Ava's POV

"Do you have any appointment with Mr. Donald?" The receptionist questioned as he continued to stare at the computer.

"I'm here to make a deal" I replied, the male receptionist's face brightened into a smile.

"Follow me," He said as he strode to a big door. In the big door, there are two smaller doors. He strode to the left and opened the inner door that has 'Dark Circles' written on it.

"Welcome Ava, you are welcome to dark circles, "A man with grey hair said seated on a wooden chair, he is maybe in his forties.

"A deal," I said. The old man claps and the room became dark with a dim light beside me, the old man disappeared and I was alone in the darkroom.

"Oh dark Jinn, come grant me a wish" I stretched my hand forward and flinched when I felt a presence behind me.

I turned back and saw a man under a black hoodie behind me. He brought his hand forward exposing his tan skin and a dark circle on it.

"A mermaid requesting a wish? Well, why did you disturb my sleep?"He scoffed.

"I wish Lucas Lina, the third child of the great elder in the ocean gets cured of his illness" I echoed.

"Your wish shall be granted but a pay awaits"I will surely pay for every wish you grant" I gulped and felt a burning pain on my right shoulder.

"Now you have the dark Jinn's mark, be ready for your pay" He echoed. A beam of light shone on my face, I shut my eyes and the light became dim.

I blinked and sighted Lucas and myself in my room.

"Lucas, is this you? How do you feel? What happened? I was on my way to the coffee shop...." I said and embraced him.

"Ava, is anything wrong? You were acting weird after you came back from the coffee shop. I prepared breakfast and asked you to assist me but you were muted and walked to your room. Did anyone yell at you? Are you hurt somewhere?" He disengaged from the hug and held my shoulder.

"Ouch!" I groaned in pain, he lowers his hands to my palm.

"Sister, what's wrong?" He gave me a confused look.

"I felt a sharp pain on my left shoulder," I said and rolled my sleeve upward. I sighted a dark mark like a small palm on my left shoulder and quickly rolled my sleeve downward remembering my deal with the Jinn.

"Sister, why are you having pains? Are you alright?"He questioned

"Lucas, stop asking questions. I'm so glad you can move your legs and you don't have a fever with blood running out of your nostrils" I cooed as I touched his forehead with the back of my palm, trying to avoid more questions.

I didn't want Lucas to know about my deal with the dark Jinn, he would get worried and I don't want to see him feverish anymore. I stood from the bed with Lucas's support, feeling extremely weak.

"Let's have breakfast," I said and walked to the dining room feeling a little energized as I didn't see Lucas's worried face.

Funny noises emerged from my pant pocket, I slid my phone from the pocket and sighted a message from Mr. Chris, my manager.

"Ma'am, I can't make it to the office today, my mum is sick and I need to stay with her at the hospital" I read out with a groan and sighted Lucas with a cup of coffee.

"Does that mean you won't spend time with me?" He pouted and I pecked his cheek.

"I will be back in the evening" I gulped the coffee he offered and grabbed my car keys. I ignited the car's engine and drove off to Ava's restaurant, my restaurant.

"Welcome Ma'am" The security man greeted, he ran to the other side of the car and opened the door. I threw the car keys to him that landed on his hand after an attempt to catch it.

"Take it to the car wash, I want it perfectly clean" I ordered and walked in as the smell of cinnamon hit my nose. I love the aroma of cinnamon in my kitchen and I'm sure the customers love it too.

My left shoulder became heavy immediately after I took a step inside. I sat on a chair next to the door and looked around for a waiter or a security man to help me, then I sighted an old man with tanned skin with a group of people at a table.

His tan skin with dark circles reminds me of the dark Jinn. Jinns aren't human, they are like gods, half-monster, they possess dark powers and can be recognized as human. I wanted to take a better look since I've always wished to see their face. I walked to their table to have a better view then my eyes met a green eye with broad shoulders and a muscular body.

What made him gorgeous was his pair of green eyes, they are so beautiful I almost got lost in them, he looked handsome. I flinched when I sensed water was about to spill on me, I turned back and sighted a broken cup shattered on the floor. I moved away from my position but slipped.

I didn't fall on my butts, a mighty arm was around my waist, and I could see broad shoulders exposed after the arm. The handsome man at the other table arms was encircled around my waist,and he was also shirtless. I ripped his shirt while trying to save myself from falling.

I admired his muscular arms and mole on his collarbone for a little time before he saw me staring.

"I'm sorry ma"The waitress apologized. I turned to walk away but felt an arm grab my arm. I glanced at his handsome face and then his arm.

