Chapter 1 A PAWN OF DESTINY

"Don't! Don't touch me again, Finn! You're not my husband anymore. We're divorced!"

Rose Magenta screamed, pushing with all her strength against the broad, muscular chest in front of her.

"We'll get married again! I want you, Rose."

"Don't, Finn... I'm pregnant,"

Rose pleaded, her eyes brimming with tears.

"But I want you now!"

His heavy breath blew against her chest with intensity.

Rose's strength meant nothing-his solid body didn't even flinch, let alone move away from her weakening figure.

"Aaaakhhh!"

Her cry of pain was ignored by Finn Marck, whose eyes were clouded with uncontrollable desire.

Until-he felt her body go still. Completely still.

Then... something warm, something wet...

"Rose? Bl-blood...? Baby?! Wake up! Wake up, please! No... NO!!"

*

Rose Magenta's family company suddenly went bankrupt because her uncle Bluish committed fraud and embezzlement.

All of her uncle's family members could no longer be found because they had fled abroad.

Meanwhile, Navina, who is the daughter of Rose Magenta's uncle, was a guarantee for a loan taken by Bluish from a giant company with branches in various countries.

Bluish had promised to marry off his daughter Navina to the only son of Mr. Golden Tan, the owner of Golden Finn Group-Finn Marck.

Mr. Golden Tan deliberately sought a life companion for his son, Finn Marck, because for years Finn Marck had been too focused on his work after being betrayed by his fiancée, who left him when they were about to get married several years ago.

Knowing that Bluish had suddenly disappeared, Mr. Golden Tan was furious and searched for Bluish's relatives everywhere, until he found Bluish's older brother-Mr. Emerald, Rose Magenta's father.

"You are Bluish's older brother. You must take responsibility for all your brother's promises and accept all the consequences!"

"I am indeed Bluish's older brother, Mr. Golden Tan. But of course I can't take responsibility for what my brother did, because he also made my company go bankrupt instantly!"

Rose Magenta's father firmly rejected Mr. Golden Tan's demands. How could his beloved daughter bear it all?

"Of course you'd say that, Mr. Emerald. You don't know and haven't seen what was pledged and promised by Bluish, sealed with a stamp."

Mr. Golden Tan gave a signal to his assistant, and the assistant stepped forward.

Mr. Golden Tan's assistant opened a document and politely placed it on the table in front of Rose Magenta's father.

Mr. Emerald's eyes reddened and his jaw tightened. His hands trembled as he read what was written in the document just presented to him.

Bastard! Bluish was truly insane! From the start, he had set a trap with his cunning. And Mr. Emerald had to do this for the dignity and honor of his only daughter.

In an instant, everything changed just as Mr. Golden Tan desired.

"Very well. In that case... Rose Magenta will replace Navina."

Mr. Emerald said firmly while looking at his daughter, whose eyes widened and mouth gaped at her father's statement.

Since this afternoon, Rose Magenta had been waiting for her husband's return in their bridal bedroom. Rose Magenta held a pregnancy test in her palm with immense happiness.

Yes, her marriage to Finn Marck, which had only lasted for two months, would soon be blessed with a little baby, as Rose Magenta was now positively pregnant.

Cklek!

"Honey, you're ho-me...?"

Rose Magenta eagerly stood from her seat to welcome her husband home from work.

But suddenly, her voice caught in her throat when she saw her husband walk in with an elegant woman clinging flirtatiously to his strong arm.

The woman looked very sexy. The short dress she wore hugged her body perfectly, with full makeup that masked every wrinkle on her face-so flawless that not a single pore was visible. However, the dress was clearly too short, exposing many parts and curves that would surely tempt any man.

A sarcastic smile formed at the corner of the woman's lips, making Rose Magenta furrow her brows. A big question instantly formed in her mind.

"My fiancée has returned. We're getting divorced right now."

Finn Marck's voice was flat and casual, but for Rose Magenta, it was a disaster.

