"Why do I have to go with you?" she asked uncertainly, adjusting her shiny dress on her body.

However, she didn't want to attend.

"Because I need you there, I don't want to be alone among all the rich people," he replied.

"Well, I'm far from being rich," commented Olivia, raising an eyebrow as she chased after her cousin.

She still had some difficulty walking in heels, while Emma wore them with impressive ease.

"Vamos a dar algunos golpes", sugirió Emma.

Emma miró hacia arriba y vio a varios hombres guapos.

She rolled her eyes as they passed through an area covered in mirrors on the walls.

"I feel pretty," Olivia thought as she looked at her slim and beautiful reflection. She remembered the thyroid problems she used to have and how difficult it was for her to maintain her weight.

"Two vodkas with juice, please," the man ordered and sat down next to her.

"I actually lost my cousin," she said.

"It sounds like you lost a dog or something," he replied.

"Well, yeah... something like that," she murmured and laughed.

"Do you come here often?" he asked.

"No, actually... It's my first time in a place like this. I'm not rich, don't get your hopes up."

"I would think the complete opposite."

Olivia raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why? Do I have an elegant demeanor?"

"Yes, you're very refined and delicate."

"Thank you, you flatter me," she commented as she extended her hand and gave a thumbs-up.

"I take back what I said," he commented, and they both laughed.

"I'm sorry, I can't help showing my 'small-town' gestures," she muttered.

"I see, but you're very..."

"Very what? Charming? Beautiful?" Olivia asked.

He laughed. "Yes, and also intelligent, it seems."

When their drinks arrived, they toasted and drank.

"This is delicious!" Olivia exclaimed, surprised.

"It is, although it's not very refined."

"Incredible," she agreed.

"Do you want to dance?" the man asked.

"Yes... I would love to."

Olivia stood up with some difficulty since she hadn't eaten much throughout the afternoon. Plus, the drink she had tried was starting to take effect.

"Take it easy, don't fall," the man commented, and she laughed.

"What's your name?" she asked once she managed to stand still.

"I'm Emilio, and you...?"

Olivia thought for a second. Maybe they shouldn't give their real names; after all, they were wearing masks.

"My cousin is going to kill me for using her name," Olivia thought.

"Emma, nice name."

"Thank you. You seem to like these kinds of songs. I didn't think they would play bachata in a place like this."

"Yes, they play a bit of everything. Some rich folks pay a lot of money to have reggaeton played."

"Not the music I expected," Olivia thought. "Why don't they play more upbeat songs?"

"Interesting," she commented.

Olivia allowed herself to be led by unfamiliar arms. They reached the center of the dance floor, and the lights spread all around them.

Olivia was amazed by the play of lights, scents, and people. The ballroom was spacious, with mirrors on the walls, dim lights, and soft music playing, sometimes fading away. It was perfect for dancing!

Although the music wasn't what she expected, Olivia liked the atmosphere of the place. It was very romantic. She felt nervous and excited at the same time. Her

heart beat a bit faster, and she couldn't wait to dance with Emilio.

She saw many fabrics flowing around, here and there. A lot of money in such a small space. Luxury extended in all its splendor.

Olivia relaxed and surrendered to the music and the fresh air of the ballroom. Her breathing adjusted to the rhythm of the song as she moved smoothly to the sound of the notes. As the music's pace increased, her breathing and steps matched its rhythm. She felt somewhat happy and began to smile.

"It seems like you're amazed," Emilio remarked.

"She's laughing. She's enjoying it. She told me she felt nervous before we started dancing. She looks much more relaxed now, forgetting about the problems that have been rushing her. It must be the magic of the music," Emilio thought, relaxed.

"It's... incredible. I love everything about it," Olivia said.

"You have to come more often so I can find you."

"I don't know, I still haven't found my cousin. And you want me to find her here," she commented, and they both laughed.