"I'm Ava" I stammered and he stared at me puzzled.

"Ava.."I stretched my hand forward for a handshake and he ignores it.

"You ripped my shirt yet you want to leave" He rasped. I thought he wanted me to introduce myself but unexpectedly he is blabbering about his so-called shirt.

I got irritated by his words and didn't see anyone at his table. I forgot to take a look at the old man, I looked at the table and there was no one, they were long gone.

"Is the old man the dark Jinn? If he is, why is he at my restaurant?" I muttered as I walked away. I felt a sharp pain on my shoulder and rubbed it but the pain increased and I groaned in pain.

"Need some help? Are you alright?"I turned to see who wanted to help and sighted the man that helped me from falling. He looked different and cool not arrogant like earlier, and his clothing was completely changed. He had a smile plastered on his face, his eye color was brown.

He stretched his hand forward as he moved his pink lips" I'm Don"

" Ava," I said amused at his change of tone.

"Nice to meet you. Are you alright?" He questioned caringly

."I'm fine," I said and he walks away in his perfectly fitted suit. He was a complete version of the green eye man and I didn't feel pain after he requested to help.

I strode to the car park and sighted my blue car neatly packed. I ignited the car's engine and drove to a seafood store. I was pretty hungry and I am very sure Lucas is, he doesn't love eating at a restaurant.

He prefers my homemade food. "Dinner on the way" I muttered as I drove to my apartment. I pressed the doorbell and someone yelled.

"The door is opened!"The masculine voice wasn't Lucas and I was determined to know who was in my apartment.

I twisted the doorknob but to my surprise everywhere was decorated with love balloons.

"Happy anniversary baby," Zach said as he threw a love balloon at me that landed on the tiled floor.

"How did you get here?" I asked, he ignores me and took another balloon.

"I'm back for you baby," He said walking towards me. I dropped the bag of seafood and grabbed Lucas's hockey stick behind the door. I was ready to hit him and he moved backward.

"Come on baby, we don't need to live in the past. We need to plan for our future" He gestured and I slowly lowered the stick. He is my ex-lover and I hate myself for dating him even after what he did to me in the past, I don't want to hate him.

"Forget the past and let's start afresh. I promised you that I will always love you and I do" He cooed.

Ava's POV

"You liar!I was just some sort of toy to you that you can control. I was so stupid to call you my lover. I realized how worthless you are and I won't go back to my vomit" I said and he coughs."I wasn't in my right sense at that time. It was all Lisa's doing, she drugged me"

Flashback

The limousine halted to a stop, the chauffeur opened the door and I ran to the door excitedly. I turned the key into the latch and barged into the house.

Red and white balloons are decorated everywhere, it was Valentine's day and I was so excited to celebrate it with him. We would play video games, cook together, and dance to romantic music as we do every Valentine.

But this year Valentine was different and a little too cold for a romantic day. My Romeo was not in the room or the library so I decided to check in the kitchen. There were few murmurs in the kitchen. I decided to eavesdrop when I saw my best friend on his lap holding a glass of wine.

"Break up with her already, She is an obstacle between us," Lisa said.

"Forget about her, our relationship is only a dare to make love with her but since she disagreed I'm only after her money" They laughed and clinked glasses.

I clutched the red teddy I bought to control my fuming anger. I fell at the view of Zach kissing her passionately. I couldn't barge in because I was scared of myself, I didn't want to murder again.

I staggered towards the door and boarded a taxi, with pearls trickling from my eye.

End of flashback

"Forgive me, love, it was all her plan to separate us," He said

"She is with your child and I can no longer get involved with you. Leave or I will call the cops" I threatened, he blew a kiss and walked out.

"Rascal" I muttered and slammed the door. The doorbell rang and I flung the door open.

"What do you want?!" I yelled. I faked a smile immediately after I saw Lucas's worried face.

"Is anything wrong?" He questioned with furrowed brows.

"Nothing is wrong. Come inside, you look tired" I opened the door widely and he slumped into the chair, exhausted.

"Why are balloons here? Did that scoundrel come here?" He fumed with a balled fist as he strode to the door.

"You are not leaving" I obstructed his way, he groaned and sat on the sofa.

"I'm making shellfish for dinner and I need a little help in the kitchen" I grabbed the bag of seafood and sniffed it. Lucas strode to his room angrily and slammed the door.

"Drama king, you can't get angry at big sister forever" I yelled and smiled sheepishly at the bag of seafood. My phone rang and the caller ID was Mr. Chris.

I received the call and sighted Lucas who came out from his room. He strode to the kitchen after he grabbed the bag of seafood from me.

