Master's Dearest

Ashley's POV

Hours after I slept, I heard a loud noise from my sleep. I was pissed off but still didn't wake up because I was so exhausted. I kept on hearing voices screaming and running. It felt like everywhere was upside down . What was in my head was I had a horrible nightmare,it made me scared, so I jumped off bed realizing the loud sound was an emergency siren.

"what's going on?" I asked myself. I was panicking with sweat all over my forehead. From the balcony I could see many houses in the city, being at the upper level of the mansion. I heard and saw people screaming and running. I shook as I stood,my body began to shiver.

I had no idea about what to do.I ran to my mom's room. I knocked about three times, yelled her name but she was still sleeping. I burst through the door , the fact that nobody was awake with the noises and chaos that was going on really pissed me off.

"Mom! Wake the fuck up" I screamed, as I barged into her room.

She woke up spontaneously like she was in shock.

"Why would you wake me up, banging on the door like that?" She panicked as she held her chest, breathing heavily.

Her phone was ringing. I was very anxious to hear what the call was about since It was the security that had called.she picked it up and put it on a loudspeaker.

The security's voice was breaking like he was also in a panic, it made my heart race even faster, to be very honest my heartbeat could actually compete with a moving train. He finally broke the news, "Vampires are on the loose!".

My mom tapped my dad to wake up.

"Vampires are attacking the city" she screamed as she was trembling in fear.

My dad's brows narrowed as he jumped off the bed, " what did you just s...?" ," Vampires are attacking the city!!", she said, cutting him off.

Not so long after, we heard noises at the gate, "they-they-they're here" my dad said in fear.

He hurried to Bran's room to get him. We all stayed together in my parent's room racking our heads on what to do. Then my dad suggested he should carry Bran while my mom should take Alan through the back door at the kitchen while they go find somewhere secure for us all.

The Vampires have been attacking the city of Guerrero for a long time now, killing humans countlessly and our mayor himself had been captured and taken away as a slave, so we aren't under a shield or protection.

" Hide in the closet, we want to look for a safe place,we are coming by very soon to take you with" my dad said with a very sad and tense look.

"No," I shouted in fear. Luckily,the door was soundproof so I didn't attract the Vampires' attention. "Sweetheart, we don't have an option here," my mom said as she was weeping.

I had never in my life felt that heartbroken, it felt like my whole world was coming to an end. I felt like that was the last time I was ever going to see all of them. I went to my baby brother Alan and kissed his forehead as tears rolled down my cheeks and I hugged bran telling him I love him so much.

My parents watched me as I entered the closet. My mom kissed my forehead, " baby I'll come for you I promise", she said,as she closed the closet. I heard them as they were tiptoeing and whispering till I could no longer hear them again.

I was just really hoping and waiting for my parents to come and take me along. I had lots of thoughts as I was hiding in the closet. About ten minutes later, I heard them forcefully barge into the room. I was really hoping a miracle could happen that could make me just disappear.

I heard them searching the room and taking valuables.

" Search in there too", I heard one of the Vampires say ,"Could they be coming this way?" I asked myself in fear as I sneezed very slowly. I tend to sneeze when I'm nervous, it's something I have never been able to control.

I was not sure they heard me sneeze, but there's one thing I was so certain about was that if they actually did hear me scream ,I'm gone . I was very worried because, even if it didn't make so much noise for me, vampires have very sharp hearing. It was almost so impossible to hide from them. All that was left to do was prepare myself mentally and emotionally. There was absolutely nothing to be done anymore.

"It was such a dumb idea for them to leave me here" I thought, as hot tears rolled down my cheeks. After a few seconds, I didn't hear them come towards my direction, so I was relieved that they didn't hear me.

"Do you smell something?" One of the Vampires asked.

"Yes, I smell blood," another Vampire replied. I could hear him chuckle as he said it.

"Let's search this whole room, those humans think they're so smart". Another Vampire added.

I didn't know what to do. I was wishing I could just disappear or the ground could open up and swallow me. I was so stuck, confused and scared at the same time.

