Married to an Immortal

It was a bright sunny weekend, most people lay at the comfort of their home. Some went on to the Beach just to relax because it's summer season.

But that wasn't the same for Miss Ottilin Levine, A detective who life was centered on catching criminals and serial killers

"Sir! There are several evidence against you and I really think you should give up trying to escape!" Ottiline Levine bent and hugged her knees while looked at the Criminal that was standing at the edge of the rooftop.

"I don't want to go to jail! I only just raped them! That's because they asked for it!" the serial Rapist Victor, looked at the edge of the roof as if contemplating whether to jump down or not.

"Are you being serious right now?!" She didn't care about how tired she was and stood straight to look at the Criminal.

"Do you know what those girls are going through because of you?! They did nothing wrong! Absolutely nothing! Not only did you rape them, You posted the video online! One of them even attempted suicide and you dare to say that it is not your fault!" Ottiline took a step in a hurry but Victor stepped back again which almost made him to slip out.

"Don't take a step closer! If not I will jump!" He pointed at Ottiline and threatened.

"To be honest, I no longer want to catch you! You can go on and jump! The least thing that will happen to you is just broken bones but you will feel the pain.

When you go to jail! I want you to be tortured and dealt with just like what you did to those girls!" As she spoke she continued moving forward despite hearing the plea from Victor.

"You are a Devil!" Victor cussed at her and immediately jumped down.

Seeing that he really jumped, Ottiline rubbed her hand around her hair in frustration, "Do these guys always have to make things hard for me"

"Detective Levine, What about the Criminal?" A colleague of hers walked over and asked after seeing that she was standing alone.

"He jumped!" Ottiline replied and moved towards the edge of the Roof.

"No! No! No! Don't tell me that you are going to jump!" Nelly hurried over and tried to hold her back.

"Find out his location from the tracker I placed on his body, You can't let him escape!" Ottiline ordered and jumped down the roof Without hesitation.

"Why are you always like this?!" Nelly hurried over to look and saw that she landed safely.

"Thank Goodness, As far as I know no one is as crazy as you in the whole department" He turned around and turned on his walkie talkie.

"Find out the location of the Criminal and send some backup to Detective Levine!" He ordered and left the Roof top.

Ottiline looked around and continued chasiong the traces of the criminal until a voice came from the walkie talkie.

"Detective Levine! The Suspect has Entered a Marriage Bureau!" Nelly's voice came from the walkie talkie.

"What is he doing there?!"

"After some background checkup, He works there and must have hidden there because that's the most unlikely place that we will find him. Fortunately you put the tracker on him, if not we would have lost him" Nelly said.

"Ok. Let's catch that scum!" She took a deep breathe with a firm light in her eyes.

"Why do I feel like someone is going to be unlucky today?" Nelly muttered from the other end.

"Detective Levine, You know that you can't enter the Marriage Bureau if you are not getting married or getting divorced" Nelly reminded her as Ottiline stopped.

"How am I supposed to know, is not like ice gotten married before" She rolled her eyes and started walking towards the direction of the marriage Bureau.

"But you almost got married at that time" Nelly replied through the walkie talkie.

"Talk with you later" Ottiline placed the Walkie talkie back into her pants pockets and made her way to the civil affuaus bureau.

Getting there she stood at the door at losss for what next to do. If she brings out her card, It might startle the snake, and she is not here to get married.

"There is no harm in trying" She muttered to herself and walked into the Marriage Bureau with a confident look hoping that they will let her in.

Just as she got inside, A staff walked up to her from the side, "Miss, you must be here to get married?" The staff asked Ottiline who was taken aback for a while but Slowly nodded soon.

"I think that's the reason I'm here"

"Then what about your partner?" The staff asked her again.

"He should be on his way here."

"You must be excited that you will be getting married to the love of your life" The Staff smiled mildly at her.

"You are right, That's why I came earlier than the appointed time" Ottiline could only laugh and act along with the staff.

"Then will you like to come in and wait for him or her to come?" The staff asked her as she nodded.

"Yes, Thank you" Ottiline agreed and followed the staff to the waiting room.

