Mara's POV

My mum couldn't even wait for me to get close to her room door before she threw her shoe at me.

"Ouch mum!" I yelped and held my nose that had just been bruised because she didn't miss her target.

"What are you doing here?. You intruder!" my mum screamed at me.

"Someone please help there is a thief in my house, a murderer, a kidnapper, someone save me,!" My mum suddenly began to yell.

"Mum?" I looked very surprised because I couldn't comprehend what was happening.

"Don't you even dare to call me that because I am not your mother. The daughter I gave birth to will never be brave enough to spend late nights outside" my mum was giving me a stern warning as she pointed her index finger at me.

Tears flowed from my eyes as I couldn't hold them back anymore.

"I don't know what I have done to you that makes it difficult for you to trust me.

You couldn't even open the door for me last night and you risked my life. I was attacked yesterday and I ran to the house. I ran to my own mother but she shut the door and refused to take me in" I continued my sob as I wiped the tears from my eyes.

"You didn't even bother to ask why I was late and where I had been all this while, you just concluded and decided to scold me. It is so not fair mom because I do everything for you and you don't care about me.

I'm such a horrible child" I managed to talk in between my sobs and I could see that my mother's heart had melted as she walked up to me and tried to touch me but I moved away from her.

"You already denounced me as your daughter. What else do you want?" I wiped my tears.

"I'm sorry Mara, I thought.." My mother was trying to plead with me as she felt very remorseful.

"You thought that I had purposely stayed out late! You thought that I had started doing the things you forbade? But even at that mum. The punishment you gave me last night was more than my offense.

I could have been killed" I interrupted her.

"I'm so sorry, my baby. I didn't mean to but I was so upset" my mum also joined me to cry.

"I'm really sorry, it won't ever happen again okay" my mum was trying to assure me.

"Come I will make your favorite meal for you" my mum promised me as she made her way to the kitchen.

"No mum, I have had breakfast.

My boss was the one that helped me. Come let me tell you everything" I pulled her back and made her sit on her bed as I wiped her tears and began to narrate the whole story to her, cutting off the part where I threatened my own boss of course. I didn't want to put any crazy ideas in her mind.

At Mia's orphanage

"Why are you packing your things Mia?" A little girl came running into Mia.

"I am going for a sleepover at school, Lakshmi said it would be nice" Mia replied as she continued to go through the things that she would be needing.

"Wow! Can I come with you?" The little girl looked at Mia with pleading eyes which had no effect on Mia at all.

"No I don't think the school would allow me to bring you along" she replied the girl.

"But Mia, I won't be in any trouble." The girl wasn't planning on giving up.

" No," Mia blatantly replied. The little girl ran out of the room and soon returned with a lady pulling her by the wrist.

"See aunty, you have to tell Mia that I must go with her or else she won't be allowed to go" the little girl kept on dragging the lady's skirt and the lady was getting really uncomfortable.

"Britney, stop it okay" the lady shunned her and focused her eye on Mia.

"Mia?" The lady called Mia's attention.

"Yes" Mia dropped what she was doing and entwined her hands while she looked at the lady.

"Did you tell anyone that you are going for a sleepover at your school?" The lady was questioning Mia who now looked downwards at her feet.

"No, I didn't," she shrugged.

The lady went closer to her and made her sit in the bed along with her.

"Mia, you cannot just go anywhere you like and anytime you like. You have to inform someone anytime you want to go somewhere or do something outside the orphanage especially when it is past your school hours because we are responsible for you.

Heaven's forbid it if something bad happens to you, we will have to look for a way to find you and if you don't tell us where you went we wouldn't know where to start" the lady was calmly explaining things to Mia who didn't understand why it was necessary to inform someone whenever she decides to leave the orphanage.

"Do you understand Mia?" The lady asked her as she noticed that Mia wasn't quite paying attention to what she was saying.

"Yes" she kept on nodding her head vertically.

"So can I go?" Mia raised her head to look at the lady who just couldn't say no to Mia.

"Yes, but you have to make sure Lakshmi drops you off on Monday" the lady instructed and Mia agreed with her condition.

"But what about me?" the little girl said in her small voice that made the lady giggle.

"You will have to wait till your own school has a sleepover then you can go but for now only Mia can go" the lady smiled at the little girl as she made the little girl sit on her lap and patted her hair.

"That is not fair at all. I want to go please" the little girl was still persistent.

"Britney what did I say about disobedience?" The lady was gentle in her words and it made Mia feel safe.

"You said disobedience is bad and it can put someone into really big trouble" the little girl lowered her voice as she had been shouting.

"Do you want to get into trouble?" The lady asked the little girl who now folded her lips to one side of her face.

"No," the little girl replied with a very sad tone.

"Then don't disobey me okay?. I'll tell you what?" The lady had an idea.