"Hi, Chris. Is your mum getting better?"

"Mum is getting better and she will be discharged tomorrow. May I resume work next week?" He cooed over the phone.

"Sure. My regards to her"

"Food has been requested in a wedding and the ceremony will start tomorrow

"Send me the address. I will personally coordinate the cook"

"Goodnight ma"

"Goodnight" I strode to the dining room and smiled as shellfish was dished on the table.

I licked my lips and reached for a dish. Lucas strode to the library as usual before going to bed, while I watched a romantic movie after having dinner.

I chirped good morning to Lucas and strode out of the apartment in a blue blouse and skirt that matches my heels.

I drove to the address and sighted a big white villa that was decorated with flowers with children playing with firecrackers and the water from the fountain. I was directed inside the villa by a lady who addressed herself as the groom's sister.

The villa was big and spacious and was not filled with many guests. It was decorated with black and pink flowers which are unusual.

"The wedding will begin in a short while, you are welcome also as a guest. Feel free to call me when you need anything, I'm just a meter away " She didn't say her name, but walked away hurriedly and went to discuss with some group of people in luxury clothes.

I fixed my gaze at a lady who had her brown hair fall on her shoulder. Her back was faced at me, she looked exactly like Lisa and chatted with an old man happily. She turned to me and appeared to be Lisa.

My instincts were right, she had a fake smile on her face and walked to me proudly. She hugged me and chuckled

"Finally, you are over that naughty boyfriend of yours. I hope you've stopped crying over him because you don't matter to him. You are just a piece of trash.." I interrupted her statement before she finished by twisting her arm backward. Everyone was busy with the decorations and didn't hear her yelp.

"You are only breathing because I decided not to end your life that very day I discovered who you were. Don't try to act smart with me, I can break your arms and legs" I released her, she walked away hurriedly and held the arm I twisted in pain.

"Ma'am would you like a drink?" A waiter said with a tray of a glass of wine. I grabbed two glasses and gulped the

wine. I sighted the green-eyed man whose hand was draped over a young lady's shoulder. He staggered and grabbed the other glass of wine from the waiter.

"Dyrus, you drank too much. I think you should go and rest" The lady said, he nodded and staggered away with his cloth stinking of alcohol.

With the sudden urge to pee and my head spinning, I walked to a young boy who was playing with balloons.

"Hey cutie, can you show me the way to the restroom?" He nodded and replied,

"Walk to the staircase and go to the third room by the left"

"Thank you"

"2,3..no 1,3" I counted the doors which were confusing when counting.

I opened the door of a room, the room was big and I dashed to the inner room in the room.

I heaved a sigh in relief as I didn't pee on myself. I walked outside of the bathroom and sighted Dyrus whose shirt was unbuttoned as he stared at me lustfully with his gorgeous green eyes.

"Dyrus?" I said at the view of triple Dyrus, he pulled me closer to himself and slammed his lips on mine.

I woke up with a slight headache, a mighty arm was draped over my waist and my legs cuddled legs.

I froze and stared with wide eyes at my naked body. I sprang up immediately I recovered where I was and why I was naked.

My head ached after I remembered what happened between me and Dyrus. He was still asleep and his body was covered with the duvet, while my body was exposed to the room. I removed the duvet off his body since he was in his pants already and wrapped it below my shoulders.

My clothes and underwear were of no use because they were ripped and smelled of his cologne. I dashed to the bathroom and took a shower that washed off his cologne from my body. I changed to his shirt that didn't smell of cologne.

Everywhere became dark, and everything in the room disappeared A man appeared in a black hoodie, he resembled the dark Jinn with the dark circle on his hand.

"Your wish had been granted, now it's time for your pay" He echoed."Go to the altar and get married." He disappeared in front of the darkness.

The room changed suddenly to a dressing room. A woman in her forties standing beside the dressing table as if she was waiting for me to appear.

"No need to panic princess, you are to only perform the wedding ritual with my son" She smiled.

"Son?" Everything seemed weird, I had my bath and didn't transform into a mermaid and the woman who wants me to get married to her son knows that I'm a princess.

The maids added well-garnished turmeric mixed with coconut and almond oil to the water I bath in.

"Perfect," The woman said after she placed the red veil on my head. I was dressed in a black wedding gown with a few makeups on my face.

The wedding altar was filled with murmurs until I walked into the wedding altar. The tension reduced and the ceremony began with the priest lighting the candles. Don was dressed in a black suit and rubbed his hand together.

