Marriage Compromise for Revenge

A luxurious reunion party is currently being held on the beach. The party is intended to gather all the 2018 graduates from a prestigious campus.

Alexa is among the graduates. She attends the party wearing a luxurious and quite sexy outfit. In fact, many people are staring at her with mesmerized looks.

However, tonight Alexa doesn't seem interested in enjoying the party. She sits alone, accompanied only by a bottle of wine. When someone invites her to dance or chat, she always declines and says she wants to be alone.

"Alexa, why are you sitting here alone?"

A woman in a bright red dress approaches Alexa, then sits next to her. And Alexa doesn't shoo her away, like the others before, because the woman is her close friend.

Upon hearing the question, Alexa shakes her head.

"It's okay, I just want to sit here alone, Belle."

The woman's name is Belle. She is one of Alexa's college friends who has remained close until now.

"Hey, you're not the Alexa I know. You usually love parties and dancing. Your sexy outfit is perfect for tonight's party, and it's a shame if you just sit and do nothing here, Alexa," Belle said.

Belle also noticed that Alexa's behavior was very different tonight. As long as she had known Alexa, she had always been very active at parties. However, tonight her friend was becoming more passive and thoughtful.

Alexa refilled her glass with wine, emptying the bottle in the process.

"I don't know, Belle. I'm just not interested in doing anything tonight. This wine is enough to keep me entertained," she said.

Belle poured herself another glass of wine.

"If you're feeling like this, then there must be a problem with Cristof. Is he cheating on you again?" she asked, guessing.

As soon as she heard Cristof's name, Alexa's face contorted with anger.

"Yes, he is. He's cheating with someone new again. I'm done with him, and I won't give him another chance," Alexa replied, firm in her decision.

Alexa was a beautiful woman with a sharp mind. As the only child of a wealthy family, she had become one of the leaders in her father's company.

However, when it came to love, her luck was not on her side. Her boyfriend, Cristof, had repeatedly cheated on her despite their two-year relationship and plans to get married next year.

"I had a feeling," Belle said, trying to reassure her friend. "But it's good that you broke up with him. There are still plenty of better men out there for you, Alexa."

Alexa sighs deeply, feeling grateful for Belle's support during this tough time. Belle and Alexa share a very close friendship, and Belle knows Cristof's character and his relationship with Alexa very well.

"Oh yeah, I saw Aldebaran. He seems to have come to this party too," Belle says.

Alexa immediately turns towards Belle upon hearing the name 'Aldebaran.'

"Wait, Aldebaran came to this party?" she asks.

Belle nods her head.

"Yes, Aldebaran - your ex-boyfriend from our college days. He's even more handsome now, Alexa."

All the 2018 graduates clearly know who Aldebaran is. In their time, Aldebaran and Alexa were a couple who were highly supported by their friends. They both came from wealthy families and had equally charming looks.

Alexa's mind is being pulled back, remembering her memories when Aldebaran was still her boyfriend.

"Aldebaran came here? Is that possible?" she wonders.

"Alexa, do you still have feelings for Aldebaran? I think you're still a good match if you were to get back together," Belle says, repeating her words and bringing Alexa back from her thoughts.

Alexa doesn't respond to Belle's words. She seems reluctant to talk about her ex-boyfriend.

"I have to go to the restroom, Belle. Please wait here, I'll be back soon," Alexa said to Belle, hoping to avoid the topic of conversation.

While in the restroom, Alexa stared at her reflection in the mirror for a few minutes until she was interrupted by someone calling her name.

"Hey, Alexa?"

Alexa turned her head to see Aldebaran, her ex-boyfriend, standing near her. He looked so handsome in a navy suit and black shirt, with his hair combed back, which left Alexa quite mesmerized.

"I saw you standing in front of the mirror earlier. Are you okay?" Aldebaran asked, looking at Alexa's face.

Alexa nodded her head in response, "Yes, I'm fine. Excuse me, I have to go."

At that moment, Alexa intended to leave the restroom immediately, but Aldebaran held her wrist and made her stop.

"This is our first meeting after several years, Alexa. Don't you miss me?"

Alexa immediately turned her head towards Aldebaran. She looked surprised after hearing the question asked by her ex-lover.

However, after a few seconds, Aldebaran chuckled softly and shook his head.

"I'm kidding, Alexa. Your expression looks so serious."

