In a beautiful two-story villa, a girl wearing pink sportswear stood on the balcony. There was a piece of paper in her slender hands.
It was a note that had appeared on her table this morning. At first, she thought nothing of it and was intending to throw it away. Just when she was about to, her brother stopped her, saying that it was very important. Afterwards, no matter how many times she asked, he wouldn't say what it was. Now, she was burning with curiosity.
What the hell was this?
After looking at the paper for such a long time, she could no longer bear it.
"Come on. Just tell me, Hurst. What is this?" she asked, turning around to face the boy who was packing up in the room. The piece of paper fluttered in her hand as she waved it around. After all, there should be no shame in asking about something you didn't know about.
It was fortunate that she had such a smart brother. But, from time to time, she couldn't help but feel that she was dragging him down to her level.
In truth, Anne Gu wasn't at all that half bad. It was just that her brother was absolutely exemplary that it was inevitable that she would get overshadowed by him most of the time.
"It's the admission letter to the Royal Magic School, idiot," Hurts Gu said with his lips curling into a sneer. When he caught sight of his sister, he couldn't help but roll his eyes in disdain and sigh heavily.
It went without saying that Hurst Gu was skilled in magic. Because of this, he couldn't wrap his head around that fact of how clueless Anne Gu was no matter how hard he tried to mentor her every day.
There wasn't really a lot of options for Hurst Gu to begin with -- if their parents hadn't decided to travel around the world and leave Anne Gu in his care, he would've never bothered to take her to the Royal Magic School in the first place.
He had a lot to uphold since he was one of the school's best students, while his sister didn't even seem to take it seriously at all.
"Admission letter to the Royal Magic School?" Anne Gu looked and turned the paper over a couple of times, feeling stumped as she saw that nothing was there. 'There's nothing written on here! But the quality of the paper is really good though. The type that could be used to make paper cranes!
Hmmm... Maybe my brother is just trying to scare me,' Anne Gu thought to herself, her brows furrowing.
"You idiot!" Hurst Gu exasperated, gritting his teeth. Stretching out his hand, he uttered a short spell. Words started to slowly appear on the piece of paper right before her eyes.
Even when Hurst Gu tried to induce Anne Gu's interest in magic, she just wasn't eager to learn anything about it. Thus, her level of magic was really low.
However, when she saw the words "Royal Magic School" fade into the paper, an excitement rose up from her heart. "Wow, it's really not an ordinary white paper!" she exclaimed.
"Such an idiot..." Hurst Gu mumbled under his breath.
"So where is this Royal Magic School? It sounds interesting," Anne Gu asked, studying the piece of paper up close.
"It's nestled somewhere in the mountains, secluded amidst a thick forest," Hurst Gu stated almost arrogantly. "A fog envelops the forest all year round, and the mountain is shrouded with a strange atmosphere to ward off uninvited guests."
Then, he paused to look at Anne Gu with an overbearing look. "Only people like me can go there."
"Hurst, don't flatter yourself!" Anne retorted, the corners of her lips turning down into a deep frown.
'How could he say such awful things? I'm his biological sister and yet he acts so conceited. I don't know why it's so easy for him to hurt my self-esteem like that!'
"So what now, Anne? Would you like to go there?" Hurst Gu crooned with an evil smile.
"Of course! It is fun there? Are there any good looking men?" Anne chirped with excitement. It was such a mysterious place!
It was hard to imagine that there would be someone there who was even more handsome than her brother was.
Just the thought of meeting such a guy was enough for her to feel eager about beginning the semester at her new school.
"Well, yes. There are lots of handsome men from the Miracle Realm. Would you like to see them?" Hurst Gu looked at her with his cold, sharp eyes.
"Handsome men? Count me in!" Hearing this, Anne Gu jumped up and down with enthusiasm, her big eyes sparkling with excitement. 'Just wait for me, boys! Anne Gu is about to come into town!' she sang in her heart. But, after a while, she paused.
"Hold on. What's 'Miracle Realm'?" Doubt flashed in her eyes as she looked at her brother. What did the Miracle Realm imply? Where was it located? Was Hurst Gu tricking her in meeting monsters?
"The Miracle Realm is a place for different kinds of creatures. Vampires, werewolves, Demi beasts, Devils' sons, elves... You name it," Hurst shrugged.
"Okay." Anne nodded slightly, as if she was still thinking about how Hurst Gu had said that there were a lot of handsome men there and wondering if it was still worth visiting.