"What aunty?" The little girl suddenly had joy in her voice.

"Since it's Friday and it's the weekend, I'll let you watch all the cartoons you want all throughout the night. Do we have a deal?" The lady brought her hand out for the girl to shake on it.

"So I get to stay up all night?" The girl was overjoyed.

"Yes" the lady smiled and the little girl slapped the lady a low five

"Okay Mia, we will leave you now to continue with your preparations" the lady carried the girl in her arms and left the room.

At a random mansion in magic city

"You are the most us*l*ss set of people I have ever worked with" Catherine's kidnapper could be heard yelling at two of his agents.

"We are really sorry sir, we.." the tallest was talking but was unable to finish his statement as he got punched in the face by Catherine's kidnapper.

"What stup*d excuse are you about to give me?" He thundered as the man fell to the floor.

"Sir.. it's. .. not what.... you think. She is really strong and she is not as weak as we expected her to be" on of them stumbled backwards as he tried to defend his partner.

"You fo*l ! So you are trying to tell me that a teenage girl who has Autism, overpowered you? Are you trying to tell me that a girl A TEENAGE GIRL actually overpowered the both of you?!" he was fuming with anger and begun to break things around him.

"Boss.. she.. she isn't just a teenage girl" the one who had been hit previously stood up from the floor stammering.

"I have had enough of both you. You two should leave my sight at once before I do something even the devil would be shocked" he ordered and they were about to leave.

"Wait! Let me remind you never to show your faces to me ever again unless I demand your presence and also, don't you ever tell me you saw Mia again unless you have captured her and brought her to me.

You may leave now" he concluded and soon enough they were out of his sight.

"You need to learn how to put your anger under control or you just might regret it later on" I heard a feminine voice said in such a low voice that is was almost a whisper.

"Why are you here Banshee?" The man poured himself a glass of wine.

"I am here to give you good news" although he hadn't even looked at Banshee's face, he was sure that a smirk had rested on her face.

"And what type of good news is that?" He looked at her as he sipped a bit of wine and also handed her a glass.

"Although I am not a fan of wine but for this celebration I am going to have a glass" Banshee took it from him and sipped it a little before she started to speak.

"Alyssa, my daughter is having issues with someone from her school" Banshee began her statement with that.

"Firstly that is not good news and secondly that is non of my business. She is a witch, I'm sure she can sort herself out" he nodded his head and he picked up a paper in front of him.

"I strongly believe that the person she is talking about is Mia" Banshee's blurted out gaining his attention as he dropped the paper to look at her with eyes and mouth open.

"What did you just say?" He dropped the glass.

"You heard me right but I don't want you to keep your hopes up yet because I have not confirmed it yet" Banshee raised her head up as she seemed to be thinking deeply about a particular thing.

"But what gave you the feeling that the girl in question is Mia?" The man questioned Banshee as she could hardly believe his ears.

"Because Alyssa claims she has the most powerful necklace and it is very difficult for anybody to just get such a necklace" Banshee was trying to prove her point but she suddenly paused as she knew the next question he was about to ask her.

"But how could she have gotten the necklace if she has autism? She wouldn't be brave enough to go that far to get a necklace. I'm not sure she is even aware of the existence of such a powerful necklace" the man went on and on and it was as if he didn't want to stop.

"I don't know how she got the necklace but Alyssa herself had testified to seeing her with it and more so, that necklace is the only thing I know of that can restrict my powers from working" Banshee tried to explain as best as she could but her explanation still wasn't enough for him.

"Honestly Banshee, I don't want to know if she has the necklace or not. All I want is for her to be out of my way. She is a threat to me and you know that, not just me but you as well" the man suddenly began to panick when he remembered how critical the whole thing was.

"You are the one talking but you should also know that more than you, I am at risk because my life is tied down to this girl. And don't you forget that I am only doing this because of you and the love I have for your father" Banshee became sad all of a sudden.

"I know Banshee and I really appreciate it. I am grateful for all you have done for me so far and also for the position I have found myself because of you but we really cannot let all the hardwork we have put in all these years to go to waste.

We have to do something and we have to do it fast as well because if she lives any longer it would be more dangerous for us" he tried to control his fear and hide it as well but it was too big to be kept away.

"So what do you plan to do with Catherine? Why haven't you killed her yet?" Banshee also started to ask her own questions.

"I don't know but I just feel it's for our best interest that she stays alife for now and if Mia is to survive then we can use Catherine to shield ourselves" the man walked back and forth in the room with no agenda.

"Do you think Arthur is alife?" Banshee just asked to get his attention.

"No he can't be alife. I watched him burn to death myself, the video they showed me couldn't have been fake because it was a video chat" he said then stopped in his movements.

"I know but I can still feel his presence" Banshee tried to be calm and that was when the man looked at her with fear written all over his face.