"Do you accept to be Don's wife? Do you agree that is only death that will separate you both?" The priest said

"Yes," I sighed, Don, inserted the ring in my finger and tapped his fingers as applauds filled the room.

"The dress fits you perfectly Lisa, but I am still eager to see your face then we can discuss the baby's name later" Don whispered with a smile plastered on his face.

He is eager to see Lisa as his bride, but I turned out to be his new bride who just had a fling with his look-alike.

This happened because of Lisa. I drank the wine and ended up in bed with Dyrus, and I'm married to a gentleman who isn't aware of his runaway bride. She is the main cause of this unlucky event.

"Lisa, you are to walk on the flowers" Don held my arm as we walked past the flowers. There were murmurs instead of applause, I turned back and the flowers appeared black.

"She made the flowers turn black" The guests whispered at the view of the black flowers

"We waited for hours for the bride to arrive and the flowers turned black suddenly"

" This is a bad omen"

"It means this wedding is bad luck They whispered.

"Lisa, you don't need to worry about anything. Go to your room and rest, you must be exhausted" Don walked away and the guests reduced slowly as I strode to the staircase anxiously.

Dyrus's POV

I woke up feeling a little dizzy, my head ached when I tried to remember how I got to my room.

I glanced at Zoey who pocketed her phone with a sudden change in her demeanor.

"It's getting late and dark, I'm going home," She said hurriedly and walked towards the door.

"Hold on!," I said, she flinched and turned back.

"Call me when you get home" She made a tight-lipped smile and shut the door. I changed my cloth and went downstairs.

There was no one in the alter except the maids that were cleaning.

I heard indistinct arguments from my father's library and I strode to dad's library curiously.

"She is bad luck and must be sacrificed. We need a leader in the Donald's and that may be you or me" Father yelled and Don grabbed him by the collar.

"Don't you dare speak of Lisa as a sacrifice? That ritual of yours has been done severally but no one in the family became the supreme leader instead you became a mere dark jinn that makes meals." Don yelled and let go of his collar.

Mum raised her hand to slap Don and I held it immediately. She gasped and wriggled her hand to let go of my grip.

"Don't you ever raise your hand at my brother, you lost that right a long time ago," I whispered to her and released her hand slowly.

"Dyrus, how would you say that to your mum. If you don't see her as your mum then bear in mind that she is still my wife." Dad rasped and strode out of the library with mum.

"Dad won't do anything to Lisa as long as I am here," I said to soothe his anger and he replied with a nod.

Unknown POV

"Bring them in and extract the oils completely" I ordered and the men carried the large containers of injured mermaids and merman to the big room.

"Thirty have been captured, how many more will be needed?" Thomas asked and I laughed aloud at his statement

"Thousands aren't enough, I need more"He bowed and walked away. Lisa barged in with a smile and cooed

"Zoey has good news"We strode into the office where Zoey was seated already, sipping coffee and munching cookies.

"I did not tell you to sit" I rasped and she stood up instantly. I sat on the sofa prepared to listen to the good news, she bowed and replied with excitement in her tone

"I found the prince" I sprang out of the sofa with a jolt and she brought a phone from her pocket.

I touched the phone and dropped it after feeling the mighty sensation

"It's her, the leader of the mighty troops. Ava" I said as cold ran down my spine. I am a merman that has been cursed by the elders after I fell in love with the troop's enemy, a Jinn.

She got killed and I must avenge her death, everyone in the ocean that was against my love must perish.

"You are very useful Zoey, we can find the prince and princess with the object you brought" I laughed

"Let's kidnap Lucas, threaten Ava to give us her people, and kill them all" She chuckled and I feigned a smile.

"I'm the boss here and decisions are mine to make. Is your mission completed?" I asked and the smile on her face disappeared

"I'm sorry boss, I was unable to hurt Jinn Dyrus. I spiked his drink but got interrupted" She said and Lisa kept mute.

" Lisa became a runaway bride to complete her mission and yet it was incomplete"

Sorrymy boss"

" I am not interested in excuses, your reward is death" I smirked and made my third eye visible.

"Please, don'tkill me" She stammered as she took her last breath and dried up as a skeleton.

My mission was to distract Dyrus and eliminate him because I had a vision that he would become the leader of the magical beings-mermaid and Jinn. I made my third eye invisible and Lisa exclaimed

"Well done boys"

"Security" Lisa yelled and the two security men took Zoey's skeleton

"Lisa, you are in charge of this mission, eliminate Dyrus," I said and tried to wrap my hand around hers but she dashed out of the office.