"Would you like to go now?" Hurst Gu smiled mysteriously. Before Anne Gu could come to her senses, he grabbed her hand and opened the access to the Royal Magic School.
"Wh...what? Right now?!" Before she could process what Hurst Gu had said, the scene in front of her eyes completely shocked her.
A magical portal appeared before them. Just before Anne could react, Hurst pulled her into the cave with him.
Anne's scream echoed in the darkness.
"Hurst, you bastard! I wasn't even ready!" Looking around, Hurst was nowhere to be found. However, peering through the thick foliage, Anne saw a gate in the distance. Without anywhere else to go, she made her way there. It was a tough place to trek, every step riddled with slippery rocks and overgrown roots. It was even more challenging with the thick fog enveloping the whole area.
Eventually, she reached the gate. With her hand on her chest, Anne panted heavily, trying to catch her breath.
Afterwards, she looked up and saw the words "Royal Magic School" written in iron. There was a gloomy aura that surrounded the towering gate.
'Oh my God! So this is really?' Anne gaped. With all her might, she tried to get the gate opened. When she could do it, she tried climbing it. However, all her efforts were in vain.
'So is this how the Royal Magic School treats its new disciples?' Anne sighed tiredly.
With her arms crossed over her chest, Anne pursed her lips and stared at the gate. How she wished that she could just smash it into pieces!
"I told you to practice your magic." A voice suddenly sounded behind her, a trace of contempt lingering on his tone. "But you never listened to me, did you? Now you're at a disadvantage!"
"Hurst, you... When will you ever stop making fun of me?" For a moment, Anne glowered at her brother. Hurst was leaning against a tree, an amused smile on his face. There was no doubt that he was truly a physically blessed man. Standing almost six feet tall, he was frequently envied by other men at how incredibly good looking he was.
Anne had no idea how long he had been standing there. The only thing she was certain of was that he must have been there for quite some time now since he didn't look out of breath at all.
'I can't believe this guy!' Anne screamed in her heart. 'There's no way I would consider such a heartless man to be my brother! He had the nerve to leave me all alone back there. Next time I see him in public, I won't pay him any attention!'
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Hurst said, beaming widely at Anne. At this point, her face was red with exhaustion and anger. Despite this, she still had an inherently noble and elegant temperament.
"Are you serious? You left me back there and I had to climb up here all by myself. Can't you just give me some time to rest? Besides, the door hasn't been opened yet. How do we even get inside?" Anne looked at him angrily, her beautiful eyes burning with fire.
'He doesn't feel pity for me at all. If only I had known what a jerk he would be to me, I would've never agreed to come to this place!'
In her heart, however, she knew that she had no choice but to be with her brother. Otherwise, she would definitely not know the first thing she should do in order to live by herself.
"What are you talking about? We can get inside," Hurst snorted as he put his hand on a stone pillar at the gate.
Although it was true that he had gotten there at the gate before Anne did, he still decided to wait for her there. It was because he had already thought that she would not be able to figure out how to open the gate, and might end up running away somewhere dangerous.
As soon as his hand touched the cool stone, a blue light appeared, moving up and down the pillar like veins.
A deep and dark voice suddenly resonated out of nowhere.
"Welcome. You have successfully arrived at the Royal Magic School. Now that you have passed the identification test, please enter."
As soon as the creepy voice faded out, the gate slowly opened before them. Anne's eyes widened in astonishment.
There were goose bumps running up and down her body as she peered around curiously.
Her excitement went as quickly as it came. The place didn't look as promising as Hurst had implied. It was dark and almost filled with a certain gloom.
There were some students who were chatting among themselves, their bodies and faces slightly hidden and faded out because of the constant mist all over the area.
'What is this place? I thought this was the Royal Magic School... Why does it look like a deserted teaching building?'
Anne hesitated for a moment and wondered whether or not she should take a step inside.
It looked horrible! At this point, she was starting to contemplate on how long she had to stay here. Apparently, it took three years to complete all the lessons and teaching. If a student happened to fail, they had to stay here until they finally made it.
Thinking of this, Anne's heart fluttered helplessly in her chest.
'No! There's no way I'm staying here!' Anne cried out to herself. If she had known it earlier, she wouldn't have been tempted by the handsome men her brother had mentioned to her.
"Come on, Anne. Let's go inside," Hurst said as he turned around to look at her. A smile appeared on his lips as he saw the expression on her face.