The world of happiness she had just built collapsed in an instant.

Still holding the pregnancy test result, Rose Magenta clenched it tightly.

She was frozen, stunned by her husband's words. But seeing the woman clinging flirtatiously to her husband's strong arm, Rose Magenta understood the reality she was facing.

"This is our divorce paper. Please sign it now."

Finn Marck said again as he stepped closer to Rose Magenta. He opened the document he brought and placed it on the table along with a pen.

Deg!

Rose Magenta blinked several times, trying to convince herself that what she was seeing was real and not a hallucination.

She looked again at the woman holding onto her husband's arm.

Creshh!

It was excruciating. Her heart felt like it was being pierced by thousands of thorns repeatedly.

This was the luxury apartment that had been their marital home.

Back then, Finn Marck had said it was their love palace from the moment she set foot in it.

But now her husband came home with another woman and walked straight into their bridal room?!

'What the hell?!'

Rose Magenta looked at the king-size bed that had been the silent witness to their love over the past two months.

In fact, almost every night they made love because of Finn Marck's overwhelming desire.

Even when he was rough and wild, Rose Magenta always did her best to please him.

She had never once rejected her husband during their marriage.

Even though their marriage didn't start with love, when Finn Marck welcomed her warmly and touched her body on their wedding night, Rose Magenta believed he had feelings for her.

She had decided that her husband would be her first and last man for the rest of her life.

Love had started to grow and bloom inside her, and she gave her whole heart to him.

Then... why did he suddenly turn around and want to divorce her?

Did Finn Marck really only see her as an outlet?!

Why did he accept the marriage and treat her so kindly if he never loved her?

And if there was no love, how could he make love to her so intensely-almost every time?!

. . .

Chapter 2 BRUTALLY DUMPED!

What should Rose Magenta do now?! Her husband had even brought his fiancée straight into their bridal room. That meant Rose Magenta truly had no choice at all.

"So... You want to divorce me? Have you really thought this through? Don't regret it later,"

Rose Magenta stared sharply into Finn Marck's eyes.

Finally, Rose Magenta was able to speak smoothly after organizing the words she wanted to emphasize before signing their divorce papers-papers that had already been signed by Finn Marck first.

She didn't even call him darling anymore, a term Finn Marck had insisted on since the day they got married.

"Hahaha! Of course I'll never regret it, Rose. I never loved you at all!"

Cresh!

Rose Magenta felt like her heart stopped beating, as if a sharp dagger had cruelly stabbed her chest.

She closed her eyes tightly, trying to hold back the burning pain that instantly rushed through her veins.

Her lips trembled as she fought back the pain and tears.

"Alright."

Rose Magenta slowly sat down, threw the crumpled pregnancy test carelessly under the table, and reached for the pen with her trembling hand.

Without reading the contents of the document in front of her, Rose Magenta signed it directly in the column opposite her husband's signature.

Then, she picked up her copy of the papers with a blank expression.

"Pack all your clothes and leave right now!"

Rose Magenta gasped at Finn Marck's words. Then, the corners of her lips curved into a forced smile.

She tried to smile, even though it was surely the worst smile of her entire life.

Those words truly showed that the man who said them had no conscience at all.

And Rose Magenta finally realized that for the past two months, she had been living with a devil in human form who never deserved her love.

Unfortunately, she had already given her heart and love to Finn Marck, and now she deeply regretted it.

Without saying a word, Rose Magenta walked toward the wardrobe and struggled to take down her suitcase from the top shelf.

There was no sign that Finn Marck would help her, not even to get up from the sofa where he sat with his fiancée.

He didn't even have the courage to move.

Tears began to fall down her cheeks, but Rose Magenta quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand.

She didn't want that homewrecker to see even a drop of her tears, which would only make her laugh and use it as a joke.

Everything she brought with her was packed into the suitcase.

Nothing was left behind-not even her underwear and bra that she had just washed that afternoon.