Just as she got in and sat down, her phone rang, "He must be the one calling, I will excuse you" The staff smiled knowingly and stepped out of the room.

"Nelly, How far are you?" Ottiline asked after she connected the call.

"With the group. What's your situation over there?" Nelly asked.

"Not good, No trace of the suspect and They think I'm waiting for my partner to get married" Ottiline rubbed her hair frustrated.

"If I eventually catch him, He would definitely regret putting me through this mess" She muttered.

"So, What's your next plan?"

"I will just look around the place and get back to you" She said and hung up the call.

She stood up as her eyes glanced at the flower pot in the room before she opened the door and stepped out.

She looked around the place and saw couples going and coming.

Just as she wanted to take a step into the marriage room where everyone gets their certificate, "Miss, Has your partner come?" A voice came from behind as she turned sharply to see who it is.

And it turned out to be the staff from earlier.

"Not yet, I just couldn't hold back my excitement" She replied naturally and looked around the place with a smile on her face.

"It's been so long, Could it be that something came up?" The Staff looked at her with a trace of pity in her eyes.

"What?!" Ottiline was speechless for a while.

"Do you think he will really come? You know Men are scums and they usually change their mind at the last minute. It has happened so many times here, So you don't have to be sad and live your life well"

"Honey!" Just as the voice called out, Ottiline Levine and the Staff looked at the direction only to see a well refined man in suit, Walking towards them.

Ottiline couldn't help but swallow at this sight, One thing all her friends knows about her is that she admires handsome men and this particular one in front of her is out of this world.

But her admiration turned into shock as the young man stopped in front of her, "I didn't make you wait long, Did I?"

"What?!" Ottiline pointed at herself not knowing why things suddenly changed

"Since your Partner is finally here, The Both of you can proceed to the marriage room" The Staff stared at The two in front of her with a smile.

"Ok" The strange man agreed immediately but Ottiline only glared at him

"Emm, We just have a few things to talk about and we will go in after we are done" She smiled as the Staff nodded and walked out leaving the two of them alone.

"Hello? What was the meaning of that?! And Do I know you?" Ottiline looked at the man in front of him coldly and asked with her arms around her chest.

But the strange man raised his eyes slightly and didn't feel bothered by her anger, "Don't you need my help?" He asked her in return.

"What?!" Ottiline was left speechless for a while as she looked at the person in front of her suspiciously.

Just with a glance, She knew that the person in front of her was not ordinary. So she couldn't help but wonder if it's the department that sent him over to help her.

"Were you sent over by the department to act with me?" She asked him but before the strange man could reply, Ottiline dragged him into the marriage room

"You came just at the right time, Let's go in and catch him"

"Are you two done talking ?" The staff saw them coming in and asked.

"Yes. We will really love to spend the rest of our time and life together" Ottiline hooked the strange guy's arm and smiled sweetly at the staff, looking like a happy couple.

"Then, Just sit down and we will proceed"

"Before we came, A staff member promised to be the one to register our marriage for us, he told us that he worked at this branch" Ottiline sat down and said to the staff whole looking at her intently.

"Some of our staff are not here at the Moment, Do you know the name of the staff by any chance?" The staff asked her.

"Yes, I think it's something Victor... Sorry I can't remember his surname" She waved her hand awkwardly.

"I think I know who you are talking about, but he is now responsible for printing the marriage certificate. He will be here to give you your marriage certificate after you are done registering"

"What?!" It was Ottiline's turn to be speechless.

"We have to get married?" She blurted her unconsciously.

"Yes, isn't that what you are here to do?" The Staff asked with raised brows.

"Of course" She nodded and glanced at the man that didn't say a word since he came in with her.

"Then we will start, Just sign your name here and come out with me to take a wedding photo" The staff instructed and waited for the both of them to move.

The strange man said nothing and while, Ottiline also couldn't sign the papers.

"Is there a problem or do you two want to think about it?" The Staff looked at them hesitating.

"Waiting for my Stamp" The strange man who hasn't said anything spoke as Ottiline glanced at him.

"What about you? You can sign while he is waiting?"

"No, I will wait till his stamp comes too" Ottiline agreed too.