"Hurst, I think I..." For a moment, she had the urge to chicken out.
"Don't worry, okay? I'm here with you. Besides, this school doesn't accept ordinary people. Since you can climb up here from the bottom of the mountain and pass the numerous tests, it means that you've got what it takes to be here. Don't you want to show them what you got?" Hurst said softly as he walked back up to Anne.
"Well..." Anne felt that she was doomed. Was there any way to resist Hurst's seductive eyes? It was like he could've asked her to do anything and she had no choice but to hopelessly agree to it!
All of a sudden, a luxurious and exquisite carriage stopped in front of the school's gate. The appearance of the carriage brought upon the excited voices of the other girls nearby.
"Isn't that Mr. Brice?" "Oh my God! It's really him!" The girls ran in Anne and Hurst's direction like a pack of hungry wolves.
"Mr. Brice?" Anne was a little stunned. 'Who are they talking about?
Are they talking about my brother?' Thinking of this, Anne couldn't believe how many fans her brother had. For a while, she thought about how troublesome it would be if she was caught out in public with him.
Just then, Hurst's voice made her come back to her senses.
"Anne, move!" he shouted. "What..."
However, it was much too late.
Before Anne could even blink, the crazy girls rushed past her in a flurry. One of the girls bumped into her forcefully, making Anne fall down on the ground.
'Ow! That hurt, damn it! Who did that?' Anne grunted to herself. Meanwhile, Hurst was trying to look over the swarm of people to find his sister.
"Anne! Where are you?" he called out anxiously as he craned his neck over the crowd.
There was no way that Hurst could see her since she was still on the ground. It seemed as if the wave of girls wasn't coming to an end.
'What's going on? Is this an all-girls school? Why are there so many girls?' Anne thought.
A moment later, the crowd parted in two, forming a clear pathway right in the middle of the road.
'What's going on now?' Anne wondered.
When she tried to get up, she was unable to because of how sore her bottom was. Besides, she wanted to have a word with this so-called Mr. Brice.
After all, his relentless fans literally almost ran over her!
What could've possibly been so great about this guy? Looking around, Anne saw how the crazy girls looked and squealed at the sight of Brice Luo.
He was one of the four most charming students in the Royal Magic School.
Closely following behind him were Dent Mo, Ennis Han, and Frey Xiao.
As Brice Luo approached the campus gate, he saw Anne in her pink attire, sitting right in the middle of the road and blocking his way.
"Fuck off!" he sneered at her. He had been in a bad mood all day long. Now that there was someone standing in his way, he couldn't help but grow angrier with impatience.
"I'm sorry but I won't," Anne declared as she stood up from the ground. Now that she came face to face with him, she straightened her back and squared her shoulders, looking at him directly in the eye.
However, as soon as she laid her eyes on his face, Anne couldn't help but quietly gasp in surprise.
Brice Luo was undeniably handsome!
However, it appeared that he had an ill temper. Because of this, no matter how good looking Brice Luo might have been, Anne felt that her brother was still more attractive -- Hurst was gentle and kind, and because of that, it made him all the more appealing. There were times, of course, that he wasn't kind, especially when he called Anne an 'idiot'. But other than that, he was definitely a better man than Brice Luo was.
"Y-you...!" Brice Luo stammered, fury flashing in his purple eyes. This was the first time a girl had ever come in his way!
"So you're the Mr. Brice everyone's been crazy about? Can I just ask you something? Why are you cocky and arrogant?" Anne said, her eyes full of malice.
For a moment, all the other people around were lulled into silence as they held their breaths. In the bottom of their hearts, they were deeply worried about Anne and how this whole ordeal would turn out.
What was she doing? Was she asking for a death wish? How could she provoke the great Vampire Lord, Brice Luo!?
Of course, Anne had no idea who she was dealing with. Offending Brice Luo was like she was also offending all the other students from the Night Department. Once the students of the Night Department went against her, she was basically as good as dead. What was more, anyone who was acquainted with Anne would probably be in danger as well.
"Are you really trying to court death? I wouldn't mind sucking up your blood right now," Brice Luo remarked coldly as he slowly walked closer to Anne.
"Why would you do something like that? Do you have a thing for blood? Or are you really just some kind of creep?" Anne taunted. As Brice approached her, Anne staggered backwards. The closer he got, the more she felt that she was in danger.
'Shit.
Is he really going to... What a bully!
Brother! Where are you?' Anne thought to herself.