Alexa released herself from Aldebaran's grip, then stepped back.

At that moment, Alexa intended to leave the restroom immediately, but Aldebaran held her wrist and stopped her.

"This is our first meeting after several years, Alexa. Don't you miss me?" he asked, looking at her with a smile.

Alexa turned her head towards Aldebaran, looking surprised after hearing the question asked by her ex-lover. However, after a few seconds, Aldebaran chuckled softly and shook his head.

"I'm kidding, Alexa. Your expression looks so serious," he said.

Alexa released herself from Aldebaran's grip and took a step back, looking unhappy with his way of speaking.

"This is our first meeting in a long time, and you shouldn't give me a bad impression, Aldebaran. We are strangers, and I don't appreciate your joke," she replied firmly.

Aldebaran approached Alexa's face, closing the distance between them.

"Okay, now I'm serious, Alexa. Answer my question, do you miss me after our breakup?" he asked again.

Frustration was clearly visible on Alexa's face. However, she couldn't avoid Aldebaran's question now. A few moments later, she was seen shaking her head firmly.

"Miss you? Absolutely not. You're not that important in my life," she replied.

Aldebaran chuckled again.

"Really? Now answer my question again. What was your reason for suddenly ending our relationship, Alexa?" he pressed.

"I have nothing to do with you anymore, so don't ask about something that's already over. I have to go and meet my friends outside. Excuse me," Alexa said, trying to leave.

However, when she tried to open the door, she realized that it was locked.

"I won't open the door until you answer my question, Alexa," Aldebaran said, turning around and walking towards her again. He held her shoulders with both hands, looking intently at her face.

Alexa felt panicked and realized she had nowhere to go to escape from Aldebaran.

"Our relationship has been over for a long time, Aldebaran. I don't want to talk about something that isn't important. I've forgotten all our memories, including the reason why I ended things with you!" she said, her face contorted with anger.

"But for me, everything isn't finished, Alexa. Our relationship isn't over yet because I never agreed to end it," Aldebaran replied, his deep gaze intense.

Alexa forcefully pushed Aldebaran away.

"It's been three years since our relationship ended, Aldebaran. I have a new life now, and I'm not stuck in the past. If our relationship isn't over for you, it's already finished for me," she said, emphasizing that their relationship was long over.

However, Aldebaran didn't believe Alexa's words and demanded to know the reason she ended their relationship, as he never received a clear answer back then.

Alexa rolled her eyes, then took a deep breath.

"Okay, I'll answer it now. The reason I ended things with you before is because I was already bored with you and didn't love you anymore. More specifically, at that time I was in love with another man and he was more perfect than you. And of course, he didn't come from a problematic family, unlike yours!"

Aldebaran was quite surprised after hearing Alexa's answer.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

And Alexa immediately nodded her head.

"Yes, my words are true."

SLAP!

Suddenly, Aldebaran slapped Alexa's face before she finished her sentence!

"How dare you insult my family, Alexa!" he scolded, full of emotion.

Alexa held her face, feeling the heat from the slap given by Aldebaran. At that moment, tears flowed from the corners of her eyes.

"So, the reason you left me is because there was another man who was more perfect than me, and also because my family was facing problems at the time?" Aldebaran approached Alexa and then gripped her shoulder again, but Alexa didn't dare to respond. She looked scared after getting slapped by Aldebaran earlier.

"I'll explain it to you, Alexa. Now, my family is out of trouble and I have become the perfect man. In fact, I can confidently say that you won't find another man more perfect than me," said Aldebaran.

"Remember, Alexa, I won't forget what you said earlier about me and my family. And I promise, I will make you regret leaving me and wasting my feelings before. You will receive a heavy punishment from me for your own actions, Alexa!"

After saying that sentence, Aldebaran immediately pushed Alexa's body away from him, then unlocked the door and left the room, leaving Alexa alone.

When Alexa returned, she immediately joined Belle and danced together.

"Finally, you're dancing too. I'm happier to see you act like this than staying quiet earlier, Alexa," said Belle happily as she watched Alexa dance seductively in front of her.

And Alexa only responded to Belle's statement with a smile. She chose to continue dancing while drinking the wine in her hand.

"To hell with love and relationships. I don't care!" she shouted.

However, it seemed that Alexa was unaware that Aldebaran was observing her movements from a distance.