"Me too but he is gone, we just have to think about how to get rid of Mia for now. She should be the only thing on our minds" the man man placed his hand behind him.

"There is a plan Alyssa and I are working on. W want to use this their so-called school sleepover for it" banshee made he come closer to her as she began to whisper some words in her ears.

At Mia's school

The school periods went by ever so quickly and as if the day was also awaiting what the night was about to bring it also went by quickly as well.

All the students were very anxious and happy that they were going to have a sleepover at school but the person who was awaiting the night the most was Alyssa, she just couldn't stop smiling all day and that made Mia and Lakshmi very uncomfortable.

They knew that there was something wrong, Mia tried to reach out to her dad but she couldn't.

Alyssa was ready to strike and her first attack was the rainfall with hauling thunder that made everyone scream, it was so loud that it made the school vibrate, the stairs especially with Mia walking down and she fell down hitting her head hard on the floor.

While everyone rushed to check what had happened to her Alyssa couldn't stop smiling to herself as she turned to Lakshmi who just refused to take her eyes off her.

"First shot successful" Alyssa slowly walked towards Lakshmi and whispered into her ears as she also went to fake her care towards Mia.

But Mia didn't bleed as Alyssa had expected but she wasn't going to give up, the night wasn't over yet.

The whole place went dark and the teachers thought it was a power outage so they brought out their phones to use as torchlight but everyone's phone had died at the same time even that of the students.

No one could see anything as they kept bumping into each other.

Mia, felt someone approaching her from behind as the person wrapped their hand around her neck, trying to strangle her but it felt as if the person got an electric shock as he/she let go of her.

The lights came back on again, by this time all the students were already sweating and everyone looked so scared as it felt as if the floor was moving.

They felt like they were on a wave as the floor wasn't settled.

Then the lights went off again and it came back on except this time grasses had grown on the tiles floors, everyone was itchy except for Alyssa who only pretended.

"Mia!" Lakshmi called out as the grasses kept on growing taller and taller until they were now the same height with their tallest teacher.

No one could navigate througly but Lakshmi was still very persistent as she struggled to find Mia in the now made forest.

"Lakshmi.. Lakshmi.. Lak.." Mia was trying to reply her friend when something covered her mouth from behind, it also squeezed her face so much that she couldn't talk as it began to drag her from the scene with the grasses clearing up anywhere she passed.

"Stop! Leave me alone!" Mia was crying as it now dragged her by the hair, she was trying to free herself but it's grip on her was too strong.

Mia had been screaming so much but surprisingly no one could hear her.

Mia found herself in some kind of bubble where she could hear and see everyone but they couldn't hear and see her as she was hitting on it as if it was a door but no one heard her.

Mia sat inside the bubble, shivering and shaking.

"Dad please save me. What is all this ?" Mia kept on yelling for help and calling out to her father but she didn't get any reply, no one came to her but then she felt something from behind.

She felt like she wasn't alone and when she turned around to look at what was standing behind her, she nearly passe out as the horrible creature stood in front of her.

It's face was so beautiful and she couldn't tell who or what is was but part of its face had the scale of a fish and it's hair was made of brown snakes.

"Welcome to a world where it is just you and I my beautiful Mia" the creature spoke and brought out it's tongue which looked like that of a snake except it was longer and thicker.

She looked at the feet which was flat and had a very good balance on the bubble. It had only three toes on each feet and the feet was bent backwards.

"Wh...at.. are.. you?" Mia was stuttering and sweating profusely.

"It really doesn't matter baby girl. Look I want your death to be very easy that is if you are willing to give me that necklace" the creature spoke bringing out it's tongue after saying each word and the snakes on its head, moving and trying to bite Mia who kept on moving backwards to get away from her until she stumbled at the end of the bubble and fell but she managed to sit up.

The creature stretch forth its hands and tried to pull the necklace from Mia's neck but retracted immediately as the necklace was too hot.

"So you want us to do this the hard way huh?" The creature stretch forth its hands towards Mia again who was shivering on the floor of the bubble, she looked very pale and scared.

It hands turned into a big snake that was still attached to it's body as it tried to bite Mia's eyes off but it didn't succeed as a shield appeared from nowhere to cover Mia's face.

Something threw a knife and it cut the head of the snake off, causing the creature to bleed.

Mia looked in the direction the knife came from but she didn't see anyone.

"Why do you want to make things tuff?!" The creature was enraged as it's entire body was now red and it had smoke coming out from it's eyes and ears.

The hand which had been chopped up suddenly grew back and it's form began to change and it completely looked like a human being, Alyssa.

"What wrong have I ever done to you?" Mia was crying and her eyes were already red and swollen.

She looked at Alyssa helplessly but this witch just didn't have any feeling towards her, her heart was too frozen to feel any form of sympathy. She was determined to kill Mia at all cost