She frantically looked around the crowd for Hurst, tears starting to well in her eyes.
"Stop!" A voice suddenly called out from behind Brice.
Turning around, Brice stared coldly at the direction the voice came from. It was Hurst.
'Brother...'
Seeing her handsome brother suddenly appear, Anne felt a wave of relief wash through her.
"Hurst, he... He was being such a mean bully," Anne whined as she pointed at Brice.
Hearing this, Brice's mouth curled up into a devilish smile. He looked up and down at Hurst, his interest starting to grow.
At this moment, he started to wonder what kind of ability this boy might had.
Slowly, Hurst walked to Brice. Then, much to Anne's surprise, he bowed to him!
"I'm sorry for what she did to you just now. Please let her go and we can all just put this behind us," Hurst said in a solemn voice. There was so much remorse in his voice and eyes that Anne couldn't believe what was happening!
'B-brother...? He... What is he doing? Is he really...
Apologizing to this jerk?' Anne thought.
Her eyes widened and she looked at Hurst in confusion.
'Doesn't he care that his sister was getting bullied earlier? He should at least do his duty as my brother, right?
I didn't do anything wrong.
Why does Hurst have to apologize?!'
"Okay, I'll let her go today for your sake, but next time--" "Yes, don't worry!" Hurst interrupted, cutting off Brice's cold and threatening words.
"She won't be a problem. I will take good care of her," he added with a faint smile. The last thing he wanted for Anne was to get into unnecessary trouble like this. Her safety was one of the utmost importance for him.
Seeing his sincere attitude, Brice didn't say anything more. Then he turned around and walked towards Anne arrogantly.
Seeing the anger and fury in Anne's eyes, Brice snorted. 'Little girl, you'd better not let me see you next time, otherwise...'
With a sly smile at the corners of his mouth, he walked past Anne.
Glaring at his receding figure, Anne stuck her tongue out at him. 'Humph! I'd better not see that jerk again. Otherwise, I'll make sure that he'll suffer!
Humph!'
"Anne, shall we go to the dormitory now?" Hurst said in a soft voice as he walked to her side, gently holding her hand.
"Hurst, why didn't you go after that guy?!" Anne stamped her feet with resentment as she pouted at him like a spoiled child.
'It's like I don't even matter to him! From now on, I will never think of him as my brother!' she swore in her heart.
"Idiot. There are some things you don't understand yet." Hurst turned around and gently patted the top of her head.
"What are you trying to say?" Anne pressed stubbornly. Two years from now, she would be turning 18, which technically made her an adult. Despite this, Hurst had a habit of treating her like a young, thoughtless, little girl.
"Never mind, silly girl. Let's go! You'd want to tidy up first before the opening ceremony later in the evening." Hand in hand, the two siblings went further into the campus grounds.
The longer Anne stayed there, the more confused she felt about this place. All of the signs were so small that it was almost impossible to understand what was written on them. She could already feel that she would be having a hard time navigating around by herself.
Without another word, she followed closely behind Hurst. Soon after, they stopped in front of an old building.
'Is...this really the dormitory? Why are all the buildings in this school so depressing!?
There's nothing 'royal' about this Royal Magic School at all!' Anne thought. A strong, dark aura surrounded the dormitory, making her feel very much on edge.
Everything about that building screamed danger. A normal person would think twice before going inside because it looked like it would fall apart at any given second! Once she stepped in, she feared that she might never make it out alive anymore.
"Well, this is the dormitory! Let's go inside!" Hurst announced in a delightful tone as he urged Anne forward.
"Wait! Are we really going to enter this building?" Anne asked, her voice trembling with fear as she pulled back his hand.
"Of course, idiot!" He stretched out his hand and flicked her temple.
"Was that really necessary?" Anne complained, rubbing her head.
"Fine. I'm going in. If you don't want to, just stay outside!" After saying that, Hurst walked into the dormitory with his hands in his pockets.
For a couple of seconds, Anne hesitated on whether or not she should follow him. Just when he was about to disappear from her sight, she hurriedly called after him, "Hurst, wait for me!" Running quickly, she came back to her brother's side and grabbed tightly onto his arm.
As soon as they step foot inside, Hurst waved his hand lazily, making the candles around them light up faintly.
Now that Anne could properly see inside, her mouth widened in awe. "Wow! It's so beautiful here!" The room they were in was in an ancient European style -- elegant and timeless.