Aldebaran stared at Alexa's dancing body with a sharp gaze. The glare of revenge was visible on his angry face.

"I'll make sure that someday you won't be able to dance freely anymore, Alexa. And what I said will always come true," he murmured.

A few hours later, the reunion event had ended, and Alexa decided to go home.

"Alexa, are you sure you can drive yourself? You look very drunk now," Belle asked.

Alexa smiled, then nodded her head.

"I'm fine, Belle. I only drank three bottles of wine, and that won't make me drunk," she replied calmly.

Yeah, Alexa had finished three bottles of wine at the reunion event earlier. It sounded like a small amount because she could drink even more wine.

"Are you sure? But your face is very red now, and your words are slurred. How about I drive you home?" Belle said again. She felt hesitant to let her friend go home alone.

Alexa shook her head again.

"No need, Belle. Jason, your boyfriend, has been waiting for you since earlier. I'm sure he wants to take you home now. Go home with him. Don't doubt me, I can even drive myself home, even though I've had many glasses of tequila."

Alexa tried to convince Belle that she was fine. She was aware that she was drunk now, but she could still control herself well.

"Okay then. I'll go home later because Jason is hanging out with his friends now. Let me know when you get home, okay?" Belle finally said.

Alexa nodded her head in response.

"Go ahead. I'm sure Jason is waiting for you now."

After making sure that Belle had truly left, Alexa got into her car. Not long after, she drove her car out of the parking area, along with other cars.

Alexa drove her car at a moderate speed. She didn't drive at high speed because her head felt very dizzy now.

"Why is my head so dizzy now? Is it the effect of the wine earlier?" she muttered, while massaging her forehead with her left hand fingers.

However, because the dizziness was getting worse, Alexa finally decided to stop her car for a moment.

Alexa turned off the car engine, then leaned her head on the seat and closed her eyes. For several minutes she did this, hoping that it could reduce the dizziness in her head.

"Alexa?"

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Suddenly there was a voice of someone knocking on Alexa's car window, then calling her name.

Alexa turned her head to the side to check who was calling her name.

"Cristoffer? Why is he here now?"

Outside the car, there was a blond-haired man standing there. And that figure was Cristoffer, the boyfriend that Alexa had broken up with because he cheated on her behind her back.

"Alexa, please step out of the car for a moment. I want to explain the truth to you, so you won't misunderstand me," Cristoffer pleaded with Alexa, asking her to get out of the car and listen to his explanation.

"No, I don't want to get out. I don't need your explanation anymore, Cristof," Alexa replied.

However, Alexa no longer cared about Cristoffer's presence. She had been cheated on repeatedly by Cristoffer and had given him many chances. But Cristoffer never appreciated the opportunities she gave him and instead repeated his mistakes.

"I beg you, Alexa. Really, this is the last time. I promise not to make the same mistake again. We've planned to get married next year, right? So let's fix our relationship, Alexa," Cristof pleaded again.

Alexa sighed heavily, with an annoyed expression on her face.

"I don't care about the wedding plans anymore, Cristof. For me, our relationship is over."

After saying that sentence, Alexa immediately closed her car window tightly and started the car engine again.

Alexa didn't care when Cristof yelled her name, even chasing her car from behind. Because now, her feelings for Cristof had disappeared.

"I can't believe he's still chasing me now," she muttered, hearing the sound of Cristof's car horn from behind.

However, it seems that Alexa wasn't paying close attention to the road. Because ahead of her, there was another car speeding towards her.

"Ah!"

Alexa immediately turned her steering wheel to the left. After that, everything went dark and she couldn't see anything anymore as her car collided with the other vehicle.

Alexa tried to open her heavy eyelids, feeling an immediate pain attacking her head.

"My head is very dizzy ...." she murmured.

After a few moments, Alexa was finally able to focus her sight. She looked around at her surroundings, including the white-painted room with the distinct smell of medicine where she was now.

"Alexa is awake, Dad. Come here, our daughter is awake now," someone said.

Alexa immediately turned her head towards the door, upon hearing the voice of someone so familiar.

And it turned out that the voice belonged to her parents, Kania and Gerry.

"Dad, Mom...."

Kania and Gerry walked towards Alexa, who was still lying on the bed. They looked so happy to see Alexa conscious now.