Once she was sure everything was packed, Rose Magenta took a deep breath and walked toward Finn Marck and the clingy woman he brought, who was now snuggling next to him on the luxurious sofa.

With trembling hands, Rose Magenta removed the wedding ring Finn Marck had placed on her finger two months ago, when they sat in front of the officiant and the marriage witnesses.

"Thank you,"

Rose Magenta said as she placed the diamond ring on the table in front of her husband and that clingy woman.

"Just take it. It's a cheap ring. Look at this," the woman suddenly said, holding out her left hand.

"The diamond ring from our engagement is this beautiful-how could you get such a cheap one for your wedding?"

The woman sneered with a smug smile, clearly showing how much more valuable and loved she felt by Finn Marck.

Rose Magenta knew the woman was trying to provoke her and mock her-mocking the fact that she had been dumped the moment this woman returned to Finn Marck's life.

"Do you truly love Finn?... If you did, why did you leave him for so long and come back at the wrong time?"

Rose Magenta asked calmly, though holding back her anger.

"Shut up, Rose! You know nothing and don't interfere in my private matters!"

Finn Marck snapped at Rose Magenta and stood up. He looked furious and emotional.

"Be careful. Don't let her leave you again. You might fall into the same hole twice,"

Rose Magenta replied, fully aware of the truth even though she had never seen the woman Finn had once called his fiancée.

Everyone has a past.

But Rose Magenta never expected her husband would do this to her.

"I said shut your mouth!"

Finn Marck yelled again, raising his hand. But that trembling hand just hung there in the air.

His shouting and scolding weren't the worst part.

What hurt Rose Magenta the most was seeing her husband defend the woman beside him so fiercely.

That raised hand might slap her face, and that thought made Rose Magenta feel humiliated.

It was clear how much Finn Marck loved that woman.

Rose Magenta instinctively held her still-flat belly.

She held her pain and sobs, her fragile body trembling.

Without another word, she dragged her suitcase and left-leaving behind the two people who had perfectly ruined her life.

Rose Magenta pulled her suitcase toward the main road with the strength she had left.

After walking quite far, she finally found a taxi.

Throughout the ride to her parents' house, her tears kept falling non-stop.

The pain in her chest was unbearable, and her stomach cramped.

Her mind was a complete mess.

Becoming a widow at such a young age might not be the biggest problem for Rose Magenta.

But what about the life growing inside her womb?! Should she keep it... or abort it?!

'Wouldn't that mean I'm killing my own child?! No. No. That can't happen!'

Rose Magenta shook her head, realizing how insane that thought was.

She couldn't even bear to kill an ant.

When she arrived home, Rose Magenta placed the copy of the divorce paper on the table-just as questions began pouring from her mother and father's mouths.

Emerald and Azure were stunned to see the divorce paper of their only daughter-from the man who had married her just two months ago.

Wasn't it them who insisted on the marriage back then?

Why were they suddenly divorcing her now?!

Chapter 3 RESCUED BY A STRANGER

Rose Magenta was the only daughter of Mr. Emerald. She was a young woman who was attending college. Rose Magenta majored in Architecture because she was so eager to become a skilled architect in the future. This passionate young woman had to stop her pursuit when her father's company went bankrupt overnight.

That was a fragment of Rose Magenta's life story before she had to make the most difficult decision of her life, which had now turned into her worst nightmare.

A few days after her divorce, Finn Marck withdrew all the funding he had previously agreed to provide for Rose Magenta's father's already bankrupt company. Even though everything had gone smoothly for the past two months, after the divorce, all the funding was pulled out entirely.

No need to ask, of course the company immediately shut down.

"I beg you, don't do this to my father's company. I've accepted it and let you go with her. I won't demand anything from you. But please, don't pull all your shares from my father's company," said Rose Magenta while sobbing.

Yes, today Rose Magenta went to her ex-husband's company early in the morning and waited for him in front of the lobby.