The staff glanced at the both of them, no one knowing what he was thinking.

"Then I will step out for a moment. But you can still sign the marriage certificate without a stamp." The staff muttered as he was leaving the office.

Just as she left Ottiline glanced at the man not knowing what to call him,

"At least for someone I'm working with, isn't it normal for me to know your name?" She asked him.

The man finally looked up and looked at her, Once again Ottiline was dazzled by the look in his eyes.

Dark and Indifferent. No one can see the bottom of it.

"Blade Steele" He replied coldly.

"Blade?" She raised her eyes, "Well that sounds like a name belonging to a Serial killer"' She muttered out of earshot.

"I can hear you"

"I was just joking, I hope you don't take it seriously. Mr. Blade, Emmm, I don't think it's really useful for us to sign the marriage certificate" She suggested but the other person did not speak but continued staring at her.

"So, If there is a way that we will find the criminal and leave then it will be ok. We can't really get married for such little thing" Ottiline continued thinking that he also understands what she is talking About.

The door opened as another strange man walked in, "President this is the Stamp you asked for" He handed the stamp over to Blade Steele and glanced lightly at Ottiline before walking away.

"Oh, You were really waiting for the stamp" She muttered not knowing why things have gone this far.

"If you have any other idea apart from this, You should share it" Mr. Blade Steele raised the Blade to her face and returned to the seat.

"You really don't want to get married to me because of a little case?" Ottiline followed behind him and asked.

"Nothing is a little case, To complete that little case, you have to make sacrifices. Unless your Job isn't as important to you as you make it look like!" Mr. Blade looked at her and replied to her eloquently.

"Mr. Knife, Sorry Blade! No one! not even you know how much I love, and put effort into my job! We just met and you just can't judge me from your little observation!"

"Yes! It is my job to catch criminals, But at the same time! I can't make a mistake about my life long decision! I don't want to be a little stain!

And secondly, I have a Fiance! What do you think he will say after he hears that I'm suddenly married! I'm sorry Mr. Blade but I won't marry you for this case

I will find a way for myself!" After speaking she turned to leave the room but a strong hand dragged her back as she fell into Mr. Blade's arm.

"For so long no one has rejected me". He whispered while removing the broken hair on her face.

"What are you doing?!" She tried to struggle out of his hold but he was strong enough

He leaned over, Closer to her ear as his lips grazed her cheeks, "You will sign the certificate honestly without refusing!" The warm breath sprayed on Ottiline's neck.

"Yes!" She stared at him in a daze, without any emotion, no anger, no joy and no focus.

"You can come in now, We've made a decision" He said to the staff who came in.

An hour later, Both the marriage certificate and Victor the criminal were delivered.

"What are you doing?!" Victor looked at the man that punched him just as he was about to deliver the marriage certificate.

"Your nemesis!" Just as Blade spoke, He placed the two marriage certificates in his suit pocket and threw Victor to Ottiline.

"What?!" Ottiline reacted and looked at the person on the floor

"What just happened? How did you get him?" Ottiline looked at Mr. Blade and asked.

"You want to catch him so seriously, Now he is in front of you, You can do whatever you want with him" Mr. Blade glanced at her and made to leave.

"But..."

"Have a good day Miss Ottiline, I know that we will see again" After speaking he turned around and left with his secretary.

Although confused and not knowing what happened, Ottiline called for backup after handcuffing Victor.

"Sorry for disrupting your work but I have to arrest him for rape and sexual assault" Ottiline Bowed to the staff feeling guilty and sorry for deceiving her.

"Is ok. Wishing you all the best in your marry"

Seeing that the Staff accepted the apology quickly, Ottiline glanced at Victor confused.

"Nothing else?" She couldn't help but ask again suspiciously.

"Instead I would like to thank you. If not for you and him, we would not have known that we had a criminal working with us" The staff smiled cordially, not looking angry at all.

"Then I will leave with him" After exchanging a few words with the staff, she dragged Victor on his collar out of the Marriage Bureau.

"You finally caught him" Nelly came over with the others as Ottiline handed the Culprit to him.

"Are you going somewhere?" Nelly looked over and asked after pushing Victor into the car.