They started tracing the smell of the blood and they kept coming closer towards my direction.

Their feet kept getting louder and louder, then finally suddenly it stopped.

"Mmmmnnnn interesting," one of them said.

I tried to figure out why they hadn't opened the cupboard yet and what could be so interesting that could have distracted them.

"We have got enough stuff already. This is enough" one of them said.

I was so relieved and it felt like I was given a second chance to live again.

I heard their footsteps as they walked out of the door, then I waited till everywhere was extremely silent.

"Phew" I sighed. I could finally talk and breathe as loudly as I wanted.

I pushed away the clothes I was buried in, then I opened the closet and went out.

My eyes were twitching as they tried to adjust to the light.

I was tired and dizzy so I sat on the bed to get myself straight, immediately I laid down,I felt a hand on my shoulder.

Chapter two

"Bingo! Hide and seek is over now". A vampire said, licking his fangs and smiling. The rest of them came out from where they had hidden. There were about six of them.

I really didn't know what to even feel like or what to do. I didn't know how to react to the reality I was facing. It felt like a dream or an imagination. I just froze.

"Lord please this isn't real, I beg you" I said in my head as I shut my eyes.

"You think you're so smart, huh? You really felt like you outsmarted Vampires". One of the Vampires said, as he grabbed me by my throat and lifted me up, causing me to choke.

"We saw you were really interested in the game of hide and seek so we decided to play with you", another continued.

I couldn't say anything because I was really choking, I couldn't even plead.

"Leave her, are you nuts? She will die!" a vampire yelled. It felt like he was superior to all of them.

He released his hands while I was up in the air, so I fell very hard and hit my head on the floor, then the side of my head started to bleed.

"How dare you!" the superior said, grinning at his teeth and slapping him.

"Nobody here has the right to do anything to her, only the mayor will decide her fate. If anyone here lays another finger on her, I'll end that person", he added.

"She's so adorable, Hazel's eyes are very rare and her hair is blonde just like my hair too". One of them said

They took me outside and ordered me to hop into the limo they had brought. They brought about eight limos and each of them was filled with the slaves they had captured and about two Vampires in each of them.

I was at the side of the limo,close to the window as they were driving. I was trying to take my last view of the city, my heart was so filled with bitterness. My mom had promised to take me with her, but instead vampires are taking me. Tears went down my cheeks as I saw dead bodies as we were leaving the city. Later, the clouds were getting darker and finally we arrived at our destination.

I started reminiscing all they had said about the mayor of the city, Sangre, the city where the Vampires live. They said he was very strict and wicked and he was the one going to decide our fate.

All I was hoping for was to be spared. I always wanted a long life, but it's clearly not possible anymore. I have heard how Sangre's mayor kills humans. He uses his claws to scrape their skin all over, then suck them till they die.

"What kind of torture could be worse than this," I thought to myself with a great sigh.

I have also heard the mayor hates humans from Guerrero more than he hates other humans from other cities. It feels like I'm also going to be tortured to death because the Vampires inform him where they captured each human from.

I tried to get myself ready emotionally before facing the evil Mayor and trying to accept the fact that I was going to be tortured to death.

The Vampire's city was a very beautiful one , it would have been best for adventure, but that's if you came out of there alive.

They instructed us to get down and follow them.They neither tied our legs nor our hands, still nobody could dare try to escape. Vampires are a hundred times faster than we humans.

I stared at the mansion as I was walking into it, still struggling with my emotions and thoughts about how I'd be dead in a few minutes. From the gate before walking into the main house there was a very large circular pool decorated with light.

"Wow, Vampires swim too," I said very softly to myself.

"Yes, we do have fun too," a vampire replied . I was very shocked about two things.I was shocked about him hearing me and him responding to me so nicely, but his opinion didn't really matter. The mayor was going to kill me anyway.

Just the walk from the gate to the hall took about ten minutes, finally we got there at last ,"phew" I sighed, breathing heavily.