When she saw Finn Marck get out of his luxury car holding the hand of the woman he claimed was his fiancée, Rose Magenta immediately approached him and begged her ex-husband who had divorced her in haste.

"What can you demand?! You have no rights at all!" Finn Marck replied coldly.

"Yes, I know I have no rights. But please, don't do this to my family," said Rose Magenta again, and this time she began to kneel. Pleading desperately at Finn Marck's feet.

She didn't care that all the employees of her husband's company were watching her; Rose Magenta did it fully consciously for the sake of her father and mother. Even though hatred had filled every vein in her body, this was the last thing she could do for her family's well-being-and the baby inside her womb, of course.

"Move! You've wasted my precious time!"

Finn Marck immediately spoke after his fiancée pinched his arm, unwilling to let her man's long legs be touched by the hands of the ex-wife he had just divorced yesterday.

"Ah! Ssstt!"

Finn Marck shrugged off Rose Magenta's shoulder while his foot pushed her body, making her stumble and fall to the side.

"Hahaa. How pitiful, pathetic and embarrassing. Puh!" sneered the woman clinging to Finn Marck's arm, mocking her while spitting on the tearful Rose Magenta.

Creshhh!

Her heart, already deeply wounded yesterday, was now shattered into pieces beyond recognition. Even shards of glass were better than the shattered heart of Rose Magenta that had been crushed and turned numb instantly.

Clutching her still-flat stomach again, Rose Magenta narrowed her eyes sharply. She remembered clearly the date and day of the unluckiest moment of her life.

Never did she imagine that her very young daughter would become a widow at the age of just 22. Rose Magenta's mother fell ill and died two weeks after suffering mentally from everything that had happened to her only daughter and her husband's company.

Meanwhile, Rose Magenta's father had a mild heart attack after losing his wife so suddenly, and Mr. Emerald could not accept the reality of being played by his own son-in-law, Finn Marck.

Rose Magenta, who was in early pregnancy, had to bear a heavy burden in an instant. She had already lost her mother, and she couldn't bear it if she were to lose her father too.

When the love she felt for the first time in her life was repaid with cruelty, that love immediately turned into deep hatred. Harboring that hatred made Rose Magenta grow into a more mature woman and better understand the true meaning of life.

Rose Magenta immediately looked for work to support their lives and pay for her father's treatment, who often felt short of breath.

It was the third day that Rose Magenta walked the streets, going in and out of companies to apply for jobs.

Somehow, her bad luck made every company she went to have no job vacancies. They immediately rejected her application after seeing that her education ended only at high school. Or perhaps Finn Marck was behind it all? Who knows.

The disappointment from the rejections and mockery didn't break Rose Magenta's spirit. This young pregnant woman kept striving to find work, still walking with enthusiasm. Especially when she remembered that her father needed her, her fading spirit would ignite again.

This afternoon, she swallowed her disappointment once again because not a single company was willing to hire her-not even as an office girl. Thirst and hunger made her walk weakly, until she finally fainted on the roadside, causing all her job application documents clutched in her arms to scatter everywhere.

A shiny black car immediately stopped when its driver saw someone fall suddenly after crossing the road. It had nearly hit her.

It turned out that the driver of the luxury car was a man, and he immediately helped Rose Magenta.

"Miss! Miss?!" the man called, lifting his sunglasses onto his head to see more clearly.

"Hey! Take responsibility! Did you hit her?!"

Several shouts were heard from people who had stopped and gathered around.

"No! I didn't hit this lady. She fainted on her own," the man defended himself, pointing to his car wheels which were still about one meter away from where Rose Magenta had collapsed.

All eyes immediately looked and murmured, nodding their heads.

"Please pick up those scattered documents and help me open the car door. I'm taking this lady to the hospital!" the man exclaimed, immediately lifting Rose Magenta's body in his strong muscular arms.

The crowd immediately opened the car door as the man with the black sunglasses ordered.

He laid Rose Magenta in his car, then circled around it. The car immediately sped off toward the nearest hospital.