"You can't avoid my love for you Lisa, you would be mine one day" A loud noise emerged from the phone on my table, I answered the call which was from 'Lucas'

"Ava, I have been worried since you left home" I ended the call and called Lisa from the telephone.

"I want Lucas"

"Alright boss," She said over the phone and I ended the call. Lisa has been with me for the past five years and she helped me with this industry where I avenge my first love, Lora.

My heart beats for Lisa now and I will avenge Lora's death. After eliminating Dyrus and Ava's troops, the ocean will choose me to be their leader, the Jinns will fear me, humans will tremble when they hear my name, and the universe will bow before me.

I would create a new world and Lora's spirit will rest in peace.

The clock ticked 8 pm, I packed some pearls from the storeroom and drove home. I sighted Lia at the porch with a worried face.

"Daddy!" She exclaimed and ran towards me. Lia gave me a warm hug and I pecked her forehead.

"How are you darling?"

"Dad, I'm sad. A kid in school mocked me because I'm motherless" She sobbed

"You are not, she traveled.."

"Dad, stop feeding me lies. I know she died after my birth" She interrupted with tears flowing down her chin

"Don't cry, I promise to get you a mum very soon," I said and brought out a bag of pearls from my car. A smile brightened on her face as her necklace began to glow.

"Thanks, Dad, you are the best," She said and vacuumed the pearls. I carried her on my shoulders, strode to her room, and laid her carefully on the bed.

"Good night daddy" She shut her eyes, I switched off the light and walked to my room.

"She misses you Lora" I whispered and Lora's spirit floated on the bed.

"She misses me but you don't" Her spirit cried.

"I do, I miss you a lot"

"Then why does your heartbeat for Lisa? Is it because she is the daughter of an elder?" She sobbed

"Please go and rest, I will fulfill my promise" I assured her but she continued to cry and I was unable to rest.

"Dad?" A voice echoed as I flinched to the door and sighted Lia with a confused look.

"Did you spend your night in the restroom? It's 1 am" She said but I was muted

"Why can't Lora stop taunting you?" She yelled

"She is your mother"

"I know she is my mother, if she truly loves us then she should stop taunting my dad" Lia lowered her eyebrows and bright light beams.

"Lia, control your power" I yelled and slowly blinked my eyes. She disappeared, I ran to her room but she was not there.

Lia has the power to teleport when she is angry but she doesn't know how to control

"Lia!Lia!" Lora yells and floats out of the house.

"Jeez, Lora is to be blamed for this," I said to myself and walked to the car to search for Lia.

I ignited my car engine and drove to Lias's favorite playhouse but she was not there.

I got pissed off and drove back home, on my way home I sighted Lia sleeping on the road.

I was excited and got out of the car to take her home then a lorry came by speeding towards Lia.

Lia stood up with her eyes shut and walked towards the speeding lorry.

"Lia!" I cried out but she walked faster to the lorry. I became helpless and ran towards Lia to save her.

"Abra ca da bra!" A voice echoed behind me which paused the moving lorry, and I carried Lia to the car

"You need to take good care of her." the same voice echoed. I looked back and sighted a Jinn, Dyrus with his golden wand stretched to Lia.

"Abra ca da bra," Dyrus said pointing his golden wand at Lia which made her regain consciousness.

"Daddy!" Lia exclaimed and pulled her arms around me. Dyrus turned around and disappeared into thin air.

Immediately he disappeared everything began to move including the speeding lorry.

"Lia, what happened to you? Why were you moving towards the speeding lorry?"

"It was your step mum. She cast a spell on me when I appeared in a rocky cave.

"What? Is my step mum alive? Why would she do this to her granddaughter?" I whispered to myself.

"Don't worry sweetheart, no one can hurt you when I am here," I said and pecked her forehead. I carried Lia to the car, on the front seat. I drove the car home.

"You are banned from the ocean for impregnating the first child supreme leader of the jinns. I curse you that you won't be able to use your powers to do good anymore, you will watch your loved ones die slowly and you won't be able to do anything about it." a voice echoed in my head as I held my head.

"Daddy, what's wrong with you?" Lia asked as she got out of the car.

"I am fine, dear go to your room and get some rest. I need to attend a meeting, Lisa will come and spend the day with you".

"Really? I love you, daddy." Lia blew a kiss at me and strode to the house. A noise emerged from my phone and I saw a message from Lisa.

"The job is done. Lucas is currently in the industry it's time to execute our plan." I read the message out.

I messaged her to come to stay with Lia because I was scared of losing her and she agreed.

I drove to the shaman introduced by Lisa on how to break the curse.