"Didn't you say that you didn't want to come in here just a minute ago?" Hurst teased with a light-hearted laugh as he nudged at Anne's side.
"You didn't tell me it looked this great inside!" Anne exclaimed. It was truly like a different world inside the dormitory.
This place was so cozy and perfect.
But, of course, what made it all the more enticing for Anne was the attractive men Hurst had mentioned to her. 'Maybe I'll meet someone special later at the opening ceremony!'
Thinking of this, Anne felt giddy with excitement.
Later that night...
The Royal Magic School's opening ceremony had started!
The principal's voice echoed through the campus. Standing in the crowd, Anne couldn't help but yawn out loud.
'This is so boring!' Anne complained to herself. 'I'd rather just go home now than to listen to this headmaster's boring speech.'
All of a sudden, an idea came to her, and she looked at Hurst beside her with pitiful eyes.
"What's wrong?" Hurst said in a low and cold voice, noticing his sister's eyes were intently on him.
"Can I go to the bathroom? I'll be back as soon as possible!" With a flattering smile at the corners of her mouth, Anne looked at him and batted her lashes.
"Yeah, go. Make it quick," he replied, clicking his tongue impatiently.
"Okay!" With that, she quickly disappeared from his sight like a gust of wind.
Looking at her receding figure, Hurst sighed heavily. He knew his sister well enough to know that she wasn't going to come back like she had promised. In fact, there was no one else in the world who knew Anne better than he did.
Gritting his teeth, he was starting to get a headache the more he thought about Anne. At some point, he started to regret that he took her to the Royal Magic School in the first place. But, those thoughts were instantly eliminated when he thought about how Anne would not be able to take care of herself at home.
As it turned out, Anne really went to the washroom. However, when she came out, she saw a building that was higher than all the other buildings in the school.
There was nothing about this place that was special to her. At least not yet. All the people she had walked passed by so far weren't that special either.
But now, seeing that tall building made her eyes shine with excitement. If she could get up there, she might be able to touch the stars in the night sky.
With newfound determination, Anne quickly walked towards the building.
Twenty minutes later!
Anne gasped for breath, feeling undeniably exhausted. Finally, she was able to get to the topmost floor.
At this time, she felt a bit regretful that she didn't study magic that well. If she had done, it wouldn't have been this difficult for her to climb! But now was not the time for regrets since she had reached her goal.
With a satisfied smile, Anne looked up, eager to enjoy the fruits of her labor. There, she saw that eaves were big and wide, like a large umbrella. Much to her dismay, it blocked the view to the sky entirely!
'What an awful design! Such a waste of a potentially beautiful scenery,' Anne thought.
With a shrug, there was really nothing else much she wanted to do there. In the next second, she lightly jumped on the roof.
"Ha-ha! It worked!" she cheered in delight. Even though she was not skilled in magic, she definitely had some tricks and spells under her sleeve.
Finding a comfortable position, Anne laid down and looked at the stars.
She put her hand on the back of her head and squinted slightly. The stars looked like they were blinking at her in chorus.
Climbing up this high made her feel pleasantly surprised in herself. However, she was still far away from the stars. 'Don't be so arrogant, lovely stars,' she sang in her heart. 'Once I master my magic skills, I'll finally be able to hold you on my fingertips!'
Taking a deep breath in, she enjoyed the tranquility of the night, the moonlight softly shining on her face.
A cool wind blew gently, making a crisp sound in her ears that filled her with happiness.
"Mr. Brice, be gentle! It hurts!" At this moment, a coquettish voice came through under the eaves. The woman begged for mercy in between her short gasps.
"It hurts, you say? Don't you like it?" Although his magnetic voice was gentle, it was still incomparably cold.
Hearing these two voices, Anne frowned, her quiet moment on the roof getting disrupted.
Shuddering, she couldn't help but feel disgusted at how they sounded.
'Mr. Brice? That bastard again?
Why do I have to cross paths with that jerk again!
I was having such a nice and peaceful evening up here by myself!' Anne thought to herself with anger.
Thinking of this, she decided to go down to have a look. Then, she thought it might be a good idea sneak up on them and give them a fright, just so that she could get revenge for what Brice did to her earlier today.
However, as soon as she rose to her feet, she lost her balance and slipped down the roof!
"Aaah!" Anne screamed helplessly. Her eyes were tightly shut.
In the few seconds she was falling, she kept thinking how much trouble she was about to get into.
Her shrill scream inevitably caught the couple's attention.