In the hall, there were about fifty vampires. One was sitting on a golden seat at the center of the hall. That was definitely the mayor. He didn't even seem like he was in a good mood to pardon anyone. There were two vampires standing next to him, one on the left and the other on the right.

I caught a cold in the car because I wasn't wearing a coat to warm my body, so I was sneezing uncontrollably. Everyone was quiet, waiting for the mayor to break the silence and speak . I was about to sneeze but I tried my very best to hold it in because I knew just that sneeze would invite death and pain to me.

I held my nose with my thumb and index, pinning the nostrils together in order to control the sneeze, but unfortunately for me, I couldn't hold it any longer. I unconsciously released my hand and made a very loud sneeze that caught the mayor's attention.

"Lord, I know this is my last day on earth, please make my soul rest peacefully", I prayed in my mind as hot tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Who was that?!" The mayor yelled.

I stepped forward, bowing and gluing my eyes to my feet.

"Where did you take her from?" He asked one of the Vampires.

"She's from the city of.. Guerrero" The Vampire replied.

"Hmmmmmnnnnn...." He smiled showing his fangs.

"Nice eyes huh, so bright and attractive" He said in an extremely sarcastic manner as he stood from the chair and walked closer to me.

He used his claws to rip off my cloth at the back, piercing through my skin.

I groaned in agony, I was in severe pain, the pain was just too unbearable for me to be mute.

He was about to press his fangs on my neck

"STOP!!". A deep and resonant voice commanded, leaving everyone's mouth in the hall wide opened. "who is this man that had the guts to command the mayor". I thought in my head.

Chapter 3

Caden's POV

"Stop it dad, as the first born, I have a right to do this too. I want to know what it feels like to drink blood while skinning a human". I said

After hearing that, she looked terrified and I could hear her heartbeat race. She couldn't even cry, she was too sad and weak to cry or even react to what was happening.

I grabbed her arms tight and dragged her out of the mansion into my black Lamborghini.

"I promise you, you'll be fine. I am not killing or skinning you, I'd rather make you work as my servant ". I assured her

"Thank you so much for sparing my life" she thanked me, without any hesitation.

"It's okay you are still young , you deserve to live and I couldn't watch that happen to you". I replied.

"The name is Caden, you don't need to call me master", I said.

" Al-al-alright master Caden" I said , covering her mouth with her hands, realizing she had just repeated what I corrected her about.

"It's okay you just have to stay calm and get used to me". I said with a smirk.

She looked very worried and disturbed. I noticed the tears that were held back in her eyes as she was trying to hide them.

"Is everything okay with you?" I asked,

"Yes Master!" She replied, trying to make her face as straight as possible in order to make sure I didn't notice she was sad.

"Alright if you insist, just be fine and if you need anything I'm here for you". I replied but I was convinced something was very wrong.

She nodded her head, responding to what I said..

We arrived at the mansion, then I took her to my room and immediately searched for my first aid box to clean up the injury she had on her back. Then I took out a cotton wool and an iodine container.

"This will hurt but try your best to endure it" I said as I dipped the cotton Into the container.

"Take off your shirt". I continued.

Her eyes widened like I had just said something very absurd.

She reluctantly took it off and backed me

He carefully dressed the wounds but I couldn't stop groaning in pain. The pain was so unbearable so I couldn't be silent.

I had finished the dressing already but the pains were still there. She couldn't stop groaning, then I gave her a pill of pain killers.

Immediately I was done with her, I went straight to the bathroom to shower.

I got out of the bathroom to look for my hair brush, then I noticed Ashley was looking towards me but she was lost in thought, so i walked towards her and snapped my fingers at her face.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

"I-I-I am so-so-sorry, I didn't mean to look at you" she said with fear all over her face.

I had to calm her down, "Hey, Ashley, take a deep breath, yes I'm a vampire but I'm not going to eat you or pluck your eyes out, you're my slave and also my friend". I said, hoping she would be cool after she heard the word FRIEND.

"Sir did you just call me friend?" ,she said, in an excited manner.

