer? The mayor chose to say nothing and continue to talk.

After showing them the land the mayor decided to take them to a cafe so that they could sit and talk.

Immediately Hunter came down from his car in front of the cafe the mayor directed his beta Micheal to drive to the scent he perceived yesterday hit his nose again. Apples. Hunter sniffed the air as he followed the mayor into the cafe but stopped when he noticed that the scent was faint

His mate was in the cafe but left before he arrived.

Why was fate playing a cruel joke on him ? Dangling his mate in his front and snatching her before he could even see her face!!

He wanted to run out and trace the scent but he knew that but now the scent will be mixed with the scent of other's.

Hunter picked up the coffee that was placed in his front and took a sip, his eyes widened as his taste buds opened " who made this?" He looked up and asked the woman who brought the coffee

" You like it?" The woman was all smiles

" Yeah" Hunter nodded as he took a big gulp not minding that it was hot

" Melody made it" the woman said she makes the coffee here she left some minutes ago but just came back now you are lucky" the woman turn around and walked away

" I told you Mr Winthrop that this cafe is the best in this town

If he has someone like this in his company that makes coffee for him he won't have to drink all that tasteless coffee!! Especially the one made by Micheal!!

Hunter turns to glare at his beta making him break out in cold sweat.

Why have I done again?!!

The scent of apples hit his nose again making Hunter tense up.

'Melody made it, she makes the coffee here she left some minutes ago but just came back now you are lucky' that's what the woman who served them coffee said some

She left before he entered and came back after he was seated?

Is Melody his mate?!!!