"I'll call the doctor to check on her. Stay with Alexa here for a while," said Gerry, Alexa's father.

Upon hearing those words, Kania nodded her head and let her husband leave the room.

"Don't move your body if you still feel pain now. Wait until the doctor comes here and examines you, dear."

Alexa smiled, then nodded her head. In truth, her body was feeling so much pain right now. Even her face looked so pale, with dry lips and reddened eyes.

Not long after that, Gerry entered the room again with a doctor and a nurse. After about 10 minutes, the doctor examined Alexa's body and asked her some questions.

"Miss Alexa's condition has improved now. We have done a scan before and Miss Alexa did not suffer from any serious fractures. If there are no more complaints, Miss Alexa can be allowed to go home tomorrow and only undergo outpatient treatment."

The doctor explained Alexa's condition to her parents, that her condition had improved now.

"Okay, thank you so much for helping my daughter," said Gerry, with a grateful feeling.

"It is my duty as a doctor, Mr. Gerry. Alright, I have to check on other patients now. You can call me if something happens to your daughter, Mr. Gerry."

After a brief chat, the doctor and nurse said goodbye and left the room. Only Alexa remained with her parents.

"Actually, what happened to me, Dad? I only remember the incident when a car hit me."

Alexa looked at Gerry, then asked that question. She really didn't remember anything, except for the incident when she had an accident after the reunion party.

"The car had a brake failure and hit your car. Luckily, you managed to save yourself by turning the steering wheel to the left, although you hit a road barrier after that," Gerry answered. He found out about it after hearing the explanation from the police who rescued Alexa.

Alexa pondered for a moment. She remembered turning the steering wheel to the left, but she didn't remember hitting a road barrier because of it.

"And Cristof suffered quite serious injuries. Because his car was hit hard by the car with the brake failure," Gerry continued his sentence, and it immediately shocked Alexa.

Alexa had forgotten about Cristof. Because on the night of the accident, Cristof followed her car from behind and it turned out that he had a more severe accident than her.

"That's enough, don't think about heavy things for now, Alexa. Now, you have to rest again, so that your condition gets better," Kania interrupted the conversation between Alexa and Gerry. Then, she asked her daughter to rest.

"Is there any other meeting scheduled for today, Jessy?" Alexa raised her head and looked at her secretary, who was standing in front of her now.

"No, Alexa. You've finished everything for today," Jessy replied.

Upon hearing the answer, Alexa nodded her head in understanding. Then, she leaned back on the sofa and took off her glasses that she had been wearing.

"Why did you decide to work right away, Alexa? You only just recovered yesterday," Jessy asked, sitting on the sofa in front of Alexa. Although she was Alexa's secretary, Alexa always asked her to speak casually when they were together.

Alexa looked at Jessy and shook her head. "I can't just leave my work like that. There are many projects that my dad planned, and as his representative, I have to help him as best as I can," she replied.

Being an only child in the Adisson family was not easy for Alexa. She had full responsibility as Gerry Adisson's daughter since he held authority as the leader of one of his companies.

"But you also have to take care of your health, Alexa. If your health deteriorates, you won't be able to work well. I will arrange a schedule for you to meet with your personal doctor to check your health regularly," Jessy said.

Jessy was Alexa's closest person after Belle. Besides being her secretary, she could be a good friend to Alexa.

"There's a man who wants to meet you, Alexa. His name is Mr. Smith, he's the leader of a large company that is an enemy of your father's company, Mr. Gerry," she explained, giving the information to Alexa.

"Mr. Smith? The enemy of my dad's company?" Alexa said, with a questioning tone.

Alexa's attention was immediately diverted when she heard the sound of a bell from outside.

"Jessy, check outside and see who's bothering me during lunchtime like this," she commanded Jessy.

Jessy walked towards the door and opened it. And when the door was open, she saw the presence of a tall and sturdy man standing outside the room.

"Mr. Smith?" she called out, with a surprised expression on her face.

The man Jessy called 'Smith' nodded his head.

"I want to meet your boss, she's inside, isn't she? Her name is Alexa."

Upon hearing her name being mentioned, Alexa immediately turned her head towards the door to see who the man was. However, a few moments later, Alexa stood up from her seat. She looked so surprised when she saw the person standing in front of Jessy right now.

"A-Aldebaran? Why are you here now?"