Raising their head, they saw a black figure quickly coming down towards them.
Thinking quickly, Brice pushed away the woman he was with.
Just when he was about to make his retreat, it was already too late. Anne had landed right on top of him.
Brice and Anne hit the floor, both of the grunting in pain.
"Mr. Brice! Are you okay?" the frightened girl asked worriedly, hesitating on whether or not to help him up.
After a long time... Anne's eyes fluttered open as she finally came to her senses.
Moving around slightly, she was surprised to find that not a single part of her body got hurt from the impact.
'Huh! Why do I feel okay after falling from such a high place?
Maybe my magic is getting better quicker than I thought it would!'
Just when she was starting to feel proud of herself, a man's angry roar came from under her. "Ugly woman, get off me!"
Surprised, Anne leapt up on her feet. It was only then did she realize that she had actually landed on Brice.
"You... Why are you even here in the first place!" Anne snapped at him, crossing her arms over her chest.
"What are you...
I should be asking you that question!" Brice stood up from the ground and glared at her.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean? I was here before you were!" she retorted, raising her eyebrows at him.
"What did you say, ugly woman? Dare you say that again?" Brice snarled as he walked towards her menacingly.
It was hard to understand why Anne would even try to provoke Brice like that yet again. However, now that he was approaching her with a murderous glare in his eyes, she couldn't help but back down.
"Oh, I'm sorry to interrupt you. It's my fault! Heh... Please, go on with your business! I'm leaving now." Realizing that she was in a disadvantageous situation and her brother was not here, Anne knew better than to stay there for a second longer.
Finishing her words, Anne turned around and was about to leave.
"You brat. Do you think you can just leave easily after pissing me off so much?" With a sneer, Brice was suddenly right in front of her in a blink of an eye.
"Ah... You..." In a panic, Anne raised her arms to protect herself.
Subconsciously, she murmured a spell. When she opened her eyes, she was surprised to see that Brice was frozen like a statue!
In the next second, he fell onto the ground, still frozen solid.
With her eyes widening, Anne didn't think much about it anymore and quickly made her escape.
"Mr. Brice! Oh my God, are you okay?!" The girl he was with rushed over to him worriedly. Her face looked pale from all the blood he had been sucking up from her earlier.
"I'm fine," Brice sneered before uttering a spell to break the magic that was on him.
'How dare she use a pathetic magic spell to trap me? She dares underestimate me?!' Brice growled.
Looking at the dark and empty stairs, Brice's eyes flashed an evil light.
'Brat. You are definitely in trouble now.'
When he was about to leave, he accidentally stepped on something.
Raising his brow, he squatted down and picked up the thing under his feet. It was appeared to be a delicate earring.
'What was this?'
Suddenly he recalled that Anne was wearing a pair of earrings. It must have been hers.
An evil smile appeared on his face. 'Woman, I'll wait for you!'
Meanwhile, Anne was trying to run as far as possible from where she came from. Looking around, she couldn't help but feel lost. Every building and street in the campus all looked identical to her!
At some point, it felt like she was starting to run around in circles.
After a long time, Anne stopped and gasped nervously.
Looking around at the dark buildings shrouded in thick fog, she started feeling uneasy.
What should she do to find the dormitory?
Would Hurst worry about her?
It was hard for her to count on him since he appeared not to care about her sometimes. There were times that he was quite cold and aloof towards her.
Suddenly, an idea came to her. 'Ah, of course! I can contact Hurst with my earrings and let him come to me,' Anne cheered to herself.
Lifting up her hand, she went to get her right earring. Much to her dismay and shock, it wasn't there.
'What! Where is it?
I know I had it on just a while ago!'
Feeling slightly panicked, she reached out to her other ear. Her fingers touched the smooth earring, a crisp sound ringing in the air.
'Oh my God! I'm so screwed! If Hurst knew that I lost my earring, he would kill me!' Anne thought.
Admittedly, although she was a beautiful and lovely looking girl, she could be quite clumsy most of the time.
Biting her lip, she tried to figure out where she could've possibly left it.
Using a low-level spell, Anne tried her best to locate it.
After some time, she came back to the place where she had encountered Brice. Swallowing hard, she barely had any courage in her to walk back in there.
What if that fiend was still there and didn't leave?
If that were that case, she would definitely be causing more trouble for herself.
'No! I can't go back up there again!' she cried in her heart.
But...
'But... What about the earring?
I can't even get back to Hurst without it!'