" Yes I did, you get to get what you want. I'll take care of you as long as you don't ever disobey me", I assured her.

"Disobey? Never! I'll always obey you and do as you say" she said, as she looked up to me.

"Okay good" I said , grabbing my hairbrush from the bed.

As soon as I was done dressing up in the closet, I told Ashley to have her bath too, I gave her the clothes I wanted her to wear because yeah I love my stuff looking like mine.

Ashley was done bathing, then she wore the gown I had given her to wear, something very free that wouldn't make the wounds hurt more and would let air enter it.

"Ashley, come here and let me style your hair for you. I want you to look perfect with the dress", I said to her in a very low and friendly tone.

"Alright master" she said, as she walked slowly towards me looking so curious.

I told her to sit on the dressing chair in front of the mirror, then after she sat, I brushed her hair and oiled it so I could brush it, I styled the hair into a ponytail and I cut out a part of her hair at the front to make a fringe. Then I put a purple bow on top. She looked perfect to me. The purple matched the blonde her hair color was.

"Let's go and have dinner" I said, pointing my hand at the door, gesturing that she should get up.

Then she stood up and followed me. The dining hall was a bit more noisy than usual, probably because they had all changed their slaves but I decided to ignore it. Slaves weren't allowed to sit with us at the table, but our personal slaves had their own table separately and they weren't allowed to talk to each other..

Leo was sitting beside me at the dining table, " You told dad you wanted to skin her , so what's she doing here?" He asked.

I was obviously annoyed with his question because I hate people poking their noses at my business.

"That's my problem and not yours, so mind your business" I said, in a very harsh tone.

" Bro chill I was just asking, I was just asking" he said, laughing as he sipped his glass of blood.

He didn't see I was in a serious mood, but anyway, I changed the topic.

"How about your business?" I asked with my mood totally changing from anger to normal.

Ashley wasn't comfortable so she took her food and went back to the room.

When I was done eating, I headed back to the room. It was already late. I met Ashley on the balcony. She was very depressed .

" What are you doing here alone, looking so depressed?" I asked, with so much concern.

"I-I-I- I am uh-uh it's nothing" she muttered .

"It's okay, you can talk to me. I promise I will neither harm nor hurt you" I said, reassuring her.

She let out a great sigh , then she started talking.

"I just miss my family. I don't even know if they're dead or alive. I don't know what condition they are in , I don't know if I'm ever going to see them again. I don't know whether to raise or drop my hopes. I'm just so lost" she said, as she burst into tears.

" Everything will be fine, I promise", I said, as I didn't know how to console her more than that.

" Do you mind telling me more about you?" I asked, because I was curious to know.

"I am eighteen years old, my full name is Ashley Ross and I love music and dancing a lot"

" Yeah good but I'm not really a fan of music anyways, I don't really like loudness either" I was very bored already and sleepy too, so I just wished Ashley a goodnight sleep, hoping she'd sleep after I did.

My eyes started to open gradually as the early morning light filtered through the curtains into my eyes, then I stretched my limbs to work out the kinks from a long night sleep.

I got up and then I saw Ashley on the velvet couch a bit next to my drawer. She was still sleeping. Of course she was still worked up about last night. It wasn't an easy experience for her.

I tapped her, it was 7am already. So she had to wake up,eat breakfast and do her chores,then she got up almost immediately I tapped her.

"Good morning master Caden, she said as she jumped off the couch.

"Good morning Ashley, please don't call me master again. I'm not convenient with it, I have never allowed any of my slaves to.

"Alright Caden, I'm sorry" she apologized .

"It's fine as long as you don't do it again. Let's go for breakfast" I said, with a smile on my face.

I had Leo had a conversation that reminded me of work. I checked the time, "Oh I'm running late,. Please, when Ashley is done open the door for her ,she doesn't have her face on the door to unlock it yet, so use yours", I said hurriedly.

I went to the room. I quickly dressed up for work and left, but just before I got out

I saw Leo roaming around my room door. He was looking so suspicious but I was running too late, so I decided to ignore it and left.