"Yes."

"It's about Maverick?" Nelly asked but it was more like an affirmation sentence than a question.

"Today is his birthday and our 3rd year anniversary, I can't miss it even if I want"

"Well, You caught the criminal and there is nothing left for you to do here. Good luck with that, Even though I don't know what you see in that guy till today" Nelly waved at her and got into the car leaving with the criminal.

Ottiline took a long walk as she tried to remember what just happened in there but for some reason she doesn't remember what happened.

How the criminal was caught and why her mind is blank at that period of time.

"Maybe I should see a doctor. I didn't realized that this loss of memory is getting serious, I thought the symptoms stopped a long time ago"

Ottiline tried to push everything out of her mind and got into her car that she parked at the site while chasing victor.

After a long drive, she stopped at her apartment and got inside after leaving the car.

"You are back" Clara who was sitting down on the coach in front of the television with popcorn in her hand.

Clara and Ottiline have been friends for like Seven years, Although it didn't start well for them but soon when they realized that they have so many things in common they bonded real quick and Slowly became best friends.

"Is this the next episode?" Ottiline asked as she glanced at the screen.

"Yes, Unfortunately you missed it because you were busy fighting crimes. And did you catch the bastard?" Clara asked without pulling her eyes out from the screen.

"Yes." Ottiline responded and turned to enter her room.

"I know today is your Anniversary with Maverick so I took out the new collection from my boutique. You will like it. It's totally your style" Clara turned around and glanced at her as Ottiline smiled brightly.

"Is it free?"

"The dress cost $300 , so don't forget to pay up," Clara said as Ottiline rolled her eyes and entered the room.

"What can I do about it? You can't even make things easier for your best friend."

"Maverick must be waiting for you" Clara reminded her as Ottiline glared at her again and went in to freshen up.

While wiping her hair, she walked out of the bathroom and looked at the dress that Clara kept on the bed.

It's a black gown that looks simple but also elegant, it has a split from her lower thigh to the knees. It's a sleeveless gown with cups on the b side

Just as Clara said, it's a simple dress. She is just what she wants.

After wiping her hair, Ottiline changed into the dress, and matched it with a silver shoe and necklace.

She applied light make-up and let her hair down, which is something she does once in a million years because of her state of work.

Just as she stepped out, Clara turned around to look at her.

"You know, I always forget that you are an enchanting beauty. Even some actors and actresses can't match your look. I really hope you will look like this often" Clara muttered.

"Well, I might not come home for dinner so don't add my dinner. I'm switching off my phone so if Nelly calls you for anything just tell him that I'm not available" She took her car keys and walked out of the house.

"Well, Everyone is in a relationship except me" Clara muttered from behind her.

"What about me?" A voice sounded from behind her.

"You are not supposed to come out yet, What if she comes back?" Clara glared at the person that walked over and sat down next to her.

"I think my legs are cramping, I've been hiding for almost an hour and I missed you so much" The man took her into his arms in an attempt to kiss her.

"Go away! Ottiline will kill me if she finds out that I'm hiding a man in her house" She pushed him aside and concentrated on her movie.

Ottiline stopped at the restaurant and threw the key to the bodyguard before making her way inside.

"Welcome Miss, Do you have an appointment?" The waitress walked over and asked.

"Yes, Maverick Shawn" Ottiline replied as the appointment was confirmed.

"Room 326, We hope you enjoy your stay here" The Waitress smoked cordially as another walked over to show her the way to the private room.

After they stopped at the location, Ottiline thanked the Waitress and made to take a step inside but the voice inside in the room made her stop.

"Do you think my sister will come? You know that her job is the most important thing to her. She doesn't even care about you"

Ottiline could recognize the voice, Her parent's also birthed another child who is her younger sister Lily.

"But you know that you are not supposed to be here, Today is I and Ottiline's Third anniversary and. She can't find out about us"

"We've been together for almost a year and you still can't let go of her. What about me? What am I supposed to do"

"Lily! Please Leave! She can't meet you here!"

"Fine!"

Ottiline who was still in shock slowly opened the door, "Sister!" Lilly who stood up to leave looked at her in shock.
